Playa privada abajo.
  • It's a gorgeous location and Cynthia is an excellent host. A great way to disconnect from the world and reconnect with your family face-to-face. Cynthia even gave us fresh eggs from her chickens that we cooked in the treehouse and the results were beyond words. Don't be intimidated by the outdoor shower/toilet as it's barely something you even think about once you try it.

  • The tree house offered stunning views! Loved the donkeys and the beautiful property! Cynthia was an excellent hostess!

  • it was simply terrific! we enjoyed the animals, the view was spectacular! very cosy, wonderful feeling to the treehouse & surroundings! cynthia was a truly sweet host - she shared with us some freshly laid eggs! delicious! very relaxing setting - would definitely stay here again! thanks for the unforgettable experience cynthia!

  • Cynthia’s treehouse is a rare gem. Extraordinary view, snugly nestled in the trees. Your nearest neighbors are wildly cute miniature donkeys. Very well appointed mini treehouse kitchen, with actual good knives. What vacation rental ever has good knives?! This one. We loved: the hike down the forest service roads to the beach, excellent breakfast and dinner recs in the treehouse guide, wonderful hot showers in the full bath with views, squirrel duvet covers, a site-specific treehouse library, handmade blueberry liqueur, and the abiding calm and snugness built by Cynthia. We’re huge fans now! Thank you for a true refuge. <3

  • Our stay was excellent! This is our first time to the Pacific Northwest, and the TreeHouse gave us everything we were looking for - seclusion, relaxation, and very intimate with nature and close to surrounding trails.

  • What a wonderful getaway! This will be a repeat for our family for sure! The property is a great place for kids to explore and get a little taste of farm life/rural living. Cynthia was so kind and genuine in her interactions with us all. Such a giving host who genuinely enjoys having people partake in her little slice of heaven!

  • We travelled more than a thousand miles just to find a place our hearts called home again! Oh what an amazing place the Bluebird House is! How much would we have loved to stay longer! Thanks to Cynthia's warm and cheerful welcoming we immediately fell in love with the entire place. Meet the donkeys, watch whales from your own terrace, watch the beautiful bluebirds fly, go hiking in one of the countless State Parks and wake up to the sound of the waves every morning. Thanks so much for letting us be part of this Cynthia! If we're ever in this part of the earth again, we'll definately come back!

  • BlueBird house was amazing. I came with my parents and my wife and we all had an amazing time. Cynthia was a great host and we will definitely be returning again next year.

  • This property is absolutely beautiful. Hollis and Dave were the perfect hosts. There were so many activities available on the property you never need to leave. The dogs were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. We had a fabulous relaxing vacation.

  • If you would like to have a unique experience with AirBnb, I highly recommend the treehouse of Hollis and Dave. Very cozy, adventurous, and they made it all by themselves!

  • Our experience on Hollis and Dave's property was even better than we expected! They've built a beautiful tree house on their property, with plenty of privacy, and a beautiful piece of land to explore and enjoy. Hollis was an exceptional host and made sure that our needs were taken care of. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick getaway!

  • We had an AMAZING stay! Truly exciting to see how the hard work on the treehouse and other cabins made them so warm and cozy. Very flexible with check-in and good food and beer just a ten minute drive into town. LOVE the family friendly property. This was an anniversary trip but we couldn't stop thinking about how much our little ones would have loved the place.

  • This was my first Air B&B experience. It was better than I could have imagined. An unexpected bonus of a brand new "spa like" hot outdoor shower was the best!!! We over packed. They had coffee mugs and a wine opener. Could not have asked for anything more. Loved it and will go back.

  • The property is so peaceful and beautiful! The hosts were very nice and helpful but we felt like we had all the privacy we wanted. The tree house was so much more fun and relaxing than we could have imagined. Our son already misses Henry, Oliver and Breya--their friendly dogs. My son zip lined into the evening one night and had a blast. So much to do and so relaxing. We would love to stay again in the future.

