Situated on a small acreage, overlooking farmland on the outskirts of Maryvale, half way between Brisbane and the Stanthorpe Wineries and with sweeping views of the Goonburra Valley, Ombu is the perfect base to explore the Scenic Rim and Southern Downs, or chill and watch the wild life and gaze at the Milky Way. Only 10 minutes from Cunninghams Gap and Main Range National Park walks. A short walk to the historic Crown Hotel.
Open plan Lounge, Dining and Kitchen. Sweeping views through large bifold doors, allow easy viewing of birds and wildlife. Nesting boxes for the Rosellas and Red Rumped parrots ensuring regular visits from these delightful birds. A local bird enthusiast tells me he has spotted close to 150 different bird species. There are usually Swamp wallabies on the back lawn in the evenings and early mornings and there is a spotlight provided for nocturnal wildlife spotting. Ombu is also far enough away from the city lights to view the Milky Way clearly. Retro furnishings. Ceiling fans and a pot belly stove.
Maryvale is a small town just over an hour and a half from Brisbane. We have a Pub, The historic Crown Hotel and a corner store/cafe. Just 5 minutes up the road is Bestbrook Mountain Resort with Horse rides, farm tours and a resaurant. Across the road from there is Gap Creek Moto where there are a range of motor bike activities for children and adults. Spicers Peak Resort is a 25 minute drive to truely spectacular views, a day spa, five star restaurant and walking trails. Just 10 minutes to Main Range National Park and Senic Rim Walking trails. 25 miniutes to Warwick. If you are bringing food supplies, there is a good fruit and vegetable market, Bakery and butcher on the highway at Aratula (before you cross the range). In the kitchen there is a Juicer, a Bullet, a bench top oven, Coffee Peculator, a stove top Expresso, a milk creamer (for latté), Toaster, Jug, Microwave & Sous Vie, Various pots and pans and serving dishes and implements to orchestrate them with. Might help to know your tools if your deciding what to bring. Otherwise the Crown Hotel does a very reasonable and tasty meal and only a 10 minute walk. Breakfast, lunch and expresso coffee available at the corner store on the highway.
  • Looking for somewhere central in the Scenic Rim-Southetn Downs, look no further. Suzy's place at Maryvale was fantastic. Think retro-groovy and comfortable with lots of trimmings. There were beautiful fresh eggs in the fridge, along with condiments, milk, tea and coffee, toiletries and much more. A great price and a super country pub within walking distance...what more could you ask for! We'll def be back. Thanks Suzy!

Merrilees is one of Queensland's more beautiful colonial homes, lovingly restored. Situated on half an acre in the town's centre with a short walk to restaurants, cafes and the Condamine, you will experience the best of 1880's architecture, resting in a tranquil, tree-filled garden. Merrilees explodes into leaf in spring and summer, changing to vivid autumn tones of pear, apple, plum and grape. The 'Ent' inhabited yards of winter delight the senses. We welcome people from all around the world.
Our home is located on a corner just south of the town centre, a one minute drive from the bus station and Post Office - easy to find with our lovely wide streets. Just let us know when you are arriving and we will help you find our house. We would love to provide you with some welcoming goodies when you arrive and then offer toast, cereal and fruit for breakfast, along with tea and coffee. There is a fridge in your room and also a toaster and kettle for your convenience. Although the bedrooms are able to accommodate 4 guests very comfortably, the ensuite bathroom is not large and is located in the main bedroom. Therefore the guests in the second room need to come into the main bedroom to use it. Consequently our rooms are most suited to a small family group or intimate friends. It is possible to erect a fold away king single bed to sleep a further guest if required.
Merrilees is in a residential area on a street lined with character homes typical of the Queenslander style of an earlier era. This is a great place to stay while exploring the Southern Downs. Come for the last week in July for our Jumpers and Jazz festival which attracts international exhibitors. We have great cafes and a boutique beer restaurant within minutes walk. There are many food and wine venues round Stanthorpe to visit or perhaps you would like to go on a steam train ride on the Southern Downs Rail. You can go hiking in the Great Dividing Range at Goomburra or climb Mount Cordeaux and Mitchell at Cunningham's Gap. Warwick is known for International Polocrosse games and Horse Trials, the Warwick Gold Cup Campdraft and Rodeo and hosts regular Sporting Car events at Morgan Park Raceway. There are many sealed roads leading out into the rural landscape which provide excellent cycling opportunities for those who want to go for an extensive ride. The Condamine River Walk through town provides beautiful parks to stroll, run or cycle around.
  • Thank you Susie and Steve. The room was beautiful and so warm and homely. We felt very welcome. Susie went to extra effort to make our stay lush and relaxing. We especially loved the soaring pressed metal ceilings, comfiest bed in all of Warwick and delicious muesli with fresh berries for breakfast

