Modern cliffside cottage in the village of Lubec. 2-bedrooms, 1-large loft, full kitchen, 1.5 baths, cable TV and WiFi. Private. 5 minute walk to amenities and International Bridge. Stunning sunsets.
Several feet from the water's edge with all the mod cons! Sleeps 6 comfortably.
Cottage is located in the village of Lubec on a lane that concludes at the water's edge. Spectacular sunsets!
  • If the sun is shining, stagnating in the living room, you will think you are inside a diamond-if it is foggy, the view shrinks to some gulls, a pine, and you. This looks like a normal little house on the end of a village street-but it has magic. AND a well endowed kitchen with cast iron pans! Had a solo retreat there-perfect for that. Steve was responsive, generous and fun. Highly recommended.

  • This is an awesome property with an amazing view. I almost don't want to tell people about it so that I can have it all to myself. :)

  • Such an amazing cliffside cottage. You have a front row seat to some of the best sunsets Maine has to offer... I will be returning in October. This place is a true gem!

  • The house is on a cliff overlooking the bay with spectacular views. The cottage is at the end of a very quiet street. Everything was clean when I got there, the kitchen was well equipped. Steve was responsive to my questions when I arrived. I love Lubec for its scenery and peaceful character and hope to return

  • We had a great experience and the cottage was wonderful. Steve has clearly put much thought into anticipating the needs (and wants) of his guests. The siting of the cottage cannot be matched as the views are incredible. The space is clean and filled with light (as well as modern appliances). Steve is a good host, letting you know that he's there if you need him. Over our weeklong stay, we grew fond of Lubec and even made a few friends among the hospitable locals. We hope to someday return.

  • Great place. You won’t be disappointed. This house provided us comfort and beauty inside and out.. we enjoyed the vistas all thru out the day but The two hour sunsets were the best. Steve, thank you!

The locals once called it "The City" Dark Harbour is its name. Enjoy peace, serenity and beautiful sunsets! This cabin is nestled around the bend on the beach of Dark Harbour Pond. Fully accessible by vehicle when the tide is down. When the water rises you can enjoy complete solitude or throw the kayak in and go for a paddle.
This is an "off the grid" cabin on the beach in Dark Harbour, Grand Manan. There are 2 bedrooms and a sleeping couch to accommodate up to 7 people comfortably. We have recently installed a rainwater collection tank although there is Fresh Mountain spring water flowing near by. You will be surprised to find indoor bathroom facilities. These include a solar shower and toilet! It's rustic, cozy and beautiful! There is no power, other than solar and battery powered lights. Hence the rustic nature of this location. *we are continually working towards comforts of home to serve you better. But for now the beauty and serenity of this place will be enough to make your trip to Grand Manan the most memorable vacation spot yet!
The road to Dark Harbour is winding with quick turns and very high cliffs. Please take care whilst driving. We are just 5 minutes to the convenience / liquor store in the village of Castalia. About 10 minutes from the Ferry landing. All other sites and locations are within 30mins away. The island is only 21miles long so getting around is a piece of cake.
  • Amazing time!! Had a mild issue with communication at the beginning of our stay but everything else made up for it 100x. Cabin was beautiful and Brenda was amazing to deal with. Every thing was above and beyond what we expected. We're already trying to plan another trip to stay there.

    Danielle2017-11-12T00:00:00Z

  • This weekend was all I expected and more... I needed time to escape from time and stress and this place was definatly the place to be. The tide, the wind, the birds, this place is just magical! The pictures are not half representative then what the place really is. Brenda even had the Christmas tree and lights everywhere for us...what a charming and lovely person ;) Thank you very much for everything, we will come back!

    Sylvianne2017-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • If your looking for a peaceful location to relax, this is the place for you. Loved watching the tide come in and the beautiful sunsets from the outside deck. Brenda greeted us and made us feel welcomed. The cottage was equipped with everything we needed. Would definitely come back again. Thanks Brenda and Jennifer

  • We are just back from an incredible weekend stay at the cottage. We were backpacking the Red Trail from Pat's Cove to Swallowtail and this cottage is right off the trail in Dark Harbour. Check in with Brenda was great, lots of tips and information. The sunset was unbelievable to see from the decks. The cottage is great, we slept 4 hikers with ease. Lots of battery powered lights and the wood stove / propane stove are very nice to have. There is a spring very close to the wharf. We had no issues at all with the tides and the driveway access, just have to keep aware of the timing of the water levels, park on the road if needed which is only steps away. The trail system in Grand Manan is very well maintained and marked, the views are stunning along the coast, lots of very pristine undeveloped beaches and lookouts. Jennifer was even able to offer to shuttle us to our trail head on our first day, and offered some great local sights on the way. We met a number of the neighbors in Dark Harbour. Highly recommend this location and the hosts - its a hidden gem of a spot. Thank you!

Rustic cabin, way Downeast, on a dirt road, on a sparsely populated wooded peninsula in wild, unspoiled Cobscook Bay. Near beautiful Reversing Falls Park. Not close to anything else! Wifi equipped. Outhouse and outdoor shower. Sleeps 2 or 3 inside; can also be used as a base for group camping, with ample tent space available on the 25-acre property. *Priced to encourage weekly or monthly stays,* for nature lovers, free spirits, or artists on a budget.
Half an hour from the Canadian border, the cabin on our 1787 farmstead is an ideal base for exploring the bold coast of Washington County. A week's visit would give you time to hike magnificent oceanfront trails . . . take a whale-watching trip . . . venture to the lighthouse on Campobello Island . . . shop for baskets at the Passamaquoddy Indian community of Sipayik . . . check out the many galleries featuring work by local artists and artisans in Eastport . . . or just spend time writing, drawing, or painting. Much of the shoreline here is public land, part of Moosehorn Wildlife refuge, a birdwatcher's paradise. The cabin has a double bed and also a very small (single) futon. If you have kids, you are more than welcome to squeeze them in any way you like, or set up a tent for them. The cabin is a simple Maine sporting-camp style guest space with two rooms: a 16x12 kitchen/living space and an enclosed 16x8 sleeping porch with a full-size bed at one end and an eating area at the other end. No bathroom: it has an outhouse (100' walk) and an outdoor shower (hot and cold water). No water view. (We're on a peninsula, with public access to the water a mile away.) I supply all linens: towels, sheets, pillowcases, blankets. The sleeping porch and outdoor shower mean that staying in the cabin can feel like the best parts of camping, because of the proximity to the outdoors. You'll wake up to birdsong (and the rooster crowing), and if you step out the door at night you'll be astounded at the depth of the stars, in a place with no light pollution, and the depth of the silence, so far from a major road. Any interruptions in the nighttime quiet will be from nocturnal residents of the woods that surround you: coyotes serenading the moon, porcupines crunching apples in the tree outside your window, a resident barred owl calling "who-cooks-for-you?" But unlike camping, you will have a solid roof over your head, a real mattress (full-size; firm and new), a kitchen fully equipped with everything you need to make a real meal, a deliciously hot shower, and a wifi signal. Regarding the all-important wifi: This rural address gets internet service at 3 mbps via DSL. The signal is fine for basic internet access (I depend completely on the internet for my daily work and research), but it's not sufficient for heavy-data use like streaming video.
Yellow Birch Farm is on 25 secluded acres on a dirt road on a sparsely populated saltwater peninsula. If you are looking for a coastal region of beauty and solitude (spectacular hiking, biking, kayaking, without the crowds of southern Maine); if you like a grassroots arts and music scene; if you are more of a camper than a B&B person; and if you don't mind putting your kayak on your car to get it to the water, this is the spot for you. This part of the Maine coast is a truly special place, the eastern seaboard's best-kept secret. An edge-of-the-earth, pristine landscape still survives this far downeast: 4.25 hours north of Portland, 2 hours east of Bangor, 45 minutes from the town of Lubec (and 10 minutes beyond that, Campobello Island in the Canadian province of New Brunswick), 25 minutes from Eastport. Bring a passport if you want to cross into nearby Canada.
  • So glad that Gretchen was understanding in our need to cancel. Bet it would have been wonderful if we had made it out that way!

    Alexis2015-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! Me and my two friends had an amazing time at Gretchen's cabin, it was exactly as promised. We all loved the outdoor shower, that was one of the top things we said we missed the most, it was so nice! Whether you shower under the stars or the bright blue sky it is a spectacular feeling! The area was great! Very easy to get around. Gretchen was a wonderful host! She answered any questions we had right away. She always gave us plenty of ideas on where to go and what to do. Oh, and we were welcomed with a dozen fresh eggs from her chickens, delicious!!! I would definitely stay here again!!!!

    Rebekah2014-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was idyllic, super clean and well stocked with the essentials for cooking. The farm is serene, the chickens hilarious. The back deck faces the woods and in the afternoon the birds put on a busy show that we really enjoyed. If you are interested in hiking, biking, paddling and ATVing, you'll find it heaven. We spent a hot day paddling and wading in Bearce Lake in the Moosehorn (thanks for that tip Gretchen). We hiked the 10 mile Cutler bold coast loop trail, biked from the farm down to Reversing Falls (what is going on there?) and discovered neighborhood water access points as well as access to one of the Cobscook trails along the shore of Reversing Falls. We rode ATV trails for hundreds of miles directly from the farm to the Cutler coast, the Downeast Sunrise Trail, and a big network in Perry. We ran into almost no one. One man we did see was a land owner who gave us directions to a secret picnic spot at a dam on Cathage Lake. How nice was that? We rode bikes in Eastport and took a fabulous ferry ride from Eastport to Lubec and back (highly recommend). We even scouted the St Croix for a multi night paddle and atv trail shuttle because we were close enough to do it. Got a good ATV map at the Waite general store, for free! All that and we didn't even make a dent in the list of things we could have done. Gretchen was a great host, dropping off eggs as well as a tide chart and nearby places to put in (we had a canoe). The cabin is near the main house, but it has loads of privacy. We had a fantastic stay and adored the cabin. Look forward to visiting again.

