Gran lugar...

Leisure Cottage is a charming, two bedroom, stone built cottage in the heart of Kirkby Stephen. It sleeps 4 comfortably with the option of a pull out bed which sleeps a further two. There is off street parking, open gas fire, modern bathroom with underfloor heating and a downstairs cloakroom. There is a small outside seating and a raised garden with lovely views. Leisure Cottage is situated on a quiet road leading down to the River Eden so there is no through traffic. It is literally a stones throw from the river where our children spent many happy days feeding the ducks, skimming stones and getting wet .There are numerous walks ranging from gentle strolls to thigh burning climbs all without the need to drive. If you have transport there is Tan Hill inn the highest pub in England about a 20 min drive away and the Mallerstang Valley about ten minutes drive .If you are interested in wild life we have seen pheasant, grouse ,deer, hare, eagles, ptarmigan and red squirrels on our walks. In fact we believe there is a red squirrel family nesting near by as they are often seen running along the stone wall opposite the cottage. You may also see the large African parrots . Scarlett Macaws that frequent Kirkby Stephen .They roost nearby at the late John Strutts home but are often seen flying around particularly near the river The parish church is also well worth visiting, it is called the Cathedral of the Dales and parts of the structure date back to Norman times it’s a particularly impressive church for the size of the town . The cloisters are also an interesting historical feature. Kirkby Stephen is well served with eating and drinking establishments it is after all still a working market town with weekly livestock auctions , a real experience if you’ve never been to one !

The Cottage is situated in the quaint, rural hamlet of Hartley, just 3/4 mile walk from the popular Cumbrian town of Kirkby Stephen. This is a delightful, charming barn conversion. Both spacious, yet cosy. There is private parking at the front of The Cottage for up to 3 cars. Ideal for couples or families. Dog friendly.
The Cottage accommodates 4 people comfortably with two bedrooms and there is a double sofa bed in the living room should you need extra sleeping space. Dogs are considered part of the family and are very much welcome. We would love to know their names! The living room boasts a log burning fire, some logs will be provided and you can purchase some more from the village. The rear of the cottage looks out over the private, enclosed, terraced garden that is accessed by the back door. The dining area seats 6 and looks out over the rear garden. There is a well equipped kitchen and a downstairs cloakroom/toilet. Upstairs is the master bedroom with a double bed and a smaller bedroom with twin beds. There is a family bathroom with a shower and bath. We have indicated this cottage as not suitable for 0-2 years, this is due to there being no stair gates and there is no extra guard to the fire (other than its door). Your infants are welcome as long as you understand this risk. A travel cot can be provided if required and a high chair on request. Small person cutlery is provided in the kitchen. Treat yourself to a digital detox as there is no Wi-Fi here at The Cottage. The phone signal is good and you can get 4G in some parts of the house if you need a fix. Free Wi-Fi is available at some coffee shops in Kirkby Stephen. Hartley has an abundance of red squirrels, pheasants and small birds that are often found passing through the back garden of the cottage. Look out for the parrots!
A short walk away is Kirkby Stephen, a traditional market town of historic buildings, cobbled yards, quaint corners and interesting shops. It is on the famous Settle to Carlisle railway line. There is a heritage/information centre, café's, pubs, eateries, bakery and a superb Indian restaurant! Attracts both walkers and cyclists alike. Situated on the Wainwright’s coast to coast path with walks from the cottage ranging from quiet riverside walks and walks along the railway lines to fells including Eden viaducts footpath, the Poetry trail, Howgills and Dales, Hartley fell and the Nine Standards, Smardalegill Viaduct and Great Asby Scar. For cyclists, Kirkby Stephen is on the W2W (Walney to Wear) coast to coast route and the Lakes and Dales Loop nearby. There is electric bike hire in Hartley and a bike shop/bike repair in Kirkby Stephen. For those that are looking for heritage and culture, there are the castles at Brough and Pendragon and there are nearby villages of Winton, Nateby, Soulby, Ravenstonedale and Newbiggin-on-Lune - some within walking distance.

No podemos esperar a volver x

Augill Castle : much better than a hotel : unlike anywhere you have ever stayed before. In Cumbria's Eden Valley between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales, England's two most popular national parks, Augill is set in it's own twenty acres of grounds. Easy going, relaxed but still ridiculously romantic and decadently comfortable. We'll do everything we can to make you feel as if you have arrived as guests, and will leave as friends.
This is an estate house converted from the old stables and has its own garden, front door, turrets and castellations – your very own castle within a castle! It is equipped with a small kitchenette but is not set up for self catering or full meal preparation. A ground floor twin or superking bedroom, bathroom, and galley kitchen with a hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge. On the first floor there is a king bedroom and bathroom.
Augill Castle sits in the geographical centre of the British Isles in the stunning countryside of the Eden Valley. Sitting at the foot of the Pennines and surrounded by the Lakeland Fells and Yorkshire Dales, the castle has 15 acres of wild gardens, lawns, paddocks and flower beds. It is the ultimate English gentleman's retreat. Built as a folly by an eccentric man, the castle is a fine essay in Victorian castle building.

