Lugares para alojarse en Currie
Need a week vacation!! This would be a great place to stay. This beautiful basement has walk out doors that will take you out to a breath taking scenery of the outdoors with the Des Moines river going right through the back yard. There are beautiful flower gardens to walk through, and a large pond to sit beside and just listen to the birds singing or even see the deer walking through.
I also have access for campers and tents for a larger get together, this will be an extra charge. If its hunting your comming for I'm only yards away from a large DNR Hunting grounds. There are groomed snowmobile trails close by, and cross country skiing.
We have no grocery store here but there is a gas station/ convenience store in town. Currie also has a park that you can take the kids there and have a great time, you can also play pickle ball there, horse shoes, basket ball and tennis. If it's the Shetek lakes you need, they are only a few miles away. The Shetek state Park is 3 miles away so you can rent (canoes, paddle boards. Paddle boats, kayaks and there is also a gift shop there. 37 miles away are the Jeffers Petroglyphs 20 miles away is the Laura Engles Wilder home and museum, the Pageant will be July (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) There are 3 golf courses within 10 miles.

Historic 3 bedroom home in small historic prairie town near Lake Shetek. Beautiful flower gardens and a view of all the action in town. 3 blocks from historic End-O-Line Railroad Park and Museum. 20 miles from the Laura Engels Wilder home.
This home was built in 1890 by one of the 2 founding brothers of Currie; Archibald Currie. He had it built for his mother. One of the photos is the oldest picture we have found of the house. It has been added on to several times. We have updated the entire house but there are still a few finishing touches to be done. The home is kid friendly but not kid proof. Please supervise the children. Although the house is on the main thoroughfare of Currie, it is more quiet than anywhere in a large town or city. This is not a 5 star hotel. It is an old house that we have fixed up but we love it and enjoy sharing it with others. The bathroom has a tub and shower with a ceramic tile enclosure. The main floor and second floor have been updated and improved. The basement is an old style basement that is occasionally damp. The furnace, water heater, etc. are there but no reason for guests to use it except that it has an extra toilet there that can be handy. The main floor bedroom has a comfortable real queen size bed. The upstairs bedrooms each have new queen size memory foam beds and one room has an additional single bed with mattress and box spring. The main floor has a living room with 50" Roku TV and WiFi, dining room with large antique table with extra leaves that can sit 12 comfortably, large fully stocked kitchen with lots of space plus an island, large capacity washer/dryer right off kitchen, main bedroom across the hall from the bathroom, and maybe the best room in the house is the sun room with glass on 3 sides that looks out on the main street of Currie where you can watch the action of town (even though it is very quiet). Several outdoor spaces on a large lot include a front porch with seating that is great in a rain storm, a large concrete patio on the side of the house with a fire pit, gas grill, table and chairs, several flower gardens, a couple of vegetable gardens an active bird bath and great neighbors. There is plenty of parking on the street on 2 sides of the house. You can also park in the driveway of the garage but street parking is closer. There is an old garage and a tool shed that guests do not have access to.
Currie is a very small midwestern farm community and it feels like that. Most people will wave and if you do not wave back they will know you are from out-of-town. Everyone in town knows everyone else and they look out for each other. They love to meet new people so make sure you introduce yourself.

Disconnect in your own private, rustic house on the prairie! Bird watch from the deck, take the canoe out, swim or float in the lake, bring your boat or fish from the dock on the calm, wilderness waters in rural Minnesota. There are two, private docks to access the water and canoes available for you! This "Little House on the Prairie" retreat is perfect for multi-generational family groups, telling stories and connecting to the wilderness and wildlife.
The home was built in the 1800's and we try to maintain the historic feel. There are 7 bedrooms upstairs and a pull out couch on the main floor with large common areas. There is a grill for you to use and several picnic tables to dine outdoors.
The neighborhood is pretty much just you and the wildlife. There are no immediate neighbors. There is a bar/restaurant a couple miles down the road and town about 5 miles away.