  • Amazing Airbnb. Gretchen was very welcoming and always ready to help when needed. The cabin is incredible--one of our favourite airbnbs. The bed is comfortable, the outdoor shower is an experience in itself, and this region of Maine is very scenic, friendly and less busy than other spots along the coast; Gretchen's cabin makes an ideal base for exploration. The only downside is that we couldn't stay longer.

    Amy2016-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Gretchen is a wonderful host and we really enjoyed our two night stay in her cabin. Everything went perfectly: Gretchen was flexible with our arrival time, very friendly and helpful. We brought back with us to the farm and Gretchen was kind enough to let us use her butter and oil, which saved us a trip to the store. The cabin was clean, the farm is idyllic and there are gorgeous views a short walk away. Thank you for being a wonderful host! We look forward to coming back again next summer.

    Tom2014-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Gretchen is awesome! She called us the day we were to arrive and offered us an upgrade to her farm house, also listed on airbnb. She was worried we'd be too cold in the artist cabin. We were prepared for the adventure, but we THRILLED with the offer and happily accepted it. The farm house is amazing, warm, clean, beautiful kitchen, laundry and our dogs were welcome in both locations. Her location is perfectly situated between Eastport and Lubec with TONS of hiking! Reversing falls is 2 miles down the road and we saw 2 Bald Eagles! Simply beautiful!

    Denise2016-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • I almost don't want to write about this amazing place as I want to keep it a secret! From the first minute Gretchen made me feel at home in this awesome cabin. The cabin was exactly the space i needed---comfy (the bed has an electric blanket!), rustic (the outhouse and outdoor shower were actually fairly awesome), quiet, campfire pit, great views to wake up to, plenty of space to write and an abundance of day hikes & trips to take in the area. I didn't want to leave however I have returned to NYC refreshed & re-inspired.

    Chriss2015-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • This secluded cabin was a wonderful, restful break from urban life and work. Minutes from an incredibly scenic nature spots (Reversing Falls), surrounded by wildlife and nature - eagles, seals, loons, owls and more. Gretchen was a most welcoming host, and even bought eclipse glasses for use during the recent partial eclipse of the sun. The sleeping porch on the cabin was incredibly restful and the outdoor shower was brilliant. Close to dozens of beautiful trails and nature preserves in the Cobscook Bay area, this spot is perfect for nature lovers and those who want to have a true wilderness experience. In ten days there, I only scratched the surface of day-trip wilderness trails, nature and coastal reserve hikes and walks that are nearby. Close to Eastport and Lubec/Campobello Island for those looking for the traditional Maine fishing village experiences, as well as Machias and Calais. Would definitely visit again and hope to be back! Thanks Gretchen for a wonderful stay!

Felicidades!

  • Very clean - very little clutter - very enjoyable.

    Eric2017-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • Cute place, easy check in, nice and clean and great location. There was just not enough seating for us around the table and in the living area.

    Madison2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage has a beautiful view of the water, was very clean, and the kitchen was well equipped for making simple meals. Bracy was communicative and sent helpful information regarding the local area. We were disappointed that there was no internet throughout our four-night stay, despite the fact that before booking we had confirmed that internet would be available as this was important to us. Also, although the listing is for five people (and we were a group of five), there were only two dining chairs, one three-seater sofa, and a total of two bedside tables, one of which had a lamp. The bedroom windows had only partial coverings, so the morning light woke us very early.

    Marian2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing stay! I went for work, myself and a few coworkers. Communication with the owner was very good! I would defiantly recommend this house for either pleasure or work. If I go back to the area I would rent it again.

    Phil2017-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This property is more Hobo than Boho , more shabby than shabby chic. When we finally entered the property ( the access description was very misleading and inaccurate)we were hit by a wall of intense heat throughout the property but particularly upstairs which was unbearable. There was no way to disperse the heat from upstairs which had just an old table fan for ventilation so we were forced to sleep in separate single rooms , which were very sparsely furnished (Website hidden by Airbnb) were no bedside tables or cupboard storage and just one chest of drawers without any handles! Whilst the bathrooms had been modernised , there was no proper towel rail , space for toiletries or even a toilet roll holder. There was an old 3 piece settee which you wouldn't want to sit on as it was so well worn and the dining area had a small table and only two chairs for a property advertised for seven people. The air con worked after a fashion so we had to open the doors for ventilation . There was no internet connection due to the owner's dispute with the supplier and which he had plenty of time to sort out before our arrival.Even the TV didn't receive a signal and having no internet access meant no chance of watching Netflix etc. We were so fed up , we only stayed one night instead of the two we had booked. It was the best decision we made. The two star motel we found last minute was like a palace in comparison.

    Sheila2018-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage with the orange door is a perfect spot for a quiet getaway. The house is light and the beach is right out the back door, rocky and tidal—my kids spent hours climbing around and throwing rocks into the water. The neighborhood is tidy and neighbors were friendly when we went out for walks. The cottage is next to a working lobster operation which is active but clean and quiet. I highly recommend the cottage with the orange door!

    Bronwen2018-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay and to use as a starting point to beautiful New Brunswick. Easy to get to St. George, St. Andrew, St. John, Grand Manon, Deer Island, and many other wonderful places--and we did them all! The first thing that greeted us, along with a great view from the cottage, was a beautiful rainbow, just as it was in Bracy's air bnb picture. Lobster and Salmon boats going back and front in front of the cottage, and exceptionally friendly people around us, made for an unusually good vacation. The locals, especially the lobster pound people next door were quick to share their knowledge of the place and the best places to go for everything. The lobster pound people showed us how the industry worked, and even brought out a huge lobster to show us. Too many exciting things to mention in a review, but suffice to say--don't hesitate to stay in this quiet, comfortable cottage. And, the host, Bracy is always available by phone or internet to respond to your questions. He was interested in our comfort, and we appreciated him.

Salty Towers is a unique accommodation facility owned by adventurous souls Deb Farlow & James Steel. They have been welcoming travelers, artists, musicians and others adventurous spirits for more than 20 years. It has been called a Chateau Alternatato and is certainly not for everybody. The building is over 120 years old. The house has 12 basic but comfortable rooms that are rented to overnight travelers. Some rooms have en suite baths others share bathrooms.
Salty Towers (and its predecessor The Seaside Inn) has been welcoming guests for close to 100 years. A number of rooms available some have en suite baths others share bathrooms. Don't be surprised to see musicians strumming on the porch, artists lounging in the living room and others of uncertain provenance swapping stories around the stove in the kitchen. Guests have access to a number of common areas include large living room, sun room, enclosed sun porch and a great wrap around veranda and yard. We do not prepare any meals, but guests can use two well equipped kitchens if they'd like to prepare their own meals with their own food. We'll have coffee/tea on in the morning. There is free WiFi available throughout the house. Salty Towers is our home and we are present when folks are staying with us. St. Andrews is our neighbourhood. We are 4 blocks from the centre of town, the wharf, shops and restaurants. We see the harbour from the front porch and the comings and goings of a myriad of walkers. St. Andrews is 13 blocks by 6 blocks, more or less. Walking and bicycle are preferred means of transport. The town really is a remarkable place with scores of things to see and do without having to get into a car. Everything from live music (sometimes at Salty Towers), kayaking, art shows and great food, opera and theatre (both seasonal) to viewing sea life, hiking and sailingl

  • James and Deb were wonderful, friendly hosts at their lovely historic house. Our room was nicely decorated and had a private bathroom. We stayed one night while we were passing through the area. The location was perfect for the whale watch we had planned out of St Andrews.

  • Adorable place just a block down from the cute little seaside village of Saint Andrews. Old and eclectic house. Bathrooms were down the hall and you have to share them with several other rooms, but we had a sink in our room. Jamie is a great host.

    Debby2016-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Salty Towers and its owners Jamie and Deb are simply fantastic. My room was large, my bed was comfortable and the atmosphere is better than any hotel could offer. I highly recommend Salty Towers to any one that might be traveling thru St. Andrews, New Brunswick and I look forward to returning some day.

    Matthew2015-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • My stay was great! Was served food, had my own room with shower. The whole place had a nice vibe. Defiantly recommend staying here!

This is a comfortable 180 year old house, eclectically furnished, 2 blocks from downtown, across from what used to be the last sardine cannery. This is not "Sandals" or the "Plaza", but it is spacious and homey and at only $100-150 a night for 5 bdrms & 2baths, a big kitchen. The beach access is 50 feet from the front door. Beaches in Eastport are not like the Bahamas. We have good wi-fi, and cable TV, but if you're lucky, you can watch whales from the sun room.
  • Loved it! Eastport was the last stop on a 6 day bicycle trip from Madawaska to Eastport. Will was kind enough to allow us to book for just one night! What a great old house! Everything is there, you just need to bring food and enjoy! A beautiful spot with a view of the ocean from the sunroom. The local deer walked right down the middle of the road in front of the house! Highly recommend staying here on a trip through Eastport!

    Jen2017-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had great time at Will's house. It is really nice house to stay. Very cozy and warm atmosphere, I recommend.

    Riko2016-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Will's house was great. We had a very lovely time in this spacious home. We cooked a grand meal in the big kitchen. And the downtown was very close. The ocean (and sunrise) can be seen from the front porch.

