  • Lance's place was probably the coolest place I have ever stayed in! Absolutely gorgeous view of all of Portland! Beautiful house! Gracious and friendly host! Very nice old cat!

    Francely2015-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Lance was super friendly, and his house is an architectural marvel with an amazing view. My girlfriend and I both felt welcome and had our privacy respected. This was my first experience with AirBnB and I'd be happy to do it again.

    Jeff2016-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Lance was a gracious host all week. The views from the treehouse were amazing! Great location close to downtown Portland. It was definitely a great experience. Thanks for your hospitality, Lance!

  • Lance was an awesome host, and the home is just incredible. Every Uber driver that stopped at the house wanted to get out and take pictures. Lance himself was very hospitable, offering a drink and a chat as soon as I arrived, coordinating coffee for my very early morning (I had to get up around 5 to catch a flight), and offering plenty of tips about places to go and things to do around town that all turned out to be pretty solid. And for the price, this place was an absolute steal. I would recommend a stay here to anybody in the Portland area.

    Doug2015-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful accommodations, kind host, and unbeatable view. Room was exactly as described and would stay again. At Lance's recommendation, went for a nice walk up to Council Crest.

    Kevin Kenji2016-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Lance was waiting in the garden for us when we arrived. He was generous with local area tips and spent time sharing the historic details of his amazing property. The treehouse is an architectural wonder.

    Renee2015-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Lance was super casual and welcoming. He made us a pot of coffee our first morning there and was flexible with anything we needed. The view is AMAZING. We unfortunately got sick during our stay which kept us resting for a lot of our trip, but with the view it was not a bad thing at all. The house overall is beautiful and peaceful.

    Lindsey2015-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • I'll just repeat what I said for my other stay, because it's all there is to say: Lance has a fantastic place to stay and he's a great host. The house is what it appears to be - quite singular. The views are spectacular. Your private suite downstairs is cozy and well equipped. Upstairs the common room is a striking semicircle of glass dotted with couches. Lance is a very pleasant fellow and will engage with you as much as you like, and will leave you alone as well. There's a really super chilled-out cat, too! You're up in hills and out of the way of the city but it's only 10-15 minutes away by car.

Unique hand built cob cottage next to lg. pond w water feature. Lg. fenced and gated yard. Gentle, curving space-made from sand, straw, water and earth . Featured in multiple international publications. The floor is also earthen clay with added radiant heat. Beautiful natural light. It's truly a magical place.
It's a curvilinear earthen structure hand sculpted from water, sand, straw, and clay earth. It features a radial roof with a central pagoda-like skylight. When building the Cob, we used reclaimed and natural materials when ever possible. The insulation in the ceiling is made from pulverized reclaimed blue jeans and the floor is made from the same earthen clay. It has a Dutch door, so you can open the top part for additional ventilation. It also has air conditioning available in the warmer months and a radiant heat floor. The bed is a very comfortable double with a memory foam mattress topper. The bathroom for the cottage is in the main house, about 40 steps to the back door. Inside you’ll find a large sitting room and full kitchen as well as your bath with claw foot tub and shower. These spaces are shared with 2 Airbnb rooms in the house. If you find the bath busy, our full bath is available upstairs on the second floor.
We are located in a sweet older neighborhood in inner SE Portland, built around the turn of the century. The neighborhood is extremely walkable/bikeable, and just two blocks from one of Portland's great restaurant rows, filled with unique locally owned restaurants, coffeehouses, bars, food carts, pot shops, ice cream vendors, pizza joints, clothing retailers, yoga studios and yes, even an old-school hardware store.
  • I stumbled upon this listing and knew right away that this is where I was supposed to stay when visiting Portland. As a cob builder myself, I can testify that this cob cottage was built with much skill and love. At the same time that I felt to be a solitary guest in a cabin in the woods, I was actually situated in the midst of one of Portland’s best walkable neighborhoods with access to restaurants of many cuisines, coffee shops, groceries, and transit to the rest of the city. I wish I could have had more time to chat with Chris and Jack, however, I used to live in Portland and my old buddies kept kidnapping me from my cottage my the koi pond. I did get to meet and chat with Cris one day on my way out on a venture. We had much to talk about and left much for the next time we might meet. Cris and Jack are tremendously hospitable and so is the space they have created. If you are visiting Portland, and are looking for a unique and comfortable dwelling in a great neighborhood, and if you are lucky enough for this cozy space to be available, don’t hesitate one second. It’s the best deal in town.

    Trevor2016-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived just as Jack and Cris got home so we got to meet them right away. They were so gracious and wonderful, showed us around and instantly we felt at home. They built the amazing cob hut themselves and it was cozy and clean and it was awesome to fall asleep underneath a skylight that we could see the stars. They gave us numerous suggestions of things to do and places to go. I knew they owned a coffee shop so I inquired, and they have two shops (Floyd's Coffee), one of which we went to twice because the breakfast burrito is delicious and so is the coffee and chai lattes...The property is an oasis! A seriously amazing BEAUTIFUL and relaxing place to stay. They have put alot of love and care into their place and it shows. The neighborhood is just fantastic with so many cute homes and its very close to a main road that has a bunch of yummy restaurants and ice cream (salt and straw) and food trucks. It's also very quite in the neighbourhood they live and I loved just walking around. I truly never wanted to leave and I will most definitely go back. I miss it already. This was my first time in Portland and I think staying here reinforced my love of it. Thank you Jack and Cris! I will be seeing you again! Xo

    Jessica2016-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Exceptional find! It was perfect, safe, and beautiful! Will definitely go back again!!

    Bre2016-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • To start, I should say that we stayed here before the bathroom and kitchenette became a shared space with another rental on the property. Just as a personal preference, we would not have opted to stay here if it were set up as a communal bathroom, but maybe that's just us. That being said, this backyard oasis was pretty magical and like nothing else we had ever experienced. Such a special space! My wife was dying over what she called the "Hobbit Dutch Door" that is now on her homeowner's wishlist. The property was in a great neighborhood with plenty of parking where we were easily able to walk to brunch and back through the charming streets. We especially enjoyed the resident felines who were oh-so-sweet and loved a good tummy scritchin' (we're suckers for a kitty!) The one thing I will say, if you are a light-sensitive sleeper, a sleeping mask is a must. Due to the unique design of the Cob Cottage, there's a lot of bright light that comes in. This would not dissuade us from staying here again, but my wife was very glad she had remembered to pack hers.

    Scott2017-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • The Cob Cottage is completely beautiful, the bed is cozy, and the warm floors are lovely! Jack and Cris were very kind and welcoming. They create a beautiful space for all of their guests. Really great value... I highly recommend Jack and Cris's place to all travelers!

    Sofia2018-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our hosts had everything prepared for a lovely evening stay. The description and pictures matched perfectly. We enjoyed sitting out in the courtyard by the pond and fountain!

    Anni2016-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place with great private access to the cottage and facilities. Had a beautiful interior and exterior, surrounded by a water feature and lovely landscaping. Would for sure stay again.

    Theresa2017-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • Very cool space and the hosts are incredibly kind and accommodating. Walkable to nice neighborhood commercial area and an easy drive into the city.

This wonderful, private little gem is just a few easy walking blocks from plentiful drinking, dining, dispensing, yoga & coffee spots. You will be one block from Woodlawn Park, 2 blocks from a bus and a 5 minute drive from the Alberta Shopping and Arts District. It's all so comfortably close by, but not close enough to disturb your relaxing, sweet retreat. Come have it all while living small in this tiny, artsy home away from home!
This space was built as a Model T Garage in 1926 behind a 1915 bungalow but it has had a face lift and has taken on a new life as a cozy, warm freestanding studio made mostly from reclaimed materials. A "tiny house" if you will, sweetly positioned between fruit trees and a garden sitting area. The sleeping loft comfortably sleeps two and there is a futon below the loft where one can enjoy a book while the other naps above. Occasionally you will hear the trains in the distance which adds a touch of nostalgia and you get to wake to the relaxing clucking and cooing of the neighborhood hens as this area has a nice spattering of urban farms and lots of mature trees. For your comfort, this as a "pet dander free" space. No pets, thanks. The table pictured here has been replaced with a "garden shed" counter that houses a small, removable basin sink. There is also a rustic, rough hewn armoire to hang clothes and tuck away your backpacks. The little kitchenette corner is stocked with utensils, a two burner cooktop, a mini fridge, a microwave, coffee and a coffee press. The studio's setup is more akin to a cabin, and as many cabins go, there is no bathroom. You will be given a key to the main house so please feel comfortable enough to come in and use the facilities. By the way, it is insulated, well heated, and stocked with plenty of blankets so it is a wonderful, warm hideaway in the fall and winter months as well. Yep, snuggly wifi too. The yard is plentiful with flowers and fruit bearing trees (figs and delicious yellow plums) in the summertime, as well as an array of veggies in the gardens where you can sit amongst the trees and regroup after a hard day at Powells Books. It's within a 5 minute walk from the heart of Woodlawn which has some fantastic spots to shop, drink, dance, and dine: -Firehouse Restaurant, somewhat romantic with good service -Woodlawn Coffee House, for plenty of people watching -Breakside Brewery, to grab a bite and catch up on the game -Grand Army Tavern, have some pork with your...pork : ) -Good Neighbor Pizza, laid back & late night too -P's & Q's Market serves yummy meals and a few grocery items -The Village Ballroom, for Square Dance and Special events -Uptown Cycles, sales and repairs -Portland Girl, spa day anyone? -Greener Grasses, well-rated dispensary -Koken Market, for almost any beer you want, snacks -Café Eleven, art, coffee, lunch & some pastries -Oregon Public House, the nation's 1st nonprofit pub -The Highwater Mark, rock pub with pool & hip hop on last Fridays -Tamale Boy, authentic & delicious with lots of outside seating -Bassato Gelato, 12 rotating flavors+bagels in the morning -HighWheel Mead, open Thurs-Sunday -(Seasonally) Woodlawn Farmer's Market at Woodlawn Triangle, Sat. 10-2 Downtown is a 15 minute drive. The Alberta Arts District is also just minutes away so you can hop on a bike and be right in the middle of the jam-packed Last Thursday Art Walk or make a day of it with shopping, dinner and some delicious ice cream from the infamous Salt & Straw. Then come "home" to your quieter retreat where you can just relax and lay in the hammock.....ahhhh. And as the area is well surrounded by beautiful, mature trees, you may decide to enjoy dinner in the love seat swing under the pergola and watch the evening sky. It is a wonderful theatre for watching small bats do their sky routine in the distance. Flying in? This spot is only 10 minutes from the airport. And while in Portland, you may want some wheels! Well, this location is very close to Zipcars and you can sign up with them or Car2go on their sites in advance of your stay. Check out Turo or Getaround to grab a vehicle to tool But if you want to explore the city on two wheels, Everybody Bike Rentals or Ebikes ( electric bike rentals) are the spots to hit first (10 min. by bus). They provide helmets and locks too! ***If you don't see the dates available on the calendar that you had hoped for or if you are traveling with more than two people, please check out my other listing (#95313) which is also a private studio at the same location. It is larger and complete with a private entry and bathroom. Just ask me! Parking is close and the livin' is pretty easy. So please get that profile completed, then contact me and come kick up your heels and stay a while! Oh! P.S. Please read the description, house rules and post a pic of you in your profile beforehand just so that everyone is on the same page. Much appreciated. Cheers!
  • Cute place to stay, but could be better for price.

  • Cute place to stay! It’s not actually a tiny house... it’s an old garage converted into a place to stay. It’s cute and nice, but not actually a tiny house if that’s what you’re looking for! Otherwise, great!

  • Andrèe was amazing and extremely gracious and gave us AMAZING recommendations for things to do around town and even recommended places to go when we left and went to Seattle! The cottage was SO CUTE and perfect for what we were looking for! (Especially for the price!) it was a great location and only took us a couple minutes to drive to the max/Mississippi street/The lloyd center...etc... we would definitely recommend staying in this cottage and are hoping to again in the future! Thanks Andrèe!

  • Staying at Andrée's place was great! The Garden Studio was so cute and the bed was really comfortable. I also really enjoyed sitting in the backyard garden. Everything comes as described and advertised -- no surprises or set-backs. I didn't have a car while I was in Portland but I really didn't need one. The 8 bus picks you up two blocks away and goes directly into downtown. Or you can get off a couple stops early and be right on Alberta Street. There's also a really good market/deli around the corner where you can buy $2 beers :) And if for some reason that's closed, there are some other eateries/bars just a 10 minute walk from the house. It was really a pleasant stay and the host, Andrée, was very accommodating and welcoming.

