Lugares para alojarse en Saint Mabyn
Escape to the beautiful wilderness of the North Cornish coast, close to Port Isaac & Polzeath. Stay in a handcrafted shepherd's hut with curved ash beams & Salamander wood burner on a converted railway line. Relax in your own private hot tub with only the local cows for company. Or explore the nearby woods, go swimming, fishing & boating on the magical freshwater lake. A perfect break for couples or a solo traveller wanting to unwind. For updates check "Free Range Escapes" on social media
The shepherd's hut is based at Cornish Tipi Holidays/Weddings also known as Tregildrans Quarry and this is our beautiful second hut at this unique site. Both huts have their own individual character, the biggest difference is that Bluebell hut has its own wood fired couples hot tub - perfect for relaxing in style in the great outdoors. The site has a woodland valley folded around a clear, spring-fed lake created from the old quarry. The hut is at the top of a secret 20 acres clothed in ferns and bluebells, oak and meadowsweet. Undisturbed by modern agrochemicals and herbicides the natural ecosystem has flourished, providing a thriving habitat for flowers and butterflies, birds and mammals. It’s a place a world apart from the rush and clutter of the modern holiday experience, with an atmosphere that makes you forget the world outside, and just lounge, ramble, or potter about in a boat. The Shepherd's Hut itself is situated in a recently reclaimed part of the site on the old railway line which was taken out in the 60's, reclaimed by nature until now! Guests will have full access to the whole site & all its faculties. 20 acres of woodland to explore and a freshwater lake to swim, boat and fish in. As well as your own secluded garden space complete with an open fire and garden furniture & couples wood fired hot tub. The shepherds hut has its own private compositing loo and wooden shower shed (made partly from pallets) both outside. You are of course allowed full access to any of the other loo/shower blocks on site. There is also electricity!! Solar powered lights & USB sockets make it easy to charge items or read a book after the sun goes down. However please be aware that there are not any standard plug sockets in the hut. The aim is to have created a space which makes you feel like you are out in nature & the elements but with more comfort than basic camping.
At Free Range Escapes you are a five minute drive from some of the prettiest villages and most spectacular coastline in Cornwall. You can buy fresh mackerel, scallops and crab in the fish cellars at Port Isaac within 10 minutes of leaving your Shepherd's Hut, go sea kayaking under soaring cliffs at Port Quin or take a surfing class on Polzeath’s trend setting shoreline. We have some phenomenal walking right on our doorstep; the Cornwall Coastal Footpath, the Saints’ Way, but unfortunately a car is still usually needed to get you there. 15 minutes up the coast brings you to Tintagel Castle and the ancient village of Boscastle, and the same distance inland lets you walk the rugged solitude of Bodmin Moor. We have a variety of good shops, pubs and restaurants in the area including the now nationally famous Seafood Restaurant in Padstow – book a return with the late water taxi across the moonlit estuary from Rock for a special evening out. You can go on fishing trips, bird watching walks, sea safaris, sailing and windsurfing courses, learn to ride, golf, play tennis, see a touring theatre production, work in watercolours, take a master class in seafood cookery, explore Cornish history, attend a music or literary festival, or just go cycling together on the beaufiful Camel Trail nearby. If you’re prepared to go a little further afield try a day trip by tiny plane to the glorious Isles of Scilly off Land’s End, or a trip to the Minack Theatre set outside on the cliffs high above Porthcurno, or closer by visit the massive biodomes of the ever popular Eden Project.
No me decepcionó.

Stay in this hand-crafted Shepherd's hut that is hidden away in Primrose Cottage's beautiful garden. The Shepherd's hut has a toasty wood-burner, comfortable double bed and is self-contained with your own cooking facilities, ensuite bijou bathroom- complete with a shower.
This hut was made using reclaimed materials by myself and my good friend Mike. Since making this hut we have started a business together making shepherd huts called Pumphrey and Weston. In the hut there is a kitchen with single hob, wood burning stove, shower, toilet and basin. The double bee is a comfy memory foam mattress.
St Mabyn is a picturesque Cornish village, with a great pub, shop and church. It is located near to Polzeath, Tintagel, Rock, Port Issac and Padstow. The Eden Project is about a 30 minute drive.

