The Hayloft is situated in the grounds of the stunning Rushbury Manor an Elizabethan house in the heart of the South Shropshire Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The Hayloft is an oak framed barn beautifully furnished and has views across Ape Dale towards the Long Mynd.
Relax and unwind under the hand crafted, traditionally build cruck oak frame and escape from it all or if you prefer cycling, country walks or more challenging hikes are all possible straight from the door. Take in the spectacular views of the Shropshire Hills from the secluded garden or venture out to try the abundance of local food and real ales or just walk the 1/2 mile to our local pub.
The location lends itself to exploring the local area by foot, bike or car; we have lived in the area for a long time and are happy to help you make the most of your stay. We can help you with walking routes, places to visit such as Ironbridge, local restaurants, places to cycle; off road or on quite country lanes. The South Shropshire hills are on the border between England and Wales, it is a perfect place for a quick retreat away from busy life. If you like history, food or outdoor activities the local area has got it in spades; the many castles and other fortifications (including one just over the road from the Hayloft) tell the tale of border conflicts. Shropshire was the birth place of Darwin, the modern Olympic games and the industrial revolution which has been carefully preserved at the Ironbridge museums, only a few miles away however it is almost as if it never happened. You are not far from great restaurants and places to go out, in particular Ludlow is renowned for its food and festivals and has two restaurants with Michelin stars.

Lovely warm room in the old part of the house with a phenomenal view across the South Shropshire hills. Very peaceful place, great to unwind. Use of the kitchen/diningroom which has an Aga for cooking needs. Great location if you're interested in cycling or walking as we're on the Jack Mytton Way. Only a short drive to Church Stretton, Much Wenlock, Ludlow, Bridgnorth & Shrewsbury. Easy access to the Ludlow fringe & fayres, Hay book festival, Vfest etc Sadly not suitable for children u12.
Lovely setting in an ANOB along a private drive, with SSSI flower meadows just up the lane. A lovely warm house, with a very friendly, exuberant dog who makes everyone very welcome! We're in the process of slowly renovating, so no builders dust etc but the decor is rather tired at the moment. The bed is very comfortable and clean tho! The drive is rather rough, again a work in progress atm.
The Shropshire Hills AONB, market towns full of good food, excellent local pubs, interesting places to visit - Acton Scott Working Farm Museum, Stokesay Castle, Attingham Park, to name but a few. If you want something a bit different then there is, the Knighton Observatory, Midland Gliding Club & Church Stretton Golf club both on the Long Mynd. A stones throw from Wales! Great wildlife viewing opportunities including Foxes, Fallow/Roe deer and Red Kites. Breakfast of cereal and toast is included in the price!

