Close proximity to Bradys Lake this small cabin is situated in a quiet tranquil shack area. Rustic, comfortable and quaint with amenities without the electronic stuff that clutters our everyday life.
Great spot to have a break, go trout fishing or bushwalking. Guided tours can be arranged on request.
  • We loved our stay at The Humpy! Graham was a lovely host, he met us on site when we arrived and gave us a tour of the place (he's thought of everything!), he also made some great recommendations of things to do/see in the area. We arrived on a snowy evening and Graham had the fire going, we were lovely and warm from the moment we arrived. We loved our stay at the Humpy, highly recommended!

  • This little shack on the lake was absolutely amazing! It was nice and secluded, and really close to the lake so we could go for long walks on the water. Really comfy bed and eco-friendly lodge. Would highly recommend for a quiet getaway!

  • Lovely lake cabin in the centre of Tasmania. Great place to chill, take a walk, fish or just sit back and read a book. Plenty of good music as well. Would have liked to stay longer than one night.

  • Nice, quiet and cosy

    Sarah2018-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • 'The Humpy' is a great place to stay - a well-equipped cabin which is homely and cosy but still with ample space. It is in a relaxing location, only a short walk from the lake-shore. Graham provided a nice range of breakfast supplies and is a welcoming and helpful host who lives nearby if you need any assistance. The 'fishing tour' sounded like a fun option for a future trip. Thanks again for your hospitality, Graham.

  • Graham’s place was an amazing stop on our way to Hobart. Perfectly located, and in a beautiful scenic location, his place is well appointed and extremely nice. Graham was a very warm and welcoming host, and great for local knowledge and a good chat. Don’t forget to try his bush peppercorns in the grinder marked Try Me. They’re delicious!

  • Beautiful spot and great value stay in a location not too far from Lake St Claire and Franklin Gordon National Park. Lovely little simple set up, very relaxed and low key, no phone reception which was actually really great. Didn't get to meet Graham but his communication was kind and thoughtful.

    Ella2018-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Brady's lake is in the 'heart' of Tasmania and we used it as a stopover between Strahan and Hobart - its 20 mins from the famous Wall and is a fisherman's cottage by the shore of Brady's lake. You can pick up some nice huon pine coasters from Graham that are good value too.

  • Magnolia Cottage is a truly beautiful place. Sympathetically restored to reflect the era, and beautifully styled with modern decor. A large comfy lounge, sumptuous soft furnishings and warm beds made this a great place to unwind after hectic days exploring the west coast. Queenstown was a fascinating place to wander around, even better if you take the time to speak with the very friendly local business owners who share wonderful stories and memories of a town that they take great pride in. Our host, Steve, was also very responsive and helpful when we had a query. Highly recommend this lovely property.

  • Beautifully styled historic cottage! Very quiet area, easy drive to town/railway. We wanted to pick up the whole cottage and take it home to live in!

The Roundhouse is located in a place of spectacular beauty, with views of Quamby Bluff and the Great Western Tiers on all sides. The property is surrounded by World Heritage Rainforest which is a result of the protracted Jackeys Marsh Forest Protests. The fresh air, crystal clear water, abundant wildlife and pristine environment are all environmental values prized by the people of Jackeys Marsh. We would now like to share our unique heritage with the rest of the world.
The Roundhouse is a self-contained home set apart from the other buildings on the property. It gives you the privacy and independence to do your own thing. The interior is warm and comfortable with extensive windows to highlight the amazing views of the mountain valley of Jackeys Marsh. The Roundhouse is full of architectural features. From the handmade stonewall basement, through the curved wooden features of the main floor, to the onion top cupola that caps off the building. It is a truly unique property that continues to create special memories for all who visit. "People respond to the shapes that I make. They enjoy the playfulness and freedom of line, and see the resemblance of natural forms in the designs. They appreciate the skill required to make such shapes from straight timber, following Nature's design rules." Kim Clark - Curved Wood Creations ( search this name to see website.)
Jackeys Marsh has a small community of approximately 80 people scattered throughout the valley. Most of the valley is heavily forested with small farms occupying the clearings. Because Jackeys Marsh is off the state energy grid, it attracts those who seek an alternative and more independent lifestyle.
  • The roundhouse is the best house I had ever stayed in my journey. It's hidden in a conservative forest but not remote from the highway. Standing in the house, you will feel exactly what the word " artist spirt" means. It's well equipped inside and perfect shaped outside. Kim was really helpful. I left a message to him asked the sources for cooking before we arrived, and Kim prepared all of them to us when we open the door! Kim also showed us the main house and the newest one he has been working. The chickens and old dog Lucky were so lovely and loyal to Kim. I will definitely be back in the future!

    Li2017-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • The Round House is a truly magical and inspiring place, with all the comforts you need for the perfect getaway. Kim was a great host and also prepared the beautifully rejuvenating onsen for us. Thank you for a memorable stay Kim!

    Christina2018-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • A home among the trees. An amazing and restorative experience. Surrounded by varying vegetation, the location is by a rainforest. Much to be discovered. A place built with loving and artful hands. Looking forward to my return.

