The studio is a converted porch that is right next to my bedroom in the ranch house. It is tiny, but there is room to do your writing or art work. It's a small perch in the forest. This is a remote location in the Heart of the Los Padres National Forest. In line with that, there are differences from city life. You can see the stars at night, weather permitting. If the wind is going the right way, you can hear the ocean. You will hear the sounds of birds, and of other wildlife, and passing airplanes are noticeable. They stand out from the silence of the forest. It's quiet and there is no entertainment except what you bring. Seasonal variations and natural things such as bugs and dust are part of being out in the country. Think of this as being a luxurious camp site, and you will be very happy here.
You are surrounded by a forest overlooking the spectacular view of Lucia Bay and Gamboa Point in an incredible vista of the Pacific Ocean. Sunsets are magical, each one different. The property is unique in having a spring-fed pond, and a hiking trail loop through redwoods. You can see the stars to a degree unknown in cities and towns, where human activity has diminished their brightness.
This is a rustic hospitality offering. You will find that the building has character, due to being hand built out of wooden materials. Floor has stains in it from wear and tear. It's a wild area with very few people around. This is a small relaxation space, with just the basics. It's all about keeping it simple, and being in nature. Depending on the season, temperatures or bugs may require adjustments for those who are not used to the variations of nature. If you need everything to be perfect, Big Sur may surprise you! I am not offering luxury, but basics to be comfortable.
The distance from towns creates new opportunities and, of course, challenges. If you forgot something basic, I probably have it on hand since I keep a reserve of all important supplies.
Servicios y zonas comunes
You will have access to the gorgeous bathroom overlooking the Pacific Ocean, and to the kitchen. The bathroom is shared. Cleanup is done in the kitchen, as there is no sink in the room itself. If you need ice for the cooler, or to put food items in the fridge, I will take care of that for you. You are free to hike and enjoy all the amenities of this fantastic property.

Let's keep quiet after dark and share what is good in a way that makes all of us happy. I'm pretty flexible about most things. I do expect you to clean up after yourself to a normal degree.
I am a writing coach, a published author, and a working artist. I love nature and getting to know people. Finding projects to work on with other people is one of my faves.
I love to travel, swim, knit, write, draw and garden.
When I travel, I like to go light. My style as a host is to provide a safe and simple place to relax with a bit of light company, or to let you be very quiet if that's what you would prefer.
My life motto is: the simple thing is the good thing.
