All the conveniences of home in our little cottage! Our private home has 2 bedrooms + kids bunk room with expansive views over Somerset Lake and only a 2 mins drive to Kirkleigh boat ramps. This is a brilliant way to holiday with the family if you love water sports, attending a wedding at one of the great local venues or simply want a relaxing break!
You’ll be sharing the property (but not the house!) with the non-humans who live on site. Our alpacas Coffee and Cake, and the 5 chooks who will reward you with eggs in exchange for your food scraps.
The local campground (2km away) has mini-golf and a convenience store if you run out of milk or bread. Coronation Hall, a popular wedding venue is located 5km south of our home near the dam wall. Another popular wedding venue is Somerset Sunset which is about 5km north, towards Kilcoy. There is an IGA at Kilcoy about 7km away and if passing Yowie Park, a coffee from the Yowie Coffee cart is a must!

Lots of nature, animals & wildlife. Choose your preferred bed configuration of either a King or alternatively 2 Singles. A full timber kitchen, including a microwave, hotplates, mini-bar fridge, coffee maker and drink facilities are all available in the suite, to enable full privacy. A Pocket of Paradise … ‘AMARETTO‘, our almond room, is totally self contained with a beautiful timber kitchen in the Villa, rather than sharing the main kitchen as for the other Villas. This allows guests to whip up delights of their choosing in private. The suite is primarily designed, and most comfortable for, 2 adult guests, as there are only beds to sleep 2, but if extra guests are booked in there is a comfortable double-sized sofa bed that is a couch by day. Our fixtures and fittings are not really child-friendly, and so we prefer to cater to guests 15 years and over. We have decorated the Amaretto suite in gentle shades of almond, highlighted with red, purple and charcoal accents, giving a very exotic feel to the décor. A full timber kitchen, including a microwave, hotplates, mini-bar fridge, coffee maker and drink facilities are all available in the suite, to enable full privacy. All crockery, cutlery, glassware, cooking utensils, etc are supplied, along with all bedding and bathroom needs. These are all of very fine quality, for your pleasure. It is in fact a total 'KitchenAid' experience, with toaster, jug, saucepans and utensils all of this deluxe brand - teamed up with a luxurious Royal Doulton Chilli Red dinner set and crockery to match. Restaurant quality, but all for your own private use! If you don't want to be bothered preparing your own meals, you can eat out at some of the local restaurants. We provide a complimentary selection of teas and coffees, with wine and nibbles on arrival. The view from the Amaretto Villa is of pure nature, looking out across the land with the hills in the distance, and all of our unusual animals can be seen grazing around. Everyone who sees it is delighted. Amaretto is a short walk from the parking area with its own private access just across the small Japanese bridge, and includes a very large and private fenced garden area for outside relaxation. Relaxing in the private garden is serenity at its best; couple that with the view of the ranges encircling the whole property and you have an area that exudes peace and bliss, giving a relaxing peaceful area to sit and watch the kangaroos at sunset. Each suite has a brazier / fire pit outside which beckons you to sit in the warmth of the glowing coals and gaze upwards to watch the magic of the Milky Way overhead! The suite is decorated with a modern touch, coupled with a cottage feel, making the subtle decorator tones very easy on the eye. There is a full bathroom with shower and separate toilet - it is a dream with glass waterfall rain shower head and modern vanity basin. This lovingly restored Queenslander on a 400 ac working cattle property sits on a rise overlooking Mt Brisbane and is on the outskirts of the picturesque township of Somerset Dam Village. Only 1.5 hours from Brisbane It is centrally located between the townships of Kilcoy, Toogoolawah and Esk and the main attraction of the area is the Somerset Dam Spit 3 kms distant which abounds with day troopers and campers.
This house is situated 1 km from the frontage of Esk Kilcoy road, beside the Silverton creek on the edge of the Somerset Village township and its' quiet ambience and superb furnishings make it a place to unwind after a drive around the area, or to enjoy a few days of water activities with the family or friends. Enjoy the claw foot bath on the verandah for a unique experience. Quiet cows graze in close proximity and walks on the property are a must. When the weather is favorable the creek trickles towards the Stanley River, making it an ideal location for a picnic. Air conditioning is available in the family room and flows into the kitchen. Fans are in all other rooms. We'd ask of our guests that they respect the homestead and its surrounds as it has been a labour of love and a travel back to the early 20th century with its furnishings and fit out.
Our property fronts the Esk Kilcoy Rd which links Somerset village to the main thoroughfare to Esk and Toowoomba. Somerset village has one shop and a new adjoining small hotel is currently being built. Somerset Village is quite small and made up of many renovated fishing shacks and lately more modern abodes. The attraction of course is the Spit with its bar b ques and dam, making it a very popular spot for water sports and fishing. Opposite Silverton property is the camping ground which is a welcome spot for travellers and families spending weekends and holidays enjoying the dam highlights.

Walking distance to all local amenities including pubs and shops. You’ll love my place because of the location, the people, and the outdoors space. My place is good for couples and families (with kids).
Nestled at the base of the mountains with a beautiful natural bush setting you can hear the birds singing whilst enjoying a Latte from your decking. This is after you have had the enjoyment of being in the temperature controlled pool or enjoyed the relaxation in the spa.
Being in a small community makes the stay at Esk more friendly and helpful. We have many local attractions and various 1/2 day to full day drives for all guests and we are happy to impart our local knowledge of where to go.
