Lugares para alojarse en Fairfield

Lugares para alojarse en Fairfield
Built in the 80's this stone cabin is nestled just above our spring fed hilltop pond at the end of our main mountain road.
This stone solar-powered cabin has a queen bed and a double futon couch that can be pulled out for extra sleeping space. The beds are made and towels are provided. The large deck is perfect for getting a good dose of the outdoors, star gazing and some quality R&R. On the deck is a propane grill, umbrella, table and chairs. This cabin has a stove, basic cooking supplies, tin foil and a rubbermaid tub for washing dishes. Drinking water is provided and there is running water in the nearby composting bathroom for washing dishes. The kitchen is equipped with a french press for coffee (bring pre-ground!), a teapot, mugs, drinking water, utensils, a small pot, skillet, salt/pepper and oil. Unfortunately our solar panels are on the fritz and there is currently no electric in this cabin. We will provide ample battery powered lighting and will keep you updated on the situation should the solar panels be repaired. (Website hidden by Airbnb) PLEASE NOTE -The bathroom is not located in the cabin. Both the bathroom and showers are a few minute walk away on a path through the woods and are located separately. -There is a large sunken bonfire pit located about 200 feet from the cabin. Once you book we ask that you keep us updated on your arrival time so that we can be sure to be ready and waiting for you!   We ask that all guests arrive before dark   Guests arriving after 10pm will be required to pay an additional $20 late check in fee in cash upon arrival. We apologize but we must enforce this even if you are late due to circumstances out of you control. We do not accept check-ins on Tuesday or Wednesday but message us if you want to stay through the week and are having trouble booking. It’s simple living at its best. We're just over one hour from NYC but local folks love us too. We are an easy, inexpensive "staycation" and many use us frequently as their guest "bedroom" when out of town family or friends come. We offer a unique setting for your summer get-a-way or family reunion. There is a communal Rustic Kitchen on the top of the mountain ideally situated between the Pagoda cabin, Mtn. Laurel cabin and Summit cabin. The kitchen has cookware, plates, french press, utensils, a stove, grill, coolers with ice, olive oil, salt/pepper, drinking water and running water! Lighting is limited and provided by LED lanterns - we always encourage people to bring their own additional lighting.  There are three large designated fire pits on the property. Some cabins also have their own fire pits which is noted in their individual descriptions. Fires are not allowed to be made in undesignated places! Only YOU can prevent forest fires!  Fire wood is not available this season so please pre-plan and purchase wood before arriving. Wood can be purchased at many places including Stop and Shop. Please Note per Connecticut state law - firewood cannot be brought in from out of the state.  Upon arrival we will provide you with a map and your own cooler with ice. We ferry our guests and their belongings up to their cabin at check in and upon check out but please remember that during your stay you will be traveling on foot! We cannot allow cars to drive up and down the mountain. At the minimum if you are a large party you can initially drive your car up to unload but will have to park at the base before dark. Please remember this when packing and planning your initial grocery provision trip. Most of the cabins are a 10-25 minute walk through the woods, depending on your speed. We do not allow private cars to drive up the mountain. NO EXCEPTIONS! We restock ice and other goods daily and thus try to make ourselves as available and accommodating to changing needs as possible - we are are on the property 24 hours a day in case of emergency. (Website hidden by Airbnb) Important Things to Note -Unfortunately we are not able to provide breakfast this season. If you are interested in a farm fresh breakfast during your stay you will need to request this at the time of booking and the rate is $30 a person. Our breakfast is organic/non gmo and includes a grand spread of granola, eggs made to order with veggies. You must request a time at booking -Verizon wireless is the only network to have service throughout the property. Nearly all other providers have service on the top of the mountain where the majority of our cabins are located but it is still undependable at best.  -Dogs are not allowed to stay in any of our cabins unless they are service animals. -Please be advised that we are not solely an airbnb Host; we are a working farm and while we aim to accommodate you as best as possible, there are sometimes other events going on that may affect your stay. We recommend you check our calendar of events prior to booking.  -There are three outdoor showers, one is located near the stone barn, two are located near the Rustic Kitchen area.  - An outhouse that is cleaned weekly is located near the Rustic kitchen, Mtn. Laurel cabin, Summit cabin and Pagoda cabin and a two room state of the art composting toilets are shared between the Solar cabin and Log cabin - both a one minute walk away - We have a wilderness camp that runs Monday - Friday from 9am - 3pm : Campers and staff respect the privacy of the cabins but you might see some groups of children building forts of stalking animals through the forest  - Please be aware that depending on rain fall the property is at risk of drought in the late summer. This can sometimes cause the pond levels to drop making it less scenic for some. - None of the cabins except the River House Boat and Little House have electricity- fans are provided in these cabins - There is a Stop and Shop grocery store located 2.5 miles from the farm where all groceries can be purchased. - If you arriving via metro north you want to get off at Bridgeport and from there you can either Uber or after booking request our resident Jeff's number who provides rides $80 round trip or $50 one way. -Candles are not allowed in the cabins - We do have wi-fi in the main stone barn but it can be undependable
There is lots to do in the towns surrounding Sticks and Stones Farm; Newtown, Monroe, Easton and Fairfield, but most of our guests prefer to kick back, stay put and enjoy the quiet energy of the farm setting.
  • Just a short ride out of the city and was completely transported! It's the perfect rustic romantic getaway. Loved our time at the solar cabin and the Sticks and Stones Farm! Would definitely recommend and go back!

