  • June is a great host and the accommodation is perfect. Just what we needed as a relaxing base for trips out to beaches and mountain biking with our three kids and dog. Hot tub was a nice touch.

  • A great place to stay for a secluded retreat or couples get away.

    Alex2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • A group of 4 of us stayed in the Mountain Lodge and loved every second of it. The lodge was immaculate, very cosy and the perfect place to unwind and relax. June was a fantastic host and thought of everything - from a folder of 'Things to do in the area' and details of local eateries/takeaways - to providing the kitchen essentials (bread, milk etc) which was a lovely unexpected gesture as well as Bathrobes and a complimentary bottle of prosecco which we enjoyed in the hot tub whilst watching a film :). Would highly recommend and can safely say we will be booking up again for next year.

Glyn Cynwal Cottage is in an ideal location, nestled in the upper Swansea valley (9 miles from M4 Junction 45), on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park and close to the Black Mountain. While the mountains are tempting for walking and cycling, the glorious Gower coastline is also only a short drive away, with its sandy beaches, wildlife and surfing. Glyn Cynwal Isaf Cottage has views over Rhiwfawr and Gwrhyd mountain, Allt-y-Grug and The Black Mountain with excellent walking straight from the door and with lots to do; easily accessible to The Swansea Valley, Ystradgynlais and The Neath Valley. The Palleg Golf Course is only three fields away, and nearby there are three pubs offering friendly service and local food, as well as several supermarkets. Visit Craig-Y-Nos Country Park (7 miles), Cefn-Yr-Erw (5 miles) primate sanctuary or the Dan Yr Ogof caves (7 miles), or for a unique day out take a picnic to the spectacular waterfalls of the Vale of Neath (9 miles). If you prefer culture to climbing, visit Hay-on-Wye with its wealth of bookshops and famous festival, only around an hour away by car, or come for the International Jazz Festival nearby in Brecon every August. We're in a prime position to reach much of South Wales easily, and are always happy to recommend things to do and see.
  • Brilliant. Beautiful. Charming. We are a family of 5, and loved it!!! Rugby field and garden for the kids to play, fireplace, cable TV, wifi, all a family needs in a place that has so much character!!! Straight from 1804 but dates back probably to 1690. We would not hesitate in staying here again. Mali is a wonderful host. Caring and has a creative flair and attention to detail. She'll look after you and make you feel special.

    Stuart2014-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • The property ticked every box, was in a fantastic location in great scenery, and feeling rural without being remote. Mali was an excellent host, greeting us with Welsh Cakes on arrival and help when we needed it. A faultless experience!

    Phil2017-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was beautiful and very clean and tidy. Mali greeted us and told us where everything was. She is close by in case of queries. We were walking in the Black Mountain's and the cottage was a great base for us. It is very easy to get there from the M4. We would have liked to have more time to enjoy the cottage especially the jacuzzi bath! I would definitely come back and stay in the cottage again.

It's decorated beautifully and the bed is so so comfortable! Best nights sleep we've had. The hot tub is great too easy to get going and so nice just sitting looking at the scenery. The hosts was very friendly offering suggestions of places to see and checking if we needed anything more. It really is a little gem and I'll defiantly be booking again and recommending it to all my friends and family. Thank you!! X

