Located on the vortex of the Camino Real & the Camino de Paz, adjacent to the Holy Cross Church, one of the most historic & oldest churches in New Mexico, most likely the oldest church in the USA, this place was an old mercantile store on the Plaza. I have divided it into two units (A&B). It is filled w/ local hand carved furniture, folk art, local paintings & crafts. A queen bed & single couch in the living room & a King bed in the bedroom & new Hot Tub Star Chamber, make for a memorable stay.
There are two units on the property Casita A & Casita B. Both Casitas have hot tubs and may also be available to book both for groups. You have your own driveway in front of the Casita A. & a brand new, one or two person hot tub. This space is like a suite with multiple sleeping arrangements. $45. extra per night for the use of second bed. A large dining table and chairs make for a conference table as well as an eating place.
You will be staying in the oldest most historic place in NM. This is where it all started and then spread out from here. This place has been forgotten. My mission is to bring it back to the historic merit it deserves. By staying here, you are helping me to do that.
  • Great fun space and just the right distance from Santa Fe!

  • Perfect spot to spend Christmas. The casita and historic Santa Cruz church across the square where decked out in farolitos Christmas Eve. The casita is very large and decorated in a fun New Mexico Shabby Chic style. The kitchen is stocked well enough that we were able to make a nice Christmas dinner. Kathryn provided numerous publications and was ready with suggestions for activities. I was visiting from Albuquerque for work, but this would also be a great location for exploring Northern New Mexico.

  • Loved the house and the tranquil neighbourhood!

    Daniel2018-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay. It is clean, the bed was comfy, and the decor was great fun! If you stay here, take Kathryn up on her offer to take you on a tour of the church and the adobe housea she's restoring. Finally, this is doggie paradise. Check out the trails around the nearby golf course. Beautiful!

    Jennifer2018-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this space and wish we could have stayed longer to fully appreciate it. We especially loved the decor and the beautiful bed. The hot tub was amazing after a long day driving and she even left us a bottle of wine! Highly recommended. We will definitely stay here again when we’re in the area.

  • Kathryn was a great host with an amazing place! Highly recommend it to all staying in the area. Really authentic .. a spacious!

    Cara2018-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing spot!! The decorations are so interesting we spent a good amount of time just wondering around looking at everything. The bed is very comfy, the space is clean and well-kept, and the hot tub was everything we wanted and more. We highly recommend staying here!

  • Parmatma is a great host & I loved staying in the casita! The setting is absolutely gorgeous both day & night. He was responsive to my inquiries prior to and during my stay. I was there a month so I'm glad we got along :-) The location is about 20 minutes north of Santa Fe (easy drive). I used the Waze app and it got me there straight away. It is also an easy, quick drive to Taos, at least in November. My dogs loved it too! I was able to let them off-leash and they had plenty of space to roam.

    Karla2015-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Parmatma is a great host. He gives you privacy but if there are any problems he is there to help. The location is a bit far from Santa Fe but the countryside where the bnb is set is breathtaking. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to do some hiking or just wanting a quiet place to decompress.

    Pearl2017-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • My visit to Parmatma's home let me "feel the essence" of the land. Nice little studio, king bed, small kitchen that has the basics, a 2 top table and nice yet small bathroom. It's all you need.

    Tom2018-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • The stay was great. Parmatma was a very friendly and helpful host. He communicated well and was flexible. I mentioned that it would be a friend and I so he set up the room to have 2 separate twin beds. The outside area was beautiful! We wish we had more time to explore the area. The extra fees made the price seem slightly too high for what you get. Considering the area though we were willing to pay to stay here vs. other options. Overall great stay!

    Emily2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. Parmatma is a responsive host who takes care of his guests while giving them plenty of privacy. Recommended for anyone looking for a quiet retreat near Santa Fe.

    Jordan2018-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location, cozy space. We loved hiking through the fields just behind the house. Beautiful and relaxing

    Grace2016-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was great! Highly recommended! Might be tricky at night if you're not familiar with the area but this is just encouragement to get there early and enjoy your time there!

    Elijah2015-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Parmatma is a very welcoming host and Kokopelli Suite is well located for sightseeing in the Santa Fe, Los Alamos, Ojo Caliente and Taos areas. The unit is well-presented and set-up for two people. The area is very private and quiet, with great views across the town of Española and the Rio Grande valley. It also has easy and quick access to the main road to between Española and Santa Fe.

Northern New Mexico is spectacular! There's an aroma of chiles roasting & piñon smoke everywhere. Red chile ristras are brightly hanging to dry. Golden aspen & cottonwood flash their colors. On the historic Camino Real, our 100 year old Casita, rented in it's entirety, has a private entrance, enclosed patio with hot tub, two bedrooms with queen beds, one bath, kitchen & living room. There is a $45. charge per night for using two bedrooms. See Camino Real Casita A if more space is needed.
You will be staying in an historic adobe. in the oldest, most historic area in New Mexico. It is a quaint adobe casita, not the Taj Mahal. filled with local hand carved furniture, and other folk art from around here. Both bedrooms feature queen size beds and Organic cotton sheets. We change the sheets once a week unless requested otherwise. It is quiet and peace filled, close to walking trails, pueblos, ancient sites, casinos, Santa Fe and Taos and one of the oldest of churches in Northern New Mexico, perhaps the oldest in the USA. There is another separate unit on the property available with a King and Queen bed.
Santa Cruz is one of the oldest settlements in North America. We are on the sacred vortex of the Camino Real and the Camino de Paz. Everything in New Mexico began here and spread out from here to Santa Fe, Taos and Albuquerque. Living here is like living in a small European village. Located on the Camino Real, it is a giant time machine. I find ancient Mexican and Indian pot shards as well as Victorian and Fifties broken pottery all around. The four crown jewels of un-remodeled churches are all within easy distance. Certainly a must see is Holy Cross Church or La Iglesias de la Santa Cruz de la Cañada, being adjacent to The Casita. The plaza is just a parking lot now but I hope with interest, we can bring it back to life as it once was. Your staying here helps to bring that possibility to life.
  • Katherine is a gracious host. There are some amazing cultural and modern touches in the decor and environment. A great central location for exploring Northern New Mexico, history, culture , churches and chapels. El Paragua was delish and Ojo Calente was great fun Mud and a variety of tubs.

    Maureen2018-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • This place is very clean and way beyond expectations in amenities. A great place to stay.

    Julie2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Such a gorgeous and wonderful place! The hot tub, folk art, comfortable beds & furniture... I wish we could have stayed longer, because this was by far my favorite place I've ever stayed via AirBnB. Treat yourself to an escape at this magical little oasis on the High Road to Taos: you won't regret it!

    Kiko2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place was pretty easy to find, but I must admit I am somewhat familiar with the area. Check-in was super smooth and easy, and when I had a question Kathryn was quick to respond. We did not get to meet in person, as my stay was so short and my schedule was tight. This is a true adobe; such a treat to stay in one while in that part of the Southwest. I could only stay one night, but this is an excellent place to stay for exploring the area all around. So much to see and experience! Some reviewers have said the place is rustic, but it is so charming and well-kept and clean. My stay was cozy and I had everything I needed and more. Again, a perfect place to stay for several days. I travel with two dogs and they were super happy with this arrangement; in fact, they preferred being out in the garden/patio. I will definitely stay here again if it is available in the future.

  • Kata was great! Accommodating, knowledgeable and very helpful. Thank you!!

  • This was my second stay here and it was as wonderful as the first!

    Thomas2017-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • We were greeted with snacks and wine and a wonderful hot tub ready to melt away our stress. The casita was beautifully decorated with traditional New Mexican furnishings and art. The cozy courtyard was secluded and delightful. So many thoughtful touches made for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

    Patricia2017-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • House and fenced yard are very charming, colorful and cozy. Being able to rent the entire house is a great value, plenty of space! Kathryn was a great host and was always easy to get in touch with, even being Christmas, and she had loads of recommendations for things to do and see. There were some issues with the heater at the house and Kathryn rushed over two space heaters which worked perfect to heat the rooms up at night (thank you!) We cooked quite a bit and found the kitchen utensils/appliances to be adequate for everything we needed. We had a lovely holiday here and would recommend a stay here.

  • Deborah's place had everything we needed. The bed was comfy, the fan was powerful, and the kitchen suited us well. Deborah herself is very pleasant, responsive, and kind. I'd highly recommend her home.

    Libby2018-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the space and location! Thank you for the wonderful brownies too.

