I absolutely love Trastevere, and prefer to stay in this area whenever I am in Rome. The location of this property cannot be any more central. However, it might be a little too noisy for the light sleepers. We had a constant stream of late night diners outside our windows, and it can be difficult to sleep, as most restaurants are open until 2am.
The property itself was beautifully decorated, and looks exactly as it appears on the photos. It does come with flaws though. The shower was our main struggle, as the water drain very slowly, meaning that the shower tray fills in within seconds. It is rather unpleasant to be standing under the shower ankle-deep in soapy water. I've immediately contacted Sabrina about the issue, and she has promptly replied that the issue would be fixed that day. When we came home later that evening, I could definitely see that someone was there, but unfortunately, it did not solve the issue. Perhaps it is a part of a bigger problem with the pipes and one that cannot be solved that easily, but in our opinion, it is a basic necessity and the hosts should address it. This was one of the most expensive properties in the area, and it has to provide basic standards.
More on the shower front, the hot water tank is highly inefficient and makes it impossible to have decent showers lasting more than a minute or two. The water turns cold very quickly, even when you are still under the shower. As someone who has stayed in private apartments in Rome before, I have seen it on several occasions and therefore was not surprised, but it is nevertheless never pleasant.
Generally, we have noticed that the levels of humidity are very high in this apartment, probably due to the old wooden ceiling. Our towels did not dry fully, and even the bedsheets were damp to the touch. High humidity made this already chilly property even more cold, forcing us to get out as quickly as possible every day. We have left two hours before the planned check-out, something we have never felt the need to do before.
On the positive side, the property provides very good storage facilities.
Bed is comfortable, but pillows aren't - they go flat the minute you lay your head on them. I've woken up with a sore neck after the first night.
All in all, we have enjoyed Rome, as usual, but were disappointed with the lack of basic comfort in this rental. As a highly experienced traveller who stayed in a wide range of properties all around the world, I would never expect anything unreasonable, however, for the money this property is listed for, it needs to be improved.