    Chrissy2014-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Andrée was such a wonderful host. She was very clear in her communication with us, friendly, funny and professional. My wife and I loved our stay in the warm, cozy, and clean cabin style house. We didn't use any of the amenities that Andrée had ready for us in the cabin, as we only slept there, but there is a range stove, water in the mini fridge, and even ear plugs! She really thought of everything. We can't wait to come back and visit Portland again. Thank you, Andrée!

    Carmen2017-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about my experience at Andree's was seamless! Check-in and check-out was a breeze. Her place perfectly suited my needs, and the cozy studio was great to come back to and crash out in after a long day running around. Mamacita, her adorable little cat, said good morning and goodnight as I exited and entered the garden (which was lovely) so that I came to look forward to our encounters :) . Andree is just the sweetest host, attentive and considerate, and kind of a mind-reader when it comes to suggestions for her guests. I am forever indebted to her for reminding me to try out Salt and Straw, thank you! It was a pleasure to chat with her in passing, and highly recommend her place for anyone looking to relax and have fun when in Portland !

    Miette 2014-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • This space was great! We arrived a bit late and Andrée was kind enough to work with her and our schedule so we could meet up at a good time for the both of us. Super quiet area, easy access to the house and a great host. Andrée was super helpful and gave us a ton of honest advice for the city. We couldn't hit it all, but everything we tried that she recommended was awesome! And listen to her about Voodoo Donuts!!! I will look forward to her future renovations of the space and also coming back to stay here!

With lots of space and light, this studio has everything that makes a house feel like a home: a fireplace, a full kitchen, a queen bed, oak floors, handmade furniture, cable tv including HBO, and a private entrance.
This studio is a welcoming space in the center of an historic neighborhood that offers a unique perspective on the city of Portland. Ask me for in-depth info on where to go and what to see in the Irvington neighborhood, the Alberta Arts District, and other parts of Northeast Portland! Over the years, I’ve gotten to know quite a few incredible places to eat, drink, shop, and explore here. Located at the hub of some of Portland’s most interesting neighborhoods, this studio places the whole city at your fingertips. But adventure can be tiring, and the studio offers ample opportunity to put your feet up. Portland can get nippy at night, and a real wood fireplace, stocked with firewood from locally harvested and dried urban hardwood trees, is the perfect way to warm up and feel at home. The apartment has high ceilings and a great fireplace; it’s minimally decorated but has all the important things: a queen bed, a couch with a coffee table, a small desk, a dresser and extra shelves, and a kitchen table. The kitchen comes fully stocked with the essentials for cooking a real meal, and the bathroom always has towels, soap and shampoo. The space is located on the first floor of a large 1910 home, which was converted to an eight-plex in the 1940s to adapt to the demands of WWII. I have lived in Irvington for 14 years and Portland for 25, and this house is one of the most unique that I’ve seen.
The Irvington neighborhood, now only a ten minute bike ride from downtown, was once a trolley-car suburb to the just-fully-developed West side. Designated a historic district by the National Register of Historic Places in 2010, Irvington is filled with early 20th century homes that have been preserved in their original states. Irvington has become a livable hub of Northeast Portland as a whole, with shops and restaurants of all kinds, within walking distance, surrounding the neighborhood. Irvington proper boasts more than a few community and culinary destinations of its own.
  • La casa es muy bonita y limpia. Todo funciona: chimenea, agua caliente, estufa... Todo. El barrio es hermoso. Parece de un cuento. El acceso al centro de la ciudad es fácil y más o menos rápido.

    Pixel2016-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here while attending a conference at the Convention Center, and it was great for work travel. Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, it was easy to get to the conference, grocery store, and food options whether I was walking, driving, or taking mass transit. Hannah was also fantastic when I asked to drop my bags off early due to a work meeting, and had the place ready earlier than expected. I would definitely stay here again!

    Anastasia2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice place to stay, clean, quiet and comfortable in a nice neighborhood.

    Yosh2016-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Jason and Hannah were extremely responsive to questions and concerns and were very kind and accommodating. The apartment is spacious and comfortable with everything needed for a short or long stay. The bed is super comfy and the room is full of lovely natural light from the many windows. Everything was clean, tidy and convenient. The Irvington neighborhood is quiet and full of stunning period homes but is walking distance from vibrant Broadway with great eats and shopping. Pub transit is close by, so you can enjoy the sights of Portland and return to a cozy, peaceful retreat. Would come back in a heartbeat!

    Anna2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first stay in Portland and Jason's home was a great experience to the city. Jason was there to welcome me with his little dog. The studio is great for a short or long term stay with the kitchen and full private bath. Location is in a very cool neighborhood with streets lined with beautiful trees, cools houses, and is very peaceful. Its an easy to walk/bike to anything you need and bar/coffee shop is just 1 block away. Thanks for the hospitality and a great experience!

    Tyler2015-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely neighborhood, expansive apartment. Best in warmer months, unless owners deal with air intrusion issues.

    Jackson2016-06-30T00:00:00Z

Laurelhurst is an historic old Portland neighborhood with beautiful homes, street trees and a huge park a few blocks away designed by the Olmsted's who designed Central Park in NYC. You will see how homes in Laurelhurst are each very different and unique from craftsmen with large porches to smaller bungalows with beautiful gardens.
  • Bob and Sue were welcoming hosts. Their English Cottage "Apartment" near Laurelhurst Park is in the basement of a 1923 brick historic gem, surrounded by well-kept gardens including a 100 year old oak; it proved a gem for us while visiting our son. A short walk through Laurelhurst and we were at our son's. The apt. is "decked out" in 40's Fiesta dinnerware and luxurious linens. All necessary conveniences at hand, vintage GE fridge, local travel brochures, maps, even a washer and dryer plus a popcorn popper! Sue and Bob offered their yard and barbecue in their absence. Our 9- day stay could not have been more comfortable!

    Alan2016-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is a perfect house for 2 people to stay in while in Portland. It's located about a 10 minute drive from Division street which is where a lot of the fun places to go is located. We found it quite easy to find. It's very relaxing and Bob and Sue provide you with everything you need to be comfortable. There is a binder placed on the table that gives great information, the greatest was the recommendation for the screen door. Wonderful food! The communication with Bob and Sue was wonderful. I spoke with them at length months before our visit to talk about things to go and places to see and they were full of wonderful suggestions. Thank you!

  • This was an absolutely beautiful place to stay! This was our first Airbnb experience and I couldn't have possibly asked for anything better. The place was picturesque, and the bed was so wonderful I almost never wanted to leave. The kitchen was adorable, the back patio fantastic, and we had a lovely local bottle of red wine to welcome us. We met Bob & Sue briefly, but it was an absolute pleasure. They also had this incredibly sweet white kitty who would stroll through the garden occasionally. The location was fantastic, and the bedroom had a bounty of maps, helpful tips, Portland magazines and brochures aplenty. Laurelhurst was absolutely wonderful, and this was a fantastic trip. I only wish we could have stayed longer!!!

    Izzy2016-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Bob and Sue were very welcoming and made us feel at home. The apartment was charming and very comfortable. The setup afforded us a great deal of privacy but also allowing us to interact with our hosts. The neighborhood is very beautiful with great walking and things to explore. It is also very well served by bus lines which allowed easy access to downtown Portland. Closer by are several good restaurants, movie theaters, and shopping.

Everything you need is here at our brand new guesthouse loft: a luxurious, lofted queen bedroom; high ceilings with floods of natural light, a modern kitchen, full bath with heated tile, comfy sleeper sofa for extra guests, and Stumptown Coffee with organic cream. The loft rests at the back of the property, one block from bustling Division St, and short blocks from restaurants, coffeeshops, & the Woodsman Tavern, named “One of America’s Best Bars,” by Esquire Magazine.
The loft is located in our backyard in Southeast Portland. While we are only steps away if you need us, the space is very private. In fact, guests report that they forget they are in the middle of the city when they stay in our space! We live in a desirable and fun neighborhood, and parking can be tight! Guests usually find parking within a block of our house. At night or during busy times of the day, parking can be found within two short blocks. Guests may feel free to use our driveway for loading/unloading. We do not have a TV in the guesthouse, but offer excellent wifi access.
Our neighborhood has everything you will need, mostly within a five-minute walk! And if you want to visit a different part of the city, there is convenient public transportation around the corner. Check out excellent coffeeshops blocks away (Good Coffee and Stumptown), delicious and intimate restaurants (Bete Lukas, Mi Mero Mole, The Woodsman), or walk up to Mt. Tabor Park. If you're into yoga, there's an awesome space (Yoga Union) around the corner.
  • Great aesthetic place

  • An absolutely lovely place to stay. We just smiled when we arrived after a long day of travel with 4 year old in tow.....Stumptown coffee and fresh cream in the 'fridge! Laurel and Brian know what's up! Super comfortable and private, they've thought of everything, including heated bathroom floors. Laurel was in communication, but we wanted for nothing, everything was so clear and easy. Definitely recommend!

    Kristina2017-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Laurel and Brian's place was the perfect retreat for us while visiting our son and daughter-in-law nearby. The cottage is bright and charming, with a very comfortable bed in the loft. Our visit coincided with a record snowfall, and it was so lovely to lie in bed, looking out the windows at the snow-laden trees. Laurel was up early, shoveling a path from our door to the street. She and her husband were excellent hosts. Having a kitchen and laundry in the unit was terrific. We took advantage of the recommended restaurants just blocks away for some delicious take-out. We hope this will be first of many stays. Great place!

  • This spot is fantastic - location, space, and hosts. Love the details in the space - high ceilings, great light, pocket door, wide wood beams, heated bathroom floors - the space is thoughtfully curated and so clean! Parking isn't super easy but really only because there are so many things in the neighborhood, so can't complain too much. Thanks for a great visit Laurel + Brian!

    Kim2018-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • A bright and cozy space to unwind while visiting Portland. Very usable kitchen living room.

    Lesley2018-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Laurel and Brian's guest house was fantastic! I stayed there for a long weekend with two other friends and it was the perfect size. It fit us comfortably and it was super clean. It was also in a great location, right off of SE Division street which gave us access to great restaurants and bars. I would highly recommend staying here when traveling to Portland.

    Brittany2016-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • I absolutely loved my stay at Laurel and Brian's studio Its in such a hip and emerging neighborhood, and the amenities were perfect. The kitchen had everything we needed for ocassional meals although the location was also really great being walking-distance to good restaurants and bars for those times when we weren't in the mood to cook for ourselves. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. This was the best airbnb I have ever experienced. The accommodations were the perfect setting to the perfect vacation. It was so magical!!!! Many thanks Laurel & Brian.

    Chris2017-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Loved Brian and Laurel's place! Convenient to all of Portland with plenty of great things within walking distance.

Where Bali meets Portland. Come relax in this newly, beautifully designed, private mixed use accommodation. Just five short blocks from Portland's hip N Williams district. A rooftop deck.
I have a total of five rooms, each listed separately in this unique mixed-use building where I also live and work. You will enter just past the Ned Ludd front patio via a private, secure, gated entrance off of MLK at NE Failing street and follow the stairway up to the second level. This is the larger of the three rooms. Each room is newly refurbished and furnished with beautiful, responsibly sourced tropical salvage out of Indonesia and locally re-purposed wood/trim doors and windows. Your private room comes with a window, a wall-mounted flatscreen t.v., small refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, free wi-fi an armoire, an ornate sink carved out of stone, down pillows, down comforters, a king-sized posturepedic mattress and zen colored walls that might just make you think you are in... Bali?
NEPO (aka NE Portland) is hip and cool and like so many hip Portland neighborhoods–it is ever-expanding and reinventing itself. New restaurants, shops, boutiques and businesses are popping up all over. Whether you are looking for a place to lay your head for the night while you get out and explore during the day, or you are just looking for a place you can hole up and relax, we've got you covered. The options and amenities you will find here in your little oasis in NEPO are plentiful.
  • Beautiful space, great location, nice and spacious!

    Ryan2018-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great space, the bedroom looks exactly as the photos. The bed is cozy and nice towels. The room is right next to a great cafe with homemade baked goods called Bushel and Peck and dinner at Ned Ludd is a must. You can walk to Alberta St, North Williams and Mississippi within 20 mins or less where there are great neighborhood restaurants, yoga and coffee shops.

