The Den is a unique space within the Lake District - a Scandinavian style BBQ cabin. A large BBQ pit in the centre to sit around provides a cosy relaxing evening space, and a place to cook! WiFi, Fridge, Microwave, Kettle & Nespresso. Bedding provided, and a heated blanket! 8 minutes by car to Windermere, 5 minutes to Kendal. Easy access to a bus stop and cycle lane. Dales Way very close by. A camping-type toilet and sink (hot & cold water) next to the cabin. Dogs welcome £5/night extra.
Set in 2/3rds of an acre of beautiful gardens with private countryside views. Off street private and secure parking is provided. Toilet is located next to The Den in a separate shed. The sink has running hot & cold drinking water. Please note there are not shower facilities, but the sink with running water is suitable for taking a daily wash.
We are about half way between Kendal and Windermere. The main cycle lane into the Lake District is directly across the road, as is the Dales Way walking path. The Den is in a semi-rural setting with views to the surrounding countryside. For clarity's sake, during busy rush hours there is some traffic noise from the road, but evenings and nights are typically quiet. Please note that we are not the Windermere Camping Site, despite the AirBnB map showing it close by!

  • Matthew fue un excelente y amable anfitrión. Explicó los entresijos del espacio y cómo operar la fogata / barbacoa y el inodoro exterior con mucha claridad. El espacio en sí estaba extremadamente limpio y ordenado, con muchos pequeños toques aquí y allá para hacer una excelente estadía. Cada pequeño detalle ha sido pensado e incluido. Nos quedamos después del año nuevo, así que la cabaña estaba un poco fría al principio; sin embargo, con la manta eléctrica y el calentador interior, esto no fue un problema por mucho tiempo.   • Acabamos de regresar de un par de días increíbles en el Distrito de los Lagos con una noche en The Den. Era algo un poco diferente de la estancia habitual en el hotel y nos encantó poder hacer nuestra propia cena en la comodidad de nuestra habitación. Aunque hacía mucho frío, se proporcionaron una manta eléctrica y muchos tiros, junto con el fuego de la barbacoa y un calentador que pronto calentamos. También tomamos un par de botellas de agua caliente, lo que ayudó. La cama era muy cómoda y el baño era genial. También había (posiblemente sobrante) sal, pimienta, salsas, etc. disponibles, lo cual fue útil ya que olvidé sal y pimienta para nuestros filetes.     Tommy Bit is our shepherd's hut for 2 in Borrowdale, the heart of the Lake District. Enjoy fantastic views, cook up a meal on the campfire or curl up on the sofa in front of the wood burning stove. Fabulous walks from the hut to the lake and fells.
    Please note, we can usually only offer arrivals on Fridays and Mondays. If you wish to arrive on a day other than Monday or Friday please get in touch and we can check if we can help you. Tommy Bit is our cosy, traditionally styled shepherd's hut in Borrowdale, the English Lake District, which is nestled at the foot of the fells with wonderful valley and woodland views. Shower and toilet facilities are in our barn about 40m away. Glamping at its best! Keep snug in the winter with Tommy Bit's wood burning stove, or cook outside in the summer on the fire pit. Relax after a day exploring the Lakes in our wood fired outdoor hot tub (£25 for exclusive use for a day, please book in advance). We provide tea & coffee and Tommy Bit has a kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge inside and a fire pit outside for you to cook up an outdoor storm! Or you can try one of the local hotels for dinner. Bed linen, towels, crockery, cutlery and appropriate cooking things are provided. Tommy Bit has a fold down small double bed (4ft wide instead of 4ft 6), which folds away, fully made up, into a sofa in the day. There is a folding table with stools inside as well as outdoor table and chairs. In case of rain, a tarpaulin can be suspended from wires above the outdoor area. There is a shared room nearby with washer, drier, lots of tourist information and puzzles and games that you can take back to the hut. We also provide all our guests with our 'walks from the door' which we have written ourselves: 12 walks of varying lengths that you can enjoy straight out of the gate.
    Manesty is less than a mile from the Derwentwater lakeshore and about the same distance from the pretty village of Grange, with its teashops and double hump-backed bridge over the River Derwent. The 'Honister Ramber' bus takes you the 5 miles into Keswick (which has the nearest shops) from the doorstep between Easter and November, or the launch runs all-year round, as does a bus from Grange. We're in a perfect location for walks, water sports, touring the villages, or just sitting back to relax! We're at the foot of Catbells, which is well known as the Lake's favourite beginner's fellwalk, but there are also challenging day hikes up Scafell (the highest mountain in England) or relaxing rambles by the lake or in the woods.

