Private retreat 1 hour from Finger Lakes. Hiker/birdwatcher/artist/writer/mountain biker/hunter paradise! Miles of beautiful trails. Pet friendly ($15 per pet, per night, book pet as extra guest) Cozy, comfy, secluded cabin. Swim-able pond, million dollar view! Fully furnished kitchen, gas grill, H-Def TV/WiFi, luxury linens, campfire wood provided. Sleeps eleven. Dark skies. 75 acres of deer or turkey hunting. 6 hunter max. Must sign waiver and check boundaries with us. Great value for price.
"The Crow's Nest" is not difficult to get to, but cell service (though good at the cabin and the top of our hill) is spotty as you get close. I have posted directions which will show up on the listing once you are booked. Please take note as directions from GPS may be funky. If you are told to go up Mahoney Gully Road, that's incorrect (and not maintained in winter!) The Crow's Nest is located at 267 Irish Hill Road, off Shamrock at the Allegany/Steuben county line. I have also posted a map in our photo collection. Well behaved pets are welcome at $15 per night, per pet. Please register each as an extra guest, and let us know, as we like to set out dishes and a special quilt in case your furry friends like to sleep on the couch (like ours do!) "The Crow's Nest" cabin will sleep eleven, 2 queens, 4 singles, sleeper couch and sofa. It has two bedrooms, each with a queen bed downstairs, and a spacious loft with four twin beds upstairs. We only allow six hunters for the 75 acres that go with the cabin, but non-hunting family and friends are welcome! The kitchen has up-to-date appliances, a microwave, coffee maker, and all the utensils you will need. The cabin has knotty pine ceilings, red oak flooring, hickory cabinets, and a beautiful gas heater fireplace. The cozy living area has a cathedral ceiling and a view of the Whitesville Valley all the way to Pennsylvania. There is a gas/charcoal grill on the deck and an outdoor fire pit. Propane is provided (spare tank in shed out back) but please bring your own charcoal. Firewood for a bonfire is behind the cabin. The cabin has TV, Internet, and a DVD player, books, games, puzzles, paper and crayons, and a few toys for the kids. We are seldom too hot in the summer, but there is a ceiling fan in the living room and portable fans if needed. It's a good idea to leave the ceiling fan on to circulate heat in the winter. The Crow's Nest is all yours for your stay. There is a good driveway with parking space for several vehicles. (No parking on the lawn--save our septic!) Our fabulous, property of hilltop forest, fields, pond, and wild gullies is open for your enjoyment by foot, mountain bike, ski, or snowshoe (2 pairs of snowshoes provided). We live a quarter mile down the hill and won't bother you unless needed, but you may occasionally see Fred working in the field below the cabin. If we are travelling you will be provided with emergency contact information. Some of my signed books are always available in the cabin. I am always happy to personalize one for a gift and chat about writing. You can check out my books at (URL HIDDEN) While it is just two miles from the village of Whitesville, "The Crow's Nest" enjoys a pristine rural setting. It features some of the best dark skies for star gazing in the east. Tours of Fred's furniture shop and permaculture plantations, his four-season hoop house, shitaki mushroom farm, and our organic garden can be arranged. He teaches a mushroom growing class every spring. They are catfish, perch, and koi in our pond. They love to be fed! (Food in bin in cabin) Catch and release only in the pond. We are just a few miles from the headwaters of the Genesee river, so bring your fishing pole and kayak. This is Amish Country! Slow down for buggies, and look for vegetable stands, woodworking, maple syrup, and quilt shops. There are potters, jewelry makers, a candle maker, and many other artisan studios nearby. Alfred is home to a world renowned ceramic college and museum. Swain Ski Resort is an hour to the north, the Finger Lakes Wine country an hour to the northeast. There are also a number of great antique shops in the area. Getting away from it all means you are in the country! Be prepared that gas and groceries are eight miles away, just over the PA border in Genesee. Beer can be purchased in Whitesville and Rexville, but Genesee is a dry town. Laundry services are in Wellsville and Hornell.
While it is just two miles from the village of Whitesville, "The Crow's Nest" enjoys a pristine, wilderness setting. It features a spectacular view of pond and valley, forest and farmland, dark skies, clean air and water. You neighbors are deer, fox, bear, and many more wild critters, ravens, crows, a long list of other birds, and the occasional eagle. You can observe our three horses grazing beside Fred's permaculture plantations, his four-season cold frame, shitaki mushroom farm, and our organic garden.
  • As soon as my husband and I pulled up to The Crow's Nest, we were in awe. It looked to be the perfect place for our little 3 day vacation. Entering the home we were happily surprised by the beauty of the home and decorating and the cleanliness. Sue and Fred went out of their way to make us feel welcome from the start. From a bottle of wine and granola to the folded towels and chocolate on the bed, we were ready for our romantic weekend. We brought our puppy along and he loved the property, as did we. It was great to just let him roam with us as we explored different trails along the property on three separate hikes, never having to take the same route more than once. We enjoyed the fire pit both nights of our stay which was made easy thanks to Sue and Fred's offering of wood from their wood pile and the fire starter they had left on the table. Each day we walked down to the pond and sat in the chairs as our puppy explored the sand and wildflowers along the edge. The view from The Crow's Nest is spectacular. Rolling mountains and the forest are your scenery along with absolutely breathtaking sunsets that can be viewed from the wonderful deck while eating dinner at the picnic table. As our trip came to an end, we were devastated to leave. The sense of relaxation and calm that we enjoyed at The Crow's Nest was something neither of us wanted to leave behind. While I had off of work Monday my husband didn't. He regretted having to get back to the grind so soon and said multiple times how he wished he had off so we could stay another night. While I initially found The Crow's Nest when looking for somewhere to view the stars, the weather didn't coorporate with our initial wish. However, that didn't really matter when we had such a fantastic home and location for the weekend. Plus, it gives us an excuse to come back in the spring which we plan on doing. Sue and Fred were wonderful and friendly hosts that were there if needed. We love The Crow's Nest and there's no doubt that anyone who stays there won't agree. Thank you Sue and Fred!

  • Beautiful house. Secluded location. Wonderful place for families looking to get away from it all. The house was large. Clean. Nice beds. Adequate bathroom. House was well-prepped and well-equipped. We had a nice fire in the fire pit. They had dry wood for us. Dog friendly. Beautiful view. Quiet. Wifi worked great. We would definitely go back. Just in case you are the tv/video game type (which we're not), the tv is small and of basic functionality.

  • A wonderful experience, I would definitely stay here again.

  • The Crow's Nest is a clean, comfy, wifi equipped cabin under the darkest skies in the northeast. There are miles of trails to explore as well as a large porch w grill and a fire pit. My favorite thing about the house is that you can watch the sun set, from any room in the house, through a big picture window. There are two small bedrooms down stairs and the loft has about four twin beds along with toys, games, and books to give the kids something to do. Sue and Fred are friendly and welcoming and laid back. This was my second visit and im sure there will be many more in years to come.

  • We were very happy with our stay at The Crow's Nest. Our dog had a wonderful time exploring. We really felt like we were removed from all wordy distractions, but still had all modern amenities. The surrounding towns were very scenic. We loved visiting the nearby Amish stores. We were happy that we did make time to meet Sue and Fred before we left. They were very personable and gracious hosts. We hope we have the opportunity to return.

