  • Host was very accommodating and the home was great. We were a little late on our roadtrip to Espanola but Leigh nevertheless stayed up and waited for us to make sure that we found the place, which was extremely appreciated. The studio is filled with many awesome artifacts from around the world, so the place was very fun to stay at. Would recommend to anyone traveling to Santa Fe or the surrounding area!

  • The studio is a cozy, artfully decorated space for up to 4 adults. It is off the beaten track but well situated for trips up to Taos or down to Santa Fe. The host gave great directions, a map and kept in touch with us by email.

  • Leigh and James are awesome! The place is super clean, well decorated and cosy! Will definitely be coming back!

  • We loved leigh's place. It matched our tastes perfectly. Loved looking at all the interesting books and art work, and really appreciated the chance to make good coffee with coffee and espresso pot provided!

  • I was very pleased with my stay at Leigh's. The guesthouse was secluded and charming. Plenty of room, a large collection of books and art, and not too far from town if you need anything. It's a great option if you want something out of the ordinary!

    Rachel2012-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay in Leigh's guesthouse. It was the perfect place to spend a night between trips to Santa Fe and Taos. We thought it was cozy, and enjoyed being able to make breakfast and enjoy a relaxing, beautiful morning before continuing our road trip.

    emily2013-11-11T00:00:00Z

Nestled in beautiful Chimayo New Mexico! Sacred Earth is both a home yoga and art studio. A place of relaxation and sanctuary on a country style setting. Sweet, comfortable, and relaxing a one bedroom, bath and kitchen.
Guests have access to the yoga/relaxation space, no shoes please. This space was created purely for relaxation with its newly installed soft plush carpet flooring. The kitchen area, French Press/ tea/ and fridge. None cooking center at this time ( stove) use. One full size bed in bedroom area. Full bathroom in the master bedroom.
Located 1 mile from the famous restaurant The Rancho De Chimayo, and close by to galleries, shops, and the famous shrine of El Santuario. Not far from either Toas or Santa Fe both a 45 minute drive.
  • Sharon was so great! The space was not what was expected.

  • The host canceled this reservation 3 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

  • Sharon was an amazing host and I loved the place! It has two bathrooms, bedroom, kitchen, dining table, and space for yoga. Sharon was very accessible and communicated with me frequently before and during the stay. She even gave me a ride into town when my transportation fell through. 5 stars!

    Gregory2016-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay with Sharon! She was extremely accommodating to our unique situation! We arrived in the middle of the night and she was there to greet and welcome us and offer various amenities. The following morning she offered her assistance, should it be needed and was really kind! The airbnb had such a unique character to it. The yoga elements and general feel of the residence was peaceful and inviting. We were running around the entire time we were in New Mexico. So, when we came back to the residence we found it easy to relax and prepare for whatever the next leg of our adventure was. The bed and bedding were comfortable for the chilly night and they was even fresh fruit and linens for us both! Definitely recommend!

  • We had a great time staying in the studio in Chimayo! It was very cozy and spacious and a great place to relax between hiking and heading into Santa Fe. Sharon made check in/check out very easy and the place had everything we needed--warm showers, comfortable bed, kitchen for making breakfast :)

  • Good points are a quiet location, friendly dogs on the property. Cooling is by evaporative cooler (which are wonderful in arid climates) but require slightly open windows to work well. No screens on the windows, so mosquitoes during the summer are present.

    Charlotte2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you. We were only at Sharon's to sleep and then we left early.

Enjoy the best Northern New Mexico has to offer. In the town of Chimayo, a 35 minute drive from Santa Fe. All of the comforts of a modern home with the charm and character that only a historic adobe can offer. Great for families, couples, creatives
Enjoy the best Santa Fe, Taos, and Northern New Mexico has to offer. This space has all of the amenities and comforts of a modern home with the charm and character that only a historic adobe can offer. Great for families and dogs! Private, views, hikes, peace. Our home is a carefully restored adobe, over a hundred years old. It is light and airy with skylights and open ceilings. In classic adobe style, the walls are several feet thick and have been finished with natural mud plaster. The house has two bedrooms, a bathroom, a living room, and kitchen. It is heated with radiant heat. It’s set on quarter of an acre that is completely fenced in for maximum privacy. The garden is well established with native plants, flowers, and herbs. Your views are of the badlands, which you can hike to right out the door. There are a few neighbors, relatives of the family who built the home over a hundred years ago.
  • Was perfect for what I was looking for: secluded house in the hills with plenty of space and a large fenced in yard for my dog. Wonderful kitchen to cook in. Insanely comfortable bed!!

  • Cute house. Excellent when you want to unplugged.

    Maria2017-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • The house was quite a find. It had heated floors, a great kitchen, great space, very comfy beds and much appreciated having coffee for the mornings. The location made for great star gazing.

    Michelle2018-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The peaceful, historic Adobe was a very pleasant surprise. Our family spent the Christmas holiday at this beautiful location. Sadie was very attentive to our needs. The location is excellent for day trips in the area. Thank you Sadie.

    Beth2017-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Sadie’s place so much that we booked an extra night as soon as we arrived! It’s high up in Chimayo and about a 35-40 minute drive to Santa Fe. The nearby restaurants aren’t that great (I would skip Ranchero Chimayo entirely), so unless you fancy a longer drive, I’d recommend buying in a good lot of groceries and cooking at the house. We can’t wait to stay again!

Sleep upstairs , bright and sunny, single bed - views of the beautiful Chimayo valley/ Santa Fe mountains. Bird watcher's paradise. Walking available in high desert landscape behind house. Centrally located for driving to Santa fe, Taos, Los Alamos, Espanola.
Enjoy the "big room" - living room/kitchen, the peaceful outdoors, or the private spaces upstairs. wood stove in the winter, adobe coolness in the summer.
Plenty of large cottonwood trees that entice small and large birds, nesting nearby and migrating.
  • Robin is FANTASTIC!! She welcomes you into her home like you are family (perhaps better). The location is emblematic of the land of enchantment. There is such a sense of calm and spirituality. When you pull up it is emotionally cleansing.

    John2017-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Wish I could give this place 6 stars. Robin is a terrific host. Others have said it too, but she really does make you feel like family.

    Nathan2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Robin is a wonderful hostess. She is willing to share conversation over a cup of coffee or tea or to let you have your privacy in the spacious upstairs. Her home is lovely and full of wonderful folk art, some made by her. The setting is idyllic.