Nosotros definitivamente vamos a volver.

:) ¡Gracias Byron! :) X

A warm welcome from us (and our dog Woody) await you in our cosy old terraced house, just 5 minutes walk from the centre of Wadebridge. Slate floors, beamed ceilings, quaint rooms and a pretty garden, your own shower room, along with a comfy bed/s and good wifi. There's plenty of shared space downstairs - a garden room, sitting room, dining room, and large kitchen you are welcome to use.
Kim & Guy invite you to come and stay in their lovely old terraced house in Wadebridge, in beautiful Cornwall. The house is Grade 2 listed and has lots of interesting history. The oldest rooms date from when it was a small detached farmhouse - 1770 we're told. It was then 'added on to' on either side to become part of a terrace (1800's). The kitchen ( and your bedroom above it) are the 'modern extension', built in 1901! We have a lovely beamed first floor double bedroom available, with two windows overlooking the garden. It's slightly separate from the other bedrooms in the house. We try to make it really comfortable, & have included the things that we appreciate ourselves when we go away. This includes things like a bedside table and lamp each side of the bed (most important!). Just outside the bedroom is a little private area with various teas, coffee, biscuits etc are provided - feel free to help yourself. There's also a little fridge for your sole use. Since the photo was taken we have upgraded the bed to a comfortable 5' King size, that can be split into two 2' 6" singles - just let us know on booking how you would like them made up. We've also added a table and chairs so you have somewhere to sit. There's a good internet signal in the bedroom, and an Amazon Echo Dot. If there are 3 of you travelling together, we can make up an extra bed on a floor mattress for an extra £20 per night. The shower room is almost en suite, next to the bedroom and again a bit separate from the rest of upstairs. It's 'sole use' while you're with us, and we provide towels on request. We also have a nice downstairs sitting room for your use, (with a TV/DVD), and a dining room off the kitchen with ceiling beams and a slate flagged floor. You are welcome to use our kitchen/diner. We know how expensive it can get when you're on holiday & have to eat out all the time. We only ask that you eat meals downstairs rather than in the bedroom. We're happy to lend wine glasses etc to take upstairs. You are welcome to use the garden. It's nice to sit out in the evening when the weather's warm. We also have a secure lockable shed in the garden if you bring bikes etc with you. We also have a studio in the garden where I make glass beads - these are for sale, or can be handmade to order while you're here. Or even better - learn to make your own 'flameworked' beads (£45 for a taster session of approx 3 hours) - and have something special to take with you when you leave! PARKING: Parking is on the road at the end of the terrace, or just up the road or round the corner. Just to note that particularly in high season, the road outside gets busier with visitor parking as we are so close to town. The road gets MUCH quieter after 6.00pm, so that is an ideal time to arrive. Having said that, we (and guests) have always been able to park within one or two minutes walk of the house. You can always pull in to the lane right in front of the house to drop off luggage, you just can't park there. If parking is a worry for you we're always happy to move our own cars for you to park. As an absolute last resort (we've never had to), there's a pay and display car park at the bottom of the road.
Wadebridge is fabulously located, just 6 miles from the stunning North Cornwall coast. It's a small, pretty market town, with a pedestrianised shopping street full of independent shops - lots of little gift shops, pubs, deli's and restaurants. From our house it's just 5 minutes walk down the hill into town, so no worries about drinking and driving if you head out in the evening. In the town itself, there's plenty of places to eat and drink. This includes several traditional Cornish pubs, Indian restaurants, Chinese take aways, tapas bars, pizzerias, and plenty of small independent cafes and restaurants. We're happy to give you recommendations! Wadebridge has a lovely park, and the River Camel runs right through the middle of town. Alongside the river, the Camel Trail runs all the way to Padstow, 6 miles away to the west, and Bodmin to the East. This is a traffic free trail specifically for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. It's a beautiful place to stroll as it overlooks the river and then Estuary, so it's popular with bird watchers and photographers too. There's plenty of bike hire places in town. Wadebridge also has a sports centre, and a twin screen independent cinema too, so there's lots to do in the evenings. If you walk up the road rather than down, you're in open countryside within 5 minutes, with plenty of public footpaths & quiet county lanes to explore. Within a short drive (8 miles) is the pretty fishing port of Port Isaac (of Doc Martin/Fishermen's Friends fame). The historic villages of Tintagel & Boscastle are just a few miles further up the road. The surfing beach of Polzeath, & the gorgeous beaches of Rock & Daymer Bay are 7 miles away. Padstow (7 miles) is a really pretty harbour town. It's home to Rick Stein and is well known for its fabulous range of restaurants. Again, you can safely cycle there from the house, and from there walk to a number of beautiful beaches. Many of the beaches face west so you can get amazing sunsets over the sea. Newquay, with good surfing beaches & nightlife, is 15 miles away. The Eden project approx 20 miles. We can tell you about lots of little hidden gems as well! Being fairly centrally situated in Cornwall, nowhere is very far away. A tour of Poldark Country down the A30 is easily do-able in a day. Obviously Cornwall is really popular in the summer, but personally we love it in the spring and autumn, when it's still mild, a lot quieter, and still as beautiful. And don't forget the wild winter waves....

