One (1) bedroom apartment in the Mount Pleasant DC neighborhood (near Adams Morgan & Columbia Heights). Lots of windows. One queen bed, 1 full size futon in the living room & one Air Mattress. A roll away bed is available upon request.Two large closets. A porch. Seconds away to shops, public transportation (metro & buses). 10 minutes to downtown. The apartment is located on the ground floor of a 4 story building.

This is a charming one (1) bedroom apartment, located in the historic, multicultural & hip Mt. Pleasant neighborhood. The unit has antique wood panelling, has many windows including a large bay window in the bedroom and living room. It has a fully equipped kitchen with many cabinets. The building has a great foyer; a porch off of the kitchen and access to the backyard. The unit has a queen size bed in the bedroom, and a full size futon sofa in the living room that can sleep one person; a night stand; two closets, one of which is very large; a dining room table with 4 chairs, living room chairs, wall pictures, a full bath and wall to wall carpeting. The unit has WiFi, a wall mounted TV with cable and a mailbox, for longer staying guests. There are two doors to enter the building, one of which has a lock. And then there is the door to the apartment itself, which has 2 locks including a key pad to unlock the door electronically if you prefer that over using a key. Mount Pleasant has a great Farmers Market on Saturdays. It's a three minute walk to Rock Creek Park. Pets are allowed on a case by case basis. Pets are allowed on a case by case but they must be pre-approved.

Guest Access

Guests will have exclusive access to the entire apartment and will share the foyer, backyard and laundry room with other guests and tenants in the building. There is on street parking, some of which is free without a time limit. Its possible to obtain a temporary parking permit for extended stays. Guests have three (3) ways to enter the apartment. After you get your keys,  walk through the front gate immediately to the right of the front steps of the building as you face the building. That leads to the side and back of the building.. Open the gate with the key provided on your key chain (it’s one with a picture of a soceer ball) and walk to the backyard. When you get to the end of the building, make a left, where you will find a screened in porch. Walk into the porch and open the door with the apartment key to go directly into the Apartment. All the door locks to Apartment B1 take the same orange cap key, except the deadbolt lock for the door near the laudry room, which hs has a keypad, and which takes a yellow cap key.

Second, you can enter the apartment via the back alley if you have parking in the back. Drive to the alley, which is directly behind the building. If your car is in the front of the building, go to the end of the block and make a right onto Lamont Street. Drive a short distance and then make an immediate right into the alley. You will see the facades of the back of a row of townhouses. Our building is the last one. You will see the wooden gate to our townhouse next to a metal roll up garage. The key chain we are providing you with has a key to this back gate. Open the gate and then lock the gate behind you. Walk straight to the screened in porch and open the door with the silver key.

Third, you can enter through the two main doors in the front of the building. The first door brings you from the outside into the “vestibule”, which is a small entranceway where the mailbox and intercom is located. The door into the vestibule doesn’t require a key. For the second door, you only need to use a key for the top lock. (The bottom lock isn't in use). To get to Apartment B1, walk straight through the foyer/lobby and look for an arch opening on the left. There are stairs going up and stairs going down. Go down one flight of steps. WATCH YOUR HEAD as the head clearance is small. At the bottom of the steps, look for the door that says B1. The orange cap key opens the bottom lock and the yellow cap key opens the lock with the electronic keypad.

Guests will have access to Debra via email, phone and text. In addition, there is an office open from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm in DuPont Circle. (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) extension one zero one and ask for Rachel.

Otros aspectos destacables

The WiFi Network Name (SSID) is 3210Apt1. Look in the house manual for the password. If the WiFi goes down, we have a backup WiFi. The user name is guest3210. Text the host for the Password.
Towels can be found in the bedroom closet or in other closets. You only need to use the top lock of the main door to the building. (The bottom one isn't in use).

The apartment is 3 minute walk to Rock Creek park. 10 minute walk to the zoo. 30 second walk to local shops and public transportation. 10 minutes to the Columbia Heights metro (green line) and to the shopping mall in Columbia Heights (between Irving & Park Road on 14th Street). 15 minutes to downtown via buses. Dogs that don't bark loudly will be allowed on a case by case basis for an additional $50 cleaning fee. There is a laundry room in the basement. Its free, even though there are coin slots. There is also a laundry mat across the street with very large machines. See house guide for additional information.

*Check Out/Return of Keys: Please leave the keys on the kitchen counter and remember to make sure the doors are locked when you leave the unit your last time. (You don't need the keys to lock the bottom lock when you leave)
*if you need flexibility around the specified check in or check out times, let us know in advance and we will try to accommodate you
*If there is a problem with the apartment, please let us know and we'll send someone to fix it. If the room needs a light bulb, if you'd like an extra pillow, blanket, or fan, let us know and we will do our best to make it available to you.

I had to be in D.C. for a few days on business. Marty's place was perfect- close enough to restaurants and shops, and an easy walk to the metro. Jogging through the neighborhood and along the Rock Creek park nearby was an added bonus. Plus, the air conditioning was fabulous as the weather brutally hot during my stay. I highly recommend this charming place!

This is a very comfortable accommodation in a terrific neighborhood. Very diverse with a great farmers market on Saturdays. The Samber Market is right across the street and run by a really sweet couple. Lots of restaurants and close to the metro. We'd stay there again.

This is a nice and quiet apartment a short and safe walk from Columbia Heights Metro. Apartment could use some new paint and carpet, but it's certainly clean and had everything we needed. Tons of good information given by owner. Didn't see another person in the building the 3 days we were there (very private). We'd stay there again.

Lovely apartment, plenty of room for our family of 4. Very spacious kitchen, with generous provision of supplies (bowls, cutting boards, coffee filters, etc). We felt so at home! The apartment overall was quite clean (cabinet under the kitchen sink, for example, was spotless & fresh-smelling!). Carpet is not my favorite, but that's just a personal preference/issue. We had a great stay. Charming neighborhood.

Appartement im Tiefparterre, das vollauf der Beschreibung entspricht und auch für einen längeren Aufenthalt (fast 4 Wochen) alles bietet, was man braucht. Etwas dunkel, aber im Sommer ist das kein Schaden, es bleibt angenehm kühl. U-Bahn ist nicht weit weg, ein Bus in Richtung Downtown fährt direkt vor der Tür. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in unmittelbarer Nähe. Besonders positiv: Als das W-Lan ausfiel, wurde umgehend für Abhilfe gesorgt.

Stayed a month. Had a WONDERFUL time! Great location in a historic, culturally diverse, neighborhood. Cozy first floor (not basement) apartment in the back, away from the street. Quiet. Lots of light. Nicely remodeled. Nice landscaping. Marty is a great guy.
