Lugares para alojarse en Blisland
Escape to the beautiful wilderness of the North Cornish coast, close to Port Isaac & Polzeath. Stay in a handcrafted shepherd's hut with curved ash beams & Salamander wood burner on a converted railway line. Relax in your own private hot tub with only the local cows for company. Or explore the nearby woods, go swimming, fishing & boating on the magical freshwater lake. A perfect break for couples or a solo traveller wanting to unwind. For updates check "Free Range Escapes" on social media
The shepherd's hut is based at Cornish Tipi Holidays/Weddings also known as Tregildrans Quarry and this is our beautiful second hut at this unique site. Both huts have their own individual character, the biggest difference is that Bluebell hut has its own wood fired couples hot tub - perfect for relaxing in style in the great outdoors. The site has a woodland valley folded around a clear, spring-fed lake created from the old quarry. The hut is at the top of a secret 20 acres clothed in ferns and bluebells, oak and meadowsweet. Undisturbed by modern agrochemicals and herbicides the natural ecosystem has flourished, providing a thriving habitat for flowers and butterflies, birds and mammals. It’s a place a world apart from the rush and clutter of the modern holiday experience, with an atmosphere that makes you forget the world outside, and just lounge, ramble, or potter about in a boat. The Shepherd's Hut itself is situated in a recently reclaimed part of the site on the old railway line which was taken out in the 60's, reclaimed by nature until now! Guests will have full access to the whole site & all its faculties. 20 acres of woodland to explore and a freshwater lake to swim, boat and fish in. As well as your own secluded garden space complete with an open fire and garden furniture & couples wood fired hot tub. The shepherds hut has its own private compositing loo and wooden shower shed (made partly from pallets) both outside. You are of course allowed full access to any of the other loo/shower blocks on site. There is also electricity!! Solar powered lights & USB sockets make it easy to charge items or read a book after the sun goes down. However please be aware that there are not any standard plug sockets in the hut. The aim is to have created a space which makes you feel like you are out in nature & the elements but with more comfort than basic camping.
At Free Range Escapes you are a five minute drive from some of the prettiest villages and most spectacular coastline in Cornwall. You can buy fresh mackerel, scallops and crab in the fish cellars at Port Isaac within 10 minutes of leaving your Shepherd's Hut, go sea kayaking under soaring cliffs at Port Quin or take a surfing class on Polzeath’s trend setting shoreline. We have some phenomenal walking right on our doorstep; the Cornwall Coastal Footpath, the Saints’ Way, but unfortunately a car is still usually needed to get you there. 15 minutes up the coast brings you to Tintagel Castle and the ancient village of Boscastle, and the same distance inland lets you walk the rugged solitude of Bodmin Moor. We have a variety of good shops, pubs and restaurants in the area including the now nationally famous Seafood Restaurant in Padstow – book a return with the late water taxi across the moonlit estuary from Rock for a special evening out. You can go on fishing trips, bird watching walks, sea safaris, sailing and windsurfing courses, learn to ride, golf, play tennis, see a touring theatre production, work in watercolours, take a master class in seafood cookery, explore Cornish history, attend a music or literary festival, or just go cycling together on the beaufiful Camel Trail nearby. If you’re prepared to go a little further afield try a day trip by tiny plane to the glorious Isles of Scilly off Land’s End, or a trip to the Minack Theatre set outside on the cliffs high above Porthcurno, or closer by visit the massive biodomes of the ever popular Eden Project.
No me decepcionó.