  • We had a wonderful experience at the crow's nest. The cabin was beautiful and the view of the valley was amazing especially in the morning. Cabin was well equipped with all that you need. Pond was great for our two dogs to swim and they actually had fish food at the pond to feed the fish, which was very entertaining for our dogs. Fred and Susan are down to earth nice folks. Very peaceful place to stay and just unwind.

  • We had a lovely weekend at Crow's Nest - Thanks Sue! We arrived to find the place spotlessly clean and we tried our best to leave it as so. The cabin is in a secluded part of the area and is ideal if you want a quiet place to rejuvenate and enjoy nature. One tip: do not count on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps' directions to the listed address. Use Sue's directions instead. Also, ask Sue for tips on hikes to do around in the area.

  • The cabin was much better than expected! It was very clean and has everything for a perfect weekend getaway! All amenities were as described. Located on 800 acres property cabin is very very secluded with easy access to miles of beautiful trails and views from the deck are gorgeous. You'll enjoy professional combo charcoal/gas BBQ grill/smoker, luxury organic toiletries and quality bedding. We were greeted with a bottle of nice local wine. Owners very friendly and attentive. Can even think of anything we didn't like. Beautiful property, perfect location and amazing hosts. Thank you, Susan and Fred.

  • We loved staying there. Genie was very welcoming, providing everything that we needed. It was snowing while we were there and Genie spent a lot of time shoveling and making sure we could get out of her driveway. We appreciated morning coffee and breads and much friendly conversation. She has a lovely home! Thank you, Genie. Gloria and Peter Klein

  • Neighborhood is great. Right within nature. She even provided awesome weather for my stay.

    Scott2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Genie has a convenient (closer to Alfred U than expected for a very price), friendly (she let us know her schedule & we communicated easily), clean, spacious, & artistic home with a nice carport and coffee on her deck to watch the birds in the morning. Her cat was nice. We only heard cars pass on the road in the mornings other- wise it was very quiet.

Secluded cabin in the country. Very close to 4000 acres of State Land, with great hunting, nature trails, snowmobile trails and horse trails. We are also 22 miles from Swain Ski resort and 11 miles from Tall Pines ATV Park. 2 miles over the hill from Alfred State College and Alfred University. Has a very nice pond for fishing and swimming. Very quiet and secluded with lots of wildlife. Great for family getaway, parents visiting kids at college or a couples get away.
  • If youre thinking about it, then hit that book button and do it! The cabin is even more amazing in real life than the pictures. They thought of everything you could need. I was looking for something very secluded but not far from town, and this is exactly that. Close enough to the grocery store if you need something but far enough away from the neighbors and people where you have a lot of privacy. My only regret is only booking one night... I could have stayed there all summer and have been a happy camper. Like a couple said before- the place is a vacation in itself. Thanks again Richie and Shannon.

    Alex2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • What a great location!!!! Whether you are visiting a child at Alfred or planning a relaxing weekend, this spot is perfect. A cozy cabin with 2 bedrooms. The cabin was immaculate. The cabin is on a very private road but very close to town. The property has a crystal clear pond to relax by or swim in. The host, Richard was great. Communication leading up to and thru the reservation was excellent. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!! Will stay again.

  • There are no cabins like this one out there. I've never been at a place that I wanted to immediately purchase and live there forever.

    Paul 2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is tucked away in a very quite area. All the open area outside, and the pond. It was one of the most serene and peaceful cabin we have stayed at. The cabin is clean and as described. The night sky is amazing. We would definitely would love to come back and stay for longer, if we get the opportunity to do so.

  • I highly recommend this property to anyone visiting the area. Wendy and her husband went out of their way to accommodate my family and me. My grandmother was passing and we were called to say our final goodbyes. I was in Florida at the time and we were frantically trying to make travel plans and hotel accommodations. Due to non-availability at the hotel in Hornell we looked to air bnb for alternatives. We are so thankful we stumbled upon a listing for this property. We sent a message to Wendy and within minutes she replied. Her communication is fast and friendly. Four adults and three children stayed at Wendy’s home for a week. Although the reason for our visit to the area was difficult this property provided stability and a warm place to call home. My parents, sister, myself and our children live in separate states, so that fact that we were all under one roof, together for a week made it very enjoyable and it felt like home. The property has a full, fully stocked kitchen where we spent every night cooking and sitting around their large dining room table together. There is a large covered porch with a grill and outdoor seating. The view of the country is beautiful. From the front porch you can see horses and alpacas. The bedrooms are large and sleep multiple people. There are two full bathrooms in the home. There is also a washer and dryer, which came in very handy since we had three children in the house. The living room has a television and plenty of seating. We genuinely enjoyed our stay at this property and highly recommend it to anyone traveling to the area. Perfect for families visiting for graduation or a wedding. Being able to stay with my family in a home, rather than segregated into small rooms at a hotel made this trip much more enjoyable. Wendy and her husband are very helpful and accommodating. You can’t beat the gorgeous view of the country and quiet, peaceful appeal of the property. I live in Boston, so this home was a much-appreciated break from city living. Whatever your reason for visiting, this home will meet your needs and you’ll be glad you stayed. Thank you Wendy for lending us your home for the week. It made all the difference in the world.

  • Five relatives and I were in town to take part in a tough mudder located in the area. We wanted to spend some time together doing something fun and being in the same place for a couple days was what we wanted. Wendy's house was literally the perfect solution and my first experience with Airbnb. Wendy greeted our party warmly and made us comfortable in the house immediately, we were given a quick tour and shown where everything was. She gave us her local contact information in case we needed anything at all and insisted we not hesitate to contact her. The house is fantastic, very comfortable, in an idyllic setting. We're already making plans for next year and if Wendy's place is available we'll be back!

    Mike2015-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Wendy was a Great Host...She met us at the property, showed us around, and then left us alone for the weekend. Everything we needed was there! It was a VERY large and spacious house, suitable for just a few, (like us) or an entire family or large group....Plenty of space and comfort, inside and out. although an old farmhouse, it has all recent renovations, and very well kept. It was a Nice, cozy stay. We will probably stay again, and bring the entire family next time.

    Bren2016-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for somewhere to stay in the Alfred area this is the place to stay. We were able to accomodate the entire family under one roof which made Kelsey's graduation even more special!!!

  • This is our third stay in Wendy's country house in Andover, NY. Everything is clean and ready, the house is comfortable, well equipped and welcoming. This conveniently situated house has been perfect for us; extremely quiet and also a convenient drive to food shopping and nearby towns. Wendy is available to answer questions and also gives guests privacy. Highly recommend this beautiful and serene location and house.

This apartment holds much of my art collection, so I ask guests to enjoy but dont touch.
I live just beyond the Alfred village on the edge of deep woods and bordered by creeks. It is very beautiful here in every season and lots of places to hike. The apartment is charming, full of art and character. It is also very close to Alfred University and Alfred State College.
  • What a relaxing place to stay! Surrounded by trees, this place is private and quiet. I enjoyed watching and listening to the different types of birds from the kitchen window. Great place to unwind after work. Eugeina also provided food for a light breakfast which was appreciated. She also was very accommodating to my work schedule. The bed was super comfy too. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here over a hotel any day:)

  • Eugenia's place was lovely and she is a great host. She was very accommodating. Her lower level apartment is spacious, private and has all the necessary amenities. I was in the area for work so in the evenings I would explore the neighborhood. She recommended a few activities such as the gym at the university and hiking trails which was helpful.

Thebirdfeeder outside the kitchen window was a hub of activity for thelocal birds and squirels. And Bailey the cat was extremely friendly and welcoming.