    Gina2017-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Deborah and Ernesto were simply fantastic hosts. The property was just as advertised and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Deborah checked in regularly to see if there was anything I needed and responded promptly to all of my communications. Check-in and checkout was a breeze and the warm brownies on the table at check-in were a unexpected surprise. I will definitely stay here again next time I am in Española.

    Tim2018-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a delightful comfortable home. A kuerig coffee pot easily provided my coffee to go with the delicious brownies that Deborah made.

  • This was a perfect spot for our family's adventures in the Taos/Santa Fe area. This is a cozy and comfortable spot. We enjoyed our stay.

    Dax2018-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay here! The house was perfect. It was nice and clean and extremely cozy! It was in a convenient location and easy to get to. Deborah and her husband are amazing hosts. I definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a place to stay in Espanola. Thank you again for everything!

    Julia 2018-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Deborah is a great host! Very responsive from our first contact and flexible to meet our specific needs. She had a welcome book of tips of the area and a batch of delicious homemade cookies - after a long day in the car it was a great welcome. The kitchen had enough basics to be functional and tea and coffee well stocked. House was clean and nicely decorated - very comfortable. Toiletries were a nice touch and we enjoyed the Trader Joe’s products - my husband works for TJ in San Diego so it was a familiar product assortment. We would stay again it is central to explore Chimayo and Santa Fe and the local restaurants were tasty especially La Cocina

Playful & tasteful decor inspired by the stunning amount of sun light that enters through your private apartment, producing beautiful golden hues which radiate against the ceiling wooden beams & floors. Grab a book & some coffee & relax on your indoor hammock! Step outside onto your private front porch & enjoy the wonderful mountain range views of Sangre de Cristo and Jemez mountain ranges. • I needed a place to stay last minute and Ryham was able to get new in same day. Beautiful grounds and nice house.

  • It was really cool had a great time, the lot is beautiful. Very relaxed!

    Rowan2017-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Interior is nicer than the photos in terms of southwest design details and back patio off of kitchen. There are two units (we had the two bedroom); there's a studio that's attached (locked door connecting the units) that was occupied but we never really saw or heard them. It's a cool way to see Española, NM neighborhood. Short drive to Santa Fe Plaza and Bandelier. Fantastic views of the sunset from gazebo. Sleeping with windows open on the cold nights was great. Parmatma was super nice-willing to chat but also private. Great that they allowed our dog--trails just behind the property were very cool. Priced right.

    Margaret2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • He greeted us upon arrival and showed us around the house-explaining lock codes, where we could find extra bedding, linens, etc. Parmatma was very friendly and helpful throughout our experience. The property was beautiful! It was fenced in and felt very secluded and safe. We had access to a trail on the property, although we didn't have time during our stay to take advantage of it. The home was very comfortable and met our needs nicely. We look forward to another stay there soon! We all will all highly recommend this property to all of our friends.

    Emily2016-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Friendly and welcoming. Views were pretty and great hiking out the door so dogs were able to run around! Was great having a larger group and didn't have to paid for addition people.

    Amy2015-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • I booked this cabin for spring break with my college friends. The owner was in Cuba when we were checking in and so we were left to figure it out ourselves. Then our booking confirmation was misleading and the communication between the owner and the guests was not good. Then we were blamed for breaking the hot tub, which was not the case. We were charged an additional fee during the confrontation of our confusion of a double booking which was ridiculous. We enjoyed our trip for the fact that we weren't in school but we will not stay here again. I do not recommend booking this listing.

    Erin2017-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at this house with 4 other girls for a weekend. The house and host were great! There was plenty of room for all of us and they even brought in extra beds so everyone had one. The kitchen had everything we needed and we used the grill as well. The hot tub was a wonderful bonus too. The views around the house are beautiful. We did some walking and were even joined by our host's sweet dog! We were about 20-30 minutes from downtown Santa Fe. My friends and I really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this rental!

    Sarah2016-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • Nice quiet location, not far from any mountain you want to ski. Very comfortable and Parmatma is very helpful with anything you need. The hot tub was great for out post skiing aches and pains.

  • We really enjoyed pur stay. Centrally located between Santa Fe and Los Alamos, the location was perfect for us. Beautiful hills to walk in and a nice hot tub to soak in. Parmatma was very friendly and helpful.

Camper in Santa Cruz, for the frugal traveler. It has light, electricity, and small refrigerator. Travelers will have access to well water and a shared bathroom in the trailer next door. Travelers need to bring their own supplies, blankets, towels, etc. The camper has a nice temperature for someone who is used to camping. The Santuario and Rancho De Chimayo is about 5mi away. It is between Santa Fe and Taos. Close to 5 Casinos. Fishing at Santa Cruz Lake, and rivers nearby.
A nice place for people used to rural or country living. Not fancy but comfortable. Very quiet and near a stream that has natural bird wildlife. There is sometimes a wandering horse or cow in the yard. Good place to rest and get ready to travel
The neighborhood is a Historic Community and is quiet for the most part.

Pojoaque, Santa Fe County, 25 minutes north of The City of Santa Fe, on US 84/285, in the Rio Grande Valley. In the sticks. It sleeps two, in king size bed, + one, in a single bed in an adjacent bedroom. Bathroom with shower/tub and endless hot water. Kitchen with pots & pans. Wifi, AppleTV, and sound. A great spot for visiting Santa Fe, Los Alamos, Taos, Bandelier, and Abiquiu.
800 square feet. Adobe structure. It was the old family house. Mostly quiet, although you will hear distant traffic and dogs barking or coyotes howling at night. Last property on a private road, so there is no through traffic.
Pojoaque is an Indian reservation - 15 miles north of Santa Fe, and the Pojoaque Pueblo has their tribal headquarter here, as well as grocery store, casinos, restaurants, gallery and golf courses. This is in the country, and there is livestock around. It takes 25 minutes to drive to Santa Fe, 25 minutes to Los Alamos and about one hour to Taos. If you have not been to New Mexico, this is a great spot. If you have been to New Mexico before, I think you will feel at home.
  • What a wonderful experience at this beautiful casita outside of Santa Fe!! Knut was warm and welcoming, we enjoyed fresh eggs and a wonderful breakfast along side his chickens each morning. We had easy access to downtown Santa Fe as well as some of the other attractions the region had to offer. This was a fantastic weekend, we will be sure to be back'

  • Want to get more than you expect in value, clean and super attention to little details, then stay and enjoy.

    Terry2017-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • When you are greeted with a warm smile and hello, fresh baked bread and fresh chicken eggs you know you are in for a wonderful stay. The pictures of the accommodations don't do Knut's place justice. The location is ideal for exploring; whether into Santa Fe, up to Taos, or into the many mountain natural and historic areas. Breakfast on the patio with friendly Chaco the dog is a treat as is late afternoon relaxation with the girls [chickens]. We can't say enough about Knut's helpfulness, suggestions for interesting day trips, and general knowledge of the area. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

    Tescia2017-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Knut made us feel extremely welcome. From the very beginning, he was quick to respond to messages and was very friendly and amenable. The guest house was even better than the listing! It's a beautiful space with plenty of room in its 2 bedrooms, living room, full kitchen and bathroom. The area was quiet, had a very pretty view from the guest house patio, and only about a 20 minute drive from downtown Santa Fe. This is a very reasonably priced rental; definitely worth it. We would stay in Knut's guest house again on any future trips to the area!

    Brian2016-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Knut's place is charming and secluded but close to Santa Fe. I could live in his little casita. It was perfect.

  • My daughter and I needed a last minute place to stay, and this cute casita was the perfect fit. Our stay was nothing but perfect. The shower is amazing and the kitchen is fully equipped! The bed was firm and the both of us felt safe and secure. I would recommend this casita to someone who enjoys a secluded dwelling about 20 minutes from the heart of Santa Fe. Would go again!

  • Located north of Santa Fe, Casa Bonita is nestled in the quiet hills just off the major route into Santa Fe, with simple access. The minute you see the garden, you know you are in the hands of someone who cares about things and knows how to make a place welcoming...super-clean, a comfy bed, great wifi connection even in the hills, a kitchen with all you need, and most of all, Margeaux's warm hospitality. A lovely, peaceful and restorative stop near the bustle of the city but not touched by it.

    Tenzin2017-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful home away from home. The bed was super comfy and the neighborhood is really quiet. Both result in a great night's sleep. The location was ideal while I explored Ghost Ranch and the mineral springs at Ojo Caliente.

    Nancy Rae2017-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a really cute and peaceful place at a great value. Margeaux's communication was great and we had everything we needed. It's in a beautiful location, close to the things we wanted to see and do in Chimayo.