    Mary2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great time at Robin's place. It was secluded in an area of the country which was perfect for getting away from busy city life. I was attending meetings in Los Alamos and this place was convenient since it was only ~40 minutes away. Robin was extremely hospitable, communication throughout the entire stay was smooth, and her morning breakfasts were delicious. I would definitely recommend this place for people staying in northern NM.

    Lok-kun2016-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Robin is a spectacular host and an amazing woman to talk with... I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and truly felt at home. Next stay I'm going for that walk to the see the canyon!

    Wendy2016-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • For my vacation, I was craving a remote relaxing getaway and proximity to the Northern New Mexico landscape. Robin provided a wonderful experience and she even taught me how to get off the beaten path and take some different roads between Abiqui, Taos, and Santa Fe. There are hot springs, sanctuaries, art galleries, breathtaking rock formations, history, and culture all over the area. A 2 hour drive can get you to see so much! I drove all to way to the Rio Grande! The bed was comfy and the window view was fantastic. Sunny and picturesque. Robin showed me the path on the back of her little village, and I spent a morning hiking and taking photos in the desert. The trail goes on forever :) There is so much to see!! Breakfast and coffee were great and she told me about local cuisine and the best places to get food. I helped a little in her garden and I learned about the irrigation systems. Robin has a rich experience to share, as she has traveled the world and knows a lot about world culture and the history of Chimayo. Her art and creativity are apparent in ever nook and cranny of her wood filled Adobe. Check out her weaving! If I go back to the area, I will definitely be looking to stay with her, and I'd love to take a friend and share the experience. Thank you Robin for one of my best trips!

    Melissa2016-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • The neighborhood is very secluded and if you want to feel like you're getting away from it all (but still a short drive from Santa Fe), this could be the place for you! Robin is very knowledgeable about the area and is happy to guide you in exploring the area!

    Karen2016-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Robin is a fantastic host. She makes you feel welcome and her adobe built home is a place to relax and feel the magic of New Mexico. The room was very comfortable and the view is amazing. Robin joined me for a walk into the hills to the back of her home. From there the view of the mountains with snow still showing the ski trails was beautiful. Robin shared points of interest, great shopping and outstanding restaurants close to Chimayo. A trip to Santa Fe for the day is a beautiful drive (be sure to ask Robin about the special road to take past El Santuario de Chimayo) and provides outstanding shopping and a chance to see some of Robin’s tapestries in one of the Galleries. Robin is an international traveler and award winning tapestry artist. Her looms are located in her home and she is always excited to share her knowledge of weaving. Robin’s is where I will always stay when visiting northern New Mexico. Truly amazing!!

Beautiful country setting in historic compound, 35 minutes from Santa Fe. The guest suite has a private bathroom with a shower and private deck overlooking the fields and the "badlands". In-room coffee and tea service. AC to keep you cool in the warm summer months and radiant heat in the winter. Cotton sheets, down comforters. Queen bed & twin sofa sleeper. Organic BREAKFAST served in the main house for $17.00 PER PERSON ADDTIONAL FEE. We enjoy hosting your stay and respect our guests' privacy.
Located on the historic Plaza del Cerro dating back to the mid-1700's. Terrific book to read about the old plaza is "Sabino's Map" by Don Usner. The setting is unique and very peaceful. Great location if you want to visit Taos, Bandelier National Monument and Native American Pueblos and a short pretty drive to Santa Fe.
Historic neighborhood. The Santuario de Chimayo is a mile away, best known for its "healing earth" and commands the largest pilgrimage in Northern America during Holy Week.
  • This was our second time staying at Jody's place and we really didn't think it could be possible to enjoy her place more than we did last time...but it happened! Just a short drive from Santa Fe, Casa Manzana and the Casitas are a perfect haven to come home to after spending the day exploring the many sights around town. Last time we visited, we stayed in the farmhouse which was incredible. This time we brought our grown children along who stayed in the farmhouse while the two of us stayed in one of the casitas. The entire stay was magical. Jody's property is bucolic, inviting, rustic, and romantic with wide open spaces, expansive views, a pond, orchard, barn, fire pit, chicken coup, and outdoor kitchen area complete with a large gas grill, food prep area, and long wooden tables, all shaded by a vine-covered gazebo. The indoor living spaces are bright, open and cheery. The casita that we stayed in was warm and cozy and private with a small coffee/tea station and adjoining bathroom. I would highly recommend staying with Jody the next time you're visiting the Santa Fe area. We are already looking forward to our next stay.

  • We had a fabulous time in Marisela's addition to her beautiful home! Quiet and serene yet centrally located, we were able to do days trips to Jemez, Taos, Abiquiu and Santa Fe. A local restaurant provides a culinary destination for fine New Mexican cuisine. And Marisela is a wonderful hostess. Can't wait to return to Chimayo and her country place!

    Richard2017-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Marisela's place was great. The location was convenient but secluded and gave the feeling of being out in the country. The space was well appointed and comfortable. From the lovely cookies left for us to the warm farewell, she was a wonderful host. A great time was had!

    Margaret2017-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Very nicely done spacious self-sufficient casita attached to main house but entirely independent, a mile or so off the hwy in an interesting already remote village Chimoya maybe 1/2 hour from main highway between Santa Fe and Taos. Host (and family) was super helpful upfront and available if needed, but left me alone otherwise, which I appreciated.

    Stephen2017-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place to stay. If you are looking for a quiet and secluded getaway, this is it. Lots to do within 45 minutes if you want busy, but so relaxing if you don't. Chimayo is a cute town and Marisela gives great tips on places to check out there, and nearby Santa Fe, and Taos. She is a gracious host and truly wants you stay to be what you want. We will be staying here again!

  • The room was comfortable, and Judith and her husband were very nice hosts.

  • The Bunkhouse at Star Ranch has a great combination of off the beaten path rusticity and sophisticated charm. Our room was comfortable and well-appointed. Out the windows on one side of the room, we had a terrific view of the cactus, scrub, and mesas. Out the other side, was the inviting courtyard with the hot tub and pond with koi. Judith is a warm and ingratiating hostess. We felt right at home.

    Julie2017-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Spent the night at Judith’s place: the location is remote but incredibly beautiful and we felt so cozy in the private room (the bed is amazing!). Judith was also a friendly and welcoming host. Wish we had more time there.

  • Judith's place is a tranquil retreat with both the comfort and seclusion that is often hard to find. I felt like an honored guest and yet as comfortable as a real family member. Tucked away in the rolling hills of Northern New Mexico, this place is a true hidden gem. The bed was great, the room was inviting and the adjoining court yard was peaceful retreat.

