  • We had such a lovely stay at 'Beudy Bach', the cottage is very comfortable, clean and well equipped. Tim an Phillipa were very helpful and on hand if we needed anything, There is a handy pub not far down the road and we had a great day out in Harlech at the castle and on the amazing beach. Just the break from London we needed!

  • Lovely little barn. Its perfect for two people. We very appreciated the big bed and the good shower :-) It's a 15min walk to the 2 pubs in llanbedr at the woods edge, passing cows, ponys, horses and sheep. Thx to Tim and Philippa who were two very helpfull and nice hosts :-) I only wished it was a bit better weather so we could have enjoyed more the little sittplace outside.

  • Hi Tim & Phillipa, first of all thank you for our lovely weekend at your very exclusive little historic accommodation. We felt very at home, very cosy with picturesque surroundings. When leaving Beudy Bach in what ever direction you choose you are spoiled with nature and history close enough to taste, and so quiet with so lovely views virtually in the back garden. Finally to you both we were welcomed on our arrival and very understanding with our late arrival due to unforeseen problems leaving for our journey held us up and still you leave your family and go through accommodation details and tips, info of local sites and trips. We also found the accommodation through out to be very organised and tuned for that 100% stress free break away from it all. Many thanks again Simon&Ania

  • The cottage was perfect for a weekend break in Snowdonia, good location and really well kept. The cottage was really clean and had everything we needed for the weekend. Would definitely visit again.

  • A great little place with wonderful hosts! We spent a week biking and walking in Wales as a couple and Beudy Bach proved to be the perfect base - not far from main roads but far enough that there's no noise and no light pollution. The barn was gorgeous - cosy at night, airy during the day, and with everything we needed. Tim and Phillipa live just next door and were great hosts - around when we needed them, very friendly and happy to chat, but not in the slightest bit intrusive. It was great just how much thought has gone into the eco credentials of the place - from the solar panels to the recycling bins (even food recycling!) and loads of little things, like smart timers and eco-friendly paint.

    Dirk2016-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Tim and Phillipa made us feel really welcome and great hospitality with lovely coffee tea and Welsh cakes. The accomodation is really cosy and the cowshed conversion has been done to a very high standard and very eco friendly. Beautiful part of North Wales with plenty of walking and cycling routes. If weather not too good great to spend a day traveling along the coast by train. We were not blessed with great weather for our stay so are keen to go back for a second stay to see the beautiful views, walk along the beaches hopefully in the sunshine and be able to lie in bed and star gaze on clear nights. Highly recommended.

  • Fabulous place to stay! Minutes away from the beach, your own sitting room, bedroom, & bathroom. Amazing host!!! We loved chatting with Sue! She was charming with our little toddler- even bringing out a SUPER cute puppet at breakfast! (Sue will make such a WONDERFUL Grandma!!) We really enjoyed our stay! Very comfortable home to be in! Highly recommend!

  • Sue was such a nice and lovely host. She was gracious and very generous. She cooked such delicious and wholesome breakfasts for my wife and I. She had a lot of information and pamphlets and always had local tips and stories. I loved being able to get to know her. The location was great for exploring the coastline and attractions. As for the bedroom and amenities it was very private and I felt like I could relax. There was a nice TV in the bedroom and a larger one in the living quarters. I truly enjoyed my stay.

    Nicholas2016-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Sue is a really amazing host a great cook and such a kind person, we had a great time staying with her and felt so well looked after. We were sad to leave and hope to come back some time!

  • Great stay. Sue is very friendly and made us feel extremely welcome. Great advice on local amenities and superb breakfast with home made jams. I would fully recommend a stay.

    Garry2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Sue really made us feel welcome! She is very very nice! She showed us where we could make tea and later on learning my boyfriend was sick she offered some homemade soup! The room is nice and big and lovely and clean with a really comfy bed! The claw foot tub in the bathroom was also charming. Sue offered us some good restaurant recommendations - I ended up going to Tony's and it was delightful! In the morning Sue made delicious bilberry muffins and pancakes as well as setting out a veritable breakfast feast! She also let us try her sparkling elderflower drink! I will definitely return to stay with Sue next time I'm in the area!