Hear the whistles of daily freight trains as they pass your second-story room in this old farmhouse. Walnut Grove with a population of about 800, is one the many Midwest towns once called home by the family of Charles and Caroline Ingalls, "Ma and Pa" to Laura Ingalls Wilder, author of "The Little House on the Prairie" series of books. Visit the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum in town, the Ingalls Dugout Site on the banks of Plum Creek, and the Sod House in nearby Sanborn to enrich your stay.
The house is a blend of old farmhouse and newer remodeled home. The tea room, parlor, and upstairs bedrooms and bath are reserved for guests. The rest of the home is the private host area. There are three bedrooms in the house. >>This listing is for “The Little Room on the Prairie.” << It is the smallest room, with a full size bed with a heated mattress pad, a small closet, and a single chair. Note: this room has no heat. A small space heater can be provided if needed. Other rooms (separate listings) are "Plum Corner," the largest and warmest room, with two queen beds, spacious closet and room for two chairs; and "Rose's Room" with two queen beds, average-sized closet, small table, tiny book case, no chairs and please note: no heat. A small space heater can be provided if needed. All listings include use of a shared bath with a generously-sized shower, toilet, and small sink. Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. The two-lane state highway is well traveled by trucks during the day; relatively quiet at night. Freight trains pass by at all hours of the day and they blow their whistles. Thankfully there are no clanking bells and crossing arms. Cold winter nights can mean chilly rooms. I’ll do my best to keep you warm, but in winter you might want to bring your coziest jammies and a pair of warm socks. As previously mentioned, The Little Room on the Prairie and Rose's Room have no furnace vents. In the olden days homes simply were not heated and cooled as they are today.
Visitors come to Walnut Grove to tour the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum. The museum and gift store have seasonal hours (www.walnutgrove.org). Three weekends in July, Laura fans come for the Wilder Pageant, an outdoor reenactment of the Ingalls Family’s prairie life. --Nellie's Cafe serves breakfast and lunch; closed Sundays. --The Walnut Grove Bar & Grill serves lunch and dinner, has a full bar with pool tables, and a liquor store; closed Sundays. They open at 10:30 a.m. but closing times vary for the liquor store, kitchen and bar; due to weather, day of the week, and other factors--it's a good idea to call for times. --Bubai Food Store has fresh, frozen, and prepared foods, sundries, ice and a purified water dispenser. They also feature a wide selection of Asian grocery items. Walnut Grove has a thriving Hmong population. --Hoyt Oil and Convenience store has food, drinks, snacks, gas, lottery, and an ATM machine. -- Fond Memories at the Creamery is a well-stocked scrapbooking, arts and crafts store located on Main Street downtown. @fondmemorieswalnutgrove --Jossie's Junk With Purpose is a wonderful country home decor store on the west end of town. Many of the home's furnishings came from this local shop. Wed-Sat 9-5 Tracy, MN is the next town to the west, 15 minutes away; groceries, vintage and thrift stores, hardware stores, a Subway sandwich shop, and my dentist. Marshall is north on Hwy 59 for 15 minutes more; Walmart, Menards, Runnings, HyVee, Aldi, a touchless car wash, liquor store, Culvers, Goodwill and much more, plus Southwest Minnesota State University. Go Mustangs! Revere is the closest town to the east, about a 5 minute drive; and home of Bruiser's Place; real good food and a full bar. Lamberton is 7 minutes further east. It's a quaint town and home of the Main Street Peddlar antique store, and The Knitted Swan, a store with a diverse selection of craftsman-made upcycled furniture, yarn, and knitted goods and supplies. Owner Bill Swan is responsible for many of the upgrades made to this old house. During early-August, Sturgis Rally bikers pass by in impressive numbers, with a 7-hour due west journey ahead of them. Then, a few weeks later, they head back east. Walnut Grove is just one of the many tiny rural farm towns in southwestern Minnesota, but it seemed a good spot for the Ingalls to settle. I, and the many avid fans of Laura and her family agree, "east or west, home is best." While you're here, you are home.

With only one farm down the road and a lightly used public boat launch, you'll likely have the lake all to yourself. (30 min) - Learn from the area's indigenous people at Jeffers Petroglyphs. Look carefully and you'll find more than 5,000 rock carvings spanning back over 7,000 years. (35 minutes) - Public Pools in Slayton and Tracy. (both 25 minutes)

My place is close to Pipestone Monument, Laura Ingalls Wilder Trail, Marshall, MN, Parks, Lakes. You’ll love my place because of the location, the ambiance, and the outdoors space. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids).
Quiet cozy home. Two restaurants in town, a lake for recreation or fishing and a three par 9 hole golf course.
Quiet and peaceful. Close to a church and blocks away from downtown restaurant

Please come and enjoy our newly redecorated spacious home that our friends and family have described as providing them with a feeling of vacationing at a Grand Lodge. You will enjoy all of the privacy and freedom of being on private property in the country. Take a stroll around the grounds, pick rhubarb (or weeds from the flower garden if so inclined). We are the ideal location for Wilder Pageant attendees as you will be taking in the authentic sights and sounds on the banks of Pell Creek.
Our Rural serene space on this planet is Home of Laura Ingalls Wilder and we are 3 miles from the Wilder Pageant grounds. We are also minutes from Lake Laura, Wilder Museum, Nellies Café, Walnut Grove Bar and Grill. You will find some unique shopping finds at Fond Memories and Jossie's Junk With Purpose. We are also a close drive to Lake Shetek State Park. In nearby Tracy you will find Bonnie and Clydes Bar and Grill along with Bonnie's Botique and Lights and Beyond store. There is also an Aquatic center in Tracy. There are some great additional dining experiences to be enjoyed at Bittons Road house in Garvin, The Farmhouse in Wanda and even fine dining at Lakeside Hideaway in Currie.
We reside on our own acreage and enjoy our privacy. It is quiet with no "big city noises" interfering with our serene property. We have an abundance of trees and a creek that has become a haven for not only Mark and I but, for the wildlife that we see on a daily basis right out of our windows or from our large deck.