Before booking please see booking details under The Space below.... The Barn is a recently converted, luxury romantic retreat situated in a secluded, hidden valley overlooking the Warleggan river. Surrounded by wildlife, majestic oaks and bluebell woods, it is within easy reach of many of Cornwall's unique locations.
A beautiful, recently converted (2016) stone barn in a private 14 acre estate with stunning views of the Glynn valley overlooking the Warleggan river, The Barn at Lower Tredinnick provides a luxury detached cottage with everything you need for a total escape from it all. Booking details: We offer a 3 day weekend break (arrive Fri, leave Mon) and/or a 4 day mid-week break (arrive Mon, leave Friday) or any combination of these, particularly during standard UK holidays (high season). In 2020 these are: spring half term 14-24 Feb, Easter holiday 3-19 April, summer half term 22 May - 1 June, summer holidays 24 Jul - 7 September, autumn half term 19 Oct-2 Nov, Christmas & New Year 2020 negotiable. Out of high season, we are often happy to be flexible so please do get in touch if Mon - Fri or Fri - Mon doesn't suit your plans. The Barn is designed by award winning sustainable local architects, Arco 2. Heated throughout by an under-floor eco air-source system, fully insulated and double-glazed, you will always be warm and comfortable. Electricity is 100% renewable. The kitchen is equipped with A rated dishwasher, washer drier, induction cooker, fridge freezer, toaster, electric kettle and all you might need in a home from home (if there is something you need that's not there we will endeavour to provide it). We supply a small honesty larder of basics, such as tea, coffee, oil and vinegar, salt, pepper & herbs; please replace what you use and/or add to the store. The living room has a French "Godin" woodburner with a generous supply of free logs, providing extra warmth in the winter months and a large comfortable sofa with wonderful views over the valley. There's a wireless music system for you to plug into, books, rainy day games, maps and local information. There are bifold glass doors which give access to a balcony where you can sit and enjoy meals outside. We have a charcoal barbecue & utensils you can borrow, just ask and bring your own charcoal. Upstairs, there is modern shower room and the bedroom has a comfortable king size double bed and all the space you need to store your belongings. It is decorated in a restful blue and is further enhanced with soft lighting. There are french windows leading to a secluded south facing patio where you can sit out and lose yourself in the peaceful surroundings. Please get in touch for any further information. We are sometimes able to be flexible about arrival and leaving times depending on our bookings. We have a travel cot for babies (babes in arms) if needed at no extra charge. Unfortunately we are not able to accomodate children due to the wild nature of the property (built on the edge of a substantial drop and near a river, etc.) We cannot accommodate dogs or any pets as, however pleasant and obedient, they do have an effect on the local wildlife, which we are trying to encourage. Please bring your own beach towels.
This is cornish countryside at its best. Walk in the woods or stroll by the river. Or just sit outside and enjoy the view. Buzzards fly over head, marsh tits feed on our feeder and the butterflies and wild flowers are prolific. There is no light pollution so on cloudless nights the stars are fantastic. Watch out for shooting stars!

¡Ideal!

Set in 3.5 acres of paradise on the edge of Bodmin moor. A crystal clear stream meanders through woods with two waterfalls, a beautiful lake and bridges. Our own pine forest and Decked bbq and hot tub area. Millpool Lodge has entrance lobby, a lounge, two bedrooms, kitchen, two toilets, shower and outside seating. Close to Eden project, Polzeath, Rock, Fowey, Cardinham Woods, Camel Bike Trail, Siblyback and Colliford Lakes Lanhydrock House, and the open moorland walks with abundent wild life .
A truly magical garden. Full of wildlife, squirrels, rabbits and goldfinches and even herons and ducks flock to the lake and stream. Two bridges and waterfalls provide calming back ground sound. You will not want to leave this little piece of paradise. There is decked bbq and hot tub area with night lighting ideal for socialising and enjoying the great views. A picnic area through the pine woods creates an ideal day time area for play and keeping fit . In the more formal part of the garden there is a fountain and night time lighting, with plenty of places to sit and enjoy an evening by the stream and lake. We like to encourage the wildlife, so we leave areas of the meadow, woods and lake free for the wild flowers to grow and encourage some of our rarer wildlife in to the garden. The Lodge has two bedrooms one double bedroom and one small bedroom with a sturdy bunk bed with comfortable mattresses. Ideal for 2 adults and 2 children. We also have a travel cot available. There is a footpath leading to Cardinham woods, and direct access to the moors. We are close also to Lanhydrock House, Colliford Lake, Siblyback Watersports Park, and Eden project and St Breward (Poldark Country). Easy access to both the south and north coast. Lovely Fowey being our nearest south coast venue, and Polzeath, Rock and Padstow on the north coast. Particular mention should be made of the excellent cycle trails from Bodmin to Padstow via Wadebridge, and also the cycle track from Bodmin up to the Moors. Cardinham and Lanhydrock woods also have amazing national cycle tails - Ideal for a family bike trip and highly recommended. We also offer a range of watersports activities. A day out on our 7.5 Jeanneau power boat visiting all the coves and beautiful waters of the Fal estuary. Wakeboarding and waterskiing, coastal kayak tour to get close to nature and visit some of our quiet and inaccessible coves. We can also advise on a complete list of activities as we are ideally placed to enjoy both north and south coast. We are right on the edge of an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The moors are exceptionally quiet and beautiful at any time of year. For getting in touch with nature and beautiful landscape it cannot be beaten. Moorland cattle and ponies mingle with Stags and Roedeer making an idyllic country scene. We are central to all areas in Cornwall being half a mile from the arterial A30. So an ideal spot for exploring wonderful Cornwall. We are always happy to offer advice to make the most of your holidays. The gardens are magnificent at any time of year, and you will find great tranquility and beauty in this wonderful garden.
We are close to the Eden Project and just 12 miles from either the north or south Cornish coast. On the edge of Bodmin Moor which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Close to Lanhydrock, Eden Project, Siblyback Lake, Colliford Lake, Camel Trail, Cardinham Wood Walking and Bike Trails, Fowey and Rock and Polzeath. There are many wonderful walks and places of historic interest to visit. We are also just half a mile from the main artery A30 which means you have easy access to the whole of Cornwall. We will leave a guide of recommended places to visit. But always check out the Conrwall Tourist Board site it has loads of information.

