Please read FULLY before booking :) The cabin is totally secluded and set in a lovely private garden over looking the stunning bay of Portholland. The cabin is the perfect cosy place for a retreat/ meditation break/ or romantic get away. Drift off to sleep to the sound of the waves below. It offers the perfect blend of getting away from it all & life’s hectic schedule yet still being able to reach the outside world if you wish. The decking area is perfect for some al fresco dining whilst enjoying the spectacular views of the sea and village. It's also a fabulous platform for star gazing. Take out your hot chocolate and be amazed at the shooting stars on a clear night! Portholland also has a lovely tidal beach which is safe for swimming and canoeing. If you're feeling adventurous there is a 1 man canoe available on request which you can use to explore the secret hidden coves which can be found on either side of Portholland. Spacious double bed. Linen and bath towels included. Hot shower and flush toilet. Unfortunately our toilet system can’t handle toilet paper/ sanitary products - a bin is provided for these. If you want to hole up for a few days, make sure you bring enough provisions etc as the nearest shop/s are a 15 min drive away in Tregony and Veryan. WIFI. Signal is very good, possible to stream Netflix etc with no problems. Only 1 double bed, but space for a travel cot for young child or blow up mattress ( for a child) During Autumn the footpaths get very muddy so I recommend boots. Please note there is no oven, just a small gas stove (2) microwave, slow cooker, toaster, sandwich toaster. Not suitable for dogs Sea kayaks available to use on request during the summer months, May - September Please note - Think European when it comes to our toilet! Toilet paper & sanitary products must go in the bin provided. We have a very basic toilet system which blocks easily. A bin with special bags are supplied. The television is for the DVD player, no satellite dish. But WiFi works well for streaming on your devices. :) Cold water only from the kitchen tap Hot shower :) Please .... please don’t message me asking if you can bring your dog! For a small fee I can supply your favourite bottle of wine / flowers / chocolates on special occasions. Ask for more info after booking. :) After a guests unfortunate accident involving candles, I respectfully ask that you do not bring / use candles in the cabin.

Touchstone Cottage is a lovingly restored 200 year old fisherman's cottage just a stone's throw from Mevagissey's working harbour on the much sought after sunny East Cliff. As a 19th century cottage, tucked away up a secluded cobbled path, you are unable to reach the Cottage by car; this ensures that you will enjoy a peaceful stay. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are within walking distance, while The Eden Project is just a short 20 minute drive. The nearest beach is 10 minutes away on foot.
The upper floor of the Cottage is light and airy; a partition wall has been removed to create a 'mezzanine' bedroom, next to the bathroom. The bedroom has a lovely view across the cobbled back streets of the Village. Light floods down the stairs to the Living Room which features original floorboards which have been lovingly restored, and a log burning stove. There are exposed beams throughout and heaps of character. The cottage is painted white throughout, and features lovely Loaf furniture in the bedroom and living room. Downstairs, on the ground floor, the kitchen/diner features the prettiest slate tiles complete with underfloor heating. Should you choose to cook at home you will find that the kitchen is fully equipped with electric hob and oven, and a lovely pale blue 1950s style SMEG fridge with freezer box. The look is complemented by the mid-century Ercol table and chairs. Finally, a word of caution, the internal stairs are original and are therefore tight and steep, and the cobbled path leading to the cottage can be slippery when wet! I very much look forward to welcoming you. Please do not hesitate to get in touch should you have any questions.
Mevagissey is a beautiful base from which to explore the surrounding area and you will experience a real slice of traditional Cornish life during your stay. In the village itself you will find many lovely shops to browse around alongside 'olde worlde' pubs, cafes and restaurants, where you can eat and drink locally sourced produce. The fishermen haul in their catch at the end of the day and both deep-sea angling trips and short mackerel fishing trips in the bay are available from the quay. The seagulls follow the boats in and are very noisy; just thought I would mention this as the cottage is very close to the harbour! During the summer months there are ferries that will take you from the harbour to Fowey or around the coastline. Mevagissey also has its own small sealife aquarium and museum. Mevagissey is surrounded by beautiful beaches which you can access from The Coast Path; the cottage is just seconds from the Coast Path. You can walk up 'The Cliff' to the top and follow the footpath to beautiful Polstreath beach (steps down) or you can walk over the top of Polkirt Hill and down to Portmellon beach, a sandy cove with plenty of rock pools. From here you can follow the Coast Path to Colona Beach at Chapel Point beach, and, if you are a keen walker, you can keep on walking to Gorran Haven Beach, and you might catch sight of seals, dolphins or even basking sharks on the way. Mevagissey does have its own small beach in the harbour if you do not want to walk. There are many other unspoilt beaches within 10 minutes' drive including Gorran Haven, Vault Beach, Hemmick and Porthluney 'Caerhays', to name but a few. Lovely unspoilt villages such as Port Holland and Portloe, the majestic Nare Head and Pendower Beach, and the Roseland Peninsula and its beautiful beaches, including Towan beach, are all within a 30 minute drive. You can also take the scenic King Harry Ferry across the Fal River and continue on to Falmouth. The North Coast is a short 40 minute drive away and there are surfing beaches at Newquay, Perranporth etc. Mevagissey also hosts its own Feast Week during the last week of June when the harbour is decorated with bright lights and flags, there is a full week of activities and on the final evening there is a spectacular firework display around the harbour. Local Beach Summary Mevagissey beach in the harbour (5 minutes walk) Polstreath beach (steps down) - walk up 'The Cliff' on the east side of the harbour to the top and follow the Coast Path (10 minutes walk) Pentewan beach - follow the Coast Path east of Polstreath beach Portmellon beach - walk over the top of Polkirt Hill (20 minutes walk) Colona Beach, Chapel Point - follow the Coast Path west of Portmellon (30 minutes walk)