    Ane2016-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • This great home is intown on the bay. You're looking at the bay and Canada from almost every room. SICK sunrises! Lots of room to roam in this cool old house, and a porch and yard to sit an watch all of the bay activity. Exploring from this house in Eastport is life at it's best. The hosts make sure that you're comfortable and happy.

    james2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • A very large house just in front of the sea. We visited at the end of winter season, so the town was quiet. I'm sure it's a great fit for a large group in summer time. Great communication with Will all along

    Erwan2018-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • Will has a wonderful home that he shares with guests. He's very knowledgeable, friendly and a fabulous host.My crew have stayed there 4 times and they love it.

    Denise2018-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • Looking for a place that is unique? This place is a huge Victorian home! It was just my husband and I, so we had plenty of room to spread out. It was so much fun imaging how people must have lived in this home in the 1800s. (Not sure when it was built, but it looks like it was from the 1800s.) The front sun room is delightful with the partial view of the sea. I wish we could have stayed longer and sat there a spell. Everything closes up in this town early, so all the stores were closed when we arrived. It was so kind of our host to leave a dozen fresh eggs produced by their chickens, so dinner was provided! Dastardly Dick's coffee shop was our peek into small town life by the sea. Everyone was very friendly!

Ever dreamed of finding private seaside solitude on the rocky Maine coast? Camelot sits upon an isolated thirty-foot cliff overlooking the Atlantic. At high tide, waves crash against the sandstone rocks. At low tide, a hundred feet of beach is revealed for shell collecting, clam digging and rock skipping. With no roads within a half mile, you might not see another soul during your stay. Enjoy peaceful off-grid cabin life. Campfire cookouts, stunning views, and cozy beds.
Camelot is a 420 sq.ft. A-frame cabin built by my father in 1965, and completely renovated in 2018. It has a small upstairs loft with a twin bed, perfect for kids. On the main floor it has a queen bed, a sofa, another twin bed, and coffee table. The oceanside deck has 4 comfy camp chairs overlooking Canada across the bay. A hammock swings between two big Maine birch trees. It is off-grid. No electricity. No running water. No TV. No wifi. It is a comfortable, peaceful getaway, as it has an outhouse, a 5 gallon solar shower, a huge marine 120 quart cooler that will keep food cold for up to 6 days, a 5 gallon drinking water cooler, a big propane cooking grill, a small propane campstove for morning coffee and eggs, and battery LED lanterns for evenings. It is stocked with everything you need - plates, bowls, glasses, mugs, silverware, coffee French press, sheets, pillows, blankets, Scrabble, playing cards, a big Bluetooth speaker (crank it up- there's no one around to complain!) Dogs and cats are welcome!
You are in the Maine woods! No human neighbors whatsoever for over a half mile in any direction. Complete isolation. You will see lots of birds, and possibly some deer, or even a moose.
  • This place was absolutely magical! We met locals on the beach who showed us how to dig clams, built fires (bought some firewood from the neighbor) walked to see the eagle nested on pulpit rock, fished in some ponds, and scooped up sand dollars! We even saw a bald eagle swimming to shore. This place is cooler than you can even imagine! Such a gem!

  • Camelot is beautiful and in the perfect location if you're looking for a quiet Maine getaway! There is a huge area of beach to explore at low tide with lots of shells and cool rocks to look at. It was also very private - we didn't see anyone on the beach the whole time we were there. The cabin was stocked with any amenities we might need and had great views of the ocean. We would definitely recommend a visit!

    Sarah2018-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful & peaceful home for the week! We're honored to have stayed in such a cozy cabin. We spent our time walking the beach, watching the bald eagles & cooking on the porch. Can't wait to come back! Thanks so much Sam for the stay!

    Alexa2018-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Wow is all I can say. What an incredible location! From the initial booking transaction to the stay, Sam could not have been more helpful and kind. The cabin is exactly as described - however, the view is even BETTER in person! My wife calls it “a secret magical slice of heave.” And we even got to bring out three pups. We are hooked and cannot wait to return to Camelot. This was a home run and we definitely recommend Sam’s place to everyone and anyone looking for that perfect getaway!

  • An amazing location

    Michael2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Magical beyond measure. I have lived in Maine my entire life, and have truly never experienced this beautiful state quite like this before. All I'm saying is, be ready to have your expectations exceeded. AMAZING hospitality, amazing location, amazing host. If you're unsure about booking, stop hesitating and do it.. you won't regret it!!

    Emily2018-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing locale on cliff above the bay. Very serene and peaceful. Saw quite a lot of wildlife. be sure to check out Pulpit Rock about a mile up the beach.

    Patrick2018-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a truly secluded getaway, this is the choice for you. The view is EPIC and the pictures don't do it justice. My husband and I brought a portable speaker but it ended up going unused because the birdsong was so pleasant. Everything we could have needed was included with the cabin and the house is structured in such a way where even on hot days, the space gets a great cross-breeze if you open both doors. We were even treated to fireworks across the bay on Canada Day! We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Island living at it's best! Minutes from the beach, ferry landing, and Roosevelt's Park. Tastefully decorated to complement the island that FDR loved. View the ocean and Eastport, Maine from this charming cottage in the community of Welshpool
Decorated to complement island living and convenient to island activities.
Our neighbors are, in a word, exceptional. They are both friends and relatives, and are eager to make your acquaintance, if you desire.
  • We had a great stay in Brian & his family's lovely house on Campobello. The house is clean, well-equipped, comfortable, and clearly very well cared for. It is sunny and light-filled, and the ocean breezes, fans, and good cross-ventilation kept it cool on warmer nights. Worth noting: though you can see a road in the photos, it is very low-traffic and the location is quiet and peaceful, with a yard surrounded by high vegetation. Our toddler enjoyed hearing the neighbor's cow occasionally moo-ing through the trees!

    Heather2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Wunderbares Haus mit Seele. Wir haben uns im Haus und auf der ganzen Insel sehr wohl gefühlt. Außer den Vögeln hört man nichts. Die Ausstattung ist sehr gut.

    Berit2018-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • I can not say enough wonderful things about Brian and his cottage. It is in the perfect location on Campobello Island; close to the border crossing into Lubec and with beautiful views of the bay from the house. My parents, 2 friends and I stayed here while I was running the Bay of Fundy Ultramarathon and the location was excellent. It was also super quiet and comfortable in the house, so I felt very well rested for the race. The entire time we were there Brian and his wife were so kind and very responsive whenever we had questions. Should I run this race again I would absolutely love to stay in their cottage.

    Erika2017-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • Brian communicated with us very well and made us feel very welcome. We arrived quite late in the evening and were met shortly after by Brian's mother-in-law Mary was very friendly and even offered to feed us some of her Thanksgiving dinner but we had unfortunately just eaten. The cottage is beautiful and very comfortable with all the comforts of home. We really enjoyed the terrace and beauty surrounding us. The stars at night were amazing! Everything is quite close and there is plenty to do on the Island. We weren't here at the best time of year but still enjoyed walking the beaches and watching the local wildlife including about 10 Bald Eagles. Mary recommended that we go early to the Roosevelt home and get our tickets for Tea with Eleanor. It was a wonderful event and one I would recommend for anyone. Overall it was a wonderful experience and I hope to return someday.

    Kris2015-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • This home is a gem. The house is just wonderful, modern yet quaint, beautiful beachy feel, comfortable, fully equipped, gorgeous location, great views of the water. We couldn't have asked for anything more. We came for the Bay of Fundy marathon and this was the absolute perfect place to stay. Brian was great in communicating with us about routes, ferries, restaurants, etc and was easy to contact and work with. We felt very welcome and will definitely be back! We enjoyed ourselves so much that we are planning to make this an annual trip.

    Lisa2016-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • We were welcomed by Brian's in-laws who where very welcome and nice. The house is very cosy, clean and tidy. It's located in a very quiet and pleasant neighbourhood and the sun sets are gorgeous. Overall it was an awesome experience! Would certainly return in the future.

    Lawrence2015-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect neighborhood, easy accessibility to rest of the island and the bridge back to the mainland. Enjoyed the small, sunny deck and looking over to the lights of Eastport at night. The house was just the right size for three adults to vacation in. Roosevelt Park is open through mid-October, but most of the restaurants had closed down by early October, so you might want to plan your trip for an earlier date!

    Anne2016-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this house. Beautifully situated, nicely appointed, welcoming and comfortable. It had everything we needed, and I loved coming "home" to it each day. I was attending a conference at the FDR Park and the drive was exactly 5 minutes. (I timed it.) It was also a quick drive to the golf course and over the bridge into Lubec. Brian was a perfect host. He provided all the information we needed - and more. Plus, he responded to my questions immediately. We loved the serenity and the beauty of Campobello and this house was part of our pleasure.

This older cottage is steeped in the history of the quaint little coastal city of Eastport, ME. It has two bedrooms which include baths en suite. It can easily accommodate 4 people. It is an easy walk to down town, the water and other amenities. Enjoy a slow pace and view the bay, shop our local markets and eateries. You won't be disappointed and it is a pet friendly city.
Small cozy coastal cottage with easy walk to downtown amenities. Washer & dryer on premise. Quiet neighborhood. Well behaved pets allowed. Large back yard with deck.
I love that my neighborhood is quiet and that I have friendly and helpful neighbors.
  • This house is simply charming. All the comforts and more, plus a delightful downtown in walking distance. A lovely getaway.

  • We had a great (Email hidden by Airbnb) fortable and very convenient location...nice walk to Moose Island Bakery in the morning!! Nice neighbors and friendly neighborhood.

    Judith2016-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • This was absolute joy. This older home is a treasure in a nice Eastport neighborhood, walking distance from downtown. The home was immaculate and modernized in an unique way (added bath under stairwell), yet kept its older appearance. Lynda was easy to work with and we would look forward to retirning.

    Tom2016-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • We LOVE Lynda’s place. We came a couple weeks ago and enjoyed so much, we came back! Just as great this time. The perfect house in the perfect location to enjoy Eastport.

