Lugares para alojarse en Muskoka Lakes

Lugares para alojarse en Muskoka Lakes
Built into a forested hill beside a river, with a sleeping loft and in-floor radiant heating in a granite flagstone floor, a kitchenette and a three piece washroom, the studio is the perfect place to relax, rejuvenate or retreat into creative work.
Whispering River Studio Retreat is just 10 minutes from Parry Sound and located in a woods of old growth white pine, maple, oak and birch, on the banks of the Seguin River. In spring the scent of flowering crab and apple trees, wild roses, lilacs and pin cherries fill the air. Fall features gorgeous colour on the hills, and nearby hikes feature views of the rocks and cliffs that make this area famous throughout September, October, November and early December. Winter is beautiful too - the season of retreat and rejuvenation is filled with pristine vistas - and lots of snow for the dedicated snowshoe-er or cross country skier! If you want to enjoy a community Christmas, come and enjoy the many, many local activities centered around this warm and friendly time of year. You are welcome to relax in the loft, the house's screened in porch, or on the studio porch or the look out and enjoy the gentle whisper of the river, or the wind in the pines. A short walk by the river is beloved by most guests - especially in the mornings when the mist often streams of the water. There is a Heintzman upright grand piano in good condition the house that you are welcome to use. My baby grand in a nearby gallery is also available for rehearsals, workshops and concerts upon arrangement. During the summer the Festival of the Sound at the Stocky Center is home to an International Classical Music Festival. String Quartets, classical and contemporary concert music artists grace the stage, and provide unparalleled musical inspiration for people drawn from all over the world. An organic meal plan is available for guests from Mrs. Wilson's Kitchen -a nearby health inspected bakery that offers meals to go. This is an all organic bakery located 7 minutes drive over a country road from the house, built on a registered Canadian homestead. I am happy to put you in touch with Mrs. Wilson so that you can choose your meals in advance. I have a propane gas stove, washer and dryer, and will provide you with bedding. There is a large whirlpool tub to relax in after a long hike through the maples, a paddle down the river, or a ski on a nearby trail. The Seguin River flows swiftly to Mountain Basin Lake - a short 15 minute paddle from the house. You can take trips in either direction. There is excellent canoeing ( although in late August and September the water is very low - but it is still well worth doing the two or three lift-over through shallows), hiking, cross- country skiing, snowshoeing, fishing and hunting nearby. Deer Run Golf Course, a beautiful informal course with a waterfall in its backyard, is just across the road.
Parry Sound is a thriving town. Boat tours, a major classical music festival, and a wide variety of summer and winter sports are centered here. Tours, hikes, skiing, snowshoeing, canoeing, kayaking, sailing and water sports, and scenic drives are part of everyday activities for guests in this area. The rugged beauty of Georgian Bay is close at hand, and Canadian Shield country lakes and rivers are here to explore. There is Nordic skiing in the winter, and lots of great winter activities. It truly is a place for all seasons!
  • Brenda was an amazing host and was very welcoming. She prepared us dinner when we arrived and breakfast the next morning. The views were absolutely stunning and the cabin was extremely clean and cozy. This was the perfect getaway. We will definitely be returning to the Whispering River Studio. Thank you for everything Brenda!

  • My wife and I decided to spend our short honeymoon at Brenda's studio! We had such a great time, we couldn't have asked for more. Brenda was a delight and she was such a great host! She invite us for breakfast on our second day and try the amazing blue eggs from the farm of Ms. Wilson it was such a great experience, we wouldn't hesitate to come back whenever we have a time off. Thank you for such a great time

  • Brenda was a kind and considerate host. We felt relaxed had full privacy during our stay but Brenda was always a phone call away if we needed a recommendation for food or canoeing. She went above and beyond to make sure we knew what to do as tourists in Parry Sound.

    Kaitlyn2016-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • This house is a amazing house near the beautiful Georgian bay. Lots of things to do but you van also chill if you want to. Brenda is a very lovely lady with lots of tips to do! Mrs. Wilson is a highly recommended! We had a fantastic stay.

  • As last time, we had an amazing and relaxing time at Brenda's studio. Her great hiking tipps, a great breakfast and her overall friendliness and openness made it a perfect stay for us!

  • Brenda's place was very clean and cozy, with close proximity to the main house and garden. The layout of the cottage was unique and the bedroom was very cozy with a walkout to a great deck. The cottage was surrounded by large beautiful trees with an area to bbq along with a nice little fire pit. It also backs out to a great trail by the river! We brought our dog (a big German Shepherd) and Brenda was exceptional with him. Overall, Brenda was an excellent host. We look forward to coming back to enjoy the quiet night sky at Brenda's cottage and we'll be sure to bring a kayak next time!

  • Brenda was a great host! We had a lovely breakfast our first morning where she recommended local activities such as the Island queen cruise, Killbear park and local restaurants. The cabin was very clean and tucked away. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to be back again soon to check out the rest of what Parry Sound has to offer. Highly recommended!

    Kamielle2018-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • What I loved most about staying here was the view. It is such a beautiful drive just outside of Parry Sound. Being by the water, and the peacefulness of the area will definitely has me wanting to return. Brenda was always prompt in her responses and made sure that I was comfortable at all times. The cleanliness was superb and there was also a home made butter tart upon my arrival. Tea and coffee and all the amenities to cook were there as well. The sunrise on the river in the morning was likely my favourite part. I really enjoyed my stay and I know you will too if your looking for a quiet space just a short drive outside of town.