  • Este lugar es perfecto! Fui a pasar un fin de semana de chicas con un amigo ... queríamos alejarnos de nuestras vidas agitadas y desconectarnos por unos días. La ubicación es absolutamente hermosa. La pequeña choza de pastores era tan linda! Cocinamos toda nuestra comida en un quemador de leña, calentamos el jacuzzi después de un largo día caminando. Exploramos algunos paseos hermosos con la ayuda de los anfitriones. Caminatas impresionantes desde la puerta. Alan y Cheryl fueron muy acogedores y muy serviciales, sinceramente, no podría recomendar este lugar más.

    Awarded 4 Stars by Visit Britain. Guests say the lodge is clean, comfortable, cosy, well appointed, relaxing and good value. Perfectly placed in the countryside of the Northern Lake District amongst other similar lodges. Near Penrith, Keswick, and the lakes of Ullswater, Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite. Local animals such as Red Squirrels, Pheasants, Rabbits, Hares and Deer wander about. We have our place professionally cleaned after each guest with bedding and towels included in the price.
    The Lodge has been described by previous visitors as clean, comfortable, cosy, beautifully appointed, relaxing and very good value for money. The Lodge is perfectly placed in the northern Lake District to explore the whole region by car, not far from towns Penrith, Carlisle and Keswick nestling on the fringe of Greystoke Forest. Ullswater, Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite Lake are within easy reach as are many delightful climbs - Catbells, Blencathra and Latrigg to name just a few. Castlerigg Stone Circle, just outside Keswick, is perhaps the most atmospheric and dramatically sited of all British stone circles. The Lodge is our private holiday home and is comfortably furnished and equipped to a high standard. There are 2 twin bedrooms sleeping 4 people comfortably, fitted kitchen with integrated appliances, open plan lounge/dining area with flat screen TV, DVD and Hi-fi. Landline and Free Wifi Internet connection. The Lodge benefits from a south facing decked balcony equipped with patio table and chairs from which you can relax and enjoy the abundant wildlife.

  • Nuestra estancia en el lugar de Ralph no me decepcionó. Fabuloso alojamiento en una excelente ubicación. Hay mucho para ver y hacer en los alrededores y un tiro de piedra de los lagos. El alojamiento en sí era acogedor, estaba limpio y equipado con artículos de alta calidad, desde ropa de cama hasta accesorios de cocina. Viajamos livianos e incluso con dos niños pequeños remolcados no había nada que pudiéramos haber pedido. Desde juegos, DVD, música y libros hasta todo lo que pueda necesitar para preparar una comida de 3 platos o un picnic, este lugar lo tiene todo. El paquete de bienvenida completo cubrió todas las bases. La comunicación de Ralph fue excelente y su consejo para visitar el círculo de piedra del Castillo Rigg fue muy apreciado. Recomendaríamos encarecidamente el lugar de Ralph a cualquiera que desee una escapada fácil a los lagos en un lugar de calidad.