  • Cary's Pool House Casita was so comfy and a pleasure to stay in for the week I was in Santa Fe.

  • Visited Santuario de Chimayo and this was the perfect location! Host responded almost instantly and was extremely accommodating! I appreciated the history behind the property. Thank you!

    Anjelique2018-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Cary gave excellent suggestions on restaurants and activities, she obviously knows the area well. Upon arriving the casita had a strong sewer odor, which I quickly realized was due to the water. Even when not using the water, the bathroom had a constant stench of sewage. I stayed for 3 nights. The first night the water stopped working so I had no water access and the toilet didn't work for a day. When the water did come back on, it smelled so bad I couldn't use it (I brushed my teeth with bottled water and did not shower for 3 days). I suggest bringing hand sanitizer and baby wipes... there were also a lot of bugs- spiders, beetles, and other crawlers. Somewhat expected with ranch living, but they were crawling out of the sink and all over the walls. The AC did not work right but was fixed after I said something. Cary was responsive to repairs and always accessible, which I appreciated, but the stay was not comfortable and the water (smell, and not working for a day) was a huge problem. The bed is small and soft.. not comfortable to me and not very sturdy. I was afraid it was going to break. Wouldn't recommend for 2 people, small space and bed. Would be fine if you can handle bugs and bad smells.

    Abby2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Cary's little casita was quiet, cozy, and comfortable. There is a small kitchen that was just right for meals when we didn't want to go into Santa Fe. Cary's father was on property and welcomed us warmly, answering questions and provided suggestions for interesting day trips. There is a small Weber grill which we enjoyed one evening grilling our steaks. Cary was very helpful over the phone with a last minute change in our plans. I would highly recommend this place for couples. It's so romantic!

    Cathy2017-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • The small casita is just perfect for two people. We were quite charmed by the original brick and tile floors, the adobe structure, darling swooping love seat giving the room so much character and little touches like the authentic New Mexican metal ceiling light fixture above the bed and artwork looking like family heirlooms. Beautiful picture windows close to the foot of the bed display a vista into the forest like wilderness displaying a gigantic cotton tree. Cary is a delight and easy to communicate with. Only 18 minutes away from the Santa Fe Plaza, it was fun to get out of the city and feel the country. We would definitely stay here again!

  • Use caution

    Deborah2018-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Cary's place is a perfect stop if you're headed up to northern NM. I love that it's private yet easily accessible. Her place is super clean and very inviting with huge windows facing some cottonwood trees. We were pleasantly surprised to see a full kitchen with a gas stove and refrigerator. We were able to store some food over night, make coffee, and have breakfast. Definitely our first choice next time we are in that area again.

    Ivette2017-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great little casita with huge cottonwood trees on the property. We got in late and left early but had a great nights sleep and a good cup of coffee!

Guest House on property including weaving studio and adobe works. Large and comfortable place for exploring Northern New Mexico. Pet friendly but do be aware that we have a large dog who will herd you in and out of the drive, depending how active he's feeling; anyway he'll make a lot of noise. This is not a place for people who are uncomfortable with dogs.
Guest house in a traditional village and weaving studio, north of Santa Fe, next to the historic town of Chimayo. Handy for visiting northern New Mexico and good for families and small groups. 900 sq.ft. guest house is set up studio style with double bed,and single bed. There is a semi attached back bedroom with 2 single beds and half bath; for which the extra per person charge applies. James office is also attached divided from studio by a door, stairs and another door. Beds are homemade with foam mattresses and mattress pads. Kitchen has electric burners, microwave, toaster oven, refrigerator and all cooking and eating utensils. Barbeque grill also available. Kitchen ceiling is low upon entering but rises as you move into the space. Satellite TV, DVD player, and wi-fi. This is a rural service area so wi-fi can be slow. Washer/dryer. Board games, wide variety of reading material and electric piano. Eclectic decor with Leigh's weaving and various African arts and crafts from our occasional African vendors. Leigh has a weaving studio with 3 looms. There are 2 large dogs who will herd you in and out the drive and 1 cat,. Ocho Guest House is 20 miles north of Santa Fe, 5 miles south of Espanola , 45 miles south of Taos and 20 miles east of Abiquiu. Grocery stores and restaurants are 10 minutes away, including one of the best traditional New Mexican restaurants. The Santa Cruz river and BLM land for walking/running is at the end of the road. We also now have a portable swamp cooler.
La Puebla is an area that has mostly been considered an outlying neighborhood of the village of Chimayo. It now pretty much serves as a mixed residential area where people work in Santa Fe, Espanola, and Los Alamos. There still exists some farming.
  • We were made to feel totally welcome. The area was very rustic, rural New Mexico, and close to all the places we wanted to visit. We had everything we needed for making meals and had a relaxing stay. The décor was filled with beautiful and eclectic art and decorative items, as well as shelves full of books, etc. We would definitely stay here again when visiting this area.

    Mary2015-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this place. Felt like being back in the New Mexico I remember when I first got here in 1978. Leigh and James were great hosts with a fascinating history and a great collection of interesting items in the cabin. And my dogs had fun as well. Will definitely go back when I need a break from Santa Fe.

    Caroline2016-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Leigh was a great host, welcoming us warmly to her studio, which was well appointed and spacious. The bed was comfy, the towels fluffy, there was plenty of hot water, and we found freshly ground coffee and milk, along with apples and some breakfast cereals to help manage our glucose levels. Beware the low doorway opening to the bathroom. Though it is well-marked with warning signs, it can surprise you when the light is low. Also, there are many shelves full of a huge range of books if you are so interested.

    Ford2013-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Although the outside of this place is very rustic, the inside is beautiful and tranquil. A few hours here and you will feel peace seeping into your bones.

    Anita2016-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • What a unique and beautiful place! A very rural setting that is peaceful and relaxing. Awake to neighborhood roosters crowing. Walk to the nearby Santa Cruz River in minutes. Listen to distant howls from coyotes in the evening. The home is very different and eclectic. Everything you need is provided. The beds are comfortable. Leigh is attentive and communicates well. The price is very reasonable. You must experience this Airbnb to fully appreciate its value.

    Ho Mei2018-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • We liked Leigh (whose weaving is beautiful) and James quite a bit, but the place was too funky for us. It's ok inside (homemade bed very comfortable) with anything you need, though the kitchen wiring made us leery. And if heavy rains are predicted for your stay, be prepared for a leaking roof, which occurred one night when we were there, and which drove us out a day early. Leigh was very accommodating when that happened.

    Joan2017-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Ok

    Claudio2018-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Pros: Beautiful space, nice amenities, privacy, and convenient access to Espanola and Santa Fe. Cons: Dogs (they are harmless, just rambunctious) and lack of phone service. Otherwise, it was a cozy and pleasant stay.

The Courtyard casita is the third casita to open on our family ranch. Originally our family library office it's loaded with shelves and charm-- including an original kiva fireplace, comfortable queen bed, smart TV and small, but new, bathroom. It has a hotel kitchen, microwave, coffee and fridge and plenty of wood for the fireplace. Private entrance, easy parking. To see the other casitas on the ranch search for Casita Pojoaque and Family Casita Pojoaque.
Guests can explore the ranch from the doggy corral to the hundred year old barns and fields.
Just minutes from Cities if Gold and Buffalo Thunder resorts and fifteen minutes to the center of Santa Fe or Los Alamos. Also there’s a lovely winery just down the road and a couple great choices for New Mexico cuisine including El Parasol and Gabriel’s. My son would like me to add Dairy Queen.
  • Secluded adobe casita 15-20 minutes from downtown Santa Fe. Pictures don't do this place justice! It has a lot of rustic, native charm along with modern amenities that make it even more comfortable. Great book selection on the shelves and beautiful decorations all around. We loved our little retreat here!

    Avrielle2018-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • The casita was a home away from home, and Cary was a thoughtful host. The ranch compound was peaceful and beautiful, and the perfect spot for my day trips both south to Santa Fe and north to Abiquiu. It was a winter stay and sitting in front of the fire in the kiva fire place at night was lovely.

    Anice2018-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. The grounds are great to walk around. Small room but quaint. Host left firewood and place was very clean.

  • Quiet, peaceful, and serene. If these aspects are what you’re looking for in your stay, then this is most definitely the place to book! We absolutely loved the property and will be coming back for another stay. Also, Cary is a wonderful host! The amenities provided were above and beyond.

