  • Vanessa's place is very much like a traditional B&B, private, pleasant, and professional. It was great to have an ensuite and the bed was very comfy. A good find in Dublin. Vanessa is a very considerate host.

  • Very friendly and accommodating.

  • Vanessa's apartment is super nice and is located in a cute suburb a bit south of Dublin. I took a bus to get there from city center and it was really convenient. The room was spacious with a private bathroom, and the bed was really comfortable. I left my bags for a few hours after I checked out and that was no problem. Thanks Vanessa!

  • It was really cozy and clean! Vanessa was a great host and the breakfast was very good. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was really big!

  • Great position no 140 bus into city just around corner. Room was perfect big bed lovely shower and the best breakfast spread so far on our trip. Vanessa was so accomodating with all our requests. 1 kilometre walk to restaurants from her me. Had a little trouble finding house look for motor bike covered in front porch . Enjoyed Dublin if you get the chance bus trip to Belfast was long but worth the effort.

  • Irish hospitality at it's best! On our arrival we were warmly greeted into Sarah's home and what a set up! Sarah's warm and friendly personality was a very welcomed introduction to her home and family members! A very lovely family! Their very interesting and beautiful home which is neatly tucked away from the main road is an oasis, but very close to bus routes and an easy 20 mins into Dublin city centre! We left our car at the premises and bused it in most times! Our accommodation had absolutely everything we needed plus! Plenty of room, very clean and an absolutely devine bed and pillows!!! The kitchen/dining room is set up with everything you need, fridge full of goodies, fresh bread, fruit and little surprises like Danish pastries when we arrived and delivery of fresh croissants in the morning! What a treat! The great thing was that you are able to have lots of privacy or have nice chatty drinks with Sarah and hubby Michael, very nice!! We had a great time staying at Sarah's and wouldn't think twice about doing it again, a great stay! We didn't just stay at Sarah's we had a great experience and made friends! Thanks Sarah! Phil and Gill

  • Lovely house. Right near a beautiful park. Nice + friendly family. Very hospitable.

    Sarah2016-03-13T00:00:00Z

    Morten2015-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • This house and grounds are immaculate! Sarah was such a wonderful host taking us on a short driving tour to see the deer and the sights in Phoenix park before dropping us off at our dinner reservations she made for us. This made our last night in Ireland so special! The house and grounds are so beautiful and I believe I had my best nights sleep in 2 weeks while there! Everything you need in a place to stay and more! Thank you for a wonderful trip and sharing your home with us!

    Teresa2017-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • From first contact with Sarah I was certain that our group of eight would have a stay to remember. Sarah was kindness personified - nothing was too much trouble, whether running us to the pub for a meal or a drink or simply offering advice. I notice other reviews comment upon a lack of welcome from other members of the family - again our experience could not be more different! Practically the accommodation was excellent with comfortable beds and living space; our only quibble would be the lack of a communal eating space but since we eat out most of the time this was not a major issue. We did find that Wi-Fi access proved to be an issue but Michael tried his best to resolve this for us. The swimming pool and sauna were a wonderful bonus! For a group of lively "oldies" The Stables was a wonderful centre to enjoy Dublin. Thank you Sarah for all you and your family did to make us so welcome and ensure that we enjoyed our weeks stay.

    Nigel2016-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • We were a group of 8 girls for a relaxing weekend, Sarah was very friendly and available. The house is really nice and the location is perfect ! We had the chance to enjoy the pool and the sauna which with this weather were amazing! However, for us the cleaning part was not done properly (spiders web and hair everywhere and bedroom and sheets not clean). We would still be very happy to go there again if the cleaning part is properly done !

    Virginie2015-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • We've just returned from a wonderful five-night stay at Sarah and Michael's home in Dublin. The property itself is stunning, with excellent facilities (really comfy beds, everything you need in the kitchen and a fab indoor swimming pool, sauna and games room). But it's the family that really makes this place so special. Michael and Sarah really looked after us (even finding us a voucher for free entry into the zoo and recommending lots of places to visit) and Emma booked some horse riding for us and even drove us to the stables! You have the best of both worlds really - a bit of luxury in a leafy suburb - yet it's a short bus ride into Dublin itself. Our daughters (8 and 10) loved playing with their friendly dogs and exploring Phoenix Park (on foot and horseback!). Sarah said that we would always have a home in Dublin which made us feel so welcome. Highly recommended and we'd love to come back!

Luxury four bedroom House in the most fashionable area of Dublin. Ballsbridge is an excellent area of Dublin, close to all the action, the house is only 20 minute walk to Grafton Street/Trinity Collage, great pubs and restaurants in the area.
This is a Luxury four bedroom house set in the heart of Ballsbridge, Dublin 4. This luxury house consists of 4 double bedrooms, 2 of which are en-suite, all double bedrooms have either a king size or super king size double bed, , all rooms have TVs, desk, chair, mirror, fast internet access throughout the house Kitchen with all mod cons. Bright living area. The house is very energy efficient and eco friendly, including having a rain water harvesting system, solar panels, triple glazing etc. But the best thing about this house is its super location.
The Ballsbridge, Dublin 4 area, is an exclusive area of Dublin, only a 15 minute walk to Grafton Street/Trinity Collage. The area is full of great restaurants, bars and shops. This area is also extremely safe, and a great place to be based to explore Dublin.
  • We hired Desmonds wondeful house for our film crew on a mutual day shoot in Dublin. The house is in pristine condition and Ive never heard of a crew rave about how comfortable the accommodation is! Would highly recommend!

  • Desmond and his team gave us a warm welcome to this fab house. We found it to be well located and enjoyed exploring the local neighbourhood as well as doing more tourist Dublin activities. The house is really nice and it suited us well. We were impressed with the facilities and the welcome pack including milk, juice, tea, coffee, bread and cereals. When in the bedrooms with the doors closed we couldn't really hear anyone else in the house, lovely and quiet so suits mixed families or friends staying. We highly recommend and would stay again.

    Claire2016-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Desmond's house is amazing. It is super big, has very good quality furniture and is equipped with anything you may need. I strongly recommend it and hope I can come back again!

  • Booked this house for a group of ten so we could visit Dublin for the weekend. Very nice property and in a great location. Des was great to deal with, easy to contact and sorted any concerns / problems straight away. This is a brilliant house, with a high quality finish and loads of space. It is situated in a residential area and brilliant for family’s or small to medium groups.

    Angeles2017-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • Ian was very welcoming and explained where we we would find nice restaurants and pubs and gave us some great tips for our stay. The flat is large, well equipped, very clean and tastefully decorated. We really liked the little House. Bagels, cream cheese and juice left was a welcoming touch. Nice, easy walk into the centre and easy to get a taxi back at night if needed. It only needs 10 minutes walking to reach the Luas and the airlink (Airport Bus). We'd definitely recommend Ian's house! Victoria, Natalie & Lena

    Lena2016-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Ian's rental was absolutely as described. He did a thorough check-in and made himself available to ensure we had a 5-star stay! Ian provided parking discs and even coffee, bagels, orange juice and milk for our mornings, which was such a nice thought. Ian was wonderful and our stay was fantastic. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to friends and family!

    Bryan2016-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • we rally enjoyed our stay at Ian's. The house is located in Smithfield, which is probably the most authentic neighbourhood around the Dublin city centre. Nearby you find a couple of good pubs and places to eat, as well as an 24/7 supermarket and the likes. Also in walking distance is the Irish Museum of Modern Art, the Irish National Museum, the Guinnes Storehouse and the Old Jameson Distillery. The house itself is neat and cozy. There is a roofed patio of which I think it would be awesome to open the wide windows during summer and use it as an extension of the living room. We used it for smoking mainly (winter). In the kitchen you find all the equipment you need to prepare and serve a proper irish breakfast. The house is tidy and clean. Ian has been very helpful and communicative. He provided us with a good amount of information about the neighbourhood, places to see, local stuff, etc. We felt very welcome and we will surely visit Ian's house again.

The Cosy Chalet is linked to "The Wild Atlantic Way". You will find fine scenery, superb beaches and lakes. All kinds of water-sport activities. Very good locally produced food, like cheese.
Who likes traveling knows the problem. Hotels can be quite expensive. One has to spend in the hotel for food and drinks. B&B's are sometimes offering small rooms with none or minimal cooking-facilities. You will miss your own private living-room. Holiday-houses are often only on a weekly base to get. They are sometimes too big. You can land "in the middle of nowhere" and with no reception. With our ambitious and new concept we try to make things a little bit better for you. Our accommodation is "All Inclusive"! Only the use of the washing machine (incl. washing-powder) and the tumble-dryer costs € 5 extra each. Bikes € 10/day We speak English, German, Russian and some French. You'd like to cook a lobster or you intend to smoke your self-caught Mackerel or Pollock, but you don't know how to make it. Please call us. How to find the cockles and mussels at the beach and how to make the legendary "Spaghetti Vongole". There would be so much to tell. You'll find "The Cosy Chalet" on our own 60.000m2 park, forest and lawns. Save Sandy Beaches 500m from our gate. You walk just across the road and you are on our private wood-lane to the sandy-beaches. The Cosy Chalet was 100 years ago may be a shelter for shepherds and their sheep. We had to demolish the walls and built it new. The Cosy Chalet is now a mix of old stone-walls and a massive oak-frame coming from England. Many interiors and paintings are true and period. It is a "One-In-All-Solution" on 2 levels. The Cosy Chalet offers 2 beds (80x200) in the attic, reachable with a stair/ladder. The attic has only a max. height of 1,50m. One cannot stand upright! There is a little "Velux" with may be the best sea-views. Because of the limited heights and the way to go up, we can recommend these beds only for younger people! All others find a sofa-bed on the ground-floor-level (120x200). There is a full size kitchen (that means absolutely everything you need, will be there.) of course with a full-size dishwasher and a dining-table. Bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. Sufficient tea-towels, bath-towels, even those for the pool will be there. Free Sat-TV (some hundred channels in many languages), DVD, CD, WiFi. Please understand, that you may have to run a little fire to make the Chalet cosy. You will get all logs for free. All logs are homegrown and perfectly seasoned. The good thing is, you heat with a long lasting positive effect to the environment. Your "South-Terrace" is built like an old Roman Road. There you will find chairs and a coffee-table. A second, westerly terrace, surrounded by Rhododendrons will provide you with a simple dining-table and benches. From there you have direct access to the swimming-pond (water is like swimming in a river) and the decking with fantastic views over the Carbery Islands, Castles and Fastnet Rock. The Cosy Chalet has 4 sleeping options and this is may be ok for one night or two. But to get a really cosy feeling we recommend it only for two people. And please no children who are not good swimmers. Pool! Or come with the bus and rent a bike here. Transports: Bus Eireann 2x daily from and to Cork. From our gate. Taxi nearby Ferry from Schull to Cape Clear (only summer) Good Restaurants in Schull, 10Km and surrounding: Irish, Spanish, French, Italian, Philippine Nearest good Restaurant, Heron's Cove, in GOLEEN, 4,5KM Schools in Schull Language School, Diving School, Sailing School in Durrus: Cookery School. • We had a great, great time in Hannes Chalet. It is a lovely little House, equiped with everything you need for a stay in West Cork. The beaches are in walking distance and the landscape is more than stunnig. The Chalet is in close distance to the families beautiful main estate. Most importantly, Hannes was a great, knowledgable host. Helpful at any time yet leaving us with a lot of privacy. Hopefully I have a chance to visit again.