  • We stayed for 3 nights, had a wonderful experience. Our only planned activity was to hike Mt. Snowdon. We owe this almost entirely to Sue, who is an excellent host - she had many great suggestions and provided a wealth of personal insights into the area as well as ample literature on possible activities. And the food she provided for breakfast was terrific. She was warm and friendly, and the locality is terrific with easy access to everything around.

Set in extensive grounds, the cottage annex is within walking distance of the beach, two pubs and the village shops . "Where the mountains roll down to the sea", Dyffryn Ardudwy is ideally situated to explore all that Snowdonia has to offer - fabulous scenery and a beautiful coastline dotted with castles. The accommodation offers a double and a large twin bedded room, a living/kitchen/ dining room and a shower room and separate toilet. Private parking on the drive and outside seating area.
Close to all the village amenities, and within walking distance of the railway station and beach, Troed y Rhiw is set back off the main road in a quiet lane, and is surrounded by gardens, lawn and orchard.
With the historic town of Harlech about four miles north, and the seaside town of Barmouth about five miles south, Dyffryn is one of a few villages between the two, on the main road that runs parallel to the coast, so you're never more than a short distance away from a lovely beach or a mountain walk. In a peaceful setting away from the main tourist areas or caravan sites, Troed y Rhiw is an island of tranquility. The Cambrian railway is conveniently close, so even without a car,its possible to visit many local attractions, including Portmeirion, Harlech and Criccieth castles, and the steam trains that leave from Portmadoc or Tywyn. The cottage is neither ancient nor modern, having a charm all of its own.
  • Sue and Pam were fantastic hosts! We had a wonderful stay and felt very welcomed instantly. The cottage is very clean and cosy. Everything that you need is provided. There is ample space in the cottage and you are also welcomed to take advantage of the big garden if you feel like lounging in there. The village is picturesque and you can find a quite well-equipped shop and nice pub in there as well. It turned out to be very good choice for exploring Snowdonia. Sue and Pam were very helpful and gave us a lot of fantastic ideas for days out. It felt more like stay at home and we all family enjoyed it – totally recommend!

  • No frills Cottage with lovely location and super friendly host. I'd say this is a great little place set in a lovely location. The shower is surprisingly great which after a day at the beach is a bonus.

  • Sue's an excellent host! Her place has character, is very clen and tidy. Sue's very friendly and hospitable and her mum is a sweetheart. She has a big binder with all the necessary information and took care we know and have everything we need. She even baked muffins for us the other day, and they were delicious!!

    Lea2017-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Sue and her mum were absolutely brilliant hosts. They went over and above to facilitate the stay of us, our friends and our 9 months old baby. It was the perfect balance of being welcoming and helpful but maintaining our privacy and leaving us to our own devices. The cottage if beautiful and really comfortable. Lovely new bathroom and toilet, interesting features like old doors and windows, beautiful large garden. Would definitely go back there again.

  • I stayed with my two boys 10 and 7. Sue's place is an annex to a cottage and is a lovely quaint little place with two big bedrooms in fantastic gardens and a lovely quiet little village. Positioned off a side road its quiet and is walking distance to a big sandy beach. Train station is also close. There is a great local shop and butchers. The annex is really well equipped, everything you need int he kitchen and towels are provided. There are loads of great activities to do in the area, a lot of things to entertain kids really close, it was really easy to fill a week. Sue was a great host, really helpful and met us on arrival and at departure. Pam who lives in the cottage and was lovely to chat to and really hospitable. Would highly recommend.

    Chris2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Really well-equipped cottage with wonderful gardens in a great location. Very peaceful stay. The house is within easy reach of shops in the village, plus the beach, and just 5 miles from Barmouth and Harlech. Sue was really helpful and friendly and made sure we had everything we needed.

    Rachel2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Just back from our week in the cottage and really enjoyed the peaceful setting, beautiful garden, and spacious rooms. The kitchen was very well equiped, beds very comfortable, and everywhere was very clean. Beach was 20 mins walk away so I did that every morning (before the rain set in!) and called in at the shop at the holiday camp for milk and other necessities on the way back. The station was less than 10 mins walk and the trains ran dead on time but, as they are only every 2 hours, we usually drove into Barmouth as parking was easy and not too expensive (compared to Oxford!!). Our hosts were very welcoming but not intrusive. Would definitely stay here again.