Capel Cartref is a renovated chapel, now a 5 bedroom house situated in a village 12 miles from Swansea and close to Brecon Beacons. There are 4 double beds plus a room with two single beds. The kitchen is equipped with washing machine, electric cooker, microwave, two fridge freezers. The lounge is spacious with an upstairs seating area. The garden is enclosed but beyond the back gate is River Twrch. There is parking for four cars. The chapel is detached but close to other houses.
Capel Cartref offers a unique spacious getaway, with it's vaulted ceiling and original chapel features. It is peaceful and perfect for family gatherings. The chapel is located close to breathtaking sites such as The Gower, just a 40 minute drive will take you to Rhossilli Bay and Three Cliffs bay and just fifteen minutes in the car takes you to Brecon Beacons. Capel Cartref has had 87 reviews on TripAdvisor. It has suited many groups and families.
The chapel is situated in a village, along a 'B' Road, however, once inside the building, peace and space surrounds you.
  • Before we even arrived me and my party of 5 were amazed with the level of communication. Marnie gave advice on best places to visit and local "must dos". When we arrived we were greeted with a gorgeous house. The kitchen was stocked with Everything you could want. Plenty of bowls, plates, cutlery and glasses. Enough to provide for us 3 times over. Items such as the slow cooker were the icing on the cake. The house is spacious. We had a "day in day" and there was more than enough room for us all. Every room was at the highest standard and perfectly clean. Any query we had was dealt with swiftly. Easily the best communication I've had on my trips. Showers were also powerful which was a delight and the bathrooms spacious. If you're thinking of staying here, stop thinking and do it!!! You won't be disappointed. We will be back!

  • I had such an amazing weekend here with my friends and family. Marnie has been an amazing host and really looked after us. The house is breath taking and is event more beautiful in real life. Thank you for giving us a memory we'll never forget. I shall be coming here again soon xxxx

  • We had a great stay in a beautiful house! The house is very well designed for a comforable stay of 10 people (we were two families), and very well mainained - everything seems new, from furniture to kitchen appliances. Obviously a lot of thought was invested in planning, design and furnishing of the house and the result is brilliant! This is one of the best and nicest places we ever stayed in. Although we didn't meet Marnie in person, she was available online or by phone to answer any question quickly and efficiently. The location is also great - short drive from many park attractions and also from many stores.

Situated in close proximity to Brecon Beacons, this cosy cottage will be a wonderful place to stay for anyone who is visiting the area. There are three bedrooms: a master bedroom with double beds, a bedroom with a bunk bed and a single bedroom. There are some excellent places to eat near by such as the PenYcae Inn and the Abercrave Inn and a lot of beautiful walks such as in Craig Y Nos Park.
  • A beautiful, cozy and spacious cottage on the edge of the village and on the edge of the national park. Great communication with the host, perfect check in and out and everything within the cottage is in great working order, very clean and new with a charming exterior. Easy access to the national park by car, bus or on foot and easy to walk to the center of the village with its cafes, shops and supermarket. Overall a great experience, one of the best places I've had the pleasure of staying in.

We have small pubs, a shop, The Tregib Bar & Restaurant, a small tourist information centre with coffee shop, a cinema, and several takeaway eateries, many with free delivery. Brynamman is the Gateway to the Brecon Beacons National Park, and is located at the very top of the Amman Valley, with Ammanford town located 7 miles away at its base. There is a lovely off road cycle path running through the valley from Brynamman to Ammanford following the river Amman down stream.

  • Visited in October - 2 adults, 2 dogs, during an unseasonably glorious spell of weather. The cottage was perfect for our requirements and had pretty much everything we needed. Very friendly village, always great when you can bring your dog into the pub and no-one bats an eyelid (except at how big he is!). Great walking in the area and plenty to see. Hopeful that we might be able to visit again sometime :)

  • Steve's cottage was a lovely find, everything was clean and it was far more spacious than expected. There were so many perfect finishing touches that made our stay even better, from goodies to having a slow cook and providing the basics everywhere inc bubble bath and milk etc.

  • Myself and two friends had a lovely stay at Nant Melyn. The cottage itself is beautifully decorated and very clean. The kitchen is well equipped to cook any meals you might fancy. The cottage is in walking distance to a pub and a small convenience store and the area is very quiet and peaceful - all we could hear was the birds. I recommend the George Inn about a ten minute drive away - great food and service. Booking is a good idea as it gets very busy. Steve's communication was great, informative enough that we didn't have any questions before or during or stay. We met his mum on check out who was lovely. Thank you for a lovely, relaxing stay!

