Usted no será decepcionado.

Mucho amor, Daisy y Ricky x

The Hide is a tranquil getaway, tucked into the corner of Lemons Farm, our 15th Century thatched farmhouse. Originally a piggery, the cob and stone building has been converted into a little cottage with a living area, kitchenette, bathroom and mezzanine sleeping area. Fall asleep under the stars and wake to the sound of birdsong. Lemons Farm is located in Atherington, a lovely village with a church, shop and great playground. Some great pubs are nearby as are the gorgeous North Devon beaches.
Guests are able to explore our large gardens, with two lawns, kitchen garden, stream with waterfall and decking. We have a trampoline, mud kitchen, swings and slide for children to enjoy. Guests also have their own patio seating area with a BBQ (bring your own charcoal) and chiminea (logs and kindling are provided).
We are just 25 minutes from North Devon's spectacular Atlantic coastline. Westward Ho!, Saunton Sands, Woolacombe and Croyde Bay are our closest beaches and we try to get there as soon as the sun comes out. We also love walking and cycling on the Tarka Trail which goes along the river estuary. We are 15 minutes' drive from the market town of South Molton, well worth a visit for its pannier market and a Devonshire cream tea. From nearby Bideford or Ilfracombe you can take the ferry to Lundy Island's spectacular nature reserve. Family attractions include The Big Sheep, The Milky Way, Dartington Crystal, RHS Rosemoor Gardens and the lovely seaside towns of Clovelly and Lynmouth, which are all under an hour's drive. If you love walking, we are not far from Exmoor, but there are some very picturesque spots to explore even closer to home, like Northam Burrows and the Taw River. The South West coast path is also on our doorstep.

The Strode Family invite you to stay at Northcote Nest! Our peaceful & relaxing space in rural North Devon - ideal for getting away from the hustle & bustle of modern life! This hidden gem, nestled in the hills between Umberleigh and Chulmleigh, can be a base for exploring Dartmoor & Exmoor. Perfect for time out from busy lives to rest and recoup. Unwind in luxe Scandi accommodation. The Nest is a private space, including a shower room, a kitchen, a comfy double bed and a gorgeous sofa bed.
Enter through a private, lockable door surrounded by trellis adorned with climbing clematis and head into the kitchen space. Next to the lovely Belfast sink, and on top of the handmade unit, you'll find plenty of tea and fresh coffee, as well as locally sourced eggs, and milk in the fridge. You'll find everything you need for a self-catering stay - a portable induction hob, microwave, pots and pans, etc... The bathroom is just through the kitchen, where you can enjoy a relaxing shower with locally made luxury soap and shampoo! Head up the stairs and into the main living space and bedroom. You'll find an airy space, flooded with natural light, with an inviting sofa and super comfortable double bed. It's an ideal space for snuggling up with a good book, or getting into the right headspace for writing your next novel -no distractions...unless you want to head out for a countryside walk, visit a local pub or go for a surf at one of our many beautiful North Devon beaches. Our garden is large and gets lots of sun, and you are welcome to use the garden as you wish - there's a tyre swing, tree swing - even a badminton net if you fancy it. We have a brazier and BBQ available for you to use (you can buy a fire starter pack including natural firelighters, logs and marshmallows!) and a lovely seating area, where you can relax, look at the beautiful surroundings, and listen to the birds! We will try our best to facilitate any other requests that may be made to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
Perched on the edge of the Taw Valley, and 1 mile from the Tarka Line railway (Portsmouth Arms - request stop!), the beautiful Devon countryside is truly on our doorstep, waiting for you to come and explore! We're a short walk to Northcote Manor, where there is a stunning new Spa facility. There are some fantastic pubs locally - including The New Inn at Roborough, and a few in Dolton, Torrington and other nearby villages. Great Torrington (a short drive) has an amazing history, with a lovely little museum, and is a cultural hub - make sure you visit The Plough and the 1646 cafe. Lots of sweet independent shops and a flourishing Pannier Market. There are various festivals all over the area - Sheb Fest, Pig Stock, Elevation Festival, Ocean Fest (to name a few) in the summer, Torrington Music Festival and Appledore Book Festival in September...and the North Devon Show. RHS Garden Rosemoor is easily accessible from us, which boasts stunning horticultural finds and often has great exhibitions on. (Plus the food is amazing!) Head to the beach for a Hockings ice cream and a surf at Westward Ho! or drive over to Saunton Sands for a walk and a pint at the Beachside Grill. Instow is one of our favourite spots - sand dunes and gorgeous views of Appledore.