  • A safe and happy haven in GORGEOUS Chimayo. Easy check in and easy private access to room and private bath. Accommodating and lovely hosts - very helpful and great with communication. The hot tub soak under the stars and the good night's sleep I had on the extremely comfortable mattress combined for an experience I won't forget! And very easy access to Chimayo's beautiful historic landmarks (like a mile away)!

Lovely home on the 2nd story of the historic Rancho Manzana, located on the Plaza del Cerro, in Chimayo. Breathtaking views, spacious living space, one bedroom with additional sleeping loft, den and open kitchen plan. Private and cozy.
Walking distance to the Santuario de Chimayo and world famous Rancho de Chimayo Restaurant. This unique space has unusually high ceilings with grand open spaces full of light. The bedroom has features not usually found in an old adobe. The light filters through shutters with a clawfoot bathtub in the bedroom, romantically located under a window with the flowering catalpa tree right outside for your evening soak. The bathroom has an extra large shower and a washer and dryer. Radiant heat in the winter and AC in the summer. The den has a comfy double size futon with flat screen TV for watching NetFlix, Amazon, or sleeping. The sleeping loft overlooks the living space and is generously furnished with a double bed. Come and enjoy the historic feeling of staying in an old adobe with all the comforts of home. Sleeps 3 couples comfortably or a family of 4-5 mix of kids and adults. We have plenty of parking and can safely store your bicycles or other valued possessions while you are out exploring the vast country side.
This beautifully appointed home is located on the historic Plaza del Cerro in Chimayo, New Mexico. The building dates from the mid-1700's, a time when Northern New Mexico was still largely unsettled. It was the Ortega family residence and housed the original post office and mercantile store, serving the Chimayo community until the 1950's. Great care has been taken in the on-going restoration process, insuring a relaxing, hospitable retreat. A 30-minute drive from Santa Fe takes you to a tranquil, timeless rural paradise. Leaving the main highway, you'll pass through the rural community of Nambe, the Nambe Pueblo and the red sandstone "badlands." The light is magical, and the setting is in many ways unchanged from centuries past, as you head toward the cluster of trees and adobe houses that is Chimayo. (Suggested reading: Sabino's Map - Life in Chimayo's Old Plaza by Don Usner, Museum of New Mexico Press). The rural location is within easy driving distance of a number of tourist destinations: Bandelier National Monument, shopping in Santa Fe, the Santa Fe Opera, the High Road to Taos and Northern Villages, Abiquiu and Chama River environs, river rafting, as well as the famous Santuario de Chimayo and traditional weavers in the village. During the winter months skiing under the brilliant blue skies in New Mexico is exceptional. Take advantage of cross country trails nearby and ski the slopes of the Taos Ski Valley, Sipapu and Santa Fe Ski Basin, all within 1 - 1 1/2 hour drive from here.
  • A most beautiful tranquil spot to stay in... Felt like a home away from home! A beautiful veranda to sit under and the orchard was loaded with apples! We look forward to returning some day in the not to distant future!

  • This place was amazing! If you want to disconnect to reconnect this is it. Quiet, remote, it's the perfect place to get away from it all. The apartment is very well kept and everything you'd need is there. I can't recommend the place enough.

    Jason2016-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Jody and the apartment were both fantastic. The property is eclectic and fun. The apartment is in a 300 year old building, and is beautifully renovated and decorated. Jody was the perfect host, offering the right amount of privacy, while being available to answer questions and make suggestions. The property has gardens, apple orchards, a small pond/pool, a gorgeous outdoor kitchen, and access to views and the historic town plaza. There is a fantastic restaurant within walking distance. I would make a trip out here again simply to have more R&R time at Jody's retreat.

  • This is a great apartment - really comfortable - couldn't be better. Thanks Jody.

  • We'll be back. Jody met us upon arrival, showed us what we needed to know, and we settled in quickly after a long day of travel. The rental was everything and more than we expected: we loved cooking in the open kitchen, reading and resting in the living room, and walking the beautiful grounds. The location is a perfect launching pad for taking trips to nearby Chimayo, Santa Fe, the High Road to Taos, and (for us) taking 285 into Colorado for the second part of our vacation. Can't say enough good things. Like I said, we'll be back!

  • Our week stay at Jody’s “Best Spot in New Mexico” felt like a week in heaven! The space itself was was aesthetically lovely, spacious, and stocked with everything we needed. And it was such a treat to fall asleep each night in a comfy bed, with the windows wide open and a slight breeze while listening to the chirp of crickets and babble of running water. During the day the windows offer gorgeous views in every direction with pink/purple mountains in the distance. Outside, Rancho Manzana’s acreage is green and lush, and manages to be both open and secluded. It includes an expanse of grass, an ancient apple orchard, a pond with water lilies, flowers in abundance, and a delightful eating area canopied by vines. All this is further enhanced by Jody herself, who is friendly, helpful, and generous with her time in sharing some of the rich local history with us. (Check out the book “Sabino’s Map” in the apartment). Chimayo’s location also makes it a perfect launching ground for trips to Sante Fe, Taos, Bandolier National Monument, and lots more. Last but not least, Jody’s dogs have to be two of the sweetest dogs ever, whether bent on entertainment or just basking in sunshine. Thank you, Jody! Yes, we’ll be back!

  • Thank you Jody! You were so helpful with everything we needed. What a wonderful space. Roomy, well appointed, a great kitchen for cooking and spectacular views. Everything we needed for a great stay. We will be back!

    Victoria2016-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • We felt at home and hope to return again and again! This is wonderful retreat. A truly special ranch. Jody has made her ranch an oasis of beauty and relaxation. The bed was comfortable, the tub was heavenly. The kitchen worked well to make breakfast, coffee and eat left overs. Jody was sweet and respectful of our privacy, so were the neighbors (there are tenants that share the land). The grounds are well appointed for large family dinners, bon fires and reading a good book with a glass of wine. There was a very vocal rooster while we were there so we didn't get to sleep in but we did get fresh eggs for breakfast one morning :)