    Sascha2012-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place! It was a perfect mix of seclusion and hospitality. We felt like we had enough privacy and access to Hannes if we had any questions. Thanks for a terrific stay'

    Duncan2016-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed there few weeks ago for a weekend, the cosy chalet is actually very cosy :) and has everything you need for cooking and even a dishwasher. Hannes is very helpful and friendly and at the same time gives you your own space. I would recommend this place for a quiet couple getaway or a small group of friends. We will definitely come back soon!!

    Jordi2013-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • After staying the last week of January (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) at this wonderful cottage in Ballyrisode it was difficult to leave. Even before arriving my email and phone contacts with Hannes were helpful and welcoming. It could not have been a better experience. While there is a bus from Cork to the cottage, you will most definitely need a car to fully experience this bit of heaven on earth. The nearby towns of Schull, Ballydehob, Goleen and Crookhaven are all worth a stroll up and down their main streets, and you can't end your stay without a visit to Mizen Head, Ireland's "Land's End." Also very worth the 30 minute drive is Lough Hyne, a unique inland salt water lake with a rich history of human presence dating back to the Neolithic age and earlier. Hannes gladly provides maps, directions and a good deal of very helpful information about the area and things to see and do. Hannes' directions to the cottage are spot-on, however coming from Cork city I simply used (Hidden by Airbnb) Maps/Directions to Ballyrisode. This will get you to the "T" intersection in Hannes' directions where R591 meets R592 (which goes east to Schull). Turn right to continue west on R591 toward Goleen. After 2 Km you will pass the "OSKA" store, then another 500M to the stone entrance on the right side of the road. The cottage is exactly as described. It sits about halfway up a hill overlooking the sea in two directions. It will very comfortably accommodate 2 people, but there is room enough for 4 or even a small family. The loft bedroom which sleeps two is quite cozy. The cottage is well appointed with everything you will need for your stay including a well-outfitted kitchen, lots of power outlets for your digital gear, towels, blankets, a wonderful wood-stove for which Hannes generously provides an ample supply of logs, a picnic table. and of course the unique natural swimming pool beautifully created by Hannes himself. If you're lucky enough to be there on a clear night, the sky is filled with thousands of stars. Even without Hannes' graciousness the Ballyrisode cottage is a wonderful stay and a great value. However his friendly, warm and helpful (yet unobtrusive) manner adds a whole additional level of satisfaction to the experience. Given its beautiful location, the comfort of the structure, the gorgeous property and its proximity to many stunning scenic views, Hannes' cottage will surely provide you with a wonderful experience of rural Ireland.

  • Yes, it is picturesque. Yes, it is private and remote. Yes, it is as lovely as it appears in the pictures. Cristin is a terrific host and the Gatelodge is an experience. We used it as a starting point to go have dinner at Bunratty Castle, to visit the Rock of Cashel and to go spelunking at Mitchellstown Caves. Cristin suggested we stop at the Swiss Cottage while driving through Cahir - so glad we did that! The portable Wi-Fi she provides is incredibly useful, as the roads thereabouts are fun! The property and gardens are beautiful even on rainy October days. Thanks again Cristin!

  • I stayed here with my wife for a couple of nights the week before Christmas and it was a lovely experience. The Gatelodge is a step away from the daily treadmill and whilst having all the mod cons, has a highly authentic feel to it which instantly relaxes you. The woodburning fire really gives the cottage a toasty feel too. Outside, you can walk the grounds and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Cristin was a great host and couldn't have been more helpful. I would absolutely return and would fully recommend if looking for somewhere to stay in this part of Ireland.

  • We loved the Gatelodge and would return in a heartbeat. The perfect country side escape. Our 2 small dogs loved it too. The house itself was beautiful and Cristin is a wonderful host with lots of lovely touches such as leaving us some breakfast items including fresh eggs and bread. Thankyou Cristin for a wonderful place to stay.

  • Cristin was a wonderful host and the property and location were beautiful. Highly recommended.

  • Cristin's Gate Lodge is a truly unique experience. Crisitin was a wonderful host, friendly and accommodating whilst also being very respectful of our privacy. When you arrive at the Gate Lodge you really feel like you are experiencing something rare and special, all of the necessary modern conveniences are available but you are also able to enjoy lots of period features as well. The weekend we stayed was cold and frosty outside with small amounts of snow. We enjoyed being tucked away from the hustle and bustle of life in front of the blazing stove. We are really looking forward to another break in the Gate Lodge some time soon.

  • Beautiful house in a beautiful, peaceful setting. Wonderful hosts!

    Sheree2017-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • This lovely place is a secluded haven. It's picturesque and almost unbelievable that you are there. It's on a large amount of land that is nice for a morning walk. Cristin is lovely and went above and beyond for us in every way. I couldn't recommend this place more. It has everything you could want for a city break. I'd recommend staying there for a good amount of time so you have the chance to explore the surrounds. We will definitely be back.

    Mary2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, what a wonderful place! Truly unique & surrounded by Cristin's beautiful kitchen garden & woodlands & only a 15mins from the scenic town of Killaloe. Everything was perfect & this Gate Lodge is a little gem! Thank you Cristin for having all the bits and bobs ready for us (bread, milk, eggs, jam, the fire) We hope to return one day. Brian, Aisling & Bran (the dog).

Sheep and goats roam free on the mountain side and everyone is so friendly and kind, it's like stepping back in time for a week on the Ring of Kerry. Mairead is a wonderful and attentive host who will give you all the local info you need for a week of great meals and scenery you will never forget. Waterville Links golf course is a short drive and well worth the money for the old world golf with views better than Pebble Beach! Castles and midevil ruins are everywhere, hiking the area is incredible. Great cottage, unforgettable week

  • Lovely place with a great host. Picture postcard perfect

  • Wonderful. Wonderful. Wonderful. The views are spectacular. The hot tub is wonderful. Waterville is such a cute town and it is right in the middle of the Rung of Kerry. We enjoyed going to local bars, seeing the Skelligs, going down to the water, everything! There are two kitty neighbors that like to come over and check in on you too :) the roads are a bit windy- I got car sick a lot- so bring motion sickness medication and get ready to truly escape! Loved every minute of it.

  • Perfect spot for soaking up the views and relaxing. The cottage has lovely character.

  • From the warm welcome, to the special touches in the decor the experience of staying at Skelling Rest is unique. It's a restful house to stay with plenty of places to explore in the locality. Sitting in the hot tub on a cold winters night in light of the moon was for me a little bit of heaven!

    Deborah2017-02-11T00:00:00Z

    Stefan2017-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • We received a warm welcome and the children were delighted with the hallowe'en treats. Maireads house is beautiful with a wonderful old warm welcoming energy. Outdoor tub is amazing but needs to be kept on which pushes up your end of stay energy bill. Great location for exploring the stunning Ivereagh penninsuala with so many gorgeous views and amazing beaches. The house is located just off a main road rather than on a country lane which the photos/captions implied and although the walk mentioned is at the end of the garden, you cannot get to it from the house - you need to drive there. Mairead was warm, helpful and gracious in all our dealings with her. The house and surrounding area are truely beautiful and I would highly recommend it.

  • We took the whole house for a weekend and had an absolutely wonderful time. The house is beautiful, even better than in the photos. We felt very much at home and enjoyed relaxing by the open fires and strolling along the coast, just 5 minutes away. Highly recommend!

    Tessa2018-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the unique character and ambiance of this house. The communal rooms are fantastic and offer plenty of opportunities to interact with other guests as does the delightful breakfast (Molly prepares a great Irish start of the day) around the large kitchen table. Try out Pilot Bar for great Pub food!

  • very grand house roomy and spacious.

    Claire2017-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is a gem of a place to find. The history of the building and its previous owners is incredible. It was the home of an Irish scientist who discovered the link between sea life and humans before Darwin etc. The Owner Ward tells the story better than I. He made the visit even more enjoyable and was incredibly generous! He and Molly have restored the house to its former glory and modernised it so you can enjoy the best of both worlds. As settings go, it's one of three best that we stayed at. Only sorry we had to leave so promptly!

    Rob2016-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lively and unique property. Molly is a wonderful hostess and the breakfast was delightful.

    Jessica2017-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Ward was a wonderful host along with the lovely trad musicians accompanying him. A real treat to come down and experience a home like this. Place was beautiful, a bit remote from Sligo town and surfing hotspots but the friendly vibe at the house and the honesty bar made it very easy to stay in and sit by the fire all night. Breakfast was also delicious! Would of enjoyed a shower in the morning but there was no soaps/shampoos supplied!

Kilmallock House is our 300 year old home steeped in history, located in the heart of Ireland's Ancient East. Kilmallock is a rustic style farmhouse which oozes old world charm and period features, we feel privileged to be passing through!
Kilmallock House is surrounded by farmland & animals with stone cut stables, outbuildings and a courtyard. The house is split into 2 wings. We live in one side and the other wing is totally independent for our guests to enjoy. Kilmallock House and gardens are immersed in mature trees lending itself to a secluded & tranquil retreat. There is a south west facing sun terrace with a BBQ area outside the Airbnb space for guests (a small BBQ is available to use, stored in your pantry). We have 3 hens in the orchard. Guests can avail of fresh eggs daily, if desired.
Local amenities - Horse riding, Surfing, Curracloe beach (with surfing school) and many other blue flag beaches close by (Curracloe beach featured in the movie 'Saving Private Ryan'! ), Monart Spa, fishing, Wexford horse racing, golf, forest walks, pubs/restaurants hosting traditional music & craic in Wexford town, famous fish restaurants in Wexford & Kilmore Quay with trips to The Saltee Islands (birds/seal sanctuary). Birdwatchers can avail of the Wexford Wildfowl Reserve and there are many varieties of birds in our own garden. The annual Wexford Opera is a popular event hosted in October. Also, Wexford Arts Centre runs theatre, art, comedy and music gigs throughout the year. There are many historical sites throughout Wexford County listed on the Ancient East website.

  • This property is a hidden treasure . Louise and Michael were attentive while giving us space to really enjoy the property. Loved it and will recommend to all friends and family. The kids are still talking about the 300 year old castle ! Thank you.

    Josephine2017-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Kilmallock House is a beautiful old farmhouse in a gorgeous garden - both very well kept. Louise and Michael are great hosts, very kind and helpful. Their dog is joyful and very friendly, almost never barking. The house is tastefully renovated, the rooms are big with splendid views in the garden and the furniture is well considered and practical. The lawn is huge and perfect for outdoor games. A special pleasure are the fresh eggs from the hens. It's a quite location outside of a little village, with a small grocery-store. There is a lot to be explored in the area, e.g. Curracloe Beach is a short drive away. There are also many possibilities for outdoor activities, as Golf, horseback riding, kayaking etc or cultural sights, as Johnstown Garden. Wexford is a nice City with a good choice of Shops, Pubs and Restaurants. We (for most of the time one adult with two teenager boys of 11 and 13 years) had a wonderful time in Kilmallock House, enjoying every moment of our 2.5-weeks stay. Many thanks to Louise and Michael for their hospitality!

