Lugares para alojarse en Walberswick
Quiet & relaxing, perfectly positioned for exploring the Heritage coast (and with an eclectic book collection!) "The cottage has been everything we could possibly have wanted in a holiday retreat - warm, comfortable, divinely pretty and romantic!"
Welcome to Mill End From May to the end of August our aim is to let weekly Friday to Friday, short breaks will be considered at short notice if we have no weekly bookings. From September to the end of April any booking will be welcomed subject to our minimum of three nights. Please note we have seasonal pricing so make sure you have entered the dates you want to stay to get the right cost Recently refurbished, with new kitchen and new double glazed windows. Upstairs is the large, light, south facing bedroom with king size bed, armchairs and a coffee table. There is a TV with DVD player and a selection of DVDs. The bathroom is adjacent with a bath and a shower. Downstairs is the newly fully fitted kitchen/living/dining room with TV. It is a small room but sunny in summer and cosy in winter. There is a sofa bed for the occasional guest(s). (£15 for linen or bring your own) The kitchen has an oven, microwave and a 4 ring hob with cover which acts as a splashback when open. There is also a larder fridge, a freezer, a toaster and, of course, a kettle. There is a downstairs WC. The cottage has oil fired central heating. Immediately outside is a south facing terrace with a large table and an electric awning. If you have friends/family in the area you can entertain up to 10. The awning can act as a sunshade or an umbrella so even if it is drizzling it is still possible to be outside. It's an extra room! There is parking for one car. You have an exclusive private garden area - south-west facing, with a table and chairs and 2 "rocking loungers" ideal for relaxing and sunbathing - see picture. The whole garden, of which this is part, is designed mainly for wildlife - shrubs, trees and many scented hip bearing roses.
The Suffolk coast has many attractions. We have wonderful sunrises as well as sunsets in our garden. We have good bird and wild life. We are 3 miles inland from Walberswick and Southwold and close to Dunwich and Minsmere with many good walks. As well as the White Hart in Blythburgh, which has wonderful views over the estuary, there are excellent places to eat in the surrounding villages (The Anchor at Walberswick and Mains at Yoxford are in the good food guide). The nearby cafe at Darsham Nurseries has had very good reviews for unusual dishes. There are a number of farmer's markets and shops close by. Blythburgh is famous for its large and beautiful church, known as "the Cathedral of the Marshes". Concerts are held here as well as at Snape Maltings (25mins drive) during the Aldeburgh Festival and at other times of the year. The Latitude Festival (mid July) takes place about a mile from the village.
  • Excelente lugar para quedarse! Buena ubicación. Fácil acceso a las atracciones cercanas. Muchos paseos locales disponibles.

This pretty holiday cottage is 3 minutes walk from a stunning swimming beach and in the heart of well known seaside favourite, Walberswick. Steps from a Gastro pub and a lovely village green with playground, shops and cafe. Perfect for romantic getaways & family holidays.
Spacious downstairs living room /kitchen with fully equipped kitchen and all mod cons. Great for dining and playing family games. The cosy sitting room features a log fire, perfect to snuggle down in winter. In summer the kitchen opens up to a garden with seating for 4 people , a beautiful spot to catch the sun's rays and read the weekly newspapers. The bathroom is located on the ground floor and the two bedrooms on the first floor. Both bedrooms feature convenient basins ,
This is the most wonderful traditional quiet seaside village with everything you ever need minutes away. The Tuck Shop is three minutes which has everything you need from washing powder to ice creams. The village green hosts a number of shops and a cafe serving delicious lunch and teas. If you walk 5 minutes from the cottage, you reach the river which can be crossed by traditional hand rowed ferry and then a lovely walk to the quaint town of Southwold. Or take the Kissing Bridge to cross over further down the river. There are some fantastic walks to Dunwich, Blytheburgh , across marshes filled with stunning birds. It's an bird watching and hiking paradise. Walberswick is famous for its crabbing. The National Crabbing Championships used to be held here until it became too popular. Children of all ages delight in catching crabs using a simple line, weight and some bacon. Of course we put them back after catching. The Shepherd's best haul has been over 100 in one sitting but we have had years of practice. And at the end of the day, The Anchor pub or The Bell Inn (both within a stones throw) offer hearty organic meals, great Adnams ales and wines or a yummy locally caught fish and chips.