When we arrived, the house was spotless and he'd left us a bottle of red, welsh cakes and treats for our dog. There was plenty of information regarding walks in the surrounding area and the coast was easily accessible. Four days wasn't long enough. We'd love to visit again.

  • We had a fantastic stay at Nant Melyn Cottage. It's a beautiful place and Steve has put some lovely touches to it from the welcome basket to the log fire, which was needed after a long wet walk on the Beacon's. We would definitely book again as it's the place where I decided to propose to my partner! Thanks for letting us stay.

  • We had a good time in Nant Melyn, it is a cozy environment, managed with care by Steve and his family. We were made to feel welcome and have enjoyed pleasant time in rural Wales.

  • Steve was very easy to communicate with, and always quick to respond. The cottage was absolutely lovely, and despite the horrendous weather we had a great time relaxing in the house. The wood burner was fantastic. The bedrooms had both been done up very nicely and the bathroom was lovely, with both a relaxing large bath and powerful separate shower. Jean was helpful during our stay and very friendly. We would definitely recommend Nant Melyn, and hope that we will be able to get back for some walking when the weather is better!

Our house has just been renovated and we are offering it for short stays. It is in the little village of Abercrave at the base of the Brecon Beacons and within short driving distance of Swansea and the Gower Peninsula. It has a lounge/diner(pics to add soon), 2 bedrooms, upstairs bathroom/shower. Large enclosed garden and outside toilet and utility. Ideal for walkers and tourists in the beautiful Swansea Valley. The television is set to use for dvd's or to link to internet only
There are some lovely places nearby for walkers or those who just want to rest. Visit Danyrogof caves; CraigyNos Castle, the historic towns of Brecon, Haye on Wye and Abergavenny. There are good restaurants in the village as well as a local post office.

  • Beverley gave us a very warm welcome to the cottage, which was beautifully decorated with Christmas decorations. There were lots of board games to keep us entertained. The cottage is spacious and very good value for money. In particular, the down duvets and pillows were lovely. We enjoyed our stay.

We explored both the Gower and Pembrokeshire Peninsula's on beautiful sunny days - Rhossili, 3 Cliff Bay, Stackpole, St. David's -, the Blaenavon Industrial Landscape - Big Pit National Museum, Ironworks, Heritage Centre -, Black Mountain Dark Sky and Quarries, Dinefwr House and Castle, National Botanical Gardens, St. Fagan's National History Museum... a busy week. Nice house to stay in on a rainy day too!

  • A lovely, clean and well equipped cottage on the edge of the Brecon Beacons, secluded enough for peace and quiet, but still within an hours driving distance to the big cities of Cardiff and Swansea. It had everything we needed for a comfortable, relaxing stay. Beverley is a wonderful host and has thought of everything to give the cottage that modern yet homely feel and it has a wonderful garden. She keeps in touch every step of the way. Very highly recommended. Thank you Beverley. X

  • Great place to stay, very cosy, nice garden and being situated on the A474 it's a good location for Brecon Beacons and the whole of South Wales. The stairs are quite steep but manageable, spacious bathroom upstairs and there's even an outside loo! Great host, lovely welcome pack of goodies made us feel right at home.

  • Thank you for letter the Bailey family stay! House was beautiful and so cosy! Perfect location near by corner shop! House warms up quick with heating, lovely welcome pack when we arrived! We have had a very packed week doing: horse riding in Llangorse, paddling at llandysul, walking at Brechfa forest and the big pit along with the beautiful Tenby and Saundersfoot (my favourite places in Wales) recommend them! Beverly was there if we needed her all I had to do was message her if I had a question and she'd message back straight away! Very clean house! Thank you for letting us stay once again we'll be back!

