Prime Beacon Hill location. Cozy does not begin to describe this stylized get-away space. The living area is more spacious than most studios in the area. Comfortably furnished with a queen-sized real bed and an additional queen-sized air mattress.

Take a small step through history as you enjoy your time in this cozy, subterranean servant's quarters. Nestled in the rear of the building and located smack in the middle of the most central, and arguably the most historic, part of Boston, this comfy abode wants for little when it comes to getting literally everywhere within minutes. Just right up the street from the Massachusetts State House and the Boston Commons in one direction, The North End, Government Center, and Haymarket Square in the other (10 mins by foot), Charles St., Newbury St., and Boylston in another...the list of sights, shops, restaurants is endless, all easily walkable. For stops further away, the Boston "T" is the way to go. You can board the train in several locations, all under 10 minutes by foot.

Now your accommodations: "Cozy" is an overused descriptor when it comes to accommodations, but in remarking on this charming space, it truly fits the bill. A former servant's quarters from the early 1900s, the stylized and surprisingly spacious dwelling maintains much of its humble charm while having been moderatly refinished and modernly furnished for additional comfort. Entrance into the unit is made via a small "hobbit-sized" door. Queen-sized bed and additional full-sized air mattress, and plenty of space for both, will comfortably accommodate 4 guests. Full kitchen and quaint eating area allow for a quiet dinner in if you get tired of the bustling urban Boston nightlife. You'll just have to experience this relaxing little spot for yourself. You will not be disappointed. :)

You'll be renting the entire studio.

I'm usually available by phone/text, and always via email. I'm known to respond very quickly to guest questions, concerns, and needs.

Beacon Hill is one of, if not THE, most historic, popular, and sought-after neighborhoods in all of Boston. Its central location makes it second to none for visitors to imbibe all the sights and sounds of this amazing city.

"Everything" is walkable! That which is not, is quickly and painlessly accessed via the T-stops located under 10 mins in several directions.

As far as parking, there are several options.
1) There is metered parking, which turn off at 6pm, with Sat and Sun free.
2) There are side streets which have non-metered parking.
3) Just a few blocks away, is the Boston Commons Parking Garage. Here are the rates:

$18 - Up to 2 hrs
$24 - Up to 3 hrs

My husband and I stayed at Jj's place for a bit over a month. We love Beacon Hill and were very familiar with the area after spending the previous month in a different accommodation. The apartment was as described in many ways; "cozy, subterranean and charming" all make sense but read the description with a grain of salt. As other guests have mentioned, the space is dark. Some more lighting might be helpful in completing daily tasks like putting on make-up, shaving, washing dishes, etc. The photos accurately depict the furnishings and give a general feel for the space. There is a small chaise lounge but we found ourselves sitting on the (uncomfortable) bed almost all of the time. The kitchen was nearly non-functional. The bathroom is in serious need of some TLC with a TINY shower and giant crack in the floor tile. The best part about the apartment is the location; convenient to Whole Foods, convenience stores, bars, liquor stores, coffee shops, gyms, sights, subway, etc. Although the location is prime, it did not justify the price tag. This might be an OK spot for a solo traveler to rest their head for a couple of nights. It will give you the quintessential "Beacon Hill feel" but if you are looking for a quality experience - I would suggest looking elsewhere.

JJ was a great host and this is a great apartment for one person or a couple. I stayed for two months, during which I was able to walk to everywhere I needed. It's quiet and comfortable - an excellent temporary home for me.
