Its Located on the tourist route to Mt. Field. And only 15 minutes from the stunning Russell Falls.

We do have two other ensuite rooms downstairs that can be booked- please check our other listings.

We call this charming upstairs bedroom the 'Norfolk'
Named after the historic township New Norfolk, that is nestled along the famous Derwent River and only 10 minutes from Hawthorn Lodge.

The Norfolk is located on the first floor, this quaint and cosy room with its pitched ceiling has views from its Cape Cod Window right across the valley. This room can cater for singles and doubles.

Linen, towels and bedding are of high quality with comfortable queen sized bed.

There is a shared powder room just outside the bedroom door and a shared bathroom on the ground floor.

Continental Breakfast is included in the price and is served in the farmhouse kitchen.

Bushy Park is famous for its production of hops.
It has a lovely country feel and is close to the magnificent Mount Field National Park, the home of the famous Russell Falls.
Bushy Park is also close to Tasmania's unique ski fields which are operational in the winter for lots of snow fun.

Bushy Park is located 53 km west of Hobart via Highway 1, the Lyell Highway and the B62.

We offer an Hobart airport Pick Up service for $80 for groups 1-7 people

Hawthorn Lodge was built in 1869 by Ebenezer Shoobridge, he settled in the Styx valley and began growing hops. Over the next twenty years he made Bushy Park the largest producer of hops in Australia and, reputedly, in the Southern Hemisphere.
Bushy Park, 10 minutes from New Norfolk, the hop capital of Tasmania. A pleasing, little village where 19th century houses, deciduous trees and hopfields merge to give an extremely English feel.

The beautiful garden provides a great variety of fruit, including mulberries, apples, plums and almost anything you would expect in a Tasmanian heritage property.
Two old Canadian Sequoias trees over 100 years old, stand proud at the entrance along side, old oak trees providing this momentous living memory of an stately era gone by.

This is a special place full of history and very charming. I enjoyed my stay immensely and it seems a place to meet others who enjoy a good story! There are lots of places to find solitude and beauty on the property and I loved wandering in the garden!

Marie & David were great hosts, very welcoming. The atmosphere was quiet & relaxing. We sat on the verandah overlooking their beautiful garden. What a great spot to recharge our batteries after tripping around. The bed was comfy & breakfast was made especially yummy with fresh berries from the garden. Thank you very much for a lovely stay.

I am a writer, public speaker, running coach and fitness consultant
For 18 months I traveled on a book and motivational speaking tour across Australia, the UK, USA and NZ and I stayed Air Bnb all the way- I had the most amazing experience and met some wonderful people.
I decided when I got back to my hometown of Brisbane, that I would love to host guests the way I was hosted on my epic journey. I had a lovely old Queenslander and I was very busy for two years hosting some lovely people from all around the world.
Just recently David (my partner) and I purchased the lovely Hawthorn Lodge in Bushy Park, Tasmania- we are now operating this Heritage Listed home on Airbnb, and we love it.
Not only is it a charming place to stay, but we are also operating the Lazy Tea Rooms, where we will be serving traditional cream teas on weekends. We also have a gift shop with lots of local handmade and home grown bits and pieces and we offer transfers and local tours as well.
Looking forward to meeting you at Hawthorn Lodge in the Lovely Derwent Valley.