Gracias.

The Old Lamp Room used to store the lamps for the lighthouse until it became automatic. It is now an annexe to the old Lighthouse Keeper’s Cottage, which is our family home. Guests have their own front door and are free to use the small front courtyard garden which has a bistro table and chairs. Situated up a small path, behind the lighthouse and moments from the beach. The high street with its shops, restaurants and pubs is a 5 minute stroll away. An ideal cosy bolt hole.
There is a kitchenette with table and chairs and a shower room. The kingsize bed is on a mezzanine level, accessed by a staircase. Please note that the head height of the mezzanine is restricted. An ideal small and quirky bolt hole for those looking to eat most of their meals out, but with space to prepare breakfast and cold meals, or even chill a bottle of wine.!

Deep enough in the woodlands to be the perfect retreat where you can relax in the fascinating countryside of Walberswick.

Nôrs Lodge is my home and I will be delighted to share my guest wing with you so that you can make the most of this wonderful part of the country. Location >>>> Nôrs is up a very quiet but easily accessible lane which is not a through road so with limited traffic. When you arrive, there is plenty of off-road parking space, and a separate private entrance to the guest wing. Airy & Open >>>> The guest wing has plenty of glass frontage, so the space has a light and airy feel. Access is through French doors to a small hallway, off which is the bedroom and kitchen/diner. Layout >>>> Please note this listing is for just the guest wing - there are two other listings, one for the main house without the guest wing (sleeps 6), and one for the entire house with guest wing (sleeps 8+). See the floor plan in the pictures for the detailed layout of this listing. Hallway >>>> the entrance hallway has a glass French door front and entrance. Within the hallway is a large set of cupboards but these are retained by the owner for household equipment, supplies & linen. Plenty of hook space for all the outdoor clothing! Bedroom (en suite) >>>> The guest wing has one large bedroom with super king bed, built in wardrobe, calm colours, wafty linen curtains and a compact sofa. There is an en suite shower, basin and loo to create a very tranquil and private sleeping space. Kitchen/diner >>>> the kitchenette is actually quite large, well equipped and has a small table and chairs for two guests. There is a full height fridge/freezer, a combined free-standing hob/grill/oven, a separate microwave oven, kettle, toaster and Nespresso coffee machine. There is crockery, cutlery and glassware for four guests, and a 1.5 size basin/drainer, with ample worktop. There is plenty of space in the kitchen to store supplies for your stay, and for your convenience I provide some basic cooking supplies to prevent you having to bring with you (oil, salt, pepper, and a few dry ingredients); there is a great shop and separate deli in the village to get further supplies. There is a Miele washing machine in the kitchenette too, which normally belongs to the main house, but feel free to use it! Sorry, no dryer. Extra Loo >>>> Off the kitchen there is a separate and recently refurbished separate WC/wash basin. PLEASE NOTE: There is no separate living room in the guest wing. There is a small two-seater sofa in the bedroom to relax on, and of course the table and chairs in the kitchen. Outside >>>> there is a sweet little front garden enclosed by a wonderful copper beach hedge. There is a cafe table and chairs for four just outside for those all-important sunny breakfasts. (Access to the back garden is just for the owner or for guests in the main house). General Facilities >>>> I provide one set of linen for the bed, bath/hand towels, and separate beach towels (in the summer). If the duration of your stay is longer then arrangements can be made for a linen change mid-stay for a modest extra charge. For the colder times of year, there is underfloor heating in all rooms which works off an air-source heat exchange system. The guest wing can be made beautifully cosy in the winter months. Fibre broadband with Wifi is provided and there is a separate booster for the guest wing to ensure a strong signal. Sorry there is no television set, but the fibre broadband will allow you to use your own devices for entertainment. The Beach is a brisk walk or quick cycle ride away - it has lovely dunes and the sea makes for a great swim! The Walberswick to Southwold rowed ferry - is near the beach and gets you to the Southwold side of harbour in just a few minutes (seasonal). Crabbing bridges - are also near the beach and kids love to try and out-catch each other and brag about it for days after! The Tuck Shop (village Co-Op) - is just a few minutes’ walk (or super quick cycle