Enjoy your Muskoka River view from your bright and airy one bedroom, one bath cottage or walk down to the dock and watch the sunset from your Muskoka chairs. Dive into the deep water to cool down and have a relaxing swim on a hot sunny day. Take the kayak out for a paddle. Pamper yourself by calling Bellus Mobile Spa and they will come right to the cottage to give you a relaxing message, manicure or pedicure to enhance your vacation. Bring your boat or go for a cruise on the Muskoka Lakes.
This historic building is the last remaining cottage on the old Vue De Lac cottages property which was established in the 1940's. The cottage is the old Muskoka style with open vaulted ceilings and lots of windows. The bedroom contains a double bed, dresser, a closet, clock radio/alarm, a 32" LED Smart flat screen television and an electric baseboard heater. The bathroom includes a pedestal sink, toilet, walk-in rain shower, soap, shampoo, conditioner, hair drier, a double dresser and a portable electric heater. The "L" shaped main area includes the living room, kitchen and dining area overlooking the water. A large ceiling fan keeps the air moving throughout the cottage and a 10,000 BTU air conditioner is available to cool things down when required. The living room has two love seats, chair, 32" LED Smart flat screen television with Bell Expressview satellite programing, a Sony Blu-ray DVD player and an electric baseboard heater . You will also have access to our Netflix account as a Guest user. The well equipped kitchen includes a 17 CU/FT refrigerator, Jenn-Air electric range with full size oven, microwave oven, toaster oven, blender, water dispensing cooler, 10 cup drip coffee maker, Keurig single serve coffee maker ( pods not provided ), crock pot, food processor, dishes, mugs, glasses, tin foil, saran wrap and utensils. You will also find mustard, sweet relish, tomato ketchup, butter, barbeque sauce, extra virgin olive oil, canola oil cooking spray, soy sauce, sugar, salt & pepper, garlic & onion powder, Montreal steak spice, dry ground mustard, celery salt, coriander, ground cloves, Italian and Greek seasoning, cumin, thyme, rosemary leaves, cinnamon sugar, coffee & tea in the fridge and kitchen area. The dining area has a maple table and 4 chairs. We also have a flashlight and bug spray in the cottage for your use. The WI-FI in the cottage comes from a copper based DSL and runs at 10 mbps download and 925 kbps upload speeds. It will probably seem slower than your internet at home. Outside you will find a 6 burner propane barbeque with grilling tools, large picnic table, a portable fire pit, Muskoka chairs and a hammock to relax in. Guests staying at least two weeks will receive fresh bedding, bathroom towels and tea towels weekly.
This is a quiet rural area with a mix of seasonal cottages and permanent homes along the Muskoka River. It is 7 KM to downtown Bracebridge so a vehicle is recommended.
  • Dave and Carol were great hosts. Gave us a good tour of the cottage and area and then let us settle in. They were always available if needed, but we felt like we had our own space. The cottage is exactly as described. You only need your food, and everything else you could imagine was included. Very clean and well maintained. So cute!! The view of the river was amazing, and we had full access to the dock which was amazing to swim, kayak or just sit and watch the sunsets. Very close to Bracebridge for shopping and lots to do in the area. We would absolutely recommend for a couple's getaway!!

    Janet2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! My husband and I spent Thanksgiving weekend at this cottage and it was so much better than expected...and our expectations were already pretty high! Dave and Carol are very friendly and were very helpful and courteous in showing us around. The cottage itself is beautiful and has everything you could need. The fire pit, dock and hammock are all delightful and great additions to the space. Overall a great experience and we would love to come back!

    Larissa2017-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Dave and Carol's cottage was a perfect getaway! They are warm, kind and hospitable people who went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. They even asked if they could pick us anything up from town saving us a trip. The cottage was clean and cozy with a fully stocked kitchen and was charmingly decorated. Dave made sure to have the fire ready each night and was readily available to answer the plethora of questions that we had about the area. We will definitely rent this place again and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing vacation.

  • If you want to go to Muskoka, look no further, you'll have a fantastic experience right here! I couldn't have asked for a better host. Dave and his wife were very inviting, let us use the amenities like they were our own and even got the fire pit ready for us to use every night! The cottage and super cute and clean. My favourite part must have been the ducks that do the rounds along the river for food! What a fantastic way to start the fall

    Ildiko2015-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • What a great little cottage and a prime location right on the Muskoka River. Dave & Carole were great hosts and we would love to come back soon :)

    Gabriel2018-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic spot! If you are looking for a peaceful place for two, surrounded by nature, in a sweet little cottage right out of a magazine, with kind and gracious hosts, look no further. We had a wonderful stay, kayaking, lazying by the river, BBQing every night and truly enjoying the amazing property that this cottage is on. Dave and Carol are superb hosts and have thought of everything! Pack your personal stuff, your drinks and some groceries and you are set. We only wished we could have stayed longer. Next year - guaranteed. Thank you Dave & Carol!

    Simon2018-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • where to start, it was our first trip using AirBnB and had no ida what to except. From the moment we arrived we were welcome with warm smiling faces. The cottage was amazing for myself and my wife. it had everything that you needed and more. They literally supply everything except food, booze and bugspray. The views were breathtaking. We absolutely loved sitting out on the dock every morning with our coffee and watching all the bany ducks swim by. We went kayaking quite a few timespecially and Dave was there to show and tell us everything we needed to know before we went out. When we came back we never ever in 6 days even had to worry about making a fire. Dave and Carol take care of everything for you. And at the same time you definitely get your full privacy. will definitely book with you again. Excellent hosts

  • Ruth and her husband were fantastic and easy going hosts. We arrived later than expected and we were still met when we arrived and shown where we would be staying and everything included. My son and I stayed here so we could get an early start to our Algonquin trip. We both really enjoyed the Cabunky. Thanks again Ruth. We will definitely use you again.

    Eloise2018-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Ruth was very kind and helpful. She did her best to help us with all the information we needed to get around. She is very joyful and interesting to talk to. She also has a very sweet family. It was the first time for me sleeping in a cabin so I had to get used to that but I would definitely recommend Ruth! :)

  • We booked this cabin on Kennisis lake for a two night stay, our main objective was to find an nice place to stay while visiting the Haliburton Forest for a dog sledding excursion. Everything in the cabin is exactly as is advertised and all amenities were as stated. If there was something you needed don't hesitate to ask because these wonderful hosts were willing to go the extra mile to make your stay enjoyable. The property surrounding the cabin was beautiful and we spent some time learning and trying out some new things with the hosts who were enthusiastic about sharing their way of life and hobbies with us. They have a sweet well trained pup named Lucy who in our opinion only made the trip better but should this be a concern you would never know she was there thanks to their excellent training. We would highly recommend these accommodations to anyone looking to spend a little time away from home!