Greenwood Hill Farm invites you to enjoy a nights stay on 125 beautiful acres of fields and woodland. In addition to a comfortable nights rest and a complimentary breakfast, you can enjoy walking the woodland trails, participating in farm activities (feeding animals & collecting eggs), star gazing on clear nights, observing our Finnsheep, pigs, goat and horse, or simply kicking back and relaxing. We are located 15 minutes from Alfred and 45 minutes from Letchworth and Stony Brook Parks.
The "Single Twin Room" is one of three rooms listed. While farm visits are popular with families with children, this is also an ideal location for adults to rest, restore, and relax. You can sleep in, meditate, read, meander, or exercise at your whim. Whether alone, with family, or with a few close friends, the peace and quiet are positively therapeutic. We have two guest-rooms that contain a queen-sized bed, and a third guest-room that contains a single bed. There is a (shared) bath across the hall from the guest-rooms. All guest-accommodations are on the main floor and are wheel-chair accessible. Please note: • We can add an infant bed (Pack n Play) to any of our rooms. • Children under two are free with paying adult. A generous, self-serve, breakfast is included with the price of your room. This consists of coffee, juice, milk, fruit, toast, bagels or muffins, cereal, etc. Additional family-style meals are available upon request at very modest prices. Your family can select an old-fashioned farmhouse brunch (with eggs you collect yourself) or one of our delicious home-cooked farm dinners, featuring local products (including things that you can harvest yourself). Most items are made “from scratch” in our farm kitchen. We are best known for providing a comfortable, relaxed, environment and outstanding farm food.
Peace. Quiet. Beauty. Rest. Friendship. Our 125 acre farm sits at 2200 feet (the top of a hill), with lovely, pastoral views in every direction. If you have good eyes, you might spot a few other farms in the distance. The house is surrounded by gardens (flowers and edibles), pastures (occupied by friendly, fluffy, animals), fields (we grow hay) and forests (with a wide variety of trails). This is a rural, area where everyone you pass waves and smiles. The assumption is that you are a friend, or you would not be here. The closest intersection (two gravel roads crossing) is about a quarter-mile away. Traffic noise, light pollution, air pollution – and all of the other things associated with city living are entirely absent. If you are feeling energetic, we specialize in agricultural tourism and entertainment. Would you like to learn more about caring for alpaca, chickens or horses? Did you ever wonder why domestic ducks make terrible suburban pets? Are you curious about how a forest is managed for beauty, recreation, wildlife habitat and sustainable timber? There are so many opportunities to learn/try new things! If you drive a few miles, you will discover a number of Amish communities. The faith attempts to preserve the elements of late 17th century European rural culture. They avoid many of the features of modern society, (like electricity and automobiles) and adhere to practices and behaviors which isolate them from mainstream American culture. They are an interesting and educational example of a healthy and strong sub-culture existing in this country. Farther afield, we are within reach of the following as “day trips”: Niagara Falls, Seneca-Iroquois National Museum, Rock City Park, Corning Museum of Glass, Rockwell Museum of Western Art, Genesee Country Village and Museum, Stony Brook Park, Letchworth State Park, renowned as the "Grand Canyon of the East, and The Sacred Grove and other historic sites of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints (Mormons).

  • Incredibly refreshing and charming homestead with absolutely gorgeous scenery. Awe-inspiring open spaces that beckon you to never leave. Unbelievable stillness and quiet, making for incredible night-time sleep. Beautiful flower gardens surrounding the lovely home. Adorable and loving farm animals that we were able to feed and enjoy. Cheer-y, bright, spacious home that is wonderfully decorated. Crisp and cozy bed linens that I could've stayed in forever. Spectacular, well rounded, fresh, homemade breakfast. The hosts are humble, courteous, caring, and so enjoyable to be with. A place and family that is not to be missed! An incredible place for a family with small children, or for group retreats.

  • Our weeklong stay at Angie's was everything we hoped for when we booked our visit. It was a great retreat from our day trips to Niagara Falls, Rochester, Letchworth State Park and Lockport as well as a convenient location for graduation activities at Alfred University (a twenty minute ride away.) The farm is set in a beautiful rural location overlooking the area and surrounded by hiking trails through the fields and woods. The house itself is tastefully decorated and really invites guests to sit and relax. Angie and her family were warm and hospitable and provided terrific continental and farm breakfast options! This farmstay was everything as promised.

Right in the heart of Hornell, located just above Cosmic Patty's Pizzeria, in walking distance to all main attractions. I have a private bedroom in an apartment with a kitchen, bathroom, and lounge!
The apartment is centrally located with easy access walking distance to Marino's Restaurant, The Brute Wine Bar, Railhead Brewery, & Tom's liquor store. As well as Rite Aid, Stop & Shop, & other local downtown dining and entertainment.
The local tastes & brewery as well as the up and coming music scene. There is a regular Open Mic Night on Monday night's @ 8pm at Paddy's Pub & Grill as well as on Thursday night at the Brute. Also in walking distance to Rite Aid, and the Hornell Area YMCA.
  • Marks place was in a very convenient location for me. His kitchen was stocked with all the necessities which was handy while I cooked meals during the week of my stay. Heads up he does have renovations going on right now.

  • Great value. Get a lot for the cost. Still working on place but wasn't an issue. Staying again

  • I have stayed at this place twice now (each time with 2 other people) with no problems. Apartment is spacious and tidy. The host communicates clearly and quickly. The place can get a little stuffy in the summer and is on the colder side in winter. Nothing you couldn't easily adjust though. Host had put out box fans for us in the summer. The apartment is on the older side, which adds to the charm but comes with quirks... for example the stove needed some elbow grease in order to work. Overall I'd recommend this spot for the simplicity and space at a value.

  • Good location for us as we were headed to Letchworth the following day. Simple accommodations but comfortable and good.

    Margherita2017-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Other than there not being a TV (OSU game) it's a great place to stay. We attended the Glen which is 50 min away but a beautiful drive. The apt is perfectly located in the cutest town with everything you need in walking distance. We really enjoyed our stay. And Lucius was quick to respond to any questions I had and left very clear instructions as to the check in process. Would definitely stay again.

  • If you are planning to visit Letchworth, why don't you plan to meet Suz and Ken at their calm and clean home?

    Danny2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I were looking for a quiet place to spend the night and we found just that at Hunky Dory B & B. Parking is on the side street next to the house and there is a ramp and stairs to get to the front door. Ken and Susie were very welcoming when we arrived and had a healthy snack platter waiting for us. We were shown our room which was spacious, comfortable, and secure - the room came with its own key. The HDTV and wireless internet worked well. Ken and Susie also liked to add a few personal touches which were very appreciated. Anything that we needed they were happy to oblige. They are both very good people and are easy to talk with. We had to leave early the next morning to get to a marathon, but otherwise we would have enjoyed their homemade breakfast which, if their chicken soup is any indication of, would have been fantastic. It was definitely an excellent and restful experience. You won't regret trying out this gem!

  • We had a great time at this property. We were a small group, so the generous living conditions offered us lots of spaces for privacy as well as common gathering. It was an especially good fit for our little ones with the provided toys and swing set. We had a great time and hope to visit again next year!