  • Loved the treehouse! Wonderful, welcoming, warm, and unique:) Hollis was an excellent host - attentive to details and quick to respond if we needed anything- would highly reccomend staying here, very peaceful and magical. We got to explore the gorge during the day and grill at night! Thanks for everything

  • Wow! This place is amazing! We had the pleasure of staying in the treehouse for 2 nights. I wish we could have stayed longer. We had our 5-year-old and 3-year-old boys with us. Hollis gave us warning ahead of time that they would need extra supervision during our stay, especially with the stairs up to the treehouse and the loft. We loved having their dogs as company. They were great with our boys. They followed us around on the trails through the property and my boys loved giving them the dog treats Hollis gave us. Hollis and Dave were fantastics hosts. They have put so much thought and care in making sure you have a wonderful experience. We can't wait to go back!

  • What an amazing place! A great spot for anyone visiting Portland or any of the surrounding areas. Upon arrival April was there to greet us with a warm & welcoming smile. She showed us all of the property that would be of use to us, was very thorough and accommodating. There's a fun chalk board by the bathroom for all of you crafty crafters out there! The description was perfect but being there is on a whole other level. Branched off of a deck and far enough away, tucked behind low branches feels like you're in a little fairy tale. It offers the best amount of privacy. Great neighborhood. Everything you need to have a great time in Oregon.

  • Our time at April's place was amazing! April and her whole family made us feel welcome and provided us with everything we needed. Her property is so beautiful, the tree house was the perfect place to stay for our first trip to Portland!! I can't wait to go back and would recommend staying with April to anyone who wants an awesome, authentic Portland experience! Thanks April!!

  • I stayed at the treehouse on a trip with my mother, future mother in law and maid of honor to find my wedding dress! April was warm and accommodating the entire trip and welcomed us to her home and treehouse! The treehouse is so cool and their place is beautiful! April is probably the friendliest person and I could not ask for a better host! We ended up finding my dress and having an incredible bonding experience, I'll never forget our stay here!

  • arrival and check in was super smooth and April was completely understanding of our late arrival, as we had an evening flight coming from Philadelphia. we were greeted with chocolate, fresh fruit, flowers and champagne at the bedside to welcome us: it's our honeymoon! the bed was extremely comfortable, and my husband and I felt very at ease. April and her family were awesome to talk to and super nice! We wish we had more time to get to know them. Thank you April & family for a great first part of our stay in Oregon! :)