    Wendy2018-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lynda's house is close to the centre of Eastport and was perfect for our two night stay in the town. We had the run of the house which was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed being able to cook for ourselves in the kitchen and sit down to dinner in the dining room. Thanks Lynda for a lovely visit. Alex & Gail

    Alex2015-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • We visited Eastport from Portland to get away for my daughter's 6th birthday. Lynda's home was a great fit for our family of 4. The home was comfortable and welcoming. The kitchen was well equipped. We enjoyed sitting out on the back deck as well while the kids played in the yard. It was a very quick walk into town and the waterfront, which we did multiple times per day. We had to get in touch with Lynda at one point in regards to the internet and she was quick to respond and very helpful. Overall, a great time!

    Dirk2015-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lynda made my late arrival easy. She was super agreeable and communicated clearly. The house is an 1840s gem and if you love antique details, this house is perfect. The house has all the necessary updates and amenities and was spotless. Lynda thought of everything to make her guests feel welcome. Eastport is a great destination--it not only has stunning views but also has a lively vibrant arts community. Salmonfest, Pirate fest...this is a city of festivals and folks from all over seem to be moving there to be part of a creative, close knit but welcoming community. You will feel like a local by the end of the weekend. There are not many hotels in Eastport so Lynda's lovely home is a great option. Also, it is in a quiet neighborhood just above the historic district. You can walk to everything. Thanks Lynda for sharing your home and Eastport.

    Kate2015-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful small town on the water, friendly people. We wanted a quiet place to unwind from busy live & it fit the bill perfectly. Walk to town and a long water front. Home was perfect & fit the period of the town. This home offered everything we wanted. Lynda's description of her home is perfect & to the tee. We loved it.

Nestled in the heart of Downeast Maine, our cottages are a peaceful retreat. You can enjoy fishing, canoeing, swimming and more. From late June through mid-August, we rent weekly only (Sunday to Sunday). Springtime weekly rate shown below.
This single level cottage features a field-stone fireplace. There is also a monitor heater for those cold nights. It has a cozy kitchen and dining area, a living room, bathroom with shower and two bedrooms that sleep 4. One bedroom has a double bed and one has 2 twin beds. The screened porch overlooks Robinson's Pond and is a short walk to the swings, badminton/volleyball net and swimming area.
Edmunds Township is in a very rural area within 30 minutes of a variety of coastal towns and activities. The property boasts a man-made pond and the Dennys River. We are also only a few hundred yards from the Sunrise Trail. The closest stores are in Pembroke, a 6 mile drive. There are a Dollar General and two convenience stores. These have some groceries and takeout options. The closest sit-down restaurant is 12 miles from us in Perry, but most are located in the towns of Machis, Calais, Eastport and Lubec which are a 20-30 mile drive. Many restaurants and stores close early here, so it's best to call ahead for hours if you are planning a later arrival. All of the cottages have a kitchen so cooking for yourself is an option. Coming from the north, the last stop for groceries is Calais and coming from the south, the last stop for groceries is Machias. Both are about 25 miles from us.
  • Amazing location and quiet and cozy cottage on the lake! Very accommodating for a late arrival, had lights, heat on etc. Would highly recommend for a relaxing getaway! We had a fire and relaxed the whole time. Went out on the lake on their complimentary canoes! Beautiful location. Great for pets too! Thanks so much! A+

  • We had a quick stay in cabin #3. The cabin was super cozy with a fireplace and screened-in porch---wish we could have stayed longer!! The bed was comfortable with nice flannel sheets. Our dog loved the cabin too! Jamie, Deanna, Pancho <3

  • Just what we were looking for in a short trip down, down east! Off the beaten path, but close enough to necessary amenities. Teresa and Bill were super helpful and the cabin was cute as can be and well built. The pond and near by river surrounded by deep forests filled with innumerable birds made for a fantastic stay! Just wish we had stayed more days.

Located in the heart of Lubec! You can hear the church bells and SummerKey's concerts from the house. Within walking distance to the beach, restaurants, pubs, library, bank, grocery store and even Canada. 5 miles from West Quoddy Head Lighthouse, the Easternmost Point in the United States.
Relax on the front porch or in the private garden. Enjoy all the amenities of home in my cozy guest room.
Located in the heart of "downtown" Lubec, 5 Horror Hill is located on the peninsula, so you are never far from the water. This quiet neighborhood is walking distance to area restaurants, pubs, library, churches, grocery store, school and the Bay of Fundy International Marathon finish line.
  • We had a lovely stay in Lubec. Sara is very friendly, welcoming and helpful: she gave us lots of tips about the state park and places to eat. She was always very pleasant and we had some interesting conversations about the local area. The house is very beautiful and comfortable, the bed was really comfortable too.

    Niel2018-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Sara had to go away on business so I had the whole house by myself. She left me detailed information which were very helpful. Her house was very clean and welcoming. Whoever books her place will not be disappointed.

  • Lubec is a wonderful place to visit! Sara's home is in the middle of this little town. Sara is a wonderful hostess and a big supporter of her community. FDR's Campobello summer home is just across a short bridge from Lubec. Well worth a visit. Thank you Sara!

    Tom2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Lubec is a gem that is not to be missed, and experiencing it from the comfort of Sara's beautiful home is definitely the way to explore this marvelous town. I stayed for two nights and Sara was in town but staying elsewhere, so I had the place to myself. She was friendly and accessible and made sure that I had everything I needed. Quoddyhead Lighthouse and Hamilton Cove were fun to explore, and I had a delicious meal at Fisherman's Wharf where they made me feel right at home. It's quiet and peaceful but with a great town with lots of restaurants open even in the off-season. I'd love to come back and stay longer. I'd love to do it at Sara's house, which was a true delight — comfortable bed, full access to kitchen and living room, very clean bathroom and thoughtful touches like coffee selections and a big binder of local tips throughout my whole stay. Do not let the "horror hill" address deter you! It's a little slice of heaven.

    Iris2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and i had the best trip we have ever had with Sara. Her place is beautiful. The town and people are amazing. Unfortunately we enjoyed Sara and Lubec so much we don't know if will ever try another AirBnB LOL

Renovated two-bedroom, two bath, 1,000 s.f. 1908 cottage on the hill with Bay of Fundy views from the deck and bedrooms and a snug vented gas fireplace. Cook's kitchen. 2 miles to Roosevelt's summer cottage on Campobello. Off the main road, it's tranquil and convenient. For Summerkeys folks there's a good quality, in tune, upright piano and we're a stone's throw from the church where the concerts are held. Everything is new, super clean and uncluttered.
This approximately 1,000 s.f. 1908 cottage was rescued from the ravages of time. Left dilapidated, it has been restored from the ground up. Literally! The house was tipped up on jacks, one side of the basement scooped out and replaced and then tipped the other way. Like careening a boat. Everything is done on the inside - the landscaping is neat and tidy but plants are still making a new life for themselves. Everything in the house is new. There are two bedrooms upstairs, one medum sized with ensuite shower room and a smaller one using the hall bath - both have good closets and a capacious dresser. Linens include high quality sheets, plenty of pillows and blankets and charming comforters. The living room is graced by a vented gas fireplace for snuggling up on cool evenings and there is a good quality upright piano that is kept in tune for that obligatory soiree musicale. The modern IKEA kitchen is open to the dining room and sunroom. The owner is a keen cook and the kitchen is equipped with everything you need - including lethally-sharp, high-quality chef's knives (joy of joys). Egress to the large deck is via a YOOGE sliding glass door from the dining room and the Bay of Fundy is visible a few hundred yards away. Deck furniture completes the ambiance. The sunroom window seat converts to a comfy queen-sized bed (IKEA Valentuna sectional). There is no air-conditioning because coastal Maine is generally cool and even chilly - even in summer. There is separately controlled electric baseboard or fan heat in the bedrooms and bathrooms and a large space heater downstairs can kick in if the fireplace isn't sufficient. Hot water is a tankless system with plenty of capacity for a long hot shower or bath.
The grocery store is about 200 yards away and Lubec has several restaurants. The brew pub operates Thursday through Saturday - often with excellent live music. Lobsters are inexpensive and very good. Lubec rewards the walker - though its big hill requires some puff. The local library is a haven of books and tranquility and open to visitors. Bring your passport - Canada is across the bridge and the Roosevelt summer cottage is a must see. The town has few tourist shops - a potter and a yarn shop plus a small gift shop are about it. A major attraction is the Save Our Strays shop which has an ever-changing panoply of stuff - sometimes very neat stuff. The Summer keys program in town hosts 30 to 50 amateur adult musicians weekly June-August. There is a professional concert every Wednesday and a student concert on Friday. Both are entertaining, though for different reasons. There are also many rewarding hikes in the area. Bikes and kayaks can be rented locally. By using summer ferries you can island hop to Prince Edward Island or the ferry to Newfoundland. Why Horror Hill? We wish we knew! But there are some stories...
  • Catherine has done everything right in this AirBnB. The bed is comfortable, the kitchen is complete and easy to use, the bathrooms are well supplied (with touches like a hair dryer in both bathrooms!), and everything was spotlessly clean--even the piano was in tune and a joy to play. It is truly a calming, comfortable, private place. The cottage is very easy to live in...with special touches that only show when someone actually stays there themselves. It was such a welcome place from the moment we arrived, and we would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in Lubec or near Campobello Island.

    Mary2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was everything as advertised, and more. It was beautiful, clean, comfortable, had everything I needed and was just adorable. While I was by myself, the cottage had nice, roomy bedrooms and two bathrooms and would be comfortable for two couples or a family. The kitchen had everything I needed, and I loved having my morning coffee in the sunroom area, even when it rained! The location was also great -- right in the village, a two-minute walk to the IGA grocery store, and a few minutes down to the waterfront. The setting was beyond compare, but it was all made perfect by the wonderful accommodations. The information provided was clear and complete, and Catherine was great at communicating. I will not only recommend this cottage to my friends, but definitely be back for more.

