Parque
“Tilden Park is a gorgeous (and huge) park with incredible views of San Francisco. Within the park there are plenty of things to do, including riding a steam train, the “little farm,” etc. It’s a wonderful place to sit and take in the sights of the East Bay and beautiful San Francisco. ”

Parque
“When the weather is nice, you can barely see the grass due to the throngs of people lounging around. Luckily, the park was recently renovated and is big enough that you're bound to find a spot you like. The southwest corner is good for a panoramic view of the city skyline (and usually far enough away from the folks enjoying their herbal refreshments on the northern slope). There's also a nice kid's playground, although it's geared more towards older kids.”

Pastelería

“Millennials love to stand in lines. Go mid-morning on weekdays to avoid long lines. But, the food is well worth it! Riches beyond your wildest dreams: butter-golden pains au chocolat, cappuccinos with ferns drawn in dense foam and croque monsieurs turbo-loaded with ham, two kinds of cheese and béchamel. Don't be dismayed by the inevitable line out the door – it moves fast – but be aware that lolling in Dolores Park is the only possible post-Tartine activity.”

“Local treasure. Focusing on California. Special exhibits have featured Dia de Los Muertos, Ray and Charles Eames, and the Art of Burning Man. Check out the Friday Nights at the Museum events. Outdoor maze like sculpture garden is great and open to the public for no fee. ”

Emplazamiento histórico
“Alcatraz was the site of the first lighthouse in the Western United States but became a federal penitentiary from 1934-1963, housing famous convicts such as Al Capone and George "Machine Gun" Kelly. Now, this once infamous prison island is part of the Bay Area’s 80,000-acre Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Located one-and-a-half miles from Fisherman's Wharf, Alcatraz is one of the city's most popular attractions. A visit to the island includes a tour of the cell house where visitors can see where the prisoners lived. Although the last inmates were transferred off the island in 1963, the main prison block with its steel bars, claustrophobic (9 x 5-foot) cells, mess hall, library and "dark holes," where recalcitrant languished in inky blackness, is still structurally intact.”

Barrio
“Constantly bustling -- people use the square mostly as a space to relax and soak up a bit of sun, and to wallow in the atmosphere created by the surrounding cable cars, hotels and shoppers. Great for people watching! There is free wi-fi provided by the city. Look under the leaves of the greenery in the planters, and you'll find a few power outlets for your laptop.”

“See the San Francisco Giants play at home! We love the ballpark. It's a true American experience. The views are stunning and if you're lucky, you'll see a home run ball splash into the bay. Bring layers - it gets chilly!”