  • First trip to Portland with my boyfriend and first time using Airbnb. It was perfect. I would 100% stay in this Airbnb again. The room and building looked exactly like the photos, and the outdoor deck was so awesome! The bed was insanely comfortable, to the point of rethinking our plans and just staying inside all day. The owner was very nice and helpful our entire stay. Absolutely recommend this rental 100x over. Thanks for the great stay! We will definitely be back soon!

    Morgan Olivia2016-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • The place is in a very cool area of Portland. There are other rooms available through the same host. Keep in mind that you will be sharing showers and toilets with the other rooms as well. During my stay I only saw another guest once so it is very private in that sense. Would recommend to others.

    Joel2017-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • Creative little place. Really comfy beds

    Kara2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Timothy was such a great host. My wife and I loved the room and it was exactly what we were looking for. It’s close to a lot of great bars and restaurants and centralized to the entire city. The bed may have been the most comfortable bed I’ve ever laid on! Definitely going to try to stay here next time we’re in town.

    David2018-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • As this was our first airbnb experience, we were not entirely sure what to expect; however, we were very impressed! The room was exactly as described and depicted. The bed was amazingly comfortable too! The location in NEPO is great since it's close to so many great dining options. We would definitely like to visit again.

Relaxed + modern one bedroom basement apt. Bright + spacious with a handmade Portland touch. Comfortable for two, it's a great home-base for the traveler wanting to explore PDX! Located in charming Woodlawn neighborhood. Near the park, bars and bus lines.
Handmade by us! We're a craftsman and an interior designer who are not afraid to get our hands dirty. Stay in this remodeled basement where every detail was thought, planned and carefully constructed. We value high-end, conscious design. Our motto is maintain, reclaim and sustain. All of the exposed wood was salvaged from this 100 year old home! We love our house and hope that you do too. It's a great, peaceful place to crash at the end of the day. A plush queen sized bed, a huge doorless walk-in bathroom (ie. divided by a wall), glass walk-in shower and a tiny but efficient kitchen were top priorities when we made this place. The kitchen has dishwasher/fridge/oven stocked with all the pots/pans and plates to make a nice meal at home. Its always a shifting art-installation, so don't be surprised if the art in the listing photos change. We like to collect art and objects during our travels.
We're one block from 2 major bus lines (the 8 goes to downtown) and our neighborhood market, P's & Q's. 3 blocks from Woodlawn park + 5 blocks to our neighborhood hub: breweries, dance hall, coffee shop and restaurants. Woodlawn is a great area and closely located to Alberta Arts District, Mississippi and Kenton.
  • Clean and comfortable Cool, even on a hot day! Gelato just a few blocks down street was fantastico!

  • Jeremy and Anna's place was perfect in every way! Clean, private and in a great location!!

    Dawnta2017-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Anna & Jeremy's place was outstanding. Perfect modern studio, beautifully designed and decorated. Great location, in a peaceful and safe neighborhood. Within walking distance of great restaurants and conveniently located to the airport. Very private, we had our own key and separate entrance. The bed was so comfortable, the linens and towels were great quality. We appreciated the toiletries provided, there was even a blow dryer and straightener! The coffee was so yummy!! Anna was a gracious hostess, very welcoming and friendly. She shared information with us about Portland and answered our questions, saving us from getting stuck in rush hour traffic! We would most definitely stay here again. This is a great spot for exploring the Portland area.

    Jade2016-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome studio space - comfortable, walkable to chill brewpubs, coffee + pastries. Anna met us when we arrived and was incredibly warm and walked us through all of the know-hows of the space. We hope to return soon!

    Christy2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Totally captures the cool chic of Portland!

    Jacqueline2017-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was pristine, spacious, and really comfortable. It made us want to stay there for longer than one night. Anna was really nice and gave us a ton of great advice of things to see, do and eat. I cannot think of anything that could have been improved.

    Santiago2016-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is even better than pictured. Beautifully designed and appointed with everything you need. The hosts are very easy to contact and helpful. The neighbourhood is lovely also. You need to use public transport/car/bike to get to downtown but the area itself has places to eat and drink. Highly recommend.

    Kim2014-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • This place was the most beautiful place that we slept in since the beggining of our trip. The tips that Anna gave to us were very useful and we went to amazing restaurants! We didn't want to leave Portland so soon, hope we will come back one day...

  • Anastasia’s place was awesome- perfect location for going out to 23rd’s restaurants and stores. The room was exactly as listed, super clean, comfortable bed, and Anastasia was great with communication. I’d definitely stay again next time I visit Portland!

    Kyle2018-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • Anastasia is the ideal AirBnB host. Her communication with my daughter and I prior to our arrival was great. She even accommodated our early arrival and let us store our bags before check-in. The studio is well equipped and ideally located, only a few blocks from the heart of Portland's best shops and restaurants. I definitely recommend Anastasia's studio and plan to return in the future.

    Melinda2016-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Fairly spacious end unit apartment in space above some storefronts. Comfortable bed and residential location. Free parking. Loved the little treat upon check-in. A little noise early evening due to the business next door but it was brief and not during our sleep. Would stay again. Five stars all around. A short 1 mike walk to meet up with my brother in the city on 9th.

    Trisha2018-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • This location was fantastic. It’s super close to everything and extremely walkable. Anastasia was a very kind and generous host. Would stay here again and again!

    Jenna2018-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • 100% recommended - this place was amazing, we had the best experience ever, the home is so lovely the host is very helpful with everything and prepared everything for us, the location is near Barista coffee roaster , blue star donuts and Salt &straw! Had nothing to complain about :)

    Josie2017-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • 100% the best Airbnb option we could have asked for in Portland! The hosts were very nice and communicative and the place is immaculately kept. Great stay and would recommend for anyone visiting !

    Jennifer2016-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • Anastasia was an incredible host who shared many local tips with us. We ate at two restaurants per her recommendation! The apartment is located in the heart of the Alphabet District in a very safe and trendy neighborhood. I highly recommend this Airbnb!

    Elizabeth2018-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Anastasia’s place was perfect for my boyfriend and I while traveling. We found the neighborhood to be extremely walkable with tons of restaurants and shops. For anything that was a little bit farther, we had no problem getting there from her place. The studio apartment was immaculate and Anastasia is clearly very thoughtful and accommodating. Our flight schedule had changed and Anastasia let us drop off our (many) bags before check in which saved us for the day! I highly recommend staying here. She’s a great communicator with a lovely space.

Newly constructed in 2016, our private detached garden studio sits in the heart of a quiet residential neighborhood and is a short stroll to top restaurants, food carts, and shopping in hip SE Portland. The space is compact -- about 240sf -- but cozy, bright and a great place to unwind after a day of exploring Portland!
Our cozy studio includes a comfy queen bed, vaulted ceilings, full bathroom, kitchenette, and small sitting area. It's fully detached from the main house, so offers complete privacy. Skylights, french doors, and floor-to-ceiling glass windows provide an abundance of natural light, even on a grey, drizzly Portland day, as well as views of the west hills. It's small --about 240sf-- but the space is well utilized with many amenities such as wireless Bluetooth speaker, Portland maps and guides, and comfy pillows and blankets to make it feel like home. The space is best suited for guests seeking a cozy place to relax and recharge after a day of exploring Portland; If you're needing more of a "hangout spot," this may not be the best fit. The studio has a full bathroom with shower (no tub). The kitchenette includes a mini fridge, sink, instant hot water, coffee maker, coffee press, microwave and everything you need for reheating leftovers from the many restaurants and food carts nearby. Complementary tea and coffee are provided along with a long list of restaurant recommendations. There’s a growler available for filling, which you can do at The Imperial Bottle Shop on Division Street and at many local breweries and grocery stores nearby.
We love living in the heart of the Richmond neighborhood! Nestled on a quiet, residential street, we're a short stroll (about 1/3mi) to hip and eclectic restaurant and retail districts of SE Portland. A 4-block walk brings you to a bus stop that can get you most anywhere else in town. A short walk from the studio brings you to food, shopping and entertainment (to name a few of our favorites): PokPok, Salt & Straw, Ava Gene's, Bollywood Theater; Food Cart pods, Little T Bakery, St Honore; A myriad of boutiques, shops and independent movie theaters on Hawthorne, Clinton and Division streets. You'll likely meet some friendly neighborhood cats during your stay, but due to severe allergies, our studio is pet- and allergen-free. You may also spot our eyepatch-wearing, kung fu-performing neighbor (and good friend) practicing in the street, sometimes alongside his 4yo daughter. He’s a world-renowned martial artist and teacher, is super friendly and adds some true Portland character to our otherwise sleepy neighborhood.
  • Great place and location!! The studio is a little too small for two people (not made to just hang out there), but we enjoyed exploring Portland and being able to walk most places. Melissa's recommendations were very helpful and made choosing places to go super easy!

    Alex2017-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • As advertised. Great place and highly recommend it. Will stay there again my next time in town.

    Filip2017-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Melissa's studio for two nights while we visited Portland for the first time. Melissa and Bryan were great and their little studio was just as perfect and beautiful as in the photos. The place was super tidy and clean and in it's own privacy. Melissa and Bryan were very friendly and gave us plenty of good tips about the restaurants in the area. The area was beautiful with nice restaurants near by and with a very safe atmosphere. We walked a lot. The check in and check out were easy and flexible, Melissa was quick to reply weather we had any questions, and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

    Noora2016-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • The detached unit was beautiful and clean. The hosts were great and had a number of suggestions for food and drinks nearby. Highly recommend this Airbnb!

  • Melissa's place was absolutely perfect. It is such a lovely space - the pictures don't do it justice! Melissa was wonderful to communicate with and very helpful with providing information about the area. The studio was super clean and had everything we needed. This was the loveliest Airbnb we have stayed in! Highly recommended!

    Luke2017-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • The studio is as beautiful as it looks in photos. We only stayed one night, but wished we could have stayed longer. Walking distance to great restaurants and a quick Uber or Lyft downtown. Melissa clearly puts a lot of thought into the space and the comfort of guests - the kitchen and bathroom were stocked with everything you could need plus more. Highly recommend!

    Christine2017-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem this place is! We were looking for a tiny home kind of feel and this was it. Even though it was a small space, the way Melissa designed and decorated the space made it seem very spacious. The best part about this studio is how light-filled the space is. The space was very cozy, decorated with a sophisticated and welcoming sense of minimalism. Communication with Melissa was fast and extremely helpful. I texted her for tips on where to eat or visit and she provided insight only a local could. Everything was walkable, lots of cute for trucks, restaurants, and shops. She spared no details and put thought into everything. Just book the place! I have zero regrets and wish I could live here forever!

    Jacqueline2017-04-11T00:00:00Z

A quiet, cozy bedroom & bathroom on the ground floor of a beautiful, modern new home in a verdant, friendly Southeast Portland neighborhood. Enthusiastic greeting by very friendly dogs & cat comes standard!
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE LISTING BEFORE REQUESTING ACCOMMODATION. As a courtesy to our guests, our check-in time is 2:00 pm; however, as we both work weekdays, we cannot have the rooms ready until 5:30 or so. What this means is that our guests are welcome to make themselves at home in their living room or just drop their bags off and head out exploring, but they won't be able to rest their weary heads or hit the showers until we've had a chance to get home and tidy up. (PLEASE NOTE: This listing highlights the primary guest bedroom available, but for parties of 3 or 4 people, we do have a secondary bedroom that also features a queen-sized bed. If you are making a reservation for two people and you wish to book both bedrooms, PLEASE EXPLICITLY TELL US SO, as the default for two guests is ONE bedroom; for a two-guest reservation, the cost will be the listed room rate + $30/night. All guests share the same bathroom.) There is almost an entire floor available in our newish home smack-dab in the heart of fun, accessible Southeast Portland! This means that our guest(s) get not only their own quiet bedroom, but also a private full bathroom AND their own nicely-appointed living room (please note: the first-floor living room is NOT private, as it does not have a ceiling and is the way between the front door of the house and the stairs to the second floor). We are steps away from a frequent-service bus line, a terrific sandwich shop that's open for breakfast, lunch AND dinner, a pizza joint, a Starbucks, and, best of all, a Trader Joe's! The house is about two miles south of the trendy Hawthorne district, one mile south of nationally-recognized Division Street, and about four miles east of downtown Portland. The house itself is a beautiful, soaring Doug Fir- and hemlock-constructed dream home decorated with one-of-kind glass art pieces and potted succulents. Our guests have access to our fabulous kitchen in addition to their own first-floor amenities. We have a very friendly housecat you will likely meet during your stay, but the guest bedroom and guest bathroom doors are kept closed for the comfort of allergen-sensitive guests. We also have two friendly dogs who will greet you eagerly upon your arrival, but who otherwise spend their time hanging out with us and don't wander much to the guest floor. Lastly, to our guests during the colder months: the guest floor tends to be the coolest in the house, and we provide space heaters and afghans for your comfort, but we figure we should let you know ahead of time that if you run cold, ours may not be the ideal place for your stay.
Our neighborhood is so great! We are really close to several cool Portland hubs, but we're on a relatively quiet residential street so we truly have the best of all worlds.
  • Brad and Becca have a very nice home and were there to welcome us despite our late evening arrival. Thank you again for a great stay!