  • Dianna and her husband Mike are a great host and are staying just near to the caravan. Mike had been a great help and was available for anything that we need. He ensured that we get all required assistance if required. This place is around 3 miles from Bormouth harbour and a good choice for money. The garden outside caravan makes the stay more beautiful.

  • This was a perfect place for me to stay working locally, and if you are travelling for business or leisure this offers an idealic comfortable friendly place to stay. You are based in such a location with great access to the beach and the snowdonia park, it would suit that holiday away from it all, but still have fun with your family. Dianna and her family were amazing hosts you could not ask for anything more.

  • We were made very welcome by our host and everything was as described. It was perfect for us. Private and quiet but walking distance to a beautiful beach and within a short drive to many other points of interest. With young children to keep occupied it was a great place to stay but would equally suit anyone wanting to get away from it all and enjoy the stunning surroundings.

    Barbara2016-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Dianna and her family were beyond helpful. They helped in every way possible and then some. The caravan was clean and cozy and located in a beautiful area. They told us about places near by and how to get there. Communication before arriving was great. They were also flexible with check in time so that was a bonus also. Looking forward to staying again in the future.

The busy seaside resort of Barmouth is squeezed into the small amount of habitable space between the hills and the water on the North side of the Mawddach estuary as it reaches the sea. Barmouth Map & Directions Barmouth is the start and finish of the Mawddach Way and the start (or finish) of the popular Mawddach Trail which runs along the old Barmouth to Dolgellau railway line. Barmouth has plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs and ice cream parlours. It can be very quiet outside of the summer months with some of the cafes and restaurants closed, but there is always somewhere to find a meal or a snack, and some would argue that this is the best time to visit. The iconic Barmouth railway bridge, just outside of the town, is one the most photographed and instantly recognisable features in all of Wales. Bike Hire is available in the town.
  • Great cottage, everything you could need provided, helpful friendly host, spotlessly clean. Really would recommend to anyone. Pity we had only a few days to enjoy the comfort and quiet.

  • A great cottage in a nice quiet location. Close enough to Barmouth along with easy access to beaches nearby or a 45ish minute drive to some nice walks near to Snowdon. Well stocked kitchen with everything we needed to cook for the three nights, along with a comfy bed and a good shower meant we would have liked to have stayed for longer had time allowed. A friendly warning: watch some of the doorways if you are tall.

  • This is a quiet cabin and a nice base for some very pretty hikes, both on the coastline and up into the hills, and is accessible by public transportation (we arrived on a train from Birmingham, which takes a very scenic route). We had a very nice Sunday dinner at the local Ysgethin inn, which is about a fifteen minute walk through fields (open in winter all days but Monday). Our host offered to pick up groceries for us, but we shopped once at the Co-op in Barmouth and another time walked on footpaths up to the Spar in Dyffryn Ardudwy. There are two walking routes to the cottage from the railway station: one along pavement by the main road and then up the farm track (if you want to keep your feet mud-free) and another more scenic route past a farm house through fields (with some mud) that we preferred to use. The ceiling heights inside the cottage are good for tall people. Two of the doorways are low inside the cottage and six-footers will need to duck their heads for those, but overall the rooms have nice high ceilings which gives it a good, spacious feel.

  • Fantastic cottage. Lovely quiet and secluded location. Perfect for our two small dogs as they can't escape in the garden. Great walks and great host. Thanks for the little extra's. It was appreciated. Storm Brian kept us in a fair bit but the cottage is very cosy and I relaxed for a few days from work. Thanks Sam.

  • Very quiet, good value for money, well equipped, under floor heating was a real treat in the bathroom. Perfect for two people and a good base for exploring north Wales. Lovely welcoming local pub 'The Ysgethin Inn' in Tal-y-bont serves great real ales. Menu looked interesting but not tried it-had vegetarian options too.

  • Our Christmas stay at ysgubor was very special. The house felt like Home very quickly, had everything we needed to cook with and was warm and cosy. Surrounding scenery is fabulous and kids enjoyed dunes 10 minutes walk away. Much appreciated lovely hosts Richard and Sue who are on hand if needed.