Over 200 years old apple cottage retains its old world charm while providing modern comfort. great views over the common and towards the black mountain. Large enclosed private garden. Fantastic base to explore the Brecon Beacons, Gower Coast and the West Wales coastline.
Apple cottage is a one bedroom stone cottage next door to my own home. It is fully equipped for a comfortable and stress free experience. The French door of the kitchen lead out to the garden which is of a good size and very well tended and designed. Dog owners can relax in this furnished gardenspace as their pets cannot run off as it is very private and secure.
Gwaun Cae Gurwen is an old mining village set at the foot of the Brecon Beacons. The cottage is outside of the village and is privileged with fantastic views over the common and towards the Black Mountain. There are two 24 hour Tesco either side of the cottage both 4 miles distance. There is a smaller supermarket at the end of the road which is about a 15 minute walk. We have one very good restaurant/bar which is walking distance and the traditional welsh rugby club which welcomes visitors in to watch a game or just have a drink.
  • Very nice and old place. The flat is very good for 3 or max 4 people. You can find there everything what you need for a nice stay!!

  • Loved staying at Apple cottage. A nice quaint little place on a quiet street with stunning views. I especially loved the shower which is better than my own at home. Paula made us feel very welcome on arrival as she left us a nice bottle of wine with a packet of welsh cakes - they went down very well. Would definitely stay again.

My place is close to family-friendly activities, public transport, and nightlife. You’ll love my place because of the views, the location, the ambiance, the outdoors space, and the people. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).
  • Great cabin, great host, close to pubs/shops and walkable to the mountains.

    Ashley2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • I took my 2 teenaged girls away for a 2 night break which, was arranged completely at the last minute! We loved the peace and quiet, took a stroll along by the river where we did some stone skimming and spent an hour in the second hand book shop. We even took a trip to the beach at mumbles. The cabin was lovely and clean, the shower hot and the towels were super soft! There is a fridge, kettle, microwave and toaster in the cabin or you can use the kitchen in the house to make meals/dishwasher etc. The lounge has one of the double beds in but, that was okay for us. All in all a nice break away for us.

    Joanne2017-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • My group of 4 had a wonderful time staying at Simon's log cabin and visiting the surrounding area. Simon was the best kind of host - he instantly made us feel extremely welcome in his home (we could access the lounge and kitchen in his house as well as the log cabin), he cooked up a huge, delicious breakfast and gave us some great tips for where to cycle, run, and go for a drive. The log cabin itself is very modern and clean, and the bed was super comfy. I would highly recommend a visit - you won't be disappointed!

    Ruth2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • The log cabin was in the most beautiful surroundings . It is a stunning part of Great Britain. Well worth a visit.

  • Me and my boy ( aged 10 ) stayed here and loved it a very easy going vibe and a great Base to work from so we could get out on our bikes. Simon could not have made us more welcome, top guy, great place what more can I say

    Dean2017-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed at Simons lovely home and enjoyed the beautiful, picturesque landscape of the Brecon beacons. We had 2 dogs with us who were very well accommodated and got on well with the owners dogs too. Simon was full of local information and couldn't be more helpful, a very enjoyable trip.

    Graham2017-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to stay with lovely hosts. Where very welcoming and accommodating. Cabin has enough space but no kitchen but that was ok as the kitchen in the house was open to use and very big with every utensil. Simon even gave us a cooking lesson when making a curry last night and showed us how to make one from scratch with just a pinch of a few ingredients. Breakfast was a large Range from cereals, yogurt, pastries and a fried breakfast so we ate very well. Would definitely recomend

    Andy2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • We received a good welcome and were shown around our accommodation. Lovely and warm, clean and well equipped. Cabin is in a great location for the west Brecon Beacons National Park area and we enjoyed walking the Carmarthen Fan route. We were surprised to have basic food supplies in the fridge and loved the marmalade homemade by Simon. Speedy communication when needed and offer of local knowledge for walks and activities made this an excellent Airbnb.

  • It's true that you get what you pay for, but this is no bad thing. If you want somewhere cheap, quiet and generally clean to bed down then this is ideal. It's not idea for small children, but I do recommend for a single person or couple.