  • What a treat it was to stay here! This historic but updated home is gorgeous, and has so much charm and character! There was plenty of space for our group of 4 to stay comfortably, and we all enjoyed not only the home itself, but its beautiful location. There were wonderful views of the lovely garden and horse stables from many of the windows, and the home was filled with beautiful houseplants. We were late getting in, and Louise and Michael were so kind; we had had a missed communication letting them know we were running late, and rather than being upset they were so kind, even staying up much later waiting on us than we had any right to expect them to. There was a welcome basket with fresh eggs, bagels, and fruit, and in the fridge were bacon, sausage, butter, milk, jam, and anything else we needed to make a hearty breakfast the next morning. There was also a detailed packet of information about not just the home and anything we would need information on there, but also points of interest in the surrounding areas. Most of our activities the next day were taken directly from that list, and we really enjoyed them. We also enjoyed spending some time in the beautiful gardens. We really loved staying here, and wish we had planned to stay longer! We would absolutely stay here again if we are ever again in this area!

    William2016-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful property in a glorious setting and hosted by such lovely people who gave us a warm and generous welcome. We visited for 3 nights with our one year old and loved every aspect of our stay, would come back again in a heartbeat. The bedroom is nicer than many blue book hotels we've stayed in. Must mention how much we appreciated the kindness of our hosts leaving us with all one needs for a full Irish breakfast including homemade jam, fresh eggs and their own tomatoes. All delicious. We would highly recommend this lovely property.

    Edel2016-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay here! The house is spectacular, the rooms are massive and very comfortable - even better than in the photos. All the beds had electric blankets so we were extra cosy. Louise was an amazing host and had the fridge stocked with all the breakfast necessities. The house itself is in such a peaceful and quiet area, a perfect place to get away from it all but it's still within easy driving distance of lots of amenities. We loved our stay here and would definitely recommend it.

    Niamh2017-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic time at this house in Wexford. Louise and Michael could not have been more welcoming. House is beautifully restored, huge big back garden and lovely area to sit out & BBQ, all set in quiet and secluded area, perfect to relax. The resident dog Tiggy was a particular highlight for the kids( 2, 6 & 7.5) as was collecting the eggs for breakfast. Short drive to the beach and Wexford town. We spent lots of time at Curracloe beach, just amazing especially the sand dunes. There are stairs however our smallest (aged 2 navigated them on her bum without help after a few hours.

    Deirdre2017-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely lovely place to stay, particularly if you want to explore the area. Curracloe beach is 15 minutes away. We went to a gorgeous Eileen Gray exhibition in Enniscorthy castle which was unexpected. Mary Barry's Pub in Kilmore does excellent seafood. For food Wexford town is closed on a Sunday and Monday. However on Tuesday night we were delighted to find a place called La Cote (Just became a member of the Michelin guide) and had a wonderful meal. The house is lovely and Louise is a wonderful host. Fresh eggs and breakfast food when we arrived. I can't recommend this place enough. Spotlessly clean in one of the loveliest parts of Ireland.

  • Myself and 5 girls travelled from Dublin to stay in this house. It was a fantastic weekend. Margo was great and so helpful - she met us as soon as we arrived and was always at the end of the phone if we needed anything. There was a fantastic care package left for us and it made us feel really welcome! The house was gorgeous and big! It was very cosy and warm and the beds were really comfortable. The area was gorgeous and great for walks! Waterford town and Kilkenny town are only a short drive away and we're both great fun! We were able to get a taxi easily into Waterford town and back to the house again on Saturday night. We had a brilliant time and would definitely recommend this house to anyone!

    Stephanie2017-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • The Mill was the perfect getaway spot! It is unique and fully equipped for whatever you may need. From check-in to check-out, Margo was great. She met us down the road in minutes since we didn't have (Hidden by Airbnb) maps and led us straight there. I have a 1 year old we brought with us and Margo brought out a box of goodies for her to play with and provided us with a cot and high chair. Not to mention the space itself is perfect inside and out. Relax, play some games with friends and family, and enjoy!

    Kelli2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for a relaxing stay, car is handy to have at this location, short distance from Waterford. Absolutely recommend!

Folan’s Cottage is a beautiful architecturally designed holiday home that was rebuilt in 2010 from two ruined stone cottages. It is only a few meters from a wonderful quiet sandy beach, with views of the Twelve Bens and across the ocean to the Arann Islands. The setting is magical and remote with just rabbits, sheep and Connemara ponies as your neighbours.
(The calendar that shows availability is correct and kept up to date. Please don't enquire for unavailable weeks. Use the CONTACT HOST option for general enquiries. We are unable confirm bookings for more than 12 months in advance and July and August are booked year to year with family and regulars) We only rent the house by the week, Saturday to Saturday. It is possible to take the house for less than 7 nights but the weekly rate still applies. In low season (Nov to Feb) we can be more flexible if the house is available a couple of months out. Accommodation Folan’s cottage sleeps 6/7 in 3 bedrooms. Kitchen Large kitchen with island counter, electric oven and hob, microwave oven, dishwasher, clothes washer/dryer, double sink, fridge and freezer, food processor and blender, dinner table for 8 people, French windows which fold back fully and open out onto south facing terrace with view of the ocean. Living Room Fireplace with stove, T.V., DVD player, bluetooth sound system for playing music from your smartphone Murvey Bedroom On ground floor with large double bed, fitted wardrobes, en suite bathroom with shower. Upstairs Errisbeg Bedroom Large double bed, fitted wardrobes, en suite bathroom. Bunowen Bedroom Double bed and a single bed, fitted wardrobes, en suite shower room with Amazon shower head. Landing/Mezzanine Desk and seating/storage. Under floor heating throughout.
The beauty of this area is just breathtaking. The house is right beside a beautiful beach which is almost always deserted because there is no road access. It is safe for swimming and ideal for sand castles and shrimping in local rock pools. There are numerous coastal and hill walks in the immediate area and we are close to the Twelve Bens mountains which have some of the best hiking terrain in the country.
  • Folans cottage was an amazing place, we stayed there for a week and we all really enjoyed the time in the house and the area around the Connemara coast. The house has a peaceful atmosphere. A morning coffee in the kitchen with that view is extra ordinary.

    Anna2016-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place! Location and house are beautiful. The house has everything you need to make it a comfortable stay. Nora was great and there to answer any questions you may have. We didn't have the greatest weather during our week however the house and location made up for it. Thank you

    Jemima2017-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing stay with our family walking through the surrounding stoney fields with the most friendly ponies, walks on the beach collecting seashells and bits of nature we found along the way. We loved the moving wall in the kitchen letting in the sea breeze as often as weather permitted. Simon's cottage was exactly what we were looking for during for: idyllic yet modern, with a touch of wild. Communication was excellent and the location absolutely a dream. We're already planning for our next trip back.

    Nicole2016-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful cottage in a stunning location. Simon was a very welcoming host. We would be delighted to come back again.

    Alexandra2018-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was amazing. The house was beautiful and serene. Simon gave us information about both the history of the home and activities in the area. Nora was extremely welcoming and rode her bike over to greet us the first day. I cannot say enough good things about our experience. We traveled with our 3 children ages 8, 13 and 15 and they loved exploring the beach, playing on the rocks and simply reading while hearing the waves crash. We were all extremely sad to leave and hope to make a return to Folan's cottage. Thank you for such a wonderful 10 days.

    sarah2015-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Folan's Cottage was an absolute dream to drive up to after taking the long & scenic route from Shannon Airport! From the ocean view, to the resident livestock (horses/sheep/cattle), to the rugged Connemara landscape, this house was the perfect location for a week away with my fiancé. Roundstone's town center and Clifden are a short drive away. We did most of our grocery shopping in Clifden's Supervalu (we much preferred this store over Clifden's Aldi). Simon was so wonderful about contacting us and providing recommendations, all of which we came to trust fully. He truly chose some top-notch spots! We especially enjoyed visiting Kylemore Abbey & gardens, Roundstone Pottery, O'Dowds Pub in Roundstone, and Ballynahinch Castle for lunch. Also, although Galway is about an hour away (beautiful drive!), we found that dining at Loam & Aniar was well worth the travel! The house is comfortable and as pictured (other than a few decorating additions). The kitchen was also easy to navigate and very convenient if you like to make coffee, cook breakfast, or have lunch/dinner at home. Overall, this house and its location (on the beach & in the Connemara) were beyond our expectations. We couldn't be happier!

  • Simon's instructions that we received were excellent, and full of local knowledge and tips. Simon was really helpful and responsive when booking and promptly answered any of our questions. Folans Cottages are in the idyllic location of Dolans Beach on the rugged coastline of Connemara. The beach and scenery are spectacular, the sunrise over Errisbeg is well worth climbing out of the comfy beds for. The cottage is a modern renovation of two original stone cottages, joined together by a glass atrium which forms the staircase up to the second floor. The renovation brings modernity but remains sympathetic to the locals landscape and scenery. The house has three good sized bedrooms arranged over the two floors with two double beds, one downstairs and another bedroom upstairs which has two single beds. There are three bathrooms, two with bath/showers and one shower room. The water from the taps runs clear and is drinkable, not the usual brown bog water, that many familiar with Connemara, will know. For those who need to do some work while away, there's a desk/library area upstairs. The cottage is very well equipped, we found everything that we needed during our stay. The kitchen has everything for the keen chef/baker including a food blender and processor. The house has underfloor heating throughout as well as a stove fireplace; we found a good basketful of turf and firefighters on our arrival. The house is very cosy as a result. WIFI is available at the cottage with the best reception available in the living room. Mobile signal is limited at the house, but if you walk up to the gate, either toward the beach, or the road, you can get a 3G signal. Tips to other travellers to the area, climbing Errisbeg, the hill behind the cottage, near Roundstone offers amazing views of the Twelve Bens, Roundstone to Recess as well as Dogs Bay and Dolan. The route is a little unclear, as there are no worn paths indicating the way to go, we scrambled up the side in the safest and most direct route that we could find. Coming down, the easiest route we found faced west. My favourite bar in the area is at Ballynahinch Castle, where a warm welcome, huge open fires and a great pint of Guinness can be found. The ponies in the field adore carrots and apples. We found that the best local supermarket was in Ballyconeely and there's a small grocers shop in Roundstone, too. Clifden has the greatest choice in terms of shopping with Supervalue, Aldi and Lidl, as well as a small number of independents. We loved our stay at Folan's Cottage and we hope to return again next year.

  • Nice place and in a great location. It has everything you need for your stay in Dublin!

    Alex2014-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • Andy's place was very nice and clean. When I arrived at his place he was there to welcome me and was very nice and explained everything about the house in his entirety. He had a list of contacts to reach him and emergency contact numbers just in case. Also along with those numbers were places he recommended to eat, and of course drink. The location of the apartment was also perfect allowed for easy walking distance to places like the Jameson factory and the Guinness Storehouse. I highly recommend this apartment to anyone who is going to Dublin.