A delightfully warm architect owned and renovated house in the peaceful vacation village of Windermere, Ontario. Across the street from the famous Windermere House, and a five minute walk to a public beach, public golf-course, boat rentals, three restaurants, as well as a pub in the village. Partially air-conditioned, just enough to help cool down on rare hot nights.
The house is comfortable, cozy, with a wonderful screen porch, large dining table. The kitchen is well equipped with a small fridge. It is suited to small families or adults traveling together. We are often booked by people attending weddings in the village or golf tournaments.
The village of Windermere is a unique historic environment, picturesque and wonderfully informal. It is a place to relax and refresh. There is a spa across the street at the hotel where you can book a facial, a massage or other treatments.
  • A lovely cottage that lived up to its description. Situated near to Port Carling and the many wonderful lakes of Muskoka. A great trip.

    Marco2018-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Catherine was a great host and was available when we needed. Our stay was comfortable and enjoyable thanks to this charming cottage. Highly recommended!

    Jason2018-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • The Windermere Cottage was absolutely fantastic! We loved the location--it's right across the street from the Windermere Resort. We spent most of our time lounging in the beautiful sunroom. My only (very minor) complaint is that there is no washer/dryer. It didn't bother us as we only stayed 3 nights but with 2 kids the laundry can pile up quickly. Catherine and her husband were very sweet and right next door. We would definitely stay here again.

  • Linda & Glen's place is one of those gems that you'll still be talking about years down the road! The loft itself is a lovely creative space and the yard is a waterfront paradise. My husband and I relaxed by the lake while our kids jumped off the inflatable trampoline, used the zipline and swam. We kayaked and BBQed in the evening. It couldn't have been more wonderful. We'll definitely be back!

  • What an amazing experience, in every way! The hosts, Linda & Glen, are very warm and welcoming, and are great company. They made sure everything was there to ensure a wonderful stay, and that everything was comfortable and just right, especially for my guest from overseas who was visiting Muskoka for the very first time. It's a perfect combination of cottaging and camping, true Glamping at its best. The outdoor shower was a real treat, and there's a hot tub, too. The property is beautiful, and the space itself is like nothing else I've experienced. It was lovingly built by hand by Linda, who has a gift for bringing together all the right things to create a well-designed, tasteful, unique and comfortable space, right down to the smallest fascinating details. There are personal touches everywhere, such as the former tin roof of the cabin lovingly repurposed into a wall covering beautifully painted by all their grandchildren. Oh, and don't forget to check out the tree house! And then there are thoughtful touches, such as the homemade muffins that Glen makes, and the plate of charcuterie waiting in our fridge at our arrival. It's close to Bracebridge so it's easy to go to the nice restaurants there and to get to other sights. You'll be glad you stayed here!

  • Glen and Linda went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Location, cottage and atmosphere were superb. The hosts gave us our full privacy, and provided us with various amenities; including access to kayaks, fire pit and treehouse. Couldn’t ask for anything more.

  • Linda and Glen provided us a little piece of paradise for our stay. The hot tub, kayaks, and paddle board is a rare amenity that we loved (Other hosts will charge to use these additions)! If you are looking to get away and relax for a few days you should definitely stay with Linda and Glen. You get direct access to the water, a fire pit, and a very relaxing setting. Shops and restaurants are only a 10 mins drive into town with everything you may need. They are fantastic hosts and you will not regret staying here! We hope to return soon.

  • Was a great week-end at Muskoka Lake right on the river. Linda and Glen are marvellous persons.

    Bertrand2018-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Linda and glen for the perfect getaway. Working in a loud stressful hospital and going through some very stressful life problems right now I was really just looking for somewhere to get away that was peaceful. This place literally looks and feels like something dream of on Pinterest. Linda and glen went above and beyond all our expectations. They were so helpful teaching my daughter about nature and were always close by to help but never over stepped any boundaries and gave us lots of privacy. Linda was such a kind soul, I can’t wait to return already. Thank you for a trip we won’t ever forget. We will definitely be recommending you as well and sending our city friends to you! Thank you Linda so much.

Relax in a beautiful natural setting with your own lakeside cottage in Parry Sound Muskoka. Cook in or outdoors with your BBQ or kitchenette including refrigerator, sink, microwave, and hotplate. Enjoy large enclosed porch with incredible views of Mill Lake where you can paddle or swim. Cabin is 5 minutes drive to Parry Sound's main shopping area. Your hillside cabin has stairs, slopes and your hosts next door. Please see photos. No pets is firm. Discounts: weekdays, Spring or Fall, & full-week.
You have your own cabin on the lake in Parry Sound Muskoka. The cabin has a kitchen/living room, a separate bedroom, a 3-piece bathroom with a shower, and the screened-in porch. We are on a well with the water system having a triple filter including UV light so it is safe to drink. The lake is right below your cabin and ideal for swimming from mid-June to mid-September. You are also welcome to paddle our canoe or stand-up paddle boards. Please help us keep the area clean so that we don't have unwanted interactions with bears and other animals. We have had many types of four-legged and winged visitors including: bear, coyote, crane, deer, duck, eagle, fox, frog, goose, hummingbird, loon, moose, otter, racoon, turtle, weasel and woodpecker. There are also mosquitos and flies so we recommend you bring some insect repellent for when you are outdoors depending on the time of year. Your cabin also has a large screened-in porch so you can still enjoy the lake if the insects are bugging you!
You are right on the lake. You can walk down to the dock anytime of day. You are close to town if you need supplies. The canoe, stand-up paddle boards, and other equipment at the water are there for your use. Please feel free to try them out - just please make sure to wear a PFD for your safety.
  • This cabin has a stunning view and had a perfect screened in porch for enjoying coffee in the morning. This quiet retreat on a beautiful lake with wonderful swimming off the dock or beach was everything we were looking for in our summer vacation!

  • My girlfriend and I wanted a nice cabin by the water for reasonable price. We found jus that! This location has beautiful scenery and the cabin has a nice cozy feel. You're surrounded by forest and the lake, it's very peaceful. The hosts Brock an Johnna were very friendly and made us feel right at home. I ended up proposing to my girlfriend during our stay so this cabin will always remain in our memories! The water is literally 30 sec walk down and you can jump off the dock and swim. No need to bring your own dishes cleaning supplies, everything was already provided. Towel too! Just bring your food and toiletries and your good to go! There is an A/C unit too. Great for a couple who wants to get out in nature and be close to a town. To get to town is about 5 min drive! With a Walmart, Canadian Tire, and other major stores near by. If you want to eat out there are food places too. Access to the highway is even closer. Overall great location for a great price. I'll be coming back for a stay. We had a great time.