The Housekeeper's Hideaway is a unique studio space 2 minutes walk from Mevagissey's picturesque working fishing harbour. The space is perfect for couples, or solo travellers, who are looking for somewhere a little unusual, definitely with a boutique feel, as well as wanting a cosy home-from-home to return to at the end of the day. The cave like structure of the original dwelling, including the cliff wall, was exposed during an extensive refurbishment in 2016 and dates back to the mid 1600s.
Access to your own front door is down one flight of external stairs from my patio. The space is unique because when you descend the stairs and look through the window you then discover that you are actually two floors up as the house is built into the cliff. Light floods into the space through the beautiful double sash window - which fills an entire wall of the studio - and you can gaze out across the village. The immediate view is of rooftops and the neighbour's patio. Another wall of the studio - a lime pointed stone wall - is at ground level against a secret passage way which runs behind a terrace of nearby cottages. There is now a window where there was once a doorway through which the Housekeeper - for the adjoining property The Old Dairy - would pass to reach her husband's cottage. There is a huge fire place with a Wood Burner for cosy evenings in a painted stone wall. The fourth and final wall - the backdrop for your bathroom / shower and small kitchen - is actually the rock face or cliff. There are two marks in the cliff that suggest the cottage was once home to a traditional pilchard press which, given that the Housekeeper's husband was a fisherman, is likely. The space has been sympathetically restored keeping all of the original features. The overall look is paired back and simple with a touch of modern industrial; the space also features Danish-style pale solid ash flooring. The wet room has gorgeous fittings and natural stone tiles from Fired Earth that complement the rock and I have added a super cute mini kitchen from IKEA so that you can cook breakfast and simple meals. Please feel free to get in touch if you would like any further information. PLEASE NOTE: in order to highlight the cliff wall - the wet room (loo and basin) within the studio space is enclosed behind a large glass screen / door which does not extend to the ceiling. However whilst a stunning and unique design feature this does not allow for a great deal of privacy; please take this into consideration before booking.

Gracias de nuevo Will!