This refurbished 2-story farmhouse sits at the base of a hill on the outskirts of the small village of Canaseraga. Our 200+ acre farm is quiet and secluded, with beautiful views of the stars at night and many walking trails. There is horse boarding available for those who are interested. Please enjoy nature and the quiet, serene lush settings of this beautiful setting.
Our two story farmhouse is just minutes from Swain Ski Resort, Letchworth State Park, Alfred University, Corning Glass, Hornell, and the Finger Lakes Trail (which is accessible at the top of our road). The farmhouse offers peace and quiet in a serene setting, you can see deer, birds, and plenty of other wildlife. Its a beautiful spot to look at stars at night (far from light and all other kinds of pollution). There is a small stream down the road and nearby fishing holes. The water does contain sulfur, which is safe.
Our farm and neighborhood are in a beautiful country setting, with plenty of quiet. During hunting season, hunters are welcome to stay, but hunting is not allowed on the grounds in or near the house or on any of the grounds of our farm. There are plenty of easily accessible state lands nearby for hunting and fishing.
  • Enjoyed our stay very much. Dianne was very nice to even provide all kinds of food for making breakfast at the house. We had a good time.

  • Our stay wad just perfect. The place is big, clean, and was very well equipped. We enjoyed the fire place outside very much - it was an exciting experience for us. Thank you!!

  • Diane's place is beautiful. She went above and beyond what you may expect from any host with her attention to detail and very well stocked kitchen. If we could give more than 5 stars we would. Beautiful countryside, we can only recommended.

  • Jim and Dianne were wonderful hosts, answered all questions quickly and were available to help us in any way, especially with places to go for dining, exploring, etc. Cute farmhouse in a beautiful location, we enjoyed sitting on the deck at night watching the stars.

  • The place was great and Jim was very nice and accommodating, excellent secluded setting, would definitely recommend!

  • The farm house was a great experience: we enjoyed the quiet surroundings, the bonfire at night under the stars- amazing! Dianne an Jim are great hosts, generous and communicative. House is clean and spacious! 2 minutes from Lechworth park, about an hour and a half from Robert Treman park, Ithaca, buttermilk glen, etc. So plenty to do.

    aliza2017-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Dianne was an excellent host and the farmhouse is great! She went out of her way to help provide directions and suggested activities in the area. The house itself is clean and has plenty of space. The beds and couches were comfortable and the kitchen/bathroom was stocked with all the essentials and more! Definitely will book another night if in the area.

    Michael2016-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying here! It felt like being home, but was still only 20 minutes from Letchworth. It was really well stocked and private. They even provided board games and a stocked kitchen, including mix and local maple syrup for a delicous pancake breakfast. Dianne and Jim were very welcoming and made sure we were well set up when we arrived. They also let us meet their horse, which was a definite highlight! The house uses well water, which doesn't taste good, but they provided more than enough bottled water and juice for us. Finally, Dianne and Jim were remarkably generous with our checkout. It was nice to be able to take a more leisurely approach to our day, knowing that we'd still have time to pack and clean up after hiking. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

Visit to relax and escape your overly connected world. Enjoy our rural location in the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains with a labyrinth, Genesee River Trail, and walking trails.
Hardwood floors with radiant heat, handcrafted beds and tables, comfortable chairs, private baths. Two bedrooms w/queen bed in each. Each room can accommodate a portable single bed. Wrap around deck with gas BQ grill. Each bedroom has a private bath. Kitchen, dining area and sitting area with beautiful view.
Rural area is four miles from downtown Wellsville. Great fly fishing in the nearby Genesee River (within walking distance). Walk the labyrinth and trails and visit the energy wheel on top of hill, of our 80 acres.
  • This was my first experience renting from Airbnb and Dave just made it AMAZING! Trust me the house looks so much better than what you can see from the pictures, it has two large bedrooms with a fully functional bath each. Everything you need was prepared. There's also a gas BBQ grill on the back of the house and imagine how wonderful you can BBQ with friends and watch the stars at the same time. Dave even gave me a call asked what I need from grocery store and bought everything I asked for us! He also understood that we needed an extra bed and prepared a portable single bed for us before we arrived. We arrived midnight and Dave was waiting for us with his nice smile. Next day he told us what events will be around and some winery places to visit, which about 1 hour away from his house so we changed our initial plan and did what he recommended and we never regretted it. His own house is just steps away so you will never worry about if something happens. We would definitely choose Dave's house again when the snow season's coming and it would be a great place for staying during winter as well! Oh don't forget to write something before you leave on Dave's Guest Book, there are so many thanks on that book and you probably will find something interesting to you. Cozy, beautiful, quite house that worth visiting. I would just spend a few days there reading a book or doing nothing. Thanks so much for Dave's hosting, we really appreciate everything he did.

  • I booked this adorable cabin the day before we were supposed to arrive due to some last minute changes to our itinerary. Between the weather being less than ideal for camping and some last minute friends joining us for a concert, I decided that staying in a cabin was the best bet. I have to say that fate definitely played a role in all this. We didn't realize that we needed a get away like that until we arrived. Besides the concert, we had nothing planned so we were able to sleep in late, relax, enjoy the beautiful outdoors, and just talk to each other. There were no TVs, laptops, and very rare use of cell phones. We reconnected and recharged and it was incredible. When it was time to finally make our 5 hour drive home it proved to be very difficult actually leaving the cabin. We will undoubtedly be staying here again and we have told our friends and family about it. Also, definitely try the Labyrinth, it worked better than expected!

    Natalya2016-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is a cabin where you literally can go and just relax. You don't need to worry about anything. It's not buggy like a regular cabin, it's updated and spacious for its size. The two bed rooms are master suites with a private bathroom which was awesome. There is a stove which was great! We woke up every morning and had a big breakfast with a great view. Our stay was in the winter so I can only imagine how beautiful it is during the spring! We spent our time away from the cabin Atving so having a place like this to come back to and unwind was awesome. I will say if you plan on cooking to bring a pan or two. Dave, the Owner, has this place well equipped and it does have pans but they are tiny. For our stay, it was no problem because Dave came over and brought us pans- along with homemade cookies and desserts! HE WAS AN AMAZING HOST. This place gets a 10/10 and we will be back. :) can't say thanks enough to him. Guestbook is pretty cool too. Make sure you read it and sign it!

My place is close to Letchworth State Park, Stony Brook State Park, The Glen Iris Inn, and Woodlynn Hills Golf Course. You’ll love my place because of the outdoors space and the neighborhood. There is a restaurant across the street open year around. This place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. This is an open suite with a bedroom/living area, an eat-in kitchen and bathroom. There is also a small loft with a full mattress. Please look at the photos before booking.
Nearby train track with trains going by every now and then.
  • We stayed here as a family of four for a visit to Letchworth. It is in a great location for this. It would also be a perfect location for skiing. The home was clean and the bathroom is very nice and updated. The kitchen is in need of being restocked as there was only one full size glass, three dinner size plates, etc. We felt the loft was not safe for our children (age 5 and 7) to sleep on due to the low railing with wide gaps. If they needed to use the bathroom in the night it would be very easy to fall since the railing does not reach to their waist level and there is little room on the side of the bed to move around. It was also too small for two adults to sleep on - perhaps one adult could fit. The wifi wasn't working and after we asked about it, someone was sent out within 30 minutes to fix it. However, it could still only work outside the house and very weakly. The other main difficulty we had was that the water was not drinkable. Even eating off dishes washed in it was a problem. We ended up purchasing a case of water to use while there and had to change our meal plans since we couldn't use the water for cooking. Between the water, wifi and cramped sleeping arrangements due to the loss of the loft area we were frustrated at what we had paid for the accommodations.

