The colonial style villa, built around 1900, is situated in a coconut and pineapple plantation of a 50 acre land in Madampella, in Sri Lanka`s Western province. Madampella’s proximity to Sri Lanka`s main international airport of Bandaranayake allows you to quickly arrive in a calm and quiet environment. In less than half an hour`s drive you will find yourself in the beautiful countryside. Nevertheless the popular holiday resorts of Negombo are only a 20 minute drive away. The villa is in a typical country setting with many rice fields and coconut plantations in the area. You can do a few excursions in Negombo area: Boat Safaris to Muthurajawela Swamp and Bird Sanctuary are available. You can experience the unique tropical wetland with its flora and fauna, mangrove forests, and the marshes. This eco friendly habitat is the home for many water birds such as Cormorants, Stalks, Herons, Egrets and King Fishers. Reptiles and Monitor Lizards are a common sight during boat rides.