  • Vivian's cottage is ideal for anyone wanting a quiet break in the Swansea Valley - it is well equipped but the furnishings and decor are somewhat dated and not up to the standard of many other Airbnb accommodations. However for value for money and communication from Vivian and his 'meet and greet' lady Sam 10 out of 10!

    Beverly2017-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Unfortunately the house was not ready for us as expected and we decided to leave after the first night. Apparently there were several misunderstandings between the host who was not in the area and the caretakers who obviously did not understood their role and duties. The host communicated thoroughly with us and we could tell that he is commited to become a good host in the future once the house is ready to receive guests.

    Ignacio2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • A great little place, maybe a little tired devoratively but everything was there and it all worked fine. The central heating was amazing. Piping hot water and in the end we had to open the windows because it got too warm.

Alex was a wonderful host, and the communication was perfect :-) He also fulfilled some personal wishes we had regarding food and had some local insider information for dining! We couldn't have it any better at his house and we're really sad to leave this cozy and always clean house in the hills!

  • This place was perfect for a little getaway. Extremely peaceful, very modern, the owner June was amazing and attended to our every need. The hot tub was incredible and the view topped it off making our experience perfect. The lodge itself is so homely and just a lovely place to be. Will definitely be visiting again soon!

  • A lovely, well appointed, quiet place to stay. The hot tub is an extra treat to this luxurious cabin. We were thrilled to find a bottle of bubbly in the fridge as well as fresh milk and bread. We'd love to come back again.

    Sally2017-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing, we used it as a stepping stone into Swansea and the gower. It's secluded and a perfect wilderness to explore. The views from the caravan and the hot tub can't be rivalled. June as a host was totally awesome. She greeted us with wine on our arrival and made us at home....we were then left completely alone, it was like home, we felt like we owned the accommodation. Thanks a million.

Glanrhyd is a well-equipped ground floor self-contained flat located in the quiet Welsh village of Crynant. We are located just 6 miles from Neath and 15 miles from Swansea and surrounded by forestry. Glanrhyd is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers.
Glanrhyd is a well-equipped flat with its own front and back doors and underfloor heating throughout. As well as a spacious bedroom and bathroom there is a large kitchen dining area. The living room is at the back of the house and includes a conservatory with views out onto the countryside and forestry. Outside the conservatory is a large raised private patio leading to steps down to the lawn and garden. Parking is plentiful on the road in front of the flat.
  • Allen and Rob are very friendly, living next door meant they were on hand to answer any questions. The flat is much bigger than it looks in the photos. Plenty of space, well equipped, very comfortable bed, plenty of hot water and a lovely shower. Although the flat is on a main road, once inside you don't hear any road noise. The beauty of having them live next door and above the flat means no noisy neighbours either. Parking was on the road outside the flat but we never had a problem and always managed to park right outside. Nice patio area with table and chairs.

    Daneen2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • The flat is large and has everything you could need for a great stay. The bed is large and very comfortable. The shower room is great. Underfloor heating is great. If you have a dog its brilliant as all the floors are tiled, so easy to clean muddy prints off. There is a pub just a walk away which serves decent food. We will definitely stay again when we are in the area.

  • Allen is very friendly and he gave us a nice welcome. Everything was super, and the house is big and comfortable. The garden is Lovely. He left a nice guide with all the closer places.

    Simone2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Located on a main road that doesn't have too much passing traffic. Convenient for our visit to the Brecon Beacons. This flat had everything you would need for a self catering holiday. Allen was just next door if we needed anything, which was also convenient at check in/out. Would recommend and stay again!

    Ella2017-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely house. The shower is great and the under floor heating makes the house so cosy. Lots of room. Everything you need: tea, coffee, milk, warm water and a great location to explore from. Allen was great waiting up for our late arrival. Would definitely stay here again if back in the area.

    Denis2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • First time using Airbnb so was a little sceptical. Flat was as pictures if not better. Very comfortable and clean and amazing value for money. Allen was a great host.

