Elverhøi was built in 1879 as a coach service station. It is right across the street from the railway station in Hanestad. The Railway arrived here in the same year. Later the place has served as a private home, hotel, and now it is our home. This place is really of the beaten track. Here you can experience silence, beautiful nature, fishing in Glomma which is the longest river in Norway. Have a look at the map on our listing to see some of the sites you could experience during your stay here.

We are mostly around the house and available for our guests.
We are a family, Kari Marie, me, our two daughters, Tora and Ragnhild and also our dog Herman. Our place is was built as an coaching-station for the railroad in 1878. The house was modified into a private home around 1902, Since then ita har served many purposes. And now we offer shelter for travelers again.
Kari Marie is a potter. She has an exhibition and shop in our house. Me, Frode used to work on oil and gas platforms offshore in the North sea. But now i´m a full time father, host, and potter assistant.