  • This place was great - a welcome place to come back to after a long day. Perhaps the thing we liked most was the giant picture window that looked over the slopes of Swain resort. Even without snow it was great to watch the moon and stars track across the sky. The AC was going at 67 when we got there, a nice touch on a sweltering day. There were plenty of towels and a large kitchen area that we didn't use. A loft with a bed in addition to the main bedroom would be perfect for two couples or a couple with kids. Convenient parking and check-in/check-out policies added to an overall great stay.

    Robert2016-07-18T00:00:00Z

  • Very enjoyable place. A little out of the way, but such a pretty area and mostly quiet. There was a train that goes through nearby. Not a bother but noticeable. The facilities were very nice and suited us well. The internet was not the easiest to connect to in our place. Just hard to get a good signal but not a problem for us. My family with young children did quite well there and we highly recommend it. Safe, clean, perfect for a quite family weekend. Lots to do in the area if you know what to look for. We will probably stay there again in the future. Thank you so much!

  • After the stressful time we had with finding the condo and checking in, we were very satisfied. The positives were the great price, the lovely setting, the space so 3 of us had private sleeping, 2 bathrooms and the ability to have a kitchen to prepare food. We left early and returned late going to a conference at Houghton, so we're not able to enjoy the living room space very much. The deck is nice, but nothing to sit on. The check in problem: I messaged Mike the day before our arrival. Since no response by the next morning, we just mapped Swain and went there hoping to find something. We tried knocking on doors in town with no success. Finally found some condos but not sure we were in the right place. There were signs on some doors with a phone # to contact with no names we recognized but wrote down the # and drove out of town until we had cell service to call the #. After we reached Dana and found that he knew Michael and was the one who could help us, we were very relieved.

  • My partner and I just spent nine nights at Michael's condo in Swain and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. Michael's directions to the condo were very easy to follow and we had no trouble finding it. The condo was clean, spacious, and comfortable. More than enough room for the two of us. In fact, a large family could be comfortable there. We particularly enjoyed the view from our balcony, and spent many mornings and evenings watching the deer. We had such a peaceful, relaxing stay. The only problem we encountered was quite minor... and that was easily remedied with an extension cord found in a drawer. Although Michael was out of the area during our stay, he provided us with several contact numbers, in case we needed anything or encountered any problems. We never needed to contact anyone but it was nice having that info, just in case. We enjoyed our stay immensely and really hope to stay there again during our next visit... only we want to stay longer. Nine nights just wasn't enough, especially during the beautiful autumn season! Advice for future travelers staying at Michael's Swain condos... (we stayed in condo 1, so this information only pertains to condo 1)..... *There are no TVs in the bedrooms. This wasn't a problem for us but it may be problematic for anyone who tends to fall asleep to the noise of a tv. *If you have a lot of electronic devices, bring a few extension cords or power strips. There are plenty of outlets upstairs but few easily-accessible downstairs. *There are lots of blankets, towels, and fans. Your comfort is pretty much ensured. *Bring large cone coffee filters for the coffee maker. There are coffee filters in the kitchen but they aren't the correct size. *Bring bottled water for drinking/cooking, unless you don't mind hard water. Thanks again Michael! Hope to stay again in the future!

  • It was easy to find the apartment, even if it looked like a problem at the beginning. It was a definitely small town, after all. Welcome sign was on the door, and the apartment itself was welcoming. I found it clean, with new improvements. Upstairs there was a kitchen and a dining table (that we had time to use) and a large living room (that we unfortunately did not have time to use) with very comfortable looking couches. The sleep was comfortable, linens and towels were provided. I liked that bedrooms were not adjacent to each other, it added extra privacy. Apartment is twenty minutes of the easy drive from Letchworth Park. I would recommend it to my friends who will be visiting this area. There is an Arrow Mart (24 hours) on the way from park where you can buy groceries at the gas station (junction Rt 70 and 24 North) and a Dunkin Donuts. Thank you again for letting us your place, we liked it very much.

  • This experience was great! Michael was very accommodating. We reached very late into the night and he was okay with it, he left the doors unlocked for us. The condo was spacious and cozy and although we stayed only for a few hours to sleep, we loved it! And, we wish we could've stayed a bit more and enjoyed the beauty of the place. Definitely going back if we visit that region again !

We present a clean country cabin, boardinghouse style. All linens provided. Breakfast and supper included. SatTV. Endless hot water on demand. Covered porches and decks. Easy on site riverfront and WAG Trail access. Complimentary bottled water.
This room is cozy, clean and quiet with queen sized bed, has view of Genesee River from window. DishTV. Bottled water provided bedside. All linens and bedding provided.
We are in the Genesee River valley. Surrounded by farmlands and forest. On a dead end dirt road. Deer frolic in the fields, the trout leap on your line. Amish buggies roll down the roads. The WAG Trail, a NYS DEC hiking trail runs through our property. It was created from the old Wellsville , Addison and Galeton Railroad, the Sole Leather line. We have easy on site access to both the trail and riverfront. Enjoy the drum of the ruffed grouse, peep of frogs and the serene sigh of the river passing by. Hummingbirds and eagles share airspace. Use the telescope to study the moon, the stars or perhaps Mars. Roast a marshmallow or two over the fire. Drift to sleep as the spruce trees whisper.
  • Erica and John were fantastic hosts. They were both very welcoming and they made sure our stay was comfortable. We stayed for one night. Erica made us dinner upon our arrival and breakfast before we left. Erica is a fantastic cook! They do have two dogs but the dogs are the sweetest and won't even hurt a fly. The dogs don't even bark. The room was extremely comfortable and cozy. The entire home was nice and clean. If you are staying in the area, def. stay here!

    Amy2016-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Our second visit to WAG trail was as lovely as our first. Despite cold and dreary weather, the visit with Erica and John and the fire kept us warm. Such fun and friendly hosts - and Erica is an amazing cook! We will definitely be back!

  • Down right best BnB ever!!! We have stayed at many different Airbnb's however Erica and John were by far the greatest hosts we have ever experienced. Erica is a depth of knowledge, a true lifelong learner with so much information to share about many subject areas. They cooked a variety of wonderful meals for dinner and breakfast, gave us a tour of their gorgeous property, had an awesome bonfire the night we arrived and made our stay beyond comfortable & fun for our 2 year old son. We just simply could not say more positive things about this location, do yourselves a favor and book this Airbnb as soon as you can!! hot commodity, bet it will be fully booked once travelers discover this little jem :)

  • What was not to love?! Great hospitality, food, bed, n atmosphere. It was so relaxing after riding thru beautiful country all day. Erica, Trip n Traveler made us feel right at home. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Looking forward to our next stay with you all.

    Jeff2016-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • The place was super cool and clean. Erica is a great ‍! You will enjoy staying with them because it is a lot of fun. They made us feel like family they love. Highly recommend their place if you would love a nature setting. We will miss them and their remarkably well-behaved dogs: Trippy and Traveler! ❤️

  • Erica and John were amazing hosts. We arrived later than planned, and dinner was still hot and ready when we got there. Great conversation, hot water and a good sleep were to top. The area was beautiful with great trails, and the home itself is perfect. If you leave hungry, it's your own fault ;)

    Lindsay2016-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • OMG We have never had a vacation so perfect! Erica is the quintessential hostess! Perfect accomodations - exceeded all expectations! Food was, in my humble opinion - 5 She never served the same meal twice and each meal was food channel quality! The grounds around the cabin are full of magical trails and being right on the Genesee River is fun as you are able to hear kayakers and tube floaters! John and Erica have 2 super special "kids"...Trip is a beautiful loving pit bull with a flirty disposition... Traveler is a sweet old man (Rottweiler) with a mello attitude and kisses if ya want them! The best recommendation we can give WAG Trail Inn is that we will be (URL HIDDEN) often as possible!