    Louie2018-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • A truly unique property in a gorgeous setting. Great if you’re looking for a few days retreat into nature, it’s a little out of the way but absolutely worth it. You definitely need access to a car - transport options in the area are extremely limited. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

    Melissa2017-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • The roundhouse is an amazing place to stay. Impressive views from a selfcreated house in the middle of the bush. Kim was very easy going and welcoming, great host! The woods surounding the house feel like the forest out of a fairytale, you can experience this through a selfmade walk from the nutgarden to the spring. Enjoy exploring nature from your doorstep!

    Helma2017-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This has to be one of the best Airbnb's in Tasmania. An incredible quiet mountain escape with amazing views. Kim was a friendly and considerate host and the house was above and beyond our expectations.

    Brock2018-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • It's a really fantastic place . The design of the property is special and wonderful! And Kim is friendly!

    Chris2016-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Kim was an excellent host who really strives for the best for the host and does absolutely the best he could to make you feel comfortable! The house may have a bit bugs on the outside but that shouldn't be a worry at all as its after all in the mountain. But definitely give it a shot, especially who lives in urban areas as its hard to have somewhere that has hammock indoor with the stars.

Hand made from native timber, our shack is a cosy fisherman's retreat fitted out with all the necessities and extra luxuries like WiFi and Netflix. The shack has 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms: 2 x queen, 1 x double. The kitchen is well equipped and well stocked with the pantry basics to cook up a feast.
Our Central Highlands shack at Miena is a quality solid timber build by a local builder. It sits at the top of the block with glimpses of the Great Lake. The drive to Miena is about 1:30hr from Launceston and about 1:45hr from Hobart. It's perfectly located for trout fishing or just to sit back with the cosy fire and hopefully catch a glimpse at the local deer and wallabies grazing around the shack. Enjoy fishing at the many lakes during the day and wander down to the Central Highlands Lodge for an evening drink or dinner. If you enjoy cooking as much we we do, you will find the kitchen very well equipped. We offer 3 bedrooms: 2 with queen beds and 1 with a double bed, all with electric blankets, high thread count sheets and 100% goose down quilts. There are two bathrooms, one of which is an ensuite. We have a single floor mattress that can go in the double room. The shack has ample parking for at least 6 vehicles as well as a boat turning bay. Miena is a quiet and remote town that primarily attracts trout fishing enthusiasts. The shack is in a quiet street away from the highway. Late check out is usually available by request at no extra cost in the off peak seasons, depending on when our next booking is. The coffee machine is an Aldi coffee machine and is compatible with Aldi espressi pods. We have been told that the following are also compatible: Woolworths/Caffitaly Gloria Jeans MAP Lavazza Blue
The shack is on a small residential block and neighboured by other shacks. Miena is a small fishing town and has a general store with a petrol pump and payphone, The Great Lake Hotel and The Central Highlands Lodge, both of which provide dinner and drinks. The Lodge is within walking distance but you'll need to drive to the pub. Grocery shopping must be done prior to driving up to the Central Highlands.
  • A lovely place to stay in the Central Highlands. Good location (especially if you are fishing). The house is lovely and accommodated our family well. The fire was excellent and the BBQ got a strong work-out. We had a few changes along the way and Tom was very accommodating. The pantry was well stocked with condiments and basics, which was a bonus!

    Angus2017-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • Tom's cabin really exceeded my expectations. When we arrived, Helen had a fire going for us, such a nice way to start! The cabin itself is really beautiful with everything you could possibly need and all really great quality. The furnishings and finishing touches made the place really cosy. My only regret is that we only stayed one night - I would happily book for a week and curl up in front of that fire with a stack of books and some hot chocolate for a lot longer.

    Rachelle2016-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is so spotless and cosy! The food storage is fantastic, you can find any sauces and seasonings you want for cooking yourself a nice meal! Tom gave us lots of information before and after we arrived, that made our stay a lot easier! wish we could stay longer!

    Feng2016-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding place, has everything needed to enjoy a perfect stay! Great Host!

    Peter2018-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • We booked very late in the afternoon and the cleaner did not have time to finish cleaning the house. Tom was very honest and clear with his communication and wanted us to know the truth before proceeding. However when we arrived the place was completely spotless and beautiful. The view down to the lake was peaceful with lots of wildlife to see. The kitchen was incredibly well stocked with equipment / condiments / spices etc. a lovely place to stay - highly recommended.

    Matthew2016-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect winter escape. We were a family of four and stayed in comfort and warmth. We saw snow, deer, wombats and wallaby. This accommodation is very high quality for this area and every small detail has been thought of. Thank you Tom for a great snowy weekend away.

    Leanne2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely, well appointed cabin for the traveler interested in trout fishing. It is about 1 hour away from Lake St. Clair National Park. The property is teeming with wildlife, but the community has almost nothing to offer in terms of traveler services or resources. If you are looking for a "get unplugged" experience, it's a nice place to stay. Be sure to bring all your own food. The kitchen is well- equipped and many condiments, spices, etc., are provided. Tom was an outstanding communicator. Good directions and prompt to respond to questions.