    Matt2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • An authentic experience for anyone wanting to stay in a fully renovated Queenslander and experience life as it was in the 1880"s. It is complete with stunning rooms, elegantly decorated, with beautiful soft furnishings, high pressed-metal ceilings with original roses, spacious balconies and true Australian hospitality. Susie was at the front door to greet me, (even though I arrived later than the usual check-in time), gave me a tour of this charming home, and then offered me wine and dinner! I very gratefully accepted her generous hospitality, as I have worked all day then had a long drive to Warwick. The room had a kettle and tea and coffee, toaster, fridge, fresh fruit, fresh milk, yoghurt, homemade marmalade and everything for a continental breakfast. This was well and truly above and beyond my expectations. Susie's kindness and attention to detail were exceptional and I would highly recommend this splendid homestead to anyone. I will certainly be rebooking with Susie next time I am in Warwick. Thank you again Susie for your gracious hospitality.

  • We love this house. It has such a lovely feel with large bedrooms and very comfortable king size beds. We enjoyed a yummy breakfast in the room next morning, which topped off a very enjoyable stay. We would definitely recommend this Airbnb in Warwick. It is quite the Downton Abbey experience. Thank you for your hospitality Susie & Steven. Claire, Bill & Maria

  • We had a fabulous stay with Susie. The room was beautiful, clean, and cosy, and is as photographed. It is a large room and very self contained from Susie's residence, so there is ample privacy. A lovely breakfast was made available, and there were lovely extra touches such as cookies and tea readily available in the room.

    Ahmad2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Susie & Stephen are fantastic hosts. The rooms are brilliant and possibly the best short I have had in years. This was a great find and I will be staying again. This is one of the finest houses I have stayed since using AirBNB Cheers, John

  • Merrilees is a delightful home & the guest suite is spacious & beautifully appointed. It offers a very high standard of comfort. Susie goes the extra mile, offering a vast array of delicious breakfast provisions, as well as some petite handmade sweet treats to enjoy with your cuppa! Cheers, Susie & Stephen.

Welcome to Binnum. Located 2 hours drive from Brisbane and 5 minutes from the centre of Warwick, it offers a country experience with the comforts of good food and coffee nearby. It provides a great opportunity to get away.
The main house is air conditioned in living area, sleeps 5 consisting a queen bed, 2 king singles and a single trundle bed. The fee of $275 per night gives you complete access to all areas of the house. There is also a cottage at Binnum. This sleeps 2 (queen bed) and it has its own bathroom. To rent both the main house and the cottage, the fee is $350 per night. As this fee is not automatically calculated by airbnb, the extra fee is payable to the owner upon arrival.
  • This is truly a magical place. The lication over looking the township plus the wonderful historic house makes Binnum very unique. The host Kylie, was exceptional, promptly replying to all inquiries! Would recommend and will definitely return in the future.

    Zach2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place to stay for Jazz & Jumpers in July at Warwick. We had a wonderful time in the beautifully restored sandstone house. The beds were warm & comfortable, the home offered most things - BBQ, outstanding views down into Warwick, lots of wood for our fire in the lounge room!!- only thing we missed was a microwave. Thanks for a most comfortable stay - we left all relaxed and ready for real life again!! Carol

    Carol2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is our fourth visit and we always enjoy coming back to Binnum. The house is very well equipped and comfortably accommodated our group of 3 couples. Kylie came and lit the fires before we came so the house was nice and warm for our arrival. Since we came last time a new combustion unit has been installed in the dining room. This is a great improvement as it makes it easier to light a fire and keep the room warm during winter.

    Christopher2017-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • A farm house with it all! Beautiful heritage sandstone home, amazing surrounds, with all the modern comforts. We loved our stay, would go back in a heart beat.