    Howard2013-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • The experience was great! Such a cool set up and the house was super close to public transit. The cat was probably my favorite thing, such a cuddle bug. You guys were super friendly thanks!

    Angel2016-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Brad and Becca were great. Although I did not get a chance to meet them based on our schedules, they were very helpful with getting in and out. The place was gorgeous inside, very clean, and in a perfectly located neighborhood which is 20 minutes from PDX and several food options around.

    Matt2015-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place. I got my own floor! room, bathroom and living space. Bed has a memory foam top! Brad is the most chill guy you will meet. I would rather stay there again then any hotel.

  • Beautiful space... wonderful hosts. This was the best AirBNB we've stayed at so far. Would definitely come back!

  • We took the train and brought our bikes from Vancouver, Canada for 5 nights and had a fabulous time. A well needed break for my wife and I. Brad and Becca were very nice and Diego -- the cat -- broke my heart but I'm slowly getting over missing him. Close to Division and Hawthorne with lots of great shops… try Pok Pok's on Division for Thai cuisine. Blue Star Donuts…. very yummy AND Salt and Straw ice cream. Brad's home made map of Portland is recommended. Weekend market downtown is a must. Thanks Becca and Brad!

    Wayne2015-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • My fiancé and I had a great stay at Brad and Becca's. They were great hosts. We were able to bring our dog which made things much easier. We hope to stay there again when we go back to Portland in the future.

Seen on the TV show "Tiny House Nation", CNN, Food & Wine Magazine, and the NY Post, the 350 sq ft Rustic Modern Tiny House was designed and built by us, your friendly AirBNB hosts. Guests call it "completely charming" and "the perfect urban getaway". Welcome! M+J
For years we've been daydreaming about building a little house one day. Then we finally made it happen - using our own two hands (DIY! The Portland way!) and with the help of some great friends. We had a vision in mind, but a lot of the details came together as we built, based on what materials we had available to us. Downstairs is the kitchen, living room with convertible couch, and bathroom with tiny clawfoot tub. Access the upstairs via STAIRS (not a ladder), where you'll find our loft bedroom with comfortable queen sized bed. Sustainable design is important to us, and the house is constructed and furnished from an eclectic array of reclaimed materials - squirreled away over the years, and now creatively reused and repurposed. See photo captions for a detailed walkthrough of the house. A PARTIAL SNAPSHOT • The trim and shelves are reclaimed from an old shed that used to be on the property. • Teak hardwood flooring, cedar shake siding - salvaged from high-end construction jobs. • The wood-clad windows salvaged from a horse farm in the Oregon countryside. • The kitchenette stove/refrigerator sourced from the Hood River History Museum. Instagram: @rusticmoderntiny
We love our walk/bike friendly N. Williams Ave neighborhood - it's been getting a lot of media attention as one of Portland's hottest neighborhoods. You are one block from the main corridor, bustling with award-winning restaurants, bars, coffee shops, wine bars, bakeries, yoga studios, and indie boutiques - it seems there's something new every week. Sunset Magazine loves its “low-key urban vibe", past guests call our neighborhood "awesome", "amazing" and "full of things to do". Our street has even made an appearance or two on the TV show Portlandia.
  • Such a great experience! A beautiful home with such great detail. The tiny house was a perfect amout of space for 2-3 people. Bed was comfy as well! Perfect neighborhood with great restaurants, bars, shops. Everything we needed for an awesome weekend in portland!

    Giuliana2016-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay in Portland. Michael and Jenna checked in with us during our stay, even though it was a short stay. The area around the house had great restaurants and bars. The house had everything we needed, and was a cute and unique place to stay during our weekend in Portland!

    Kelly2016-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny house was a unique little spot for a weekend in Portland. Things we loved: 1. The neighborhood! Walking distance to all the essentials - good lunch spot (Lardo was extra yummy), organic grocery store, coffee lounge and cocktail spot. 2. The character of the place. The design and charm made it truly one of a kind. 3. The availability of bikes and outside patio. Like Jenny and Michael describe, the place is called the tiny house for a reason. There is certain functionality that is lost due to the size. I would recommend a weekend but no longer. Thanks for a unique portland experience Michael and Jenny!

    Adam&Jax2014-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great time staying at the Tiny House with a couple of friends. Such a quirky little place and very well situated for local shops and cafes on N Williams Ave with N Alberta St and the centre only a short ride away. We loved exploring the city by bike which Michael and Jenny kindly arranged for us. We would definitely recommend to friends heading to Portland. Thanks!

  • It was very cool to stay in a tiny house- although this one was big enough to comfortably accommodate 2 people. Even though it's in a quiet, residential spot, it's about a block away from a fun street with good restaurants and boutiques. Michael and Jenna are easily reachable and even let us add a night to our trip at the last minute! We loved staying here.

  • The tiny house is amazing!! If you like quiet, very clean, and wonderful decor, you should stay here. This is the coolest house I have stayed in awhile. The hosts were easy and polite. This house gives you enough privacy that you actually feel like you are in the country yet it is walking distance to a very hip neighborhood with coffee and eclectic stores. kendra

  • The tiny house was great! It was in a fun neighborhood with lots of shops and restaurants around. We really enjoyed our stay.

  • Our first airbnb experience and we loved the rustic modern tiny house! It looks EXACTLY like the pictures...impeccable design and thought has gone into this place. Every little detail is gorgeous. I had a few questions for Michael and he was always super fast in responding to my texts, which we appreciated. We slept well in the comfy lofted bed area with the softest sheets in the world. The bikes are hilarious and fun to tool around in. We had many people compliment us on the cruisers (so retro even the Alberta hipsters were kind of in awe), and it was so fun and easy to go up to Mississippi and Alberta to check out all the new places (Barista, Salt and Straw, Back to Eden were some of our favs!). Mike and Jenny have a great guide of places to check out if you aren't familiar with Portland as well! Only thing is the major construction happening around the corner (looks like a new house is being built from the ground up), which obviously is beyond the control of anyone...I guess more the price of staying in an evolving neighborhood. Every morning but Sunday be prepared for heavy machinery, trucks beeping, and a few window shaking thuds from 7am on. You'll want to get up and explore anyway, but just FYI...

This space will make you feel cozy and right at home! A bright and well appointed tiny house located in Northeast Portland. Just steps from some of the best restaurants in all of Portland. The Alberta Arts district is just a few blocks away with cafes, pubs and local shopping. There are unique neighborhood amenities, such as the soaking pool and movie theater at the Kennedy School. For more photos and neighborhood info, visit: @portlandtinyhouse on Instagram.
We put a lot of love into Portland Tiny House. The space includes warm wood flooring, ceramic tiling, modern decor and special vintage touches. The house has a very comfortable Tuft and Needle queen sized bed, bathroom, kitchenette equipped for cooking light meals and cozy counter seating for two. Coffee, tea, fresh eggs and Portland travel guides provided. Need anything else?...just let us know! (2 guests with a small child may sometimes be accommodated)
Guests are a block away from Portland's most popular and notable restaurants: DOC, Beast, Autentica, Dame, Expatriate, Wilder and Yakuza Lounge. The house is within walking distance to the local New Seasons Market and the Alberta Arts District with shops/restaurants/art galleries and the hugely popular Last Thursday monthly arts festival. You certainly won't want to miss all of the wonderful shops and restaurants up on Alberta Street. There are many popular restaurants that often have a line to get in (yes...they are THAT good!) like Pine State Biscuits, Salt and Straw Ice Cream, The Grilled Cheese Grill and the Bollywood Theater. Lots of vegan dining as well: Vita Cafe, Back to Eden Bakery and the Bye and Bye Pub. So many wonderful options, we usually have a hard time deciding what to pick! Just around the corner: Walk a block up to enjoy hand-crafted morning coffee at Extracto or breakfast at Cup & Saucer. Drop in to take a yoga class at The People's Yoga studio. Hunt for fun vintage finds at Red Fox Vintage. Or you can explore the McMenamins Kennedy School: a historic elementary school re-purposed as a hotel (including a movie theater, soaking pool ($5 for a relaxing soak), restaurants and pubs). There are two parks within walking distance from the tiny house, Alberta Park and Fernhill Park. Peninsula Park is also a quick jaunt from the tiny house and it boasts a beautiful, seasonal rose garden that is often less crowded than the well known International Rose Test Garden in the West hills.
  • This was the perfect place for us to stay for our five days in Portland! When we walked in there were fresh flowers set out with a little packet of where to find things in the house, what was in the neighborhood, and local recommendations. This instantly made us feel welcome. They provided basic toiletries (shampoo, body wash, blow dryer, towels, and extra TP) which was really nice because we didn't have to lug that stuff in our suitcases. The space was BEAUTIFUL and so clean. I couldn't stop taking pictures. It is even cuter in person too! My boyfriend and I were really impressed with the decor. We actually want to steal a few style ideas. You can tell that a lot of thought and love was put into making this space not only comfortable and modern but functional. There are beautiful weavings hanging on the walls (done by a local artist I believe), cute rugs and throw pillows. Everything was just so cohesive and aesthetically pleasing. The neighborhood was gorgeous, quiet, clean, and homey. We felt safe the entire time (which is important when you're exploring a new city). We walked down the alley to an amazing area of shops. We had coffee at a great little coffee shop, did some thrifting, and had dinner at a cute little Mexican food restaurant. One night we even walked down the street a few blocks to Kennedy school. This area was perfect for our trip, we found that it didn't take very long to get anywhere we wanted to go. One of our favorite things about the tiny house was the chicken coop. Such a nice, Portland touch! (and YUM!) We briefly met Duston and Genevieve and they are so kind and so welcoming. I even corresponded through (Hidden by Airbnb) quite a bit with Genevieve about local spots to check out which was really helpful. Duston was working on the chicken coop one afternoon and he was actually installing windows for the kids in the neighborhood, so they can look in and see the chickens. That really touched our hearts and told us a lot about our hosts. We would stay here a thousand times over. I can't say enough good things about Duston & Genevieve and their beautiful tiny home.

  • The tiny house was small, clean, and quiet. It was close to a lot of great restaurants and shops. We would definitely stay there again.

  • From the fresh apple from the backyard tree to the gentle lowing of the hens, the tiny house was perfect, exactly as described on airbnb. The neighborhood was appealing with restaurants and grocery store an easy walk away. We enjoyed dinner at a neighborhood restaurant, DAME. The tiny house was impeccable, complemented by the backyard foliage.

  • The tiny house was a gem! We loved D & G's attention to every detail. Almost like a little curated installation. The location was so fun. We were lucky enough that our stay overlapped with their block party which was so fun to see! Great neighborhood and growing community and easily accessible to more. The bed was super cozy and all the amenities in the house were perfectly chosen. Bummed we didn't get a chance to enjoy eggs from the coupe, but next time!

  • What a lovely little place! Small, very cute and had all the amenities I needed to make my stay super comfortable. It was perfect for my relaxation holiday. Central to many interesting places by foot and people in the area are very friendly and helpful. I will miss Portland and this tiny house. Thank you Genevieve & Duston! P.s. Chickens were gorgeous.

  • Truly a wonderful spot! Not only clean and comfortable! But the location is perfect. One very short block to great coffee And restaurants. I rented a car and how no problem finding parking! Just a very sweet spot!

  • Paul's spacious 2nd floor was a great place to stay. Close to multiple parks and an quick drive to airport and downtown.

