The ad says East Congress but this is most definitely South Congress...
Camp EZ in SxSouth Austin!
Creek-side private picnic/campground hideaway available. This a "want to camp" campground. If you "need to camp" due to financial or other reasons, Camp EZ will not be a good fit for you.
Community vibe 'round here; everyone expected to be respectful of one another and clean up after themselves "leave no trace" style. One week maximum stay.
Bring a tent and gear to be comfortable. 2 private hot outdoor showers, rustic kitchen and charming compost privy included. Wood fired sauna available. Visitors are expected to clean up after themselves especially in the kitchen, showers, restroom and, of course, your campsite. Trash and recycle containers are around or, better yet, pack it out!
I have a 2 acre community on a secret and secluded little street 5 miles due South of the capitol of TX and even closer (2.5) to the very hip SoCo area (Continental Club, Jo's Coffee, Guero's Taco Bar, El Mercado and lots more). I have 3 cats, 11 chickens, 3 ducks and 7 sweet mini goats here at my little and funky 'farmette' right on Williamson Creek and next to a huge wooded greenbelt with a quiet and unused nature trail. Lots of remodeling and flood related cleanup chaos here but also lots of pretty and secluded nature. Short walk to bus stop and historic Hills Cafe and Austin Bergstrom Airport is 9 easy highway miles away. Rustic outdoor shower/kitchen/privy. BYOTent. No wild or excessive partying here please and please remember: no smoking :)

My stay at CampEZ couldn't have been better. The property is beautiful, and all the amenities are clean and perfectly functional. I felt very welcome, and met loads of really friendly and open folk! I'll be coming back if I make it back down to Austin.

Camp EZ took me in at a moment's notice which was excellent. People introduced themselves and I was given a tour of the property, which is funky an ecclectic, and as self-described, a "hippie compound". I set up camp. The property is relatively close to the city centre, which is great for site seeing, but it does mean that there is traffic noise in the night. I slept pretty well, but I recommend earplugs. There was a big party the second night with lots of folks out, lots of music and potluck. My understanding is it happens once a month. I'm a muso, so it was great. I really got the flow of things on the last morning, sitting at a turtles pace and having coffee. I can see how people would want to stay there a long while.

Jim O' and Camp EZ were fantastic! The campsite was wonderfully appointed from the well stocked camp kitchen to the most amazing outhouse ever. Really, no joke! Jim O' and the rest of the folks that were around were all friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be back.

I really love camping and get excited at the weirdest things, but they have this adorable compost toilet-shed, and it was awesome! The host was welcoming, as were the other guests. Easy access to the bus routes. It was really hot during the day so i didn't get to stick around the campsite much, but i'm definitely coming back!

Jim has a peaceful little spot in the middle of the city. He was very helpful and friendly and had many rustic accommodations to make camping a bit more comfortable. My wife and I got pretty warm in the evenings, but unfortunately Jim doesn't have the power to control weather. Be prepared to tent camp and you will have a good stay.

Tent camped for a week. Enjoyed getting to know Austin. Strange Brew Cafe is only 1.5 miles away and was fun, esp on Sunday. Nightly group campfires at the campgroud were fun. Met lots of interesting people!

Jim was great! The location was perfect for getting in and out of the south congress/downtown Austin area for our stay during SXSW. The land we camped on was incredibly beautiful, everyone was friendly and helpful, the showers were great, it was such a fun experience! If you're looking for a no pressure community camping experience, you'll love it there. It was nice to have Jim and his friends and other campeRs there to ask for tips and suggestions about things to do and see. We had a great time, can't recommend it enough!

funky laid back South Austin alternative lifestyle. Developing my in town 2 acre 'farmette' on the creek. I've been in the food/catering biz for many years and enjoy people and gatherings. Hope to see you at one of our 2nd Wednesday community PotLuck parties!