    Ann2017-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second visit to Tom's place, both have been in winter time. We had an enchanting evening with snow falling as we arrived and throughout the night. Wallabies, deer and possums walking through the snow and dropping by throughout the night and morning. Fabulous roaring fire to keep you toasty and warm, great pantry and facilities. We were the first people up in the morning, to walk on the freshly fallen snow, seeing animal footprints, taking great pics and enjoying the crisp morning walk. Couldn't ask for a better birthday present. Thanks for the hospitality once again Tom.

The drive into Queenstown is extremely impressive, and the town itself is a picturesque and isolated gem with all the local amenities we needed. (Thanks for the recommendation for dinner, Irene!) • Kylie and Jason's cabin was in an amazing pristine location high in the Great Lake wilderness. We definitely didn't rough it. The cabin was chock full of comfortable amenities, with a cosy warm wood stove that adequately heated the entire building. The kitchen was modern and a dream for us to cook in. The bathroom was very attractively tiled in stone that matched the rugged environment with a wonderful shower and warm overhead lights. Our Queen size bed had a wonderfully comfortable matress. So we had restful nights. We went for a bush walk along rocky snow swept trails and around the edge of the beautiful lake. It felt like we were a million miles from the rush and bustle of the city. The whole experience was fantastic.

    Bruce2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning location and great accommodation. Loved the snow

    Steve2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Kylie and Jason's home is a perfect retreat from our fast paced modern life. The poor Telstra reception made it perfect as we were able to not be disturbed from enjoying the beautiful surroundings. The fire place was a favorite in the evenings. The snow greeted us on our first day and made it perfect. The place had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We loved that the place was solar powered and on tank water. We would definitely want to come back. Ines, Teddy and Adeline

    Ines2017-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing modern open plan house with everything you will need for whatever purpose you are staying. Full kitchen facilities, numerous entertainment options provided for adults and kids, fantastic bathroom and shower, great location right on the lake and close to local walks and attractions with wildlife all around. Kylie and Jason communicated everything we needed to know and there were no problems whatsoever, great hosts! So much more than just a house or a place to stay, it was full of welcome surprises that I encourage you to discover for yourself! I highly recommend this accommodation and if/when we return we will definitely be booking here again!

    David2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved this place. It was perfectly set up for us with a 2 year old but would cater for most small groups. Such a smart design with interesting features. We are really keen to come back and spend more time there. Couldn't fault the accommodation or communication. Great experience.

    Will2018-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic place to stay. The cabin was perfect for our family of four. Everything is modern and the fireplace is great for the cold weather.

    Mathew2017-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time, it snowed the first night we were there, the property is set in the alpine wilderness but still close enough to warrant a day trip to all the local attractions and return in time to get the fire place started and watch the snow fall with a glass of wine.

    Richard2017-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • This little cottage, set in very scenic countryside, is full of antiques and tastefully decorated to bring us in time. We greatly appreciated that the owners had come earlier to light the woodfire so that we were greeted by a warm house. Equipped with everything we needed, and more. We had a most peaceful night's rest!

    Servane2016-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Staying in this wonderful cottage was the perfect choice for Christmas. The gardens were breathtaking and the house perfectly positioned for relaxation. The house itself was just lovely, just enough old fashioned mixed with the right amount of modern. I will recommend Westeria Cottage to others. The hosts were easily contacted and very accomodating, nothing was too much trouble. Overall, this accommodation made my Christmas just that little bit more special.

A quiet, warm and friendly home just a short 10 minute walk to the centre of Queenstown. Off street parking makes unpacking a breeze and it is only 2 minutes to the Main Street, 30 minutes to Zeehan and 40 minutes to Strahan. You will have your own private bedroom and a sitting room for relaxing.

A heater is provided to give you a even more warmth if required. Towels and complimentary soaps are supplied ready for you to freshen up.
  • Donna's place in Queenstown is lovely, sparkling clean and comfy. She was a perfect host and had good tips about what to see around town. Donna's room has a lovely heater and the bed is warm and comfortable. If you are looking for a good accommodation in Queenstown this is a great one. Around Queenstown I recommend horsetail track just outside the city and the city lookout.

'Intrigue Cottage' is situated at Dalebrook Lodge which is a working horse property specializing in training show horses. Dalebrook Lodge is at Western Creek, Tasmania which is 25 kilometres west of Deloraine and sits under the majestic Western Tiers. Some of the best bush walks in Tasmania commence from just above Dalebrook Lodge. Close to the Mole Creek Caves, Liffey Falls, Chudleigh Honey Farm, Ashgrove Cheese, Anvers Chocolates, The Great Lakes, Sheffield Town of Murals and Cradle Mountain
The fresh air and quiet are just amazing and in winter on a still clear night the stars are something to see. You also might like to enjoy a glass of wine or coffee in the gardens or beside the Dalebrook which is a clear mountain stream.
  • We had the best hideaway trip in the cottage. The location is not far from the airport , the cottage is very well furnished, clean and warm. We loved how we had our privacy and cooked our meals in the small kitchen. The cottage is not far from the city or the other tourist areas.

  • This is a gorgeous spot. So quiet and rural. Beautiful cabin tastefully and thoughtfully appointed. And a friendly pet or two. Was great to wake up to a horse frolicking outside the window.