Rose Cottage is situated about a mile from St Tudy a quaint Cornish village, the church around which the village was built was first constructed in the 6th century and then rebuilt in the 11th, 15th and latterly 19th centuries, the village has been built around the original Celtic circular raised graveyard - known locally as "God's Acre!" St Tudy is believed to be the birthplace of Captain Bligh of the "Mutiny on the Bounty" fame! The St Tudy Inn (formerly the Cornish Arms) will welcome you in for a refreshing drink, a hearty meal or both!Wadebridge was originally a market town. It has an amazing 15th century bridge with 17 arches over the River Camel, which is definitely worth a visit. It is said the bridge was built on wool as this was how the wealthy landowners in the area made their money. From the day the bridge was built the town became known as Wadebridge. The Royal Cornwall Show ground at Wadebridge hosts the county show every June, come rain or shine, opened each year by a member of the Royal Family. Cornish Farmers have had to diversify in recent years and so has the show, but they have kept their traditional roots with steam engines being shown next to the shiny new high-tech tractors. Bodmin Moor has engendered fear and awe throughout history and hence provided inspiration for writers, poets and sculptors. Standing stones, burial chambers, clapper bridges cottages and farms across the moor give a hint of the 4000 years of human development ever since Bronze Age farmers first arrived.Port Isaac is about 4 miles to the North West and this has recently been the base of filming for "Doc Martin" with Martin Clunes, there are a good selection of cafes shops and pubs. Further up the coast there are all of the golden beaches and coves between Polzeath and Tintagel with some of the best surf in Europe.Bodmin lies a few miles to South West and has a large selection of supermarkets, shops and restaurants.

Lamellen Lodge is situated about a mile from St Tudy a quaint Cornish village, the church around which the village was built was first constructed in the 6th century and then rebuilt in the 11th, 15th and latterly 19th centuries, the village has been built around the original Celtic circular raised graveyard - known locally as "God's Acre!" St Tudy is believed to be the birthplace of Captain Bligh of the "Mutiny on the Bounty" fame! It's not every day you get to see formation JCB digger dancing in the main ring. Both Wadebridge and nearby Camelford are centrally located in order to explore the nearby hills and moors. Wadebridge is the perfect base, being the half way point, from which to discover the Camel Trail, a walk and cycle track following the old railway route from Bodmin to Padstow. There is wonderful scenery and plenty of wildlife, including fantastic sightings of wading birds to see on this serene trail and bikes can be hired from Bodmin, Wadebridge or Padstow. From Padstow you could take a boat trip across the Camel Estuary to Rock, and lounge on the beautiful beach that stretches all the way around to Daymer Bay. The National Lobster Hatchery neighbours Rick Steins empire in Padstow. The National Trust have three properties nearby, Lanhydrock House, Trerice and Carnewas and the dramatic cliffs and beach at Bedruthan Steps. Or if you fancy something different try a tour around the Camel Valley Vineyard, Cornish Wine has been growing in stature around the world and their sparkling wines are truly stunning, having picked up lots of international awards, go for a tasting you will not be disappointed!Bodmin Moor is a couple of miles away to the East and is dominated by large granite tors which tower over sweeping expanses of moorland.