    Neil2016-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great time! Lake and private dock seconds from the cabin. Brock and Johna were very respectful of our privacy. Cabin was well stocked with supplies. Other than the weather (it rained most of the time that we were there) it was great! Bonfire was readily available to use whenever. Enjoyed our stay!

    Stephanie2016-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Brock & Johna's place was just as expected - quiet, close to the water and a true cottage experience. The lake is beautiful - very quiet and serene. The little touches (organic local jam and a ready-to-light bonfire) were unexpected and very thoughtful. Although the cottage is close to the Brock & Johna's place, it still felt private and secluded. Thank you!

I have been an avid boater for years and Kahshe Lake is certainly one of the most beautiful I have ever experienced !!
  • I travelled with two teenagers to Muskoka country where I had never been. Kimberly could not have been a better host. She was extremely accommodating and made us all feel good about our experience and choice to stay at her cottage. She provided nice extra touches, like bikes for the girls as well as floaties for the lake. There were also thoughtful treats in the cabin. She was easy to get in touch with and always responded quickly if I had any questions. Her place was cute and clean just as the pictures show. The location made for easy access to the highway to get to Gravenhurst and Bracebridge where we travelled to throughout the week. Thank you so much Kimberly!

    Erin2018-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Kimberly is a fantastic host that goes above and beyond. If there was an option to give her more than a five star review, she would definitely get it. Very accommodating and extremely quick to reply to any questions we may have had. What a great all around experience. Thank You!!

    Robert2018-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our get away in cottage country tremendously and this was the perfect the place to rest and relax. Kimberly's many special touches to added to our comfort. Simple thoughtful gestures such as providing salt and pepper, napkins, bug spray and a canoeing experience were very welcome. We felt comfortable and had a great time. A bonus was easy bird watching from the tree top balcony. Thank you for a lovely vacation.

  • My boyfriend and I visited for 4 days over a long weekend, and it was absolutely perfect. The cabin is clean, bright, and beautiful. We had a great view of the lake from the big glass doors in the cabin, and an even better view from the porch. The lake itself is nice and deep (no weeds!), and located just across the road. For those looking to get some work done during their stay, the WiFi connection was excellent. We never once had a problem connecting or sending emails, even from the porch. Dan was a great host, and made the experience even better. He was responsive to messages even before we arrived, answered all our questions, and kindly set up the fire pit and fireplace for us on our first day. Would definitely recommend this place, and will definitely be coming back! Thank you so much for an amazing experience.

  • My boyfriend and I went here for a getaway from the city for the long weekend and it was amazing!! Great host, amazing property and we got great use of the dock. Solid 10 out of 10!

  • Had a great time staying at Daniel's place. Very nice, quiet cabin, on a great lake in Haliburton - also, it is a short drive from the village of Haliburton which is nice. Daniel's dock on the lake is very nice. Daniel was very helpful - we missed the closing of the local liquor store and Daniel helped us with directions to another location that had later hours.

  • Awesome weekend. Thanks.

  • The two of us and our dogs had a fabulous and cosy stay here! The view from the dock wad fabulous and the location is close to Haliburton with hiking trails nearby as well. The kitchen is a bit on the small side but we had no issues with making meals between the BBQ and the burner. Certainly a great spot especially for a couple. The hosts were fantastic with communication and answering any questions we had.

    Sophie2017-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first booking with air bnb and we couldn't have been happier! This place is gorgeous! Great view, great hosts and beautiful area. Even though you are directly in front of the hosts home, the cottage feels private with a deck facing the water. The hosts were attentive to our needs and always just a text away. We brought an electric 2 burner stove and it worked perfectly for cooking. The fireplace has an endless supply of wood and it was a perfect romantic getaway for my boyfriend and I. Thanks Daniel and Collin for giving me such wonderful memories of my 40th birthday!! We will be back!

  • We had a great stay at Daniel's cabin! He was very accommodating, easy to talk to, quick to respond, and made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay perfect :) The cabin itself is clean and cozy and is the perfect size for two and your pets. Definitely a place I'd recommend staying!

  • We stayed at Cathy and Mark's spot for three nights and loved it! The location is fantastic, on a beautiful, peaceful lake in the heart of beautiful scenery. The accommodation is exactly as it appears in the photos, small but very comfy and has everything you'd need. We loved the outdoor area, BBQ, firepit, hammock, the lake on your doorstep. We had a great time! Cathy and Mark have their own private cottage next door so if you want to be 100% alone, this might not be the spot for you, but they were very respectful of our privacy. I would def recommend this place! Cathy and Mark were great hosts - thoughtful, responsive etc. Plus their two adorable dogs came to hang out with us and they would melt your heart!

  • We had a great time staying in this sweet little cottage. It was a perfect 3 days immersed in nature, relaxing by the lake. Cathy is a great host.

    Lesya2018-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful stay at Cathy’s cottage. It is beyond beautiful, right on the lake - with a choice of deck chairs, regular seats or a hammock to enjoy the view from. The lake is perfect for swimming, or kayaking - which they have available for you to use. Firepit & bbq also were great. The cottage itself is cosy and all you need, with puzzles & reading material available + a TV. Cathy & her husband were extremely accommodating, helpful & kind - plus their 2 dogs (hypoallergenic) were a delight. This is a perfect getaway for a couple & only 2.5 hours from Toronto. We hope to return soon!! Thank you! Tip: Definitely bring some good quality bug spray for nighttime as there are lots of mosquitos!

    Iain2018-06-09T00:00:00Z

  • My wife and I stayed at the cozy bunkie that Cathy and her husband renovated. True paradise, amazing access to water, breathtaking sunrises and well decorated interior. We bbq’d several meals, enjoyed the firepit and overall had a relaxing time. Will definitely be back again. Note to guests, make sure to follow Cathy’s written instruction to get there. Come and enjoy our back-to-nature cabin on the majestic Magnetawan river! The Algonquin Cabin is for those looking for something different. Without hydro and running water in the cabin, the rental is perfect for a back- to-nature experience. Prepare to live like a pioneer! Please make sure you see the section 'Other things to note' prior to booking the rental.
The cabin is completely detached from the main house close by. It is a 700 sq ft waterfront cabin situated on the Magnetawan river. There are 3 nice bedroom suitable for 4 people. This is a nice environment in an ‘Algonquinesque’ setting on a 10 acre lot (+70 acres on the other side of the river). The cabin is located at 20 minutes North from the historical town of Huntsville and 45 minutes West from the gateway of world renown Algonquin Park (Rain lake access). The rental has its own driveway with a delightful walk through the trees!
The cabin is located in Emsdale, Ontario, Canada on a 80 acre property. The owner lives in the house beside the cabin and gives plenty of space to the guests. The property is very quiet and the sound of the river makes the place very unique! The Magnetawan river runs on the property.
  • Absolutely great experience! If you like to experience nature life during your trip, this is a great place to stay. Carine is very thoughtful and enthusiastic, she helped us a lot for tips prior to our stay. I would love to stay again!

