This is such a nice and peaceful place. I wanted to go to the countryside for a bit, and this definitely granted my wish. You can rent bikes at the guesthouse and bike around the area to see rice fields, mountains and the Lake Biwa. It was so nice. Staff was really kind and the food was great and very authentic. I can definitely recommend staying here for a peaceful time at the Japanese countryside.

My friend and I stayed for two nights and it was very enjoyable. The room was clean, the people were very nice and helpful! The food was great too and the whole atmosphere was just awesome (especially the garden was very beautiful). The place is a little far away from the station, but they offered to take us from the station to the guest house, so that is also taken care of. In general I have nothing bad to say about this place and it is definitely a good place to stay if you want to experience the Japanese countryside.

We spent a very nice time in Harie. This place is not only very comfortable and clean, people are also very friendly and it is also a great place for people who loves nature like us. Someone came to pick us up at the station. It was very nice because we had heavy luggages, but the station is also quite close so it is possible to take the train for excursions. People were speaking English and very helpful. We would recommend this place to anybody that want to enjoy a traditional place close to nature with all the comfort is needed to take some rest. We will for sure come back in summer to enjoy the Biwa lake.