ride) and it sells all the basics, fruit, bread, wine, beer, household items, etc. The Black Dog Deli - is a few paces further on from the shop - it sells wonderful fresh bread, pies, quiches, pastries, vegan options, wines, coffee, etc. Arrive early to get their amazing croissants! The Anchor Pub - is on your right as you walk/cycle through the village and serves wonderful real ales, great wines, and has superb gastro style food*. The Bell Pub - is just beyond the Green (near the beach) and has more traditional pub type food, with lots of locally caught fish options*. * Both pubs cater for all types of dietary requirement - veggie, vegans, kids, etc. and both pubs regularly have special dish events and fun nights. The Village Green - is the hub point of the village and has children's play equipment. Around the Green there are a number of gift shops, coffee/tea rooms, a fish shop and the all-essential supply of ice creams! Beach parking - there are three separate car parks near the beach and river for those who don't want the walk/cycle or for those with reduced mobility. The car parks apply charges during the summer months (Apr - Oct) Walks - there is the most extraordinary array of walks & cycle paths around Walberswick, covering a huge variety of habitats - beach, marshes, breckland, river estuary, meadow, woodland and more. The nature and wildlife is to die for, so bird-watchers, walkers and ramblers will be in 7th Heaven. There is a beautiful and easy 30 minute walk (15 mins bike ride) to Southwold from Nôrs along the old railway line, over the Bailey Bridge and across the golf course (or along the harbour). Rush Cabin is in the rear garden of our cottage, on a rural lane just outside of Southwold. It is a nicely proportioned, self-contained unit in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with delightful, unspoilt views of the Benacre Marshes and the sea in the distance. It has heating and air conditioning. Guests have off-street parking for one car and everything you need for a peaceful break - with beautiful Southwold just down the road. We have solar and use a renewable-only energy supplier.
Welcome to Rush Cabin. Our cabin centres around a main space with lounge, dining area and a sleeping area with a kitchenette (with two ring gas hob and combi-oven/microwave). It has a fridge freezer, sink etc and a small island unit for preparing food. The cabin has a double sofa and a double bed in the main space, you have a distinct area for sitting, dining and sleeping. The cabin has a small dining table inside with 3 chairs. For families who request 4 guests, we can provide an additional chair on request and an extra child's 'z-bed' for the floor of the main space. There is a hanging rail for clothes, a TV and a variety of storage units. The cabin has a bathroom with toilet, sink and shower. There is a small separate bedroom with a single fold-away bed and a set of drawers, the bedroom is decorated for a young guest but can be used for an adult. Please note the fold-away bed is adult size but not a permanent single bed. It is a 'put-you-up' bed with an extra memory foam layer for comfort. We've had guests of all ages sleep on it happily but we just want to flag it's not a normal single bed. The bedroom will fit 1 guest, if you are a family of 4, be aware one of the children will be accommodated in the main space with you. From the cottage and cabin, we often see Muntjac Deer, pheasants (normally in the garden), owls, Buzzards, Marsh Harriers, bats, hares and rabbits by the dozen. Keep your eyes peeled for nature spots. The stars at night are spectacular as we don't have much light pollution. We allow guest parking on the drive for 1 car. There is a WiFi network in the cabin (details are in the house manual for guests). We provide bed linen and towels for all guests, plus all of the essentials listed the amenities section.
We live on a quiet, rural lane on the outskirts of Reydon, which is the village next to and connected to Southwold. The cabin has stunning views of an RSPB reserve, fields and the sea and provides peace & quiet away from the crowds of town.
  • ¡Guauu!

Muchas gracias! xxx

2 Hall cottages is set in the beautiful suffolk countryside 2 minutes from coastal town of Southwold. The cottage backs onto Reydon woods and is a quiet peaceful place to stay. The bathroom is downstairs and I do have two sweet little doggies. Plenty of parking and bus route to most other towns and villages. Directions; Coming from the A12 take the Wangford turn off and follow the road for 1.5 miles my 2 Hall cottage is the middle one of three opposite Wexford House.
Cosy cottage offers a friendly, relaxed and happy atmosphere like a home from home.
I live in a lovely little Hamlet with just 7 properties so quiet, countryside views and it is an area of out standing beauty.