We live in the other side of the house. This is a working garden in the summer and we are out and about on the lot. You will be welcome to share in any produce of the season. We also maintain greenhouses for winter greens which we will gladly share. The house is passive and active solar with solar electric and solar hot water. Tom works for Positive Energy Solar in Santa Fe and Jan is a certified Permaculturist. We aim for as much sustainability as possible. Chimayo is the home of the Sanctuario most well known for it's Easter pilgramage still practiced by many locals. Pilgrams walk day and night to come to Chimayo for the Easter holiday. The Sanctuario is open for visitors and is still an active congregation. The traditions of Chimayo are still practiced today including the room of blessed healing dirt. You will also find the best vendors of Chimayo authentic chili there and sample it's green and red goodness. Historians credit Chimayo with having the most intact (still lived in) Spanish Colonial Plaza in New Mexico. Many if not most of the residents of Chimayo are descendants of the Spanish settlers from the 1600's. A museum open in the summers next to Ortega's Weaving Shop will explain. Many art galleries and weavers are in Chimayo and the region. There is a wonderful local restaurant with beautiful hillside tables called 'El Rancho de Chimayo' that has great classic northern New Mexico meals. Paradise Pond is perfect for couples looking to get away for a romantic weekend. Additionally artists, writers, photographers and others who want a peaceful and inspiring natural place to work. For the adventurous it's also centrally located for day trips: 35 minutes to Santa Fe, 60 minutes to the Santa Fe Ski Basin, 55 minutes to Taos, 45 minutes to Ojo Caliente Hot Springs, 45 minutes to Abiquiu (and Ghost Ranch) or Bandelier National Park. There are hidden treasures throughout the region and the hosts have a lot of knowledge of some off the beaten path spots to visit. We will help you plan your trips if you need local advice. Many events are also worthwhile such as the Native American Ceremonial Dances, Santa Fe's numerous Markets, the Christmas Eve Canyon Road Walk and many more. So stay and relax or go exploring or both. Either way you will enjoy your stay in beautiful Northern New Mexico.
We love Chimayo. It's an historical village where 90% of the people living here are descendants of the first Spanish settlers in the late 1600's. There is a lot of rural small scale agriculture with their main crops being their Chimayo chile and the native blue corn. The Sanctuario de Chimayo is a major attraction and on Easter week hosts the pilgrimage where thousands of people walk to the Sanctuario. There are also many weavers still working in the old traditions. Also it is in the center of the area which includes Taos, Santa Fe and Los Alamos - everything is less than an hour away.
  • Paradise Pond was everything we hoped it would be and more. I was very attracted to the place when viewing photos of the casita on the AirBnB site--especially the colors and New Mexican details of the decor. It was even more beautiful in person. We absolutely loved the scenic beauty and quiet of the property, and we enjoyed seeing the sunrise over the water, the craggy landscape on the horizon, and watching the birds on and around the feeders. The internet worked fine for us and we found everything else is good working order as well. We were very comfortable there and look forward to visiting again!

  • An unexpected treasure in dry New Mexico, to be on a pond with birds and wildlife. The adobe was typical of the area and comfortable, clean, and charming. Lovely landscape oil paintings on the wall by the hostess. Accessible to Los Alamos, Bandelier, Chimayo Sanctuary and the High Road to Toas, not to mention the Indian pueblos and wood carvers in the area. We recommend it to all.

    Elizabeth2018-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing find! Beautiful and secluded. The hosts were very knowledgeable about the area and offered lots of resources. We took their recommendation for hikes/restaurants and they were awesome! By reading the other reviews I assumed we’d be in a technological dead zone but that was not the case. We had no problem live streaming Thursday Night Football on our iPad. Maybe the WiFi is slower on the weekend but we have absolutely no complaints about the three nights we were there. I definitely recommend this to any nature lovers looking for an escape from city/suburban life. 10/10

  • Beautiful home and surroundings .Great hosts. Wonderful advice and tips on where to go and what to see. Lots of literature available about the area.. Loved it. Will go back again. Barbara and Brian

  • Great place, hosts and location. I can only say that I wouldn't consider this place a full home; the owners are sharing the house with you. Another small problem was that I hope they can figure out the WiFi because you only can connect in the living room. Download your movies during the day (it will take ages to download) so you can watch them at night. The rest was as expected and the hosts are wonderfully amicable and helpful.

  • The house is beautiful! We loved how warm and cozy it was. The kitchen is huge and was perfect for our family meals. The house is located outside of the city/town hustle and bustle which we loved. Lamar was kind and communicated with us very well. Would definitely come back again!

  • Julie, Scott and the entire Bennett family were extremely accomadating. Myself and my 2 dogs stayed with them for 6 weeks while studying in Espanola, NM. I was able to comfortably study and spend time on their beautiful property. I would highly recommend Julie and Scott for any type of travel, especially travel with pets. They have a large yard, spacious dog kennels (for day use, if wanted), and live near a large walking trail. In addition, the family enjoys getting to know their guests. They helped me get to know the community, suggested activities and provided a caring home to return to at the end of the day. Their home is beautiful, sustainable and comfortable. My dogs and I will be back to stay with them sometime in the future!

    Jenny2013-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • I can't say enough about how warm and inviting Julie and her family were. Easy-going hospitality like that is hard to come by, and a joy to find. Their house is cozy, clean, and close to Chimayo, Bandelier, Santa Fe and other NM attractions. I had a wonderful stay!

    Jeff2009-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay with the Bennett family and they made us feel very welcome and at home. We had the upstairs bedroom and it was great waking up and seeing all the country outside and all the sounds that go along with the country. I felt like Julie could be a very close friend with all of her interest in cooking, running and yoga. I got the chance to help with a food project and loved learning something new. It was a great place to hike, breath the fresh air of the county side. We will plan on staying for another trip another time and I will look forward to talking about receipes with Julie

  • We pulled into Julie and Scott's beautiful home amidst snow covered hills and threatening winter sky. New Mexico, with all it's charm, feels focused and diamond like here in this land. Warm at 20 bellow even. Our run of the house included fireside breakfasts, salons of books, and a wonderful kitchen to cook and hang out in. Perfect location to jump off into southwest adventure...

    Jason2016-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome home. Super kind and friendly family. Very much enjoyed my stay. Would book again.

    Jeremy2016-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Julie and Scott have a truly beautiful and peaceful home! We appreciated all the little touches like fresh cut flowers, a fridge in the room, snacks, and breakfast foods. Thank you so much for opening your home to us!

  • Great People in a great location! I would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting the Santa Fe/Taos area (and they have good coffee) Chuck

    Chuck2011-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • I came to New Mexico to start a new job after living outside the country for a long time, and Julie and Scott were the best possible way to get myself acquainted with a new way of life. The authentic adobe home is warm and inviting, with lots of spaces for hanging out. As long time residents with a strong connection to the land and it's history, they are able to provide thoughtful suggestions for any kind of activity in the area. In addition, the adjoining BLM land provides ample open space for exercise and quiet contemplation. I highly recommend these folks to anyone looking for an authentic valley experience you won't get in any conventional downtown accommodation.

