I'm a born & raised Washingtonian. I moved to Kauai after high school graduation and my travels began. I enjoy snowboarding, surfing, backpacking, cycling, sailing & bike touring. I've crossed the Pacific ocean a couple times on a 40 foot sailboat and lived aboard. I bike toured last fall across Western Europe. I love exploring new places, cultures, ecosystems & meeting people along the way. I went to college in the Southwest, spent a lot of time in New England and traveled all over Alaska for a summer. These are some of the places I love & return to as often as possible. I found Port Townsend and decided to call it home.
I stumbled across this property while on a motorcycle ride. Immediately I fell in love! It was covered in trees & you had to hike in from the road out to the bluff to see the potential views. It was my dream. Somehow it all became possible. I had to clear, bring in the driveway, power, water, septic.....I lived in a travel trailer while I designed and had my home built. It has been quite the experience bringing this vision to fruition now to be shared with fellow travelers. Now I have a vintage travel trailer I'm moving back into so I can make my home available to you. It is more than I need at this time and I am gone so much myself I thought it should be enjoyed by others as well.
Here's the secret--I live in a sun bubble. It's not always sunny in Port Townsend, it is Western Washington, but comparatively speaking my home is surprisingly light & bright. The Southwestern exposure offers great light. Although being a Washingtonian I love all shades of grey. The views of Discovery Bay & all its mysteries are amazing. It is a very serene, private sanctuary. You can barely see through the trees a hint of my closest neighbors' house. Otherwise the forest surrounds you and Discovery Bay beckons your eyes to its waters with the Olympic Mountains framing the back drop. I hope you'll come and get to enjoy for yourself!