    Maureen2017-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful, comfortable cottage in a great location. Everything is brand new and everything you would need is provided. The bedrooms are nicely separated so that no noise is heard between them. There is a beautiful piano in the living room. The owner was very responsive to emails. Highly recommended!

  • Catherine's home is very welcoming and comfortable. There are nice beds and bedding, a bright, well equipped kitchen, a relaxing living room and a pleasant deck. It is centrally located and one can walk everywhere. Lubec slowly reveals herself and exploring all there is to offer is interesting and fun.

    Karen2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful home away from home with every amenity in a cozy and modern setting. Some water views from different rooms. Great value and I will be placing quest who come and visit me in this house. I only hope is it will be available when I need it. Thanks Catherine.. love what your builder created, you must love it too.... R Winters

  • We really enjoyed our winter stay at Sally's funky and cozy little spot. Easily walkable to everything -thoughtfully stocked with good coffee, bread, and eggs. Toasty warm when the downeast winter winds are blowing.

  • What an adorable little house for a weekend away. it’s a little old and creaky, but the vintage style makes it adorable yet functional. We had everything we needed to stay for a couple days and explore Eastport and the surrounding areas of New Brunswick. The IGA was just around the corner, but our host was kind enough to leave jam, butter, eggs, bread, half and half, sugar, and coffee for our visit. The cast iron tub/ sit down shower was a nice relaxing treat to soak at the end of the day. I would absolutely stay here again- thanks for a great visit!

  • This space is wonderful. It has a very artistic and relaxed vibe, and the host was so thoughtful. From the first contact (where I asked lots of questions and wanted to have a flexible arrival time) Sally was open, helpful and responsive. The house is remarkably warm and cozy and has everything you need. Don was our on-site host and was very respectful - he left us fresh eggs and artisan bread and other supplies to make our stay easier. The walk downtown to the restaurant would have been very do-able (had it not been for the crazy fog and wind that night!), and the restaurant and hiking recommendations Sally gave us were spot-on. We had a wonderful time, and if we return to Eastport we would definitely stay again.

  • Helen was a lovely host. Waking up with a unique view every morning was awesome. We even enjoyed a nice breakfast with her and one of her friend. The little dog is cute and friendly. Had a relaxing time there. We would definitely recommend it.

    Felix2018-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Helen was welcoming and friendly and she made us feel comfortable in her rustic home. We appreciated the large bright bedroom overlooking the cove, and the spacious bathroom. Both were modern and spotless. She provided coffee, juice, fruit, bread and jam in the morning and we were able to sit at her kitchen table where we could view the water. We were a short drive away from Eastport, which is an artsy community and we also visited Campobello which was a little over a half hour's drive. There are trails nearby but we did not have time to explore them. Helen could tell you about these. We would definitely stay again if we were in the area.

  • This is an amazing place to stay and is like staying in a ritzy hotel for half the price

  • We very much enjoyed our stay at Helen's farm house. The addition she has for guests, is very spacious and comfortable. Helen is a very warm and welcoming host and does those special little things, to make your stay more enjoyable. We stayed at 6 air bnb's in the last week, and enjoyed our stay at Helen's the most! Not to mention, you can lay in bed and see the water view. PEACEFUL! I would definitly stay again!

This is a sweet little spot only a 5 minute walk from the waterfront with restaurants, piers, fishing boats, pole fishing on the breakwater, natural foods store, library, coffee shop and bakery! STEEP stairs to loft bedroom make it great for young people and SPRY older folks but NOT for anyone with walking or climbing impairment. Perfect writer's retreat, for couples on a getaway, or stay longer to explore Eastport and the whole area! Park and also enter to the right of the house at the back.
This is a very old house and you can see that in the exposed hand-hewn beams down stairs. The shower is in an old clawfoot tub. It's frankly a tad bit cramped because of the shower curtains but we have an on-demand water heater so the hot water never runs out! Or move the shower curtains and take a lovely bath! The kitchen has the basics if you want to cook breakfast, make sandwiches or a simple meal. We provide high quality coffee beans and a coffee grinder so you can have a great cup of coffee first thing in the morning if you want (half & half is in the freezer!) WE LOVE IT IF YOU REMOVE YOUR SHOES AT THE DOOR! This protects the painted floors and makes it easy for us to clean. There are sheets in the bathroom for the futon if you want to use it for sleeping in addition to the queen size platform bed upstairs. There's a gas heater that quickly heats the unit. We ask you NOT to use the wood stove. There is so much to see and explore in Eastport and surrounds. Campobello Island is particularly amazing with whales often visible off the upper end. (Hidden by Airbnb) it and local tide tables so you can arrive at low tide and climb out to the historic lighthouse. Also the Roosevelt "cottage" is amazing. Of course there's Shackford Head Park and trail right in Eastport which has gorgeous sweeping views of the bay.
There is an incredible greenhouse across the street that has fresh organic vegetables and eggs for sale. The very friendly owner, Will, is there a lot and is happy to chat about the amazing solar heated greenhouse that operates all year round. Eastport is generally very safe but it is of course best to lock the door when you leave.
  • Sally‘s place was amazing - very cute and homey, we loved it! The bed is very comfortable and cozy on the upper floor and the kitchen has everything you could need in it. Communication with Sally was very quick and easy, she immediately answered when the hot water boiler was not working and did everything in her power to fix it. We would definitely recommend Sally‘s place and would love to return if we are ever in the area again.

    Aurelia2018-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Sally responded quickly and communicated well. Her place offers parking, privacy, and is a short walk to restaurants, etc. in town.

    Jaime2018-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute and comfortable space with everything we needed. Around the corner from the historic downtown, restaurants, and waterfront.

    Isis2018-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Spent two wonderful weeks at Sally's charming and beautiful place. The bed was super comfortable and the little loft totally cozy. It was the perfect place for a little writing retreat wigh some exploring on the side.

    Aimee2018-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Sally’s place is very charming! The sleeping loft is so fun, and the downstairs space is cozy with everything you need. The location is also great, a very easy walk to downtown Eastport. I would happily stay here again!

    Campbell2018-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet neighborhood with an ocean view. Eastport is one of Maine's little known gems. This was my first experience with airb&b. Was impressed with the planning by Sally to make the process and accommodations work without a hitch.

    James2018-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in Eastport was brief but enjoyable. Sally's place in in a great location, easy to find and a very short walk to the restaurants and such downtown. The check in process was easy and Sally's communication was quick and helpful. The coffee she left was also amazing- thanks! As an added bonus while we were sitting outside we had the opportunity to interact with three deer that kept running past the apartment and eventually set up shop in the small clearing across the street.

    Nathan2018-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • This little apartment is quite cute and surprisingly spacious! It's in the perfect location, five minute walk downtown. We were in town right when the 4th of July festivities were kicking off and loved seeing the town come together. I didn't meet Sally, but she was very helpful with things to do and made check in a breeze. Overall stay in Eastport was great!

  • Beautiful home overlooking the Bay. Campobello island is a small Canadian island that is quiet and perfect for a relaxing vacation. The home was perfect for our family of 9. The host responded quickly to all my questions. This definitely was a little piece of heaven and hope to come back again!

  • Lovely house, great view, gracious host, delicious breakfast - and all on an island with lots of things to see and do.

    Irv2017-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Not just a unique home but a beautiful home with a great view and location. Our host, never, was very supportive in identifying local attractions and destinations. She served a wonderful breakfast every morning, and was very kind, informative, and delightful. I would rate is higher than five stars if it was possible. Great opportunity to also meet fellow travelers.

  • Neva and Ryan are wonderful hosts! Everything about their Campobello home is magical. From the whales in the bay to the Eagles soaring by, one is truly bathed in nature at this home. They are considerate, kind hosts who have always been super responsive and helpful. We have rented three times in one year from them - and we never travel to the same place twice! - so that says it all!!

    Laura2017-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Neva is an excellent host with a beautiful, scenic house right on the bay. It was the perfect place for my friend and I to stay during travels in Canada. Neva is happy to answer any questions and loves Campobello Island. Also, breakfast was delicious :) We felt so very welcome in her home and on the island.

    Amy2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • If we could Neva 10 stars we certainly would. Whoever said she belongs in the AirBnB hall of fame was spot on! Everything was perfect from the perfect accommodations, to the local tips, the view, and the delicious breakfasts! Campobello is definitely a great destination and if you are lucky enough to stay at Neva’s you won’t be disappointed one little bit!

    Shelah2018-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Neva's B&B and our week spent in Campobello was easily one of our best weeks of all time. Neva's place was clean, the breakfast was exceptional, and the location perfect. Campobello's history and natural beauty was far more than we expected. The walking trails suited are hiking abilities and tastes. Fogfest, an island arts festival, was an added bonus. Highly recommended!

Your cell-signal may be iffy at the cottage...but if you turn call-over-wifi on, you will be covered.

  • we had a great trip to Lubec! the cottage is only a few min walk to local restauants in town but private with amazing views! we were so glad our dog was able to come, he loved running around in the yard. we loved all the toiletries and maps/ brochures/menus there were laid out for guests! there were a few hiccups as we were the first renters but everything worked out. they asked for input to improve future stays and really seem to care that everyone enjoys their stay. would definitely stay again and recommend to other travelers 😀

  • Logement très agréable. Nous n'avons malheureusement pas pu profiter de la vue visiblement superbe, ni le soir, ni le matin en raison d'un brouillard persistant. Le petit-déjeuner était excellent.