  • Peter and Yvonne have a real gem of a property tucked away in Tassie. You would struggle to find a place to stay that is more immersed in rural Tasmanian life. We found the stay to be a refreshing ending to our travels around the lower state. Though we stayed on their property with a working stable, we never felt that we were intruding on their day to day. The lodge is far enough away to feel a part of the happenings but not so close that you can't block it out and enjoy the peace. Great stay and great hosts

  • Relaxing premises. Amenities are great. The view is stunning, specially at dawn. I also enjoyed watching the active Tasmanian wildlife, I watched a wallaby bound along the garden at dusk. Sharon was very responsive and understanding when I had to make a change to reservation. Thanks for the little treats.

  • Cadillac Ranch is more a home than an airbnb! Bright, stylish, perfectly equipped. The surroundings and views are amazing and we loved the total privacy. Sharon was great with cmunication. One of the best airbnb places we've stayed. Good on ya, Sharon, and thank you.

  • A beautiful secluded country-style farm house, in a very quiet and scenic valley, in a pretty garden and property. And surprisingly good 4G phone/internet in the area! Great location from which to enjoy the Mt Field national park area, or day trip to Lake Gordon and Lake Pedder.

    Helen2018-04-29T00:00:00Z

  • Tom and Sharon's place is amazing! If you're looking to get away for a nice relaxing time - this is the place. The serenity here is amazing and just to soak in the landscapes and wildlife around you. Close proximity to waterfalls and many walking tracks (Mt Field National Park). There's a lot to offer here. Tom and Sharon have a box of food offered for purchase at the house incase you run low on foods. The heaters were turned on for us making the house toasty on arrival. If you are into astrophotography, this place is a perfect setup for it. We had an amazing time photography the dark skies and bright stars/planets. Highly recommend this place and will be back hopefully sooner than later!!

Places to eat include Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm Restaurant, Deloraine Deli, Empire Hotel Deloraine
  • The house is always full of novelty, Tasmanian wildlife, the comfort of its facilities, and the next time we stay here

  • A wonderful oasis of calm - this charming house really is in the middle of nowhere! Solar power and a lovely log fire give the opportunity to switch off and unwind. Host Kim was very friendly, meeting us on arrival, and a wonderful fount of local knowledge (and also the creator of the beautiful feature window in the bathroom!). We loved the board games, CD player/radio, and the piano, guitar and gamelan instruments which were a great bonus. Some great walking locally. Plus nightly visits from the local wallabies to the backdoor (they love eating carrots). Take all your provisions with you - the nearest shop is a long drive down a long, unmade road. No oven, grill or microwave but we were able to cook toast and more in a dish on top of the woodburner stove, plus the 5 burner gas hob. Plenty of utensils, crockery, pots and pans, plus store cupboard basics. A wonderful place to get away from it all.

    Susie2018-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying in Kim’s crafted abode; Warner’s Gate. The handmade building and furniture were so interesting and inspiring. The rustic atmosphere was enhanced by the surrounding bush and mountains. The place is true to the photos. We needed Kim’s assistance a few times with a tap and bed issue and he came straight away to rectify it all. The bath was a much needed joy after a day of hiking (Warner’s Track starts a short walk up the road). The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals. The kids loved the board games and the tree house. My favourite spot was reading in the patchwork chair upstairs. Thanks Kim, we’d love to stay again.

  • A really great place to completely get off the grid and escape the world for a while. Its buried deep in a valley, up some dirt tracks and right up against a bluff. The house has some lovely finishing touches like a fireplace, a day bed in the sun, and a bath you won't want to get out of. When the sun goes down you can wait for the friendliest and fluffiest Tasmanians to come say hello and eat their dinner right outside your front door. A great place to see some wild Tasmanian country. Kim and Julie are wonderful and responsive hosts. Thanks for a wonderful stay :)

This spacious upstairs flat, in an old bank building dating from 1898, sits in the heart of Queenstown, seconds from two supermarkets and the post office. The flat has three large bedrooms and easily accommodates families or groups. Unwind in front of the lounge room's wood heater, or cook up a storm in the large kitchen with beautiful views over the town and hills beyond. It's located above the artist residency/gallery. Entrance is from the side gate and then up the back external stairs.

  • This place was divine. Gorgeous light, beautiful windows, spacious, stocked kitchen and a great record collection. Walk around town, hike and great base for the western railway ride. After a long day hike, curl up with great music and a cozy fire and relax. The space is cavernous and so in keeping with the gallery downstairs. Not too precious and families are welcomed. Mark gave the most detailed instructions for everything so you are in good hands. Great for weekend getaways( couples ) or someone needing a creative space to unwind and recharge . Highly recommended, best part of Queenstown!!!

  • We loved our stay at Q Bank. Very central location and everything we needed for our family of five. The decor is fantastic and there is a well stocked kitchen. There is a huge amount of space and it is a great place to relax. There were tonnes of books to read and more board games than you can poke a stick at! Thanks for having us.

    Andrew2017-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • It was a lovely stay at Q Bank's place with the amenities provided. The house had an artistic feel and the rooms were all very cosy. Every bed had an electric blanket which helped alot during the night. There was unfortunately limited hot water so some of us had to shower in cold water. There were also the house guide that really described how to use the amenities which were very useful as well. Overall, it was a rather pleasant stay albeit it was a little secluded.