  • Richard and Sue are the perfect hosts. Their house is beautiful, clean and well equipped in all respects. We were warmly greeted by Richard on arrival, with rock cakes and a huge loaf of the best home made bread I have ever had. He took us all around the house and explained everything. Since they also live on the property, which has 4 other houses, they asked us to feel welcome to ask if we had any clarifications or needed anything. We met the lovely Sue when we were leaving and she is a treat! Sue's personal touch is visible in every aspect of the house, from the knick knacks to the softest linen, to the fresh flowers in every room! We truly enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend Richard and Sue's house for anyone who wants to have a lovely holiday. Thank you Richard and Sue for a wonderful holiday!

  • Thanks Sue and Richard for the warmth and hospitality you have shown during our stay at ys Gubor. We found your cottage to be warm and welcoming and it had all convenience we needed. The children were very happy to see the toys and all of us enjoyed the magazines and views from the house on the one day that we stayed in due to the rain. The Garden is also lovely and we really enjoyed the homemade bread and rock cakes which Sue kindly left us. Overall a very enjoyable vacation home (Website hidden by Airbnb)

  • The cottage is really beautifully renovated with well equipped kitchen and extremely clean and comfortable. The location proved to be better than we had expected as we were so near Harlech Castle, Mount Snowdon and so many other amazing day trips. Our favourite trip was to Bardsey Island and we highly recommend visiting the grey seals. All in all a great trip and a superb cottage with a friendly caring host.

  • We enjoyed our stay very much. The house is very clean and up-to-date. We loved the two fire places and the kitchen and the conservatory. Everything was great. The host was very helpful and the area allowed us to do a lot of outdoor activities with our children: beaches, castles, exploring little villages along the coast, a bit of shopping, etc....we had a very nice vacation. The host had milk, a bottle of wine and squash in the fridge for us when we arrived and some welsch cakes which we really appreciated. We can highly recommend this lovely cottage!

  • Stephen was an incredible host. We were very behind schedule on our day to check in and Stephen waited up for us until we arrived at 11:30 pm to make sure we got in safely. House is beautiful and in a great location for visiting snowdonia. He made us a full breakfast in the morning and helped us figure out where we should visit on the map. Absolutely wonderful people. Wish we could've stayed longer!

  • A lovely quiet place to stay. Stephen gave us a warm friendly welcome. Such a beautiful house with nice comfy beds plus a delicious breakfast. The hosue is close to two pubs which served lovely food. Would fully recommend staying here and hope to return in the future ourselves.

  • This is a great home; wonderful hosts, beautifully updated home, and lovely village. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Be sure to eat in the pub off the beaten path, where the locals eat. I hope you enjoy your stay.

  • A great home with a fantastic host! We had a wonderful time; the house is immaculate - a beautifully renovated property. Our room was lovely, very quiet and as others have said, the beds are super-comfy. We loved Stephen's breakfasts and our morning chats and my daughter particularly enjoyed meeting his 2 dogs and Memphis the cat! Stephen is relaxed and welcoming and gave us a couple of great tips for evening meals - of note are Ty Mawr in the village and Norbar on the way to Barmouth - both do excellent food and have friendly staff. Stephen also leant us a map and gave us a few local tips and places to see. This is a beautiful part of Snowdonia with much to do and having toured the area I can say it's a great place to base yourself for days out - close to the coast and easy driving distance to all the main attractions. We plan to visit again next year.

  • Stephen is a great host. He was helpful and accommodating throughout out my stay, even though there were some unknowns on my end till the last minute. He knows the area well, so may even advise on your cycling or walking route. The place itself is lovely and quiet, the room clean with private bathroom and comfortable bed. Close to a small grocery shop and 2 pubs. Highly recommended for anyone visiting this part of Wales.

    Marek2017-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Stephen lives in a wonderful typical Welsh village. An area that he loves dearly and shared it with us. It was so nice that he picked us up from the train station. He was very helpful with our organisation for daily activities in the area.

    Henri2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • The property was located in a scenic coastal village of Llanbedr between Tremadog Bay and Barmouth Bay which was the perfect location to explore the northern and southern areas of the Snowdonia national Park. We loved the tastefully decorated and architectural features of the property. It was clean, tidy and had great facilities including a big kitchen for you to cook if required. The breakfast was great with locally sourced produce. I would highly recommend staying with this host

  • Clare was such a warm, friendly and accommodating host and made us (my wife, a friend and I) very welcome in her beautiful studio located in a tranquil location. A central location to drive to Harlech, Snowdonia National Park, Caernarfon (castle) and Porthmadog, the studio has a charming, quaint pub nearby which served delicious food and good ales. Apart from making friends with the ponies and pigs in her farm, we also enjoyed playing foosball and table tennis in the games room. The various brochures in the studio gave tips on places to visit and things to do during our bank holiday weekend. All in all, a memorable place to stay and we immensely recommended Clare's studio to our friends back in Coventry!