    Large suite of rooms on the top floor of our Georgian Grade II listed house in Kendal town centre quietly tucked away at the head of an historic cobbled yard. Double bedroom, huge adjoining living room (with basic kitchenette and double sofa bed) and modern bathroom all for the exclusive use of our guests. Free parking.
    Although the suite is part of our house, it is private and self contained with its own access so you can come and go as you please. The suite can comfortably accommodate 4 people with 1 double bedroom, large private living room (28ft x 21ft - 8.5m x 6.5m) with basic kitchenette and double sofa bed and a modern private bathroom. Please note: there are no cooking or washing up facilities in the suite. Crockery and cutlery is provided for breakfast and/or takeaway food and we collect and do the washing up for you when requested! All rooms have double height ceilings with exposed beams, great views across Kendal's rooftops to the hills beyond and plenty of character. The living room has 2 large lounging sofas (one of which opens to a comfortable double bed) a 48" Smart HD TV and DVD player and kitchenette with fridge, kettle, Nespresso coffee machine and Aeroccino milk frother, toaster, crockery and cutlery. The bedroom has a double bed, flat screen TV and digital radio. The bathroom has a large free-standing bath with hand held shower, twin sinks, underfloor heating and glass towel warmer. Towels, bed linen, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, universal travel adaptor and hot water bottles are provided. Wi-fi. You'll find a large selection of DVDs under the coffee table and an array of local interest books, leaflets and maps which you are welcome to use during your stay. Help-yourself-breakfast is provided for each day of your stay at no extra cost (homemade bread, butter and preserves, fresh fruit, cereal, milk, local yoghurts, fruit juices, black and herbal teas and a selection of Nespresso coffees). There are ice cubes in the freezer compartment of the fridge. Please take a look at our guidebook for details of local restaurants and eateries we recommend. We own a miniature Dachshund (very small). Her name is Miss Saveloy Sausage or Savvy for short. She is very quiet, friendly and adores children but is never allowed in the suite (she can't get up the stairs - they are too big)!
    There is a superb supermarket 2 minutes walk away that stocks a wide variety of local and specialist produce and has an excellent cheese counter, deli section and off licence. Kendal's bustling high street is one minute's walk away where you'll find plenty of shops, a library, the post office and several banks. There's a Costa on the main high street and Caffe Nero is in the marketplace. It's worth exploring Kendal's historic yards where you'll find many of our more individual retailers and businesses. The market town of Kendal lies just outside the spectacular Lake District National Park, has plenty of pubs, cafés, takeaways and restaurants, 2 museums, a leisure centre with swimming pool, golf course, the Abbot Hall Art Gallery and the Brewery Arts Centre with a theatre, cinemas, art galleries, bars and a regular live music programme (visit the breweryarts website). There are plenty of places to explore with lovely parks (Kendal Castle, Serpentine Woods and Noble's Rest) and pleasant walks along the river Kent right on our doorstep. There is a street market every Wednesday and Saturday and a farmer's market once a month. EATERIES AND CAFÉS WE RECOMMEND: CASTLE DAIRY Visit castledairy.co.uk to book. The Castle Dairy Restaurant and Art Gallery offers a unique dining experience in Kendal’s oldest inhabited building.   • Me he alojado en muchos Air BnBs, y este lugar es sin duda el mejor, el lugar más hermoso en el que me he alojado. Caryn ha decorado el apartamento hermosamente y tiene todas las comodidades que podemos imaginar. Fue genial hojear todos los libros sobre el Distrito de los Lagos que tenía allí, y la hermosa bañera y los pisos con calefacción eran realmente increíbles (y perfectos después de una caminata en la lluvia / nieve). La cocina tenía todo lo que necesitábamos para el té. Café, y desayuno, y el espacio nos hizo sentir como en casa de inmediato.   • Tuvimos la estancia más maravillosa en la Casa de Color. Desde el momento de nuestra llegada, todo fue perfecto, fácil check-in, una encantadora bienvenida y un hermoso Airbnb. La Color House en sí tiene todo lo que podrías necesitar, incluidos los extras que ni siquiera hubieras pensado, como tijeras para uñas y un kit de primeros auxilios. Lo más destacado incluyó la increíble cafetera, una cama muy cómoda y una gran bañera para bañarse de lujo. Hay un abundante desayuno que incluye un montón de comida local, ¡que incluye un delicioso pan fresco!     With jaw dropping views down the valley over Bassenthwaite Lake and just a stones throw from Keswick, our site at Kestrel Lodge Campsite makes for an ideal location for exploring the Lake District and northern fells. A fantastic local pub within walking distance, superb scenery from the door of your yurt, a better location for your Lake District glamping holiday you will be hard pushed to find.

High enough so you don’t have to bend down when walking around and set on a raised wooden tongue and groove floor come and enjoy a back to nature holiday without compromising on the usual luxuries you would expect from you holiday. Our Yurts We have three 18ft yurts each accommodating up to six persons comfortably. There is a standard double bed and four single futon style beds. Era un lugar perfecto para regresar después de largas caminatas (húmedas), y muy cálido por dentro con la estufa de leña, ¡especialmente cuando había fuertes lluvias y fuertes vientos afuera! Las camas son muy cómodas, y el camping está muy bien ubicado con excelentes comodidades en el lugar y el famoso pub Old Dungeon Ghyll ubicado muy cerca. Sin duda volveremos.

La tienda es muy buena, probablemente podría llevar un poco más de existencias de alimentos estándar como jamón, queso, pan, pero un problema menor.