Stay in this hand-crafted Shepherd's hut that is hidden away in Primrose Cottage's beautiful garden. The Shepherd's hut has a toasty wood-burner, comfortable double bed and is self-contained with your own cooking facilities, ensuite bijou bathroom- complete with a shower.
This hut was made using reclaimed materials by myself and my good friend Mike. Since making this hut we have started a business together making shepherd huts called Pumphrey and Weston. In the hut there is a kitchen with single hob, wood burning stove, shower, toilet and basin. The double bee is a comfy memory foam mattress.
St Mabyn is a picturesque Cornish village, with a great pub, shop and church. It is located near to Polzeath, Tintagel, Rock, Port Issac and Padstow. The Eden Project is about a 30 minute drive.

Nosotros definitivamente vamos a volver.

:) ¡Gracias Byron! :) X

Blisand is in the heartland of North Cornwall, Bodmin Moor, where you will find hundreds of miles of trails and where herds of wild ponies roam free. Bodmin Moor is littered with Neolithic sites and mysterious stone circles. Because of our central Cornwall location we are near both the North and South coasts so if you love surfing head North to Polzeath or Newquay or if you prefer a gentler seaside experience head south to explore the coves and villages around Fowey and Mevagissey. If you are a fan of Doc Martin and Poldark lots of filming sites are within easy reach of us such as Port Isaac the location of fictional Port Wenn and Poldark's house is up on the moor only 3 miles from us. If your kind of holiday involves roaring fires and good food there are many wonderful pubs and restaurants near us and I am happy to make recommendations.

Honeysuckle Cottage is situated about a mile from St Tudy a quaint Cornish village, the church around which the village was built was first constructed in the 6th century and then rebuilt in the 11th, 15th and latterly 19th centuries, the village has been built around the original Celtic circular raised graveyard - known locally as "God's Acre!" St Tudy is believed to be the birthplace of Captain Bligh of the "Mutiny on the Bounty" fame! The St Tudy Inn (formerly the Cornish Arms) will welcome you in for a refreshing drink, a hearty meal or both!Wadebridge was originally a market town. My lovely home is situated on a the new Borough View estate, just a stones throw from The Camel Trail and Bodmin Town Centre. Bodmin is also right in the middle of the county, so offers easy access to all of Cornwall's towns, beaches and activities. My house was built in Summer 2016 so has everything you would expect from a new build.
The house (Coach House, it's like a bungalow but upstairs) has in own private front door with stairs inside the house. It was built in 2016 and has a beautiful open plan living area with high ceilings. The Room its self, has a very comfortable single bed, large chest of draws, a small wardrobe and bedside table. The separate bathroom has a bath, shower and WC for your own private use.
Walking distance to Bodmin and the Camel trail. The closest shop, Home bargains is just 5 minutes walk away and stocks essentials like bread, milk and wine. There is also a pub just 5 minutes walk away.