  • What an amazing studio. Perfectly appointed, spotlessly clean, wonderfully comfortable. Clare was amazing - we were delayed arriving (midnight!!) but she welcomed us joyfully and gave us all the info we needed. The studio is in a great location to explore this part of Wales. We had a fabulous stay and will definitely be back.

Our one bedroom cottage lies in the Snowdonia National Park close to the beaches of Ardudwy, near Harlech on the west coast of Wales. Behind this coastal strip lie the Rhinog Mountains, giving marvellous choices of climbing and walking terrain. The cottage is well equipped in contemporary design and has balcony with sea view. From 1st May to 30th September we have a Saturday changeover. October through April bookings can be made for any day of the week.
This one bedroom cottage is ideal for a couple or a single person and as the name suggests, is set in the trees. From the parking area you enter the kitchen which has everything you should require for your stay; fridge/freezer, micro, toaster, oven, ceramic hob, instant hot water etc. You then move into the living area with tv/dvd and your double recliner, to the sliding door that leads you out to the balcony, where you can feed the birds, or gaze at the view across the fields to the estuary and bay. Downstairs (these are steeper than average), is the bathroom with a toilet, power shower and hand basin, then into the bedroom where there is a king size comfortable bed. Access to the small garden is from downstairs, this also affords views across the fields to the estuary and sea.
The cottage is the last property in a small hamlet of about 15 houses along a country lane that leads down to the main road and the local railway station (500yards). The village of Llanbedr is one mile away down the scenic lane that passes the cottage. Harlech with its famous castle lies two miles to the north, and the seaside town of Barmouth is 7 miles to the south. The famous Portmeirion Village is 11 miles away, and the steam railways of Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway are a short distance further. The natural beauty of this area which lies within the Snowdonia National Park attracts visitors back year after year. Tree Tops has sand dunes and beaches on its doorstep, the nearest a one mile walk, whilst behind it the hills rise up to the Rhinog Mountains which run parallel with the coast. There are many routes through this remote scenery, along most of which you rarely meet other hikers. There are two valleys (6 mile lane to the head) that give you access into the heart of the Rhinogs from Tree Tops. Additionally there are many organised and varied activities that guests can enjoy from surfing on an inland lagoon, zip line (longest in Europe, fastest in the world), exploring underground caverns, slate, copper mine tours, guided water adventures, and some of the best biking tracks and centres in the UK. There are restaurants in Harlech and Barmouth, as well as two pubs in Llanbedr ( one mile) which serve food.
  • This is a great little place - small but perfectly formed :) Its nicely decorated with all the amenities you'd expect, in good order and everything worked. Martin (the host) could not have been more helpful in showing us around and giving helpful local knowledge. The local beach (Llandanwg) is super place with sand, rocks and rockpools - I nice short walk around the beach and harbour. We went up Panorama Walk in Barmouth - such a stunning view and to Bodnant Gardens (lovely if you like that sort of thing) and to Portmeirion (lovely if all the other tourists hadn't been there too!) All in all, I couldn't recommend this more highly - thanks for a great break.

  • If you are thinking of escaping your busy life, we recommend tree top is the best idea. Its not so remote and not yet far from beautiful town where you can enjoy the view of both mountain as well as the beach. The tree top is very welcoming and feels like you are in home. Its not just a room but it offers a beautiful balcony with scenic view where you can feed birds and hear the sound of burbling water. Marrin and lynn were amazing hosts. They were always around to help. Their suggestion for our day out was really helpful. If we'll plan to go snowdon again, we'll return to tree top for sure.