    HerdyView Lodge is situated in a peaceful location, overlooking rolling hills surrounded by nature on the edge of the Lake District National Park. It is a cosy, modern 3 bedroom chalet with a log burner. Situated close to the market town of Penrith and Lake Ullswater it is in a perfect location for exploring the Lake District and the Eden Valley. Away from the tourist crowds but also within easy access to hotspots and amenities. There are attractions in the local area for all ages and interests.
    HerdyView Lodge is a Scandinavian lodge based on a small, quiet residential site and is surrounded by local farming land on the edge of the Lake District National Park. It is within easy access to the Lake District, Eden Valley and the Peninnes. Surrounded by local wildlife and plenty of walks. The lodge is well equipped for all self catering needs and comprises of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a large open plan lounge/kitchen. Guests are free to use the log burner and wood is provided for their first fire. The old traditional large windows at the front opens onto a decking area that overlooks fields in front (often occupied by Herdwick sheep). At the back of the lodge is a small garden with seating where a small BBQ and fire pit are also provided. Here also there is a small herb garden to use. There is space for two cars to park at the front of the property. There is always tea and coffee to use as well. The space is very peaceful and relaxing with herdwick sheep, rabbits, deer and cows regularly occupying the view. The lodge is convenient for the M6 north and south also.
    The lodge is 5 minutes from the Market Town of Penrith and 5 minutes to Lake Ullswater. There are plenty of nice pubs, tearooms and restaurants nearby to enjoy. There is a pub within walking distance serving local ales and food. The nearest villages include Askham (an pretty village where Askham hall is located who have an award winning tea room and restaurant), Lowther (where you can explore Lowther Castle and Gardens), Tirril (the Queens Head pub here sells award winning pies). There is direct access to numerous walks/cycle routes in this surrounding area, Eden valley, Lowther land and the North Lake District fells. Lake Ullswater has many walks connected by the Ullswater steamer boats, access to different water sports and many other attractions. Pooley bridge is the nearest point on the Lake, where there are pubs, tea rooms, shops and walks. Another fantastic area to explore is Haweswater reservoir, a quieter place and where walks are more remote and equally, if not more, beautiful (if you have a Northern Lakes OS map then the front cover is a picture on a walk at Haweswater). The Market town of Penrith provides you with local amenities, supermarkets, independent shops and cafes. There are many places to take children nearby, visitor centres (such as Rheged and bird of prey centre), an ice cream farm and also many historical sites to see for example Lowther and Brough castle. From the lodge you can easily explore a wide variety of areas, not just the Lake District National Park but also the Pennines, Eden valley and the historic north Cumbria (such as Hadrians wall!)

    My stone terrace cottage is located in one of Kendal's conservation areas and 5 minutes walk to the station, town centre and the river Kent. The cottage is a cosy, quiet, relaxing space with an enclosed wildlife garden at the back of the house.
    The house was built in 1820 as an old weavers house apparently. I renovated it 8 years ago with an open plan kitchen and lounge with wood burning stove. The kitchen has an fan oven and gas hob, fridge and freezer, kettle, toaster and microwave, and everything you need to cook meals or enjoy a take-out. There is a small kitchen table and chairs that you can get out and use in the house or for breakfast in the garden. The log burner is a treat in winter with a free supply of wood. There is Wifi and a selection of books and maps, allowing you to make the most of your stay. The bedroom is a good size with a comfortable double bed, wardrobe (with full length mirror inside), chest of draws and chair. The bathroom has a bath/shower combination. The enclosed garden out the back gets the sun in the morning till early evening in the summer so you can sit have breakfast or dinner and watch the bees buzzing around wildflowers, pick herbs for cooking or alpine strawberries for breakfast if there are any left :) There's bike (or general kit) storage out the back or in the cellar should you need it. Also bike cleaning facilities. You will have a parking permit for the local area so can park for free either outside the house or nearby. It does get full late afternoon when residents come back from work so you might have to park in one of the adjacent streets. its fine to load outside the door though. Everyone does it.
    Kendal is an old market town situated in what i think is one of the most beautiful parts of the country – the Lake District. Its also within 30 minutes drive of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, making it a perfect base for outdoor sport addicts, walkers and sightseers....

    Greystoke is a stunning village, the centre of which is a mere 200 yards away. We have a fabulous pub "The Boot & Shoe", a village shop where you can buy everything you may need and we are lucky enough for it still to retain it's Post Office! A short walk from the central Shop/Post Office will allow you to take in the splendour of our 14th Century Church, itself quite spectacular and something to take a look at. About 7 miles from Greystoke you will find our nearest stretch of water "Lake Ullswater" and it's just stunning. We have Pooley Bridge to one side, then Glenridding and Patterdale to the other, all have boats to hire so you can explore the Lake for yourselves, but there is always the Ferry's that can collect and drop you off at various points throughout the length of the Lake. A 20 minute drive and you could be in Keswick, a wonderful town with lots to see and do, and them there hills and mountains are calling for you to climb them. Grasmere, Ambleside and Windemere are not much further so you'll be spoilt for choice as you are surrounded with the beauty of the Lake District. Carlisle is also about a 20 minute drive from here in the other direction, itself is a fascinating place to visit, with it'a Castle and Cathedral, Tullie House Museum and much more. Just a little further and you have "Hadrian's Wall" and the Roman Fort "Birdoswald"

    Set back from the main hall and nestling in its own private woodland garden is the former Dairy. The dairy offers accommodation for up to 2 (a couple). The layout is fairly unique with mezzanine type sleeping accommodation via a steep wooden ladder. There is a log burning stove in the living room. The Dairy has a fully equipped compact kitchen and a shower room on the ground floor.
    Tea and coffee basics are provided for your arrival so you can arrange a hot drink before you unpack. Unlike other venues, we provide tea towels, an oven glove , cooking oil and salt and pepper with the intention to make your stay as stress free and comfortable as possible. Due to unique style of the Dairy, it is not suitable for those who struggle on their feet. Unavoidable stone steps lead down to the front door. Prior to arrival you will be sent an introductory induction video and need to confirm you have seen this.
    It's a lovely area. Mobile phone signal is limited to the Vodafone network at present.