Cove Cottage has the enviable location of being a stone's throw from the harbour in Portloe, and benefits from sea views, a terraced patio to the rear that looks down over the harbour and excellent, spacious, accommodation in this traditional fisherman's cottage.
Cove Cottage is brilliantly located a stone's throw from the harbour and beach right in the heart of the quintessential Cornish fishing village of Portloe. The entrance level is open plan with a spacious lounge at one end and kitchen dining room at the other, an open fire to keep you warm in the winter and a sun trap of a terrace which is surprisingly private being this close to the harbour. Portloe is one of those perfect little Cornish fishing villages, beautifully positioned around a stunning little cove and harbour. Like many such villages, smuggling played a large part in Portloe's history with many tales of cat and mouse games played between locals and the authorities! In 1824, the problem became so bad that Customs ordered the construction of a Watch House, boathouse and slipway in a vain attempt to deter the illicit trade. Accommodation Ground Floor: Back door is situated at this level and is approached through a narrow alleyway to the rear of the property it opens into a hallway with doors to a large twin bedroom, a wet room with shower WC and hand basin and stairs leading to: First Floor: Large Open plan living / dining and small kitchen area, with fully fitted units and all facilities. The living room area has an open fire and flat screen TV, double aspect, with windows over-looking harbour and patio. The front door leads onto the patio / garden area. Stairs lead up to; Second Floor: Master bedroom with 5' double bed, chest of drawers and window with views of the harbour. Family bathroom with bath with handheld shower, WC and hand basin. Second twin bedroom with storage and locked linen cupboard. Exterior: Patio area with chairs and tables and secondary raised decked area with views to the harbour. Facilities & Services Heating is via electric night storage heaters. The kitchen has a range of equipment. There is an electric oven and hob, a microwave, toaster, kettle and fridge / freezer. The sitting room area has a flatscreen digital Smart TV & DVD player where programmes can be viewed through BBC iPlayer, ITVplayer, 4OD etc. Netflix is also available. PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO LIVE TV. Catch up/on demand is through the WiFi only. There is a CD player. There is an iron & ironing board. WiFi is available at the property. Regrettably no smoking is allowed. Visitors are usually able to park opposite the Lugger Hotel above the slipway although there is not a designated space for the property however parking is available at the top of the village in the main car park. Short breaks are available during quieter periods. £200 pre - authourised to your credit or debit card as a security deposit is required.
The Roseland Peninsula is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and forms one of the finest sections of Cornwall's South Coast. From Mevagissey to St Mawes and bordered by the Fal Estuary to the west, the Roseland Peninsula has been drawing visitors for years with its splendid coastline, unique gardens, historic villages and superb sailing waters. A truly magnificent part of Cornwall, the Roseland Peninsula is a wonderful place to spend a memorable holiday. With The Lost Gardens of Heligan and The Eden Project in one direction and Falmouth and the National Maritime Museum in the other the Roseland is brimming with places to visit and things to do.Portloe is considered by many to be the jewel in the crown of the Roseland peninsula and one of the prettiest villages in Cornwall. The steep sided valley has meant that it has managed to escape development over the years and many buildings differ little from when they were built. Sir John Betjeman said of Portloe "One of the least spoiled and most impressive of Cornish fishing villages". Broom Parc, the country house setting (now a B&B) for the Camomile Lawn a 1992 TV drama is a short walk up the coast path.It is wonderfully quiet and peaceful, yet it has a really good local pub & hotel. The village itself is only a short drive from the other villages such as St Mawes. The city of Truro is also within a 25 minute drive. The Lugger Hotel with its excellent restaurant is only a few steps away and the Ship Inn is a short walk. The New Inn at Veryan serves food. There is also the Portloe Tea Room nearby. There is no general store in Portloe, however there are shops at Veryan (1.4 miles) and a Londis store at Bessy Beneath (3 miles). Further pubs, shops & restaurants are also available in Tregony, Ruan Lanihorne, Portscatho & St Mawes.Portscatho and its neighbouring village of Gerrans are located on the eastern coast of the Roseland Peninsula, Cornwall, overlooking the dramatic Gerrans Bay. A truly peaceful waterside village, Portscatho is a lovely place for a holiday. There are miles of coastal and countryside footpaths to explore, particularly along past Towan beach and out to St Anthony's Head. Portscatho was once a busy fishing harbour, but now it has become a haven for artists due to the striking light which is particularly good in the morning sun. More than anything, Portscatho is a relaxing place. The beaches such as Porthcurnick, Towan and Porthbeor are simply idyllic and these are only minutes from the village. With a superb local butchers shop, 2 great little pubs and a well-stocked local store, Portscatho and Gerrans are a lovely place to spend a holiday.St Mawes Castle, built by Henry VIII in the 16th century sits on Castle Point at the mouth of the River Fal. At the top of St Mawes, Lamorran Gardens house a wonderful collection of tropical plants with lovely views down into the Harbour. St Just-in-Roseland has arguably the most photographed church in Cornwall. The 13th century church sits quietly tucked away on the edge of the creek. The Veryan Roundhouses are a must see, on the way to Nare Head, where you will find the most spectacular views of Gerrans Bay. The little village of Portloe nestles in lovely valley and is one of Cornwall's quintessential spots. Portscatho has a number of art galleries and many artists find the light in this harbour village inspires much of their work. The Roseland Inn at Philleigh is a 16th century pub just waiting for you to visit, as is the newly refurbished Smugglers Cottage at Tolverne, perfect for that afternoon Cornish Cream Tea, now run by Tregothnan Estate home to the UK's first tea plantation. The most popular thing to do though on the Roseland is simply to walk and enjoy some of Cornwall's most beautiful coastline.Events on the Roseland reach fever point in August when sailing regattas, carnivals, fayres and fun days take place all over the Roseland and the waters of the Carrick Roads. It is a memorable place for many people who return year after year to enjoy the magic of this beautiful place.

