“This is an absolute must-see if you are traveling to South Lake Tahoe (even for a day). It is the perfect thing to do if you have a few hours to look around. You can stop at many miradors and see the most scenic views that Tahoe has to offer.”

“Great place on the river learn about daily life during the gold rush. You can spend time exploring the outdoor park exhibits, relaxing by the rushing South Fork of the American River or getting a bite to eat at the Argonaut Farm to Fork Cafe.”

“D.L Bliss is a great spot to hang out for the day. Access is only permitted in Summer and Fall. Beautiful beach with spectacular views. There's also a great hike called the Rubicon Trail and an entrance fee to get in. The parking fills up quick so it's important to get out to this location early in the morning. ”

Beach
“The reason this is a favorite beach is that it is lined with pine trees, so you have the shade of the trees and the fresh Tahoe forest experience, but also the beautiful, amazing Lake Tahoe, great for swimming, renting Kayaks or paddle boards, picnics, and the perfect place to spend the day on the lake.”

Beach
“A historic landmark, Vikingsholm was built in 1929 as a summer home for Mrs. Lora Josephine Knight. It's well worth a trip, even if you don't pay the $10 for the tour. A short walk brings you to the edge of Emerald Bay, with astounding views. ”

Beach
“Dog friendly beach. Most often unregulated these days by the state park officials. Keep an eye on your dog. Clean up after your dog. Be respectful and well manage your dog and hopefully Kiva can stay our locals favorite dog beach. Can park either in the Kiva parking lot (Left side at the split on the road) or in the Valhalla parking lot (Right side at the split in road) I prefer to walk the grounds of Valhalla first heading towards Camp Richardson and then back track on the loop back to Kiva beach through the trails. It’s pretty fun and the dogs love that area filled with squirrels and historic feels. ”

“Our family's favorite hike! About a 40 minute drive heading towards South Lake, but definitely worth it! The hike is family friendly (Always seeing families of four on it and dogs) The hike is about an hour up and ends with the beautiful site of the Eagle Falls Lake! You can go for a dip, but it is icy cold! But something fun to do! About halfway up the hike there are jaw-dropping views of the lake and more specifically Emerald Bay, one of the most historical and iconic places of the whole lake, if not the most iconic spot of the whole lake!”
