Communication with the host was fine; as promised, the host contacted us a week before and we made final arrangements. On the day, our plane was delayed and even then communication was great and the host met us at the later time of arrival. They did not rush us to settle in, but spent time talking to us and even took us to a shop as we needed to get something before the shops closed.
The apartment is large, modern and very new. It is full of light - three balconies apart from windows - and well equipped with ceiling lights and lampshades for nighttime. We appreciated the attention to detail: the small fire extinguisher, the first aid kit, and the mosquito plug-ins. The decor is very pleasant, the bedding and curtains rather nice. There were plenty of towels and shower gels in the bathroom. It was great that the host provides some essential stuff for guests: bottled water, juices, biscuits, tea and coffee, pasta, cereal, olive oil and vinegar - perfect to start you off on your stay. Monreale is a good base to explore the area and worth spending a few nights there to experience life in a small Sicilian town with a big reputation for its cathedral. We stayed for three nights in this apartment and it was so nice to be in a place where everything worked and where you could admire the splendid view of the cathedral even from sitting on the sofa!