    Joseph2014-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Andy was great to keep in contact and set everything up for us prior to arriving in Dublin. His friend Gary was able to let us in and give us keys and a quick tour upon arrival, and the place was absolutely perfect for what we needed. The beds were firm and the heating was great. The first bedroom is a little small once you get your luggage in there, but we coped just fine! Great pressure in the shower and very clean bathroom. Location was great; just around the corner from the cathedral and a short walk to Temple bar. The 747 bus from the airport was easy enough to walk to as well. All in all, we had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the apartment very much!

    Alicia2016-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Andy’s townhouse is perfectly situated for exploring Dublin. We were able to easily walk to Temple Bar, Grafton Street, St. Stephen’s Green, Merrion Square, and Guinness Storehouse. We spent four nights and never called a taxi or took public transportation! The old Dublin city wall is right next to the townhouse and Brazen Head Pub is a half a block away. Our favorite place was Piglet Wine Bar, a 5 minute walk away. The townhouse was spotless, well-equipped, and smartly finished, and Andy was available 24/7. We will definitely book again on our next trip to Ireland!

    Leslie2018-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Andy’s place is a two bedroom townhouse in a great location for enjoying the sights of Dublin. We took a taxi from the ferry port (20€) and then walked and used the hop on, hop off buses. We loved using Andy’s place while in Dublin.

This is a spacious room with beautiful woodland and sea views. The house is set in the middle of the farm with green fields all around. 5 miles from Brittas Bay, 15 miles to Glendalough, it is a perfect base to experience the magic of County Wicklow with the added entertainment of the general hustle and bustle of farm life.
Springfarm is a working organic sheep farm set in beautiful rural surroundings with amazing walks available without ever going onto a road.
We are near some beautiful beaches, the Wicklow mountains and historical Glendalough. Also closer to the farm is the beautiful vale of Avoca and Mount Usher Gardens.

  • We felt very well during our 2 nights stay. It was a very warm and familiar atmosphere and we felt very welcome. Thank your for the wonderful breakfast!

  • Scott and I really, really enjoyed our three days at the farm. It felt like time had stopped – we didn't want to leave! The bedroom and bathroom is light, roomy, and spotless. The house is full of charm and activity. Highlights include cuddling the baby lambs, frolicking on the beach and getting lost in the lanes. There's Wi-Fi, but we recommend ditching the laptop/phone/laptop and truly relaxing. Thank you to Selena, Alex and Daisy, and all the dogs for such a beautiful weekend.

    Lyndsey2015-03-02T00:00:00Z

    Linda2016-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • My daughter and I stayed with Selena at her amazing farm for 2 nights and never wanted to leave (Unfortunately Alex and their kids were away while we were there as we would have loved to meet them too). Selena is simply an amazing, fun and intelligent person and we felt instantly part of the family and farm. Staying up until late with Selena talking about politics and life over wine and pizza was an unforgettable evening. Simply brilliant. The location is perfect for exploring the area and a very welcome and cozy place to return to after adventuring in the Wicklow area. Truly an authentic place with great people.

    Scott2014-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at Springfield farm in October! Our hosts were very welcoming, the room was bright, clean and very comfortable. We especially enjoyed the cooked breakfasts and chats about life on the farm. The area is beautiful and the farm makes a perfect base to explore the Wicklows. Thanks a million!

  • We needed a place to stay near Dingle. That's how we found the listing of Katrina Marie. And what a lovely listing it is! Lovely location, clean, comfortable and the best of all is the view! We had a great stay! Shame it was only one day. Katrina Marie had great tips for us and the welcoming was great. Keep up the good work!

    Karel2014-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really lovely time staying at Katrina's home. Katrina was there to meet and greet us at her home, and clearly explained everything we needed to know. One of the main reasons we decided on this place was the views it appeared to have, and let me tell you it did not disappoint at all. My gosh the views were gorgeous right outside the kitchen and living room windows. I woudn't hesitate at all to recommend this place to family and friends, and I look forward to another visit to Katrina's place in the future should the opportunity arise.

    Christopher2017-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had a wonderful stay in Katrina's gorgeous Dunquin cottage. The views were incredible and Katrina couldn't have been more friendly or helpful in getting us settled in and giving us tips on local spots to check out. We recommend checking out the Blasket Centre, a wonderful museum dedicated to the Blasket Islands and the people who lived there many years ago. It's located right across the street from the house and really is worthwhile. It gives you new appreciation for the gorgeous islands you see right out on the patio. We loved our time in Dunquin and will certainly try to visit Katrina's place again. Thanks!

    Lauren2017-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • I can not say enough about Katrina and Patrick. They were absolutely wonderful! This was our first trip to Ireland (and NOT the last) and we were made to feel like this was home away from home. I am back at work now in New York City and I can tell you this: I am missing my home away from home in Ireland. Thank you both for a incredible stay in your lovely home!

    Christian2014-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning views & incredible local tips!

    Erin2018-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place! We loved the quietness and view from Katrina Marie's place. It has an awesome view of Blasket island and the ocean. The place was very clean and cozy. Great place to relax after a long drive through Ireland.

    Andres2017-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • Katrina's house has got to have the most incredible view in the whole area. It couldn't get any better. I felt lucky to be staying there. House itself was very comfortable and had everything we needed including dishwasher. Katrina was extremely nice and accommodating.

    Janet2016-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Katrina's property in Dunquin .. it is a beautiful, beautiful part of the world. The property was as described and very comfortable. Contact with Katrina and Patrick was excellent. We had some difficulty with our phones and were running late but Katrina was full of hospitality when she greeted us. Both Katrina and Patrick provided us with advice about what to do and where to go (and what not to do). We would love to come back and stay longer.

  • Vivienda totalmente RECOMENDABLE!!!

  • The welcome we received from Fiona | Francis was exceptional. The house is fantastic, if anything the listing does not do it justice. Every conceivable item that you might need is there & the welcome pack is brilliant.

    Aoife2016-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in the house. Fiona and Francis were perfect hosts welcoming us with a champagne reception and a hamper of locally sourced goods. The house is great. It is bigger than it looks in the pictures and it is immaculately kept and kitted with everything you may need - including wifi and a brand new BBQ bought just for us. The house is great for kids and comes with cots, changing mat, high chairs and even some toys. Francis and Fiona were also always available if we needed something or weren't sure how to work anything. They even organized restaurant reservations and babysitting. The house is centrally located in Ireland so it made a great base for our 10 days in Ireland where we had friends from the UK and around Ireland visit. The nearby villages of Jamestown and Dru (Hidden by Airbnb) a are both lovely and well worth a visit. Carrick in Shannon is close by for shopping and for restaurants etc. the house is an hour from the coast. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a base for their Irish holiday.

  • Good stay and lovely huge house. Plenty of room for lots of guests. Cab service was good which worked out well since the house is a little away from town. Very comfy beds and accommodations. Loved the gift basket we got on arrival!

  • We cannot recommend this place enough. The amenities and building were unreal. Fiona and Francis were lovely hosts. We could not recommend them more for a trip to the West!

    Gretchen2018-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely house! We spent Easter weekend at the house with our children (7 and 9), and another family of 4. The house was beautiful and clean with plenty of thought into making it homely (my wife love the hot water bottles on each bed), and the hamper of local goods, the aga ..... and decent showers are always a huge plus. There is plenty to do in the surrounding areas for families and the hosts were great. I would highly recommend this place for families and anyone!

  • Fiona's house is perfect for a large family or a number of couples. Everything was provided for and Fiona and Francis were excellent hosts. The house has loads of space and is nicely situated. Lovely walks are available down to the local lakes. If you are looking for a very nice place for dinner - I recommend St Georges Terrace in Carrick on Shannon.

Vistas espectaculares! Gracias Danny

  • Great place, amazing views and just a 10 minutes walk from Dunree!! Danny was very kind and helpful. If we came back to that part of the country we'd like to be there again!

    Gonzalo2018-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Danny welcomed us himself to his warm comfortable home with all mod cons and told us to help ourselves to anything we found to eat or use in his well equipped kitchen, fresh local eggs and bread or a beer from the fridge,. His genuine warmth was equalled only by the views from the living room. Make no mistake, this home overlooking Lough Swilly is in a stunning location and we will return to watch more days unfold there as we now have a home in Donegal. Ask Danny if you can walk down the fields to the waters edge and make sure you book more than 1 night.

    Ian2018-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent View! Excellent Accommodation! Excellent Hospitality!

    Chris2016-07-07T00:00:00Z

Synge Street is quiet, cool and sophisticated, and just around the corner is the lively Wexford Street/Camden Street area, lined with bars, music venues, restaurants and eateries catering to every taste. It's a great central location – and a quiet, cosy home with all the amenities too. The bedroom is at the back of the house and gets the morning sunshine. Double doors open out onto a small back garden. The bed is a standard double – suitable for a couple or a single guest. Clean sheets, bedding, towels and plenty of storage are all supplied – even an electric blanket for the winter. There is good fast wifi and a flatscreen tv with Netflix in the guest room. A hairdryer is provided.
The Camden Street/Portobello area is one of the very best in Dublin – lively, multicultural, full of pubs, coffee shops, restaurants, music venues and night clubs. Whelans, Dublin's most important music venue is just around the corner. But you'll have to pass by one of Dublin's best traditional Irish music sessions on the way. Other places of interest in the immediate vicinity include: St Patrick's Cathedral, Marsh's Library, The Irish-Jewish Museum, the birthplace of George Bernard Shaw, the National Concert Hall, the Iveagh Gardens, St Stephen's Green … and many more. Grafton Street, Trinity College, the Parliamentary buildings, the National History Museum and the National Gallery are within a radius of 10-15 mins walk. So too are Dublin Castle and the wonderful Chester Beattie Library. The thriving nightlife of George's Street, South William Street and Dame Lane – and the more tourist-focused Temple Bar are about 10mins walk away. The Guinness Brewery, the Jameson Distillery, the Brazen Head Pub, The Cobblestone, O'Connell Street are also easily walkable. It's worth pointing out that Dublin city centre is mostly on the south side of the river, so most places of interest – and most of the nightlife – are easier to access if you're based on this side. For sports fans, or for big gigs, Croke Park is on the number 16 bus route; the Aviva Stadium/Landsdowne Road is a short taxi journey away.

    Ingrid2017-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect base for visiting Dublin, for pleasure or for work. The room was the perfect oasis in the middle of the city: spotless, comfortable, well-appointed and opening onto a peaceful courtyard. A copious breakfast was a bonus. My hosts couldn't have been better: Kieran and Barbara made me feel very much at home and and had plenty of interesting stories to tell about the city. The neighbourhood is lively and quirky in a good way, with lots to do locally, just off the tourist trail, and an easy walk to the city centre.

    Will2016-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay at Kieran’s. We went back because he is such a fine host. He helped us before our arrival when we had transportation questions. When we were there, if he had time to drop us off somewhere, he did so, which helped us not get lost! He is kind and generous. The apartment/flat is comfortable and very clean. It is located in a lovely neighborhood and is just a 5 minute walk from St. Stephen’s Green. In fact, except the time we went out to the peninsula (via a fast, new, inexpensive train), and our day trip to Glendalough, we walked everywhere from the flat. We would highly recommend his rental. And whenever we return to Dublin, we hope he has space to host us again.

