Kings House is a newly renovated Grade II listed building located in the heart of Wokingham and only a short walk from the station with direct rail links to London, Gatwick and Reading.

Kings House is an original timber framed house dating from the 16th century with more recent additions such as the brick facade being added in the 18th century Georgian period. Until recently, the house was used as an office but in the last year it has been sympathetically restored to being a residential property with new bathrooms, kitchen, heating system, etc. The property benefits from fire safety and carbon monoxide sensor equipment normally only found in top hotels and has been furnished to the highest standards.

The rental includes the whole property and is not let out to any other party than the main hirers.

The owners live nearby so can assist with any issues that arise in the property or any special request that guests may have.

Wokingham is an ideal base for exploring the beautiful Thames Valley and is close to Sonning (famous for George Clooney and Uri Geller) and towns such as Henley, Marlow and Oxford. Historic locations including Stonehenge, Bath, Wells and Glastonbury are within easy driving distance as are day trips to the New Forest and Bournemouth. Royal Ascot is only three stops away on the rail line to London and other events such as Henley and Wimbledon can be reached easily from Wokingham by rail. Bath, Bristol and Oxford are easily accessible by train from Reading (1 stop from Wokingham) as are places further afield including Cornwall, the Midlands, Lake District and Scotland.

For shoppers, Reading provides an excellent choice including the Oracle centre (URL HIDDEN) where you will find major stores such as Debenhams, House of Fraser, John Lewis as well as designer outlets. Reading has many other shopping areas and bars and restaurants (see (URL HIDDEN) so makes an excellent day or evening out and is only one stop away on the train.

If you would like to visit one of the top spas in the UK then we are close to Nirvana (URL HIDDEN) Not only is it the location where Robbie Williams and Kylie shot the infamous 'Kids' video, the award-winning Nirvana spa is unique in that it brings all the benefits of the Dead Sea to the sleepy Berkshire countryside. Not content with utilising it's own source of spring water - bubbling up through the earth underneath the purpose built spa - Nirvana ships in hundreds of tons of Dead Sea salt for the sole purpose of de-stressing spa goers: One hour floating in their pool is the equivalent of a good night's sleep!

The property is around 300m from Wokingham railway station and 100m from the main bus stops in Broad Street. By road, Wokingham is a short distance from Junction 10 on the M4 which is the main highway going West from London past Heathrow airport.

There is public car parking available close to the house and we also have a secure gated parking facility for guest within 50m which is available on request.

Any approved additional overnight guests must pay the extra person fee outlined on our listing profile and must sleep in the room of the paying guest
Use kitchen freely but please clean up any mess that is created, including dishes, counters, stove, microwave; no dirty dishes should be left in the sink overnight, please put them in the dishwasher.
All food items should be stored in designated food areas; for example, non-perishable items should be properly sealed and placed in the pantry, perishable items in the fridge.
Check out by 11 am on the day established by the reservation (If the reservation is August 3rd to August 9th then August 9th is the check out day.)
Please help us conserve energy by turning off lights, small appliances, lamps, etc. when not being used.
Also, please remember to LEAVE THE KEY and CAR PARKING PASS on the kitchen sideboard when you check out. Remember to close the inner door on your way out and pull the outside front door closed behind you.
If you need flexibility around the specified check in or check out times, let us know in advance.
If there is an issue with any room or bedroom, please let us know immediately. We work best with guests who are good communicators. If the room needs a light bulb, if you'd like an extra pillow, blanket, or fan, let us know and we will be glad to make it available to you.

I am a sixty something married man who loves all things to do with English heritage. We bought this 16th century townhouse as a retirement property but have now decided to rent it out to selected people who also appreciate the history and character of these beautiful old buildings.