  • Sticks and Stones Farm is all charm. The family running it is kind and generous and want their guests to be comfortable. It's a nature lovers dream but it wouldn't be a good fit for someone who wants modern amenities. It's roughing it, but in the very best kind of way.

    Theresa2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Sticks & Stones Farm is an absolutely magical, serene place. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful and the solar cabin was better than we imagined. It had the right balance of amenities (grill, stove, little bit of solar light), beautifully crafted, was near the toilets, but VERY secluded. We explored the entire farm, trails, artwork, labyrinth, and watched the sunset from a peak where we made a farm kitty friend who came to the swimming hole with us (a must try for the not so nature shy). The next day we were able to take a 35 minute drive and spend the day at the beach and kayaking to come back to the woods for another wonderful grill dinner and a renewing nights sleep. Celine answered any questions we had, but left us be, but if we needed her she was just a text away. If you're having any hesitation on booking, do it! We hope to again soon, too!

    Holly2016-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Aloha! Sticks and Stones Farm is amazing. My family stayed in the cabin for a couple of nights and found perfect peace and calm. The place is an absolute gem and Celine is a brilliant host.

    Roger2016-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful relaxing Christmas weekend at the solar cabin. Very secluded and rustic, with all the basic necessities covered. We were given tons of warm blankets and a lot of fire wood to keep the wood stove burning during chilly nights. We had a great time walking around the property and exploring the other cabins and little shelters sprinkled around the mountain, the best part was meeting the chickens who are quite friendly and will follow you if you call out to them. We would definitely like to come back in the spring or summer and stay at some of the other rustic cabins like the laurel cabin that was so whimsical and beautiful.

  • Wonderfull place to stay if you want to be in the beautifull nature, in the middle of the forest, with warm welcome of Sam; The Solar Cabin is beautifull, very tastefull, all you need is there. So easy place to go when you want to escape from the city!!! Thanks!!!

    Emilie2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Sam was very welcoming and went out of her way to make us comfortable. Although the solar wasn't working she brought several lanterns and made sure our daughter had ample bedding. It's very rustic and there's limited activities. If you want an off the grid weekend, it's perfect. If you have kids. You either need to drive or bring lots of entertainment. Thank you sticks and stones. We will definitely be back

The bathrooms are epic, the kitchen is fully prepped to cook for so many people, the area is so peaceful and the place has such a lovely charm about it it will be hard for you to leave. If you want a little city escape that's not too far from NYC then this place is perfect for you. I can't recommend it highly enough.