The property was beautiful! It was fenced in and felt very secluded and safe. We had access to a trail on the property, although we didn't have time during our stay to take advantage of it. The home was very comfortable and met our needs nicely. We look forward to another stay there soon! We all will all highly recommend this property to all of our friends.

The kitchen had everything we needed and we used the grill as well. The hot tub was a wonderful bonus too. The views around the house are beautiful. We did some walking and were even joined by our host's sweet dog! We were about 20-30 minutes from downtown Santa Fe. My friends and I really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this rental!

  • Interior is nicer than the photos in terms of southwest design details and back patio off of kitchen. There are two units (we had the two bedroom); there's a studio that's attached (locked door connecting the units) that was occupied but we never really saw or heard them. It's a cool way to see Española, NM neighborhood. Short drive to Santa Fe Plaza and Bandelier. Fantastic views of the sunset from gazebo. Sleeping with windows open on the cold nights was great. Parmatma was super nice-willing to chat but also private. Great that they allowed our dog--trails just behind the property were very cool. Priced right.

    Margaret2016-05-31T00:00:00Z

Located on the vortex of the Camino Real & the Camino de Paz, adjacent to the Holy Cross Church, one of the most historic and oldest churches in New Mexico, most likely the oldest church in the USA, this place was an old mercantile store on the Plaza. I have divided it into two units (A&B). It is filled with local hand carved furniture, folk art, local paintings & crafts. A queen bed & single couch in the living room & a King bed in the bedroom & brand new Hot Tub make for a memorable stay.
There are two units on the property Casita A & Casita B. Both Casitas have hot tubs and may also be available to book both for groups. You have your own driveway in front of the Casita A. & a brand new, one or two person hot tub. This space is like a suite with multiple sleeping arrangements. $45. extra per night for the use of second bed. A large dining table and chairs make for a conference table as well as an eating place.
You will be staying in the oldest most historic place in NM. This is where it all started and then spread out from here. This place has been forgotten. My mission is to bring it back to the historic merit it deserves. By staying here, you are helping me to do that.
  • I highly recommend staying at Kathryn's casita! She has done a lovely job with the space. A very unique and special place for sure! And Kathryn is a very gracious and accommodating host!

I love Kathryn's attention to detail and true caring of her guests. Everything spotless, I adore the little gas stove, the TV nook in this space and the roomy yet cozy vibe of the entire experience. May seem silly, I love my own home BUT after 4 nights here, I hated leaving this morning! I travel with Gracie Dog and after full days exhibiting my art in Abiquiu Studio Tour, the forests and creeks in Truchas are close enough to go have a very private wilderness hike in. I required peace and no crowds and often use any possible excuse to go up the road a ways to beloved Truchas. a stellar experience, if you travel with more guests, family and friends, rent BOTH of Kathryn's units at this location for the grounded and precious perfection they offer. A true Northern New Mexico experiencia!

  • Kathryn was a great host; she was very responsive when I called or text. The place and its decor stays true to its location and rich Spanish influence. The historic church next door is a must see! I had a pleasant stay and would recommend this place!

  • It was amazing

    Gus2017-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place was extra special. The location in the church plaza in Santa Cruz is really special and the decor is amazing, full of wonderful antiques. Pet friendly was a huge plus for us. The place is really big. I remember seeing this place, the former Santa Cruz general store, for sale and wondering "What would anybody do with that place?" Kathryn has turned it into a gem of a guest house.

  • If I could give Kathryn’s casita six stars I would. It was incredibly spacious, lovely and more than we expected. She was very responsive and communicative and we had an incredible weekend

Northern New Mexico is spectacular! There's an aroma of chiles roasting & piñon smoke everywhere. Red chile ristras are brightly hanging to dry. Golden aspen & cottonwood flash their colors. On the historic Camino Real, our 100 year old Casita, rented in it's entirety, has a private entrance, enclosed patio with hot tub, two bedrooms with queen beds, one bath, kitchen & living room. There is a $45. charge per night for using two bedrooms. See Camino Real Casita A if more space is needed.
You will be staying in an historic adobe. in the oldest, most historic area in New Mexico. It is a quaint adobe casita, not the Taj Mahal. filled with local hand carved furniture, and other folk art from around here. Both bedrooms feature queen size beds and Organic cotton sheets. We change the sheets once a week unless requested otherwise. It is quiet and peace filled, close to walking trails, pueblos, ancient sites, casinos, Santa Fe and Taos and one of the oldest of churches in Northern New Mexico, perhaps the oldest in the USA. There is another separate unit on the property available with a King and Queen bed.
Santa Cruz is one of the oldest settlements in North America. We are on the sacred vortex of the Camino Real and the Camino de Paz. Everything in New Mexico began here and spread out from here to Santa Fe, Taos and Albuquerque. Living here is like living in a small European village. Located on the Camino Real, it is a giant time machine. I find ancient Mexican and Indian pot shards as well as Victorian and Fifties broken pottery all around. The four crown jewels of un-remodeled churches are all within easy distance. Certainly a must see is Holy Cross Church or La Iglesias de la Santa Cruz de la Cañada, being adjacent to The Casita. The plaza is just a parking lot now but I hope with interest, we can bring it back to life as it once was. Your staying here helps to bring that possibility to life.
  • The casita was eclectic, cozy, and clean. It had everything we needed on our short stay. Kathryn is very welcoming and available for questions.

  • Kathryn was incredible!!! The house was perfect! Everything I was wanting to experience in new Mexico! She was very accommodating and sweet. The hot tub was perfect.

  • Host is very nice and helpful. The house is very cute with beautiful artistic details. Hot tub was just what we needed. Beautiful patio was secluded and comfortable.

  • The casita was wonderfully secluded despite being right off the road, and day trips to the surrounding area were quick and easy!

    Ian2017-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • This was an extraordinary place!!! Loved it - so nicely appointed and yes maintained the character of an adobe house. The attention to detail was amazing. Everything worked great! And the hot tub was fantastic. Also Kata is an amazing person - you have to get to know her!! Will definitely be back.

    thomas2017-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • Relax in a hot tub after a day exploring this historical area, full of beautiful churches and great local artists. Or sit in the secluded patio area with a morning cup of coffee. The casita affords local artisan's work and everything you may require , even a washer and dryer. Kathryn is a pleasure to meet with great knowledge of the area. She is very helpful with any needs that may pop up. I will definitely be back as it was a lovely stay in every way.

