Cozy & characteristic loft with private roof terrace. Located in a quiet side street within in the canal district. The museum square, inspiring art galleries, all the major shopping streets, lovely restaurants, bars, cafes are all around the corner.
Set in a protected 17th century house in the heart of old Amsterdam, the Weavery offers the unique character and style of a boutique hotel, with the personal service and homey comfort of a family run bed & breakfast.
The Weavery is as perfectly located as can be imagined. We are just 5 minutes walk from the museum square and a short stroll from all the big theaters. All the main shopping areas like Leidestraat, the 9 Streets and PC Hooftstraat are just around the corner and so are many lovely cafes and restaurants.
"Gezelligheid" (roughly translated it means cozy and pleasant) we keep top of mind at the Weavery. Another key characteristic is independence. Each room is fully self-contained, with private bath and w/c, separate entrance and kitchenette.
Our charming rooms feel like a home away from home to the independent minded traveler, who likes to move at his own pace. In short, we designed the Weavery to feel more like a pied-à-terre than a hotel or traditional bed & breakfast.
We have two rooms to offer. The Silk room and the Suite. This listing is for the Suite.
The Suite was most likely once a storeroom full of opulent silks and fine linens, destined to grace the well-to-do in faraway lands. This room would have housed the entire wealth of the family who once made the Weavery their home. The exposed original beams of the high ceiling hold many clues to the times when this building was a busy workplace and home during Holland’s golden age. The suite is both comfy and spacious, and has access to its own private roof terrace overlooking internal block courtyards; a hidden side of the real Amsterdam most tourists rarely get a chance to see.
There are two queen-sized beds. The regular queensize bed is in the back of the room. The additonal queen-sized bed is in the same room, above the beams, in a cozy 'gallery' reminiscent of the traditional Dutch “bedstee”. (please note that there is a surcharge for the use of the second queen-sized bed).
The Suite is an island of independence with its own large bathroom with bath and rain-shower, and a separate private w/c. The in-room design kitchenette is fully equipped with double cook-plate, microwave, dishwasher and fridge, and full tea and coffee making facilities to ease your way into the morning. If you have some downtime there is a big screen TV, and if you don’t there is wireless Internet to keep you connected.
Please note that there is no elevator in the building and the Suite is located on the 2nd floor.
Based on the 2nd floor, featuring:
- Queen-size bed plus additional queen-size bed in the small 'gallery' above the beams (please note that there is a surcharge for the use of the 2nd bed)
- premium, natural beddings from Cocomat
- Ensuite bathroom with separate bath and rain-shower
- separate W/C
- Rituals bathroom amenities
- Kitchenette with double cook plate, microwave, dishwasher and fridge
- Tea/coffee making facilities
- Lounge corner
- Flat screen TV
- Wireless Internet
- Private roof terrace
As mentioned above, we also have an additional room to offer. Please have a look at our other listing if you are interested in our other room, the Silk room, which has 1 queen size bed and can accommodate up to 3 people (extra single bed possible).
**Breakfast can be provided on request for 15 Euro per person**
**There is an additional fee of 40,- Euro for arrivals later than 9pm**
Please note our strict non-smoking policy. Also, please know that our place is very dear to us. We have spent a lot of effort to make it look and feel the way it does and we would love to share it with people that appreciate its style, beauty and history and who will give it the respect and love that it deserves. Also please note that we have very steep stairs. If you travel with small children, please keep this in mind. Also, this means that unfortunately our accommodation is not suitable for people with limited mobility.