  • My stay with Neva was perfection. She is an amazing host.......thoughtful, amenable, knows the island inside and out. Her home is immaculate, gorgeous, with an incredible view of the bay. Campobello is a treasure, and this is the perfect place to enjoy it.

    Karla2018-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful home with stunning views of the water and immaculate, wonderfully comfortable rooms. The building itself is a gem? Neva was a wonderful hostess, warm, friendly, tuned in and full of excellent recommendations for activities on Campobello Island. Breakfast was worth the journey: delicious, ample and with interesting discussions with Neva and other guests. FDR's home in the Roosevelt Campobello Island International Park is inspiring and wonderfully set up, and don't miss Tea with Eleanor. The island also has wonderful trails, and the hike to the lighthouse (at low tide!) which Neva recommended is memorable. We definitely want to come back and spend more time here.

    Jonathan2017-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Neva's home was an amazing stay on a trip into Canada. The home has exceptional views of the waterfront and received a great deal of natural light during the day. I was very impressed by the overall design of the interior of the house and the room itself. I booked this listing on a whim and was throughly surprised at how Neva's house exceeded my expectations. The sunset views on the loan and through the deck are amazing during the summer months and worth the stay for that alone. Bathrooms were also nice, and breakfast was an added bonus in the morning!

    Tim2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful knotty pine home with an amazing view. Neva is a very gracious host.

    Blair2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful home with a wonderful and delightful host. Neva gave us easy directions to locate the home even though we arrived after dark. The home is located in the perfect spot to explore Campobello island and the Roosevelt park and is an easy drive back to Lubec or Quoddy State park. It has an amazing view of the bay out the large windows. Definitely would stay here again and again. Delicious muffins Neva, and thank you for a wonderful stay.

Water view, neighbor on one side/cliff on 2 sides. Quieter and more yard space than many downtown rentals, but a short drive or bike ride to store, Shackford Head (hiking), and downtown area. It is not uncommon to see deer in the back yard.
  • This is a great home base for a vacation in Eastport and the surrounding area— especially if you plan to cook and have laundry to do. Well appointed, clean, and plenty of room for the six adults who stayed during our trip. Sandra was a great host with quick communication, and when an unexpected plumbing issue came up, she took care of it while we were out and about the area with a local plumbing company. The road in front is a main thoroughfare that sees frequent traffic, but that did not stop us from enjoying the front porch. The view of Carrying Place Cove is wonderful— sunsets in particular!

    Mike2018-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Sandra was a WONDERFUL host. We never met in person, but she was very quick to respond to any questions we had (usually within a matter of minutes). Our main goal for this trip was just to relax, and the house was perfect for that. And as an added bonus, there are gorgeous sunsets right outside the living room window. She provided any kitchen utensil you could need, plus movies, books, games and even a canoe. Sandra's house offers WiFi, which was especially nice to have because cell phone service in the area is not great. Maybe another provider would be better, but I have AT&T and kept picking up Canadian cell towers whenever we left the house. So my only caution about staying here would be to just be sure and watch your cell phone bill if you're picking up Canadian towers! Other than that, we couldn't have asked for anything more!

    Bonnie2016-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great house, all the comforts of home. Super great for families! So bummed we couldn’t secure it again for next year! Great place.

    Liz2018-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • This home is a gem! We were on a roadtrip from Florida to visit our daughter in Maine. Sandra was very accommodating and organized. The beds were comfy and the house was clean. The view of the water across the street was breathtaking and the privacy was a much needed break from the huslte and bustle of everyday life. My boys loved the bunk beds and play room. My husband and I appreciated the full kitchen and washer and dryer. The downtown area is just a few minute drive away with great food and shopping. I would love to stay here again next time we visit Maine!

Private OCEANFRONT COTTAGE on 4 acres
This is a seasonal cottage located directly on Straight Bay in Lubec, Maine. There are two bedrooms and comfortable for up to four people. All you need to bring is your personal items. Most of what you need to enjoy your stay is already in the cottage. Washer and dryer, refrigerator, stove, fireplace, kitchen utensils, linens, etc. The attached pictures will give you an idea. The location is very private and no close neighbors. Sitting on the porch you would have a panoramic view of bay. You would see two islands that are protected nesting areas for Bald Eagles that are seen almost daily hunting for fish and other prey. Several other islands in the bay that can be seen from the cottage are hangouts for seals. In June it .is common to see mother seals and their babies basking in the sun. It is a great uncrowded area to kayak or canoe. Miles of pristine bold coastline, places to dig soft shell clams, fish, or take great pictures. This area of Maine is part of the Bay of Fundy. The tide rises and falls about 22 feet twice a day. In the bay the process is quietly observed with islands appearing and then disappearing. A great place to use as a base to explore the Downeast area visiting lighthouses, some of the many restaurants, whale watching, or just staying at the cottage exploring the bay and hiking the many scenic nearby trails
Uncrowded wooded setting. No close neighbors
  • Absolutely incredible location and scenery. The ocean view is outstanding and the dwelling itself provides everything you need and more. James goes above and beyond the call to cater to your every need. From local tips, fire wood, clean dishes, and lots of space this place has everything you could possibly ask for and more. Sitting at the fire pit was such a tranquil experience. Loved this place, will plan to go back someday down the road.

    Luke2018-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • Remote, rustic cabin with stunning views. We kayaked from the house all around straight bay and enjoyed spectacular vistas and wild life. Spent two hours watching a bald eagle one day. No human sounds to speak of - so quiet.Easy drive to grocery in Lubec. Also an easy drive over the border to Canada’s Campobello Island.

    Sharon2018-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Had great vacation, many extra's. like menu's for places to eat, apples in the basket welcoming us . brochures of things to do and see. TV set up with VSH & DVD player. Fire wood for fire pit.

  • It is a quaint rustic cottage on Straight Bay. Absolutely beautiful are! Great place to escape to and experience all the wonderful outdoor offerings of Northern Maine. Lubec is a wonderful small town with some great places to eat and the local surrounding areas offer lots of hiking and kayaking options. We enjoyed our time and stay at this Cottage. Had an indecent with the water pressure and notified the host who was immediately attentive to the issue.

My place is steps from the beach. It's a quarter mile walk to downtown. Get away from technology: there's no TV, no wifi, no phone. There is good cellular coverage in the area (usually) if you need to be connected. Relax. Play board games, read a book, grill outside, walk on the beach, unwind and smell the salty sea breeze. Listen to the foghorns, explore the beautiful area. A beautiful spot to spend a weekend or a few weeks. Discuss bringing your pet(s)! And beware if you're allergic.
  • Wonderful place with the charm of Eastport. Owners are great and helpful.

    Dave2016-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Really cozy and spacious house. It is very close to the ocean where we were able to pick up lots of sea glass. While there is no TV or WIFI, there are plenty of games available and an array of books if you love reading. Traveled with our kids and they too had time to pick from the selection of books. We enjoyed our time there and had a chance to visit other neighboring towns and did lots of hiking and just taking in the beauty of the ocean. We would love to be able to rent the house again in the future. We were also pretty independent when we got there. Neighbors were very friendly for suggestions on things like when the tide is high and when it's low.

    Agnes2016-09-02T00:00:00Z

  • This is a beautiful, charming home, in a beautiful location a short walk from downtown Eastport- itself a charming village full of artists. The house is old and deeply loved, clearly well taken care of, full of beautiful light, books and touches. We are three book loving women with three small dogs... It is not an exaggeration to say we stumbled on the perfect AirbnB for us. I've been using AirbnB for years, and this was by far the most wonderful experience I've had.

    Katharine2018-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • This little house by the sea was just perfect for our weekend birthday event. My mother was celebrating her 60th birthday and we wanted to rent a house in Eastport, because it's our favorite town in Maine. Although my family was born and raised in Washington County, we don't have any property in Eastport (yet). Now that Airbnb exists, we can stay in some of the beautiful older homes in town, just like this one. This house has so much character. There are books everywhere, a charming kitchen, a big spacious living room where we laughed and laughed over cake and ice cream. We got the cake from the bakery down on Main Street in Eastport and it was absolutely delicious. My brother and I both agreed that we need to rent this house again in the summer. I grew up farther inland in a little town called Princeton, but Eastport has my heart. I love it so much, and I love this house. I can't wait to come back!

    Lola2016-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved Kim's house in Eastport! My boys loved exploring the unique house and seeing the antiques throughout the house. They also enjoyed taking an outdoor shower (not something we can do in Chicago)!! The house was close to everything we were looking to do and Kim's suggestions for places to visit and restaurants were extremely helpful! She even helped me with cooking my first ever lobsters! Thanks again for everything! It was a great visit!

    Chris2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • I don't think the pictures quite do the house justice. Everyone thought it was much nicer in person. All 8 of us were very pleased with our stay at this quaint old house in Eastport. We loved all the antiques and unique decorative items in the house as well as all the shelves and shelves of books to peruse. Plenty of room to spread out with couches in the living room as well as the front porch. We discovered a couple days in that the kitchen table expands quite a bit so we were all able to eat at the same table. There was lots to do in the area as well. We visited Quoddy Head lighthouse (a must!), reversing falls about an hour before high tide to watch seals jumping and playing in the water and bald eagles soaring over head, walks along Eastport's main street and ocean walk, Cobsckook Bay state park and the mustard museum (we bought a small case. Yum!). We also enjoyed sitting along the shore down the street at the public access and reading books while we watched boats go by and our kids paddled the kayaks in the bay. Lots of sea glass and shell collecting made the kids pretty happy. The one thing that would have made things a little easier would be having an indoor shower, and do make a note of that if it's something you need to have. I sort of missed that when I booked (my own fault), but we managed. Having 8 people in our trip made that a little tricky with only having an indoor bath. There was a handheld shower attachment on the faucet so that was a convenient touch anyway. We did very much appreciate having a washer and dryer in the house though with this many people! Thanks Kim for your hospitality. We appreciated having an affordable and fun family vacation in downeast Maine.