15 miles north of Santa Fe. Lots of space and privacy. Full kitchen. Sleeps four people. In the country on a 4.3-acre lot. A good starting point if you want to visit Santa Fe, Taos, Los Alamos, Abiquiu, and Bandelier. It takes about 20 minutes to drive to the City of Santa Fe.
Family adobe house. Living room with TV and sound. Kitchen with enough space to sit down and eat. In a rural setting so there may be dust and prickly stuff, mostly outside. You will sometimes hear dogs barking or coyotes howling in the night or faint traffic but for the most part, it is quiet. In the sticks, 20 minutes from City of Santa Fe - or Los Alamos, or an hour to Taos.
Pojoaque is an Indian reservation 15 miles north of Santa Fe - in the Santa Fe County. It is in the Rio Grande Valley. In the center of Pojoaque, you will find a grocery store and restaurants as well as shops and a gallery. About 2 miles from the Buffalo Thunder Resort where there are restaurants, golf, and gambling.
  • Centrally located with easy access to Santa Fe, Taos, Bandolier, etc. The house was great and having coffee and a washer and dryer was fantastic.

  • If your looking to get away from it all and appreciate quietness, beauty, & nature...this is your go to spot. Would highly recommend and would definitely go back.

  • We visited New Mexico to see our daughter who just recently moved there. This was our first airbnb experience and we couldn't have been happier with it. Our host was absolutely wonderful. We came in late with our daughter, who spent the week with us, and our host had the house well lit inside and out waiting for us. He even had muffins, jelly, juice and milk in the frig which was a treat for our breakfast, especially since we didn't have time to shop beforehand. The home is lovely, spacious and immaculate. We cooked at home some of the nights and it was nice to have a washer and dryer. The location was good for us as we wanted to visit Santa Fe and Taos so we were right in between. Our host texted us to pass on information such as to be careful driving from the airport late at night with the recent snow and ice. He made himself available to help in any way needed. We even got to hear some coyotes howling at night! We would definitely recommend this place!

  • Not only is this space the perfect distance from any "spot" you intend to visit while in the area- it is spectacular. I enjoyed daydreaming out of the sunny windows as well as staring up at the night sky on a lovely back patio. Immaculate kitchen loaded with anything you may possibly need- whether for a feast or quick bite to eat. Be prepared to enjoy Knut's homemade rolls and fresh eggs- all prepared and gathered

    Michelle2017-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • An excellent off the beaten path Air B&B to stay in while exploring the area. Delicious rolls and fresh yard eggs for breakfast provided by the host. As well as a genuine interest in making the stay as best as possible. I highly recommend this Air B &B.

    James2017-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Other guests of Knut's raved about his airbnb and we found everything they said to be true! This is what my family and I thought about his place: 1."The beds and bedding was wonderful, I felt like I had been sleeping in/on a cloud and the room itself was filled with enticing art. The whole house was filled with unique surprises" 2."I love all the stone work throughout the house. It is very lovely place to stay. The chickens and geese are wonderful to see." 3."Superlative, well kept and comfortable. Excellent airbnb." 4."I love this house in the country, the breeze in the cottonwoods, and the smell of the Russian olive trees, the fresh free-range eggs that Knut brought us. I like the stonework and the hand plastered walls. All the house is richly appointed. Great setup!" 5." A very beautiful space, the bed was so comfortable and the beds/bedding and woodwork reminded me so much of Europe! I really appreciated the artwork especially the bronze sculptures! Knut had fresh poppy-seed rolls for us as well as fresh eggs, orange juice, milk, half and half and coffee beans. We are alrady planning our next trip to stay at Knut's place!!"

For over 400 years our family has called this exquisite locale home and we are happy to open our doors to guests. Located in the majestic hills of Chimayo, El Rincon Farm is an oasis tucked away amongst the piñon trees and sandstone formations of the mountainous desert that surround it. Available for rent is the "Avelino Studio", a charming place to lay your head, cook a meal, read a book while staring at the fire, or take a hot shower after a long day's hike.
Built as an addition to the main late-1700's adobe house, this spacious Studio features high vaulted ceilings, working fireplace, loft with a queen-sized bed, queen-sized pullout couch, and fully equipped kitchen as well as massage studio separated from the main living area by a divider. (Massage is offered to guests upon request. Please see below.)
El Rincon - Spanish for The Hollow - is rural and quiet. We're located minutes away from El Santuario de Chimayo, a pilgrimage site world known for its healing dirt; Rancho de Chimayo, a James Beard award-winning restaurant and the Ortega and Trujillo Weaving Shops. We're on the High Road to Taos Scenic byway, offering stunning views of high mountain country and quaint villages nestled in the Rocky Mountains of Northern New Mexico. Sipapu, Santa Fe, and Taos ski resorts are within reasonable driving distance.

Host (and family) was super helpful upfront and available if needed, but left me alone otherwise, which I appreciated.

A local restaurant provides a culinary destination for fine New Mexican cuisine. And Marisela is a wonderful hostess. Can't wait to return to Chimayo and her country place!

Warm weather has arrived in Northern New Mexico, bringing endless opportunities to enjoy our beautiful canyons, rivers, mountains and unique communities. From Lyden you will be only a stone’s throw away from a multitude of attractions and activities: national monuments, modern-day Pueblo communities, Georgia O’Keefe’s home, Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs, Rio Grande and Chama rivers, hiking/biking trails, birding hotspots and local restaurants. Check out "The Neighborhood" for more on this area!
The kitchen has all the utensils you might need to prepare your own meals. If you can’t find something you need, I’m happy to lend anything from my kitchen. Please wash the dishes and leave the kitchen as you found it. The tap water in the casita comes directly from my deep well. It is pure and fabulous. Guests will find a pitcher of cold water in the refrigerator and may snip a sprig of mint just outside the door much of the year to enjoy with it. There are two friendly dogs and three cats on the property. They may come around to see you, but please, don’t let them into the casita. Some guests may be allergic. Please hang your wet towels on the hooks in the bathroom.
Located in Lyden, New Mexico, a traditional community along the Rio Grande, this beautifully restored adobe casita offers unique access to some of the hidden wonders of Northern New Mexico. Casita del Bosque is a quiet getaway halfway between the must-see attractions of Santa Fe and Taos and just a scenic drive away from the Georgia O’Keefe attractions at Abiquiu and Ghost Ranch. The casita is part of a two-hundred-year old adobe house that shares a wall with a capilla, San Jose del Bosque, a small chapel built to serve the early Spanish settlers of the village of Lyden, formerly known as El Bosque (The Woods). Restored in 2007 to reflect its early New Mexico beginnings, the casita has ceilings of vigas and split cedar latillas and brick floors. The kitchen is fully equipped for those who wish to prepare meals. Guests will find an assortment of breakfast foods for them to prepare as well as coffee and a variety of teas. Casita del Bosque sits at the base of the massive Mesa Prieta, which harbors tens-of-thousands of petroglyphs dating from the very earliest inhabitants of this region. Adventurous visitors who hike up its rocky slopes gain a spectacular view of the valley below and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains beyond. They may even experience the thrill of encountering ancient petroglyphs along the way. For a more choreographed experience on the mesa, the Wells Petroglyph Preserve, less than a mile away, boasts the largest array of flute player petroglyphs ever recorded. The Preserve offers private as well as group tours that can be arranged in advance. Just a few miles to the south are the Pueblos of Ohkay Owingeh and Santa Clara, where practicing traditional Native American artists offer their sought-after artwork for sale. If the timing of your visit is right, you may have the privilege of experiencing a Pueblo feast day with traditional dances that are open to the public. In addition, both Pueblos operate thriving casinos for more modern entertainment options. A short drive away, the town of Española offers an appealing array of restaurants, many featuring traditional Northern New Mexican cuisine. While in town, stop by the visitors’ center and enjoy the gallery and gift shop operated by the Northern New Mexico Regional Arts Center at the Plaza de Española. A few minutes outside of Española is the beautiful Santa Cruz church where you can see many lovingly restored retablos and paintings that are precious to this vibrant church community. Fifteen minutes to the north of Lyden is Dixon, a tiny town known for arts and crafts, its thriving theatre scene, its wineries and its award-winning community library. Just beyond Dixon at the village of Pilar, is Orilla Verde National Recreation Area, the southernmost extension of one of our newest national monuments, Rio Grande del Norte National Monument. The road through Orilla Verde winds along the Rio Grande providing birders and fishers a unique opportunity to enjoy their favorite pastimes. Alert visitors may spot Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep along the canyon walls. The famed High Road to Taos may be accessed through Española. Once you turn east, you will find yourself winding through beautiful New Mexico mountain villages including Chimayò, famed for its weavers and home to Rancho de Chimayò, a favorite restaurant with locals and visitors. As you travel the High Road, you will be awed by the beauty of Truchas, nestled in the Sangre de Cristo range of the Rocky Mountains at 8,000 feet. Here you turn north, passing through several small villages. At Las Trampas take time to visit the San José de Gracia Church, a designated National Historic Landmark. As you leave Las Trampas, look carefully to the east to see an ancient aqueduct made of hollowed-out logs that still brings water from a mountain spring to irrigate the fields below. No matter which direction you explore from Casita del Bosque, you will find endless opportunities to indulge your fancies, whether they lean toward hiking, biking, skiing, birding, fishing, water sports, photography, visiting with artisans in their studios and galleries or enjoying a scrumptious meal. Your time at Casita del Bosque will provide a memorable experience, one that you won’t find in a city or a hotel. Reserve today! The Casita del Bosque Guidebook provides you with contact information, including web pages, for the sites mentioned as well as many others in Northern New Mexico.
  • Mary's place was perfect. A great launching off spot to see the area, from Georgia O'Keeffe country out at Ghost Ranch, to Ojo Caliente and out to Taos. The casita is comfortable and sweet, with that exceptional big window opening to a fabulous view of the mountains and the morning sun. Plus, great star viewing in the evening!