Definitivamente me quedaría otra vez

    Elaine2019-09-03T00:00:00Z

A wooden deck wraps around the house so you can simply chill and enjoy the hot tub, fishpond, tranquility and wildlife; or explore the Suffolk countryside, seaside towns and coast close by. Sleeps 6 I 2 King Bedrooms I 1 Twin Bedroom I 1 Bathroom I 1 En Suite Shower Room with Separate Bath
The light and airy living/kitchen/dining room sits at the heart of this characterful property - cosy in the winter thanks to the wood-burner with cooking chamber; perfect for indoor/outdoor living in the spring and summer with wall of glazed doors opening onto the deck. The original beamed wooden ceiling remains from days gone by when the property was a coach house where the horses and coaches could be taken into the pond for cleaning. All three bedrooms are generous and stylish, with the master on the ground floor being particularly lavish with grand four-poster bed, free-standing bath and en suite shower room. Fascinating artwork belonging to the prominent art collector owner is displayed throughout, this superb accommodation. Fishpond House sits in an exceptionally tranquil spot on private land, conducive for total relaxation on a short break or holiday with friends and family, with just the owners house, peacocks and frequent donkeys for neighbours! The hot tub gives the ultimate in decadence, sitting on a deck furnished for dining in the dappled light filtering through willow trees overhanging the pond. Ground Floor To the right of the hallway is the master bedroom with double doors to the deck and door to the shower room. There’s a step down to the main living area and open tread stairs to the first floor. Reclaimed wood flooring from a gymnasiam runs through the house. Living Space Step into the hallway with cubby holes for your footwear, hooks for your coats, an open treadstaircase to the first floor landing and a step down to the living space. The area is cleverly divided with traditional kitchen units running along one wall with a built in oven, four ring ceramic hob, upright fridge/freezer (four drawer), built in microwave and a washer dryer. The unique dining table sits in the light by the windows with six spindle back chairs; a gorgeous wicker hanging chair is positioned so you can curl up with a good book or simply gaze at the view. Furnishings are sumptuous with a chic velvet sofa and chair, footstool and retro-mirrored coffee tables, all snuggled around the TV and wood-burner where you’re sure to have some fun making toast or baking a potato in the cooking chamber. Master Bedroom Simply gorgeous with the four poster bed taking pride of place beneath the double height beamed ceiling, opposite double doors to the deck - convenient for the hot tub! The luggage rack invites you to unpack with a corner unit providing hanging and shelf space. Additionally there’s a bookcase and desk/dressing table with chair under the window. For added indulgence there’s a modern free standing bath in the corner of the room with hand shower. En Suite Shower Room The double shower cubicle has a rain and hand shower; there’s a WC wash-basin and heated towel rail. First Floor Open tread painted stairs rise to the first floor where both bedrooms and the bathroom open off the landing with desk and chair. The first floor also has wooden floorboards and beautiful beamed ceilings. Bedroom Two The Juliette balcony is a special feature in this room that has a king-size bed, side shelves and plus a cupboard with shelves for your storage and hooks on the door if you’re wanting to hang some clothes. Bathroom Conveniently between the two bedrooms. Natural light from a skylight above the bath floods this charming bathroom with its feature Victoria and Albert claw foot bath, reclaimed sink, WC and heated towel rail. Bedroom Three Wake to the view of the pond and fields beyond. Twin beds sit either side of the door with bedside units and there’s storage in a wardrobe with hangers and a shelf. Outside Fishpond House sits on a private estate with an uneven private drive taking you past fields and round the back of the property where you'll find parking for two cars and an external plug for anyone needing to charge an electric car. A wooden deck wraps around two sides of the house, overhanging the pond on one side, with furniture for outside dining and doors from the dining/kitchen area making it easy to eat in the open air. The hot tub sits on the deck at the side of the property, conveniently close to the master bedroom. At the side is a lawn with graceful willow trees rustling in the breeze however, due to the grass being sown in the winter, the area's not well established as yet.
This substantial holiday house is in a great location for exploring all that the picturesque Suffolk Coast has to offer, with fashionable Southwold just six miles away with a sandy beach, iconic pier and excellent range of shops, eateries and, for beer lovers, home to the famous Adnams Brewery. From a practical perspective, the market town of Halesworth is just three miles away, with a good selection of both independent shops and supermarkets, a railway station with connections to Liverpool Street and The Cut Arts Centre with a two-week arts festival in the autumn. Halesworth Golf Club is close by, there are plenty of amazing walks and cycle roots, fishing and sailing close by.