Surrounded by SSSI fields full of wild orchids and other rare plants and flowers.
Situated on the Shropshire Way atop Wenlock Edge in an AONB up a private lane, the cottage is warm and welcoming, comfortably furnished and has a real home from home feel. Longview Farm is a tranquil smallholding deep in the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We have 8 acres of land which we steward organically using permaculture techniques, but we're choosing to keep our a new eco campsite venture very small. We're offering max 5 pitches on the 3 acre camping field, so you will have lots of space. One of those pitches is sweet little Wonky Wagon (so called because of her interesting roof design), a recently built Shepherd's Hut / tiny home.
WONKY WAGON Wonky (so called because of her interesting roof design) is a newly built shepherd’s hut tiny home which has recently come to stay at Longview Farm. She can accommodate 2 people on her mezzanine bed, and two people on the downstairs futon. Four people will be a squeeze though, and pretty intimate! Families with small children should be aware there are steep-ish steps both up to Wonky and the compost toilets Water : Wonky is plumbed in to the mains, so cold water is freely available Cooking : she has her own kitchen containing a two ring gas stove, sink and drainer, all the things you’d need to prepare a basic meal and 4 each of cutlery and crockery items. We’ll supply some basics like salt and pepper. Breakfast: we leave you to provide your own breakfast. With so many different eating preferences and dietary requirements out there it seems impractical for us to try and do it and is likely to result in food waste. Bedding : as this is an eco stay, we think having to do laundry between every guest - even if they've only stayed one night - is unsustainable, using unjustifiable amounts of electricity, water and detergent. Additionally, we dry laundry in the fresh air, so can't we do it without fair weather! We will put a sheet on the futons but we ask you to supply your own sheets and bedding; we have priced accordingly. If this is a big problem e.g. you’re travelling by public transport / bicycle / walking we might be able to negotiate by prior agreement and with notice. Our usual charge for this service would be £10-15 per stay for a double bed. Electricity : there’s no electricity in Wonky but if you need to charge a phone we can supply a battery pack at £2 per charge Lighting : we will supply two 70 lumen wind up lamps, the rest is down to you but please see Fire section below Wood burner: there is a problem with the wood burner and it cannot be used. This is why we don't even mark one as present on our amenities list. For your own safety and so as not to damage the wagon, do not attempt to use it. Candles : we ask you not to light fire of any sort (including candles) within the wagon. The wagon belongs to a friend who is out of the country, and these are the terms we have agreed with him. Fire: ****Please do not have a camp fire without asking us in advance. *** Please do not take wood you have found on site to make a fire - it may be intended for building materials or animal habitat. We can supply a sack of wood and kindling at a small charge.
THINGS TO DO LOCALLY AND FURTHER AFIELD We are a WWOOF (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms) exchange hosts, so there may be scope to help out with smallholding activities if you’d like to There is a footpath right from the gate, taking you up to Nordy Bank (Iron Age Hill Fort) and Brown Clee Hill or down to Bouldon and the Tally Ho pub (45 minutes) Cycling is very popular round here but be warned – there be ‘ills! Clee St Margaret is a very pretty village with a 12th Century church and the longest ford in Shropshire St Milburga’s Sacred Well – legend has it the waters cure eye problems. Stoke St Milborough Ludlow, thriving Medieval market town and renowned for its foodie culture. With stunning castle, black and white historic buildings, museum, rivers, cafes, brewery, Assembley Rooms (cinema and theatre), leisure centre with very affordable spa facilities and lots of independent shops Ludlow Food Court and Garden Centre Clee Hill and magnificant views to the south Land of Lost Content – National Museum of Popular Culture, Craven Arms Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre, Craven Arms Stokesay Castle, near Craven Arms Stokesay Court, near Craven Arms (where Atonement was filmed) Acton Scott working farm (where Victorian Farm was filled) Long Mynd and Carding Mill Valley with waterfalls, very popular with walkers, near Church Stretton (National Trust) Ironbridge, Gorge and museums including Blist Hill Victorian Village (National Trust) Berrington Hall, Croft Castle and Wilderhope Manor (National Trust) Beautiful historic towns of Shrewsbury, Much Wenlock, Bridgnorth, Church Stretton The quirky and alternative town of Bishops Castle Bronze Age Stone Circle Mitchell’s Fold

Attractive barn-conversion situated on a small courtyard development in the idyllic / rural village of Culmington (4 miles from Ludlow). Features a large open-plan living room / kitchen and dining room. Two double bedrooms.
Originally founded as an agricultural building in the 1830s, the structure has undergone numerous renovation works during its century-old history; now known as ‘Emerald Lodge’, the cottage enjoys a new-lease of life as a cosy country-retreat within a short drive of Ludlow.
Culmington, a south Shropshire village, is situated about 4 miles north of Ludlow and 25 miles south of Shrewsbury. It lies on the border of a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village is small, but as a parish, the boundaries embrace the hamlets of Vernolds Common, Seifton and the land below the brook that crosses the lane leading up to Westhope. A short drive away you will find yourself in the ancient market town of Ludlow, offering a multitude of quaint shops, pubs and restaurants. Besides the obligatory tour of Ludlow's 11th century castle, you are strongly encouraged to sample an ale in the local brewery and swing-by Ludlow Food Centre (where farming, food production and retailing come together to create a very special environment). We are confident you will love Ludlow as much as we do, but should you need any recommendations or ideas of what to do, please ask.