Tarraleah is a picturesque piece of living history, located in the Tasmanian Central Highlands. A pleasant surprise off the highway that offers the perfect opportunity to get away from the ‘day to day’ and relax. Once a working town for Hydroelectric pioneers, Tarraleah has been refurbished and renovated to provide you with the perfect hideout or base for your next West Tasmanian adventure. Tarraleah is no longer an active town….. so alas, no grocery store, post office or even public toilets. Perfect for independent travellers, we offer self-contained accommodation with all the comforts of home. Our Cottages are beautifully styled in 1930s décor and our cabins are incredibly comfortable and functional. While Tarraleah boasts up to 20 Residents in the Summer time, our winter population drops to a total of 3 people, with a few day time additions, and some very friendly (and always hungry) ducks, geese and hairy Highland cows. So please come and hang out in our town, or base yourself here while visiting the Wall, Lake St Claire or for your next Fly-fishing adventure. Tours can be booked in advance, but no prior arrangement is needed to visit the 9 hole golf course, explore one of the walks, make it to the waterfall, visit the Hydro Lookout or learn about the people behind the history of Tarraleah from the permanent Hydro Exhibit. Spacious and well maintained gardens are home for the local wallaby’s wombats and possums, and remember to keep an eye for eagles, superb fairy wrens and even lyre birds.
  • Really great house, stylish and well appointed, way bigger and better than we had hoped for, sparkling clean and amazingly warm considering the cold weather. loved this place, wish we had many more days here, the bush and animals on the property were fantastic too.

  • Wow, what a hidden gem!! Amazing home in a great location. The drive across to coast can be long and winding without stop but Tarraleah is positioned to make the trip a great two day event. The house was spotless, a real 1930s beauty that has been beautifully renovated. The photos do not do the house justice. When we arrived the lights and heaters were on and the fire was set. The town has great history and the beautiful bush setting is fantastic. Full kitchen made making dinner easy. We would happily return

  • Wow! Where do I start? Some friends and I stayed at Bodhi and Martin's for the weekend for my 30th birthday. It was so much more than I could've hoped for. Bodhi and Martin are both generous and wonderfully open people. The property truly is a little oasis and the forest on the property is breath-taking (although next time I'd probably venture in with someone with a slightly better sense of direction than me!) I can not recommend this property enough!

    Imogen2015-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Bodhi and Martin were excellent! They both made us feel so welcome in their beautiful house - it was a real home away from home! Everything was perfect from Bodhi's cooking to the walk we took around their garden to see the cows and the forest - to name only 2 things. Location was good - fairly central to all the areas that we wanted to see - we only wish we had booked to stay for our first 2 nights as well! Thank you again from all of us both for being so kind, making us feel so welcome and chatting to us for most of the night!

    Laura2016-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Bodhi and Martin were incredibly warm, generous and thoughtful hosts. They made us feel right at home in their beautiful space. The sleeping rooms are very clean and comfortable and the living room is warm and inviting. The dojo is a magnificent space, which we used to practice yoga and acroyoga in. After a wonderful day of playing, with a short walk through the fern-filled ancient forest on their property, Martin fired up the wood fired sauna, which was an absolute treat. I highly recommend Tenchi Farm, we can't wait to come back!

    Scott2015-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Bodhi's house was amazing, from there you can feel the beauty of nature completely. She and Martin was far beyond friendly and have given a such good care to us. Highly recommended for future gusts.

    Xi2016-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Bodhi and Martin are excellent hosts and rose above expectation. On our first night, Bodhi cooked us a lovely dinner and Martin took us on a tranquil walk through the farm and forest on the property. They also kindly offered us to use their sauna and doujo. Their house is cozy and warm with a fireplace running. I particularly enjoyed the fact that I was never cold. If you're looking for a peaceful stay close to nature, would highly recommend!

    Rachel2017-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • A relaxing and meaningful experience staying at Bodhi and Martin's place. What was most special for us was the quality time spent learning more about their unique culture and work done at tenchi farm. We also enjoyed our wood fired sauna experience. Bodhi was also a very good cook! We had dinner and she cooked up a delicious meal from their own farm produce. Bodhi and Martin were also very hospitable in ensuring that our stay was made comfortable by reparing a spoilt door latch. We miss the laughter and warmth shared with Martin talking almost about everything. As mentioned a couple of times, we really wanted to extend our trip to two days if we could. Definitely a place to recommend to others!

    John2015-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time with Bodhi and Martin in Tasmania! They suggested us very beautiful places to see and nice walks into the bushes and forest. They live in a wonderful place, very peaceful and comfortable with everything you need to relax and have a nice time. They are very friendly and polite and we spent great time together dining and we could also try the beautiful relaxing sauna. We recommend them to anyone who is planning a trip to Tasmania.