    Priscilla2018-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful little cabin in the woods for a truly rustic northern-Ontario experience. Cleanly and spacious on a beautiful river-side property with a nearby waterfall. As long as you read the description carefully and come prepared (which we did!) you will not be disappointed! I would not recommend going in the coldest part of winter as the cabin is not insulated, but we spent a very pleasant weekend in early March with snow and -5 degree weather--you just have to keep the wood stove going! Carine was a lovely and informative host and we had a wonderful, quiet weekend away from the world. We'd love to come again!

    Adela2018-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place for Algonquin Park trip. Quite neighborhood and Carine was being super patient with us Every question was responded super quick. Really good and cozy staying experience.

    Yupu2018-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to visit. The host Carin is extremely nice. She briefed us about the place and showed the cabin around when we checked in. She also provided full supply of wood for a minimal charge per day which was very kind of her. She patiently answered all our questions and suggested the places to visit. We thank her for that. There is a river at the back which makes this cabin one special place to spend the day in peace. The nature and the trees around makes this place look like heaven all day long. Two things which the visitors can take to consideration are: 1. This cabin is away from the city so there is very limited cell connectivity. The onsite wifi connectivity is not very great so be prepared to enjoy the nature to its full with having limited contact to the outside world. We really liked the idea of having low light in the cabin which makes you feel like the old days in the woods. 2. Washroom, shower and water supply is a big challenge where you will need to deal with nature directly ( survivor skills ). We took it as a challenge and spent 3 days with fun. If you are a nature lover and want to try something out of your comfort zone, this is the place you can give a shot to.

    Mani2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was located by such a beautiful waterfall with a nice short walking trail. It was a nice place to get away from the city and unplug

    Tanya2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Carine's cabin is right next to a beautiful river that can be heard all day and fallen asleep to at night. We were hoping to camp, but all the campgrounds in the area had just closed so we found this property and it was the perfect substitute. It was as described and we enjoyed making the space our own for the night. Carine made sure to come see us after check-in to show us around and communication before/after was very prompt.

    Lee2018-10-20T00:00:00Z

  • Lee’s an amazing host! Nothing but laughter in our cozy yet pretty advanced cabin in the woods!! Definitely going back for another weekend away without all the hassle of camping!

    Megan2018-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lee is great host. Everything was as expected. A quiet and rustic getaway.

    Jim2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Lee you were a great host. You provided a welcoming sanctuary to us and we enjoyed every part of it. You came around enough to let us know you were there if we needed anything and, we're so quick with things we needed like fixing our lantern and ensuring our fires were always still going were great touches! Your cabin is cozy, comfy, and so amazing with all your personal touches. Your thoughtfulness and allowing us to access your kayaks was awesome. You were efficient when dropping us off with the kayaks and then picking up the kayaks when we called you, amazing service!! Thank you for being so accommodating and being informative with the fishing spots too! Your wife Katie was a pleasure meeting as well, she was lovely. Our dogs had a blast and we honestly had such a great time, made amazing memories and, laughed so hard our guts ached. Thank you for everything really, it was so fun and we cannot wait to come back!!! Your cabins rock!!

    Wajma2018-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Essentially exactly like the pictures! Super rustic dope home! My boyfriend and I had quite the time there! Lee and his wife are so hospitable and friendly!! They were fairly informative and chill people! One thing that we weren’t aware of when we arrived was that there was another cabin in the same area, so expect neighbours. Otherwise a lovely time to be in nature

  • Where do I start. By the good I guess. The location is really nice. It is located on a quiet street, at 5 minutes walk from the beach, with beach shops and restaurants. It is easy to find and there is parking. The cottage is small but perfect for 2 persons and a dog. It is also probably fine if you are 4 but do not spend time indoor (very small kitchen). The place is old but kind of charming. We went mid-September on a warm weekend and there was only another cottage rented. It was quiet. Now, the bad. We got there at 8:30 pm and there was no one, even if it is a commercial place and closes usually at 9 pm. We called the owner and he provided a code to open a key box after some verification. The cottage was so dirty disgusting that I had to remove spider web everywhere (lamps, curtains, chairs). There was a lot of dust and rocks on the floor, pieces of tissue on the floor of the living room, stain and chips of foods in the kitchen, garbage on the floor (eg. bottle lid), yellow dired crust on the bed blancket, etc. The place is not loved or taken care of. We had to text the guy to get towels. We got 2 old towels, no hand towel, no face towel. The beds are awful. The double is a 3/5 and the queen size is a 1/5. There is a think plastic on the mat which makes crazy sound when you move. It is not comfortable as humidity get between the plastic and you, and you feel the rigidity of it. The mattresses are very old. The queen size is a springs type, with no cover. You feel each of the springs. And if you move your finger you jump during 10 minutes. I am use to travel with Airbnb. My experiences up to now were satisfying. I was expecting a decent place. It is a commercial establishement so I though I would get a better deal at this time of the year. But at 194$/night CAD, it was not a good value. The only reason why I would recommend this place is if you are 4 young persons on a low budget who go to Wasaga to go out and not spend time indoor, and that other cheap places are already sold out.