    Bright and cheerful ensuite studio flat on the edge of the Lake District National Park. Great views of Helvellyn and High Street. Lake District hikes, cycling or sightseeing within a few minutes. There is a small well equipped kitchen with hob, fridge and microwave for preparing light meals. The local pub is a 10 minute walk and serves excellent food with 2 other good food pubs just down the road. Guests are welcome to share use of our BBQ corner with fabulous view of the mountains.
    Our studio flat is one living/ sleeping room and a good size en suite bathroom. There is a private entrance and you have sole use of the entire flat. There is a double bed, small kitchen with 2 burner induction hob, microwave and fridge. There's a kettle and toaster and some tea and coffee to get you started. The dining table and chairs have a lovely view of the eastern fells. There's a TV, DVD, Books and games and we have WIFI. The room has a pull up drying rack to hang wet kit and get it out of the way. Outside the flat there's a private use picnic table and chiminea. The main garden also has a shared use BBQ area that guests are very welcome to use, it's a great place to sit and watch the sunset. Bed linen and towels are provided and we have some basic toiletries for guest use. You will also find sweeping brush, dust pan and cleaning cloths to help keep the flat clean and tidy during your stay. The flat should be left clean and tidy at the end of your stay and any dirty laundry left in the laundry basket in the wardrobe cupboard.
    Our house is on the very edge of the beautiful village of Motherby, on the very edge of the Lake District National Park. We have stunning views from every window and the garden opens out into unbroken views of the fields and mountains beyond. We have several village pubs within walking distance that all serve very good food. We are a 10 minute walk from the hourly bus service between Penrith (on the North West train line) and Keswick in the heart of the Northern Lake District. We are a 10 minute drive to Lake Ullswater with it's stunning views, Lake Cruises and endless walks and a 15 minute drive to Keswick and Lake Derwentwater. Both Lakes sport numerous water activities. Keswick also has a wide range of wet weather alternatives including swimming pool, climbing wall, theatre, cinema, museums and visitor centres.

    Set in a quiet converted Mews, the Granary is a cosy, light and spacious apartment with bath and shower, kitchen, dining area, lounge and separate bedroom with king sized bed.
    There is a window seat in the lounge offering a view of Knipe Scar. The private garden has a lockable shed for storage of bikes or other outdoor equipment.
    There is a village store/Post Office a 2 minute walk from the property and two pubs within half a mile. There are lots of other good pubs and cafes between 3 and 10 miles away. Details of these and menus where possible are stored at the Granary. It's a great location for walking. You can access a footpath which takes you down to the river, a quarter of a mile away, without having to go on roads, and there you'll find the peaceful riverside path. For the more adventurous, there are plenty of hill and mountain walks offering great views of Haweswater and Ullswater. There are over 30 laminated guided walks stored at the property, to give you some ideas to get started. There are also loads of great places for cycling and other outdoor activities.