  • Great house, location and perfect welcoming hosts. The cottage was clean, comfy and cosy. The beds and bathroom all great. Could not have asked for more. We had a fantastic relaxing stay and will definitely go back.

  • What a great cottage in a very special location. Worked so well for us and our two labradors. Such lovely hosts and a cosy cottage with real character.

    Kath2017-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • The house and grounds are a lovely tranquil place to be. The facilities are excellent and Helen is a super host who went out of her way to help us get the most from our stay. We all used the indoor pool which is large enough for a decent swim. We took our black lab with us and she was looked after by our hosts one evening so we could all go out which was wonderful. The location is great for the Brecon's and also the Gower beaches. Our family of 4 including 2 adult children were very happy with our weeks stay and would not hesitate to return.

    Ian2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous place. Helen and Keiren were super-friendly and helpful. The pool and the Aga were warm and clean, the wood-burner easy to light and very warming even on a January weekend. Can't wait to visit again.

    Ben2017-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a delightful week in this peaceful cottage. You will need a car to take advantage of all the possibilites in the region, but the quiet neighbourhood offers many charming strolls. The owners were very helpful in suggesting activities. The cottage is very comfortable and many an afternoon was lazily spent in the verandah which is oh si cozy with the tiniest speck of sun !

    Olivier2017-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • This little cottage (and it's owners) are amazing! You're in a great position for exploring the Brecons and the Gower. We came for a long weekend and really wished we were staying longer! The cottage is very cosy, with a big wood-burner in the living room and a range in the kitchen. Not only was the cottage a beautiful place, but Helen and Kieran were super friendly and even dog sat for us so we could go and have dinner! Couldn't have asked for more.

  • There's always a nervous 5 minutes before you turn up at an unknown destination on airbnb with fingers crossed it will be as nice as previous reviewers say. Trust me when I say there's no need to worry in this case. The Bake House has that rare combination of feeling luxurious but homely. It is true to the photographs, in fact it is better. The gardens are envy provoking and the view of the pond from the upstairs window made me smile every morning. The owners Kieran and Helen couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful. They are lovely people who go above and beyond to make sure you have a great stay whilst allowing you your privacy. They let us use their lovely indoor pool, attached to the main house and graciously ignored the noise made by my children ;) Without a doubt this has been a 5 star airbnb experience. A relaxing week in a beautiful house with beaches and walks close by and all dog friendly too. We have no hesitation in recommending and would love to come back one day. Thank you very much :)

    Sarah2017-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • This stunning and secluded cottage is even better than it looks in the photos! It's beautifully decorated with lovely homely touches like the working Aga, the woodburning stove in the living room and the conservatory furniture that can be moved outside on to the lawn. The owners Helen & Kerien are very friendly and welcoming and it was a pleasure to meet Boudie and The Don - two of their stunning Neopolitan Mastiff dogs. The swimming pool is a short hop across the lawn from the cottage and is perfect for a few laps or a lazy float around. It was plenty big enough for 4 adults and a nice temperature too. We could use it any time we wanted and were never made to feel like we were intruding which was nice as it is a part of the main house and not the cottage. All in all, we couldn't have had a better stay and will almost certainly be booking to stay there again. Can't recommend this place highly enough!

Very quiet, secluded area. There are takeaways, shops, pharmacies petrol garages and a range of pubs located at the villages of Brynamman and Garnant just a mile or so from the property. Tescos and Lidl supermarkets are located in the towns of Ammanford and Pontardawe.
  • Glyndri was one of the high end airbnb I have been to. The place was lately renovated and everything was brand new, the place was so clean we could literaly eat off the floor. The place is well located so within a few minutes drive you could find places to eat, grocery stores and you could find walking paths from right out the door. with all that, the place was very quit. We had a great time with a family of five.

Christopher was a grrat host always helpful and quick to respond to any queries. We enjoyed moutain biking, walking and visiting national trust places. The gold mines was a great experience. We also visited the beach at Mumbles which is a beautiful part of the world.