    Emma2019-04-22T00:00:00Z

A traditional market town of historic buildings, cobbled yards, quaint corners and interesting shops, ideally located in the beautiful Upper Eden valley, formerly the old county of Westmorland, now Cumbria. This is an area of Cumbria much less well known than the Lake District, but equally appealing. It is surrounded by a landscape of pastoral rural scenery and wild uplands and offers breathtaking views in every direction and has been part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, since 2016. Remotely located from large towns and population centres, Kirkby Stephen has developed a strong and self-sufficient identity and a vibrant sense of community. Surrounded by spectacular scenery, the ancient market town of Kirkby Stephen in the Upper Eden Valley enjoys an enviable position between the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District National Parks. The town is also close to the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Kirkby Stephen was Cumbria's first "Walkers are Welcome" town and winner of the prestigious title of Calor® "English Village of the Year", the town makes an ideal base for exploring not only the local area but further afield.  In summer the town is vibrant with floral displays and attractive gardens - helping to make Kirkby Stephen a Cumbria in Bloom winner.  This is excellent walking and cycling country and the area has an amazing range of flora and fauna, with four nature reserves within a 5 mile radius of Kirkby Stephen. Around the town are a number of attractive villages - Winton, Hartley, Nateby, Soulby, Ravenstonedale and Newbiggin-on-Lune - some within walking distance. Whatever the time of year, you'll find peace and quiet, wide open vistas and nature at its very best.  You may even see parrots belonging to a local Conservation Charity flying about the town sometimes - keep a lookout for them on roof tops and chimneys! They often like sit in the conifer tree in next doors garden or sit on the roof of the shops opposite. Kirkby Stephen has a number of narrow passageways waiting to be explored, some of which lead down to the River Eden. There are some lovely riverside walks and Franks Bridge picnic area is a delightful spot to spend some time. Stenkrith Park, on the edge of town is a natural park with a deep river gorge. * The Northern Viaduct Round  is a fully accessible path following the disused Stainmore Railway with viaducts. * Smardale Gill National Nature Reserve  (a Site of Special Scientific Interest) has a walk with a spectacular viaduct and old lime kilns * Enjoy an exhilarating walk up to Nine Standards Rigg - nine very old and unique mysterious cairns on Hartley Fell * Several long distance routes  pass through or near Kirkby Stephen, including: Alfred Wainwright's Coast to Coast, Lady Anne's Way, Pennine Journey, The Eden Way and Yoredale way * Poetry Path - Twelve poems are hand carved onto stone, celebrating a year in the life of a hill farmer, along a two mile circular route either side of the River Eden * Geocaching: Six Geocaches are available along the Kirkby Stephen Poetry Path and can be searched via the Geocaching website

Welcome to my home: a spacious, modern house in a quiet residential street just a minute's walk from Market Sq. Comfortable and nicely furnished, it's good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers. I also have an en-suite double room listed: www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/10759053
An airy, twin room with TV, drawers and hanging space for clothes. Cross the road from the house and pass through to Kirkby Stephen's main street for pubs, cafes & shops, a little art / culture, a small supermarket. But really you’re in the countryside: the Pennines and the Yorkshire Dales National Park are just minutes away on foot, as is the River Eden.

This is a lovely family bedroom in our rustic farmhouse style cottage in a peaceful village in the Eden Valley, Cumbria. The spacious room has 2 double beds, a washbasin and a cosy sitting area with feature fire, plus private tea making facilities
Our 300 year old rustic cottage has several rooms to rent from a single occupancy to large family rooms. Available to rent on a self catering, day to day basis with flexible check in. We may or may not be there during your stay but you are free to just make yourself at home and enjoy it. Rooms have tea & coffee making facilities and a hairdryer. Towel are provided.
Our cottage is set in a very quiet rural village on top of a hill with amazing views from all aspects of the property. The village is primarily a farming community, providing a peaceful setting to truly relax and "get away from it all". There is a children's swing park at the end of the drive, and a short path walk downhill to the lovely St Theobald's church, and a riverside walkway and picnic field. Sheep are generally grazing in the surrounding fields and there is very little traffic through the village. The gardens are popular with local wildlife including woodpeckers, owls and red squirrels. we even have the occasional visit from a local flock of parrots
Alex

Augill Castle : much better than a hotel : unlike anywhere you have ever stayed before. In Cumbria's Eden Valley between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales, England's two most popular national parks, Augill is set in it's own twenty acres of grounds. Easy going, relaxed but still ridiculously romantic and decadently comfortable. We'll do everything we can to make you feel as if you have arrived as guests, and will leave as friends.
DERWENT is a first floor permanent with two single antique brass beds (sleeps 2 adults or 2 children) in the North Wing, a huge room decorated in regal purple with poetry on the ceiling. It inter-connects with RAISBECK which has a king antique brass bed and fabulous blue William Morris wallpaper with butterflies. This suite of rooms share a beautiful bathroom with a claw footed bath and double basins Requests can be made for a particular room but we reserve the ability to move you between these rooms to accommodate other guests. You will have access to a galley kitchen for tea and coffee and may take a tray to your room if you prefer.

Three beautiful castle bedrooms all with original features which include painted eighteenth century oak panelling, perhaps a wardrobe inside a turret, a floor to ceiling arched Gothic window over the front porch or a bay window extending the entire width of the room. Antique and modern four poster beds, glorious bathrooms and views over the gardens. These rooms are not usually suitable for families although cots can be provided on request. You will have access to a galley kitchen for tea & coffee and may take a tray to your room if you prefer.