  • Rented this space for a night and had an absolutely wonderful experience in every way! The house is unique and beautiful and the location nestled into the woods with a huge open yard and porch is fantastic! Would and most likely will stay here again. The host was also amazing, very timely responses and super helpful with any questions. Probably my best AirBnB experience.

Our Log Cabin is nestled up our mountain in the woods next to our spring fed swimming hole. It is about a 10-15 minute walk up to the cabin.
It has two floors and a deck for lounging and stargazing. The deck has a private propane powered grill, a cooler with ice, and a table with chairs. Behind the cabin is a sitting area with a small private bonfire pit. There is a large sunken bonfire pit about 200 feet away as well. The upstairs has four queen beds, three twin beds a dresser and a few board games. Downstairs there is a propane powered stove, counter space, basic kitchen supplies, salt/pepper, olive oil, rubbermaid bin for washing dishes, table and chairs, a couch, armchair and yoga mats to use. The Log Cabin does not have electricity or running water but we do supply drinking water and LED powered lights. As always we recommend people bring additional lighting. This cabin is perfect for families and large groups of people! PLEASE NOTE -The bathroom is not located in the cabin. • This place is a hidden gem! Staying in this cabin felt luxurious. Comfy beds were made and a vase of wildflowers welcomed us upon our arrival. The awesome host, Sam, gave us all the information and tips we needed. Kitchen was stocked with cups, plates, utensils, spices, oil, honey, drinking water, and even a stove and grill to cook on. The compostable toilets (clean and not stinky at all!!), fire pit, and pond are just across the 'street'. Hiking around the mountain is great -even in the rain! The outdoor shower with hot water was about a 5-10 minute walk, but so cool and spacious. It was nestled in the woods, amongst rock walls and burlap curtains. The two cats roaming around were so cute and cuddly too!! Would definitely stay again and again.

  • Amazing place to stay! I booked last minute and Whoa did I pick the right place. Celine was very helpful in booking and answering any questions I had. It was a weekend away from the city with my parents and little brother, I would definitely do the whole cabin in the woods experience again. Thanks!

    Peter2015-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Above & Beyond! We stayed in the log cabin and absolutely adored it. This is a BYOE (bring your own everything) type of place. After booking, Annie provided me a with a list of "must bring" items and I'm so glad I brought everything she listed. The property is huge and beautiful. We were kinda unaware that this is an upgraded camping style vacation spot so we weren't super prepared with simple meals. I'm so glad I brought some cooking tools because we definitely needed them. The muffler on my car came apart as I was driving up the property and without even asking Tim just fixed it for me so I could make the long drive home! That was just so generous & can't thank him enough! Tim also drove us out to the beautiful lake with his 2 single kayaks and that was one of the highlights of the trip. So peaceful and beautiful. As we were about to leave a coconut truck drove onto the property. We got to drive home with fresh coconuts and straws in hand. One of the best trips ever and we will definitely be back!

  • We had an absolutely wonderful time at Sticks and Stones! We felt very well-cared-for while also left to our own devices as much as we wanted to be. The hosts made sure we had enough water, supplies, local recommendations for hiking and food, and even took us on an amazing "moss walk" to explore the property. The location is so beautiful and the log cabin was comfortable for a group of 7. We loved the rustic kitchen and outdoor showers nearby (both a short walk away). We really loved this place and would recommend it for anyone seeking a comfortable nature getaway!

    Sarra2015-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Place was great. Scenery in the woods was awesome. Had that private feeling even though other people were there on the farm. Cabin was the perfect size for 6 guys to have a guys weekend. Set up was beyond what I expected. Probably didn't have to bring half the stuff that I did. Would definitely go back.

  • Enjoyed our stay at Tulip Cabin very much. The property and surrounding areas are beautiful! Favorite feature of the Sticks and Stones property is the outdoor shower. Highly agree with the recommendation of bringing extra lights - the cabin is dark even during the day.