  • Casita del Bosque is perfectly situated for immersing yourself in the High Country of New Mexico. Lovely country roads will take you to Taos, Santa Fe, Ojo Caliente, Abiuqu, and more, in 30 min or so. The casita is perfect, adobe walls with viga & latilla ceilings, ample kitchen space and views of the mountains! The setting is rustic, but that is the real experience. Mary was a delightful host thinking of many tiny details in the casita, and her dogs are friendly and protective. We loved it and will return soon!

    Rebecca2016-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at the casita! Mary has certainly thought of everything -- including freshly baked treats, breakfast supplies, a super-well-stocked kitchen, and all sorts of necessities. We slept so well at night with windows open in the quiet countryside! The location worked well for us, as we visited Santa Fe one day and Taos another. Thanks, Mary!!!

  • Casita Del Bosque is an amazing secluded getaway located in the middle of some amazing and vast open spaces and mesas. Was a bit difficult to find (also was raining and the dirt road to the property was a bit slippery so I was focused on that) but once we arrived we had no desire to leave. The Casita is quite large, kitchen is well stocked, and there is plenty of furniture to lounge anywhere you want inside or out. When we arrived there were fresh cookies and some banana-peach-walnut bread, which was a wonderful treat. The two dogs are incredibly friendly, and were wonderful guides during hikes near the house. Mary is very communicative, and has a wealth of information about what to do nearby. Also make sure to read the "Life On The Rocks" book in the room about the incredible petroglyphs located on the Mesa behind the property.

    Matthew2017-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • The Casita was very clean and well stocked. A little off the beaten path but what a great view and host!

    Charlie2018-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Mary was the perfect host. She's thought of everything you need and more for your stay at her casita. She was friendly and approachable if we had questions, but also allowed us our privacy - perfect balance! We enjoyed exploring the mesa behind the house, guided by her dogs Molasses and Tatu. The picture window by the bed was the perfect place to watch wildlife like birds and rabbits, the night stars and a thunder storm roll across the river valley. Coming home to a cold pitcher of water with fresh picked mint she'd left for us was the best refreshment at the end of a hot day in the desert. Thanks Mary!

    Annie2017-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Mary is an exceptional host and went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable. She was down with the flu when we arrived, but that didn't stop her from leaving a sweet note of apology and offering whatever we needed during our stay. The house is beautiful; so cozy and a wonderful retreat for star gazing and watching the sunrise. Best of all were Mary's sweet pups, Molasses and Tatu, who played with my 2 sons and happily traipsed up the mesas with us. We will definitely return when coming back to the Land of Enchantment.

    Sheila2017-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Mary's lovingly built casita has a warm, inviting atmosphere. From the detailed binder of all the information travelers could ever ask for, to her in person, accommodating suggestions and overall presence, Mary exemplifies what it means to be a "super host".

Just 20 minutes from the historic plaza in the heart of Santa Fe lies a charming Mews cottage. Approached by a private lane surrounded by magnificent Cottonwood trees lies your sanctuary of serenity. Vega's and a Kiva fireplace await your arrival.
  • Really enjoyed our stay here! Perfect little casita tucked away in the Nambe Valley. Host was super responsive to all our needs. Thanks Jack!

  • Enjoyed our stay at the casita! Nice getaway outside of Santa Fe.

    Trevor2017-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second visit to Jack place. Spending time under these gorgeous cottonwoods is a treat. After the hustle and bustle surrounding Santa Fe this is peaceful and lovely. We love it here!

    Joanna2018-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • The home was cozy and the fireplace a perfect, romantic touch. Jack had everything provided to make the experience personal with beer, wine and even hot chocolate. It was far enough from downtown to be quiet but close enough to run into town to grab a bite to eat. We were overall very happen with the home and will be back!

    Lisa2016-12-29T00:00:00Z

We are situated just 30 minutes north of downtown Santa Fe, with views of both the Sangre de Cristos and the Jemez Mountain ranges. There are miles and miles of walking trails all around, and our property (7 acres) borders the Pojoaque River. It is a quiet and peaceful setting, wonderful for enjoying the majesty of northern New Mexico. We are convenient to Los Alamos, Bandelier National Park, San Ildefonso Pueblo, the Santa Fe Opera, Chimayo, Taos, Georgia O'Keeffe's Ghost Ranch and Abiquiu.
  • Beautiful home in a beautiful area. Great place to relax and go for walks where you will have no problems seeing the vast, clear sky and lots of stars at night. Merrimon and Tom were welcoming and gracious hosts. The place is beautiful and comfortable, with lots of privacy. It's worth a stay! Highly recommended!!

    Dennis2016-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place is so cute! Completely redone in a very cool way--stained and polished concrete floors, beamed ceiling, concrete countertops, open and airy with cool art painted by the owner! Larger by about 50% over your typical hotel room with a walkout patio into a really cute garden and parking right outside the front door. Completely furnished with dishes and a microwave as well as a fridge that's small but bigger than your typical hotel fridge. You can tell the owners have skill and style because they remodeled it so well and decorated it so nicely. The directions that were given to us sounded complicated but really were very easy if you followed them step by step and the location was cool, too-- about half an hour from Santa Fe, about 20 min. from the Puye Cliffs visitor center (10 min. from welcome center) and about 25 min. to White Rock/Bandelier. The stars at night were awesome and you can see two mountain ranges from the house. Would definitely stay there again if it was just two of us--it's not big enough for more than two plus maybe a small child--there is a full or maybe a queen sized bed and a leather couch and concrete floors.

    Jeanne2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay, would highly recommend to anyone wanting to get away while also being near to the city. It's the perfect combination for that kind of trip.

    Chelsea2017-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Merrimon was an excellent host and we thoroughly enjoyed stopping and staying in the apartment on our drive back to Texas. It proved to be a spacious, peaceful, and lovely location. Would recommend!

    Carly2017-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Merrimon and husband are great hosts! They are very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. Their place is warm and very relaxing. The bed was very comfortable. I wish we could have stayed longer. Took a nice walk among the cottonwood trees before sunset and viewed the milkyway. Great views of the mountains.

    Sharon2016-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • When does 1+1=3?? When staying here. The clean thoughtful accommodations combined with beautiful art and a picturesque views. You won't be disappointed.

    John2017-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely LOVED Merrimon's place. Both she and Tom were super friendly, the directions were easy and they provided hiking trail suggestions for us. The apartment is spotless and their art and design is beautiful. We wish we were able to stay longer. The place and location is a true oasis. We watched the sun set and rise.

    Alicia2016-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Merrimon was communicative and very helpful from the moment we made our reservation. The space and the area around it captures the magical allure of the desert near Santa Fe, including an adorable dog companion to guide you on your wanderings and protect you from bunnies. We had a wonderful stay and would love to go back for a longer stay!