  • We had a wonderful time. This is a quintessential Coastal Maine home in a terrific location. The house has everything needed for comfort and relaxation and a great personality. There is a large lovely yard and ocean views. The hosts are friendly and responsive and Eastport is full of lovely spots to explore.

The Artist's Cabin sits on the very edge of the Bay of Fundy and offers breathtaking views of the Bay, Kilmarnock Head, and Ministers Island. Located about 8 minutes from St. Andrews, it is within easy reach of extraordinary restaurants, grocery stores, a lively arts scene, great cafes, a world-class golf course, and amazing outdoor adventure opportunities including kayaking, hiking, and whale watching. The views will take your breath away and the local people will welcome you with open arms.
Small Cabin right by the ocean. Beautiful trails to walk around the property with fields of horses, peacocks, swans and geese. Secluded but only a short drive away from the town of St. Andrews.
  • We had a wonderful short trip at this beautiful location. Krista and Jordy are great hosts, available when needed, and the space is thoughtfully setup, very practical. I would gladly return!

    Isabelle2016-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely gorgeous scenic, quiet and calm place to getaway. Our toddler even enjoyed the trip, plus the cute downtown isn't too far away for local shopping and dining out. We would love to visit again someday!

    Saleh2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • The Artist's Cabin is truly a piece of paradise — it rejuvenated our mind, body, and soul. The property is quiet, secluded, and is wonderfully nestled by the waters of McCann Cove. The cabin included everything we needed, was cosy, and more importantly comfortable. The views and nature were breathtaking and we couldn't have picked a better place to relax and unwind! I especially liked the fresh flowers that were left for us by Krista & Jordy. I would highly recommend anyone stay that appreciates nature and privacy. I most certainly will be coming back.

    Trevor2017-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is like a dream. Absolutely peaceful and scenic. Relaxing on the porch/deck really allows you to let go of the outside world/work/life stressors. I highly recommend staying. There is one bed and a futon in the living room. There are all the comforts you may need - shower, toilet, towels, plates, cups, silverware, refrigerator... But really, all you need is that ocean front relaxation.

    Kathleen2017-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful location and cabin. The Fundy coastline is a fantastic place to experience with gorgeous water views and life and a stunning backdrop long for beach walks. Highly recommend this cozy, unique cabin.

  • Spectacular scenery; well-appointed and stylish accommodations; lovely hosts who are very helpful

    Debra2018-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • We called it heaven. The cottage was perfect, clean and well decorated. The windows all over made you feel as though you were part of the bay. We greatly enjoyed walking along the beach and the paths, picking up seashells and sea glass. Krista and Jordy as well as John and Daryll were friendly and helpfull and they did everything possible to make you feel welcome. The only bad thing I would say about our stay is that it had to end.

    Marie-Claude2016-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • The Artist's Cabin is a beautiful, cozy and private oasis. Krista and Jordy are very accommodating, welcoming and helpful hosts. The cabin is in the most amazing location. It is directly on the ocean and it is surrounded on three sides by water. There are plenty of windows in the cabin that allow you to take in the breathtaking view, or you can sit in the chairs on the deck and take in the smell and sounds of the ocean. The private road to access the cabin is a great place to walk at sunset, and it is lined with rolling fields with friendly horses! The cabin is fully equipped with anything you might need, and it is 10 minutes from downtown St Andrews. We feel so fortunate to have found this beautiful place to stay.

High above the sea, this tastefully decorated cottage is a dream. Stunning views across the bay, watercolor sunsets, large deck with seating and grill, and very pleasant and comfortable interior. This cottage is located on a quiet dead end lane yet is in the village! Walk to everything...waterfront, concerts, restaurants, library, brew pub, museum and beach. 3 bedrooms, large well-equipped kitchen, dining room, living room, delightful sunroom. Explore Lubec from this peaceful sanctuary.
Stunning "hilltop" (small hill!) view of Cobscook Bay. Exquisite sunsets. Boats in the bay, eagles in the air, great birding area. The cottage has a lovely kitchen with great windows looking out to the bay. A good-sized deck and sunroom are also facing the bay. Comfy beds and bedding, freshly renovated charm and more than adequate seating allows for a completely relaxing vacation.
Quiet, residential neighborhood tucked in on a dead-end street.
  • My wife and I stayed here for a week and loved every bit of it. It was a central location to visit all the state parks in the area, as well as surrounding towns and Canada. You don't need a car for anything that you want to do in Lubec, this house is so close to downtown or just a stroll along the water. And if you are like me, and like to drink your coffee or have a nightcap outside, that deck provides an amazing view of the bay. Or in the three-season porch, if it gets cold. A picture perfect sunset or an mystical covering of the bay with fog, both are there for you! The house is clean and well kept, but still keeps the structural charm of an old, seaside cottage. Karen was very responsive to any issues we had, like Wifi password issues, and always willing to give an insiders tip, like getting our veggies at the Hannaford in Machias over the IGA in town. This place felt like home by the time we left.

    Benjamin2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • This very pretty and well-appointed cottage is creatively decorated with seaside touches. The view from the kitchen and the back patio is spectacular. The roomy cottage had more than we needed and we really felt at home during our stay.

    George2018-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Karen's place was amazing! The kitchen was awesome and looks over the bay. The sunroom was warm on a cooler day or evening. The deck - what a view! The beds were comfortable and the house is very tastefully decorated. Amazing place!

  • Great house in the easternmost city in the USA. The view and patio were spectacular. House was well equipped including washer/dryer and nicely decorated. Beds were very comfortable. Lubec is a neat small town and you can cross the bridge to Canada to go whale watching. We enjoyed hiking all the conservation lands in this part of Maine. Karen was a great host with local information about the area.

    John2017-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Whales Ledge is a gorgeous home located in a great spot in Lubec. We were able to walk along the coast road along the town to eat at the Inn at the Wharf, take photos of the lobster boats, and watch seals bobbing along the waters. The deck has a great view over the water!! The kitchen has large windows overlooking the view also, and is very well equipped with everything you will need. The town is charming...lots of lovely homes and small businesses to souvenir shop, have ice cream, and check out the history. You will enjoy your stay here, as we did.

Located just 5 minutes from St. George this cute lakefront Cottage has all the comforts of home plus a private beach and use of the dock to fish or if you have a watercraft. You can sit on the covered deck and enjoy the view or if your up for sightseeing you are only 15 minutes from the Fundy Coast, Greens Point Lighthouse and the Deer Island Ferry. Within a 30 min drive is the beautiful resort town of St. Andrews, and Calais Maine If this Cottage is too small, check out our other larger one.
Enjoy the beauty of the lake from the deck right on the Lakeshore, fish from the dock or relax on the private beach. We are very pet friendly!
Just 5 minutes from St. George you are close to restaurants, Butcher Shop, dollar store, Bakery, 24 hour Gas Station, Tim Hortons, Robin's Donuts, Grocery Stores, Liquor Store. The beautiful Canal Beach is minutes away if you decide to take a break from your private beach.
  • This very new, cozy, clean, secluded cottage with beautiful sunrise views on Lake Utopia (and only a 5-10 minute drive from a great country market & bakery, a pub and a thrift store in St. George) was perfect for the two of us.  The cathedral ceilings made the one-room cabin feel quite big. The kitchen was great for cooking up breakfasts with a two-burner electric cooktop, toaster oven and microwave.  There's even a small crock pot we'll use next time. The Keurig was great with complementary coffee, tea and hot chocolate. That said, within a 10-minute drive, there are several eat-in or take-out options, when we didn't feel like cooking! We enjoyed our mornings on the deck and campfires at night. Hosts supplied all the firewood, for use in the nice fire pit, just steps from the cottage.  We loved watching the moonrise across the lake.  (Next time we hope to come back around the new moon, for even better stargazing!) All communications with our hosts were easy and fast, via text, thought they made it known that they were available, if we needed anything. They live up the hill, but we only saw them while passing by them on the gravel driveway. We will be back!!!

  • This place is so beautiful, simple and quiet. We enjoyed an amazing lake view watching the moonrise and sunrise. An amazing getaway! Will definitely book again.

  • We had a great stay at the cabin! The location is very beautiful and peaceful. It was so nice waking up to be a stone’s throw away from Lake Utopia. The location is very private and a great vacation getaway spot. Sherry and Gord were great hosts as well. We mentioned we were going to have a bonfire and they brought us down an extra wheel barrel of fire wood, without us even asking! I would highly recommend staying here.

    Kaitlin2018-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • My best air bnb experience! The cottage exceeded our expectations and the location is breathtaking! While still being conveniently in the little town of St. George, it felt very private and secluded. Only 30 minutes from St. Andrews, we took a couple quick trips to the adorable waterfront town to see the Kingsbrae Gardens and the Algonquin. At the cottage, we cooked most of our meals in the well equipped kitchen or on the bbq. We also roasted marshmallows on the fire pit outside. Our hosts had handy things like toothpaste, bug spray, coffee and cream, etc. to make sure we had everything we need. We ate most of our meals on the deck or in the picnic table on the property. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom spacious enough with a shower. I would 100% stay again and I recommend it for a couple or even a family with 1 or 2 small children. Thanks again to our lovely hosts for such a wonderful stay!

    Charlotte2018-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Had a fantastic and relaxing time with my boyfriend and my dog on Lake Utopia! Such a cozy feel to the cottage and amazing view of the lake. Short 5 minute car ride to the cute town of St. George. Really great hosts and would 100% recommend!