Bath stocked with great natural shampoo, conditioner & soap. Complimentary tea & coffee. We pay attention to the details that make your stay pleasant and comfortable. Healing sessions and private yoga sessions are available upon request. Enjoy a soak in our chemical-free enzyme treated hot tub!
The room contains twin bunk beds comfortable memory foam mattresses, perfect for one or traveling friends or family (or a couple who don't mind sleeping somewhat separate!), writing/work desk, comfy chair for lounging/reading, and closet. Full bathroom with deep tub is just adjacent your room. We may share the bathroom on occasion if another guest is staying but otherwise it's all yours and you get priority regardless. Good strong wi-fi available. We are on a community well that serves about half the houses in our neighborhood. Our well water is healthy and perfectly safe for drinking(not treated with fluoride and other common chemicals put in water), bathing, etc, you will probably notice some staining in the toilet bowl due to the minerals in the well water.
Our home is a 1950s Stamm home in a peaceful residential neighborhood.
  • Annelise was a wonderful hostess! I received a healing massage and enjoyed their hot tub while there. Annelise even cooked breakfast in the morning. Couldn't ask for more!

  • This is the ideal reasonably priced clean and safe place to stay mid Santa Fe and Taos. Close to the Yogic center, Ojo Caliente and many sites in northern NM. Great strong and respectful family values. Annelise is a warm, friendly and accomodating.Great host. Enjoy your stay!

  • We were only there 1 night but we had a great experience! It was a perfect place to get the rest we needed. Annelise was very flexible with our check in time since we were running a bit late. Her 2 children are adorable!

    Shelley2017-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Communicative, so clean, and a wonderfully relaxed home! Would recommend. The hot tub experience was much needed (after a long road trip). Annelise was very sweet and hospitable.

  • This place is one of a rare find. Annelise is a very friendly host and makes sure her guests are feeling comfortable during their stay. The room was very comfortable and she also arranged for bedtime tea service. Best part was the breakfast. It was very fulfilling, tasteful and energetic. She also prepared tea for my road. One of the best hosts you will ever come across in Espanola. Thanks a lot for letting me stay.

  • We stayed here for the weekend to go to an event in Santa Fe, and we're so glad we did! It was right off the freeway and in walking distance of a new walmart, taco bell, and wendy's! The hot tub room has cedar walls which was cool, and the place had a really nice smell. Annalise let us use her DVD player, and was super accommodating with our late check in time. The bed and the sofa were in the same room, which was fine, but make sure you're comfortable sleeping with the people you're with in the same room as you ;) Previous reviewers mentioned the windows not having curtains and that didn't bother us much because they were just head level.

  • What a wonderful retreat! Julie could not have been more accommodating, hospitable, helpful and lovely. Her home was clean, spacious, comfortable, cozy and packed full of all the vacation necessities (ample games, movies, books, a stocked kitchen, a new grill, surrounded by nature, quiet, and peaceful). Upon our arrival Julie made sure to answer any questions we had about the house and was also kind enough to assist us with an amazing list of things to do, see, eat, etc. It was like having a personal guide into Santa Fe and the surrounding area. Top rated. If you're going NM, I would highly recommend looking her up. Our group had the best time! Thanks Julie!

  • We loved staying at Julie and Scott's house. It was cozy and warm, perfect for the chilly holiday week. We especially loved curling up in front of the gas fireplace in the front room. As hosts, they thought of everything, and their older son was nearby to help us with anything we needed. One of the few places we've stayed that really felt like home.

    Jeff2015-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Julie and Scott and their son are lovely people ..... so my comments are directed toward the accomodations and the web description .... ... ... web description of the downstairs bedroom (with loft) and the bath should be clarified. The room is small, cluttered, barely lit .... an additional bed (mattress) would cover any walking space. I think the upper bedroom is probably a better choice, ... altho the bath is shared and down the stairs. The shared bath is shared with all family members and all other guests. The "traditional NM working organic farm" is not a "farm"... but more accurately a family garden ..... I had hoped to learn something about irrigation and farming, as described on the web site. The description on the web site is VERY mis-leading.

    donna2011-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Large space, with great outdoor amenities. Clear communication about the property and the care of it.

    Robert2016-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • I was looking for a place that felt like a home rather than a rental for a unique Thanksgiving retreat for my family of 7 adults. The Adobe Farmhouse was perfect. I really enjoyed staying in a house with history and outdoor space. We took many walks and fed the horse an apple or two. What a treat! Julie exceeded my expectations, welcoming us personally, giving us a tour, providing breakfast, and even upgrading one of the double beds to a queen to make sure my concerns about space were addressed. We took her up on many of her recommendations for local activities and restaurants. The house is definitely quirky with only 2 bedrooms that have doors, but we were all comfortable and refreshed by our retreat.

    Valerie2015-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Julie was very helpful in getting us information about the house, property, and Santa Fe. The house was spacious and comfortable! They provided breakfast goodies, which was especially nice to have the morning after our arrival. Julie was very open with her kitchen and we found that she had every gadget and pan we could have needed. Scott came out one day and told us the history of the property, which was fun. They, and Max, were all so welcoming. We loved Bella! She is a very sweet and affectionate cat. Loves to sit in laps. Thank you to both of you for opening your home!

    Chris2015-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Since our group's stay at Julie and Scott's beautiful home, we've decided that we want to build a commune and live together all the time. This will be tricky, since four of us live in Texas and three in New York City, but if we can figure out how to create as hospitable and welcoming a place as this, we'll do it. We were in Santa Fe for a dear friend's wedding and decided to stay at this farmhouse for budgetary reasons, and so we could all spend time together. Our party comprised two couples, a baby, and two single gals. Julie and Scott went above and beyond to make us feel welcome -- including making their master bedroom available for myself, my husband, and 10-month-old. The house is huge! Each room has ample privacy. Baffled by the time change, our kiddo woke up at 4:30 every morning, but even with his chatting and bumping around, no one else heard him in the other rooms. There's a charming kitchen with a long table perfect for home-cooked meals and a warm and cozy living room, which is where we gathered to catch up, tell stories, and enjoy each others' company. Several of us ambled around the property to say hi to the livestock, and all of us enjoyed the lived-in, family feel of the home. The house is about a 35 minute drive from the Santa Fe plaza, which we knew going into our stay and wasn't too bad, especially considering the extraordinary savings and extra amenities we enjoyed staying here rather than in a generic hotel in town. Julie was very responsive before we booked and kindly answered all of my many questions. My only regret was that I didn't get to meet her in person while we were there! Do note that in their "House Rules" they mention their cat, Bella. She was personable and kept mostly to herself, but you should take note if anyone in your party is allergic to cats and plan accordingly. (Two of us just had to pick up some allergy medicine.) She is present throughout the house! Also, it was quite cold when we stayed (lows in the upper teens), and while the house is heated and all the beds have cozy comforters, it's chilly when you're walking around, so bring layers and house slippers for the most comfort. Thanks again to Julie and Scott for welcoming us into your home! We had a truly marvelous time and would definitely stay again.