  • Peg and Bob treated us like family while we stayed at their lovely home! We were in frequent contact in the weeks leading up to our stay, and Peg always answered our questions quickly. When we arrived, everything was just as we expected. Peg left helpful notes throughout the house, and we found everything there that we needed and then some -- a great collection of dishes, pots, pans, and cooking essentials in the kitchen, magazines, books, and DVDs for our entertainment, a beautiful fire pit and outdoor setup, and tons of information about the area. The cabin was in wonderful condition and we had an amazing stay. Thanks for making my first experience with Airbnb so easy and stress-free! We are looking forward to coming back to visit soon!

    Sarah2015-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • It was an awesome experience. A home away from home! Really well kept, organized and clean. The location was beautiful and cabin had everything. I would absolutely recomment this to all and definately go here again :) Thank you Peggy and Bob for letting us share your slice of heaven !

  • Cozy country cabin in the woods was just that! Peggy and Bob are wonderful hosts and great people to meet. Their cabin was more than we expected. Everything from the beautiful home and decor, the hospitality of the hosts ( they had a bottle of wine for us and a fire lit upon arrival!), generosity in sharing of any household contents (ie: towels, condiments, etc.) peaceful surroundings and many more made this cabin absolutely perfect for us. Letchworth State Park was easy to find and an awesome sight to behold! We definitely recommend staying here and we hope to return for a ski trip next time to check out Swain Ski Resort :-)

    Jennifer2014-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • What a pleasure it was to share my Cousin Peggy's beautiful cabin with my closest girlfriends ( they got a kick out of my Schaefer mug and sweatshirt). It was the perfect location for our first annual knitting weekend. It was so clean and tidy both inside and out when we got there. Thanks to Bob we had the best camp fire and the tiki torches gave plenty of light. Thanks too for letting me know about the marshmallow sticks for our s'mores ( we washed and put back in closet) We walked both trails and I shared about the "Fairy Doors". There was a deer on the new trail with a fawn! Everyone loved the decor both inside and out. All the beds are so comfortable , we all slept well each night. We can't wait to come back next year!!

    Diane2015-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Our host contacted us ahead of time and sent us specific driving directions, arranged for us to have firewood for the week, and left the key for us because we arrived in the evening. Peg was very easy to contact and super helpful whenever we had a question. The cabin was even more beautiful than the pictures. It was well stocked with toiletries, towels, a hairdryer!, Kitchen appliances and ingredients if we needed them. There are notes through out the cabin that helped us with our stay (instructions about the heater, kitchen, etc.). There was also a handwritten map of local trails. We found the cabin very relaxing, a retreat away from the city we are from. The area is beautiful and quiet and the few people we interacted with were friendly. We would definitely love to come back to Peg and Bob's cozy cabin. We took a day trip to Niagara falls during our stay but if we are able to come back we would love to go to Watkins Glen. The cabin is less than 30 mins from Letchworth state park which we enjoyed. Thanks Peg and Bob for a wonderful stay!

    Mai2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Had an excellent time, the cabin is VERY nice! Peg and Bob are the perfect Airbnb hosts, non-intrusive and respectful of privacy yet always available if you need anything! Will definitely come again, highly recommended.

  • Cozy, inviting and lots of amenities to make your stay perfect! Wake up with coffee on the porch as you watch the sunrise. Hike the trail, it's totally worth it. Then sip a glass of wine and look at all the stars in the evening.

You’ll love my place because of being able to camp next to a gurgling brooke! This place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets). This is a campsite for your use to do the true camping. Not a campsite with a bar and pavilion and showers and pool. No, bring your tent and your air mattress and your portapotty and bug spray and chill next to the stream.
Make the space your own, and remember, this is pure nature camping. No negs about skeeters, you know what it's all about!
You can park just south of the Amish shed (or east of the fruit stand) on state property just off Rte 19 (basically corner of Rte 19 and 305 is where to park) Be sure to buy some fruit from Gloria!

Cabin Creek Hide-Away - This 100 acre forest property is just 15 minutes from Letchworth State Park, and features a very secluded, rustic cabin hidden deep in the woods. You can disappear here! No one will find you until you are ready to come out! The cabin is off the grid, with modern conveniences. Swain Mountain Ski Resort is just 4 miles South, and 7,700 acres of NYS Wild Life Management Area is only 1/2 mile East!
The space is 100 Acres of private forest! Guests can bring a tent, RV, or... stay in the cabin! The off-grid cabin is lit by old fashioned oil lamps for a soft, romantic glow, but also has convenient 12V solar powered lights. The LP gas fireplace is perfect for relaxing in the evening, getting cozy on the couch, or enjoying the view from the comfortable double bed. The beauty of the forest streams in with the sunlight through the large bank of windows. Morning coffee and evening toddies are accompanied by the sound of birds singing and chipmunks scurrying in the woods. Everything tastes better out on the large covered deck, which is perfect for grilling as the sun goes down! Even during a passing summer shower, the soft patter of the raindrops on the tin roof is so peaceful! We love coming here to be alone, and we know you will too! LP gas powers the hot shower, cook stove, half-size refrigerator, and fireplace. The bathroom is complete with a natural composting toilet, gravity fed hot shower, towels, body wash, and shampoo. The kitchen comes furnished with a percolating coffee pot, plates, cups, mugs, silverware, pots, pans, and cooking utensils. The covered deck is furnished with a charcoal grill and patio set. The fire ring is just a few yards from the cabin. Firewood is available for purchase, or forage for your own close by. NOTE: December 1 - April 14 this is a 3/4 mile hike-in or drop camp. Between the terrain and the winter weather, there is a chance you won't be able to drive your vehicle in, but you can park it at our farm. The cabin is dry due to exposed plumbing, but we provide a camp shower, and water is brought in to the cabin for you! Note: During our Winter Wilderness Drop Camp Season (December 1 - April 14), the cabin is dry, meaning that there is no running water in the cabin. Water is hauled in for you, with dispensers placed in the kitchen & bathroom. A 12 volt camp shower is provided in the bathroom, and water is heated on the stove. Our composting toilet is unaffected by winter weather.
The best part about the neighborhood is that you are deep in the forest at high elevation! There are no neighbors! We deliver a wonderful experience in a rugged area that is sparsely populated and seldom traveled. We like to joke that the Cabin Creek night-life is dominated by the wildlife... but that's no joke! In addition to the ever-present squirrels, chip monks & racoon, it is very common to see deer and wild turkey in our forest. The yipping-howls of coyotes are commonly heard after dark while guests sit around the campfire, and seldom-seen bobcats can be heard calling in the night several times a year. Very rare pine martin have been spotted on the property, along with bald eagles & great horned owls. Bears do frequent our area, coming from the 7,700 acre wildlife management area across the valley. Believe us or not, guests originally from Montana reported hearing Timber Wolf howls. Then during the 2015 deer season, an Eastern Timber Wolf was observed as it passed by 2 different tree stands, judging by its extreme size and near-black color (Later in January, long, low howls were heard along the base of the ridge. Definitely not coyotes!). So if you're looking for an experience in a wild area... this is as wild as it gets in the entire Northeast!
  • Dave and Terry were easy to communicate with, and the cabin was wonderful. Would love to go back!

