Our big, bright and spacious room with views of the garden is in our family home. It has its own entrance way, which you get to by walking down external stairs into our garden, so that you can come and go as you please and is just a 15 to 20 minute walk into Lyme Regis town centre, the historic Cobb and beaches. We are very relaxed hosts and we will accommodate late and early check in times when we can. Use our guest space as if it were your own and enjoy our tranquil garden too!

Lyme offers something for everyone. Walking along the Jurassic Coastal Path, art exhibitions in the Town Mill Gallery and individual shops to explore, and of course the opportunity to taste some fine, locally sourced food from independent Cafes. The Marine Theatre always has a full programme of music, plays and shows to enjoy and many of the local pubs have live music every weekend. You cannot leave Lyme Regis without walking around the historic Cobb at the harbour, made famous and written about by John Fowles in The French Lieutenant's Woman.
A very easy visit is to River Cottage Canteen in Axminster which is open all day for coffee and cake, lunch and dinner. Or plan a visit to River Cottage HQ which is just 3 miles away from us. A lovely walk through Trinity Hill Woods will get you there in under an hour ready for your course or dining experience!
A cliff fall in our neighbouring village, Charmouth has attracted fossil hunters from across the South West. Dozens of people can be found searching the shorelines in Charmouth, following the fall which is thought to have unearthed the treasures.
Most of the ammonites found are expected to be between a few millimetres and about five or six inches, but some can be up to a couple of feet in size. Search for your own!

Walking back to our house from the beach and town centre is up hill and those with mobility issues may find this difficut. If you don't think you can manage the walk back the bus does stop at the end of our road and a taxi from town will cost £4. The walk takes about 20-25 minutes (depending on your stride on the up hill bits!) or there is a pretty 20 minute walk via the River Lym. There are maps of the town and walks in your room. When arriving it is best to reverse into your car park space as it makes leaving much easier when our car is parked on the driveway too!
This is a non-smoking property. We have a cat called Tigo, and would not allow other pets to visit. We can, however, accommodate muddy boots and wet backpacks and bikes in our garage!
You will be met on arrival and shown to your room. We are very happy to provide information about Lyme Regis, our favourite places to eat and things to do and our favourite walks. We enjoy meeting new people and would like to make sure that visitors to Lyme Regis have the best stay possible. Equally so, if you would like privacy during your stay you have your own key and entrance to your room is private so it's not a problem.
As a family that have moved to live by the sea we are certainly making the most of it. I gig row, and my husband and sons, powerboat and sail. We have our own little boat in the harbour, no worries, and have had fantastic trips to quiet spaces along the cost. We enjoy wallking and have some favourites that we can share with you that always include a stop for cake or chips or both! Our style or Airbnb hosting is informal and casual. There's no checking in or out times, just make the most of your time in our lovely town.