Withiel is situated about 5 miles from Wadebridge and 15 miles from both Newquay and Padstow. The Atlantic Coast of Cornwall offers some of the most picturesque and breathtaking scenery in the country with golden sandy beaches at 25 locations within 20 miles from Quince Cottage; these include Crantock, Fistral, Perranporth, Polzeath and Watergate Bay. Most of these are patrolled by RNLI lifeguards during the summer season. The coastal footpath delivers some stunning walks and incredible views through this dramatic section of coastline. Hustyns, the luxury spa and resort centre, is only 10 minutes away by car and offers day passes to the gym and swimming pool as well as a variety of beauty and spa treatments. There is also a first class restaurant. The golf courses of St Enodoc and Trevose are within easy reach. These days Newquay's excellent surfing waters are the town's main industry, whereas it once used to be a major export port for the county's mining efforts as well as a north coast port for pilchard fisheries. Fistral Beach holds many surfing competitions throughout the year, and also hosts Run to the Sun over May Bank holiday, a VW and Custom Car Show. Both the Women's and Men's Gig Championships are held here, as is a balloon festival and surf and lifesaving events. Newquay Zoo now houses 130 different species in sub tropical gardens in the centre of the town.Neighbouring Watergate Bay and The Extreme Academy offers you a 'ski resort on a beach' and a plethora of activities to keep even the most active occupied. Fifteen Cornwall, founded by Jamie Oliver in 2002, sits on top of the two mile beach at Watergate offering inspirational views for the young chefs and professionals to create fantastic menus from local and seasonal produce. The Lappa Valley Steam Railway just outside Newquay offers both the old and young an interesting day out. Newquay Airport has made the north coast one of the easiest places in Cornwall to get to, with regular flights from various locations across the UK. The town also has an Aquarium, a Waterworld and numerous immensely pretty beaches for the less active. Trerice, run by the National Trust and 3 miles outside of the town, is an Elizabethan manor house and garden with restricted winter opening times.Wadebridge, once a market town, is now more widely known as being part of The Camel Trail, the cycle route out to Padstow from the depths of Bodmin Moor on the old tramway route. You can hire a bike at the start of the trail and cycle to Padstow, now famous for being home to Rick Stein's The Seafood Restaurant, amongst others which the celebrity chef owns in the town. From Padstow you could take a boat trip across the Camel Estuary to Rock and lounge on the beautiful beach that stretches all the way around to Daymer Bay. The National Lobster Hatchery neighbours Rick Stein's empire in Padstow. The Royal Cornwall Show ground at Wadebridge hosts the county show every June, come rain or shine, and is opened each year by a member of the Royal Family. Flexible accomodation for up to 4 people in a suite of two rooms, with a large garden, located in a quiet traditional Cornish village, within easy reach of the coast and Bodmin Moor. Children and babies very welcome as we have a travel cot. On parle francais..... hier kann man auch Deutsch reden! Y yo hablo un pocito espanol!!
We can offer flexible accommodation in two bright and comfortable rooms in our modern bungalow in the charming village of St Mabyn. - one of the rooms has a very comfortable super-king sized bed, which can be converted into two single beds if preferred....this room also has a small sofa, a television and DVD player, a table and chairs, and can be used as a lounge and dining room. Tea and coffee making facilities are in the room for your convenience. - next to this room is a further room with a double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and dressing table. So for groups and families you can have a double bed and two singles, or two double beds.... if you can let us know when you are booking it will be helpful! Guests can also use our kitchen to prepare meals etc for themselves. We do not offer a cooked breakfast; however you are welcome to use the kitchen and we are happy to provide cereals, toast etc to guests. Visitors always comment on the very peaceful setting. We have a garden that guests are welcome to use to relax, play, or eat. There is a barbecue for your use if you wish! Visitors will have exclusive use of a shower room with WC ..... guests often comment on the great shower!.... and can share our kitchen if required. Please be aware that, whilst we do have room for 4 guests, we would only ever have one party staying.... you won't be sharing the bathroom with anyone else! We have a labrador dog who is very beautiful and friendly; we keep her out of the guest rooms! Some people are allergic to pets so you should be aware of her presence in the house. We welcome children and babies as we have a travel cot and a number of toys to keep children of various ages amused.... Duplo, Brio etc. We are located a few miles from the coast; Polzeath with its sandy beaches and stunning coastal scenery is about 20 minutes drive away and there are many other beautiful places to walk the Cornish cliffs within a similar distance. We are also close to Bodmin Moor and its rugged scenery, offering terrific walks and stunning views. The village of St Mabyn itself has a great pub with an excellent restaurant, a well-stocked village shop and post office, a church, and a park for children to play in. We are about 4 miles from the market town of Wadebridge with supermarkets and a great variety of individual shops. The famous Camel Trail is only 2 miles away, though it is a very steep ride from the trail back up to St Mabyn. The trail offers 16 miles or so of woodland and river-side cycling as far as Padstow, on a disused railway line, and bikes can be hired at Wadebridge. A car is pretty essential as there is no practically no public transport. The house is located in a short cul-de-sac so there is no passing traffic, making it vey safe and quiet. Ici on parle francais! On sera toujours tres content d'acceuillir des visiteurs francophones!