    Lauren2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • So we had the absolute pleasure to not only stay at Terry's picturesque and gorgeously quaint cabin in the woods, but to also meet Pastor Dave! Dave was extremely kind and helped us get our things up to the cabin (the dirt road was snowed in and our 4wd couldn't make it). That only added to the secluded feeling the cabin oozes. We got there right when the snow was turning into Spring and we got to see the season change. It was amazing, fresh, crisp and a very relaxing trip. The cabin has everything you'd need for a getaway and has hikes and waterfalls all around it. Lechworth State park is only a 15 minute drive and is a must if you're in the area. We were truly amazed by it and will definitely be back in Autumn. Had some great conversations with Pastor Dave who told us all about the area and it's history, which it has plenty of. Can't praise this place enough and recommend it to anyone looking to switch off from the world and just take it easy. Thanks guys!

    Ilija2017-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was great! It was the perfect size for my wife and I on our honeymoon and had pretty much everything we needed. It was way up in the woods in a very private and secluded location. We spent three nights had lots to do. We went hiking on the Finger Lakes Trail, went to Letchworth State Park, and the Corning Museum of Glass (about an hour's drive away). Terry met us and was very helpful with everything.

    Christopher2016-09-14T00:00:00Z

  • Terry and David's Hide-Away cabin is better than we could have imagined. It was everything we wanted in an escape from the hustle of the city. We were able to truly relax and disconnect from the world while still feeling safe and well taken care of. I would definitely recommend this setting if you are looking for some time to recharge and reconnect with nature. It is just minutes from Letchworth National Park which is an absolute must see. We look forward to coming back as soon as we can find time to get away again to further explore their beautiful property.

    Sarah2016-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • We LOVED our stay at Cabin Creek! It's a secluded cabin in nature which was just what we were looking for for our 3 night getaway. The cabin is on the Peck's property so it's very safe. The Peck's are very nice and welcoming people which made our stay that much more enjoyable. The property is beautiful and very close to Letchworth State Park where we did most of our hiking and exploring. I highly recommend this property if you're looking to relax and go off the grid for a few days. Can't wait to return one day and explore more of the property!

    Michelle2016-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Terry and Dave's cabin was beautifully designed, private and a perfect addition to our exploration of upstate New York. It was an adventure in itself and really made us feel like we were staying in the middle of nature. The cabin was spacious, clean and quiet, and really gave a rustic, but very comfortable vibe to our post-hike evenings. Dave was extremely helpful and responsive, and very understanding of our late arrival, taking the time to explain the cabin and local surroundings to us. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend this to a friend!

My place nestled in wine country on Loon Lake is ready for the perfect getaway (Dansville Balloon Festival, Naples Grape Festival)! Three bedrooms (sleeps up to 7 people), living room with a futon, eat in kitchen, laundry on site and central air conditioning. Easy access to the lake via our private dock.
Our house sits on top of the hill and is just a few feet away from the lake. Enjoy the serenity of this crystal clear lake by swimming, kayaking or just sitting with a good book.
This is a small town neighborhood nestled in wine country of the NY Finger Lakes and NYS Parks. Within 30 minutes or less you can visit Letchworth State Park, Stonybrook Park, Canandaigua Lake, Keuka Lake and Seneca Lake. There is one restaurant right on Loon Lake, Laf a Lot. You can drive to it or boat to it. Other local area hot spots are just minutes away.

  • There are 2 houses on the property. The larger one we rented is across the street from the lake. It was clean and roomy. We were slightly confused about parking at first because our Tahoe with bike rake didn't fit in either of the allocated spaces well, but we made it work once my bike was off and we parked diagonally. This space was perfect for our quick weekend trip. If one was looking for a week stay having a place with better/more direct access to outside for grilling or to sit would be desireable. Sharing the dock with the other cottage was fine as our neighbors were very friendly. I however, felt like I was impinging on their privacy.

  • Host very communicative and responsive to our questions and concerns. This was a beautiful rustic spot for a cottage getaway-tranquil lake and great views from the deck of the cottage.Excellent value for the money and a real family cottage feeling.

Our cozy four season lake house is located in the beautiful Finger Lakes region on quiet and private Loon Lake. This home is perfect for both family vacations and couple getaways where you might enjoy swimming, fishing, boating or kayaking. We are located just a half hour to many of the wine trails on Canandaigua, Keuka and Seneca Lakes.
  • Connie was an amazing host. The house was beautiful, clean and well prepared for guests. She offered use of kayaks and paddle boat and had anything you might need to enjoy your weekend. She was responsive to emails and was flexible when it came to check in and out times. I would definitely stay here again!

  • The home was wonderful especially for a family or friends getaway with direct access to the lake. Very comfortable and homey! Connie was wonderful! Great for fishing and kayaking!

  • We had a great time spending time away from the busy life of wedding planning and a small break before back to school. The weather was cool but the cottage is so cute, staying inside was a treat as well!

  • Had a wonderful stay at Connie's cottage. The outside was absolutely beautiful and peaceful! Thanks so much!

  • I booked this house to have a bridal shower for my sister, as she had a lot of out of state friends that would be attending. This was a great way for them to spend some time together just having fun and catching up. The bridal shower was a huge success! Having the use of the kayaks, floaties and paddle boat was an added bonus. I hope to have the opportunity to stay here again. Thank you, Connie, for being such a wonderful host.

  • We arrived late. But we had great fun kayaking on the lake the next morning. It's very cozy, and clean, suitable for family or friends.

  • I can't even begin to describe how wonderful this place was. The pictures and description don't do it justice! We arrived to a warm welcome on a chalkboard in the front! It is such a remote location, tucked away in a beautiful area full of trees and wildlife. It was great to get away for the long weekend and escape the real world. Having morning coffee on the porch with the view of the lake, to sitting by a cozy fire star gazing. Everything was so neat, clean and well kept. My family was beyond impressed and we will definitely be back again!

  • What a beautiful place to stay! Thank you, Dave and Sue! The Cozy Cabin was cozy beyond our expectations. Renovated and tastefully decorated. The hosts have thought of virtually everything, lots of info on the area, great communication. Comfy beds with nice bedding, plenty of towels. Beautiful fully equipped kitchen. The building itself is very solid, with strong wooden stairs, gorgeous flooring and wrap around deck with an amazing view. Highly recommend this place!

  • We stayed here on our way to Niagara Falls. We had an amazing time during our stay. The cabin was very clean, and perfectly accurate with the description of photos on the listing. Since it is summers, it was all green around with lake view. David was kind to leave a few gallons of water. Since water supply is from the lake opposite, he wasn't sure if it was ok to drink tap water. We reached at 10pm and it was easy to find the place. David was very responsive to all questions that I had. Actually his instructions was what helped find the cabin even in the dark. Cabin does not have wifi or cell phone reception. So you can have a real vacation here! I will definitely consider staying here again. Thanks!

  • This is our second time at Cozy Cabin. We absolutely love everything about it. David has thought of every detail to make your stay enjoyable. It is a great place to relax an unwind. The cabin sits in a beautiful valley that has to be spectacular in the fall.

  • We were welcomed with a note on a cute chalkboard outside the door. The picture's don't do justice to how nice and well maintained this property is. Our host left drinking water for us in case we didn't like the well water. There were also books about the property and surrounding areas which were very informative. Cozy Cabin was well thought out with all the amenities we needed. We loved not having to compete for our kids attention with the internet or (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) but If you are someone who cannot "Unplug" this place may not be for you.