Our 'Adobe del Cerro Loft' is a lovely home on the 2nd story (which may not be convenient for "older travelers") of the historic Rancho Manzana, located on the Plaza del Cerro, in Chimayo. Breathtaking views, spacious living space, one bedroom with additional sleeping loft, den and open kitchen plan. Private and cozy.
This unique space has high ceilings with a grand open floor plan filled with the warm New Mexico light, overlooking the historic Plaza del Cerro. It is fully furnished with Taos hand-crafted furniture in the living room, upholstered in an animal themed patterned fabric from the Museum of New Mexico. There is a full kitchen, washer and dryer, claw foot bathtub and a large walk in shower. The bedrooms all have 100% cotton bedding. The bedroom has a queen size bed with a large closet, the den/bedroom and the loft, both have full size beds. The loft is excellent for youthful travelers, not suited for older travelers and no children under the age of 12 years. WiFi is provided as well as a large screen for watching Netflix and Amazon movies: television reception is not provided. To preserve our beautiful cherry wood floors, we request that our guests remove their shoes when inside the house. Walking distance to the Santuario de Chimayo and world famous Rancho de Chimayo Restaurant. This unique space has unusually high ceilings with grand open spaces full of light. The bedroom has features not usually found in an old adobe. The light filters through shutters with a clawfoot bathtub in the bedroom, romantically located under a window with the flowering catalpa tree right outside for your evening soak. The bathroom has an extra large shower and a washer and dryer. Radiant heat in the winter and AC in the summer. The den has a comfy double size futon with flat screen TV for watching NetFlix, Amazon, or sleeping. The sleeping loft overlooks the living space and is generously furnished with a double bed. Come and enjoy the historic feeling of staying in an old adobe with all the comforts of home. Sleeps 3 couples comfortably or a family of 4-5 mix of kids and adults. We have plenty of parking and can safely store your bicycles or other valued possessions while you are out exploring the vast country side.
This beautifully appointed home is located on the historic Plaza del Cerro in Chimayo, New Mexico. The building dates from the mid-1700's, a time when Northern New Mexico was still largely unsettled. It was the Ortega family residence and housed the original post office and mercantile store, serving the Chimayo community until the 1950's. Great care has been taken in the on-going restoration process, insuring a relaxing, hospitable retreat. A 30-minute drive from Santa Fe takes you to a tranquil, timeless rural paradise. Leaving the main highway, you'll pass through the rural community of Nambe, the Nambe Pueblo and the red sandstone "badlands." The light is magical, and the setting is in many ways unchanged from centuries past, as you head toward the cluster of trees and adobe houses that is Chimayo. (Suggested reading: Sabino's Map - Life in Chimayo's Old Plaza by Don Usner, Museum of New Mexico Press). The rural location is within easy driving distance of a number of tourist destinations: Bandelier National Monument, shopping in Santa Fe, the Santa Fe Opera, the High Road to Taos and Northern Villages, Abiquiu and Chama River environs, river rafting, as well as the famous Santuario de Chimayo and traditional weavers in the village. During the winter months skiing under the brilliant blue skies in New Mexico is exceptional. Take advantage of cross country trails nearby and ski the slopes of the Taos Ski Valley, Sipapu and Santa Fe Ski Basin, all within 1 - 1 1/2 hour drive from here.
  • Jody and the apartment were both fantastic. The property is eclectic and fun. The apartment is in a 300 year old building, and is beautifully renovated and decorated. Jody was the perfect host, offering the right amount of privacy, while being available to answer questions and make suggestions. The property has gardens, apple orchards, a small pond/pool, a gorgeous outdoor kitchen, and access to views and the historic town plaza. There is a fantastic restaurant within walking distance. I would make a trip out here again simply to have more R&R time at Jody's retreat.

    Judi2016-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Jody’s place was just the getaway we needed...very warm and welcoming. It was so nice to come home everyday to such a cozy and clean space. Ambience, style and quality!

  • This place was perfect! My husband booked it as a surprise for a girls weekend get away! It is in beautiful Chimayo, NM. Peaceful property with Apple trees, sunflowers and a creek. The house was very tastefully decorated!! Jody was absolutely amazing! We got arriverd about 7:00pm and she was so nice to call the local restaurant for reservations (which was super yummy!) She had items stocked for a simple but filling breakfast. Plenty of coffee available. The beds were comfortable and we slept to the sounds of nature outside our window. It was heaven! Thank you Jody for your hospitality and letting us into your home! We hope to return! Miri Cook

This is a large elegant traditional adobe. It's a guest wing to a family home on a private dog friendly ranch. It offers a private separate entrance. This is a real adobe with thick walls that keep it cool in the summer and provide old world charm. It has two original fireplaces, one in the eat-in kitchen, and one in the main room. There is a beautiful hand painted king sized bed and a Euro Lounger. Easy access to Santa Fe, Los Alamos, Taos, Bandelier.
Very large space (900 plus sq feet) on quiet ranch, easy place to stop with big vehicles and pets. If traveling with friends or if looking for a smaller place also check out The Casita Pojoaque on Airbnb for another casita on the same ranch.
We are very close to Buffalo Thunder resort and casino as well as Gabriel's restaurant which offers authentic New Mexico cuisine and has a fun bar. The ranch setting offers beautiful sunsets, large cottonwood trees and and New Mexico's big skies.
  • Wonderful old Adobe casita, great shower, fresh smelling towels, king size bed was super comfortable. Lots of great furniture.

  • Beautiful and tranquil ranch to stay at. We loved coming to a nice and clean casita after a tiresome road trip. It is very quiet and peaceful. It is decorated very nice. True New Mexican charm! The king size bed was plenty of space and very comfortable. The 16 year old did not fit on the couch that turns into a bed but thankfully there was a huge air mattress we used. It was very comfortable as well! I loved all the little snacks that were provided which was great to have for a 2 year old and 16 year old.

    Sandy2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Cary's place is exactly as described. It is also charming and comfortable. We fell in love with the artistic decor and the history of the place. Though it feels remote, the ranch is very close to the highway. As a matter of fact, there is a street light at the intersection that leads to the ranch. My husband and I were traveling cross country to meet our children for the holidays and needed a place to rest up. We were able to prepare our meals in the kitchen, which had everything we needed. Cary told us about a local market where we found everything we needed. We cannot say enough about our stay.

Welcome to our 4 bedroom light filled farmhouse with gorgeous views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains, Truchas Peak and Baldy peak. We are located 15 minutes to downtown Santa Fe AND Los Alamos, near the Nambé waterfall hike. Be close to it all and yet enjoy the solitude of 2.5 acres with gorgeous cottonwood trees, a hot tub, an orchard, garden and chicken coop for fresh morning eggs! • Sasha gets high marks. The accomodation was exactly as described - a family home full of family things that you get to enjoy when the family is not there. House was clean and neat. Had a little trouble locating the place in the dark - it is down an alley, but that would not be a problem during the day. Bed was comfortable and creaky :-). We did not use the kitchen or other facilities much but everything seemed in great shape and ready to enjoy. We missed a coffee maker in the morning, and there is no microwave, if these things are important to you. Internet speed was fantastic.

Sleep upstairs , bright and sunny, single bed - views of the beautiful Chimayo valley/ Santa Fe mountains. Bird watcher's paradise. Walking available in high desert landscape behind house. Centrally located for driving to Santa fe, Taos, Los Alamos, Espanola.
Enjoy the "big room" - living room/kitchen, the peaceful outdoors, or the private spaces upstairs. wood stove in the winter, adobe coolness in the summer.
Plenty of large cottonwood trees that entice small and large birds, nesting nearby and migrating.
  • For my vacation, I was craving a remote relaxing getaway and proximity to the Northern New Mexico landscape. Robin provided a wonderful experience and she even taught me how to get off the beaten path and take some different roads between Abiqui, Taos, and Santa Fe. There are hot springs, sanctuaries, art galleries, breathtaking rock formations, history, and culture all over the area. A 2 hour drive can get you to see so much! I drove all to way to the Rio Grande! The bed was comfy and the window view was fantastic. Sunny and picturesque. Robin showed me the path on the back of her little village, and I spent a morning hiking and taking photos in the desert. The trail goes on forever :) There is so much to see!! Breakfast and coffee were great and she told me about local cuisine and the best places to get food. I helped a little in her garden and I learned about the irrigation systems. Robin has a rich experience to share, as she has traveled the world and knows a lot about world culture and the history of Chimayo. Her art and creativity are apparent in ever nook and cranny of her wood filled Adobe. Check out her weaving! If I go back to the area, I will definitely be looking to stay with her, and I'd love to take a friend and share the experience. Thank you Robin for one of my best trips!

    Melissa2016-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • Robin was warm and down-to-earth. She's full of fascinating stories too! No one else was staying while I was there so I had the upstairs to myself unless Robin went up to weave! My room was clean and warm with lots of windows to enjoy the country setting. It took me a bit to figure out the way there but once I did, I discovered it was based in a perfect area from which to explore different places! I would stay again for sure!

