“Be sure to stop by and checkout one of Tampa's new hot spots. Tampa Riverwalk is a 2.6-mile-long (4.2 km) open space and pedestrian trail development along the Hillsborough River in Tampa, Florida. Great place for a walk along the river and who knows where you will end up. Countless stops along the river could easily fill a day with fun. Many people enjoy walking with their dogs and letting them socialize in two of Tampa's county dog parks. ”

“While this is a good 30 minutes away, the oneness you will feel with nature is worth it. The skies feel bluer here and the air is definitely cleaner. There is a nice sized zipline which the kids just love. My 24 year old self has also used that zipline...it's pretty neat. There is a running trail, a sand trail, and a biking trail. There is also a picknic area and lots and lots of exploration space. It is also free!”

“This is a great little gem about a 10-minute drive from downtown St. Pete. Affordable ($3 - $6), fun and interesting. It's on a huge lake where I usually see alligators, has a great museum/gift shop and has "tram tours" (golf cart tours) with experienced, passionate volunteers who drive you through the preserve, explain Florida nature to you (some very interesting facts!) and let you stop and take photos, or to see the lake and the gators. Combine this with lunch and/or shopping in downtown St. Pete.”

“Just across the Gandy Bridge is a wonderful trip of beach and nature. No toilets or showers.... just beach and more beach. On the left side as you cross the bridge for swimmers and sun bathing, and if you want to fish, go on the right side. Beware of the tide in the afternoon.... do not leave your car unattended and go somewhere.... be aware that the tide comes close up! Beautiful place to catch some rays.”