    Justin2017-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Paul is an awesome host! You will never get this kind of service at a hotel. His advice Made this a great vacation. We only wished we would have brought the kids. The location is close to everything. It is clean and quite comfortable. You will love Portland.

  • Great space! Everything was clean and the room was quiet. I loved the decor and the vast array of magazines pertaining to Portland. Would definitely recommend.

  • We loved our stay at the Funky Pad! Paul is a great host! He not only picked us up at the airport and took us to our rent a car place but he also suggested many places to eat and visit in Portland. He is very accommodating! The space is amazing! It is a home away from home! We will definitely choose to stay at the FunkyPad over a hotel next time we visit Portland! :)

    Jen2013-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Really awesome place to stay in Portland! Loved the location of Funky Pad as well as the place itself! Super easy to get on the freeway from here. Paul was really chill and very friendly. The apartment was very clean and spacious. I would definitely stay here again when I come back to Portland. Thanks for an awesome stay!

    Alice2014-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Paul was a great host, the place is very clean and has everything you need. The location is off a main street, easy to get around town, but you could hear some road noise, it didn't bother me though. Beds are on the softer side, there isn't a kitchen, but everything to make a hot drinks, fridge and microwave. Bathroom is stocked as well, hair dryer FTW! Check in and check out was easy, and for such in-expensive, and clean place to stay in Portland, it is a really good deal.

    Alice2014-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • It was lovely.Paul was a perfect host, personable but not invasive. The suite is nicer than the pics show. Only drawback is the busy street, but that didn't bother us. We had to come in late, but no problem at all.

Cute little Tiny House! It used to be our boys' fort when they were young, now it is a comfortable little retreat for adventurers exploring Portland!
Cute little back yard "granny flat" cottage located near Mt Tabor park in very desirable neighborhood! The cottage is "Portland Style" construction with excellent insulation (R30), new windows, etc.. Great host, free internet, parking, furnished living space that is quite private.. The cottage contains an upstairs bedroom & sitting area. Note: There are steep stairs, so please take that into account ~ if you have joint pain, etc. this might not be the best choice of places to stay... The QUEEN size mattress is new and comfortable. Downstairs there is a small kitchen with stove, microwave and under the counter fridge. Also downstairs is a full bath with ceramic tile shower. Coffee maker and freshly ground coffee provided in the cottage as well as complimentary muffins. At times a made to order hot breakfast is available, message me to see if it will be available during your stay :-D. Guests are welcome to use washer/dryer in main house. Guests have use of the back yard with fruit trees and some berries when in season. Also the cottage is within walking distance of Division street shops, Pizzicato pizza, the 52nd & Foster street Food Carts and much more. The # 4 bus is just a block and a half away, which can take passengers west directly downtown. The TRI-MET app or website is easy to use & can help you get you anywhere from the airport, to downtown, to Powells Books, The Chinese Garden, and so on.
South Tabor Neighborhood is a quiet eclectic little neighborhood with many avid gardners, friendly neighbors, and gobs of dog lovers. We have community get-togethers, work parties, and holiday celebrations! If you are used to neighborhoods where no one knows each other or even speaks to each other this is definitely NOT the neighborhood for you :-D
  • We stayed for three nights at the South Tabor Cottage. It was a great home base for us to have while we explored the city. It was very clean and had everything we needed. This was our first AirBnB. Our host, Lisa, was very friendly and her breakfast was amazing! We are looking to move to Portland, and she gave us advice on where to house hunt and what we could expect as far as pricing/neighborhoods. We would definitely recommend the South Tabor Cottage. Just outside the city in a great neighborhood.

    Kristen2014-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second stay in the South Tabor Cottage and every bit as nice as the first. This time I shared the space with my daughter and it worked just fine for us. The space is light and airy, the bed super comfortable and everything clean and bright. Lisa is a friendly and cheerful host and the delivery of a most delicious home cooked breakfast each day was an amazing and welcoming addition to this stay!

    Deborah2015-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable bed and nice private room in a peaceful neighbourhood. Lisa was very welcoming and her homemade breakfast was delicious. We would have stayed longer if she hadn't been so booked up.

  • Nice cottage yummy breakfast good convo.

    Jonathan2013-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • My son and I enjoyed our stay at the cottage very much, it was cozy and comfortable and we slept soundly. The cabin is quiet and in a good location from which to travel all around Portland. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious!

    Elvira2013-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa's cottage is perfect! My husband and I were in town for a conference and found Lisa's tiny house ideal for us! Not to mention that the vegan breakfast burritos were amazing! We will definitely stay at Lisa's again.

    Jowhara2016-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the cottage. It's cozy, comfortable and very clean. Lisa made breakfast for us,and it was delicious! Very pleasant hostess. I definitely recommend the place and would stay there again. Cottage is in a beautiful and peaceful neighborhood. Very glad we stayed there.

Magic Barn, circa 1936, former sculpture studio restored by community artists with old growth barn wood, up-cycled furnishings, kitchen, claw foot bath, baby amenities, with a sculpture garden. Centrally located in the heart of a charming restaurant and boutique district; 3 blocks to both SE Hawthorne and Division St. 15 minutes to both the airport and downtown, there are 4 bus stops and rental bikes within 3 blocks, and ample street parking on our block. Natural cleaning products only.
Built with Love! Cannabis is legal in Oregon. You are welcome to responsibly smoke tobacco and cannabis outside only. There are many dispensaries within walking distance. We are permitted by the city of Portland to host ten guests total at a time at the Magic Barn and The Magic House which are adjacent. If you are a group of more than two, please send us an inquiry to see if we can accommodate your group. Family amenities are available upon request: portable crib, baby bath, high chair, etc. From 2000 to 2015 the Magic Barn was Todji's sculpture studio. Most of the sculptures in the sculpture garden were designed right here and are exhibited for everyone to experience. When Todji first moved into the main house as a renter, the Magic Barn was just an empty crooked shed with no electricity, water or heat and it was filled with trash. Todji purchased the old neglected rental in 2004 when self-employed artists could get a loan. After fifteen years of restoring the main house, while building a career as a sculptor, Todji and Gisele decided to convert the sculpture studio into a "Magic Barn" to host travelers and guests such as yourself! During the summer of 2015 Todji designed and built the Magic Barn with the talented carpenters and fine art painters Theo Holdt and TJ Ravenwolf. The interior wood siding are salvaged old growth barn planks, and the ceiling is made of the original 1936 rafters and sheathing. TJ’s painting is hanging above the couch. TJ is native American from the Alaskan tribes of Koyukon Athabaskan and Muscogee Creek. TJ collected all of the natural pigments in the painting from all around Oregon in prayer, and his prayer in painting now graces the Magic Barn. Todji and Gisele have taken on the profession of being Airbnb "Artist Inn Keepers" to help support the cultivation of their artistic practices, and to share their creative work with you. Todji and Gisele produce public art bronze sculpture monuments for US cities which you may already have seen, or that you may see one day, please feel free to take a postcard home and visit their sculpture website.
The Magic Barn is centrally located in one of the most charming and hip neighborhoods in Portland. With the center of both SE Hawthorne and SE Division St within 3 blocks, there is an abundance of restaurants, boutique browsing, grocery stores, neighborhood strolling, and park hiking options within walking distance. See a movie, or just step in to witness the beautiful and iconic McMenamin's Bagdad theater, accompanied by an incredible restaurant/bar/pool hall in the back called the "Back Stage Bar", at SE 37th and Hawthorne. It will give you a feel for classic Portland! We are minutes from Mt Tabor park which has a lovely forest with walking trails sitting upon a dormant volcano, and we are 45 minutes to the spectacular 600 foot tall Multnomah waterfall in the gorgeous Columbia River Gorge scenic area. Division is the new up and coming Southeast neighborhood. With lots of modern architecture, new restaurants and shops you will get a feel for the freshest vibe Portland has to offer. Here is a list to get you started: Restaurants: (The options are endless but here are a few popular favorites!) Serving Food Late - Sapphire Hotel at 50th and Hawthorne, Romantic and sexy atmosphere- great for late night drinks and gourmet bar food. Stumptown Coffee Roasters- 45th and Division, Classic Great Portland Coffee Trinket- One block away on Lincoln and 39th, great for Brunch with their locally sourced eggs!) Harlow- 36th and Hawthorne, Hip and Healthy, great for lunch, or fresh veggie juice. Por Que No- 46th and Hawthorne, Wildly popular Mexican with a great playful decor. (Don’t be intimidated by the line, you order at the counter, and then get a seat and your order will be out in no time) Pok Pok- 32nd and Division, There are literally 11 Thai restaurants in walking distance, but Pok Pok is the best. Began as a food cart, but grew into a Restaurant Empire. Worth the wait. Bollywood Theater- 30th and Division, Indian food small plates. Also along line but worth it! Salt and Straw- 33rd and Division, Food Networks top five ice creams! Super Popular! Lauretta Jeans- 34th and Division, Breathtaking Pies! Tidbit Food Cart Pod, 28th and Division, Fabulous food cart selection, lots of seating, including a beer garden and vintage clothing bus. A truly Portland experience. Hiking: The website of "Friends of the Columbia Gorge" has detailed information about many hikes in the scenic and nearby Columbia River Gorge. It is a 45 minute drive from here to enter the gorge. Below are the names of hikes that we love and recommend. Check the website to find a hike with a distance and fitness level that suits you. For those who are visiting the gorge for the first time, I recommend visiting the most spectacular, and also the most touristicated, 600 foot Multnomah Falls. For those who want a challenging half day hike you can begin at Multnomah Falls and hike a loop called the Franklin Ridge Loop. Multnomah Falls /Franklin Ridge Loop Eagle Creek Angels Rest Bridal Veil Falls Triple Falls Wahkeena Falls Groceries, Pharmacy and Shopping: New Seasons- Local Health Food Store (40th and Hawthorne) Fred Meyers- Local Department/Grocery store (Cesar Chavez and Hawthorne) Rite Aid Pharmacy- Drugstore/pharmacy (Cesar Chavez and Division) Powell’s Books- A smaller version of Portland’s famous Bookstore (37th and Hawthorne) Gold Door- Wonderful Imports from around the world (37th and Hawthorne) Enjoy!
  • Such a lovely special place to stay. Super cozy an full of charm. The bed was comfortable, and we had everything we needed. Located close to many shops and restaurants too! We will be back next time we need a place to stay in Portland!

  • We loved our stay at the Magic Barn. It was very peaceful and romantic with an artsy and rustic flair. Thank you both so much for your hospitality. We hope to stay there again soon.

  • Upon arrival we received a welcome note with the house rules and the history of the barn. The barn was exactly as described and had a warm and cozy feeling to it. Todji & Gisele were very sweet when we met them and were very interested in our comfort and experience of our trip so far. The neighborhood is in a convenient location. It felt very safe and clean, and there were many interesting things to do that were within a comfortable walking distance. I would definitely recommend the Magic Barn to those traveling to the Portland area, and hope to visit again soon.

  • Magic is correct! I highly recommend this cozy retreat.

    Ally2017-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was great, worked out perfect for my short trip back to Portland to spend time with family and friends. Had everything I needed and felt like if anything had been lacking I would have been able to reach out without a problem. Would stay again!

  • Our stay at the Magic Barn was the perfect way to end our trip to Portland - we only wish we had more time! The apartment is beautiful and has everything you will need for a pleasant stay. It's clear that Todji and Gisele take great pride in the space and it felt warm and welcoming. Gisele came over to say hello and we enjoyed the conversation very much! Great location - when we return to Portland, we'd feel lucky to stay at the Magic Barn again.