    Isela2018-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • I am sorry for not being able to stay longer at Robin's house. Robin is very nice, friendly and tries her best to make me feel at home. The problem is just that I am working in Los Alamos, and the commute costs too much time. Finally, I decide to move out earlier. I really appreciate the understanding of Robin on my decision. I would definitely come back to this place in the future, maybe after my intern. Thank you.

    思农2018-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • Robin house is like a nest ... you are in a wonderful secluded area out side Chimayo, it is like an oasis from the surrounding landscape which is dry and bare as NM just simply is that way. Robin took me out on a hike into the wilderness area from her home and showed me Cathedral Mt. and shared with me some of the lore of the surrounding area. Her home is more like a museum with beauty textiles, pottery, paintings. each day I noticed something new. but it is not at all cluttered. i used this time as retreat into nature and visited Ojo Calienta several times as well as going into Santa Fe, both are just a 40 min drive from Robin's home. hope to visit again next year....

    Rex2016-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • I was welcomed cordially. The room was small but comfortable. The twin bed was adequate. The setting is lovely, the area delightful.

  • Robin is a spectacular host and an amazing woman to talk with... I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and truly felt at home. Next stay I'm going for that walk to the see the canyon!

    Wendy2016-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • The neighborhood is very secluded and if you want to feel like you're getting away from it all (but still a short drive from Santa Fe), this could be the place for you! Robin is very knowledgeable about the area and is happy to guide you in exploring the area!

  • Mary Beth's place is fantastic! Our trip plans were very loose, so when the weather stayed cold, rainy, and gray, we decided to hunker down in the loft and not go anywhere. This turned out to be a great choice since her place is cozy and very well-stocked. We had everything we needed to cook, lounge around, and take a bath. Mary Beth has notes for everything, so we didn't even need to contact her-- though she was readily available to us without being intrusive. We'll be staying here again, it's a gem.

  • Mary Beth did a fantastic job. She communicated clearly about the things we needed to know and left a detailed booklet that answered all our house questions. The location had a beautiful view and the space was amazing. It was even better than the pictures and felt very welcoming.

    Molly2016-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Mary Beth's place is in a nice, quiet location with great views of the mountains around the Rio Grande Valley. Her place is tastefully furnished, a nice roomy studio apartment.

  • Was an easy drive to either Taos or Santa Fe. Edge of town with great view of the mountains as well as lovely sunrise sunset viewing. Had everything we needed and felt very safe and secure.

  • i loved staying at Mary Beth's. the place is beautiful, private, and comfortable. Mary Beth was easy to communicate with and was very accommodating. i would definitely stay here again.

    Tom2017-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at Mary Beth's loft! The loft is beautiful, perfectly clean, and has such a unique design. It's also spacious--even bigger than it looks in the photos--and there are balconies on both ends of the loft to admit light and air. It's also situated in a great location to explore Northern New Mexico--close to Abiquiu, Puye Cliffs, Bandelier Monument, Ojo Caliente, etc. Mary Beth was a friendly, communicative host. We would love to return sometime!

    Erin2016-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed for two nights in Mary Beth's lovely loft. I was in nearby Espanola for business and this listing was ideal. The loft had a well-equipped kitchen, spacious bathroom, cozy living area and extremely comfortable bed. The wifi connection and speed was excellent. There is a washer and dryer available which would be especially convenient for longer stays. There is lots of natural light with beautiful views on two sides of the surrounding mountains. Mary Beth provided excellent and thorough communication ahead of time and has detailed instructions in the loft upon arrival. The loft is separate from the main house on the property and there is ample privacy. Mary Beth was accessible and responsive but not intrusive. The property was extremely quiet - between that and the great bed, I slept great! All one could want in an Airbnb listing.

    Lynne2016-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a place between Santa Fe and Taos, this is the one! Very quiet and secluded neighborhood with amazing mountain views. Beautiful loft and very clean. Mary Beth was extremely accommodating and helpful with any needs and concerns. A great place for a quiet mountain getaway.

I built this house in 2007. It is adobe downstairs and frame construction upstairs. It is spacious and modern with a large and well-equipped kitchen. From here you can drive to Santa Fe in 35 minutes, to Taos in a little over an hour, to Abiquiu in 40 minutes, to Ghost Ranch in 55 minutes, and to Ojo Caliente Mineral Hot Springs in 40 minutes. The Santuario de Chimayo is 15 minutes away and Santa Cruz Lake 20 minutes. There are beautiful hiking trails not far away. See the photos.
There is radiant heat in the downstairs brick floors and the upstairs master bath tile floor. Most of the downstairs walls are adobe mud-plastered. The adobe and high quality windows make it especially quiet. My guests have commented on the special feeling of the home. The upstairs master bedroom is large and the master bathroom has a large tub and concrete counter tops. The kitchen has granite counter tops.
This land has water rights and was sold to me by my Hispanic/Chicano neighbors who are very close friends. They have a horse, cows in winter when not grazing in the mountains, and a large vegetable garden. I hope to expand my vegetable garden this year. I always grow Blue Corn. There is an acequia running along the edge of the property which in the summer carries irrigation water from the nearby Santa Cruz River. Within a half mile there is a trailhead for some wonderful hiking trails. See the photos. There are some neighbors who have dogs. Of all my guests, only one has complained about barking dogs and that was in the summer when the windows are open. Sometimes one can hear coyotes howling. Most of my guests have commented on how quiet and peaceful it is.
  • We so enjoyed our stay at Blue Corn House. The house was everything we could have asked for. Lamar was very accommodating. The location is perfect for exploring the Santa Fe area.

    Sherwin2017-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • The Blue Corn House is such a beautiful, peaceful place! My sister and I were in awe with the beautiful detail of the home. Clearly this home was made with love. The host, Lamar, is kind and helpful. When we got in, he came to meet us to help us… We arrived tired and late :-) it is a wonderful location and such a magical part of New Mexico!

The house is a restored adobe farmhouse with covered porch and private entrances: Two bedrooms available listed separately this bedroom uses bathroom just outside the room that is shared but dedicated to the room. You’ll love our place because of the coziness, common areas and the location which is 30 minutes to Santa Fe and Los Alimos, 40 minutes to Ojo Caliente, 15 minutes to Ghost Ranch and a beautiful hour drive North to Taos, NM.
  • The place could not be any better. The location, right outside the city, with rugged hills on one side that can be seen from my window and Rio Grande not so far away, was perfect. The drive from the house to my work-place (Los Alamos National Laboratory) was phenomenal. The house itself was a renovated Spanish adobe, which is a New Mexico specialty. It was also close to many other interesting places that I could visit during the weekends. The hostess, Ms. Walker was one of the kindest, wisest and gentlest persons I have ever encountered. She has been a social worker all her life and thus is acutely knowledgeable about society in general. I really enjoyed our long discussions about various topics. She also offered to cook for me in exchange for a little extra. And it turns out she is a phenomenal cook. She is especially good with her Indian cuisine. In my five years of stay in the US, I think that was the best tasting food that I ever had. All in all, this was my best experience through Airbnb. Thanks Ms. Walker.

  • This is an amazing place to stay; centrally located to explore Northern New Mexico. The room is cozy and comfortable. What makes this place special is the special hospitality and friendliness of Joan and her son Carson. Our morning and evening chats with Carson and his fiancée made this a remarkable visit; don't miss dinner with them if you can. They take pride in their kitchen creations and offer interesting libations to match, i.e. Carson's special "Bloody Maria's." You come here as a guest...but leave as a friend.

    Jill2018-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Shirley Joan has created a magical space for guests. Partly, her 100+ year-old adobe house has magic of its own. I also think she herself would bring magic to any space. Shirley Joan is kind, flexible, and caring. I came to the Santa Fe area for a week-long retreat that kept me extremely busy, and when I returned to her home at the end of each long day I felt warmly taken care of. She is an excellent cook (she reads Cooks Illustrated, so you know she loves to cook!) and the meals she offers for an additional charge are well worth the price. The bed is very comfortable. The bathroom is spacious. If you like animals, there are a very friendly cat and dog to enjoy, but both are very low-key and I doubt either would bother you if you don't show any interest. I am delighted to highly recommend this bed and breakfast!

    Kathy2018-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Shirley Joan is the sweetest. The house is centrally located and a great "home base" if you want to explore the area. The house was very clean and had a warm feeling to it.