    Paolo2015-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • The farm was an amazing getaway to rest and recuperate. A beautiful home even nicer than the photos, surrounded by great Tassie forest and farmland. Bodhi and Martin were fantastic hosts - very communicative and great fun to be around. They had all the time in the world to chat and point out local gems to visit. In fact, they encouraged us to skip Cradle Mountain as we were dead tired, and instead showed us some local places to visit in Meander and Deloraine. So worthwhile and a much more enjoyable stay because of it!!

  • The B&B not only met our expectations but exceeded them. The house was clean, spacious, comfortable and above all quiet. The neighbourhood was also quiet and pleasant. We were four retirees and found the walk to the Imperial Hotel very easy where we enjoyed a very good evening meal. Great place to stay.

  • Jo's place is certainly a cosy hideout in a hidden gem of Tassie, Queenstown. We were a family of 7 and felt really at home in Jo's place. It was raining when we arrived and we were glad there were clear instructions on how to light up the fireplace (esp important for guests like us who come from tropical climate) which kept us warm throughout the night. Bedrooms were spacious and the toilets were clean as well. Absolutely loving the built in radio in the showers! :D Overall, THUMBS UP! Do consider Jo's place if you want to explore around Queenstown. In my opinion, it is a beautiful and quaint town where you can get scenic views and live like a local!

Waratah Cottage is part of a small fully accredited accommodation business that has been continually developed over 10 years. It is close to the town centre, cafe's, hotels and supermarkets, RoamWild Tasmania tour company, The Paragon Theatre and West Coast Wilderness Railway. It is fully renovated, quiet, very well appointed, warm, cosy, comfortable, stylish and you are free to forage in the kitchen garden. Great for couples, singles, business travellers, and families (with kids) Fully insured.
As a seasoned traveller I have tried to provide everything you could need. The most common comment I receive from guests is "you've thought of everything". Comfort, style, cleanliness, convenience and good service were my main objectives in developing this property.
Queenstown has a unique and fascinating history and I highly recommend booking a tour with RoamWild Tasmania to hear all about it. The town is famous for its bare hills which were a result of past mining practices however the vegetation is rapidly taking over and the mountain scenery is breathtaking. Well worth spending a few days to explore Queenstown, Strahan, Zeehan, Rosebery and Tullah. All within 45mins drive.
  • Joy is one of the most hospitable and thoughtful hosts you will ever meet! Her property is very clean and well stocked with supplies and I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking out for a place!

  • Great stay ik you want to travel to Queenstown. It has a a nice and big bathroom. You can cook on a electric pan, in the oven or microwave, but there is not a stove. There is everything you need to make yourself a breakfast. The wifi doesn't work in the house, but Joy was very clear about that in her communication.

    Marina2017-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Quick easy check in and fairly clean and comfortable stay. No dining table/chairs which can make meal prep and eating in a bit difficult. Would stay again if ever in the area in future.

  • Joy' s place had all the comfortable amenities and walking distance to the main areas of Queenstown. The highlight for us was experiencing the newly revamped Paragon Theatre that Joy has newly bought which is just across the road. It is art deco with wonderful features plus some iconic old classical movies running constantly . Joy also offers a beautiful dinner which completes a memorable evening. Recommend to other guests!

    Glenys2018-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Joy's accomodation has everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay, as well as being located right in town, close to pubs, shops and the wonderful Wilderness railway (which is why we were in Queenstown). Joy could not do enough for us and was on hand to welcome us and make sure we had all we needed. In fact, we found Queenstown to be very friendly and had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. We would highly recommend Joy's accomodation and will be back to explore the area more.

Dining options are limited or drive to Strahan 45 mins away. We enjoyed our Queenstown stay and would recommend Tony's place.

  • Its a Dump! Do not stay there. The air in the rooms is stale, and smelt foul and is not good for your health. The shower and the toilet are in what amount to no more than a closet. Like they were installed as an after thought! The washbasin is next to the bed.

  • Loved your property which offered a unique experience. The house was very warm and welcoming, perfect for winter. The breakfast was great. Connie and Michael were lovely and accommodating, with great local knowledge. Would recommend to anyone wanting a unique experience.

  • This farm was absolutley the best part of our trip. I regret only spending 2 nights here, i could have stayed a lot longer. Connie and Michael are fantastic hosts. If they offer to drive you on a little tour if the farm 110% do it! Such a great experience you wouldnt get anywhere else. Had a lovely bonfire and toasted marshmallows to settle in at night then woke up with a coffee and had the deer came right up close to our front door to greet us in the morning. I haven't left Tassi yet but i already want to book in my next trip to come and stay here again for longer. Definately recommend. :)

    Jacqui2018-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • Although it was only for a brief overnight stay, my friends and I also had a very unforgettable overnight farm stay. Connie was very friendly and warm. The house was warm and clean. There was also watermelon, eggs, bread and venison in the fridge for free. ! Super like the house, have the opportunity to come again to stay again! Thanks, dear Connie

    晓艳2018-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic stay at Connie’s place - the setting of the farm is beautiful and all the little details in the cottage had been considered. Connie’s husband very kindly gave us a great tour around the farm too. Would highly recommend

  • We had a great one night stay and everything was perfect! Connie has put so many thoughtful touches into the cottage which really has everything you need. It was really cool to walk around with the deer and see the stars so clearly at night. Highly recommend.