WE ARE COMPLETELY BOOKED FOR APRIL/MAY/JUNE/JULY 2018. We will book Aug/Sep/Oct/Nov starting at 9 a.m. Pacific Daylight Saving Time on Sunday, May 6th, 2018. Our 2018 season runs April 20-November 11. To be on our Cancellation Notification List email summitprairie at the email of the world's most popular search engine (starts with a G). See Tips and Information for getting a booking below...
2018 BOOKING PROCEDURE Our 2018 season runs April 20 through November 11 and we have completed bookings for April/May/June/July. We will start booking for August/September/October/November on Sunday, May 6th at 9 a.m. Pacific Daylight Saving Time. On our early season booking date, the calendar was filled in less than 5 minutes. If you become a previous guest, make sure we have your email address so we can send you a notification of previous guest booking dates. Previous guests usually book about half of the season and almost all of the weekend dates prior to the calendar being opened to the general public. Please check our Airbnb listing at https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/3405072 over the 2017/2018 winter to confirm the exact dates and times. Because we are on over 19,000 Airbnb Wish Lists and we can only take about 55-60 reservations per year, there will be hundreds of guests trying to get a booking when we open the calendar. If you’re unable to get a booking in 2018, come to one of our Weekend Retreats this summer - we always allow our previous guests to book prior to opening the calendar to new guests. We will announce our 2018 Weekend Retreat dates when we open the calendar in March so come stay 2 or 3 nights - bring your tent, sleeping bag, etc. and we will do all the food, campfire every night, local entertainment, yoga class in the lookout, day trips to local sites like Crater Lake, South Umpqua Falls, etc. etc. Or just hang out and soak in the hot tub, nap in the hammocks or hike around the forest - about 30 people or so, from all over the US and the lookout basically becomes the "clubhouse" for the weekend. You can find more information here - https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/11721311. You can Like the Summit Prairie on that site where you Like things or visit the summitprairie website for the latest updates. TIPS FOR GETTING A BOOKING 1. Make sure your Airbnb profile is filled out completely including a clear photograph of yourself, what city you are from and a little bit about yourself. Our intention is not to discriminate against anyone but when we see an incomplete profile we feel like a guest is trying to hide something. 2. Have all of your credit card information completed on your profile. Booking will happen very quickly and you will not have time to add credit card information when the calendar opens. 3. We will open the calendar promptly at 9 a.m. Pacific Time. Refresh your browser frequently. The entire booking window will last less than 10 minutes. Don't worry about sending us a message when you send us your booking request - someone else will grab the dates while you're typing your message! After the calendar appears full, continue to check back every few minutes during the first hour - guests frequently get overly excited when booking and dates that appear to have been booked end up opening up again. We will announce on the site when all dates are filled and booking is completed. 4. Be flexible on your dates. Most of the weekend dates and summer mid-week will already have been booked by our previous guests so most of the dates available will be early season (April/May) or late season (October/November). Even though we have a 2 night minimum, almost all of our guests that stay only two nights wish they had booked more. If you're staying only two nights, you really should plan on the spending the day in between at the property. 5. If you’re unable to get a booking, come to one of our Weekend Retreats this summer - as a previous guest, you'll have priority booking in future years. 6. If you're unable to get a booking, send us an email and we'll add you to our Cancellation Notification List. We usually get 5-6 cancellations during the season and the sooner you get on the list, the more chances you will get to book. Even if you have been on our cancellation list in previous years, please send us another request as we delete all the names on the list at the end of the season. 7. Finally, we do know that it is a complete hassle to book with us so we are extremely appreciative of you guys that stick with us through this process!! ---------------------------------------------------- Missing peace and quiet? Wishing for space to relax and renew? Here is your chance! Off the grid, atop a 40-acre meadow on 160 acres of private land. Surrounded by the Umpqua National Forest in Douglas County, Oregon. Welcome to Summit Prairie! Hear the wind give voice to the trees at the edge of the meadow. Listen to the birds calling in the valley below. Let the peace you feel here…. stay with you. Your hosts, Alan and Dabney, will welcome you, help carry your things up the four flights of stairs, and orient you to all the wonders of this place, then leave you in peace so you can enjoy. Built in 2009, the lookout tower is modeled after Fire Lookout Towers built by the US Forest Service in the early 1900's. However, it's enhanced with modern essentials: a full kitchen featuring hot and cold running water, propane stove, refrigerator, heater and lamps, exterior shower, comfortable beds in the cupola and main floor with windows all around to let in summer breezes and breath-taking views. And while simply chilling at Summit Prairie is oh-so-fine, think of this place also as a launch point for day trips to Crater Lake (2 hours), or Ashland, site of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival (1.5 hours), or historic Jacksonville, site of the annual Brit Festival (1.5 hours), Rogue River Rafting (45 minutes), the South Umpqua Falls (45 minutes) or the Seven Feathers Casino in Canyonville (1 hour). Imagine! Kick back and relax, read a book, play a game (or three)… write in a journal, meditate… daydream in the hammocks down the hill… soak your cares away and relax in a secluded wood-fired, spring-fed hot tub… Even dance under the moon or sing to the stars. Memories are made here. Come to Summit Prairie...
  • My husband and I spent our honeymoon at the Summit Prairie and holy smokes it exceeded our expectations and more! Dabney and Alan were warm, inviting and even had a tasty bottle of wine and chocolate waiting for us upon our arrival. They also knew so much about the area and offered advice for places to explore (including the Rogue Gorge which was epic!) They were incredibly accommodating and my husband and I felt like their place was our own home! It was so cozy. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud! My only regret is that I wished I would have stayed longer!! I hope to return one day again. Thank you D&A!

  • Beautiful , comfortable facilities and gracious, interesting, & kind hosts. We feel lucky to have stayed here.

  • The fire tower has every thing one needs to relax. We explored the property on daily walks, read books, cooked amazing meals, and of course sat and observed the beautiful view from the tower. Alan and dabney are excellent hosts. Will be back!

  • I went on this trip expecting a fun and slightly different experience given that we were staying 40 ft up in a treehouse. I was granted that exact experience. What I didn't expect was to meet two amazing people with a love and vivacious for life and to share their love of their place so fully with us. I can only say that all of it was magical and I can not wait to come back again.