  • Nos alojamos aquí por 3 noches. Ubicación remota zona absolutamente impresionante. El granero estaba bien equipado y muy cómodo, como en casa. Le sugeriría a cualquier persona que se aloje aquí que recoja lo esencial de los alimentos en su camino, ya que la tienda más cercana está a unas 7.5 millas de distancia. Set in the award winning gardens of Stafford House, itself an enchanting Grade 2 Listed "Folly" and nestling in the magnificent grounds of Greystoke Castle, and your pets are more than welcome to stay with you too!
    A warm and friendly welcome awaits all of our guests, and we are on hand to help you plan your stay. Within Pennine Lodge you will find a fully fitted kitchen with every appliance you may need. There is a full size fridge with an ice box, a full size oven and hob, a microwave, a toaster, also all your mugs, plates, bowls, glasses, a tea-pot, and a cafetierre. You will also find there is Tea, coffee, sugar, various cereals and porridge in the cupboard, fresh milk, orange juice, bread and spread in the fridge. We have Freeview TV with a built in CD player, free Wifi, all your Bed Linen and Towels, along with Shower Gell/Shampoo and a Hairdryer. We will do our very best to help make your stay here at Pennine Lodge as enjoyable as possible. Our nearest Lake "Ullswater" is only 7 miles from here, so if this is your first visit to The Lake District, I can almost guarantee that it won’t be your last.     Greystoke is a stunning village, the centre of which is a mere 200 yards away. We have a fabulous pub "The Boot & Shoe", a village shop where you can buy everything you may need and we are lucky enough for it still to retain it's Post Office! A short walk from the central Shop/Post Office will allow you to take in the splendour of our 14th Century Church, itself quite spectacular and something to take a look at. About 7 miles from Greystoke you will find our nearest stretch of water "Lake Ullswater" and it's just stunning. We have Pooley Bridge to one side, then Glenridding and Patterdale to the other, all have boats to hire so you can explore the Lake for yourselves, but there is always the Ferry's that can collect and drop you off at various points throughout the length of the Lake. A 20 minute drive and you could be in Keswick, a wonderful town with lots to see and do, and them there hills and mountains are calling for you to climb them. Grasmere, Ambleside and Windemere are not much further so you'll be spoilt for choice as you are surrounded with the beauty of the Lake District. Carlisle is also about a 20 minute drive from here in the other direction, itself is a fascinating place to visit, with it'a Castle and Cathedral, Tullie House Museum and much more. Just a little further and you have "Hadrian's Wall" and the Roman Fort "Birdoswald"

    Thornythwaite Farm is a cosy smallholding tucked into the foot of the fells above Ullswater lake. We're lucky enough to have space to work and play in this beautiful place, and for our growing menagerie of hens, ducks, sheep and bees. The fells are on our doorstep with the lake a 5 minute drive down into the valley and Keswick and Penrith are both easily reached in quarter of an hour. Dockray is a 5 minute walk down the road and is home to The Royal hotel which serves great food all day.

    The farm stands alone in its own land, surrounded by fields but with easy access to the road and local footpaths. It is a quiet and peaceful location, lots of birdsong and lovely views. There is the 400 year old Matterdale Church just across the road and a smattering of five neighbouring houses. The village of Dockray is a 7 minute walk away along a footpath which follows the road where The Royal Hotel serves food and drink. Thornythwaite Farm is a great location, nestled in the hills in the valley of Matterdale, close to lake Ullswater and great for walks. It is a lovely hour’s walk through woodland and past the water falls (Aira Force) to the lake where boats (the Ullswater Steamers) make trips to various points around the lake including Pooley Bridge . There are trails along the lake as well as walks up into the hills. There is a Sailing centre in Glenridding for boat hire.

    The Lake District is a World Heritage Site, and High Park is located in the most beautiful part of the area. This former farmhouse, once owned by Beatrix Potter, is situated on the Cumbria Way. The views are fantastic and at night, the silence is total. Although your bedroom is quite small, we do offer a King size double bed with a TV and a small fridge. You have your own private bathroom with great water pressure and piping hot water. We cook your breakfast how you like it - just ask!
    We only let one room - with its own bathroom - so you will be our only guests. Your room has a king size bed, a HD TV, a small fridge and free WiFi. Your bathroom has both a bath and shower. A downstairs room is available, both for breakfast and for you to relax in at any time. We work very hard to keep our house squeaky clean too! Extraordinary silence at night, coupled with a true dark sky, make staying at High Park a unique experience.
    We are in a secluded valley, but right in the middle of the Lake District. We offer peace and tranquility - and as one of our friends said recently, 'Probably the best view from a garden to be found in England'. The down side of this is that if you are looking for excitement and things to do in the evening, High Park might not be a good choice for you. There are two pubs within reasonable walking distance (20 - 30 minutes) and they serve evening meals and bar snacks. Because there is no street lighting, we are happy to provide you with a flashlight! Both Ambleside and Coniston (approx 5 miles away) offer a wide variety of pubs, cafes and restaurants.