    Jennifer2012-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • We felt right at home at Julie and Scot's...so welcome and yet encouraged to do our thing. We spent two nights over a weekend here -- two parents and two daughters, 16 and 20. We slept well in 3 wonderful sleeping spaces. We enjoyed the animals, particularly Belle, and the light breakfast food was just perfect to get our day going. The house was even more interesting and comfortable than described. The neighborhood is very quiet, rural. There is a nice trail nearby among the Hoodoos that my daughter went for a run on and enjoyed. There are farm animals and a nice stream to check out as well. We spent one day going to Ojo Caliente Hot Springs (worth the time and investment -- and the hiking trails are nice) and the other day exploring Taos and Arroyo Seco. It was a special family weekend for us; those get harder and harder as the girls get older. We are grateful for Julie and Scot's warm hospitality!

  • Deborah is a great host! Very responsive from our first contact and flexible to meet our specific needs. She had a welcome book of tips of the area and a batch of delicious homemade cookies - after a long day in the car it was a great welcome. The kitchen had enough basics to be functional and tea and coffee well stocked. House was clean and nicely decorated - very comfortable. Toiletries were a nice touch and we enjoyed the Trader Joe’s products - my husband works for TJ in San Diego so it was a familiar product assortment. We would stay again it is central to explore Chimayo and Santa Fe and the local restaurants were tasty especially La Cocina

The Courtyard casita is the third casita to open on our family ranch. Originally our family library office it's loaded with shelves and charm-- including an original kiva fireplace, comfortable queen bed, smart TV and small, but new, bathroom. It has a hotel kitchen, microwave, coffee and fridge and plenty of wood for the fireplace. Private entrance, easy parking. To see the other casitas on the ranch search for Casita Pojoaque and Family Casita Pojoaque.
Guests can explore the ranch from the doggy corral to the hundred year old barns and fields.
Just minutes from Cities if Gold and Buffalo Thunder resorts and fifteen minutes to the center of Santa Fe or Los Alamos. Also there’s a lovely winery just down the road and a couple great choices for New Mexico cuisine including El Parasol and Gabriel’s. My son would like me to add Dairy Queen.
  • One of the best AirB&Bs we have stayed in! We highly recommend Cary’s place. Her casita is very clean, quiet, with some very nice very romantic touches. Cary was very responsive and provided all instructions well before our arrival. She also provided some small snacks for a quick breakfast and coffee. The self-check-in worked well. Easy parking on the ranch, just meters away from the casita. Would definitely stay there again. Thanks, Cary!

  • This is a comfy, cozy place to stay if your looking for a place with character and history in the Santa Fe area. It was a great location if you want to explore the Jemez Mountains and the National Monuments as well as visit Santa Fe. We will recommend Cary and her ranch to family and friends.

  • We were driving up from Albuquerque to Taos and decided to break up the trip. Had a great stay at the casita! Was exactly what we expected and Cary was very responsive. Would recommend.

  • Carys quiet, off the grid and peaceful casita was perfect for my fiancé and I to escape to after a day of exploring Santa Fe. When we got in late we discovered a bit of an electrical issue that didn’t allow the space heaters (or any of the outlets) to work. I called Cary (at the very late hour of 11:30) and she was quick to answer and try to brain storm solutions. We were unable to resolve the issue before we left however we enjoyed our stay immensely. The casita itself is well decorated, maintained and extremely comfortable. Despite being very cold we were very pleased with the accommodations. A perfect place out of town to relax by the fire for the night.

  • Getting up to the house was a bit difficult because of the ice and snow, but the overall stay was absolutely amazing! The house was gorgeous and looked exactly like the pictures. The view from the balconies were beautiful as well. The kitchen was very spacious, so cooking Christmas dinner for 6 people was a breeze. If you're looking for a place to stay that has complete solitude and is quiet, then this is the house for you. The only thing is if you have multiple people coming, then you should probably bring an extra TV for the bedroom as there are only 2 available (one in the living room and one in the master bedroom). There are no TVs in the guest bedrooms. Other than that, everything was phenomenal.

  • The place is amazing and the view is mind blowing. Deborah is very responsive. She sent me very detailed instructions before the check in date. Help yourself wine and liquor made us feel like home. Overall highly recommended.

  • My family and I had a lovely visit. Communication with Deborah prior to arrival was great. The views and architecture are absolutely stunning! It was a wonderful retreat and a nice way to enjoy the area.

  • BEYOND AWESOME! DO IT!!

    John2016-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Deborah and Coley’s house is every bit as remarkable as the pictures suggest. It’s an awesome bit of architecture, improbably but perfectly situated and designed to provide sweeping views of the sort you usually need to spend a couple hours of hiking to achieve. It’s furnished and decorated warmly and outfitted with absolutely everything I could possibly need. It’s just perfect if you’re looking to be out of town and enjoy the incredible scenery. I had Spring weather, but I’d love to be there again with the snow. Getting to the house is easier than one would imagine given the sense of remoteness you feel once there. It’s an easy, relatively short drive from Santa Fe (perhaps 40 mins all told from the Plaza or Farmers Market), and the last 10 minutes on the well-serviced dirt road posed no difficulties, though a 4x4 is recommended. And its location proved a great jumping off point for exploring the sights between Santa Fe and Taos. In Deborah and Coley, you have the most generously hospitable and interesting hosts imaginable. I typically rent out a place to myself, but I consider it amazing good luck that they were there and welcomed me as a sharing guest. They went above and beyond the call to provide invaluable local advice that really made my visit special. But in fact, getting to know them and enjoying their company turned out to be the best part of the trip.

  • What an incredible experience! This lovely home was a wonderful retreat for my family. The listing did a beautiful job of describing all of the great amenities. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. They were readily accessible to answer any questions we had. They are very generous and have all that you would need to enjoy a relaxing getaway. The views were so inspiring! It was wonderful to wake up in a cozy bed and just look out the window to breathtaking views of a valley and mountains in the background. We spent countless hours in front of the wood burning fireplace. My husband and pup took long hikes around the property. The fully equipped kitchen was great to cook Christmas dinner. All in all, a fantastic experience and we are hoping to come back in the future.

