If you are looking for a reasonably priced space to stay while visiting the beautiful city of Calgary, here it is. You will have a clean, warm, quiet bedroom in the basement with a private bathroom with shower. There is a very comfy queen-size bed. Access to a sitting room with tv/cable/dvd.
Breakfast can be prepared or left for you to prepare if you are a later riser.
The community of Silver Springs is an established neighborhood offering parks and walking paths galore. In summer it is a scenic walk down past the natural springs to the Bow River. There are ample walking/bike paths.
In NW Calgary the location offers easy access to transit to the University of Calgary (10 minutes), the Downtown core (20 minutes) and in just a few minutes you can be at Canada Olympic Park or on your way to Banff/Kananaskis Country for some wonderful summer or winter activities in the Canadian Rocky Mountains.
I would say I am still a novice traveler but have had the good fortune of staying in some rather unique settings: Hostels, B&Bs, Convents, an Orphanage, and a Colonial Palace... Travel for me, is about integrating into the local environment. Meeting local residents and experiencing life the way they see it every day.
I look forward to hosting those who are visiting Calgary for a brief time and are looking for an inexpensive alternative to the usual Hotel experience.