    Danielle2016-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • The Magic Barn was a wonderful place to stay. Beautiful on the inside and out. Great location, close to SE Hawthorne area and between SE Division and SE Belmont. We're big walkers and bikers, so getting around this area was super easy. The gated entrance to the backyard with a key code made it super easy to come and go as we pleased without disturbing anyone in the house. Overall, would certainly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

Our studio guest house comfortably sleeps two and features a mini kitchen and private bath. Walk through the garden to your private entrance. Curl up by the fire and enjoy one of the art books from our library. Walk to nearby Alberta Arts District.
With two small children at home, we have found little time to paint in the second floor of the studio building at the rear of our property. Come and enjoy this lovely space! It features high ceilings, ample light, a wood stove (with back-up electric heat), views of the surrounding gardens, a large table and a drafting table to spread out and work on, and an art book library. The kitchenette is equipped with a sink, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and electric kettle. It does not have a cook top or oven or toaster. We provide coffee and tea. The bathroom features a shower stall and an eco-toilet that collects water from hand washing to use on the next flush. With summer temperatures rising, we recently added an AC window unit for our guests comfort. We offer a full bed with a seven inch Ikea spring mattress and a two inch memory-foam topper. Our guests report that the room is surprisingly quiet at night. Please note we do not have a TV; however, our wifi is fast enough to watch movies or shows on your personal device.
I love this place. This is a residential neighborhood with a wide cross section of racial and economic diversity, a lot of the old 'hood funkiness still intact, plus newer hipster creativity and some higher-end business activity. Expect to see a mix of dilapidated buildings and newer or rejuvenated construction. We feel safe at night, however I do advise women to be wary about walking alone at night, particularly if you don't have much street smarts. We are within easy walking distance of Alberta Street Co-op, coffee shops, restaurants, bars and other businesses. The post office, laundromat, Safeway and Walgreens are very close by as well.
  • This is a lovely place to spend a night or three or five. With windows on three sides, the studio is light and airy, and it's super clean. Everything has been thought of for the visitor's comfort and convenience. The check-in and check-out process could not be easier, and since no interaction with the hosts is required, it's an introvert's dream. On top of all that, it's a tremendous value. I look forward to staying here again.

    Elizabeth2015-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying at the Artist's studio. The place was beautiful and we really enjoyed using the wood stove. Coffee and cream were available in the mini fridge, and the efficiency kitchen was useful, but we were also a 15 minute walk away from Alberta street where there are many good restaurants and bars.

    Lydia2014-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • This artfully thought out space was perfect as our last night in Portland. A little more secluded than central Portland, which we loved. All the little amenities and thoughts from the peppermint shampoo/conditioner to the cream in the fridge. Would stay again!

    Jenn2017-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • The place was clean and cozy, and Nell was very kind and accommodating. We especially appreciated the wood burning stove. It was the perfect spot for a comfortable night in Portland!

    Amanda2017-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great private studio! Beautiful views out of the Windows. Warm and cozy and would definitely come back!

    Stephanie2017-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed Nell's lovely apartment. We didn't stay long, but definitely appreciated the clean and tastefully decorated space. Just a note that there are skylights which are a nice touch, but they let quite a bit of natural light into the apartment early in the morning, making it a bit difficult to sleep in. Would still highly recommend - we would've stayed longer if we could have!

    Jessica2017-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful room! It was perfect and was the highlight of my trip.

    Gerard2017-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • Terrific small place with cute wood stove (excellent instructions so you don't smoke yourself), and a tiny but mighty wall heater, the cutest toilet/hand wash stand ever, complimentary Boyd's coffee, comfy bed, amazing books and art to enjoy. Lots of info to enjoy eateries nearby, or greater Portland. Great host. Go there, enjoy!

  • Ed and Sari were gracious and thoughtful hosts, providing directions well in advance of our trip and even checking in with us during our stay. The unit is lovely, charming, and well-appointed, especially for a longer visit (full kitchen, TV, etc.). The location is amazing, just a couple of blocks from Hawthorne, a lively and fun commercial district less than a mile from where we were spending most of our time. One note: the unit has a full-size bed, which I hadn't noticed on the website when I made the reservation. For guests who are taller (or bigger) than average, it may not be the best fit.

    Becky2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful location, very good directions on how to get into the apartment, would highly recommend.

    Lexie2016-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect quiet spot for a solo business traveler or couple wanting to be near most of the best stuff in Portland. The unit was perfect for me on a short business trip and the entry is private enough that I never felt disturbed or that I was disturbing the owners.

    Paul2017-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Very warm and thoughtful hosts. Location fabulous-between Division and Hawthorne near the best restaurants Apt clean as whistle and comfortable

    Joel2016-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • The property was beautiful: a lovely space with bed, sofa, bathroom, kitchen, washer, etc (everything listed), including some helpful extras: leaflets and information on the neighbourhood and city, milk in the fridge, soap for showering, detergent for the washer & more. I was very impressed, and our two-night stay was very comfortable, I only wish I could have stayed longer. I was particularly charmed by the neighbourhood: so many beautiful houses nearby. Thank you for letting us stay, I hope to visit Portland again.

    Sally2015-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Situated in an exceptionaly beautiful, quiet neighborhood. Excellent location just minutes away from some amazing restaurants and a festival environment. Clean, cozy and comfy!

    Helyn2017-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a lovely place to stay. Fully equipped and so comfortable with everything you could need for a trip base. The unit feels private and is set back from the road so is nice and quiet. The neighbourhood and location is fantastic to explore Portland and especially if you like great food as many hot spots are within walking distance! We really liked all the provided local guidebooks and magazines to get to know the city. Highly recommend!

I was within walking distance of everything I wanted to do and found some awesome coffee shops right around the corner! Brad was awesome at responding and made the whole experience welcoming and accommodating! • Accurate listing, organized and available host, beautiful place....awesome location for the $$. Walls are a little thin but we only noticed this late one night when the upstairs neighbors may have been moving furniture. (Unlucky I guess) Thank you!

    Dina2015-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • When we first walked into Brad's studio apartment, we were both stunned at the beauty of the place. The place is even nicer than the pictures show. Parking was a piece of cake with the free parking pass. Plenty of brochures and maps were available to easily explore Portland. Having a full bathroom, laundry room, and kitchen made our trip super easy and enjoyable. If you want a place that is highly walkable, safe, and clean, this is it. Other posts noted noisy footsteps from neighbors above, but Brad has a fan and space heater that drown out any noise. I slept soundly.

    Matt2015-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • We did not meet Brad but his email communication made it easy to access the flat which was perfect for our needs. It was in a great location and equipped with everything you would need for a short or long stay. The fixtures and fitting gave it a quirky character.

Join us in one of Portland's hottest neighborhoods. Blocks away from SE Division street (home to Salt and Straw, Ava Gene's and Pok Pok), SE Hawthorne Street (historic hippie district) and Mt. Tabor Park (perfect for hiking and summer picnics).
Enjoy our brand new, charming 750 sq/ft apartment with old growth wooden beams, lots of natural light, and an original kitchen sink that my grandma used for canning her garden fruits. Guests have a private entrance, equipped kitchen, extra large bathroom with tub, queen bed, plush linens, full size pull out couch, storage closet and a 50" TV with cable. We've turned this studio into a mini-oasis and can't wait to share it with you.
Our home is in one of Portland's best & most historic neighborhoods, nestled between two of the city's most active, restaurant and bar filled streets. A family friendly, walkable, beautiful area. Division street sits two blocks south of our home where you can find Portland's most acclaimed & nationally recognized restaurants, such as: Pok Pok, Ava Genes, Woodsman Tavern and Salt and Straw. It's also home to Stumptown Coffee Roaster's very first coffee shop. This street is super chic but laid back, with many cute boutiques and upscale bars. Just two blocks north of our home sits SE Hawthorne Street-- historically known as Portland's "hippie district." Lots of brew pubs, second hand and vintage shops, along with the famed Por Que No Mexican restaurant. And for a killer view of the city and some beautiful nature, just head twelve blocks east, to Mount Tabor Park--a volcano cinder cone! You can hike, picnic, bike, and enjoy summer concerts here.
  • This was our first trip to Portland and we instantly fell in love with the city. Danielle, Tim and Baby L were excellent hosts! Communication was top notch and the one very minor hiccup we encountered was resolved within minutes. The space is super clean and nicely appointed. The location is amazing, as it gives the opportunity to explore a couple charmingly weird neighborhoods by foot. For the record, the Brian's Bowl with beef tongue at ¿Por Qué No? is one of the best things I've ever eaten. In fact, all of the suggestions we tried out were on the money. We can't wait to come back. Book your stay with confidence!

    Bryne2017-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Portland was amazing, thanks in part to our amazing hosts Danielle and her husband. Very clean place, exactly as advertised, in a perfect location to get around to all the Portland hotspots. Danielle is very responsive and provided us with great local insights. Would definitely come back and stay again.

  • My boyfriend and I loved the beautiful design, private entry and cozy vibe of the space. Great location that offers easy access to all that Portland has to offer. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

    Kimberly2016-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great little spot. Very quiet/secluded place, but fun/interesting walk to an awesome part of the city! We walked a lot (Mt Tabor park for sunset, then back to the apartment, and then back out for late dinner to Ava Gene's). This place is located next to some wonderful spots: stumptown coffee, Ava Gene's, Salt and straw and Pok Pok (all sampled by us in 24hrs). As for the apartment: charming décor, cozy sectional and super comfy bed. Sat at the fun desk to read for a bit and the auto-locking door code was super easy (way better than using an actual key). Would for sure stay there again

    Benjamin2016-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay in Danielle's studio! Exactly as pictured, we loved the décor. Perfect location for exploring the city & loads of restaurants in walking distance!

  • We loved this location. Walking distance to many coffee shops, delicious restaurants and some pretty great antique shops. Easy access to come and go as you please. Quite neighborhood with friendly people all around. Great place to be able to check out the Southeast side of Portland. Host was also very accommodating and quick to respond. Two thumbs up!

  • We absolutely loved our stay with Heidi and Marenda. The apartment is just as cute as it is in the pictures, and St Johns is wonderful. What a great place o rest before, and after, the Portland marathon!

  • We were happy to find this sweet loft near our daughter's house. Our hosts provided a very clean, quiet and beautiful space for our 2 night stay. Stocking a pantry with hot chocolate, oatmeal, coffee was a plus. We learned on departure they had recycled barn wood and built this hideaway themselves.

    Michael2016-05-23T00:00:00Z

We arrived late and they were sweet and left a light in for us. We received a text welcoming us and letting us know we could contact them for any need. It was all just so cozy, inviting and safe. Great quiet little neighborhood, but located so it's really easy and quick to get to anything you'd need. It was an ideal place to stay and if we head back up that way, I would book it again in a heartbeat.

  • Such a nice place to stay for my 3rd airbnb, they have all the necessities you need. Coffee and creamer for those who need a little bit of wake up and granola for those who need breakfast. Very cute and cozy. Wifi was slow but we tried spending most of our time in downtown. There is also a lot of open windows to allow a lot of light in.

    Jodie2017-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome location and cozy spot for a getaway! Great hosts and hospitality :)

    Kimberlee2017-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • This place is hands down the nicest Airbnb I've stayed at! It sits in a beautiful shaded backyard. The online pictures don't do the place justice. The kitchen was well stocked, the home was so full of light! Everything was super clean. Our bed was comfortable, and the place is close to some fun restaurants and parks. Downtown Portland is a close drive away. You can drive to the ocean in about an hour and a half! My husband and I would recommend this place to anyone!

    Margaret2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful home away form home! Situated in a lush residential neighbourhood with a great grocery store and car rental location within walking distance. It was easy to get settled and start exploring. Forest Park is less than a 10-minute drive away—just across the bridge. The hosts are lovely: attentive and respectful of privacy. The home is stunning and the backyard is spectacular. A rare situation where staying put in your logging is as compelling as the surrounding attractions. We slept like babies. Thank you Heidi and Marenda!

    Renee2016-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Heidi and Marenda's place was the perfect weekend getaway! It looks exactly as pictured and was so cozy and relaxing. I couldn't believe how quiet the neighborhood was for what a quick drive it was to get downtown! We admired the design of the loft the whole time and appreciated all the thoughtful touches. We would definitely stay here again and will be recommending it to friends!

  • Colin and Medina were great hosts. They were present if needed but stayed out of the way, as has been mentioned in previous comments. The property is as pictured. The space is very functional even though it is a smaller rental. Location was great - in proximity to nice neighborhoods, shops, restaurants and we were able to rent bikes nearby and head downtown for a night.

    Cory2014-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place! The pictures don't do it justice. It was very clean and every aspect of the environment had been thought out and tastefully done. Medina was very welcoming and attentive to a few requests that I had.

    Malcolm2014-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • A great little space in a very central area. This was an incredible spot for a five-day getaway in Portland - even though I had my own car with me, the guest house was a close walking-distance to transit and grocery stores, which made it easy to explore most of the city. The neighborhood was quiet but not too out-of-the-way. Colin and Medina were very approachable and helpful during our entire stay, as well. If you're coming to Portland as a couple and don't need a huge amount of space, I'd recommend this guest house in a heartbeat.