    William2015-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Kieran was a great host, he made us feel very welcome and was helpful with local information. The room was clean and tidy as was the rest of the accommodation, two thumbs up!

    Kelly2014-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Kieran was a very kind, welcoming and helpful host and his apartment is ideally located for exploring Dublin. It's very close to all the sites, bars and restaurants (we walked everywhere) but located on a quiet, quaint side street. The flat is very well kept, clean, comfortable and stocked with several travel guides. He set out a great spread of breakfast for us each morning which was appreciated. Lovely stay with a wonderful host.

    Sara2015-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • We did just spend one night in Kieran´s house, but it was perfect, and he definitely made us feel at home from the very first moment. Kieran was waiting for us and he offers us a nice cup of coffee, we had a nice chat, he recommended us many nice places to go. The room was great, better than many others hotels, he had though about everything: hair dryer, little mirror for me, every size of towels, bathrobe, many guides about Dublin and Ireland... We spend the evening outside and came back home quite late, at morning when we woke up he was waiting for us with such a great breakfast, fruits, cereals, toast, coffee, tea... About the location, is quite close to city center, it might take just 15/20 minutes by foot to get to city center. I have no hesitation in recommending Kieran´s house as your place to stay and himself as a host.

    Carmen2014-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, great place, and polite host. Everything was nice and clean, and Kieran left out breakfast for us as well. We felt very welcome and were given our own space as well. Just perfect.

    Jose Antonio2016-08-19T00:00:00Z

Quiet, picturesque and safe Broadstone neighborhood. Walkable to city centre, half an hour from Dublin Airport, 10 minutes to O'Connell St. Royal Canal walkway minutes away. Irish Writers Centre, Irish Writers Museum, James Joyce Centre, Savoy Cinema, Cineworld, Lighthouse Cinema, Botanic Gardens, historic Glasnevin cemetery all nearby. The bedroom is upstairs and the bathroom is downstairs through the kitchen.

There's music and magic in these old walls! The cottage has character in abundance, oozing from its traditional stone walls, old timber beams, flag floors and open fireplace. Dinny's cottage is only five minutes drive from the magnificent Cliffs of Moher.
When you enter the property it gives you this magic feeling and you will suddenly realise this is part of history. This is a place where time has stood still and you will be transported back in time to the story telling era of a bygone Ireland. We are purposely not going to describe the interior of this cottage because we want to leave this pleasure to the imagination of our discerning guests. Get your morning call each morning from the cockerels in the Open farm next door.
The house has wonderful views over Liscannor Bay, all the way to Lahinch - one of the west coast's best surf spots. Near Liscannor is the the Cliffs of Moher trail from Liscannor to Doolin - voted the best in Ireland by the Irish Times! Situated on a quiet road, with secure parking.
  • All I can say is wow!!! This place is incredible. Perfect country Ireland cottage fit for an authentic experience. The photos do not even do it justice. We did not want to leave. We stayed here while we eloped on the Cliffs of Moher and John was so kind and left us some treats when we checked in. I cannot say enough how special this place was. The views, the petting farm behind it, the amenities were all amazing! Thank you John!

    Kelsey2017-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • What. A. GEM! My boyfriend and I stayed at Dinny Jim's for 3 nights and we could not have enjoyed our visit more. The cottage is like stepping into another world - it is cozy, clean, and just about the most charming place I have ever stepped foot in. The owner greeted us with lemon drizzle cake and walked us through all of her recommendations. We couldn't get over the stunning water views out of every window. The location is perfect - you're a 5-10 minute drive from the Cliffs of Moher, the cool pubs of Liscannor, and the fun surf town of Lahinch. Highly recommend this cozy getaway - we'll definitely be back!

    Noelle2018-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! Terrific cottage. Just grand! Very cozy and warm. John Casey was very welcoming and helpful. Everything we needed and more at this cottage. Great location for a short trip into LaHinch for stellar surfing or up to Doolin for live music. Cliffs of Moher only a few minutes drive. Beautiful countryside, friendly neighbors. Parking right next to cottage.

    Victoria2016-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing traditional cottage full of so much character and surrounded by beautiful scenes. 30 minute walk or 5 minute drive to the cliffs. John was extremely welcoming and made us feel very comfortable in the cottage taking time to show us how everything worked. Cosy, beautiful and wild. I cannot wait to come back!

    Emily2018-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for one of the magical place to stay in Ireland Dinny’s Cottage is the best we’ve found. Excellent hosts John and Brid, beautiful views and people Lahinch, Doolin, Liscannor, Lisdoonvarna, Cliffs of Moher, Moher Farms all within 30 minutes. Words can’t describe..

    Liscannor, Clare, Irlanda

One of a handful of old thatched cottages still left in Donegal. This property nestles in a little hollow, in a peaceful rural setting with beautiful surroundings and a lake within walking distance.
This pretty 150 year old cottage, which has been sensitively restored with many original features retained, has woodburning stoves in both the living room and dining room/kitchen. It is situated in one of the most remarkable and beautiful landscapes in Ireland. If you want to take a step back in time, experience what rural Ireland was, and get away from it all this is the perfect place for you. It is ideal for enjoying the great outdoors before spending relaxing evenings by the fire.
The Fanad Peninsula where the property is situated is an unspoilt scenic area with coastal drives, golden beaches, hedged country lanes and lakes and rivers. The area is good for fishing, golf, walking and relaxing. There are numerous beaches within a 10 minute drive including Balllyhiernan surfers beach and surf school, Drumnacraig beach and Ballymastocker beach. Donegal is home to many Blue Flag beaches, so guests can rest easy in the knowledge that the water and sand are in pristine condition. Fanad lighthouse is a signature point on the Wild Atlantic Way that overlooks the North Atlantic Ocean and only a 15 minute drive from the cottage. Other local attractions include Glenveagh Caste, Letterkenny, Rathmullan, Ramelton, Tory Island, Doe Castle, Downings, and Ards Forest Park which are all within a 45 minute drive. County Donegal also received the honor of being named the coolest place on the planet for 2017 by National Geographic Traveller.
  • We really enjoyed 3 nights as a family of 4 in this authentic thatched cottage. The February weather was cold, wet and windy but that did not affect our enjoyment of the cottage or the local area where we enjoyed long walks on the beach near Portsalon and Glenveagh National Park. The kitchen was well -equipped for preparing family meals, the stoves provided heat and a focus for cosy evenings playing cards and reading. We were delighted to see the lights were on and the radiator too before our arrival late on Wednesday evening. We did need to provide quite a lot of extra fuel to keep cosy. The bathroom was adequate if a little too draughty / chilly to consider bathing luxuriously but I'm sure it would be fine during better weather / higher temperatures. Overall the experience was very positive and an interesting step into the past to explore simple living in a beautiful remote location for a few days. A perfect retreat for those with busy lives who will appreciate the soundtrack of the Atlantic waves that accompany this cottage.

    Michelle2016-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • This charming and quaint little cottage is perfectly situated to enjoy the wonderful beaches and hikes available in the region. It was like stepping back in time to the peace and tranquility of a bygone era - and so cozy to return to after a good day's hiking.

    C2016-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful old cottage with plenty of charm, fit for a relaxing and quiet break away from all the hustle and bustle. Some nice beaches and walks are close by, but if you're unlucky to get some bad weather, it's a pleasure just to enjoy the inside space. Fantastic wood burners, compact but well kitted out kitchen, comfortable bed... everything you need. Thank you.

    Rodger2017-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage ist wonderfully situated and the surrounding is very tranquil. Perfect for a few days of relaxation.

    Heike2018-05-20T00:00:00Z

    Guy2017-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Rustic, remote and removed from the wireless world that we live in. Absolutely perfect for three nights away from it all. Keep the fire lit and everything else will fall into place. Listen quietly enough at night and the walls will share their stories with you. Just relax and embrace the experience.

    Freddie2018-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • An absolute gem of a holiday cottage. And it's situated near some amazing coastal scenery. Portsalon Beach and the great Arch in particular are well worth a visit. We loved the fire to warm up beside in the evenings, especially with the snow that we got during our stay! Really quiet and relaxing for a getaway. Highly recommend this place.

  • If you are looking for a roomy house, fresh and clean, so quiet and peaceful, this is a great value. You have to drive to town or the beach, but if you are here, you have a car. We were here four days, splendid day on the beach, spectacular day at the Slieve cliffs, grade A dinner at the Fleet Inn, Donegal castle. Tricky to find, but worth it.

    Robert2017-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience in Killybegs!Beautiful home on secluded location. House is in great shape and well appointed. You really do need to drive to town but the location is beautiful and very private. We really enjoyed our stay!

  • This house was the perfect spot for my extended family to stay as we explored the picturesque landscapes and quaint villages of Donegal. James was a wonderful host, going above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our vacation. And what a view of the beach that you can enjoy while eating lunch! We traveled to a number of different spots in Ireland later in our trip, but this area is magical -- from the Tweed shops in Ardara to Slieve League to the trad pub sessions in Kilcar and at the Rusty Mackerel, this was the true Irish experience and the highlight of our trip!

    Shaun2018-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful stay at Randal's house in Donegal! It is truly a beautiful house - modern with lots of room and great for traveling with kids. We were a relatively small party (3 adults and 1 child) and the house could have accommodated a lot more. We wish we had a couple extra days to stay and relax there. We were met upon arrival and given a tour of the house, and were made to feel welcome. The house has an open kitchen, wifi, and lots of room to spread out. The house is a bit off the beaten path; we didn't try walking into Killybegs but I would estimate you need a car as it's about a 7 minute drive beyond town. It is secluded and quiet though (very few houses around) so for those looking for an escape, it's perfect.

A big thank you to James for greeting us and being so helpful on arrival. Definitely recommend a slieve Liag boat trip from Teelin Pier. We also we lucky enough to sample the delights at Donegal Food festival. Great weekend, thank-you.

  • We absolutely loved this venue. I booked this for our grandparents 60th wedding anniversary family trip. And the location couldn’t have been better. We spent the weekend traveling along the coast and eating the most delicious food! Coming back to such a warm and comfortable home was amazing. We would all stay here again!

  • We spent one night in Carmel's house on April, we were 9 french people. She brings us from the train station to her house it was so nice! Then she shows us her house and the house is huge, well-decorated, clean, and the bedrooms are amazing! The 6 bedrooms are all with an independent bathrooms and there are really big. Carmel's house to conclude is perfect for a staying with friends or with family because there is plenty of space and the house and the garden are lovely. Thanks Carmel for your kindness and for the great welcome, I recommend the house for anyone who want to spend a nice week end on the country side or holidays in a peaceful area. Furthermore, the house is at only 1h of train from Dublin city center and then only 10minutes of car from the train station so even if it's in the countryside, it's really accessible. Thank you again Carmel, Best wishes Pierre

  • We stayed here on our first night in Ireland and we couldn't have asked for better accommodations. Carmel was a wonderful host and did all she could to make us feel at home. She had a stocked fridge for our breakfast and a delicious cake waiting for us on arrival. She even made herself available after our departure. I truly wish we could have stayed longer but I'd certainly return if I made it to this beautiful country again.