    Jill2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • We returned to Sticks and Stones a few weeks after our first visit to try out a different cabin. This time we tried the Tulip Log Cabin and I travelled with my husband, 7 year old son, and my parents. I loved this cabin. It was super handy having a stove and gas grill. The cabin has a wood stove which quickly heated up the cabin on our cold rainy day. The downstairs can be a bit dark, so bring lots of lanterns. The upstairs loft with the sky lights is brighter and is a nice place to leave. The pictures only show one couch, but there are actually three! And a whole bunch of chairs! They have two full size comfy couches and an exquisite love seat perfect for curling up with a good book (with flashlight of course!). Even though the loft is all open, there definitely feels like there is privacy between the two sides of the loft. One side has four double/queenish size beds. The other side has a queen and twin. The showers are very close and the toilets are about 15 seconds from the cabin. Check out llama hiking with Rowanwood Farms while you are there!

  • This place is amazing, very scenic, secluded but not isolating. The people who run the grounds are so nice and accommodating, they were available for any questions we had. It's a beautiful place and great spot to unplug and unwind for a weekend.

My place is close to public transport, the airport, the city center, parks, and art and culture. You’ll love my place because of the outdoors space, the neighborhood, the light, the comfy bed, and the kitchen. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. House is beautiful and newly renovated. You have access to your room, a bathroom with a shower, a kitchen, and a beautiful backyard with a full deck and patio. Nearby to Stony Brook Hospital & University.
Close to the LIRR & Airport. Guests love staying her because it is very comfortable & cozy.
House is close too beautiful parks & wildlife preserves . It’s like being in the country & big lush trees & grass & awesome views & peaceful & quite & private neighborhood..
  • Nick is very accommodating. He allowed us to check-in late. Room is clean and bed is very comfortable. Shower was also very clean. Location is close to just about anything you may need in the Smithtown/Stony Brook area.

    Rob2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Nick was excellent with communication and in every way. This was my first Airbnb and he made it easy. The house is in a beautiful exclusive neighborhood and is wonderfully remodeled with a cabin feel. Great location as well- you can get to the city or the east end in about equal time. Way way way better than a similarly priced hotel.

  • Great place to stay

    Mitchell2017-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Very soft, comfortable bed.

  • First let me tell you that my girlfriend is from Korea and very particular about her acomadations. She works as a freelance VFX artist and needs her own personal space with minimal distractions. This place was near perfect. Nick is a great host who really cares about the guests and their needs. He is the kind of guy I would have a beer with, and we did, along with some conversation and a few laughs. Nick wasn't around much, but when he was, he made us feel very comfortable, no awkwardness. The house is beautiful with an upscale rustic theme throughout, think log cabin, but kinda like one Steven King would do his writing in, or President Obama would stay in if he visited Smithtown, lol. The other guests in the home were kind and considerate, thank you for that. Overall we had a great experience and would recommend the place to friends, Cheers, Eric & MK

    Mooa2016-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • The listing description was not accurate, very misleading. The owner was not even there to help me. I couldn't sleep in the room because it has no window, (that piece of information is not stated anywhere). I have huge breathing problems and could not sleep in a room with no ventilation and no window. It also had no closet and no hooks or anything to hang your stuff onto. The host was very responsive before I booked the place and right after, but after I explained to him that I didn't sleep all night cause I couldn't stay in the room, that I had to stay in the living room and it was really noisy from many people either staying or living there he completely ignored me and stopped returning my messages. Also he promised he was going to be there and he never showed up to handle any of the situation and just shut me out. It's a very very unprofessional way to deal with things and I don't recommend anybody staying there.

    Ines2016-09-19T00:00:00Z

  • The cabin is a lovely weekend retreat from the city and quite spacious. We were 7 in total and felt like we could have had even more friends over. The lake is exactly as advertised, clean and refreshing to dip into. Sara was responsive and gracious; I found communicating with her to be enjoyable and easy.