Lamellen Lodge is situated about a mile from St Tudy a quaint Cornish village, the church around which the village was built was first constructed in the 6th century and then rebuilt in the 11th, 15th and latterly 19th centuries, the village has been built around the original Celtic circular raised graveyard - known locally as "God's Acre!" St Tudy is believed to be the birthplace of Captain Bligh of the "Mutiny on the Bounty" fame! The St Tudy Inn (formerly the Cornish Arms) will welcome you in for a refreshing drink, a hearty meal or both!Wadebridge was originally a market town. It has an amazing 15th century bridge with 17 arches over the River Camel, which is definitely worth a visit. It is said the bridge was built on wool as this was how the wealthy landowners in the area made their money. From the day the bridge was built the town became known as Wadebridge. The Royal Cornwall Show ground at Wadebridge hosts the county show every June, come rain or shine, opened each year by a member of the Royal Family. Cornish Farmers have had to diversify in recent years and so has the show, but they have kept their traditional roots with steam engines being shown next to the shiny new high-tech tractors. It's not every day you get to see formation JCB digger dancing in the main ring. Both Wadebridge and nearby Camelford are centrally located in order to explore the nearby hills and moors. Wadebridge is the perfect base, being the half way point, from which to discover the Camel Trail, a walk and cycle track following the old railway route from Bodmin to Padstow. There is wonderful scenery and plenty of wildlife, including fantastic sightings of wading birds to see on this serene trail and bikes can be hired from Bodmin, Wadebridge or Padstow. From Padstow you could take a boat trip across the Camel Estuary to Rock, and lounge on the beautiful beach that stretches all the way around to Daymer Bay. The National Lobster Hatchery neighbours Rick Steins empire in Padstow. The National Trust have three properties nearby, Lanhydrock House, Trerice and Carnewas and the dramatic cliffs and beach at Bedruthan Steps. Or if you fancy something different try a tour around the Camel Valley Vineyard, Cornish Wine has been growing in stature around the world and their sparkling wines are truly stunning, having picked up lots of international awards, go for a tasting you will not be disappointed!Bodmin Moor is a couple of miles away to the East and is dominated by large granite tors which tower over sweeping expanses of moorland. Bodmin Moor has engendered fear and awe throughout history and hence provided inspiration for writers, poets and sculptors. Standing stones, burial chambers, clapper bridges cottages and farms across the moor give a hint of the 4000 years of human development ever since Bronze Age farmers first arrived.Port Isaac is about 4 miles to the North West and this has recently been the base of filming for "Doc Martin" with Martin Clunes, there are a good selection of cafes shops and pubs. Further up the coast there are all of the golden beaches and coves between Polzeath and Tintagel with some of the best surf in Europe.Bodmin lies a few miles to South West and has a large selection of supermarkets, shops and restaurants.

Bodmin was the former county town of Cornwall for many years and the only Cornish town to be recorded in the Domesday Book, which was lodged in the town's prison during the First World War. The county prison is now a museum and open to the public. It was the first prison in the country to have separate cells. The oldest part of the town is made up of mainly granite buildings clustered around the Bodmin Beacon. The Beacon is a 144 feet tall obelisk in memory of Sir Walter Raleigh Gilbert. The area around the Beacon which has woodland and traditional hay meadow was declared a Local Nature Reserve in 1994.Nearby Bodmin Moor, bisected by the newly expanded A30 is home to one of Cornwalls Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Reaching a height of 1,377 feet above sea level at Brown Willy, Cornwalls highest point. The heather covered granite moorland provides East Cornwall with the most stunning country views and rugged walks. Near Blisland you will find two of Cornwalls stone circles, the Trippet Stones and Stripple Stone Henge and just round the corner, one end of the famous Camel Trail. The 18 mile Camel Trail follows the route of the old railway along traffic free paths, providing a fairly flat cycle through Bodmin and Wadebridge out to Padstow, eminently suitable for families.