  • It feels a bit like its own private island – just with all the comforts of an elegant five star retreat that feels more like home. Turn off the main access road and after 5 miles of rolling desert hills, you instantly know you’re someplace special. Breeze through gated access and round a hilltop cliff and you catch your first view of the house against the stunning backdrop of the valley. (I may have fallen out of my chair except I had a seatbelt on). Inside you can't help but marvel at the details that add to the charm of staying in such a unique and beautiful space - sculpture and art both adorn the long massive hallway with its cheery yellows and turquoise landscapes -The living room with its soft modern furniture in complimentary grays, leather chairs, salmon red accents and touches of cultural sculpture. Forget a good book? There are plenty to choose from in the library like hallway. The atmosphere is nothing but warm and cozy which is hard to achieve in a house this size. There are spectacular views from just about every corner. The backside of the house opens up to a porch acting like a second living space, connecting every room on the first level but designed in such a way that each room feels like it has its own private balcony. The granite kitchen contains everything you could possibly require whether you’re looking to simply flip omelets for two or create a dinner for 10. While you can be fully connected, the atmosphere will inspire you to throw your phone in a basket and forget it’s there until you leave. At night, all that’s left to do is sink into the softest sofa in front of a fire and watch the unending stars come out through the floor to ceiling windows…or better yet from the porch with a hot toddy. You’ve never see a starry night sky like this! When you’re not enjoying the view, you might spend your afternoons hiking (sunrise is especially breathtaking) and in the fall collecting piñon seeds from the blooming trees (they look like pine cones). The beauty of the location: you’re in the middle of your own private valley, but Santa Fe and its art galleries are a hop, skip, and a jump away. Also Chimayo, a lovely town nearby, chalked full of history. And The High Road to Taos - its charming towns and views will spoil you. Deborah couldn’t have been more of a joy to correspond with. Such a lovely and gracious host. She’ll make sure you have everything you need for a perfect stay. You’ll feel like a true guest in her home. Having hopped around 36 countries I can honestly say this is one of the most special stays I’ve been blessed to experience. A beautiful choice for families, getaways, couples, and adventurers. Deborah, thank you for the lovely stay in your spectacular home!

  • Deborah's home is comfortable, spacious and inviting. Our family had a lovely time staying there. The view is breathtaking! Although it is quite remote and secluded, the home is in a central location for traveling around Northern New Mexico. We enjoyed being there very much!

  • Very quaint and secluded. Mary was a great host and great with communication. It’s quite a drive away from town so if you are looking for a nice country get away this is for you! The sights were beautiful from the front patio and the decor was authentic Southwestern! Would stay again!

  • Very charming and well-located spot for exploring northern New Mexico. We appreciated the peaceful and quiet property, with plenty of stargazing. The casita itself was perfect for two; we had everything we needed and appreciated Bob & Mary's warm welcome and hospitality.

    Erica2017-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first AirB&B experience and we were pleasantly surprised with our stay at Casa Nambe. Mary and Bob have tastefully decorated their adobe casita and filled it with all the amenities to make you feel at home. They were very friendly and shared information about places to see in the area. As this is in a remote area, it is very quite (except for the occasional dog barking in the distance). Cell phone reception was often spotty. Their internet was very good and Bob was helpful a couple of times with the TV service. The mattress on the bed needs replacing, as it is no longer firm. All in all, this was a good stay!

    Chris2017-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a week in Adobe Casita and had a wonderful time! The Casita is one of three at Casa Nambe, and is the smallest, but still a very good size for one couple (1 bedroom +living room, 1 bathroom and stand up kitchen). The place was very clean and the towels were extra plush and much appreciated. Internet and TV very easy to use, but there is so much to do you won't need it! The casita is about an easy 20 minute drive north of Santa Fe and within easy access of Los Alamos & Bandelier, just off the High Road to Taos, a straight shot up to Ghost Range and within a few miles of several grocery stores, casinos and restaurants. This was absolutely the perfect location for us and Mary and Bob are terrific. I highly recommend and if we are back in Santa Fe we'll definitely stay here again.

    Rachel2017-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • This property is beautiful, and in a peaceful location. The casita has a perfect layout for having a home away from home in a traditional New Mexico style. Having the kitchen, separate living room, and a private patio are all nice conveniences especially if there are two of you and one likes to get up earlier than the other and you don't want to disturb the other. I enjoyed rolling out my yoga mat on the patio for morning stretches and the daybed in the living room is a great place for an afternoon nap or curling up with a book. There is access to a common area with grill, firepit, and laundry which are great bonuses. Bob is a great host and helps guests feel at home.

    Melinda2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful place to stay in a beautiful area of New Mexico. The casita was tidy and filled with amenities from kitchen basics to bathing essentials. Bob and Mary are gracious hosts. I look forward to returning.

    Tina2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice and private! Mary & Bob were super hosts! GREAT OUTDOOR SPACE TOO! SURPRISINGLY STRONG wifi connection and more than all the comforts of home!! If you have family in POJOAQUE OR NAMBE, It's perfect! Also if you like to gamble but prefer quietness instead of staying at the casino, this perfect place has 4 different casitas and is less than 5-10 minutes from BUFFALO THUNDER OR CITIES OF GOLD! HIGHLY RECOMMEMD THIS FABULOUS PLACE!!! We can't wait to visit again!

The architecturally designed house is located a few miles north of Santa Fe in Nambe' on the scenic Taos High Road. It is central to much of the cultural and wildlife areas or N. New Mexico, being 50 minutes to Taos, 10 minutes to the opera, 20 minutes to the Rio Grande Gorge and much more. Sitting on 3/4 acres of fenced yard, the house comes with its own private tennis court. Well behaved pets are welcome. We have lived for many years abroad and welcome people from other lands and cultures.
The house was built up by Allan McKnown, a well known local architect who loved adobe and wood construction. The small Kiva fireplace in the living room makes the house warm and cozy in the winter, while the generous portal allows for great outdoor living.
Nambe' is an old Spanish and Pueblo area that is known for it's lush vegetation and easy access to surrounding towns, ski areas and the unique culture of northern New Mexico. Many people have now moved into the area from Santa Fe because of its bucolic environment.
  • Very nice place! Liked the architecture and decor!

  • Phil and his lovely pup Charlie were so welcoming. Their casita is gorgeous and very secluded with a lovely yard. Phil gave us great recommendations on local spots and came to check on us and make sure we were comfortable. We only wish we had more time to spend at the casita but two nights at his place was just what we needed. Thanks Phil and Charlie!

  • My event company has found a solid gem in Phil's Airbnb! It's proximity to our destination venue makes work at the neighboring La Mesita Ranch so very convenient and easy. We'll definitely be back..probably a lot!! The value for the space, ease of use, and overall aesthetic can't be beat in the area!