    Sue2014-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • First off, Sara is very easy to work with. She responded immediately upon my request for the cabin. Secondly, the cabin was everything and more than I expected. Nestled in the corner of CT, just minutes from the Long Island Sound on a private lake in the woods, this cabin provides privacy and super relaxation from the real world. It provides 9 beds and we still would have had room for roll outs and sleeping bags. The private lake is just beautiful. Canoes and row boats are provided. I highly recommend Sara and her family's cabin. The cabin itself was unique. Many vintage pictures and artifacts that have been in her family for decades. Truly a one of a kind destination. Thank you again Sara. We plan on coming back next year!!!

    Dan 2014-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • We love beaver dam lake!! This was our fourth stay here at the cabin, and per usual it was a dream come true. The old timey vibes, the pristine water, the seemingly endless supply of activities (ping pong!) all made our stay a memorable one. Being there feels like a big, adult sleepover in the best possible way. Sara is the perfect host and we will most definitely be returning.

    Megan2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • I spent a week at Sara's beautiful lake house with my family. The house was very clean and confortable. My kids (6,4 and 2) enjoyed it too! The porch area is really great, the kids loved to play there. Internet works great. Grocery and shopping mall are close. The beaches are 20 min away and there is lots of things to do in the area (zoo, aquarium, children's museum, Yale campus,...). My negative point would be: no washing machine, no dryer and on one side of the house on the porch you can really hear the traffic. Sara was a great host, very acomodating a full of good tips about the area! Thank you Sara! Merci!

  • WE absolutely love this cabin and we keep coming back for more!

  • Sara's house is absolutely beautiful - incredibly homey with the perfect amount of space! I went with a group of 6, and there was everything we needed there, and the house was incredibly clean. It became all of our dream summer house - serene, gorgeous, and on a beautiful lake. One of the best parts for us were the rowboat and canoe. We could take them out on the lake whenever we wanted, and the instructions on how to get them and the paddles and life jackets for them were easy to follow. As for cooking, the grocery store was close, and the kitchen and grill were great to use. Overall a quiet and relaxing atmosphere - would recommend to all looking!

  • An ok stay, but if back in the area, I'd look for an alternative.

  • Clean room, nice neighborhood, and helpful housemates. Nick's house is a nice place to stay. There's only one drawback if you stay in the winter: the baseboard heaters can be a bit loud as they warm up and cool down. Keep that in mind if you're a light sleeper (like I am!). Otherwise, it was a great stay.

  • This space was very rustic and beautiful. It was located near what I believe was a horse ranch, and that smell was present throughout the house, though it didn't really bother me much. Cleanliness was a little questionable, but Nicholas was out of town during my visit, so this might just have been a slip-up in service with his housekeeper. Overall, a comfortable experience.

  • Very nice place to stay

    Daniel2016-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • It was a pleasure staying at Nicholas' wonderful house with a very well working whispering AC

    Claudia2016-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • The room was as expected the bed was comfortable and the location was close to shops and Blydenburg St park (the backyard practically). We were able to cook a gourgeous meal in the massive unique kitchen and we were allowed to extend our checkout to coincide with our travel itinerary

  • I was in town for family reunion and Dan made it feel like home. The cottage has a lot of character and was very peaceful. The location made it great for us to get around.

  • Great property, very quiet and definitely walk-able for downtown activities. Dan is an excellent host, and stayed in touch all week to make sure everything was going OK.

  • Dan was an excellent host and the location was perfect. Quiet and secluded, yet walking distance from everything you need. I would definitely stay there again.

  • Dan is a fantastic host. Warm, welcoming, funny and fascinating. Genuinely great guy. The place is exactly as described. He'll go out of his way to help you too. (like meeting me at nearly 2am). Highly recommended.

  • Nice and quiet place. Enough room and nice kitchen. Supermarkets around the corner

    Joris2017-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Dan's apartment is well-appointed, clean, and spacious. It's also ideally located within Greenwich -- most stores and super markets, as well as the train station, are at most a 15 minute walk. Dan himself was incredibly kind and welcoming. He offered advice on the neighborhood, beach passes, and much more. We had a great stay, and look forward to stopping by again soon!

    Andrew2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • I had an awesome extended stay at Dan's retreat. We were able to enjoy all down town had to offer with the remote charm of the property that felt remote. I would have loved to stay even longer.