  • Carmel's home is located in a wonderful and safe area. There is plenty of room in the house with every bedroom having its own private bath. Carmel stocked the fridge and pantry with plenty of food and drink and provided fresh towels several times. We also enjoyed the Irish whiskey that Carmel whipped up for us. She is an awesome hostess and spent several hours with my nephew letting him ride and groom the horses. She also took us around the Mullingar area, showing us some of the most beautiful sites. She recommended a driving company, (Matty Murray) and Joe made our day trip to Belfast easy and stress-free. Can't say enough about how kind and welcoming Carmel was. Highly recommend her place if you are traveling to Ireland.

  • We all had a great weekend. Carmel was there to welcome us and give us a tour of the house and explain everything to us. The house was gorgeous and very spacious. The beds were so comfortable. It was lovely and quiet and only ten minutes from Mullingar town. Brilliant weekend altogether.

  • We had a FANTASTIC time when visiting Carmel at Conkill House !! Our initial plans where to visit the former home of Niall Horan (from One Direction) in Mullingar – on request from our 13-year-old daughter ☺ But meeting Carmel and staying in her wonderful Bed & Breakfast with gorgeous rooms, great facilities and splendid surroundings became the memory I will cherish in the future. Carmel was a SUPERB host for my family and me. When having some GPS troubles finding Clonkill House, Carmel drove down to meet us in Mullingar – all dressed up –since it was the evening before a banking holiday and she was going out. Carmel took time to give us a thorough introduction to the house and facilities – and she had prepared great rooms for us. Furthermore Carmel left us a nice handwritten welcome letter with recommendations to restaurants and places to see in and around Mullingar. Next morning Carmel gave us all a tour around the property to see her animals. Our kids got to feed the horses, the hens and pet the dogs. My only regret was that we only stayed for one day ☺ We can definitely RECOMMEND staying at Carmel and enjoying the kind atmosphere and sights in the area. Be sure to plan for more than one night!

    Nicolai2014-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Clonkill House for my sister's hen and we had a fabulous time. We were looking for somewhere where everybody could stay in the one place and just have a relaxing time and this was perfect. In advance of arriving Carmel was always very quick to respond to my many messages and was always very helpful. She had contacts for a minibus driver to bring us into Mullingar and a lady to do our makeup, which helped our planning. I was late arriving so my sisters met Carmel at check in and it was clear that she would be around if we needed her, but we felt like we had the place to ourselves and I actually only got to meet her myself as we were leaving. The kitchen had everything we needed, the rooms were comfortable. We were lucky to have sunshine too, so we could have our lunch outside. I don't think we could have found a better place and my sister was very happy that we found it!

  • Carmel was such a lovely & helpful host! A dream :) we were 16 girls there for Easter, a hendo for our mutual girlfriend -and we had the most unforgettable & lovely time together in the house & Mullingar. Had a couple of trips to Dublin as well, so many options. Wonderful & lovely location. Clean & tidy, absolutely worth the value ❤️ Thank you, from all of us Carmel! Xx

Muchas gracias Absolutamente recomendable

  • Anne and Paudie were the most welcoming people! They greeted us, showed us to our room and offered tea and her lovely fresh baked goods (really her baked goods are a must try). Her sons are also lovely and friendly. The home is nothing short of adorable and her full Irish breakfast overlooking the gorgeous view really made the stay authentic. It's a bit away from town (ideal for the getaway) but all the cab drivers we came across very easily found their way to the home. I highly recommend this bnb.

    Thelma2015-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • I can't say enough nice things about Ann and her husband! They were the most inviting and kind hosts. Their home is beautiful and the scenery surrounding their home is breathtaking! Some friends and I were attending a wedding and Ann made us hair appointments and helped us get our formal wear dry cleaned. She and her husband went above and beyond. I felt like I was staying with family. I was very pleased with the room. The bed was super comfy and everything was very clean. I was actually sad to leave! If I ever make it back to Killarney I will absolutely be staying here!

  • We had a lovely stay at Anne and Paudie's house in Killarney. The house is very nice and has fantastic views of the lake and mountains around the town. Anne and Paudie were great hosts and made us feel very welcome in their home. It was especially nice to find lovely hot water bottles in our bed after getting in on a cold night! We highly recommend staying here if visiting Killarney.

    James2017-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Anne and Paudie were helpful, kind, and overall just wonderful hosts! They were quiet and almost invisible unless we needed them- truly great! The room and bathroom were very clean and private and we had everything we needed. The Location was central with breathtaking views all around! We even got to see a day-old little lamb :) Breakfast was perfect- we'd highly recommend this place!! Great value!

    Tana2017-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Anne and Paudie were delightful hosts. They made us breakfast each morning with farm-fresh eggs and had excellent recommendations for things to do/ places to go in the area. The room was comfortable and the location was very scenic. We would definitely return!

    Therese2016-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks so much to Anne & Paudie! The location is fantastic and they are the absolute sweetest hosts! Their home is so comfortable and they really make you feel right at home, like part of the family. We will definitely stay again when we make it back to Ireland.

Hello, My cottage is suitable for people that want to enjoy the peace and quite of the country side but not completely isolated as it is quite close to the picturesque villages of Schull and Ballydehob. kitchen and living space are open plan with three bedrooms adjacent.
My cottage is unique because it has panoramic views of all of roaring water bay which includes the islands of Cape Clear, Sherkin, Castle and Horse island to name a few. it also gives guests the unique view of the atlantic ocean in its calmest and its wildest days with huge waves breaking over the fastnet rock to the western end of Cape Clear. This cottage comfortably fits 6 people can accommodate more if needs be.
  • I would highly recommend a stay in Michael's cottage. He is an excellent host; having the cottage prepared immaculately for us on arrival with the heating on and the fire set for lighting. He is an absolute gent! The accommodation itself is excellent; spacious, homely, picturesque. The location is excellent for anyone looking for a break in West Cork; a short distance from both Schull and Ballydehob. The view from the front of the cottage is beautiful. Thanks Michael, we'll be back!!

    David2015-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Michael is an excellent host, it was a pleasure talking with him, he is such a nice person and he has a beautiful house with a gorgeous view of the sea. Our group of six enjoyed staying here, everything was as described and we felt right at home. It was a little difficult finding the house though as our GPS would not pick up his address which might have been due to operator error. He waited up for us even though we got to his house late in the evening and greeted us personally and helped us find places to go eat and drink. I highly recommend his house to anyone travelling to Schull Ireland.

    Emmanuel2015-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Michael's Place is just the piece of heaven and he is a great guy.really suggested!

    Alessandro2014-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely house with drop dead gorgeous 360° views. Everything you need is here, very well equipped house. Lots of hot water and heating on for several hours every evening. Reasonably priced.Michael a very nice man. You will need a car for sure as there are no shops or pubs close by and no public transport. All in all a lovely visit and I would highly recommend .

    Grainne2018-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for the lovely warm welcome Michael and Peter (the friendliest dog in the world!) We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your cottage, taking in the panoramic views, exploring the local area and relaxing in front of the fire. It was very clean and very well equipped. We only wish we could have stayed longer!

  • Fantastic house. It really is lovely. Really well built home - warm, well equipped comfortable and homely. The interior is very plush with plenty of luxury features. You will not be disappointed! The finish is outstanding and I’m glad that it has been so well looked after by Ryan and previous tenants. As a host Ryan is efficient, helpful and thoughtful. I’d happily deal with him again. Many thanks for being a great host!

    Crawford2017-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Ryan’s place is truely magical . From the sea views over the Wild Atlantic Way to the perfectly decorated interiors I cannot recommend this place enough . Ryan was always available over the phone with tips and suggestions of places to eat, beaches to visit and even booked us a taxi into town . He went above and beyond to make our stay perfect . The pictures really do not do this place justice ! All of us found it extremely hard to leave this place at the end of the weekend . Can’t wait to get back . Thanks again. Elaine.

  • Ryan’s house is pure luxury with the most spectacular views, it really is a piece of heaven and we didn’t want to leave. The house had everything we could possibly need and more our 2 kids loved the playground and the games room we had hours of fun. Communication with Ryan was excellent and checking in and out was made very easy. We would love to go back.

  • The view from the kitchen of this house has to be seen to be believed. The house is beautifully appointed with plenty of room and loads of dishes for a large group. Ryan was very accommodating and quite the gentleman. If Old Head Golf was open for the season, we may have never left. I can not recommend more highly.

Bothar Bui is nestled on a secluded hillside overlooking Kenmare Bay on the Beara peninsula in the heart of Ireland’s scenic South West. Designed by renowned Irish architect Robin Walker, this unique modernist assemblage of historic farm buildings and contemporary structures works as a rare family holiday retreat. The house makes the best use of its quiet location, surrounded by 12 acres of indigenous oak woodland leading down to a small harbor with private shoreline.
Our house is utterly unique! PLEASE READ THROUGH THE ENTIRE LISTING AND THE REVIEWS BEFORE BOOKING AS THIS IS NOT A PROPERTY TO SUIT EVERYONE! It is designed as a getaway sanctuary. Because of the house being divided into separate buildings, you can stay with your friends and family but have plenty of space for yourselves and if it's just a single or a couple, the kitchen is cosy and welcoming, on a beautiful site, with woods, mountains and seaside. The house is only rented as a whole as there is one kitchen and two bathrooms. Sleeping accommodation: There are two rooms in the upper bedroom house; one with two single beds and the other with one double bed; there is one bathroom between them. There are two rooms in the lower bedroom house with a double bed and a single bed in each room and a bathroom between them. There is another little out house with a double bed and in the "studio"/ big living room, there are two sofas which are also single beds and one sofa which is also a double bed. In this room is a large wood-burning stove. The kitchen/dining-room/living-room is the original old farmhouse with an open fireplace. There is oil-fired central heating everywhere.
The Beara peninsula is without doubt one of the most stunning scenic areas of Ireland, most people come here to immerse themselves in the scenery, hiking, swimming, fishing etc but also there is great fun to be had in the local towns and villages. The brightly coloured villages of Eyeries and Allhies nearby, and Castletownbere hold festivals in the summer. There's a nice beach in Allihies and an exciting cable car ride to Dursey Island, a visit there feels like going back in time. For golf players there's a sea side golf course in Castletownbere. A stay in Bothar Bui wouldn't be complete without a visit to McCarthy's bar in Castletownbere, great crab sandwiches and a trip to Helen's bar, Kilmakillogue pier, for a dish of delicious mussels and homemade brown bread.
  • Tired of hotels, inns, B&B's claiming to be in the heart of Ireland! Well this property is the heart of Ireland!! Traditional cottages with a modern twist or contemporary architecture built into the most amazing scenery. We chose to this location for a relaxing few days with a 9 month old and a 3 year old and although it required intense planning and some common sense, it was the perfect trip. We had a mix of weather including gales and storms, so you had to plan around which of the buildings you were going to at the time. But it was fun and our children didn't seem to mind the adventure. The bedrooms were cosy but large and incredible private. The common area was fantastic and ideal in poor weather to relax and entertain the children. The kitchen was old school, taking you back to an era of simplicity and family. Everyone involved around a fire and large table. I couldn't have been any more perfect for our needs. We will definitely be back.