Portloe is considered by many to be the jewel in the crown of the Roseland peninsula and one of the prettiest villages in Cornwall. Its steep sided valleys has meant that it has managed to escape development over the years and many buildings differ little from when they were built. Sir John Betjeman said of Portloe "One of the least spoiled and most impressive of Cornish fishing villages". Portloe is an ideal place to stay on the Roseland Peninsula. It is wonderfully quiet and peaceful, yet it has a really good local pub & hotel.

A beach-style Shepherd's hut situated right on the cliffs edge with breathtaking panoramic views of the ocean. Wake up to the sound of the sea and enjoy breakfast out on the deck! The hut features a well-equipped kitchen and small dining area ideal for meals for two, plus a bathroom with shower and toilet. Despite the remote nature, there is also high speed WIFI and a TV for cosy nights in, as well as a selection of books for keen readers. The hut is a short walk from local amenities, including pubs, shops, cafes and a fish and chip takeaway!
There are few places where one can wake up to see, smell and hear the ocean all around you, but Perhaver Shepherd's Hut is one of them! Staying here is a truly relaxing experience, perfect for couples, lone travellers or a parent and child. However, please do note the maximum number of guests we allow are two and the hut is not suitable for infants. There is a well planned kitchen and dining area with hob, small oven, microwave, and fridge. Breakfast bar with tall stools and small fold down table with 2 chairs is your dining table for two or a desk for those lucky enough to work remotely. The double doors can be opened to include the curved wooden deck as part of the living space. There is a BBQ, outdoor dining furniture and sun-loungers for two. Although the hut is great for summer days, with under-floor heating and excellent insulation, WIFI, and lots of books, it still makes the perfect winter getaway. The lovely curved wooden deck with a rope balustrade overlooks a large lawned garden with a wide panoramic view of the bay. The cliff-scape and rocky headland to the east is dramatic and uplifting. There is garden around the hut. The 20 metre lawn slopes gently towards a surrounding hedge with the cliff edge beyond and sea below. Parking is by the main house about 20 metres away. Access is down a short flight of steps from the parking area, along a sloping, slate pathway across the lawn, then steps lead up to the hut.
The Sheperd's Hut is perfectly situated to explore the best of what South Cornwall has to offer. Just 10 minutes walk away is the quaint harbour of Gorran Haven with a sandy beach and wall for fishing off. Here you can also enjoy local pubs, a few cafes, restaurants and a small shop for essentials. Other great pubs include the Barley Sheaf just up the road in Gorran Churchtown and the Llawnroc Hotel. For the hikers, there are stunning coastal paths traversing most of the South Cornwall coast line. These are easy to pick up from several locations surrounding the hut, my favourite of which is the walk to the historic Dodmans Point. On the way you will pass Vault Beach - one of Cornwall's best kept secrets! This mile long stretch of white sand is the perfect escape from the summer crowds. Other great local beaches include Caerhays beach and castle and the quieter Hemmick. Both can be reached via coastal paths if you are feeling adventurous! For those with transport, the larger fishing village of Mevagissey is well worth a visit. Here you can find ample gift shops with local crafts and produce, pubs serving real ale and lots of great cafes, takeaways and restaurants. Other notable local activities include the stunning Lost Gardens of Heligan and The Eden Project.