  • Pen y Coed is an absolute gem of a place. From the view of the sea and the lovely lane down to the village (with a great little shop), to the very friendly Robin who sat with me on the balcony whilst I watched the other birds eating seed (supplied by Martin) - it was a real escape. The house has everything you’d need and was completely spotless. Good quality bedding and towels and a fabulous power shower. Will definitely return especially as it is only an hour and a bit from home!

    jennifer2017-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Tree Tops is just beautiful. We've stayed in some incredible places with air bnb in New York, Vienna, and Budapest. Tree Tops was so beautifully thought out and put together it's hard to do it justice with a review. It was so clean it was better than a hotel, the grounds have an amazing view and it's totally private. Martin and Lynn are professional and friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. It felt like a real home from home, but somehow something much more special. The squirrels also deserve a mention as they entertained my husband for hours on end! You won't be disappointed if you book this place.

    Katy2017-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely four night stay in a cosy cottage. Really close to some fantastic beaches within snowdonia, perfect for walking and relaxation. Accommodation clean, modern and well equipped. Nice balcony with great views. Off street parking, a bit tight getting out onto the country lanes but soon got used to it. Martin was a great host, gave many tips on where to visit and eat out. Would definitely book again.

    Catherine2017-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location, great little house for a short or long stay. Would definitely return, nice village nearby only 15 min walk. Great view from the balcony, clean, got everything you need. Friendly and welcoming host.

'Pen Coed' Caravan is a 2 bedroom property with private decking, garden and patio with driveway and parking. No pets are permitted as we have hens and ducks that roam around. It sits below woodlands and has views of the farm below. Wifi is not available but there is wifi at the main farmhouse 1 min away.
Pen Coed Caravan has no neighbours. It sits just in front of woodlands with private patio, decking, garden/driveway with parking for 2 cars easily. There is no mobile signal or internet in the caravan. However the farm reception has free wifi which is about 200 yards away. The caravan has a pound coin meter for the electricity and can cost between £1 - £3 a day depending on what time of year. We provide some power to start you off and it is very cheap to run during the summer months, it takes one pound coins! There is no central heating but we do have a gas fire in the lounge and electric heaters for the bedrooms. Please do not book if you cannot live without constant wifi as this is also part of the attraction of staying for guests who completely want to be off grid. If you cannot cope without internet or mobile service then please don't book or then add as a negative response afterwards. I am always available for guests as I live across the farm and can be contacted anytime. We live in a great location as the village is a few minutes by car leaving the traffic behind! The waterfalls up the road have river pools to swim in and mountains to explore. In fact you could leave your car on the farm and find a hand full of walks lead direct from the farm. Llanbedr has a regular bus and train service. Only 4 mins away is our local slate caverns and animal farm plus the local beaches to explore and Harlech Castle to investigate.

  • As described. Quiet and private. Clean and basics provided eg: shower gel, shampoo, washing up liquid, hand wash and condiments. Good supply of crockery and cutlery. Nice to have some chickens visit us for scraps.

  • We stayed at Claire's caravan for the eater weekend and the place is very comfortable and with great views. The waterfall nearby is a must do, may be hire a bicycle and go up the waterfall. We hiked the snowdonia while staying at Claire's and the places around are easily accessible if u have a car. Clare is very helpful and was very kind to offer us umbrellas and Easter treats :) It was a lively break for the 4 of us , thanks to Clare!

  • Claire was very welcoming and gave us suggestions for eating out, where to go etc. The caravan was everything we wanted, really well stocked, towels etc, we loved it! And the decking was just the icing on the cake, we ate out and played games till late into the evening. Quiet area/farm in a gorgeous part of Wales, well situated for the village and the best beaches we have ever seen. We would love to come back!

    Kim2016-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Clare's caravan. Totally idyllic setting and caravan had everything we could wish for, really comfortable and everything in very good condition. Clare is an exceptional host she couldn't do more for us, a lovely person. She even provided biscuits, tea, coffee and offered us fresh milk. My favourite part of the stay was sitting on the balcony having breakfast over looking the farm, chickens clucking around, stunning backdrop of tree covered hills, sun shining down. Bliss. Our girls made the most of the trampoline and the wi fi area and we could relax knowing they were totally safe to wander around. We love camping but with our young baby it wouldn't have been relaxing - this was the perfect solution plus when the weather turned bad we were cosy and snug! We were made so welcome and everything was just so easy and hassle free. We will definitely be coming back!