A cozy, all-season guesthouse nestled on the southern boundaries of Muskoka. The backyard slopes down to the beautiful, clean Green River and has multiple boats (canoes, kayak and paddle boat) that can be used to enjoy the serene waterway. The guesthouse is fully self-sufficient, with ample free parking. We're just 15 minutes from Casino Rama. Good for couples, friends, solo adventurers, and families with kids.
Our guest house is a private, separate building, on the second floor, approximately 25 metres away from the main building. Underneath the living quarters is a storage area. We don't enter the guest house, including its storage area, when it is rented out. It has heating in the winter and an air conditioner for use in the summer. There's running hot water all year round. A new luxury queen size bed (2017) was just installed in the bedroom and there are two futons on either side of the living room. The kitchen includes basic dinnerware, small appliances, cutlery, pots and pans, etc. For health and safety reasons, we do not provide any food, including cooking oil (please bring your own). The building shown in photos on our listing is the guest house.
Nearby amenities include the following: cafe, grocery store, restaurants, Washago Centennial Park with free boat launch for Lake Couchiching, Cooper's Falls hiking trail, Casino Rama, and golf courses.
  • AMAZING! The view while canoeing is amazing and everybody is so kind and friendly. Loved it

  • Kent was very responsive to any questions or messages we sent.

    Judith2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Kent was super easy to get a hold of! This was exactly what we were looking for for our little getaway. Only 5min from a small town., but located on the end of a private road!

    Ashleigh2016-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time during our getaway and Kent's guesthouse was as lovely as described. Highly recommend to anybody looking for a cozy place to stay in Washago. The house was very clean and well maintained and provides the privacy you need.

    Ellie2017-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • There was a last minute change so we ended up staying in the big house rather than the guest house. It was nice because it’s even bigger than the original for the same price and closer to the water, but the change was very last minute in spite of us booking the place three months prior. Although the kitchen needed to be cleaned before being used, the house was clean for the most part. The wifi reached the dock so we could listen to music and the canoes were great.

    Biljana2018-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is cozy and warm. And there's a river passing by backyard with clean water. Just for travelers' information, there is only one bedroom with a Queen size bed. If u have more than two people, u should use the two sofa beds in living room. Thankful to the landlord for borrowing slippers to us. We left fresh brown rice in the kitchen.@-@

    Jenny2016-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Kent's guesthouse, which came equipped with all the essentials (pots, pans, towels, etc.). The lake was just right behind their main house which we had full access to, as well as to their dock, canoes and paddle boat. Kent was an organized host and made sure we had all the details for our check in.

    Josh2017-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Kent's place was great and cosy. Close to nearby attractions - we stopped by Horseshoe Resort which is about 30 mins away for Winter fun and everything was convenient to do/pick up. Would recommend.

The boathouse will spoil you with two bedrooms, one bathroom, kitchenette and living room. You will be able to sip your wine at the end of the day on the lakeside balcony over looking the incredible view of Sunset Bay. There will be a BBQ available for you to use. For your convenience we will provide you with information for water toy rentals. Docking is available. No parties or events are permitted on the premises during your stay.
My home is minutes away from Bala and Port Carling. We have many tourists attractions occurring during the summer months. The Johnston's Cranberry Marsh and Muskoka Winery is minutes away from our Airbnb. There are Farmers Markets occurring weekly, Art shows, hiking and weekly Ski Shows. This is just a few exciting events that you can enjoy while staying in Muskoka.
  • Lyn and Peter were incredible hosts. Their property is immaculate and shows the years of hard work they have put in as a family! The attention to detail and décor of the boat house was remarkable, and we look forward to returning in the near future. A+++ Highly recommended!!

    Luke2018-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Get ready for a memorable time in Lyn and Peter’s boathouse. Renovation just completed, we were their 2nd guests July 2018. Beautifully decorated. Fun, sunny, private, well appointed space in beautiful Muskoka. Wish I were still there.

    Margie2018-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • This Airbnb exceeds expectations and is in a great located if you like being on the water, close to the Town of Bala. The Boat house itself is very well designed inside and out. The indoors are very modern and well decorated. The outdoor area provides a beautifully landscaped setting along with a comfortable layout if relaxing and leisure is your thing. It allows for a dive off the dock for a great morning or evening swim or a large deck so one can bask in the days sun. The residence itself is well appointed with all the amenities that are prefered in a home. This Boathouse is a 2 bedroom Gem with it's own private balcony over the water. The indoor sitting area is much larger than it appears in the pictures that are provided. The eat in Kitchen handled all 5 of us with plenty of room. The deck is very large and has plenty of Muskoka chairs and a few lounge chairs to provide a much comfortable location to relax. The Hosts Lyn and Peter along with other family members we had the pleasure of meeting were very kind hosts. They offered to make us a bonfire every night however our plans had us visiting other locations. Any inquiries we had about our stay or the day trips we had planned were answered immediately and precisely. This really was a great experience. We were very happy with our hosts and this location.

  • Barbara's property is absolutely amazing ! You get such a beautiful view being right on the water. Barbara was an amazing host and made sure we had everything we needed ! She showed us around the property and even offered to let us use her paddle boat and boards ! Her boathouse is perfect for a relaxing and private vacation/weekend away and we would recommend it to everyone !

    Nicole2018-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Barbara’s place was one of our most enjoyable vacations. The place is clean and spacious. The bathroom is modern. The view is second to none. We swam in the lake a couple of times each day. Lake Simcoe tends to be warmer than other large lakes so it was really pleasant to swim in it. Being less than 1.5 hours from Toronto makes it the ideal location for a get away. Barbara gave us the highest level of privacy yet she was always available whenever we needed her. It really felt as if we had the entire lake all to ourselves. We never saw anyone in the area during our four day stay there. Barbara provided us with complimentary wood logs for bonfires in the lovely garden by the lake. Fresh towels Incase we needed them. She also let us use her paddle boards. At night you won’t hear traffic noise at all, nothing except the crushing waves. We are just so glad we found this place.

    Klemens2018-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very pleasant time at Barbara’s boat house. Very relaxing stay with a beautiful view of the lake. Perfect for a couples getaway if you want to relax, and enjoy outdoor activities like paddle boating, fishing and swimming. Would recommend her space!

    Scott2018-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Barbara’s place was outstanding! The place is right on the water, so you heard the relaxing lapping water as you slept. It offered an amazing view as well. I really liked having the bbq right outside on the balcony. The space gives you the privacy you may want and you have use of the beautiful fire pit on the property. Barbara let us use her paddle boards which we really enjoyed! She was always available if we needed something. There is a paddle boat and floating island blow up you can use as well. A great find! We hope we are able to stay here again in the future! Thanks Barbara!

