The Tin Roof Cabin is tucked back under a few cedar trees in the Heart of the Tiny Village of Rhododendron.

A rustic cabin with modern amenities, it doesn't get any sweeter than this. Walk up the stone lined pathway to the Entrance, dust the fir needles or snow off your boots and relax.

The Tin Roof cabin has a woodsy modern vibe complete with pine plank ceilings, and wood toned floors. In the Living Room there is a sectional sofa large enough for the whole group. Get settled in with some popcorn and watch a movie on the flat panel television, we provide the Blue Ray/DVD player, DVD's and cable channels. If you're more into Books or Board Games, we've got plenty of those too. The cabin is outfitted with high speed internet for those who need to get some work done, want to check on their social media or search for the Best Hiking/Biking/Ski Areas or Restaurants in the area.

The open floor plan makes it easy to wander over to the kitchen. We've outfitted it with vintage green mason jars and stacks of plates and bowls. Of course you'll also find all you need to create a meal for family and friends, mix up Margarita's or warm up with hot cocoa with your favorite person. The adjoining Dining Area has seating for 4 at the huge pine table.

The Master Bedroom has a serene feeling with incredible views of the forest. The Queen size memory foam bed is adorned with a vintage door turned Headboard, hand crafted by the Owners themselves. This space also has a roomy closet, and at the foot of the bed a chest full of extra blankets.

The second bedroom has a Full Size Bed, with it's own whimsical bed furniture. A small dresser and lamp sit near the bed. Take the forest views in right from your pillow.

Additional sleeping accommodations are provided in the living room, with a sleeper sofa with Queen mattress.

The Bathroom is simple and modern, recently updated with new paint, flooring, lighting and plumbing fixtures. The shower stall has a Rain Can style shower head for relaxing after a day of adventures.

The outdoor space is forested and shady, there's a picnic table for outdoor dining. A stone firepit isn't too far away, for roasting marshmallows or telling tall tales. Smokey Bear says to check current fire restrictions before having a fire. This is a shared firepit with the neighboring cabin.

A bit of history to ponder while you sit under the trees, is that the Oregon Trail went right through this piece of land. Across the Highway is the Tollgate Campground and the Tollgate Interpretive Area which has access to the Zigzag River and a Replica of the Tollgate on the Oregon Trail/Barlow Road

The Tin Roof Cabin is part of "The Cabins at Belle Lake" a group of 3 cabins. It can be rented together with Juanita's Chalet, or The Ranger House, both located next door.

The Tin Roof Cabin is located in very close proximity to Highway 26. The advantage to this is easy highway access, this is especially beneficial in winter weather. However we ask you to keep this is mind if you have small children or are sensitive to road noise.

We had a lovely weekend in this quaint little cabin. The bed was extremely comfortable, sheets and towels notably soft and the quarters very clean. Delicious coffee provided from Mount Hood Roasters. Michael was very responsive via text to any questions that we had.

We had two families (4 adults, a 6-year-old, and a 1-year-old) staying in this cabin, and it was spectacular! There was plenty of room for all of us (we could have had even more people and still been comfortable), there was a nice selection of books, games, and DVDs, and the kitchen was well-stocked with all the dishes, pots, and pans that we needed to prepare a delicious feast! The location is great--very close to the Zigzag Ranger Station, hiking trails, restaurants, and stores. The cabin is right off Highway 26, and while we could hear road noise when we were outside, we couldn't hear the road a bit when we were inside the cabin. Michael was a great, accommodating host who gave very clear check-in, check-out, and cabin usage instructions. We enjoyed every minute of our stay in his cozy, well-equipped cabin. We could see staying there for weeks! :-)

Our stay at Tin Roof Cabin was great. The cabin was clean, cozy, and located only a few miles from Government Camp, a ton of hiking trails, and even the Timberline Lodge. You can hear noise from the road in the front room, but the back room is very quiet and nice. Great water pressure in the shower. There were lots of towels, a TV to watch movies and stream Netflix (with your own account), and full set of kitchen appliances. Definitely recommend!

Très jolie petite maison dans une magnifique forêt au pied de Mt. Hood. Nous avions tout l'équipement nécessaire et l'hôte a répondu à toutes nos questions et nous a même arrangé une arrivée plus tôt que prévue.

The cabin was even a little more charming in person than in the pictures, though the photos and description really do provide an accurate representation. We were particularly happy to have chosen this one of the Belle Lake trio, as it's set off highway 26 and feels a bit more private.

We're the Rysavy Family, born and raised Oregonians. Mike grew up in Milwaukie and Tamarah grew up in Cottage Grove. We started our married life in a little cedar shake cabin in the forest in Rhododendron. A few years later, we moved to our 10 acre dream property and these little cabins (The Tin Roof Cabin, Juanita's Chalet and The Ranger) sat down the road, forlorn and in need of someone to love them. When they came up for sale, we were so excited to give them a new life and make them available for vacationers to enjoy.