  • Carol and Geoffrey are the best hosts, place was clean, beautifully presented with many personal touches that makes it feel like we had come home. The spa was great, particularly on a cold windy night! Our wood for the wood heater was even stocked up for us. Highly recommend Carol and Geoffrey.

    Linda2018-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Carol's cottage is gorgeous! Can't quite describe how cute and comfortable it is. Our family had a wonderful stay. Our 2 little kids loved the cats and dog at Carol's lodge, and we all loved the spa and the wood fireplace. Carol left us a nice breakfast of granola, juice, fruit, jams and breads. The surrounding area is beautiful, and we spent our days doing a lot of little hikes in the area, and visiting the nearby towns. Would highly recommend, and would love to be back sometime.

    Natalie2018-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful surrounds, fabulous amenities and the little things (like soaps, hot chocolate and homemade bread) made this stay relaxing and memorable. Ticked all the boxes for a cosy winter getaway (including the outdoor hot tub). Highly recommended!!

  • This place was great. We weren't expecting too much, but we're quite surprised at the neatness of the inside. The 12 ft ceilings added character. The gas heater in the large lounge room warmed up the whole house- which was awesome. The electric blankets were great too. The house had all the basic necessities, except a washing machine/dryer. It's opposite a cabin/trailer park (which I think Ruth owns?). So we didn't actually meet Ruth, but that didn't affect our stay at all. The area was very quite and was surrounded by beautiful scenery. We arrived about 8pm and picked up the keys at the key box in the trailer park (opposite). No hassles at all. Would recommend this place for those interested in visiting Queenstown or Strahan. Thanks again. Ruth.

Light-filled house in the heart of Mole Creek, the pub 2 doors up and paddocks across the street, lovely gardens and a creek running near the back door with platypus; 1.5 hours drive to Cradle Mountain, and 20 minute drive to walks in the Western Tiers. IMPORTANT: heating in the colder months (April to October) is by slow-combustion wood fire, which is your responsibility to tend—please see 'Other things to note' in 'Read more about the space' BEFORE you book.
The house, called the Blue House by locals, was built in 1880 and known originally as Rose Cottage. For some time, up to the 1970s, it housed the Mole Creek butcher shop. The large white shed next door was the original hall, for community dances in the early days, later a billiards hall.
Mole Creek is a shadow of the thriving town it was in the days of serious logging, but at least that makes it quiet. There's a small supermarket, a pub and two cafes, one with tourist info and an online centre. Only last year did the town water supply go 'mainstream' — before that we had to boil before use. Also last year we finally got a phone tower, giving reliable connection for mobiles for the first time. The swimming pool is run by the locals, you get the key from the supermarket (if it's not open already) and make a donation once you are inside. The house sits opposite the old railway station, decommissioned in the 1980s. Now the station is run as an op shop, on Wednesdays only.
  • Lovely setting and spacious rooms make this great accommodation for a group travelling together or a get-together.

  • A lovely home set amongst a beautiful garden.

    Linda2018-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Janet was a wonderful host and her place was very clean and accommodating. The rooms were large and the kitchen well appointed for meals. The rear deck was a particular favourite in the afternoon sun ( or anytime of the day if your staying longer. We were lucky enough to witness a resident platypus from the deck ). Janet did that bit extra to make us comfortable and to make our brief stay more memorable. Mole Creek itself was an interesting place and we wished we'd had more time to do some walks in the district. Highly recommended as a stay.

    Tony2018-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is a gem! We would definitely recommend staying there. The host is super nice and lovely. We enjoyed every minute of our stay there. What a place! It is very clean and stylish.

    Ariadna2018-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Janet's house had quaint stylish charm, was cosy, very clean and perfect for relaxing- a great large sunny deck, a great bath and a lovely garden which the creek ran through. Janet was helpful to offer local knowledge of the area, including a great swimming spot nearby. Being right in town it was easy to stroll to the pub for dinner, which had a great beer garden under trees. Highly recommended the place. Thanks again Janet.

    Saya2018-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Janet is a thoughtful host that makes you feel at home. The Blue house has a history that Janet explains well. The house has a lovely atmosphere, and the views are wonderful. Bed is comfortable and warm. Janet gave us veggies out of her garden, nice and fresh. Thanks Janet, we will be back Yvonne and Curt

  • Janet was a lovely host who really made us feel welcome. Location is great for attractions and Janet's gardens and outdoor areas are a joy in theirselves! Wifi was great which came as a surprise in somewhere so rural! Janet is very honest in her description of the house and for me personally the road was a little noisy coming from a quiet street, however Janet made us completely aware and had lovely homely touches which made the stay totally worthwhile (delicious jam :))

  • If you want somewhere secluded and peaceful this is the place to be. Easy to find and get to with a hatchback. I recommend taking extra snacks for the road trip otherwise there is a local IGA grocers in town about 10 mins away. Pity of the rain otherwise it would of been beautiful for a morning walk to explore the beautiful farm land. Mary Lou was great with emailing as theres not much reception in rural tas.