Britannia Studio is a one bedroom annex attached to our Grade 2 listed Britannia Cottage and believed to be one of the oldest properties in Mevagissey. We are ideally situated just a few hundred yards from the beautiful working fishing harbour of Mevagissey, with its numerous pubs, restaurants and shops. National Cycle Route 3 passes within 100 yards and there is easy access to the South West Coastal Path.
Britannia Studio has been brought back to life after 3 years of painstaking renovation, where the natural Cornish stone walls have been exposed and many other features revealed. The cottage and studio are built on bed rock this is visible within the studio area. Locally it is believed Britannia Cottage and Studio was once a farm house with a thatched roof and surrounded by fields. It is believed to date back to the 15th century. The stone walls are three foot thick and held together with cob (a mixture of clay, straw and sometimes horse hair). The studio walls have also been pointed with a lime mortar, although the original cob can still be seen in the main cottage. The studio has its own entrance which leads into the kitchen area with breakfast bar, oven, hob, microwave and small fridge. There's a stone fire place with yew beam, which according to the local conservation officer was once an old communal bake oven. This has a portable gas fire. From the kitchen there's a small toilet and hand basin with limited space. The sitting area with a two seater leather sofa, TV, Wifi, views of the exposed bed rock and stone walls that rise from floor to ceiling of the Mezzanine above. During the renovation we uncovered an old mooring ring or possibly a ring to tether an animal to, this can be seen on the bed rock. Throughout the ground floor of the studio, the floor is laid with slate and having the benefit of underfloor heating. From the kitchen area, the bedroom is accessed from a small set of stairs. The stairs have a relatively sharp curve at the top. Some people might find these difficult to negotiate, especially if you are unsteady on your feet. There are however, bannisters for your assistance. The bedroom area has a wooden double bed, clothes hanging rail, bedside tables, chest of draws, radiator, TV, a sitting area with two chairs, small table and two velux windows with views across the village towards the sea in the distance. This is a very bright airy room, with solid oak flooring, oak balustrade overlooking the sitting area below and exposed stone walls. There is an en suite with shower area, sink, toilet and heated towel rail. Britannia Studio has a small raised decking area next to the entrance, with table and two chairs. Ideal for you to sit out with a glass of wine after a hard days sightseeing. We accept one large dog or two small dogs. We charge a £10 cleaning fee per stay for dogs, this is requested separately. Although there is no parking at Britannia Studio, we have a parking permit for our guests to use free of charge. This is for Willow Car Park a short walk away.

¡Gracias!

Ocean View occupies a wonderful, elevated, south facing position in the picturesque fishing village of Portloe, with magical views over the harbour and out to sea. There is nothing more relaxing than enjoying a glass of wine on the terrace with the sound of waves breaking to remove you from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Ocean View is the perfect Cornish cottage in a beautiful fishing village. Sit in full sun on the terrace to the front of the property with a good read or the morning papers. You can relax in the light filled "conservatory" dining area of the kitchen and watch the world go by with a morning cup of coffee or glass of wine later in the day.Portloe is one of those quintessential little Cornish fishing villages, beautifully positioned around a stunning little cove and harbour. Like many such villages, smuggling played a large part in Portloe's history with many tales of cat and mouse games played between locals and the authorities! In 1824, the problem became so bad that Customs ordered the construction of a Watch House, boathouse and slipway in a vain attempt to deter the illicit trade.Accommodation Ground Floor: The front door leads into a conservatory / dining / kitchen area with sea views, fully fitted units, a door leads to a small utility area with combined washing machine and tumble dryer and a dishwasher. Further door leads into the lounge area with an open fire and flat screen TV. Family bathroom (bath with handheld shower) and separate shower, WC and hand basin.

2 bed static caravan, in its own private meadow, located on a working farm on the beautiful Roseland peninsula in Cornwall. Picturesque views of the south coast from every window. More than welcome to put up a tent in the caravan garden if extra people need to stay. Just a short walk across the field to the local fishing village and pub. Coast path is right on the door step. Short distance to lovely beaches, the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan.
The caravan is in it's own small meadow, overlooking a couple of fields to the sea. There has been a caravan on the site for more than 60 years and many people return year after year - it is a rather special place! The van itself, although not new, is in good condition and is kept very clean. It is equipped with everything you'll need for a comfortable break (including a barbecue for those infrequent sunny days for which Cornwall is so famous!!) but if there's anything else you need, just ask - we'll probably have it. We have toys and games available to borrow, as well as a travel cot, high chair and baby monitor - please ask when making a booking as we don't leave them permanently in the caravan. Gas and electricity are included, as is bedding. There is also an additional toilet and sink in an old building in the garden, a relic from the days when the vans had no inside plumbing! Families particularly appreciate the space - children can be contained within the garden and can make as much noise as they want - there are no neighbours to upset! Equally, many people simply relish the peace and quiet.
The Roseland peninsula is a beautiful, relatively unspoilt corner of Cornwall. Portloe itself is a picturesque former fishing village, with a pub but not much else apart from peace and tranquility, lovely views and walks - and friendly local residents!