    Gary2016-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely and peaceful cabin! Our family absolutely loved our time here. Beautiful view of Alma pond. I found the deck to be the perfect place for a morning cup of coffee. Our young girls were enchanted by the songs of the birds and "peepers." It's great that it's a reasonable distance to town but still isolated enough to unplug, relax and get away. Great hosts, comfortable and beautiful facilities equipped with everything we needed for a weekend away.

    Aaron & Laura 2016-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Cabin was stunning, area was equally beautiful. Warm welcome on the chalkboard, grill and fire pit also available at this location, extremely well maintained property, extremely quiet during day and night. Very, very relaxing. We ended up driving many miles all around the area for Dark Sky Park and Pa.Grand Canyon and had no issues at all. Would love to come back in winter but I would be 100% certain to bring an SUV as it looks to be very adventuresome in the snow! Something that may help future travelers: I use TMobile and my GF uses Verizon, she would get service on Verizon a lot up in the area whereas on T-Mobile I would have it very infrequently. At the cabin we were both on zero service. But like the posting indicates, a few miles in either direction and you're okay. Only note this due to it being nice to have service occasionally for directions, etc....we never got lost up there and found our way around very easily.

Greenwood Hill Farm invites you to enjoy a nights stay on 125 beautiful acres of fields and woodland. Three bedrooms (guest capacity 5) are available. In addition to a comfortable nights rest and a complimentary breakfast, you can enjoy walking the woodland trails, participating in farm activities, star gazing, observing our Finnsheep, pigs, goat and horse, or simply kicking back and relaxing. We are located 15 minutes from Alfred and 45 minutes from Letchworth and Stony Brook Parks.
The "South Room" is one of three rooms listed. • Children under two are free.
  • We stayed 3 nights together with our 18 month old son and 4 year old daughter, and it was safe, fun and educational for all of us. While it is essential to keep an eye on the kids for precaution, they are able to roam much more widely and freely than in the city. The farm grounds are scenic and house the house is comfortable, and tasteful. There is plenty of space both indoors and outdoors to direct the toddler to, without needing him to be held back. The meals (Angie's delicious cooking!), toddler-safe toys, educational experiences on the farm (thank you Jeff!), comfortable accommodations, beautifully maintained grounds, happy and healthy animals, and most importantly the gracious time and company of our hosts are all beyond 5 stars. Your stay can be as laid back as you want, or if you have a thirst for learning like my family and I, Jeff and Angie have so much to share. And all that for very affordable prices that goes back into the maintenance of this place. This is truly a labor of love by Jeff and Angie done for the good of all people who cannot easily experience what they have to offer. If you are wondering whether to give greenwood hill farm stay a try, don't hesitate. There is so much more we haven't done on the farm, and so much more we haven't explored in the neighboring areas and state parks - so we will be back. :)

  • I adored my stay and was made to feel most welcome. Angie and her husband were respectful of space, but also wonderfully warm and inviting. The farm is beautiful and the room most clean and comfortable. PLUS a delicious breakfast, snacks and coffee provided. Wonderful value and a super all round experience. I am particularly fond of their dear dog, Duke. I would absolutely stay here again and thank my hosts for a super time.

  • Our stay here was a wonderful, relaxing experience. We were quickly brought in as part of the host's everyday family life - eating dinner, playing games, feeding animals, and picking veggies together. My five year old was beyond excited about all of the animals- sheep, chickens, pigs, ducks, and a horse, goat and barn cat. The house and room we stayed in are beautiful, yet functional for farm-life, and we were given access to the kitchen and living area, and a private bathroom for guests. The house is out on country roads, surrounded by other farms, and very quiet at night. If you are looking for exercise or to take a walk, there is plenty of room to do so. Breakfast and dinner were lovely, and the host was generous in nature. This place is what makes airbnb so special. We would most likely never have discovered this place without it. We would definitely stay again!

  • Spotlessly clean and modern amenities in a spectacular setting in the high hills of the southern tier of upstate New York. But even more wonderful were the down-to-earth conversations and heartfelt laughter with Angie & Jeff. Instant friendship with these guys! Jeff's personal tour of the farm with its gentle livestock and older buildings made us really appreciate the rugged and beautiful history of this region. Angie's full farm breakfast was fresh and delicious (including excellent handling of dietary restrictions). We left well-prepared for another big day of cycling adventures in the area.

  • I really had NO idea what to expect when i booked this Airbnb for a weekend stay with my husband and two kids. I was told by many that coming up to Alfred for a graduation weekend, there would be definite shortage of hotel/motel options. So i looked into other options and ended up here. What i didn't expect was what a TREAT Farmstay at Greenwood Hill would be!! We arrived on Friday and were greeted by Jeff, who couldn't have been more accomodating and friendly. Within minutes of getting ourselves aquainted my 2 girls (7 and 11) were off to the barn where they got to not only HOLD but bottle feed a baby lamb....and then we were off to the chicken coops where Jeff so kindly let my daughter's gather the eggs (mulit colored, facinating) from the day. Both Angie and Jeff were so personable and sweet. If you wanted to chit chat they were very amiable but if you are more to yourselves and private they respected that too. They are such interesting and caring people, who make you feel comfortable in their home, without hesitation. The rooms were super clean, comfortable and cozy. We had our own bathroom which was also clean, spacious and private. Angie prepared a fantastic breakfast of fresh baked breads, bagels, cold cereal, yogurt, etc. SUCH A FANTASTIC PLACE. We found nice restaurants for dinner in the nearby town of Wellsville that Angie recommended. I highly recommend this farm if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing and peaceful weekend. I hope one day to return!

  • Angie and Jeff have a wonderful farm and are very welcoming people. We had a very pleasant time there and we definititely recommend (actually, we are very likely to come back ourselves!). Don't miss a dinner with them as well, because the food is very good. They will do everything in their power so you can enjoy your stay. Thank you!

  • We loved our stay with Angie and Jeff. We traveled from Los Angeles with our 3 kids (8, 6, 2 year olds). We only had one day between visiting family and various states parks for the farmstay, but Angie and Jeff made sure we got to do all the activities that we were interested in. Activities included touring the farm and vegetable gardens, pond; sampling potatoes, green beans, tomatoes, cucumbers from the garden, feeding the horse, pigs, chickens, ducks, goat, sheep; collecting eggs for breakfast; watching the farrier work on Didi the horse; visiting the family dairy farm across the street and feeding the baby calves by bottle; and picking blackberries and raspberries in the woods. The home itself is beautiful. Our rooms were very comfortable. Bathroom was clean. There was a closet full of games and Legos for older and younger kids. Angie is a wonderful cook! We had a lovely dinner on the patio which included vegetables from the garden and hot breakfast in the morning. My kids who are generally picky eaters and turn away vegetables, enthusiastically ate all that was offered. I would bring them back for this reason alone! They say their favorite part of the farm was the garden. My favorite part of the stay was meeting Angie, Jeff, and their family. They are simply genuine and warm people. They treated us like family. Our only regret is not having more time to spend on the farm. Hopefully we'll return for another visit in coming years!

  • Angie, Jeff and family made us feel very welcome. We were in the area for a family reunion and we enjoyed our stay on Greenwood Hill Farm very much. The breakfasts were very good with the farm fresh eggs and they gave a good start to the day. The homey peaceful atmosphere was very relaxing.