    Craig2017-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay at the seafront house. You are surrounded by the most beautiful views and a private woodland which we had a wander around a few times. After our walks we would enjoy a bath which also looked over the mountains. There is so much choice of rooms which is a bonus, you never get bored. The little cottage which has a kitchen in it is a nice place to hang out and have our meals and a glass of wine. We also asked could we get mussels off Sarah's husband for dinner which were delicious and fresh. We also got them very cheap. when we wanted to have a little dance around or play some music we headed up to the main modern cottage. This room is huge and there is a big comfy couch that the four of us cosied up on, and chilled out! There is little stone walkways leading from each building to the next which gives it a fairytale-like touch. The bedrooms were warm and cosy and we all had incredible sleeps. Thanks for a lovely stay, we will definitely be back!

  • A group of 12 of us travelled from London to stay at Bothar Bui for a long weekend. I had stayed at the house before, but my friends had not, and they were completely blown away. The house and and its setting is ideal for a holiday with a group. We particularly enjoyed one evening watching a beautiful sunset over Kenmare Bay from the balcony of the studio. It was my third stay there and I’d love to return.

Galway city is a hours drive away.
Kiltanon is surrounded by beautiful countryside with great walks and is a peaceful , magical and romantic place. It is close to Ennis Limerick and The Burren etc but is a hideaway for writers, artists, poets or simply people who desire time out from a fast paced world.
  • My husband and I stayed at the Lodge at Kiltanon House for a four day mid week break and we quickly abandoned the work we had brought with us and allowed ourselves immerse in the completely peaceful and tranquil setting. The accommodation itself was simply perfect and had so many delightful and artistic touches to add to the overall rustic elegance. Every effort is made to make the Lodge comfortable and cosy and is amply stocked with wood for the stove. Whether it was the clear country air or the comfort of the bed, we slept better than ever and enjoyed exploring the nearby fields and countryside (ask about the nearby caves). Paul even provided polo mints for us to feed to his two thoroughly entertaining racehorses. In the Lodge at Kiltanon House, we have found what we were looking for and plan to return again and again.

  • Our stay here was lovely. Paul and Joan gave us great recommendations immediately, from food to driving through the Burren, we arrived every night to a fire already blazing in the stove (unless I got there first), and it was so quiet we accidentally slept for fifteen hours straight our first night. We wish we could have brought all three of them home with us (including Pushkins) just because they're such great people, and we can't wait to go back again during some summer months in our futures. The home was clean, eggs, milk and fruit was stocked upon arriving, there was an endless supply of wood for the stove, and there were lots of great blankets to get cozy. The only two complaints we could have possibly had, which are truly just because we have been so spoiled: wifi wasn't very fast and I wasn't able to take hour-long hot showers. I'm only mentioning that because it can be a game-changer for some people. Still, planning on coming back. It was a joy. Coming home every night there really felt like home. The perfect home base. Highly, highly recommend. Thanks Paul and Joan!

  • The pictures do not do justice to this location.. I’ll try to post some..but the history of this farm....You must (Hidden by Airbnb) it to appreciate where you are. Much of the old grand house’s past is still visible on the property and Joan and Paul have lovingly restored/rebuilt their home and BnB beautifully. Horses, Apple trees..and the town of Tulla is lovely.

  • From moment we entered the Lodge it felt like home. Lights on ,fire lit, a feeling of Welcome! Our hosts Paul and Joan were lovely people. The accommodation was faultless. We are both animal lovers, and enjoyed the "friendship" of 2 beautiful horses, also the attention of 2 cats who greeted us at every opportunity.

  • I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay! The Lodge is a must if you are looking for a relaxing accomodation. The space is clean, comfy, well furnished, cosy and Paul had left a great deal of basic info and maps (and a fire burning before we arrive. Thank you Paul for your hospitality and for letting me feed Carlos the horse and pet your cats. I would highly recommend The Lodge to anyone. Make sure to bring with you a pack of polo mint, Paul will tell you why, and to have enough time to listen to The Lodge history. Thank you Paul, I hope to come back soon, We loved our stay!

  • We had such a great week at Kiltannon Lodge that it's hard to put it into words. Paul and Joan are the best hosts you could ask for and they were always available as their home was just a short distance from the cottage. They both went out of their way to make sure our stay there was the best ever. The night we arrived Paul shared with us the history about Kiltannon and the area which was so interesting. Joan spoiled us each morning with the most delicious hot scones delivered to our door at 8:45 am each day, what a special treat! They also helped us with some day trip ideas which were just perfect for us. Joan suggested Kilkee and Loop Head Drive to the Loop Head Lighthouse which turned out to be one of our favorite trips. We also spent one day going to the Cliffs of Moher and The Burren which are both a must see. Unfortunately it rained the day we went to Connemara National Park and Clifden so we will have to come back again. The cottage has everything you could need and was so comfortable for the two of us. The setting was so private and peaceful, just the perfect place to relax and unwind. It was nice to hear the cows mooing in the nearby pasture and to be able to share an apple and spend some time enjoying their two horses. On one morning a neighbor (professional jockey) stopped by with his horse and rode around the ring which was really cool to see. Our last night there Joan suggested that we go to Tulla to a Pub for some local music. It turned out to be the community's "cultural" night of music with 20 + different musicians participating making it a real Irish experience for us, unforgettable! We can wholeheartedly recommend The Lodge Kiltannon House for anyone wishing to experience this part of Ireland, you will not be disappointed!

very old Georgian house Very original with most of the character of the period when it was built. City Centre location, 10min walk =O'connell street( heart of dublin City), temple bar area( night life, pubs, restaurants= about 12 minutes walk)
This house is very old and one of the first Georgian house built in Dublin. This house is unique, it has preserved order inside and outside the house because it has period plaster features in the ceiling on the ground floor, first floor, second floor and on top of the walls throughout the house, it has high ceiling, single glaze, Georgian, huge windows, the rooms are big, the Local council wants to preserve the house for its original period features and want to preserve absolutely everything about the house even things we may think would be better with modern materials. This house was in derelict condition 3 years ago, I have saved the house and spent a huge amount of money to present it in the condition it is to airbnb guests : - New, very large main bathroom with great water pressure, big golden bath and great power showers with unlimited hot water on gas. - New plumbing system offering unlimited hot water on gas 24 hours and in huge quantity ( 500 litres of very warm water tank), a pump has been installed to offer very powerful showers and a great pressure for drawing the water in the golden bath in the main bathroom in minutes. - Gas central heating with new efficient gas boiler, costing on average around 25 euros/ night for a group of 10 guests. This is only an estimation, it could be a bit less or a bit more depending on hours used and on number of guests. Warning : this house is huge with high ceiling and no isolation and big Georgian windows, GAS CENTRAL HEATING IS A MUST in the winter months and is necessary to warm the house 2 hours before your arrival to make your stay nice and pleasant. Estimation of cost : 25 euros / night in the winter, half of that in the summer months. - Central location ( 10 minutes walk to o'connell street: heart of Dublin) ; 15 minutes walk to temple bar; 5 minutes walk to the Guinness factory, 15 minutes walk to the huge Phoenix park (707 hectares) with the wild dears, the president house, the American ambassador house, the zoo.... - Convenient big place for big groups, we can welcome up to 15,17 guests on a sharing basis. All the beds are new and the mattresses are very confortable, linen is new, fresh and clean, towels provided. CONCLUSION : The house is far from BEING PERFECT, BE WARNED. Nothing in the house is straight, nothing about the house is straightforward, the windows are from that time, every decision requires a specialist architect, this house is unique, full of characters. This house has been our house for the past 5 years, we have lived there very happily and love the fact that this house is a real life museum where our walls could tell you genuine stories of welcoming Irish people, farmers since as early as the 1700. I am now very happy opening our doors to AIRBNB GUESTS WITH THE RIGHT ATTITUDE who desire to experience a unique, different type of accommodation, who understand the challenges arising from being in an old building( no isolation, big volumes, high ceilings ) and APPRECIATE being in an old house with genuine history and character. So far, to my surprise, my house has pleased many guests and have been enjoying the house greatly, I was not expecting all those bookings, the photos are accurate, when I will finish wallpapering the hallway, I will hire an airbnb photographer. it is not in my interest to hide anything or to have the wrong photos, all photos are accurate and real. So that everyone knows, all is missing renovating now is a bit of painting, I would like to find a gorgeous wallpaper for the hallway and I am on my way to Milano in 2 weeks for it! I really want to create a unique, beautiful, clean, safe and comfortable home for my guests. I am very grateful with the business that my guests bring and really enjoy meeting everyone. I want to give everyone a personal touch and intention. it is my very desire to make their stay a unique experience in Dublin and at North king street.
the house has no direct neighbours on both side and the neighbours at the back are far away. We are very close to the old Jameson Distillery in Smithfield. It is well worth a look. The house is very close to Smithfield square where there is also a very popular pub called the Cobblestone which has traditional Ceile Irish music every day from 4pm. The house is very well located as it is only 10 minutes walk to O'connell street, the heart of Dublin Around the corner, on Manor Street, there is a very nice Gastro Pub called Mulligans which does very good gourmet food 7 days a week. We have just put a new plumbing system in the house which has 500 litres of hot water 24 hours on gas. there is great pressure for the 2 showers and there is a big golden bath. The nightly rate does not include the cost of gas ( reading is done on arrival and on departure so we can work out the real cost of gas. The house has a central heating system on gas as well for the cooler months. we provide wood at cost price (5.50 euro/ bag) in the living/dining/kitchen area, there is a wooden stove which is very powerfull in term of heating, It is very easy to light it and in no time it delivers great heat without mentioning that it creates a lovely, country feeling to the house which is quite nice considering that you are in the middle of the capital city of Dublin, so now very few places have this feature. We have tried to turn huge volumes, high ceilings drawbacks into a great sense of space and warmth. We can of course help you to light your stoves if you wish. The house is very close to one of my favourite spot in Dublin which is the phoenix park with all the wild dears, you can hire bikes there, there is a cricket club, they also play Polo, people run, Families love it too. So from the house, you can walk everywhere in dublin enjoying all the services of the city, yet able to relax and enjoy staying in a big old house, experiencing some of the old days of living.

  • We stayed in Nicole's house with 10 of our friends for a birthday weekend in Dublin. The house is incredibly well restored and we all instantly felt at home as soon as we arrived. All beds are really comfy, the main bathroom absolutely stunning and we really enjoyed our evenings spent in the living room/kitchen. Nicole has been a wonderful host, spending time to explain the history of the house and showing us around the area (really nice pub just around the corner, 10-15 min walk to all main Dublin's attractions). We all felt really lucky to have stayed with Nicole in this historic and atypical place. Thanks again for everything Nicole !