We are also set an equal distance between Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks. ) with RHS Rosemoor Gardens only 5 minutes away. Lower Whitsleigh Farm also encourage all the family to help feed our animals! From a young age, many children are drawn to animals and find them a constant source of fascination, humour and wonder. So at Lower Whitsleigh Farm we’re a big fan of providing holidays which give children the option to spend time around animals. Join in the daily animal feeding and experience the farming lifestyle by going out and meeting all the farm animals, all waiting to be pet and fed. It is especially exciting for all the children as they get to interact with the animals and learn lots about them, creating lifetime memories. By the end of your holiday they are proper little farmers. Every morning after breakfast, we feed our animals with the help of the young apprentice farmers staying. The very favourite activity is always feeding the chickens and collecting the eggs. Even our tiniest guests love our poultry and are brave enough to throw a handful of corn! There is a chance to hold them every morning too. We also allow our guests to keep the eggs they have collected for a fresh and authentic country breakfast Pigs There’s only one thing that our mischievous pigs love more than a mud bath – breakfast! And the only thing they love more than their normal breakfast is banana skins, so save yours up and watch them chomp them down. Chickens Little one’s love feeding the chickens. And seeing them crouched down with a pot of grain and a big smile, while our tame chickens contentedly peck away, always makes a great photo. All of our Chickens are ex-battery hens that we have rescued and given a new lease of free- range living Donkeys Daphne (brown and white) & Delilah (hairier grey one) are both rescues from the Donkey sanctuary in Sidmouth. Both adore the odd carrot, apple and their absolute favourite things are ginger biscuits. They also love to be groomed and tickled inside their ears! Parents have told us that their children are so excited after having helped us feed and care for the animals during their holiday that when they get back to school they write about it or even do a project on what they have seen and learned. It is always rewarding to see how much the children absorb in helping us feed the animals. By the end of their holiday they know exactly who gets fed, when, how much and a bit about general animal husbandry. Dog Friendly Cottages We are dog and pet friendly. Lower Whitsleigh Farm is set within 17 acres giving your furry friends room to roam freely. There are also a number of dog friendly walks, dog friendly pubs and dog friendly beaches nearby which we are more than happy to point you in the direction of. Our dog friendly cottages come equipped with a comfortable bed, a dog bowl, biscuits and a towel. The only thing we ask is that you don’t leave your dog unattended, or allow them on furniture or upstairs and to clean up after them. We hope your dog enjoys its surroundings as much as you do. Bees We started bee keeping 2 years ago and brought our hives of bees with us to Devon. The plan is to expand our colonies to increase the number of these amazing and important creatures in our environment. Soak Up the Peace and Quiet One of the most delightful things about Lower Whitsleigh Farm, so our guests tell us, is the chance to really unwind. There’s something wonderfully relaxing about reconnecting with nature; watching the swallows flitting over the meadows or the bees buzzing in the flowers; hearing birds of prey high in the sky, watching the barn owls at dusk or gazing out over the fields. Come night- time, when the dark sky is punctuated with millions of stars, you’ll succumb to a deep and peaceful sleep.
We are centrally located between Dartmoor and Exmoor. The sandy beaches of Devon's beautiful North Coast are easily accessible including Croyde, Westward Ho, Saunton or our favourite Putsborough Sands. Shopping, restaurants and the famous Tarka trail are accessible in the local Pannier market town of Great Torrington is just 4 miles away. For garden and wildlife enthusiasts there are a wealth of beautiful gardens nearby including RHS Rosemoor which is only a 5 minute drive away. For Families we have some excellent attractions to enjoy including the Big Sheep, Survival Paintball, The Milky Way, The Wildlife and Dinosaur Park and Air Extreme.