  • Gwynfryn Farm cottages and caravan were in a lovely, secluded feeling location, but within easy reach of several sights like Harlech Castle. The village was very quaint and the farm was beautiful. Our daughter loved seeing the ponies and feeding scraps to the pigs! The caravan was small (which we knew would be) but was immaculately clean and had everything we needed. It worked perfect for my husband, daughter and I. It was up on a hill away from the main cottages, which was nice with our dogs and gave us a bit more privacy. The cottages looked beautiful, though and if we were going back to Wales, we definitely book one. Clare was very friendly and helpful and her children were lovely, as well. Overall, a great stay!

    Elizabeth2016-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Clare was a very pleasant and welcoming Host. The caravan was big enough to comfortably sleep 4 adults and the facilities worked well. It was in a nice rural farm and there was an added bonus of some local pigs to feed. I would say including air bnb fees it's overpriced but otherwise recommended.

  • We had a wonderful few days in Ruth's caravan in Llanbedr. Ruth made us feel most welcome and was very attentive - the grandchildren particularly appreciated the offer of hot water bottles. The caravan was just as described and was well equipped to make our stay comfortable and relaxing. The garden was beautiful and gave a feeling of being very remote, the children loved to go exploring down to the stream. The area is beautiful - beaches with stunning views and the mountains behind. If you don't feel like cooking there are plenty of opportunities to eat out, either in the village within walking distance, or further afield. All in all a lovely holiday and we would love to return. Thank you Ruth for a lovely stay.

  • Ruth was more than welcoming and we all felt at home very soon. The caravan was very clean and comfortable and in beautiful surroundings. It really was a tranquil haven from which to holiday. Thank you Ruth! It was well equipped fro a family of four with two teenagers. We cooked for the whole week and everything was there that was needed. Close to many walks from the site and also to routes by car throughout the Snowdonia National park. We saw so much beauty and enjoyed the many beaches which were close ( 5 mins by car). The dog and five cats were wonderful company outdoors in the garden, all very friendly and good natured. The caravan however is totally pet free, so fine for those who are allergic or don't like to be around animals. The stream at the bottom of the garden and the river close by, wildflower fields we part of this lovely holiday haven A truly wonderful holiday.

  • We felt really welcome milk in fridge sugar and tea bags and some croissants. Ruth is very kind and wanted to make us feel relaxed which it was. As the description says tranquil caravan and it really is. Will go again when we go to Wales we usually go bed and breakfast but this was so much more relaxing. Well done Ruth hope to see you soon.

  • We had a lovely holiday in Ruth's caravan. Ruth is a wonderful host and couldn't have done more for us - we were particularly grateful for the very accurate directions and the delicious homemade cupcakes! The caravan has everything you would need, is clean, spacious and perfectly located for exploring Snowdonia. Thanks Ruth!

    Rebecca2014-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely welcome from Ruth and then left to to our own devices which is exactly how we like things. The caravan is perfect for a family holiday and even if there is a little rain the WiFi will keep any kid or adult entertained. Loved being able to pick raspberries with my little ones for breakfast and the garden is as peaceful and as pretty as described. Llanbedr offers an amazing stretch of coast and we explored from there up to Caernarfon including the entire Lyn peninsula (abersoch, nefyn and others). Harlech has the best pasties and ice cream on offer in north Wales and barmouth the best fish and chips, so Ruth's place really dose spoil on many fronts, and that mountain about far away either. Would recommend to anyone and would stay again tomorrow.

    Stephen2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Ruth was a most lovely host. She has cupcakes and milk in the caravan when we arrived. The house was freshly cleaned and we had towels waiting for us. The caravan was actually quite spacious in the living room, and the fireplace helped the evenings remain warm. Having the sound of the river to fall asleep to, albeit heard ever so faintly, was the cherry on top. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay and despite the close proximity of the caravan to Ruth's home, she gave us our space but was also there when we needed her. She had a lot of great tourist information on hand, which was nice since we had no idea what to do in the area. The close proximity to places like Barmouth was fantastic. We would definitely stay here again and can recommend Ruth for her hospitality and also her friendly animals and beautiful grounds! This caravan rental is the best deal in the area.

  • We had an amazing stay at Ruth's place. The setting is fab, Ruth has a beautiful garden so it really feels like you are in the middle of the country side. The caravan was great size and very clean. Ruth send us instructions prior to arrival so it was easy to find the place. The location is great as there are 3 pubs/restaurants walking distance, where you can spend the evenings. It's also close to all the major treks and attractions. We are definitely coming back!