Bodmin was the former county town of Cornwall for many years and the only Cornish town to be recorded in the Domesday Book, which was lodged in the town's prison during the First World War. The county prison is now a museum and open to the public. It was the first prison in the country to have separate cells. The oldest part of the town is made up of mainly granite buildings clustered around the Bodmin Beacon. The Beacon is a 144 feet tall obelisk in memory of Sir Walter Raleigh Gilbert. The area around the Beacon which has woodland and traditional hay meadow was declared a Local Nature Reserve in 1994.Nearby Bodmin Moor, bisected by the newly expanded A30 is home to one of Cornwalls Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Reaching a height of 1,377 feet above sea level at Brown Willy, Cornwalls highest point. The heather covered granite moorland provides East Cornwall with the most stunning country views and rugged walks. Near Blisland you will find two of Cornwalls stone circles, the Trippet Stones and Stripple Stone Henge and just round the corner, one end of the famous Camel Trail. The 18 mile Camel Trail follows the route of the old railway along traffic free paths, providing a fairly flat cycle through Bodmin and Wadebridge out to Padstow, eminently suitable for families.

Our detached home is set in an acre of garden in a quiet rural hamlet 1 mile from the village of Chapel Amble and 5 miles from the pretty town of Wadebridge. We are ideally located to explore the villages of North Cornwall (Padstow, Port Isaac, Tintagel, Boscastle). The Eden Project is just under 40 minutes by car. Our nearest beach is Polzeath. Please note that although the tourist areas are easily accessible by car, you will need to use your car to get about due to our rural location.
We are a warm and friendly family with three young children aged 8, 7 and 5, four chickens and a cat. We like to live life simply and slowly and would love to welcome you to stay in our home. Our ground floor garden room is duel aspect and spacious with its own bathroom (with a good over bath shower) and private entrance. We can sleep 2 in a king size bed for the current listing price and there is a single bed available for an extra £10 per night. If you would like to use both beds in the room and there are only two people, there is a supplement of £5 to help with our laundry costs. The room is large enough to accommodate a travel cot / crib . We don't charge extra for a baby and can provide a travel cot if needs be. If you are a family with younger children, we are very accommodating and understanding - we have three of our own after all! Our home is an 'L' shape and the guest room is at the far end of one part of the 'L' on the other side of our 30ft kitchen / family room. Please note that although the room has its own private entrance and bathroom, it is not in a separate building. As this is an Airbnb home-stay you will be warmly welcomed into our family and during the day you will have the opportunity to meet our lovely and sometimes lively children. At night it is very quiet as your room is quite separate from our own bedrooms and lounge. We don't suffer from noise pollution here and our guests find that they sleep very well - the comfy bed gets great reviews too! We provide tea and coffee making facilities and a rustic breakfast of freshly baked home made sourdough, a selection of jams and tea or cafetiere coffee which can be eaten in the privacy of your room. The bread I make is good quality artisan bread and like all good things it takes time to make. It is more filling than your average shop bought slice of white and the fermentation process means its a much healthier option. I like to experiment with my sourdough so breakfast can include a mixture of sweet and savoury bread. My current favourite is chocolate, sultana and treacle! If you are looking for a full English breakfast we can recommend cafes in the area that provide this. The room we offer is ideal for anyone who would like a comfortable stay in a friendly home from home environment. We are a down to earth family and like to live in a low impact and low tech way, so if you want to be nourished by nature and get away from it all, this is the place for you! Our home is quirky, well loved and lived in and we guarantee you a very warm welcome and a