    Leigh2017-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • She was a great host and she was so SWEET!!!! We wouldn't mind go there again!! Thank you, Shirley!! Nancy and Fred from California

  • What a lovely place to stay. The hospitality I received was wonderful and Shirley Joan is a lovely woman. I fell in love with Pfizer the cat, who is the friendliest of creatures. Would love to go back!

    Susannah2018-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • The adobe home is absolutely charming, the rooms are cozy. There is plenty of room in the yard/patio to relax. Joan is a wonderful sweet person. I really enjoyed my stay.

Also have a blender and toaster. -private shaded patio with grill and patio furniture -It is totally private and connected to the main house through a sunroom which has a library of tourist information and storage for all the extras you might need. -ample private parking and a separate dedicated entrance. We live in the other side of the house. This is a working garden in the summer and we are out and about on the lot. You will be welcome to share in any produce of the season. We also maintain greenhouses for winter greens which we will gladly share. The house is passive and active solar with solar electric and solar hot water. Tom works for Positive Energy Solar in Santa Fe and Jan is a certified Permaculturist. We aim for as much sustainability as possible. Chimayo is the home of the Sanctuario most well known for it's Easter pilgramage still practiced by many locals. Pilgrams walk day and night to come to Chimayo for the Easter holiday. The Sanctuario is open for visitors and is still an active congregation. The traditions of Chimayo are still practiced today including the room of blessed healing dirt. You will also find the best vendors of Chimayo authentic chili there and sample it's green and red goodness. Historians credit Chimayo with having the most intact (still lived in) Spanish Colonial Plaza in New Mexico. Many if not most of the residents of Chimayo are descendants of the Spanish settlers from the 1600's. A museum open in the summers next to Ortega's Weaving Shop will explain. Many art galleries and weavers are in Chimayo and the region. There is a wonderful local restaurant with beautiful hillside tables called 'El Rancho de Chimayo' that has great classic northern New Mexico meals. Paradise Pond is perfect for couples looking to get away for a romantic weekend. Additionally artists, writers, photographers and others who want a peaceful and inspiring natural place to work. For the adventurous it's also centrally located for day trips: 35 minutes to Santa Fe, 60 minutes to the Santa Fe Ski Basin, 55 minutes to Taos, 45 minutes to Ojo Caliente Hot Springs, 45 minutes to Abiquiu (and Ghost Ranch) or Bandelier National Park. There are hidden treasures throughout the region and the hosts have a lot of knowledge of some off the beaten path spots to visit. We will help you plan your trips if you need local advice. Many events are also worthwhile such as the Native American Ceremonial Dances, Santa Fe's numerous Markets, the Christmas Eve Canyon Road Walk and many more. So stay and relax or go exploring or both. Either way you will enjoy your stay in beautiful Northern New Mexico.
We love Chimayo. It's an historical village where 90% of the people living here are descendants of the first Spanish settlers in the late 1600's. There is a lot of rural small scale agriculture with their main crops being their Chimayo chile and the native blue corn. The Sanctuario de Chimayo is a major attraction and on Easter week hosts the pilgrimage where thousands of people walk to the Sanctuario. There are also many weavers still working in the old traditions. Also it is in the center of the area which includes Taos, Santa Fe and Los Alamos - everything is less than an hour away.
  • Tom and Jan's casita is absolutely delightful, in every way. Very clean, very comfy, and very restful space for my friend and I to spend several days, exploring the area but also just chatting, relaxing, and catching up on the little patio/terrace (who knew a "mere" pond could provide such beauty and abundance of wildlife, or offer such a peace-giving vista?) And an espresso machine that isn't intimidating! Very highly recommended. Thanks, Jan and Tom. Looking forward to a return trip!

    Elizabeth2018-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • "Paradise pond" was so unique we canceled our other itineraries. Jan and Tom where wonderful in sharing there knowledge of this oasis and there casita was the most comfortable and pleasant stay in our two weeks in the southwest.

    Chauncey2018-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful and peaceful place! Everything about this casita is perfect, from the colorful and comfortable decor to the landscaping and wildlife at Paradise Pond. We felt safe and secure at all times and loved the many critters -- birds, geese, ducks, beavers and yes, the frogs. Well furnished with a huge king bed, kitchen appliances and dishes, internet (better than we expected) and much information about the places to see in the area. Will definitely be back! Thanks, Tom.

    Cynthia2018-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place. Jan and Tom were incredible hosts and listened to our many questions about the area and answered them as best they would. Will definitely be coming back.

    Andrew2018-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, hosts and location. I can only say that I wouldn't consider this place a full home; the owners are sharing the house with you. Another small problem was that I hope they can figure out the WiFi because you only can connect in the living room. Download your movies during the day (it will take ages to download) so you can watch them at night. The rest was as expected and the hosts are wonderfully amicable and helpful.

    Mariano2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing stay! We love how cozy and welcoming the casita feels! It is the perfect location to explore thenorth part, go skiing, national parks... stay in and watch the snow falls in, have a romantic dinner by the fire place with views of the pond, sip on coffee on the covered patio all bundled up We were looking for a romantic home base and it could not have been more perfect. Tom and Jan know the area really well and have a full room of local guides and info. Prompt to respond, wonderful hospitality. We cannot wait to come back!

  • The house was exactly as pictured. Super easy checkin/checkout. It literally could not have been easier. We really enjoyed watching the sunrise up at the gazebo, it was spectacular. Parmatma himself was as nice and helpful as he could be. Overall we had a very nice stay.

    Jonathan2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful home set in the hills with amazing views. Our reservations for our hotel somehow were cancelled when we were only dropping down from 5 to 4 rooms and we needed a place quick to fill in. We were so grateful that our host could accomodate us on such short notice. This was way better than the hotels we had been staying at.

    Janet2016-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • A group of friends and I wanted to stay at a house without the stress of a city and relax for the NYE week, and Parmatma's place was the best choice we could have made in New Mexico. Right from the booking to our check-out, communication with him was smooth and quick. Everything in the Inn itself was as promised and made our stay super convenient. The highlight of the stay was having an opportunity to go to the Gurudhwara service nearby and serve food to the community – something we had never known of or experienced before. It was a pleasant surprise to find the most welcoming people through a fulfilling experience. Totally recommend staying here!

  • The Nectar In & Kokopelli Suite were excellent accommodations for our family. Parmatma was responsive and very available during our week long stay. Access to the BLM land was perfect for our dogs and for us. The is a great space for families, and provides great access to plenty of hiking, National Park attractions, and easy to get to Santa Fe. We highly recommend this location and house for an extended stay.

Located in a green, rural area, an ideal place to relax and enjoy the New Mexico countryside, 20 min drive from/to Santa Fe or Los Alamos. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers and business travelers. Access is granted through an unpaved road crossing a dry arroyo.
The house consists in a living room with a kitchenette, bedroom, bathroom, sun room and a laundry room with washer and dryer. The bed in the bedroom is a queen, and the bathroom is accessible from the main bedroom. The kitchenette offers a fridge, freezer, microwave, pots, pans, cooking appliances including a coffee maker and complimentary coffee, tea and and creamer.
  • Elena and Flavianos guest house is in a very rural area. The house is good but the street appeal is not that great. Wifi is very spoty, but we managed ok. No TV in the apartment, which is no problem for us. Very quiet, and the bed is hard for American standard, but its perfect for us. Elena and Flaviano are very nice host. We checked in at late hour, they prepared the bed and left fruits on the table and eggs in the fridge. We feel very comfortable for one night stay! Thanks Elena & Flaviano!

    Jin2016-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • Overall my husband and I would describe our experience as disappointing. We were looking forward to a comfortable quiet setting outside of Santa Fe and what we found was a quiet place without any comfort. The interior of the space was stark. Overly bright bedroom lighting felt punishing. However, the most agonizing aspect of our stay was the bed. Imagine airline seat cushioning to sleep on over 3 long nights. The couch was of the same hard material and provided neither give nor comfort. The space itself was bright and sunny during the day but no decoration or warmth was added to make it friendly. A hard couch and 1 rug do not make a living room. A wood stove in the corner with no wood or instructions to run was also disappointing. It wouldn't take too much effort to make this place more inviting but as it was when we stayed, we can't recommend it.

  • This home was the perfect location and feel for my little family getaway! The house has a warm feel and located between Santa Fe and Los Alamos it gave us the freedom to explore the whole area! You can stay a few days or a long time with the amenities and kitchen and feel of home. We loved the adobe feel but open living room and sun room this home gave while having privacy. Host communicated very good directions and we were able to find the home easier than expected! We arrived later than we expected and found the couch made down and a warm wuick welcome that made us immediately comfortable here. Will visit again soon!!