Fresh fish can be bought from the fish huts along the harbour. Southwold is home to the Adnams Brewery and the town's excellent pubs include one of our personal favourites, The Lord Nelson where you can try a range of Adnams bitters.

Walberswick is a beautiful, unspoilt village situated at the mouth of the River Blyth. There are no amusement arcades or candy floss to be found, but families seeking pleasure in the peace and quiet of the beach, river, marshes and heathland will find it here. Perhaps one of the most iconic views of Walberswick is that of its fishermen's huts and houses on stilts. They were once far more numerous, but the great storm of 1953 washed many away and the picturesque Tea Rooms was last seen floating merrily away down the river.

Southwold South Green Area – Properties here enjoy one of the best locations in town. From many of them you can look across South Green towards Gun Hill and the sea and the properties are within minutes of the market place, with the elegant Swan Hotel, an excellent range of small shops including a greengrocers with fresh local produce, family butcher and delicatessen. The popular Red Lion Inn overlooking South Green is even closer. Secluded and peaceful, Southwold Denes is an ideal retreat for walkers and nature enthusiasts. The town of 'Southwold' on the East coast of England is the Jewel in the crown of East Suffolk seaside resorts. It is a tranquil place, a peaceful haven, holding its own elaborate history. The popular common area was donated to the town by Thomas Godyll in 1509, and was in itself a monumental act, and it has been preserved through the years. Today it is one of the most widely used areas, and is home to the golf, football, and rugby clubs. Southwold was incorporated in a charter of Henry VII in 1489, and is an ancient town that remains remarkably un spoilt. In 1659 a devastating fire destroyed much of the borough, with the resultant rebuilding work creating the distinctive Southwold 'Greens' as fire breaks in case such a disaster should reoccur. Beneath these greens it is believed that some of the ruins of the properties destroyed in the fire may still be found. Southwold has a superb award winning beach, and one of the country's most famous piers. The pier built in 1900, was devastated by a severe gale in 1934 when the force of the storm destroyed the head of the pier. The pier was further damaged during the second world war, and for many years was a shadow of its former glory. Following a major refurbishment by its present owner, the pier has seen enormous visitor numbers and has served to reverse the former declining interest in coastal piers. It represents one of the many highlights of the town. As we stand on the beach beside the famous beach huts and the pier looking out across the North Sea we are reminded of one of the most famous sea battles to be fought off of our coast. The battle of 'Solebay' was fought in 1672, it was a monumental struggle. The English and French fleets clashed with the Dutch just off shore. Within the English and French fleets there were a combined total of 71 warships with the Dutch totaling 61 vessels. The total number of men involved in this battle is said to have been 50,000. The brother of Charles II, James Duke of York was the admiral of the English fleet, and took up residence in Sutherland House. There still remains links to the Dutch within the town, possibly one of the finest examples is to be found at the museum in Bartholomew Green, which is a grade II listed building with Dutch gables. On Gun Hill, (again overlooking the sea) you could not fail to be impressed by the eighteen pound cannons. It is said these guns were given to the town in 1746 by the Royal Armouries, as a protection to shipping against raids. The last known firing was in 1842 to celebrate the Prince of Wales birthday. Tragically whilst re-loading one of the cannons, a man was killed by an explosion. Southwold (like many towns) was bombed in the 1914-18 war. The German army considered that Southwold might be a 'fortified place' because of the Cannons on Gun Hill. The cannons were subsequently buried during this period. In the second world war the guns were concealed. Southwold has three dominant landmarks, when approaching from inland, the huge water tower is the first of these visible, others being the tower of the parish church of St. Edmund's, and the magnificent whitewashed lighthouse. The first water tower built in 1896 was replaced in 1937 by a 150,000 gallon building. The parish church of St. Edmund's (1460) was established on the site of a far older church dating from 1200. The lighthouse which commenced operation in 1890 is located near East Green. It replaced the original wooden structure at Gun Hill. This present 101 foot high tower was originally illuminated by paraffin, being converted to electricity in 1938. This superb building is one of the most photographed shoots in the town, being visible from many locations. Southwold has an array of fine pubs, restaurants, and tea rooms. The famous Adnams brewery also forms part of the towns history. Adnams has recently opened a brand new 'cellar and kitchen' wine store, on the site of their old distribution centre. Beer is still brewed in Southwold today, and has been brewed for more than 300 years. Southwold has an exquisite harbour, and is a delight to visit. It was once a very busy fishing port, and it is recorded in the doomsday book, that Southwold was a prosperous fishing port in the 11th Century. There are still a variety of inshore fishing vessels operating from the harbour, with fresh fish regularly on sale along the Blackshore area. There are regular ferry and river trips available. The Harbour Inn is quite renowned, and serves excellent food. Harbour Marine Services, along the shore offers a comprehensive Service to all vessel owners. At the Harbour entrance you will find the Royal National Lifeboat Station, again with its own history of rescue from the sea. The spectacular views are a magnet for artists.