  • We had a lovely stay at Ruth's. It was just what we expected and wanted. So nice to be able to come back and get warm after being out in the rain at Festival No.6! We really appreciated Ruth's kindness and the tea, coffee and welsh cakes left for us too! Easy to see why Ruth's a super host.

  • This was hands-down the most lovely place we've stayed. The spacious room looks out over the ocean, with waves rolling in just below. The decor is definitely upscale, and very comfortable. Allison - who is very welcoming - has thought through all the details and created a truly special place. She even provided some breakfast items for the room and a bottle of nice wine.

  • Splendid place in the key aspects. The large room had a spectacular view over the sands and the bay. We had our car and got to the places we wanted in Snowdonia (inc the Rhyd Ddu / Snowdon hike 2hrs up and 2 down). We enjoyed the walks on the prom to Barmouth (30min) and up the hills between Barmouth and Llanaber.

  • AMAZING trip in this beautiful house. The view on the ocean from the room is just beautiful and so quiet. The garden was very welcome for tea time with all the cakes Allison reserved to us. Very comfy bed with high quality linnen sheets. So kind hosts with every detail that counts a lot at the end! :-)

    Caroline2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is just an wonderful characterful house in an equally wonderful location. Very late Edwardian (well short by 2 years but anyway!)The seaview from our room was actually awesome - and that's not a word I often use! The room itself has been kitted out with all those things the experienced B&B'er hopes for, but is often disappointed not to find. Simple things like fresh milk and flapjacks, a corkscrews. Then the extra mile touches, like the high quality bedding and towels and the glorious velvety robes. I felt like a big glamorous mole in mine! The house is easy walking distance to Barmouth, or the lovely seaview bar in the other direction towards Tal-y-bont. Allison and her husband made us incredibly welcome, and yet were 100% unobtrusive. Lots of useful leaflets and ideas for things to do, in the room. It was my birthday and they'd left notes and a card and even birthday wine. Can't find a single fault. We would have stayed another night if the room hadn't been booked already. I hope the next people loved and enjoyed it as much as we did.

  • It's a beautiful large room, quite luxurious, and with a huge view on the sea. Everything works perfectly, is so cosy and soft, and there is anything you could wish for, and even more ! Our hosts were very nice and welcoming, and gave us numerous tips for discovering the surroundings. We had a perfect stay.

  • Beautiful suite with an uninterrupted view of Cardigan Bay from the bay window and garden. Allison has an excellent eye for detail and could not have been more accommodating during our stay.

Jane and Reg invite you to share with them the beautiful house and grounds of Hafod Wen. Situated on the outskirts of Harlech, the house nestles on the escarpment overlooking the majestic sweep of Harlech beach, the sea, and towards the Snowdonia mountains. Morfa Harlech directly below the house is a designated (SSSI) and our private path leads through it to the public foot path, near Royal St Davids Golf Course, which then leads to Harlech beach. This unique coastal holiday home makes for a very special holiday with over 8 acres of grounds to enjoy. Later belonging to the benevolent Cadbury Quaker family, the famous chocolate manufacturers, it was built in 1904 by an army Colonel who had spent time in South Africa during the Boer War and its design reflects the architecture with Cape Dutch gables and a red tiled roof.
Looks out onto a truly magnificent view - the huge bay below encircled by the Lleyn Peninsula and the mighty mountains of Snowdonia. Delightful grounds with patio areas to relax in, small lawns and a huge variety of shrubs and trees that cling to the ledges of this lovely mature garden. Private gardens to each of the properties, with shared access to 8 acres of beautiful grounds, which contain a working garden with orchards, vegetable garden and beehives, while being a great place to relax and unwind. Outside terraced areas for enjoying long, relaxed breakfasts and lunches, or taking a stroll around the grounds with a glass of wine to admire the views. The owners, who live at the rear of the property, are happy to help arrange various activities such as mountain bike hire, book 'tee off' time, find active adventure packages, provide local maps and arrange walks of particular interests, including conducted local garden tours. One of the owners (Jane Chapman MA) has an art gallery on the grounds showing her work, and will offer guided tours on request.
Situated in the National Park of Snowdonia, with the mountains on one side and the beach on the other.