    Kyle2018-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Barbara's place is beautiful - the location is absolutely stunning. The water is pristine and she gave us use of her dock, floaties, and paddleboards. Daily swims in the lake were one of my favourite parts of the whole weekend! The boathouse itself is tastefully decorated and very comfortable! Barbara was very responsive and available to help with any issues we had.

  • This little weekend at Billy & Donna's place was really great ! Our group of 6 friends made the most of it: a little campfire, a walk around the lake, BBQ for dinner and of course the proximity with Algonquin park was great. The cabin was really clean and we had a good time here. Billy was also a great host giving us tips of what to do around. We will surely have a great memory from that weekend !

  • Our stay at Do Drop Inn was better than we ever imagined. My husband and I brought our grandchildren, ages 6 and 2 1/2. The weather was nice and warm so most of our time was spent at the beach, which was sandy, warm and shallow. The big yard also was also great for playing with the children. The kitchen was nice and big and had all the cooking essentials we needed to cook our meals. The cottage was clean and all the bed were comfortable. Christine was very kind and was always very quick to reply to my emails. We would definitely stay again. Truly such a good vacation for us.

    Carmen2018-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I had such an amazing time here. When you walk in it feels so welcoming. It feels like a home, rather than a rental. The lake is shallow off the dock, so you can wade out and float (the water was warm!). According to my husband there was very good fishing. The area around the dock is soft and sandy. The beds are comfy and the kitchen is stocked with any dishes/cookware you may need. I like the fact that the bunkie provides additional space. It has a bathroom as well as little sitting room on the main floor. Christine was very responsive and quick to answer any questions I had. I would hugely recommend the Do Drop Inn.

  • Excellent, wonderful place for a family vacation. We vacationed with two toddlers and were delighted with the place and the accommodations that Christine and Kevin provided. We found the well maintained and excellently manicured. The cottage was well stocked with necessities and we enjoyed relaxing in the comfy furniture. The lakefront is very nice. Our toddlers enjoyed the sandy beach. During our stay we had an issue with a broken screen door. Throughout the resolution of the issue the host was collaborative, helpful and clear about the issue. I was completely grateful for the promptness of her replies and the tone of her communication. We'd highly recommend both this cottage and the host.

These natural features all come together to make it a truly unique place, located in the southern tip of the incredible transition area known as “The Land Between”. “The Land Between is what ecologists call an ecotone, a large transition zone which lies at the intersection of the Canadian Shield and the St. Lawrence lowlands stretching 240 km across South Central Ontario from Georgian Bay to Kingston and until recently it has been entirely over looked. However, if you’ve lived in this area, you’ve always known that there is something special about this place; where in undulating landscape of rocky barrens, majestic forests and pavement-like alvars converge. The land between is a place of natural splendor and rich cultural heritage… The Trent Severn Waterway dances along the southern edge of the land between; and it’s no wonder - the region has a higher percentage of shoreline to area than anywhere else in Ontario. This saturated geography allowed the people to use the area as a key East-West corridor for thousands of years cutting trails overland and plying the waters by canoe. Many of these same rivers and channels now form the Trent Severn Waterway… Historically, First Nations peoples appreciated the area for its biodiversity; a thriving fishing economy was born of The Land Between’s plentiful waters… the land between is the only place were species from the North (the wolf the raven in the river otter) would ever meet with species from (the South the crow the skunk in the woodchuck)... The land between remains almost entirely in tact today with over 90% natural cover. This is a fragile and threatened environment. The Land Between‘s water resources overlay barrens and areas with shallow soils, making them susceptible to contamination and aggregate extraction. The Land Between is an economic and cultural asset for residents in local and nearby towns and for seasonal residents and visitors form cities 1.5 to 2 hours drive away – the GTA, Barrie and Kingston. Few metropolitan areas in the world have such large and natural wonders so close by…” Sources: www.visualheriatge.ca; www.thelandbetween.ca This unique building provides a truly inspiring space that works with the incredible piece of land that is Rancho Relaxo with its granite rocks, miles of trails, bridges, creek and waterfall. We look forward to sharing this space with like-minded individuals looking for the Rancho Relaxo experience.
  • Leanne is a wonderful host, making sure we had everything we needed. The cabin is cozy and lived in, and was a perfect place to nest during a rainy fall weekend. The area around the cabin is very secluded, with lovely trails to walk. While noted in the review, I emphasize there is no running water, and only a portable toilet inside the cabin and a port-a-potty outside the cabin. These elements were fine for us, but they might not be for everyone. We particularly enjoyed relaxing in front of the wood burning stove. Thanks for a wonderful weekend!

  • We went to this beautiful cabin to spend the New Year's Eve and it was absolutely fantastic! The place is really well equipped, cozy, we felt at home right away! The surrounding is just gorgeous as well! And the hosts - who are usually there to receive the guests but were away at the time - were very caring, checked in on us and made sure we were ok. I would go back without hesitation! Absolutely loved it!

    Noelia y Gabriela2015-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Leanne's Rancho Relaxo sits on a beautiful secluded property complete with a small waterfall, creek, bridge and trails. The outdoor fireplace was great and served as our kitchen and entertainment centre. Although the two bedroom cabin was small, using the living room couch as a third bedroom, it was able to accommodate our party of three couples. However, we were asked to bring our own pillows and sleeping bags. On the downside, the cabin's lack of running tap water was a drag. Trying to pour water from a large container was inconvenient, as was emptying the excess water buckets kept under the sink. The small indoor porta potty (to use only at night) was unusable without carrying it out and emptying it. We all preferred the outdoor porta potty despite the short walk. The cabin was also in need of a healthy deep cleaning, as there was some moldy food in the fridge and cupboards. Lastly, the cabin offered absolutely no respite from the mosquitoes (there was lots) despite keeping the windows and doors closed at all times. To sum up if you want a rustic, outdoor experience, Rancho Relaxo is the place to go. If however you enjoy some modern conveniences like running tap water, a working washroom, clean indoor space and an escape from mosquitoes, then I would look elsewhere.