    Alex2015-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Colin and Medina are great hosts, and Colin made sure we were well taken care of! The space itself is in the backyard, so it feels like a fully private accommodation with private entrance and garden sitting area. We didn't make use of the hammock much because it rained out some nights, but this is a great space to retreat to after a long day, and we deeply enjoyed the bed and the TV! Thanks for everything Colin! See you again soon :)

    Joel And Lynette2013-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Our time in Portland was perfect- we loved staying at Colin and Medina's cozy garden cottage. Both Colin and Medina made us feel welcome in their garden- ensuring we had a place to store our rental bikes and sharing where the local haunts are. The cottage has everything you need and more- hello NETFLIX! The NE location was ideal for all our exploring- we were bicycle on cycles and getting to and from all areas could not have been easier. We would recommend staying here with Colin and Medina.

    Buffy2013-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • We came to Portland to sort of try it on for size and see if we might want to live here someday. This was the perfect place to start that type of exploration. It's a nice, sleepy neighborhood. Great places to eat and drink nearby without being a wild area.

    Samantha2015-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a wonderful time in this little garden oasis. We met Colin on our first day, he was really kind and welcoming, and the space was great, too! Clearly an eye toward efficiency and comfort, the small space was never crowded, we had everything we needed, and we made great use of the patio for picnics and morning quiet. Perfect way to celebrate turning 30, would love to come back and stay, again. Thanks!

This private studio is truly one of a kind. Surrounded by natural beauty, this exquisitely-crafted and light-filled space is conveniently located to downtown and desired neighborhoods via car, light-rail, bus or bike. Truly a retreat in the city. City Permit #(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)-HO
This is an entirely private space on a large lush lot in Portland. It is surrounded by tall evergreens and a beautiful garden. It was built with hardwoods and has several skylights which provide both light (during the day) and a view of the sky and stars during the night. There is a small kitchen with a stove top, toaster oven and refrigerator. The tall ceilings, woodwork, and stonework make you feel like you are in a modern cabin situated in nature even though you are just 5 miles from downtown--which can be easily accessed by bus or train. Relax in our hammock, or spend time in the outdoor sauna.
North Tabor is a quiet neighborhood with big lots, wide roads and lots of trees. We are less than a 10 minute drive to downtown Portland and there are some great restaurants, coffee shops and a brewery within walking distance.
  • We loved this tiny house. Jill is a great host. Perfect location to get anywhere in Portland with just a short drive.

  • We really enjoyed the space and had a great first time in Portland. The only thing we were a tad uncomfortable with was the ladder up to the bed. Getting up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom was a little scary. Other than that, we slept great and had everything we needed! The kitchenette was perfect for us!

    Ashley2018-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • This little slice of quiet heaven is in a great spot of Portland; close enough in for convenient access to every great part of town, but far enough out to enjoy a little buffer between you and the hustle & bustle. The proximity to Mt. Tabor park, to coffee and pizza and other restaurants... we loved walking wherever we could! Our hosts, Jill & Donnella, were kind and friendly; the space was bright and clean. The perfect rustic respite for our honeymoon!

    Paige2017-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Jill's backyard guesthouse is fantastic! The woodstove and sauna made it extra cozy on the rainy and windy weekend we spent in Portland. Couldn't have asked for a better experience!

    Alex2017-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place was absolutely perfect for our visit to Portland. The neighborhood was very laid back and convenient to everything we needed. Check in was super easy and laid back. The apartment is private and cozy and has everything you need and the grounds are beautiful- lovely flower garden and lots of different spaces to chill out in! We'd definitely stay here again! The only thing I'd note is if you have mobility issues or a major fear of heights the loft bed ladder might be the best choice for you. Otherwise, I'd highly recommend!!

    Carrie2016-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny house was beautiful, clean, quiet and in a nice neighborhood. The sleeping berth was like a tree house - wonderful! There was easy access to public transportation (2 bus lines and MAX line) and close to a supermarket. We had a great time in PDX. I would highly recommend this Airbnb stay.

    Silke2016-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I stayed at the Urban Retreat and it was so relaxing, comfortable, and cozy! We needed to get away from hectic work schedules in Los Angeles and it provided everything we needed--great space surrounded by beautiful trees--we really felt like we were far from any city! But when you walk out of driveway--you are in a great neighborhood walking distance to many great cafes! There is so much natural light--it feels like a little cabin in the woods! The hosts provided everything we needed and were very responsive if we had questions. We also took Ubers out to explore the city which was convenient. We are planning to go back and stay at the Urban Retreat again!

  • Jill's place was easy to find, located is a great walkable neighborhood, blocks from a grocery store and lots of coffee shops and restaurants. Super clean, cute and mini kitchen is just right for a few day stay! Would stay there again if I was back in Portland.

Brand spanking new, beautiful, modern addition built on our ranch house.
Our 425 square foot addition is brand new (finished 2015) - immaculately designed, gorgeous and a perfect place to stay during your time in Portland. It has a pellet stove for delightful ambiance (and heating), it's own entrance, a blow-up air mattress (for a third guest) and a patio. Stay in a place completely Portland, powered by solar panels, built environmentally friendly, sitting on a major bike street and a couple blocks from the MAX light rail.
Our house is within 2 miles of the fantastic north and north east neighborhoods of Williams, Mississippi and Alberta. There are dozens of restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance and I leave a list of our local favorites in the house.
  • Listing is very accurate. Clean and easy to find - all instructions very clear. Perfect location for a stay in Portland. Will stay there again when we visit Portland!!

    Terry2016-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • The Addition very well might be the best of Portland Airbnb. It's clean, private, well decorated, and close to transit- all at a great price. Plus Joseph is a super friendly and accommodating host. I can't recommend it enough!

    Krystal2016-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • The Addition was a beautiful spot to rest up right after my long flight. The design and construction of the space is immaculate. Towels and sheets were clean and good quality. Joe gave me all of the info I needed ahead of time, and instructionss in the apartment itself were clear. I got to the Addition easily from PDX using the MAX Lightrail. Then I was able to take a bus east on Alberta to enjoy the evening. Overall, this spot is convenient and the neighborhood is nice. I'd be happy to stay again!

  • Great experience! Comfy, had everything I needed and check in and out was easy and communicated well

    Jeroneka2016-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first airbnb experience and it was awesome! It was such a great location to be walking distance from a whole area of great bars and restaraunts and biking/driving distance from downtown. The pictures don't do this place justice, you can really tell the effort put in to make this place look great (: We loved that there were a ton of board games to play (especially forbidden island which is a favorite of ours) and loved loved loved the pellet stove. I liked that it felt very private like our own little space and that we could come and go without disturbing anyone since it was separate from the main house. Our first time in Portland was a so great and was especially wonderful because of being able to stay here! Will definitely look forward to coming back someday (:

    Jennifer2016-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Everything I want from an air bnb stay: clean, quiet, private, easy communication with the host.

    Adriane2016-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • My fiancé and I absolutely loved our stay at The Addition! It was very modern, with a great Portland ambiance. Very clean and comfortable with all of the necessities and a great mini fireplace. Even better than the pictures! We would definitely love to stay here again when we're back in town.

Nestled in the private backyard of our family home, a neighborhood hub. The round, rustic, romantic MudHut hides in a secret garden overlooking the St. Johns bridge and sparkling river, near Cathedral Park, Forest Park, downtown St. Johns, canoe and hiking trails... Firepit, permaculture gardens, loaner bikes, community life, view!
Our hut was handbuilt by family, friends, and community with great love and serves as a guesthouse, homeschool hut, sauna and sanctuary. Wood-heated and candle-lit, it's a tranquil, rustic sleeping space. I recommend staying two nights for an immersive experience in the relaxing atmosphere.
We're in St. Johns, Portland's northern-most neighborhood and a small town of its own with a strong community identity here. Many families here trace their roots back to James John, the pioneer founder of St. Johns who is memorialized all over the neighborhood. Downtown St. Johns is a few blocks away, with plenty of restaurants (Thai, vegan, soulfood, chinese, pub grub, pizza, deli, breakfast, coffee & gelato), an old movie theater and shopping (lots of vintage). Cathedral Park, three blocks away, is gorgeous and photogenic with access to the Willamette River and the awesome overhead presence of the gothic St. Johns Bridge that you can see from the hut. We're also close to a lot of natural areas for urban hiking and paddling. Forest Park, full of trails and old growth forest, is right across the bridge. Just north of here is Kelley Point Park, the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia Rivers; Smith and Bybee Lakes, a wetlands for birding and paddling; and Sauvie Island, with beaches, farms, nurseries, hiking, fishing, & birding. We're on the Pacific migratory fly-way, so lots of raptor action around here. Bald eagles, peregrine falcons and hawks swoop by regularly.
  • Ivy's place was amazing. Everything was as described in the posting. The mudhut had no electricity but there were candles that really enhanced the experience, as well as the fireplace that kept us warm throughout the night. We enjoyed the hot tub during the night with some wine, which had a really romantic view of the river and one of the bridges. There were some trains that went by but it was soothing to hear them in the distance. in the morning we used their outdoor kitchen to reheat some left overs and enjoyed breakfast. It was kind of chilly because it was outdoors. All and all we were very satisfied with our experience and would come back again, more so in the summer. Thanks Ivy!

    Samuel2016-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Had the best stay in the mud hut! My first airbnb experience and it will be hard to follow up. Ivy is such a hospitable woman, lending my boyfriend and I a wine opener and tending to our fire making incapabilities. Her hut is small and quaint with candle lighting and a comfortable futon dressed with plenty of blankets for the nighttime. She provided towels and shower ammentities along with the most positive energy and conversation. You should definitely stay in her hut if you have the chance! It will make for such an authentic portland experience.

    Erica2014-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. I was there for two nights with my fiancé. If you would like to show up and discover everything for yourself, please stop here and book your stay. Spoilers ahead! :) The yard is great to hang out in with lots of sitting and hang out space. There is so much life there. Chickens, a friendly cat (named Potato), birds flying and chirping. The hut itself is small and fits one bed, a fireplace/stove, and a small bench. There is no electricity in there which is amazing! If you really have to charge your electronics you can do so in the bathroom area, which is under their house. We had issues with wi-fi, but hey this is a hut and our stay was best enjoyed when we had our electronics off and just enjoyed the place. You light the Hut at night with small candles placed throughout. It stays a very nice temperature. It was cool when it was warm out and it was warm when the sun went down. I highly recommend you stay here! The town is very small with a lot of organic food options. If you have certain diet restrictions, I am sure you will have an easy time finding just what you need. Thank you Ivy for your hospitality and kindness. It was a wonderful experience.

    Jesse2016-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • The hut was filled with lit candles and a small fire. The yard was stunning and the hot tub was nice and warm. We immediately felt relaxed. It was amazing!

    Maren2015-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Ivy was a great communicator, very quick to respond to e mails and calls. When a last minute change in plans forced me to cancel my reservation, she was gracious and understanding.

    Catherine2014-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place, beautiful view, wonderful cob structure. The garden was large, with lots of places to roam and hang out, and lots of fun, stocked with chickens, raspberries and a very friendly cat. The mud hut and bathroom were very clean and Ivy was a very welcoming and gracious host. There are numerous bus stops close by, as well as shopping, food and a movie theatre.

This bright studio in the heart of Portland's historic Irvington neighborhood is not to be missed. Tree lined streets with big beautiful homes nestled in the heart of North East Portland. Comes with a full kitchen, a private bathroom, Wifi, cable tv, and a platform Full Bed with access to a hot tub in the back yard! Plus! Plenty of free street parking in front of our home if you have rented a car. A home for every travelers needs.
Arts-and-crafts architecture, handmade redwood tables, and a minimal but comfortable style give this bright studio a true Portland feeling. We always keep the kitchen and the bathroom stocked with the essentials. There is a table with high chairs in the kitchen, perfect for eating a home cooked meal. The Full bed lies under a North facing window, letting in lots of light throughout the day. The apartment is on the first floor of a large 1910 home, which was converted to an eight-plex in the 1940s to adapt to the demands of WWII. I have lived in Irvington for 14 years and Portland for 25, and this house is one of the most unique that I’ve seen. After a long day out on the town, you’ll come home to an always ready hot tub in the backyard, a plush full bed, a big TV, and blazingly fast Wi-Fi.
  • Beautiful space with everything we needed. Took full advantage of the hot tub. Seamless check in.

    Sarah2015-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • The host canceled this reservation the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.