Sea Spray is our beautiful 23 ft sailing boat, which sits in complete seclusion in our Devon cider orchard. She has been fitted out with every home comfort for your glamping stay. You will have total privacy and your very own slice of wildflower meadow to enjoy, with stunning views over the surrounding countryside as far as Exmoor.
Our cosy little yacht is the perfect romantic retreat for couples who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life or for families looking for an adventure. Just you and the view, nothing but nature for miles around. There is no wifi and no TV, but we feel this really adds to the special atmosphere of staying somewhere so unique. Sea Spray has a triangular shaped bed in the bow end with an extremely comfortable memory foam mattress (kingsize width at the top). There is a hatch above the bed which opens so you can do a spot of stargazing before drifting off to sleep. Although Sea Spray comfortably sleeps two, you're welcome to bring a tent to pitch next to the boat for additional guests (please bring your own sleeping bags and pillows). In the middle of the boat is a separate living area, with two comfortable bench seats complete with blankets and cushions for cozy evenings playing cards or reading. We have stocked the boat with games and packs of cards and at the other end of the orchard our compost loo has its own little library bookshelf. Out on deck are more cushions for lounging outside. Guests can also spend the evening sitting around the bbq, which converts into a firepit.
Atherington village has a shop, church and children's playing field with bike track, swings and climbing frame etc. We have some lovely pubs nearby and many walking and cycling routes, such as Exmoor and the Tarka Trail. The beautiful beaches of Saunton, Croyde and Woolacombe are around 30 minutes away and the pretty market towns of Barnstaple, South Molton and Torrington are all around 15 minutes from us. North Devon has some fantastic tourist attractions such as RHS Rosemoor, National Trust Arlington Court, Clovelly and Baggy Point. Exeter City is just under an hour by train from our local station Umberleigh.

Our Glamping area has only two bell tents and the shepherd's hut. A stay at Moonacre Farm is the ultimate in relaxation, some people come and don't venture out during their stay as the environment is so relaxing - even the alpacas are very chilled out. The lake is close by which you are free to walk around and sitting by the fire at night watching the stars is highly recommended. At dusk watch the new babies running and skipping. When it's a full moon you can watch as the alpacas graze at night with their new babies close by. Our main alpaca herd live adjacent to the glamping area so they will be your nearest neighbours. The tent is suitable for two adults and two children, this makes sure that there is adequate space to enjoy the tent. I'm sorry to say that we feel that 4 adults would be too much for the capacity of the tent. Duvets & pillows & a large faux fur throw are provided but please bring your own bed linen & towels - the main sleeping area is made up of two 90cm mattresses so two fitted single sheets would be fine & the same size for the two camp beds. Please note that the bell tent is in it's own area. You will have your own kitchen area, outside dining area with a fire basket & eco loo in the enclosure with a shared shower nearby. Moonacre Farm is a tranquil place and we ask that our guests ensure that this may long continue. As the bell tent will be nearby our pregnant alpacas we hope that the sounds of the nature around will be sufficient for you & request that radio & music be avoided. Because of the proximity of the bell tent to the pregnant alpacas we also cannot accept dogs. The only other rule is to enjoy the Farm!

At Luckaborough Glamping, our charming shepherds hut is set in its own, self contained four acre field, on the highest part of the farm with stunning views across to Exmoor in the distance. With a wood burning stove for warmth, a fabulous outdoor area for dining and its own private wood fired hot tub, this is a romantic hideaway for two, or a cosy den for 2 x adults and 2 x kids.
The hut has a small kitchen inside and electricity for lighting, music and cooking. Just outside it has it's own shower and composting loo, recycling bins, picnic table, fire pit and there's a fridge in the shed next to it along with outdoor beanbag, cooking implements and pots for the fire pit. At the other end of the farm, we have 7 acres of private broad-leafed woodland to explore and a spring-fed swimming lake shared with the two other pitches on the farm. We provide a wheelbarrow of logs for the fires/hot-tub with each booking. If you need additional logs, there's a charge of £10 per barrow load and they can be picked up from the woodshed by the house.
While we're out in the countryside, there are shops 4 miles away in Torrington and it's only a short drive to the towns of Barnstaple and Bideford. Some of the best surf beaches in the south west are nearby, with Westward Ho, Croyde and Saunton all within a 30 minute drive.