    Josephine2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. Good beds and a clean house including the bathrooms. Perfect for city people who want a taste of the country with a fireplace that warmed the house. Supplies were in the fridge on our arrival including bacon and eggs for breakfast the next morning. Cows meandering around the property and views over the racecourse. Peace and quiet away from the busy lives we lead. When can we go back?

    Andrew2015-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous spot - I wish we could have stayed longer to really enjoy the house and garden. The house is slightly out of town and overlooks the Condomine River and racecourse which make for a wonderful view!

  • Wonderful old house and grounds as a base to explore the area. Our young kids loved it. The thick stone walls kept it cool despite 35 degree days.

  • The Cottage is the loveliest place to stay; a sweet cottage fully equipped, clean and comfortable, with a lovely friendly hostess, in a very convenient yet quiet spot in Warwick. Warwick itself is a gorgeous country town full of friendly folk - we had easy conversations with several people while we were there. The cottage is close to town, and it's easy to get to the highway for day trips. We felt comfortable and relaxed the entire time we were there, and wanted for nothing. So hard to go home...

Experience the Southern Downs region in a 1940's character cottage within 10 minutes walk of the city centre, parks, Showgrounds, and is close to the Condamine River walks. You’ll love my place because of the cosiness, the light filled living spaces and the location of the cottage. The back deck overlooks a private garden and offers a relaxing place to enjoy your stay. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and families (with kids).

If you want city lights don't go to Rose cottage but if you want countryside with lovely views this is the place. Beds are so comfotable & the linen is beautiful. If you love history Bill will take you on a tour of the winery that was on the property & you will see how much work he has done over the years. Thank you Susan & Bill, it was wonderful. Hope you are improving Susan?

  • The atmosphere was beautiful and peaceful set among the pepperina trees and looking out to the horizon. We had two very cosy and comfy nights in the very well appointed and equipped little home away from home. The old winery is very historic and Bill shared his considerable knowledge of its history with us. My elderly mum loved collecting the eggs from the chickens and sitting and having tea in the sun. We walked along the country roads watching the abundant birdlife and soaking in the silence. Susan and Bill were kindness itself. Thank you for our lovely stay. My mum can't stop talking about it.

    Ann2016-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Bill and Susan's cottage is just delightful. Steeped in history, It is set in an idyllic location only a short drive from Warwick and has all of the creature comforts to make for a perfect country getaway. • Rivoli farm is a lovely place to stay. The property has amazing views across the landscape, friendly horses to pat and Rosi the host and her family are all very welcoming. Rosi cooked us awesome breakfast and dinner. The bed was comfy, the shower was hot, we had a bathroom to ourselves. Rosi made sure that we were kept warm At all times whether indoor heating or outdoor fire pits. I could relax on the porch in the sun with a book and when it was too dark to play with the animals my daughter was wrapped to find she still had access to Netflix and the Disney channel! A great weekender, ideal to allow Day trips in the area which has beautiful scenery. I highly recommend this.

    Pia2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful place to stay. Rosi is the perfect host and made our welcome so warm. It felt like staying with family. The cooking was exceptional and her home made goodies were such a treat! • We would like to thank Rosi for being such a wonderful host. She was very friendly and welcoming. The house and grounds are amazing. It was lovely to meet Bella (the cat, Betty and Dixie (the dogs). Rosi gave us some lovely home made scones when we arrived and a scrumptious breakfast next morning. We even purchased some of her home grown eggs to take home. Did I forget to mention that Rosi makes her own preserves. We had the lemon butter for breakfast on croissants. Yum :-)

    christopher2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a wonderful country get away--Rivoli Farm should be your first and only choice! It is centrally located near a lot of hiking, small towns, wineries and other sights. The house itself is charming and comfortable and Rosi is an amazing host. She treats you like an old friend and is happy to help. Her lemon butter and continental breakfast is sooooo good. The farm is a relaxing location to unwind and let the stresses leave your body as you sit on the veranda and soak in the long view of the surrounding fields and paddocks and listen to the country sounds.