    This superbly-situated flat has already enjoyed some big changes – the start of a transformation to make it the perfect place to enjoy Ullswater. There is an open plan kitchen/dining area/lounge with new John Lewis oven, hob and dishwasher, new pans by Green Pan and a striking teal sofa by Gallery Hudson. In the bedroom we have a new Ercol Teramo double bed, and you can enjoy luxurious linen from Tielle Love Luxury – we discovered it at the fabulous Pig hotels chain. There's a new Sony Bravia TV with around 80 channels and radio stations available and if you have a Netflix account you can connect up. And you can listen to your own music using our Minirig speaker. The bathroom has underfloor heating, a bath and a shower. There is a lobby so you don't need to bring muddy boots or wet gear in to the flat. And a private parking bay is included. The flat has an impressive sandstone portico and a huge bay window where the views of Ullswater and the fells – including Helvellyn – are unforgettable.
    Wreay Mansions is a cluster of apartments converted from a historic 19th century hunting lodge with elevated views of Ullswater – Wainwright's "loveliest of lakes" and the inspiration for Wordsworth's poem I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud. The new Ullswater Way walking route is at the end of the drive. Just down the hill is the Brackenrigg Inn with more great views, food including Sunday lunch, its own microbrewery and – in winter – a big, roaring fire. Bustling Pooley Bridge – with its pubs, shops and tea rooms by the river – is less than two miles away. There is a new temporary footbridge and free car park to use until the new stainless steel crossing opens this spring to replace the 300-year-old one swept away by floods in 2015. From the flat you can easily reach attractions like Aira Force waterfall, owned by the National Trust, and the Ullswater Steamers. You can ride, cycle, fish, sail, paddleboard or even wild swim nearby at Another Place hotel, which has fine dining and great bar food.     A charming apartment in a traditional Lakeland house. Ideal for walking, cycling, climbing, rowing, sailing and kayaking. Wide choice of shops, cafes, pubs & restaurants in nearby Windermere & Bowness. Main tourist attractions within easy reach.
    Willow is a located in tranquil woodland with views towards the mountains and fells. The apartment is part of an extension to Pinethwaite Lodge. The original part of Pinethwaite Lodge dates from the late 19th Century. Willow has a bedroom with double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers. The kitchen, dining and living area are all in one room with sink, electric oven, hob, microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster, dining table and chairs, settee and TV. The bathroom has underfloor electric heating, a shower, toilet and wash hand basin. A cot for a baby can be provided on request but please bring bedding for the cot (my children are in their mid 20s now!) Willow and our grounds are not 'child friendly', however. I do not provide child proof plug socket covers or cupboard locks. In addition there are a number of external hazards including a pond, stream and stone steps close to the apartment. Your child/children will need to be supervised at all times. I charge a one off payment of £5.00 for the use of the cot. I can provide a camp bed which fits in the kitchen/dining/living room area if the sofa is moved! It is a bit of a squeeze! If you wish to use the camp bed as well please bring a sleeping bag. I charge a one off hire fee of £5.00 for the use of the camp bed. There is a small courtyard by the entrance with table and chairs. Bicycles can be stored in an undercover storage area next to Willow in our shed.
    The Lake District is a year round destination and Pinethwaite Lodge is located near Windermere in the heart of the National Park. Outdoor opportunities are endless: walking, cycling climbing, rowing, sailing and kayaking - all within easy reach and Windermere Golf Club is just up the lane. The main tourist attractions of the southern Lake District are all on the doorstep – Windermere with cruise boats, Beatrix Potter attractions, a cinema in Bowness – and a little further away are the Aquarium of the Lakes, Car Museum, Sizergh Castle and Brockhole Visitor Centre. Bowness and Windermere are within a couple of miles, with a wide choice of shops, tea rooms, cafes and restaurants and modern and traditional pubs. The popular centre of Windermere is surrounded by very accessible vantage points that give glorious views of the surrounding area and lake. Orrest Head, a 784’ hill north of the town, provides one of the finest panoramas – as does School Knott – immediately behind Pinethwaite. Another easy climb is Biskey Howe, a 300’ hill east of Bowness, which has quaint narrow streets and a 15th century church. Windermere, the lake, has fourteen islands, including privately owned Belle Isle with its 18th century round house. Further afield, the list of stately homes, steam railways, lakes and tarns, homes of authors and poets, and fine eating places, is almost endless, all set in the deep valleys and foothills of the Lakeland fells, where some of Britain’s best scrambling and mountain walking may be found. Even in today’s busy world, it is possible still to leave cars and people behind and find solitude in many parts of the Lake District. In addition, Pinethwaite is a haven for wildlife: foxes, badgers, roe deer, and a wide range of birds, from buzzards, to long-tailed tits, warblers, fly catchers, heron, tawny owls and many more.