  • I absolutely loved my stay! Jason was extremely accommodating and was very generous when I asked to check out late. The apt is cozy & comfy & the bed was so perfect I didn't want to get up in the morning. It was everything I wanted. The neighborhood is drop dead gorgeous and perfect for long walks. Some of Portlands best restaurants are a few minutes away. I look forward to coming back soon!

    Kimberly2014-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Jason was awesome.. My prior stay was interrupted due to my failure to jump on the reservation, so I lost days in between, but Jason was super helpful and offered me his studio in lieu of my lost days. He was a great help and it kept me on the same building and block in Irvington which was very helpful. I would stay here again in a flash.. Super comfy and easy access and quiet house. Very clean, and always helpful for any needs. There is even a laundry in the basement.. Awesome.. Could not be happier, well I could be if I actually lived in this neighborhood..

    Lucas2015-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • This place is perfect. It has an amazing open, relaxed feel. Jason was really easy to communicate with and made the stay everything we were hoping for. Definitely looking forward to staying here again Thanks!

    Ryan2016-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Tiffany was really nice when she greeted us but we never met Jason. We didn't know that we were sharing a house with other people so it was a bit surprising. The studio has most of the things we need. However, the bathroom was really small and there was no soap. The room gets really cold at night. Also, We felt quite uncomfortable because 10pm is quiet time and we are afraid to bother others while we talk because the walls were very thin and you can hear everything. Other than that we really like the location, it is very close to a lot of good restaurant if you are a foody. We would still think that with the same price, we could get a lot better than this place.

    Jason2016-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Jason's place in the Irvington neighborhood. Lots of great coffee shops and spots nearby and Uber rides to downtown and the Pearl District were less than $10! He provided a detailed list of places to go with all the cable/WiFi info and also had the shower stocked with shampoo/conditioner and body wash. We didn't get a chance to check out the hot tub due to the rainy weather but if we're ever back it sounded great. Also we were greeted by two super adorable dogs at the place!

    Elena2016-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous location. I felt safe, double locks. Good parking on street. Clean studio but did not like foul smell emitting from pillows. Two coffee pots to choose from with filters and coffee. Fridge, microwave, cable tv, fan, man type of hygiene products, stove, hot tub, cooking and dining utensils, adequate towels and washcloths.

Our home is beautifully situated across from a quiet park. We are located just a couple blocks walk to restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques and bus stops on trendy Hawthorne and Division streets.
Our one bedroom, 500 square-foot basement apartment is lovingly decorated in the Northwest Style with touches of Scandinavia. The apartment has separate entrance for your privacy. The bedroom has a queen bed with cozy, fluffy featherbed comforters. The living room has a sofa that converts to double bed with bedding provided. We also have a queen futon available for parties over 4 people. It’s a bit tight for 6 people, but it is possible! We have a little kitchenette with sink, refrigerator, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker with complimentary coffee. The bathroom has a bath/shower combo with all the essentials provided. We have a television that picks up a few stations, but we do not have cable. Our location is ideal for foodies who want to walk to popular restaurants on SE Hawthorne and SE Division streets. We are directly across the street from a park. The Hawthorne bus (#14) is just 1.5 blocks away and will get you downtown within 10 minutes. We also are walking distance to grocery stores, movie theaters, shops, breweries and pubs. Our neighborhood is quiet at night, so we ask that there be no noise after 10:00pm. We are an early-to-bed, early-to-rise family (up at 5:00am) so you may hear us above in the morning.
We are ideally situated between the popular Hawthorne and Division streets. We are 2.5 blocks from the nearest bus stop and are walking distance to shops, restaurants, grocery stores, movie theaters. Best of all we are located right across the street from a park. There is ample parking as well.
  • This place is exactly as described, next to a great little park and playground where our daughter loved the swings and merry-go-round. It was also just a very short walk to some great restaurants, shops and the local Safeway supermarket.

  • Our stay at Jennifer’s was great! Communication was easy and the apartment comfortable and warm. The location is awesome and walking distance to great bars and restaurants. Highly recommend!

  • The place was exactly as pictured, clean and pleasant. It was located in a nice residential neighborhood with a park across the street, so it would be good for people with kids, although that wasn't us. It's also close to Hawthorne & Division, so lots of restaurants and things to do. A great spot and nice place. Jennifer was easy to communicate with and gave clear directions. A nice value and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Welcome to our brand new 1 bedroom gem in the heart of bustling NE Portland. Settle in to the comfortable bed, cook a meal in the gourmet kitchen or just drop your bags and head out the door to a city easily accessible from the front doorstep.
This space has it all. Queen size memory foam bed, full kitchen and bathroom, washer and dryer, living room with flat screen TV, a lovely sunny patio and backyard. Restaurants, bars, and a grocery store are just blocks away.
We are a 5 minute walk to the Dekum triangle were we frequent some of our favorite restaurants and watering holes (Firehouse, Tamale Boy, and Breakside Brewery to name a few). There is a also a great little coffee shop/ bakery at the end of our street called Cafe Eleven. The Safeway grocery store is just a few blocks away as well.
  • Michael’s place was a nice little stop for us. Wish we could have spent more time in the area and at his listing. The apartment is as advertised. Very roomy and warm, clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend Michael’s spot and would definitely come back.

  • Everything was great and exactly as pictured. Michael was quick to communicate/check letting us know to contact him with questions or concerns (which we didn't have) after that we had our privacy. The place was big, clean and quiet. We also loved having access to the outside space and really enjoyed breakfast in the sun on the patio. Thanks so much!

    Christine2016-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Michael and his roommate were very communicative before and during our trip. They checked in to be sure we had everything we needed, check in was a breeze, and there was even some local beer in the fridge which we thoroughly enjoyed! It was really modern, nice fenced yard, easy off street parking, super close to Starbucks and grocery. Would definitely stay again!

  • Cute little house in a great neighborhood. Rick was quick to answer any questions I had and there was plenty of room for myself, my wife and daughter. I would definitely stay here again.

    Charlie2015-04-11T00:00:00Z

    Beatrice2014-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Rick was really responsive to any questions we had leading up to our arrival and I sure he would have continued to be if we had any during the stay. Fairly small space, especially once the bed is down, but also really unique. In the end what might be lacking in space is made up for by the great location. So very close to so many great places to eat, drink, and shop.

    Ryan2016-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Rick was quick to give us details and information about this location. It was just as described on the website. It was very clean and close to Mississippi Ave. My wife and I could walk to dinner and dessert from the location. It was a great time. We'll be back!

    Derek And Kim2015-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Rick was a perfect host. Great communication, easy to book, easy check in, everything just went smoothly as could be. The little green house was so much fun. The location is a great spot, right off Mississippi. It's clean, cheery, and the bed is very comfortable. Thanks again!

    Hannah2014-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot about a block from an awesome brewery and street lined with food trucks and brunch spots.

    Paul2015-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • I live just a mile away and stayed at the Little Green House for a few days of solitude. I love the neighborhood and the house was just the right size for me. The weather got pretty warm during my stay, but I was able to keep fairly cool with the fans provided. Overall, I would recommend this place. However, there were sugar ants in the sink, the shower, and the kitchenette during my stay. I was informed they "come and go", so I tried to keep everything really clean.

Limit of 1 - 2 people only. Just the basics! High-quality sheets, memory foam pillows, down comforter & furnishings. Air conditioner/mini-refrigerator/TV/wifi/Netflix. Non-toxic cleaners used. No pets. (NO cooking facilities---coffee & tea provided.)
The easily-accessible separate entrance for the apartment is located at the front of the house at street level, about thirty feet from the curb. Ample free parking is available in front of house and across the street. The studio is very small, yet the street level access and daylight windows make it feel accessible and cozy. It tends to stays cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Non-toxic cleaners are used.
We are 2 blocks South from Belmont, and 4 blocks North of Hawthorne Street. New Seasons Market & Deli is a short walk south on 41st to Hawthorne. Hawthorne Street has dozens of great restaurants and coffee shops. Come and have the real Portlandia experience! The Hawthorne District is home to funky shops, restaurants, coffee houses, and pubs. Of all Portland's neighborhoods, Hawthorne is "The Bohemian." It reflects an urban niche where alternative is considered mainstream.
  • David was extremely communicative and responsive from the moment we booked the space. We arrived later than originally planned, partly due to unforeseen traffic (welcome to Portland, I suppose) and he was so accommodating and welcoming once we finally arrived. The studio is exactly as described. About the size of a small hotel room (but with a nice, roomy bathroom) and the bed was so comfy. I know David was upstairs and some other guests were in the studio next door, but we did not hear a peep - the soundproofing is on point! It was also immaculate - even cleaner than a hotel room (which I feel are often the 'fake' kind of clean just for show). There are some fantastic places to eat & drink within a short walking distance - we were dying for a beer and so our first stop was HopHouse, which hit the spot. While there we met a local couple who directed us to 3 Doors Down for a TERRIFIC low-key Italian meal. The next morning, we used the freshly ground local coffee and pour-over contraption David had available and headed to the Hazel Room for breakfast before taking off. Would highly recommend all of these places and staying at David's studio!

  • This place was perfect for what we needed- a place to stay not too far away from downtown Portland after a very late night concert. Private and safe locked entrance, a quiet and very clean room with a very big, comfy and clean bed, fan and air conditioning, awesome shower and bathroom. David and Helen were very warm and communicative and made sure our trip went smoothly. They had coffee available to make and had we had the time, we would have really enjoyed it. Maybe next time! We would definitely recommend staying here and we would stay here again!

  • We had just a wonderful experience staying at this cozy studio apartment. The host was very gracious, thoughtful and hospitable. There was everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. Newly remodeled, homey and clean. I thought the bathroom was quite spacious too. We truly enjoyed the neighborhood as well - felt safe, lively and walking distance to the best restaurants in Portland. We would book this place again in a heartbeat.

  • David was great! He greeted us outside at check in time and showed us the really easy to use locking system he has on the gate and door. The new studio was well furnished and close enough to where we wanted to go. He keeps the studio clean and we enjoyed the netflix and roku. Also, thank you for the water bottles in the mini fridge. Parking was easy there was a spot for us in the front. Overall very satisfied and for a fair price.

  • Our stay at Studio A was wonderful. The studio is cute, clean, and close to a variety of neighborhoods. It was very thoughtful and kind to have coffee and granola bars...Also Eco-Friendly soaps. Parking on the street was also helpful. David is a super host - excellent communication via emails and greeted us when we arrived. Highly recommend.

  • Our stay at Melissa's place was great! Beautiful and clean space. We were very close to everything we wanted to do, and she provided great Portland information books and self-made binders of tips of where to eat!

  • Our stay at Melissa's wonderful Alberta apartment was great! We met Melissa (and her sweet dog Truman) at check in on a rainy day in Portland and she promptly offered us tips for the apartment at the area. The location was very convenient for us - just 10 minutes from the airport - as we had an early flight the next day. We were also close to some hip restaurants in the area. Parking was a breeze! The apartment has great space with a super comfortable bed, lovely linens and a large kitchen. We promptly made use of the Stumptown coffee left for us by Emma and her amazing grinder and coffee maker. The heating in the apartment warms it up quickly so you only need it on for a couple of minutes! Thank you, Melissa, for a wonderful stay!

  • We stayed at Melissa’s place for one night before we headed to the Oregon Coast for the rest of the weekend. They were both great hosts, and we had lovely conversations! The studio itself is spacious and well decorated! Her house is located in a cute neighborhood that has lots of plants and cats. It is walkable to the Alberta District where we had some amazing foods and beers. The Alberta street fair was also happening during our stay which was a lot of fun!

  • Melissa's place is as pictured, cozy, cute and warm for those cold nights. Melissa was a very thoughtful host who had lovely touches with coffee, teas, eggs, creamer and snack bars available. She has thought of everything, hair dryer, towels and even bodywash. Location was perfect. Everything was great, but as noted, the toilet does not work properly either does not flush or over flows, so that was the only flaw. I would definitely stay again otherwise :)

  • Melissa was very accommodating and so very kind. The space was very clean and well-styled! In a fun area easily accessible to lots of Portland’s trendy spots - great all around!

  • The space at Melissa’s was so cozy and inviting! Lots of privacy, spacious, and great decor! She was a great host, easy to work with and very communicative with instructions as this was our first AirBnb. The house was right around the corner from Alberta Street which was our favorite spot to hang out at night.