  • All the photos and good reviews can't convey how wonderful Alan and Dabney's place is. The lookout is incredibly comfortable and the location on the edge of a National Forest is simply stunning. Communication with Alan and Dabney was fantastic; before we arrived Dabney gave us a call to go over directions, suggestions for things to see in the area, and any questions we had. When we arrived, Dabney was there to greet us (unfortunately, Alan was traveling during our stay) and show us everything we needed to know. We thoroughly enjoyed our couple of days there and hope to visit for a longer stay soon!

  • People like Dabney and Alan and places like Summit Prairie are why I Airbnb. There are few words that can adequately describe the experience of waking up 40 feet in the air in the middle of what feels like a cloud....this place is truly special. I always enjoy the chance to connect with Dabney and Alan who are so inspirational and such great company. Thank you both for continuing to keep this dream alive.

  • Oh my, what a wonderful experience we had at Dabney and Alan's Lookout tower! My partner, mother and I stayed here to celebrate my 30th birthday. Dabney and Alan were such gracious hosts, and we couldn't have enjoyed our time there more. We're going have to start making plans now for our next stay there, as surely it will be another year or so out with how popular this spot is! Thanks again Dabney and Alan, we really loved it!

    Maria & Daniel2016-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • This place is magic. This magic has much to do with the wonderful hosts, Dabney and Alan. From the moment we arrived, we felt so welcomed. These two have created such a perfect oasis in the sky. The lookout itself is cozy and breathtaking, with everything needed for a home away from home. The silence and grandeur of this property left us in awe - this land will not soon leave our memories. We had the great luck of spending and evening drinking wine with our hosts and getting to know them and how they came to love this place and one another. What an incredible pair. We cannot wait to spend more time with these two. The highlights of this place are many - the wood fired hot tub overlooking the mountaintops, sitting on the deck with our morning coffees, reading the tales of Laura Hartley to one another in the evening, the beautiful hiking trails around the lookout, the cozy bed in the cupola, the sweet ukulele ready to be played, and the feel of the air, to name a few. We feel so blessed to have gotten the chance to stay in this wonderland and to have met these two passionate, kind, beautiful souls. We cannot wait to come back. If you can book this place, do it now! You'll never forget it.

• Carole is a absolutely amazing woman with a amazing space to share. This is perfect for more adventurous spirits especially those who love to be outdoors. The bed she makes in the tree house is so comfortable and she is here for any needs you may have. She had a wonderful breakfast with berries from the garden waiting for us. Staying in the tree house maximized my Portland experience and I would stay there again any time if she would have me.

  • Wonderful place!

  • Carole is the chillest

  • A unique place to stay, as well as a good location in Portland if you want something not too far from the main city. Really cold nights if you come in November, so come prepared. But overall great stay and a great story to tell my friends. Thank for having us!

  • I had a great time staying at the treehouse! Carole is a wonderful host and the treehouse itself is very cool and comfortable. The padding and pillow she left made it really easy to roll out my sleeping bag and relax. The location is centrally located in a pretty neighborhood. If you like camping and are looking for a little urban adventure i highly recommend the treehouse.

  • The treehouse is very charming and a great, unique place to stay in Portland. The location is easy enough to take the bus to/from the downtown. Carole was extremely friendly and we shared many good conversations. It was very thoughtful that she provided a light breakfast, which is rare with airbnb. Highly recommended!

  • Carole and her tree house make the cutest pair! The tree house was cozy and sweet. I love that you must actually climb the tree to get into the tree house.

  • Overall wonderful experience. Carole was on top of everything, and I felt right at home. I know where I will be staying the next time I visit Portland!