  • In a world of dreary chain hotels, mouldy hostels, and blaggers who will put you up in a rabbit hutch and charge the earth for it, there are the occasional gems to stumble across, and this place is a sparkling discovery... For me one of the joys of travelling is finding those quirky little places and moments that you won’t find anywhere else in the (Website hidden by Airbnb) soon as I walked up to this house I had a sneaking suspicion it was going to be one of those moments. When Nicole told me it was used as a boarding house for farmers in Dublin for Smithfield Market, and that much of the building has remained almost entirely unchanged, my mind started racing, imagining all the dazzling stories those old walls could tell. But don’t worry, you won’t find any clumps of sheep’s wool, or remnants of farmers’ drunken nights gone by. They’ve done a lovely job inside, to the point that it feels like a very smart pad in London or Paris. The rooms are beautiful and the en suite bathroom in the master bedroom is really quite special, including a rather saucy stand alone bath... Perfect it’s not, but then the quirkiest things never are. Never has the expression ‘Don’t judge a book by its cover’ been more apt. The outside of the house (one side of which is propped up by supports) is a bit of a shabby sight, but believe me it doesn’t matter one bit. It’s in the Smithfield area which has excellent connections everywhere (including the 747 bus less than 5 minutes walk away, which takes you directly to the airport), some nice shops including a fantastic grocery 2 minutes walk away, and some great pubs nearby including Cobblestone, a cobblestone’s throw away, which has live music that pulls in crowds from all over Dublin. From the Smithfield stop you can get the tram into town in one direction, or to Heuston train station (and Phoenix Park) the other. Or you can get into the heart of Dublin on foot in less than 15 minutes, via the river which is a stunning walk. Nicole and her husband were very warm and accommodating (they’re quite a quirky pair themselves), they made us feel totally at home right from the start – they even left us a bottle of French cider and some candles for the bath. Dublin’s an incredibly characterful city, and this house is bursting with enough character to match. It’s a little odd, as you’ll find out, but if you’re anything like me and you get a little kick out of discovering the unique, the eccentric, the charming little gems, this is your Dublin house.

  • I can say that is the only more lux apt you can find in dublin and definitely the biggest you can find in dublin. the apt sleeps many ppl if you want to and is located 10min from temple bar. shops and pubs are in walking distance as well. the apt is really really nice or nice....depending on what you are used to. specially the master bed and bathroom are just great. it is still in (Website hidden by Airbnb) not everything is as it should be yet. also the furniture does look a bit used out here and there. from outside it looks really bad but overall its a really nice suprise to walk in and see it is pretty nice actually. nicole was very nice and explained me everything very good and was not complicated at all. I could see she really want you to enjoy the apt.

  • This house is brilliant and Nicole was more than accommodating. There were 22 of us using the house for a hen party, with 11 staying over. There was tonnes of room for everyone and was perfect for our needs, with tonnes of comfy beds! The house is as described, very old, and the outside is a little run down- but this is a case of don't judge a book by its cover!!! I would love to have stayed for longer in Nicole's fantastic home; as a Dubliner it is great to get to see behind the doors of Georgian homes such as Nicole's.

  • I can safely say that dealing with Nicole, her daughter and son-in-law was one of the best experiences I've had regards booking accomodation. They are superb, and not only showed a very high standard of professionalism in my dealings with them, but also were the most warm, caring people i have ever come across in this industry. They wanted everything to be perfect as much as me which meant so much as it was a very special occasion. I was organising quite a large group of people to stay in Nicoles house and she accomodated our every need without any issues whatsoever. As a result we had the most amazing day/night in what is the most beautiful, cosy accomodation i have ever stayed in. We were all blown away with the standard of the house, which completely lives up to the pictures on the site. Thank you Nicole and your family for allowing us to create so many wonderful memories in a very special house. You deserve an Air BNB award for the exceptional manner in which you carry out business. FANTASTIC, and HIGHLY reccomended :)

  • Felt very welcomed by Nicole upon our arrival. She was nice enough to let us check in late due to a late train into Dublin. She sat with us for about an hour explaining the history of the house, where all of the bars and restaurants were in the vicinity and which forms of public transportation were the best and cheapest. The house is beautiful and has character. Our group of seven loved it. It is within walking distance of the city center and we didn't even have to use public transportation to visit St. Patrick's Cathedral, Trinity College, Temple Bar, Grafton Street, Guinness Brewery, and many other locations. Because there was no booking on the day we left Nicole was flexible with our check out time as well. This was great because our flight did not leave until 18:00 and this allowed us to hang out in comfort until we needed to leave for the airport.

A large bright double room with new en-suite shower room and/or twin room available in a historic Georgian country house with spectacular views over looking the valley in the heart of Yeats' county. Close to the ocean and Ox mountains. Perfect for artists, writers, walkers and all those who just want to get away from the stresses of modern day life.
Built in the 1840s this beautiful family house has never not been home to the O'Hara family. Rich in Irish history, Annaghmore retains its old shabby chic charm, the house doesn't promise to be perfect, but comfortable and fun!
  • Duncan and Nicola were absolutely wonderful! We were greeted by a charming committee of dogs (five of them!) who each welcomed us in their customary canine style. Duncan took us right in and gave a little tour of the impressive interior. The estate is filled with historical oohs and aahs and can keep a visitor busy simply by touring the intricacies of its rooms. But the outside is also a complete delight! My mother and I had a great time walking around the property and playing fetch with Willy, Holly and Pluto (a few of the dogs). Even though Nicola had a weekend class that took up her days, she made time to sit and chat for a bit in the evening. You will not find a kinder host! The beds were comfy, and we feasted on a delicious Irish breakfast that was made for us the next morning by Duncan (who has a wonderfully dry sense of humor). If you have a fondness for quirky spaces, enchanting scenery, and adorably sweet dogs this is the place to visit!

  • This is a great place to stay for those wanting a unique experience in a 200 year old house in the countryside. Keep in mind it is not a luxury hotel (i.e. There are 5 loveable and rambunctious dogs and the house does show its age). The room is huge and the bathroom is modern with a great shower. Nicola and Durcan were wonderful hosts who were easy to chat to and full of recommendations for what to do in the area.

    Caroline2017-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • A visit and stay at this home is special. The adventure begins the moment you pass through the white gate. When you reach the sweeping drive in front of the house you are stepping back in time. Smiling four legged faces bound out of nowhere to announce your arrival and greet you. If you love dogs, your home. The grounds are lovely to walk and explore. Your hosts are warm and gracious. The best part is that amid the grandeur, your breakfast is shared family style in the warmest of kitchens. We loved our visit!

    Diana2017-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • The place is stylish and the host very welcoming ! We've had one of the most pleasant experience there. Moreover, if you are a dog person this place is for you (The owners live among five adorable dogs).

  • Nicola and Durcan are the perfect hosts! The Annaghmore is wonderful - timelessly gorgeous and set in an idyllic part of Ireland. We could not have asked for a nicer stay and hope to return soon.

    Sasha2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • One word. Beautiful! If you are looking for old traditional Irish manor this is the place. Nicola and Durcan are amazing hosts. My husband describes it as the sort of home you'd take a guided tour of, but we were fortunate enough to be able to stay there. We will definitely book longer at their place the next visit to Ireland.

    Wendy2018-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Such a stately home. We were warmly welcomed and made to feel right at home. The room was so lovely. They gave us a great suggestion for dinner and music in Sligo. It was one of our favorite evenings in our holiday. Thank you!

    Kristine2016-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Nicola and Durcan are very friendly. It was a pleasure meeting them. At first glance we were in awe of the place. To think we stayed in a place built in 1709 is incredible. The bed was clean and the room was huge. There are 5 dogs in the place. Do not stay here if cleanliness is your #1 requirement. We had a lovely breakfast and chat in the morning even with her suffering with wisdom tooth issues!

  • We've just returned from a lovely holiday in Paul's wonderfully warm and spacious house. Our arrival was delayed so it was great to be welcomed with a glowing fire in the stove and some basics in the fridge. We were taking my mother on a trip down memory lane and Paul was very helpful in finding some information for us beforehand and also recommending a good restaurant. The house is a great location for exploring the south east, or the sunny south east as it's known, which it certainly was! Paul and Karin are wonderful hosts and we would love to visit again before too long.

    Camilla2016-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you very much for this wonderful holidays, your warm welcome and the walks you took us with! The house is just perfect and Ballymoney is such a nice place to rest and enjoy the Irish landscapes. We'll sure be back someday!!!!

    Elsa2013-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We spent 3 terrific nights at the Ballymoney house. Paul was an exceptional host, welcoming us to his absolutely lovely house and promptly addressing all of our needs. The view of the ocean was fantastic from the main floor and from two of the bedrooms. The setting of the house could not be better, as it is only 30m from the beach, and nestled next to a lush forested area and trickling creek. The house is very clean, spacious and modern. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it.

    Jeremy And Monica2014-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • 30 Meters to the Beach exceeded our expectations. The house is beautiful as are the views from every window. What a treat to go to sleep looking out at the sea and sky and then to wake up to watch the sun rise over the Irish Sea. Paul and Karin were warm and exceptionally kind hosts. Lily, their dog, was there to greet us when we arrived home from a day of touring or hiking and when she smelled something appealing coming from our kitchen window. Christian loved feeding their chickens and gladly offered to do so at every opportunity and in return they offered us some of their fresh eggs. We were fortunate also to be given a tour of Ballymoney Beach and learn the history and geology of the area by Paul. We could go on...we would return in a heartbeat and recommend to all. Thank you Paul and Karin!

  • Like the many guests before us we had the most wonderful time in Paul and Karin's house in Ballymoney. It is a really special place, right by the beach bust with this amazing woodland full of singing birds, a babbling stream and beautiful trees. We had fantastic weather while we were there so we spent all of our time at the beach, my 2 year old was in his element! The house is really clean and comfortable and Paul and Karin leave it well stocked for your arrival. They are wonderful hosts, very friendly without being intrusive, relaxed and helpful. I cannot recommend this house enough, we will most definitely be back. Thanks so much to you both.

  • Had an amazing week in this tranquill little seaside house,i don't think i've ever relaxed as much, sea views from my bedroom, literally a stones throw from the beach of ballymoney, plus you are so near the seafield hotel if u fancy a little spa day or a nice meal, golf clubs near by if you are into golfing...I would highly recomend this place if u want to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and just relax..both Paul and Karen are fantastic hosts,i will definitely be back soon, thank you so much for having us Paul and Karen and i hope to see you very soon again xx Mary

  • Perfect location to get away and relax in a beautifully peaceful setting with the beach literally on your doorstep. My wife and I (plus 2 dogs) had an amazing time with plenty of walks on mostly empty beaches. Paul was a great host with great knowledge of the surrounding area. Worth a visit!

  • We had such a fabulous week at Ballymoney Beach. Paul and Karin's house was such a delight to stay in. We wanted a relaxing week just away from it all and the house and location were perfect for this. Our two young boys had such a fabulous week there...from exploring the wonderful garden or the beach on our doorstep. We especially enjoyed following the sun around in the many sun traps the garden afforded us. Paul was great responding to a very late request we had prior to our trip and we can't thank him enough for that! Would highly recommend Paul's place to anyone!