You can hire surf boards and equipment from Polzeath, up as far as Bude and Widemouth Bay. Boscastle is the only natural harbour for 20 miles and at low tides and certain weather conditions you can find a blowhole at the mouth of the harbour. Tintagel brings with it legends of King Arthur and the remains of Tintagel Castle can be visited on foot. Nearby Camelford is rumoured to be the Camelot of legends past, and the finding of 'Arthurs Stone' in 1998 has only fuelled these myths. On Bodmin Moor, Dozmary pond is thought to contain Arthur's Excalibur, and Merlin is thought to be still found walking under Tintagel Island. Port Isaac is the location of the televisions series Poldark and more recently Doc Martin, as well as being a gorgeous working fishing village.Bodmin Jail built in 1778, notorious for its public executions by hanging, was the first jail to be built housing inmates in individual cells. The Jail closed in 1927 and is now a museum open to the public, which during the First World War housed the Crown Jewels and the Doomsday Book. The famous Camel Trail follows the route of the old railway along traffic free paths for 18 miles, providing the whole family with a fairly flat cycle through Bodmin and Wadebridge, and out to Padstow where you can sample Rick Steins famous Fish and Chips. The market town of Launceston is the capital of Cornwall and well worth a visit to see the church of St Mary Magdelene, with granite carvings, unusual among Cornish churches.

The area around the Beacon which has woodland and traditional hay meadow was declared a Local Nature Reserve in 1994.Nearby Bodmin Moor, bisected by the newly expanded A30 is home to one of Cornwall's Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Reaching a height of 1,377 feet above sea level at Brown Willy, Cornwall's highest point. The heather covered granite moorland provides East Cornwall with the most stunning country views and rugged walks. Near Blisland you will find two of Cornwall's stone circles, the Trippet Stones and Stripple Stone Henge and just round the corner, one end of the famous Camel Trail. The 18 mile Camel Trail follows the route of the old railway along traffic free paths, providing a fairly flat cycle through Bodmin and Wadebridge out to Padstow, eminently suitable for families.

Park Lodge 9 is situated 1/2 a mile from St Tudy a quaint Cornish village, the church around which the village was built was first constructed in the 6th century and then rebuilt in the 11th, 15th and latterly 19th centuries. The village has been built around the original Celtic circular raised graveyard - known locally as "God's Acre!" St Tudy is believed to be the birthplace of Captain Bligh of the "Mutiny on the Bounty" fame! The St Tudy Inn (formerly the Cornish Arms) will welcome you in for a refreshing drink, a hearty meal or both! Bodmin Moor is a couple of miles away to the East and is dominated by large granite tors which tower over sweeping expanses of moorland. Bodmin Moor has engendered fear and awe throughout history and hence provided inspiration for writers, poets and sculptors. Standing stones, burial chambers, clapper bridges cottages and farms across the moor give a hint of the 4000 years of human development ever since Bronze age farmers first arrived.Port Isaac is about 6 miles to the North West and this has recently been the base of filming for "Doc Martin" with Martin Clunes, there are a good selection of cafes shops and pubs. Further up the coast there are plenty of golden beaches and coves stretching between Polzeath and Tintagel with some of the best surf in Europe.Bodmin lies a few miles to South West and has a large selection of supermarkets, shops and restaurants.Rock is situated on the Camel Estuary opposite the town of Padstow. The estuary is alive in the summer with all manner of boats including windsurfers and water skiers. If you don't fancy venturing out on the water there are fine walks across to Braey Hill and further to St Endoc Church (the last resting place of Sir John Betjemen) where there are stunning views across to Doom Bar and Stepper Point. The mile long sandy beach stretches all the way to Daymer Bay at low tide and as there are no waves in Rock it is ideal for swimming. Rock is reputed to be home to more millionaires than anywhere else in Cornwall and it comes as no surprise that it also boasts a Michelin starred restaurant, the Black Pig. A foot ferry is able to take you across to the incredibly popular Padstow or 'Padstein' as it is nicknamed due to the amount of Rick Stein's food venues on offer. It is here that you can hire a bike and cycle along the Camel Trail if you fancy.Polzeath is a small seaside resort about 6 miles north of Wadebridge and is known to have one of the best surfing beaches in Cornwall. This long sandy beach combined with Atlantic swells provides ideal conditions with which to improve your surfing skills. The beach is prefect for families, there are lifeguards on duty and the village has a number of restaurants, pubs and cafes to cater for your needs. The coastal path passes through Polzeath to Daymer Bay and Rock in one direction and New Polzeath and Pentire Point in the other. There are miles of beautiful coastline where dolphins can sometimes be spotted and this is a wonderful area for birds such as puffins, kittiwakes and gannets.