From the ancient port town of Bideford the Trail travels inland leaving the wide rivers and their estuaries behind and follows bubbling streams through woodlands and flower-rich culm grassland before finally arriving at the edge of the high moor. The River Taw rises on Dartmoor and the Trail joins it and returns with it, passing through the gently rolling countryside to meet the Tarka Railway Line at Eggesford. The railway line is the final leg of the South Loop; criss- crossing over the twists and turns of the River as it heads back to Barnstaple. If you plan to walk the route, come and stay along the way. In addition the the Tarka Trail we have three Devon Wldlife Reserves within a few miles, one just a mile away. Halsdon Reserve holds many attractions. Open hillside pasture edged by gorse bushes, paths through woodland, riverside meadows, the deserted ruins of a water-mill, along with a fine stretch of one of Devon’s grandest rivers, the Torridge. One of the best places to spot otters. Meeth Quarry is unlike any other Devon Wildlife Trust nature reserve. Its industrial past has dramatically shaped its present. For nearly 100 years it was a series of busy clay quarries and mines. The legacy of this industry has created a very diverse landscape. Today, two enormous lakes and massive piles of clay spoil dominate its features. Elsewhere there are ponds, woodlands, bogs and grasslands. Together these make Meeth Quarry nature reserve a home for a diverse range of wildlife and a wonderful place for people to explore. Ash Moor nature reserve lies in the heart of the Culm Natural Area in north west Devon. It contains areas of high quality culm grassland, species rich meadows and restored species rich meadows. It has a strong colony of wood white butterfly, orchids, meadow thistle and Devil's-bit scabious and wet oak, willow and alder woodland. A number of new ponds, pools and shallow scrapes have helped to increase the reserve’s list of water invertebrates with dragonflies in great abundance through late spring and summer, hobby are often seen hawking these insects with great agility. If you enjoy cycling try The Dartmoor Way cycle route, which sweeps around the periphery of the Dartmoor National Park for over 90 miles linking many towns and attractions along its length, with an option to ride across the centre of the Park via Princetown. The Old Stable is well placed for getting into the car if you feel like exploring what Devon has to offer. Offering peaceful, beautiful countryside Devon is easily reached from other parts of the country and has much to offer a visitor. Dartmoor to the south has 368 square miles of fabulous, wild, moorland, where you can walk all day and not see another person, but you will come across Dartmoor ponies and sheep grazing the land. The rugged coastline of North Devon and Cornwall are within 40 minutes to an hour or so, where you can walk along cliff paths or enjoy the coastal villages, small bays and beaches. There are a number of stately homes and National Trust properties within easy reach, including Drogo Castle near Chagford, Arlington Court and the National Trust Carriage Museum, near Barnstaple, Hartland Abbey near Bideford and some places of interest such as the Finch Foundry at Sticklepath, the last working water-powered forge in England, Bideford Bay and Hartland, miles of unspoilt coastline which inspired Rudyard Kipling and Baggy Point at Croyde, with its dramatic cliffs and wild seas. Make a visit to Dartington Crystal at Great Torrington, and watch the craftsmen at work in the only major crystal factory in the UK. RHS Rosemoor is just 15 minute's drive away and well worth a visit to this beautiful garden. Beaford Arts support rural creative development and their programme of events, education projects, and photographic archive support the cultural life of rural communities throughout the local region. Here you can visit the archives and enjoy the wonderful photographs of James Ravilious. We can offer some wonderful places to eat out during your visit. With a mile of the property there are three great pubs, where you can enjoy lunch or an evening meal. The Rams Head and The Royal Oak in Dolton to the north and The Duke of York in Iddesleigh to the south, voted one of the top ten best pubs of the year 2014 and again in 2015 by CAMRA, and home to Michael Morpuro's War Horse Valley. Some of Michael's stories began over a conversation in the Duke of York! There are plenty of other good pubs within half an hour’s drive including The New Inn at Sampford Courtenay and The George and The Tally Ho! in Hatherleigh. The capital city of Devon, Exeter, is less than an hour's drive and well worth a visit. Sit awhile in Exeter Cathedral, dating back 900 years, it is one of England's most beautiful medieval cathedrals and one of the finest examples of decorated Gothic architecture in this country. Exeter's Historic Quayside is one of the most attractive areas of the city providing a fascinating mix of historic and contemporary design. It is the ideal place to wander through the shops, walk and cycle, take a relaxing boat trip or find something good to eat. There are plenty of good places to eat out and cultural activities to make an enjoyable day's visit.
Gracias :-)