  • What a wonderful piece of the world! Just as described, peaceful, secluded - a well equipped, comfortable private escape from the everyday rush. No mobile range left time for candlelight dinners, music and napping with views of lash greeny, rolling hills and farm life. Even with the rainy weather we just loved our visit and will be back in summer to take full advantage of the tennis court, swimming pool and hiking opportunities. Highly recommended.

  • The property was simply stunning, well stoked fire and very warm for the winter. Highly recommend staying as the property is massive and beautiful. Also if Mary Lou offers to cook you dinner you must take her up on the offer! Such great hosts with a very comfortable pool house Accomodation in the middle of tassie. A must stay!

  • *** OUTSTANDING!!!*** Words, photo's and video's will not do Mary Lou and Scotty's home justice. It is paradise on earth. As you round the corner leading down their driveway the rapids and river run to the right and vibrant green grass speckled with sheep to the left instantly relaxes you. The Pool House is stunning; It is Hampton style and very indulgent and well - equipped, the gardens are immaculate and to the left of the pool is the tennis court. What a place!! Do yourself a favor and experience it for yourself! Jacqueline and Marcus

  • Really enjoyed our two night stay. Room was very large and well appointed.. Guest house felt very warm and welcoming, with a nice atmosphere and with both a movie room and a guest lounge as common areas. The restaurant was closed during our visit. The hosts were kind and welcoming. Mole Creek is a very small town, very remote and quiet - we dined in the next town over - and is about 90 minutes to the Cradle Mountain visitor center

Located only 50 meters from the waters edge of Little Pine Lagoon Little Pine Shack is the best and most comfortable accomodation in the area. The view through the panoramic north facing window of the living room allow for uninterrupted views of the lagoon. Watch the ever changing weather patterns, the fish rising, the birdlife and if you are very lucky a platypus quietly simming by. There is no better place to rejuvenate and invigorate your spirit and energy. If you are not into fly fishing - learn - or alternatively use the Shack as you base to explore the highlands. Visit Liffey Falls, Lake St Clair, Deloraine and many other wonderful places. For photos search on line. (Website hidden by Airbnb) Minimum 2 nights for 2. $50 for each extra person

  • We had a wonderful stay over Christmas. Little Pine Shack is a great spot for fishing, or just for a relaxing holiday. Nicholas was extremely kind and thoughtful; and communicated with us by email and phone to ensure we had the best possible time at Little Pine Shack. The accommodation is very comfortable, with good furnishings, modern bathroom & kitchen and surround sound speakers for music. The location took us around 90 minutes to reach from Launceston. We also visited Hobart, which took less than two hours - making day trips achievable. I'd recommend this place to anyone - it is the most peaceful holiday I have had in a long time.

  • We stayed here for 2 nights whilst on our honeymoon. I was looking for somewhere a bit more secluded, and we definitely found that!!!! Location was freezing cold but there's a fire that heats up the whole house well and plenty of fire wood. Peaceful location with beautiful views overlooking the lagoon. Cheers!

    Jessica2016-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • We spent two nights here for the Christmas holiday. It was relaxing but not much to do other than fishing. We enjoyed the binoculars. The house gets very hot and the screens are not great for keeping the bugs out.

There is a manual too. The trip to his place is beautiful, the van is relatively new & we hope you take care of it as we would love to take it again. A warm welcome awaits you with his wee dog.

It was a pleasure to deal with Greg, he truly loves meeting new people and has great sense of humble hospitality! Thank you Greg and your awesome motorhome for the good times in the land of the purest air! Maria & Matias

  • I would certainly recommend using the motor home to any traveller looking to spend an extended stay. The motor home has all you could need. Easy to drive and once you know the equipment, easy to use! Still a big vehicle so dont take it to hard to reach destinations unless you are an experienced driver.

Tea Tree Bungalow is part of a small fully accredited accommodation business that has been continually developed over 10 years. Close to the town centre, cafe's, hotels and supermarkets, RoamWild Tasmania tour company, The Paragon Theatre and West Coast Wilderness Railway.
  • Awesome!

  • Comfortable little cottage in the heart of Queenstown. We used it as a base to explore Strahan and around. Far less touristy than Strahan and has a lovely unspoilt town centre. We enjoyed wandering down to the Empire Hotel for a pub meal and the boat trip from Strahan. And Joy's place is well equipped for cooking in too. We appreciated the generous breakfast provisions (eggs, bread, juice, milk etc) and luxury towels. And good heating and electric blankets. Next time we'll stay longer so we can do more walks in the area.

  • Joy meet us on arrival which was appreciated. The Bungalow was roomy, comfortable and plenty of provisions for breakfast.

  • A lovely cottage with everything we needed for an overnight stay in Queenstown. Clean, tidy and right on the main road although still very quiet. Would certainly stay here again if we came back to Tasmania.

  • Joy's home is accurately described in the listing but is lovelier when you arrive. Everything was clean and crisp. Joy has taken great care to give guests everything they could possibly need. There is also access to a wonderful kitchen if they would like to prepare a meal from local, fresh produce. A lovely place to stay!

  • This welcoming property is filled with light and spectacular views of the garden and stream. Don't plan anything for early in the morning though as the beds are so comfortable that you will struggle to leave them. Warm feather comforters and quality sheets will have you longing to spend the day in bed!