    This centrally heated, one bedroom Guest Suite is part of a Georgian property built in the late 1700s. The Suite is located in Newton Reigny which is a peaceful village 5 minutes drive from the historic town of Penrith. 5 minutes to the M6 and A66 allows for easy access to the Lake District World Heritage site (the closest lake Ullswater 15 minutes drive). Free parking on the property's driveway and space also available to store equipment.
    Sitting just 5 minutes from Penrith and the M6 this guest suite is in an ideal place for exploring the Lake District, town and surrounding areas. The most direct route to the closest lake Ullswater we find takes no more than 15 minutes (although Google maps says 17!). The guest suite is centrally heated by a renewable energy source. Downstairs it has a kitchen with a microwave oven, portable induction hob and a large selection of utensils. Across from the kitchen there is a sitting area where guests are able to relax by the electric opti-myst fireplace. Leading off the kitchen along the hallway there is the bathroom which has a walk in shower and heated towel rail. Upstairs is where the bedroom is located with a very comfortable king size bed and an electric blanket. The TV has all freeview channels and Netflix which has a large range of films, documentaries and TV series and can be used for free so is a perfect way to relax at the end of a day. The suite has keyless entry so guests are able to check themselves in. Across from the suite there is a heated utility room where guests are able to dry wet and muddy clothes/boots and store bikes/equipment. *Please note the driveway can be a bit narrow if you're in a large van*

    The house is located near the train station a mere 3 minutes walk away, buses also run from the train station , the house is situated just off the A592 and only 2 minutes from the motorway junction 40, A6 and A66. PLEASE NOTE : Check in times vary because of my shift working patterns some around 18.30 or before 17.30 , a message will be sent regarding the check in time as they do vary
    The guests can use the kitchen and shared bathroom, all showers to be taken before 11 pm to stop disturbing the home owner and other guests, the living room is a private area and not communal unless invited, the use of the garden is fine and there is room to store bicycles any questions please ask

Hovera, meaning eight in Cumbrian sheep counting, is a modern terraced property found in the popular village of Glenridding, on the south shores of Ullswater. With a sun room and separate living room, with comfy seating around the large wood burner and views of St Sunday Crag and Fairfield, you will find it difficult to tear yourself out of these rooms. On the first floor is a large twin bedroom, which can be made into a super kingsize on request, also boasting great views. The bathroom is also on the floor with a bath and separate large shower. The second floor takes you to a double bedroom with a kingsize bed. If your ideal holiday involves walking or cycling then you are already on the path to one of the Lake District National Park’s most famous peaks, Helvellyn. You only need to walk outside Hovera to be on a popular walking route, but as the property is also situated in Glenridding, you are also just a short drive from Keswick, Windermere and Ambleside if you fancy taking in the local shops, pubs and cafés.   • Fantástico apartamento justo en el centro de Keswick. Muy espacioso, más que suficiente espacio para 2 personas. 2 baños, que era un lujo extra! Uno con una ducha uno con un baño. Todo el equipo que necesitas para preparar una comida y más en la cocina. Inmaculadamente limpio en todo. Muy cómoda, enorme cama. No podría recomendar lo suficiente!

  • Disfrutamos mucho de nuestro largo fin de semana en un apartamento acogedor. La ubicación no podría ser mejor. Está justo a las puertas de pubs, tiendas y restaurantes, pero al mismo tiempo está escondido en una calle tranquila. La cama era cómoda, el baño y la cocina hermosos tienen todo lo que necesitas para preparar una comida básica. Sin duda volveremos.

    Room 1 comes with TV, dining table and settee as well as a self contained kitchen. It is above a Tea Room in the Church Yard. very quiet area of Penrith except for the church bells occasionally. Some meals can be provided at extra cost. Room 2 is smaller with a double bed, tv, kettle, double wardrobe and chest of drawers
    Center location, though quite, with access to local shops and amenities.
    The room is situated in St Andrews Church Yard and park area, in the heart of Penrith, with local amenities very accessible. The church clock is right outside the window but the chimes are turned off at night time, however, the church bells are rung occasionally each week.

Realmente apreciamos el desayuno incluido, que hizo que nuestra estancia fuera aún mejor. Estaríamos más que felices de volver a alojarnos allí cuando estemos en Penrith.

Two double bedrooms, and two bathrooms make it a perfect getaway for two couples or a family. The cottage is only 5 minutes off the M6, and you can be on the edge of Lake Ullswater within 15 minutes. The local village has a fantastic country pub dating from the 17th Century, swimming pool and shop. This really is the perfect location for discovering the Lake District!
    The cottage is situated in an ex-farm: Red Barn Farm. Originally part of Greystoke Castle Estate, Red Barn is comprised of 5 separate dwellings, two houses are occupied by the joint owners, and the remaining three are let for holidays. Red Barn is set in 2 acres of beautiful garden, which our free-range chickens love to wander. You can see straight across to Blencathra from our houses. Feel free to use the outdoor patio area for eating or relaxing.
    Greystoke is a rural village, on the edge of the Lake District National Park. Surrounded by mountains, and only 10-15mins from the nearest lake, it is a picturesque area. The village of Greystoke, which can be reached by a 5-10min walk from the property, has a great pub, swimming pool in the summer and village shop/post office. The property is only 5mins from the M6, Junction 40.