Enjoy peace and breathtaking views across Devon countryside from a perfect isolated stone cottage. The place to rest and recuperate. Take a short drive to beaches, nearby towns and villages or walk through the kind of quiet only remote countryside can offer. Sleep in darkness lit by the moon and stars. Wake refreshed to birdsong, watch sheep with their lambs and enjoy pub lunches or eat in your own private garden. Relax in front of the log burner. Dogs and children welcome.
The cottages were originally stone farm outbuildings. The Cider House served the apple orchard which occupied what is now the paddock below the cottages. They are surrounded by fields sometimes with grazing sheep with their lambs. the peace and quiet is amazing. It is so quiet you notice the buzzing of bees, the bird song and even the rustle of leaves in the breeze. You may catch a glimpse of the owl and weasel. On a clear nigh its worth going out to look at the stars. They darkness and remoteness mean you will see a display far more fabulous than anything you can see in a town or city. A bridleway runs through the farm with occasional walkers passing. Books, DVDs, a TV and toys are in the cottage. There is a log burner and logs. The cottage in being refitted gradually so carpets, linen and some kitchen equipment is new.
The peace and the views are wonderful. Perched more than 450ft above the Taw valley, Hill Farm occupies an ancient east facing site sheltered from the prevailing westerly winds. Looking east across the valley the view takes in a sizeable chunk of this part of north Devon. Immediately below the cottages with the deep wooded valley of the river Taw which starts its journey some 25 miles due south, high up in the centre of Dartmoor. The valley is also home to A377, formerly the main road linking north and south Devon. Every so often you will hear and catch a glimpse of the two or sometimes just one carriage Tarka line train or rail bus clattering past on its Barnstaple – Exeter journey. Across the valley is the glorious Head wood, and beyond that the winding valley of the Moll – a river with an Exmoor source, and which the B3226 follows down from South Molton. Looking down to the right you can just make out Junction pool where the Moll joins the Taw. The village with it’s church steeple clearly visible beyond the hill of the Moll valley is Kings Nympton, about 3 miles away. Looking, left (north) and a similar distance away on another hill top is Chittlehamholt. Between these two and in the far distance is Exmoor and it’s second highest point - 5 barrows down (also called Spanhead) more than 16,000 ft up and some 13 miles away. Throughout the centuries the farm was an important one and home to significant local families. The current farmhouse was originally thatched but at the beginning of the last century suffered a fire where many of the internal features were lost. The cottage is surrounded by farmland. The area is criss-crossed by footpaths and bridleways. The local pub is a one mile walk from the cottage.

Orford Mill lies alongside the River Torridge in a beautiful wooded valley, nestled below the historic town of Torrington. With its air of peace and tranquillity, abundant wildflowers and river life, it became the setting for Henry Williamson’s magical story of Tarka the Otter. Indeed, the mill wheel in which Tarka hid from the hound Deadlock was at Orford Mill. This superb location makes a wonderful holiday base, especially for families, with sandy beaches on the North Devon coast only 10 miles away. The complex consists of a Grade II listed water mill and manor house, now converted into eight delightful cottages, seven of which are featured here, all equipped to Visit Britain ‘4 Star’ standard. Most overlook the charming ornamental courtyard with its ponds and flowerbeds. Riverside (ref HSF) is detached and overlooks the river. All cottages retain character features such as exposed beams and stonework, and each is furnished in an individual style to a very high standard. Guests can enjoy an indoor heated swimming pool, with lovely river views, as well as a fitness room and all-weather tennis court, games room and fenced outdoor children’s play area. In addition, fishing rights are available on 200 yards of river (bring own licence, or available locally at cost). All the waterways are fenced. The countryside around Orford Mill is dotted with sleepy villages nestled among the hills, while extensive woodlands, traversed by many footpaths, offer the chance to experience the area’s natural beauty at close quarters. Adjacent to the grounds are the renowned RHS gardens at Rosemoor, and other local attractions include Dartington Crystal, offering a factory tour and visitor centre. Great Torrington is only a mile away with good shopping and amenities, and there is golf at nearby Hartland. Orford Mill adjoins Torrington Common which extends to 365 acres, incorporating 20 miles of footpaths. The common is a haven for wildlife. The ‘Big Sheep’ and ‘Milky Way’ theme parks are each less than 10 miles away. The River Torridge runs downstream to the ancient port of Bideford, still with a working quay offering boat trips out to Lundy Island. Just around the corner is the attractive little town of Appledore with its colourful houses and narrow streets. To either side lies Devon’s most spectacular stretch of coastal scenery – a chain of magnificent cliffs and rocky promontories, interspersed here and there by long flat sandy beaches, where the Atlantic breakers roll in to create ideal surfing conditions. There are splendid beaches at Instow and Westward Ho!, the latter bordered by the Royal North Devon Golf Club, and the Northam Nature Reserve. Further west is the supremely picturesque Clovelly, whose narrow, cobbled main street descends at a dizzying gradient to the little harbour below. To the south, the cathedral city of Exeter can be reached via a delightful drive through lush river valleys. Orford Mill offers very attractive accommodation set in 3 acres of beautiful gardens with streams, waterfalls and the water wheel which is still operational. Excellent as a touring base, it makes a good choice for a holiday whatever the weather. Shop ½ mile.