taste of our life in this idyllic part of Cornwall. Our little hamlet has 8 houses and a very small dairy farm and is situated between the villages of Chapel Amble and St Kew. We don't have a pub of our own, but the surrounding villages do and they serve good food which makes them very popular particularly during the summer months (booking in advance is advisable during this time). Port Isaac (4 miles), Padstow (12.8 miles), Tintagel (9.6 miles), Boscastle (13 miles) are all easily accessible by car. Polzeath beach is our nearest beach and is a 10 minute drive from here and is very popular with surfers. There are several places there where you can hire surf equipment or book lessons. If you want to bring your own surfboard and wet suits we have space to store and dry them. If you are interested in something a bit different, we can provide private meditation sessions to our guests using the healing sound of the medicine drum. We can hold the session in the comfort of our lounge upstairs or in the kitchen if you prefer. Please let us know if you would like to find out more about this when you make your booking. DOGS You are welcome to bring your well behaved and child friendly dog with you (we can only allow one dog as there is limited space in the room). Our local beach Polzeath allows dogs from 1st October through to the start of Easter and there are plenty of dog friendly beaches in Cornwall all year round. Please note that we have three young (dog friendly) children, 4 chickens (in a run) and a cat, so yourdog will need to be happy to be around them. Also our garden is not enclosed and open to grazing fields (cows). There is an additional charge of £5 for your dog. If you would like to bring your dog, please message us first so we can discuss the arrangements and house rules we have in place.
We live in a pretty hamlet of 8 houses about 1 mile outside the village of Chapel Amble and 5 miles from the town of Wadebridge. There is a very small traditionally run dairy farm in the hamlet (with a herd of approximately 20 cows). The cows graze in the fields surrounding us and there are some lovely walks round the lanes where children can enjoy cow 'spotting'. St Kew with its popular St Kew Inn is just over a mile away in one direction and the Maltsters Pub in Chapel Amble is just over a mile in the other direction. Both pubs serve good quality food. Whilst you can walk to them the walks are on single track country lanes, so driving is advisable at night outside of the longer daylight hours. During peak season it is recommended to ring ahead to book a table as both pubs are very popular and get booked up quickly. Please note that we live in a rural area so do not have the facilities of a town or village, however there are shops in Wadebridge (5 miles away) including supermarkets (Tesco, Lidl, Aldi). Wadebridge is a pretty town with plenty of independent shops, cafes and restaurants. There are several good sized car parks to use in town. The Camel trail is fun to cycle along and there are plenty of bike hire companies in Wadebridge town. Rock and Padstow are nearby and there are many beaches and villages to explore in the area.

Wadebridge is a fantastic town and has more independent shops than anywhere in the country. It has a very personal feel and far away from the main stream. Often you will find me on a Sunday morning relaxing at many of the great independent coffee shops to choose from. The town has everything you could possibly need and of course right on the camel trail headed to both Padstow and Bodmin.

My house is in a Cornish village about 4 miles from Wadebridge. I have 2 spare bedrooms, a double and a single, and a private bathroom. It is a largish house with plenty of parking space and the village has a small shop/post office and a popular pub serving food. I am at home in Cornwall most of the year and look forward to meeting guests from other places.

The Linney is situated about a mile from St Tudy a quaint Cornish village, the church around which the village was built was first constructed in the 6th century and then rebuilt in the 11th, 15th and latterly 19th centuries, the village has been built around the original Celtic circular raised graveyard - known locally as "God's Acre!" St Tudy is believed to be the birthplace of Captain Bligh of the "Mutiny on the Bounty" fame!