Black Sheep Barn is a luxurious two bedroom converted barn situated near Ludlow in a remote, undiscovered pocket of the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It’s a good place to get away from it all. Explore miles of hill, wild heath and forest or sit on the terrace and enjoy fifty mile views across the small holding to the edge of the Black Mountains and Welsh border. We think it is a special place and we hope you will think so too.
You will have the whole of Black Sheep Barn to yourselves. This includes a small wooden decking area and two parking spaces. The barn is adjacent to our house on a small holding with sheep, chickens and vegetable garden. Neither property can be seen from the other and you have plenty of privacy whilst still having an amazing view out over the fields and hills to the horizon. There is a log burner, underfloor heating and electric radiators to heat the property. Porch/Boot room Enter through a porch and boot room, with underfloor heating to help dry your muddy boots and water proof jackets after a good exploration of the hill. There is also a washing machine and sink here together with space to dry some washing. This is a good place to leave a dog when you go out, should you choose to. Living area Get your slippers on and descend the couple of steps down into the main living area. This consists of dining and lounge areas which open out onto a wooden decking where you might wish to sit and watch the sun set. The dining area has a table and four chairs. The lounge has two sofas around a wood burning stove, with a TV and hi-fi. The hi-fi is old but has a mini jack lead for you to plug your phone in. There is a wall of shelves with board games and books for you to borrow. Also a record player and small selection of records. Kitchen and shower room Climb a few steps to the kitchen, shower room and bedrooms. The kitchen and bathroom have heated floors to warm your feet on a cold winter's morning. The kitchen overlooks the living area, making keeping an eye on children easier. It has all pots, pans and utensils you should need. There is a kettle, toaster, electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge and microwave oven. The shower room has a large, walk in shower with drencher and standard heads, toilet, basin and heated towel rail. A baby bath is available should this be useful to you. Bedrooms Bedroom one has a timber clad wall, made from timber that once clad the back of the barn. There is a window looking up the hill, king size bed, chair, hairdryer, hanging space and drawers for your clothes. Bedroom two also has a window looking up the hill. It has two single beds which can be pushed together to make a super king size bed. Please let us know in advance if this is the arrangement you would prefer. There are drawers and hanging space for your clothes.
Black Sheep Barn is high up on the side of Brown Clee Hill. This is part of the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It’s a good place to get away from it all. You could park up, leave your car for the entire holiday and spend your days exploring the beautiful hill. You can step straight from the barn into miles of open access land, meaning you can roam where you wish. The hill is used by a few walkers, horse riders and mountain bikers but usually we have it to ourselves. Ancient woodland, panoramic views and an Iron Age hill fort are all within walking distance. Wild horses roam the hill side, Buzzards, Ravens and Red Kites soar overhead. In the summer, migratory birds inhabit the reeds and gorse. If you are lucky there are deer to be found in the woods. You could follow a stream as it winds its way, try to find the wild horses, swim in Boyne water, explore the woods or just sit by the fire or on the decking and look out over the Corvedale to Wales. If you want a longer walk you could follow the Shropshire Way or head over the hill to the pub for some lunch. You could bring your food with you or order a Sainsbury’s delivery. Alternatively, there are many good places to eat locally. The lovely town of Ludlow is a twenty five minute drive away, with independent shops and plenty of eating options. It is a town that prides itself on locally sourced, high quality food. There is a castle overlooking the river, riverside walks and plenty of pubs. The nearest village with amenities is Ditton Priors, 3 miles away, with a general store, post office, petrol station, pub, butchers and a great cafe 'The Willows'.

This is a very secluded cottage away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It is up a private lane with only one other house near. I have been on Airbnb for a couple of years with my single room but, as I'm now away a lot, I thought I'd also offer the whole house when I am not there, as I find it so peaceful and relaxing. Sitting outside all you can hear is birdsong and the occasional tractor
The cottage is wonderfully quiet - I rarely hear any traffic. It's an ideal holiday home for those wanting to explore the Shropshire Hills, or just have some peace. It comprises of one double bedroom, one single bedroom, downstairs bathroom (bath, toilet and basin), upstairs bathroom (shower, toilet and basin), living room, dining room, study, kitchen, utility room, very large garden and secluded patio.
The nearest shops (Church Stretton) are 7 miles away, so a car is pretty essential up here. Ludlow, Shrewsbury and Bridgnorth are about 30 minutes away, with gorgeous independent coffee shops and restaurants.