  • The photos of the Miners' Cottage on the website don't do it justice - the decor is lovely. We stayed just before Christmas so a few top tips for a winter stay: - Bring slippers. The floors are cold, especially the stone floors in the kitchen and bathroom. - Buy logs and kindling on your way there. The owner, Karen, left enough for our first evening but you'll need logs for the morning too if the weather is cold. - Ask for the heating to be left on. We arrived at 6pm when all the radiators were off and the cottage was very cold. It's well worth walking up the hill behind the cottage and finding your way to the narrow paths through the pine forest. Really lovely paths.

    Corinne2016-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fabulous holiday at the Miner's cottage. The cottage was just what we were looking for. It is really well equipped (particularly in the kitchen) and had everything we needed for the week. Everything was clean and tidy on arrival and we felt absolutely at home from the moment we walked through the front door. We didn't really think we'd need the log burning stove in August but the weather was a lot chillier than we'd hoped and really made the cottage feel very cosy in the evenings.

    Richard2016-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great weekend and cannot rate Karen enough. I have already recommended the cottage to friends, hope they take the suggestion. The pictures don't do the cottage justice!

  • Very nice cottage, comfortably held the four of us, easy check in, Karen left out Welsh cakes (as well as other amenities) which went down a storm with everyone. House was really warm, good wifi, nice fire (with wood left out!)

  • Perfect from start to finish. Everything was ready for us when we arrived (although we arrived a bit early) and even the extra bits and pieces - milk in the fridge, tea and Welsh cakes. The cottage was ideal for us in every way - as a base for walking in the Brecon Beacons.

  • My GPS had slightly led me astray the day before, so I called Simon to see where I was & where I had to go. From the first moment on the call, he had a smile in his voice, and that goes a long way with me. After he talked me to his tree-lined driveway, he met me in the car park with that same smile on his face, and enthusiasm in his voice. His home is in amazing little town, and the views from his breakfast "nook" are second to none. My room was spacious, and had an excellent private ensuite that was very welcome. Simon provided an excellent recommendation for dinner, organised the reservation for me, and directions for the 15min walk. His chosen pub/restaurant was great, mainly for the friendliness of the patrons and staff. When I came back later, he and his wife invited me in to chat with them, and I had a great time. He's very knowledgeable about all the local walks & hikes too, which I greatly appreciated. And what can I say about breakfast other than "you defeated me!". Simon takes a lot of pride in providing a hyper-local (the omelette from his own ducks' eggs was a highlight!) meal, and with the view out of the windows, he's onto a winner! This stay was a real highlight of my UK short trip.

    Ben2015-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Simon made me feel very welcome and at home. A wonderful host. The best full English breakfast I have ever had made from local produce and eggs from the garden chickens!

  • We had a great stay at Simon's house and we thank him a lot for this! Simon gave us good recommendation for walks nearby. He prepared a generous and excellent breakfast with local food! He even booked a table for us at the local pub for one evening. We totally recommend him.

  • Terrific welcome from Emma And Simon who went the extra mile with help to book an evening meal, advice on nearby walks, and good company. The house has great views over to the Black Mountains. Brilliant breakfast.

  • I had a really lovely stay at Simon's while I was visiting the area to see old friends who were themselves over from the US visiting family. It's a very comfortable setting, with nice areas to relax and enjoy the stunning views and a very comfortable bedroom. Simon was incredibly friendly and helpful and also went out of his way to include and welcome my friends even though they were not staying here. I think it's a great spot if you want to get out and do some hill-walking or similar activities. And Simon's breakfast would definitely rank among the best I've ever had!

    Deborah2016-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed at Simon's whilst attend the BMW Off Road Skills course... Simon was an extremely hospitable host! My mate and I got upgraded to the top floor, so we had our own private lounge! Breakfast was an absolute treat and set us up nicely for the day ahead. He was always asking if we needed anything... Even though we came back really muddy it wasn't a problem. I highly recommend Simon's place and do hope to stay there the next time I am in Wales