  • What an amazing experience. Cosy and clean, with fantastic hosts-and very friendly neighbors. Made us feel very much at home. There wasn't a day where we didn't marvel at this hidden little bit of paradise. We're already making plans for next year.

    Robin2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I had an amazing stay. Having our morning coffee sitting beachside, or on the deck looking out at beautiful lake was just a single highlight. Our girls, and goldens, enjoyed swimming in the lake. Very quiet and peaceful. Would highly recommend to anyone that enjoys lakefront and some R&R. It's just a bonus that the hosts were great too.

Our suite was completely renovated in 2017. It is bright, cheerful and provides a relaxing environment for our guests to enjoy. We have a bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. A separate sitting area with a kitchenette.
We offer a private sitting area with a fully equipped kitchenette, microwave, small fridge, toaster oven and a single induction cook plate. The bedroom has a queen size bed and an en suite bathroom with a shower.
Deer Island is the smallest of the Fundy Isles composed of a number of small quaint fishing villages, several convenience stores, a gas station and a scenic campground overlooking the largest tidal whirlpool in the Western Hemisphere. Lobster fishing (including the worlds largest lobster pound) and salmon aquaculture are the main industries. A great place for birding, photography, whale watching, kayaking and beach combing.
  • We had a great stay with Marian and Brian. The space is clean, quiet, and thoughtfully decorated. Marian made an extensive breakfast for us each morning. Her home is walkable to the only restaurant on the island as well as a little store. She and Brian were accommodating and wonderful to talk to during breakfast. This is a great place to go to unplug without wanting of any creature comforts. We were able to do some hiking, biking, and whale watching. The government run ferry makes the mainland very accessible and we spent two afternoons exploring that area of NB. Overall it was the perfect last minute vacation we were looking for and would recommend this stay to anyone who'd like some quiet time away.

    Maria2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Completely renovated, great breakfast each morning and extremely knowledgeable about the island.

    James2018-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay in Deer island. Marian and Brian were great hosts. They provided an excellent breakfast and the room was very clean. They were very accomedating to our dog, ; they had a little station set up for the dog's food and water.

    Courtney2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Marian's place is beautifully situated on the water and conveniently located if you are coming up from Maine and plan to go to Campobello Island- one of the best places to embark on a Whale watching cruise. Marian made us wonderful breakfasts and our two rooms were equivalent to an efficiency. Loved our stay! Be sure to take the free ferry and drive to the very charming seaside town of St. Andrew's in NB.

    Mary2017-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely little stay we had with our hosts! The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you might need (induction cooktop and pans, salad spinner, wine corker, to name a few that I was surprised by). The beds were hotel-level comfy, soap and shampoo supplied for the convenient en suite bathroom, and we were even offered the grill to cook dinner. There was a lovely trail from the back yard down to a beautiful little cove, where our dog had a great time exploring. The host were just the nicest people, and cooked us sausages and pancakes for breakfast! I absolutely recommend this stay, it is worth the ferry. Do be mindful that there is no alcohol for purchase on the island, and be careful of little stingy fire ants in the driveway.

    Margaret2017-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay with Marian and Brian. The space was as described. It was clean, charmingly decorated and private, although access is through the deck door of their house. The room and bed were very comfortable. The deck provides a nice view of the bay, the sunset and wildlife (we saw hummingbirds, a deer and a heron). Excellent hosts; we were very comfortable there. We were treated to a full breakfast of OJ, fruit, bread, rolls, eggs, sausage and coffee and tea. Wonderful!

    Terence2017-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Marian and Brian have a very nice apartment, well furnished, spacious, overlooking the Bay of Fundy and were very friendly and helpful. We couldn't have asked for a nicer accommodation or more gracious hosts. Pam and Dave

  • This spot is lovely--the pictures don't do it justice! It's a beautiful space with lots of room and everything you need. It's tastefully decorated, and is probably the cleanest airbnb I've ever stayed at. The space is very private, despite being in the owner's home, so no need to worry about being in someone else's space. The hosts are lovely--we had a great time. This is certainly a great deal for the price~ if we're ever travelling in the area again, we'll be sure to come back and stay longer next time!

  • Katherine and Karl are absolutely wonderful. Great conversation and we felt right at home. The apartment comes with all needed amenities and is sparkling clean. Deer Island is beautiful, on a small island there is so much sight seeing to do, from combing the beaches after the tide goes out to watching the deer in the lawn. 10/10 would recommend this location!

    Keyan2018-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Katherine's home is very clean and nice to stay in! We would definitely recommend staying here.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The views of the water from the apartment are beautiful. The place was very clean and Katherine was an excellent host. We wish we had more time to spend in the area.

    Andrew2018-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful first experience in Canada. Staying with Katherine was a positive addition to the trip. The ferry trip on/off the island was really easy and offered beautiful views. Note (in case you have issues with heights) there are stairs to get in/out of apartment. The apartment is comfortable and cozy. No a/c but really didn't need it with windows open. No concern for safety as apartment is not ground level. Welcome view of harbor boats. Note that things might close early and open late so plan to bring some snacks, etc if that's important to you. There is a stove, etc for cooking.

    Pamela2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • We were blown away by just about everything. Deer Island is a veritable gem of a getaway, varying between scenic morning mists and beautiful sunny afternoons. There are plenty of locations for hiking and swimming. The suite was immaculate, well-kept and very cozy. Katherine was the most hospitable host one could imagine, and then some. Deer Island easily exceeded our expectations, we would definitely stay here again.

    Fedor2018-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place to stay! Deer Island is a beautiful retreat.

    Laura2018-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had not stayed in Deer Island for many years and found it as we remembered, peaceful and beautiful. Katherine's place is convenient to the ferry landing and in a beautiful old home. We were her first Airbnb guests and we were delighted by her hospitality. The apartment is light and airy with interesting views of the working waterfront. The space is fine for two people but since dining opportunities and groceries are limited on the island bring food that is easy to prepare. There is no oven but there is a stovetop and microwave as well as a full sized refrigerator. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the bed is comfortable.

Our lovely modern 2 bedroom apartment overlooks the harbor, is right on Water Street, Eastport's main street, and is easy walking distance from restaurants, shops, ferry ( not working during summer 2018, we're really hoping it returns in 2019!), library, pier...everything! It has a full kitchen, living room with amenities.
This is the best location in the entire city of Eastport! Very centrally located, you can walk to everything! Watching the boats come into the harbor, seeing whales, porpoises, seals, eagles from your window, seeing the sun rise each morning over Campobello Island, unbeatable!
Located in downtown Eastport, guests can walk to restaurants, shops, galleries, post office, library, grocery store, ferry to Canada. They can get fresh seafood on the water, go fishing off the pier, go on a whale watch.
  • We had a great experience staying here. It's a nice town, apartment was well-kept and in a good location in the town. Tom and Barbara were helpful getting us started at check-in. Very pleased overall!

    Matthew2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Tom and Barbara met us promptly and greeted us both with open arms. They reviewed the apartment amenities and guidelines. They took the time out of their day to get to know us for few minutes. They then provided contact numbers should we need support during our stay. Tom and Barbara are without a doubt the nicest people we've ever met; thoughtful, helpful, and knowledgable. The apartment...the apartment was outstanding. Incredibly close to downtown, with steps to stores, coffee shop, and boat landing. It is unbelievably comfortable, quite, open, and cozy. The view from the deck is spectacular and provides a stellar view for the morning sunrise. A truly relaxing space. We LOVED the apartment and are so thankful Tom and Barbara offer such a wonderful space. We cannot wait to rent it again...and we will.

  • Knock-out beautiful place to stay. At main downtown Eastport intersection. Walk to everything. Construction proceeding intermittently on the Eastport breakwater adjacent to the same part of the harbor but nights were quiet when we were there.

    Heather2017-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great place and location. Thomas and Barbara were very friendly. Would definitely stay there again and recommend to others.

    Lorraine2016-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • It was comfortable and convenient. Great sunrise view. We especially liked the harbor view and watching the boats.

    Gail2017-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about the apartment was perfect! The hosts met us there and were very welcoming. The apartment was spotless, spacious and comfortable. The view is gorgeous...the pier is being repaired so there were less boats to see so the view is a little bit different. We saw Minke whales from the deck! The apartment is in the heart of Eastport everything was within easy walking distance.

  • The Whale themed cottage was wonderful for us. Great location , amenities and house decorations charming; the cottage was very clean and quiet, with great communication from the owner. The cottage and host were outstanding and we would be pleased to stay there again. We give it 5 stars !

  • This home is wonderfully close to downtown with views of the water and tons of sunlight. The deck and balcony are inviting. The bedrooms are quiet, the beds are very comfortable---we slept great! Our dog loved strolling around the neighborhood, down to the beach, up through town for a little dog treat from many of the businesses. Lubec is very dog-friendly! We loved the books, games, puzzles, fully-equipped kitchen, cable/wifi, and the washer/dryer. We will definitely be back to this cottage!

  • This is a beautiful home in a quiet, secluded, and peaceful location, perfect for those wanting privacy and to commune with nature. The house has everything, including an old fashioned claw-foot tub for a hot bath, a magnificent fireplace, and many fun, family games to play. With many great hikes nearby and the incredible Downeast, Maine scenery all around, this place is hard to beat!

  • This is the perfect location if you’re looking for privacy, a great view and top notch amenities. During extreme low tide, my dog and I were able to walk long distances along the beach. Sunsets on the bay were amazing and we even made a bonfire one night. Sue is a gracious and attentive host. The many tips and recommendations she provided helped a lot as this was my first trip to Maine.

  • This big beautiful log home is perfect for a quiet retreat on the Maine coast. Surrounded by woods and the ocean, we didn't see any neighbors all weekend. The house is great and the sauna even better. I would recommend to anybody wanting to get away from it all