The property is phenomenal and has everything that you could possibly need or want for a peaceful, relaxing & much enjoyable stay. From the bunker, to the cabin and the main house, on top of the beautiful landscapes, you can't ask for anything more! This place is outstanding and I will definitely be returning! I've already raved about it to my family & friends, and I'm highly recommending that everyone takes the opportunity to experience this magical place! You will not be disappointed at all. And Leanne & Mark are incredible folks.....super kind-hearted, friendly and so easy to reach & communicate with. • This cottage is located in an excellent area. We loved having such close access to a great beach. The kids (11 yrs old) could head to the water on their own. We felt safe and comfortable. More outdoor seating would have been good and having a freezer, particularly with the hot weather, was really needed.

    Michelle2016-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Vess was great at communicating, the check-in was really smooth and days leading up to it. He provided all the information we needed which was very helpful. The cottage is located is such an amazing location, very close to the beach and parks. For day trips we took to surrounding areas, e.g. Midland, Collingwood, Wasaga Beach, the location couldn't have been more perfect as it was easy drives along beautiful country roads. Loved BBQ on the patio at night!

    Christine2016-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was exactly what we were looking for. It was cozy, very clean and a perfect place to go with a toddler. There were many sandy beaches steps away, a park around the corner and hiking trails nearby. It is also a short drive away from the grocery store and fun activities like mini putting, a kids castle and indoor play area for rainy days. Vess was very helpful and accommodating. Whenever something came up or we had questions he was over within minutes. We'd definitely visit again!

    Kirsten2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great little cottage, two minute walk to the beach. Lots of amenities 10-15 min drive. Vess was very informative, helpful and great communicator. Great place for two kids with a nice park nearby. Never ran out of things to do if you needed a little action from the quite beach. Sunsets are a must see.

    Gerald2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • This area of Georgian Bay is beautiful. The beaches are stellar and we loved the proximity of Vess's cottage to the Balm Beach area with restaurants, arcade, ice cream, etc. The cottage is small and offers the efficiencies needed. The beach was easy walking distance for walks and swimming, and we enjoyed the fire pit every night!

    Christine2016-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Super cute cottage! Neat and clean. So close to the beach. Check in and out was easy, and Vess was wonderful.

    Anita2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Vess was great at communicating to make sure we were prepared for our stay and really took that extra step to also make sure we knew where everything was in town. The Cottage was simple as advertised and the location was within walking distance to the beach which was very key.

    Michael2015-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Vess was amazing. The place was good. The neighbourhood felt safe and the location was right across the street from the beach and was really quiet! Quite a nice stay!

  • Wonderful place and host. Exceeded expectations.

    David2016-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in Kate's guest house certainly surpassed our expectations. Prior to our arrival, Kate was thorough in answering all questions and meeting our special request of a late arrival. Upon arrival, Kate was there to greet us and immediately coordinate transportation to and from our destination (after giving us a tour of our lovely accommodations!). Our room was clean and tidy with a convenient ensuite attached that worked out just perfectly for two guests. Although we were only visiting for a short period of time, Kate truly made the experience a memorable one! *NOTE* For those traveling to/from Burl's Creek for a special event, I would highly suggest coordinating transportation - beforehand - to avoid nasty surcharges as we did.

    Mary2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • The stay was absolutely perfect, Kate was an amazing host and I would recommend this place to everyone. The location is really nice as well, the room was great. The breakfast was awesome with a lot of variety. Kate went went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable and satisfying. Would definitely comeback again.

Short drive to various family oriented activities (go karts, batting cages, Elmvale Zoo, farm with petting zoo, and much more)
Woodland Beach "The Family Beach" is a small, quiet beach community beside a beautiful clear lake with generally very calm water that's perfect for kids. Some areas are rocky, but there are several sandy beaches within a 10 minute drive if that's your preference.

  • Perfect location for a business trip. This place was just what any working individual would need to ensure that all the bases of both business and leisure are covered. Location was great, space was clean and functional and communication with owners was simple and quick. Honestly, I don't want to say too many good things about this place cause I want to make sure it's available every time I'm in the area lol. Highly recommend.

    Silversmith2018-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Cute little cottage with everything you need for a few days away. Netflix...super helpful if you've got little ones and a rainy or cooler day. Celeste was wonderful! Quick to respond and very friendly.

Charming rustic 4 season cottage on a quiet lake minutes north of Huntsville. Summer is here and the days are blue and bright. Loads to do or soak up some sunshine and breath the fresh air. Separate bunkie away from the main cabin is where you can put up your feet and call home. Perfectly quiet with a delightful deck allowing guests to enjoy total privacy. 20 x 20 dock floats close to the water and is safe to dive from. Don’t forget to bring your sunscreen and a couple of towels.
Private cabin elevated away from the main house and located just meters from the lake. The cabin is spacious and a great place to relax and reflect. We also have a yoga platform for those who love to stretch it all out. Walk along the peaceful cottage tracks and breath the freshest of fresh air. You'll wished you'd stayed longer.
Typical canadian cottage on a quiet lake; seasonal residents and a few year-round cottager's.
  • Matt is the best host you can possibly imaging. He is very kind, friendly and also generous. I could truly make myself at home at his place. We had (wheelie-good-)coffee together every morning, shared one or two dinner and had a couple of beer with some good laugh. His house at the lake is just beautiful in a peaceful and quite environment. Highly recommendable!!!!!

  • Me and my husband found exactly what we needed at this cozy, secluded, rustic retreat surrounded by forest, lakes and steps away from Algonquin park. Matthew is a caring and entertaining host, who made sure we were both well looked after. Thank you Mat, we’ll definitely come back to this little gem.

    Lineke2018-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Matthew's place was absolutely fabulous! An unpretentious and beautiful cottage right at the water's edge. A real gem. When I arrived, Matthew actually gave me the choice to stay in the spare bedroom of the main cottage, or the more rustic (but oh-so-charming!) bunkie, which offered more privacy and serenity and was the perfect retreat that I was craving. The weather was perfect, so I chose the bunkie; I just loved sitting on the porch, reading my book, watching the water and listening to the nature sounds around me. Matthew was a fabulous host: attentive and considerate, and a great conversationalist. We had some good laughs together, and I had lots of time to myself too. Highly recommended - I can't wait to go back!

    Johanna2017-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Matthew’s cabin by the water is incredible. I was looking for a quiet place to rest and recharge, and this place was perfect. Matt was a great host - we shared some stories and enjoyed a few beers on the beautiful dock. I highly recommend this as a place to stay. I will definitely be back.