Open on May 1. Bend's only rentable adults only (NO Children) treehouse. 10x10 treehouse with loft full sized air mattress. 12x18 "High Deck" is attached to the treehouse by a little bridge leading to the swinging/floating queen air mattress. Fall asleep to the bubbling stream. No sleeping in, the roosters will wake you in the morning. Electricity in treehouse. Composting toilet under the treehouse, hot water outside shower. Kitchen/cooking area under the treehouse, with propane stove.
    * Open May 1 for summer season. * When you arrive you must come to the front door of the two story house to be taken back to the treehouse. Do not go into the back yard on your own. There are instructions that need to be told to you about the treehouse. * Please make reservations for the correct number of people staying overnight in the treehouse. 1 GUEST means 1 person sleeps overnight in the treehouse. 2 GUESTS means that 2 people are staying overnight in the treehouse. I have been having problems with people not paying attention to how many people they want to sleep in the treehouse. +=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+ * THERE IS A FEE FOR EACH GUEST STAYING IN THE TREEHOUSE THAT INCLUDES CHILDREN. +=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+ * No children under 12 years old in the treehouse! * All persons over 12 years old are considered guests and must be paid for and counted in the total guests. * This is a very small treehouse, 10'x10' so don't expect a lot of room inside the treehouse, but there is an additional 12'x18' high deck attached to the treehouse that has a floating queen sized air mattress/memory foam bed available. * You have access to the little river by the treehouse, plus the hanging-spring-mounted chairs under the "high deck". * You can sit and watch the chickens that live on the property. You will be sent to sleep by the river and awakened by the roosters, so be prepared. * Some people bring earplugs if they want to sleep in because of the roosters. * There is an outside shower available with hot water. * Composting toilet for your use also. So be aware that this is much like camping. This is NOT like a HOTEL or even MOTEL room. So be prepared for "roughing it". There is dirt floor under the treehouse. • Our first experience with Airbnb will be tough to beat! We loved our stay in the Bend Treehouse near the babbling brook. It was beautiful and relaxing. Not long after our introductions and settling in, we felt like we were staying with friends. Hosts Mike and Janet were so welcoming, helpful and thoughtful. We can totally pictures ourselves going back! -- Esther and Stan

  • Amazing experience! We made it to the treehouse later than we expected, and the hosts were still very kind and showed us around at 10:30 at night. The high deck was amazing and so relaxing. We laid on the floating bed and ended up falling asleep to the water below. We woke up at 2 am and made our way to the treehouse and woke up to such a beautiful view. The area itself is lovely too and we found some great hikes. I would love to come again!

  • We had the most amazing time at the treehouse! We spent two nights, and slept out on the swinging bed for both -- the sound of the river was heaven. Everything went very smoothly, arrival was seamless, and we even enjoyed fresh eggs from Mike's hens in the mornings. The set up under the treehouse is so smart and efficient. We used the stove for breakfast each day, and showering outside was blissful. The treehouse is nestled behind the main house (and beautiful garden) but we always felt we had total privacy. I can't recommend Mike's treehouse enough. It was the perfect retreat for some real peace and quiet. It's close enough to downtown Bend if you're looking to venture out but far enough removed to disconnect as well (although the wifi was great too!). It was an outstanding experience I wouldn't hesitate to do again!

  • What a wonderful space! My husband and I loved the unique treehouse and especially the hanging bed. It was quite chilly the night we stayed but there were plenty of blankets to stay cozy. The location is a little out of town but nice and quiet. Mike and Janet were very friendly and welcoming.

  • We stayed 2 nights over Memorial Day weekend at Mike & Janet's treehouse and had a great time. Mike & Janet greeted us when we arrived and gave us a lay of the land and even gave us a bunch of eggs from their chickens to use for making breakfast for ourselves. The area was so calming and restful along the river, and all the hanging chairs and hammocks made relaxing impossible to avoid. We ended up spending the first night in the treehouse and then the next night we slept outside in the awesome suspended bed on the elevated loft looking over the river. The nights get chilly but there was plenty of blankets and we loved being able to sleep outside and listen to the river run by. The place is also less than 10 minutes outside of downtown Bend, so it served as a great home base for checking out all that the city had to offer. Thanks again!

  • We loved the treehouse! So many great places to sit and enjoy the beautiful scenery. We loved sleeping outside listening to the river! And Mike very kindly gave us some fresh eggs to cook for breakfast. Definitely recommend!

  • It was great to be on the water but too expensive for 4 people and the chickens were absolutely rowdy.

  • The setting was amazing with views of the stream and countryside. We only used the swinging bed on the platform and it was a fun experience. We had fresh eggs for breakfast cooked on the camp stove provided. Mike and Janet were so thoughtful and efficient upon our arrival. While they were showing us around they realized the propane was low so immediately ran out to replace it for us. Like the ad says its like camping so be prepared for that. The rooster starts his noise early but we were able to sleep in even with the sounds. It was a really fun experience!