    * A fabulous place to self isolate * If you are looking for a long term rental (I.e six months) please get in contact to discuss. Super cute one bedroom barn with plenty of natural light, beautifully decorated and with a private garden courtyard. The Studio is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on a gorgeous leafy farm only 5 minutes from the seaside town of Southwold.
Newly converted, The Studio at High Wood Farm offers an escape from the hustle bustle of daily life. Situated on a quiet country lane tucked away from prying eyes, this one bedroom little slice of paradise means you can relax and recharge your batteries whilst enjoying some stunning local countryside. The popular and picturesque seaside town of Southwold is a mere five minutes away by car or if you fancy it, a 15 minute bike ride. Beautifully decorated with all your comforts in mind, this bijou little gem sits in its own grassy private courtyard with a large decking area where you can sit out and enjoy the fresh country air. The Studio offers privacy and is not overlooked by others. The decor is modern Scandinavian and as such it is full of light and warmth. (If you are at all light sensitive, it might be worth bringing an eye mask). The bed is super comfortable and the en-suite bathroom offers a bath with shower as well as a hand held shower head. We should point out that we are on a septic tank and therefore nothing bar natural waste should be put in the loo. There is hanging space for your clothes and we provide a hairdryer. The sitting area has a two seater sofa with a woollen blanket, some cushions and a cowhide rug on the floor. There is a smart TV. We provide some books, games, packs of cards and local maps. There is a breakfast bar with two stools to enjoy your breakfast at. We provide fresh bread, eggs, butter, a small selection of jams, and some other treats or two. The kitchen is fully equipped with a toaster, kettle, oven/microwave combo, radio, dishwasher and fridge. We have tried hard to make it a little home from home but if you are missing anything essential please just let us know and we will do our utmost to help. The outside decking area has two chairs, and a log for a table. It is a lovely space to sit out in the sun and in the evenings the outside lights light up the brick courtyard showing the original farm building in all its glory. Given that we live on a farm, there are animals about - we have horses, a farm dog, Jarvis, who is very lovely and super friendly and who likes to pay the odd visit, some beef cattle and the occasional chicken. We also have bees, insects and birds - we live in a diverse little community and we enjoy the odd noises and smells that sometimes come with living in the countryside. On the whole, it is a beautiful and lovely place to stay. It is very quiet and a great place to come back to at the end of a busy day for a glass of wine/beer or gin and a restful nights sleep.
Southwold is our nearest town and is super popular with old and young alike. It has fabulous beaches, a wealth of restaurants and pubs, lovely walks, the pier, the harbour and plenty of great activities for everyone to enjoy. Other places of note are Walberswick, Dunwich, Aldeburgh, Snape Maltings, Framlingham and it's castle, Norwich an hour to the north and Ipswich, an hour to the south.