The guest bedroom, opens out directly to the northern open porch.
You will find the area very quiet, with the nearest neighbours, appoximately 1 km away.
  • Bruce's place is wonderful! The view across the paddocks in the morning as the sun comes up is just amazing. The stars at night are incredible too! Bruce is a great friendly guy who made our whole family welcome and accommodated us so well we are already planning a return trip. The place is a little way out of town but if all you want to do is relax, watch the sun come up, stargaze a little or wander around - this is the place to do it. Bed was great, lovely rain water shower, generous breakfast and even a drop of drink before bed. Bruce, you are a fantastic host and a credit to the airbnb system! Cheers Bruce - we will be back! - Kara, John and family! xoxo

  • What a fabulous stay we had at Bruce's place! He was very welcoming & friendly. We stayed in both rooms as we are a family of 4. The beds were very comfy & the rooms & ensuite were very clean. We had a great time visiting the sheep & baby lambs & we had so much fun rounding the sheep up. Kids had a ride on Bruce's quad bike. A few lambs were born in the days before our visit so we got to hold 2 newborn twin lambs! Highlight of our trip! Bruce had a nice camp fire going on the night we arrived. As it was winter during our visit, it was a welcome comfort that there was ducted air in the house. Will definatly visit again!

Kelvin Falls is a 2000 acre, working cattle property, which features a picturesque rural outlook with open grazing, seasonal flowing creeks and rugged gorges.
The cosy, two bedroom worker's cottage offers a peaceful retreat for couples or families, with a double bed in the first bedroom, and a single bed with a roll-away single bed in the second. The kitchenette has a small oven & stove, a refrigerator, and cookware and utensils are provided. There is also a gas barbecue available, along with a campfire with wood provided for boiling a billy or roasting marshmallows under the stars.
We recommend a trip to the Granite Belt to sample some fantastic fresh fruit and veg, plus of course world class wineries. Queen Mary Falls is also a great attraction for locals and visitors alike.
  • Andrew and Rowena thank you for sharing your amazing property with us. You have done an amazing job with the cottage, we loved how homely it was and we had everything we needed. It was private, and decorated beautifully and with the special touches like beautiful fresh flowers and candles. We loved the breakfast basket, so worth it getting especially the home baked bread and strawberry jam. We enjoyed exploring your property and just loved the gypsy chook pen, what a fantastic idea. Thank you so much, we hope to be back again. We will highly recommend people come and stay at Kelvin Falls, and take the time to explore this amazing property. Kind Regards Sue-Ellen and Kevin

  • The hosts were very welcoming, easy going and helpful. Our breakfast hamper was lovely and so breakfast was a feast. We enjoyed the separate renovated workers cottage, with its homely touches, rustic charm and privacy. The farm is a little out of the way but that was part of the experience and being away from the hustle and bustle. No TV was great and we enjoyed the break away from the electronic world. The kangaroos [be careful driving at dusk], grass parrots and other local wildlife added to the wonder.

    Veronica2015-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a relaxing time in Andrew & Rowena's gorgeous cottage. The cottage is original and beautifully restored, containing everything we could possibly need. The setting is so pretty and just remote enough to see a sky full of stars at night which was absolutely breathtaking. It was a real farm experience for our kids as well as they roamed around discovering how the farm worked with Andrew being extremely helpful & accommodating. Thanks so much for a lovely time, we would love to visit again in the future:)

    kathy2015-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew and Rowena were the perfect hosts. We had a lovely few days in a beautiful farm setting. The cottage we stayed in had a warm, country feel and the attention to detail was clearly evident and most appreciated. From the delicious welcoming homemade bread to the relaxing view of cows at our doorstep there are many attractive features on offer at Kelvin Falls Farmstay. Andrew and Rowena are clearly busy people but they always had time for us and their love for their beautiful property is obvious. We'll be back!

    Pieter and Jayne 2015-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Our farm stay at the Kelvin falls cottage was as good as an experience gets. The hosts were welcoming and took us around not once but both mornings we were there to pick eggs from the chicken hutch and feed the six week old piglets. The kids were delighted to be a part of the whole thing. Andrew even asked us to help ourselves to their home grown veggie patch and we picked king sized beetroots, capsicum and spring onions. The cottage itself came fully contained with everything we could possibly need for our stay. Attention was paid to the tiniest detail and Rowena was quick to provide us with an additional foam mattress upon request. It was incredible to see a working farm with all the cattle and horses in the paddocks. It is most definitely a place we will visit again.

  • Andrew & his family were just so fantastic & very welcoming. My girls & I had the most magnificent time away & really enjoyed being able to participate in activities on the property. We will definitely be back. Thank you so very much for allowing us to stay in your cottage.

  • We absolutely loved our time at Kekvin Falls. It was a somber car driving away, with some very disappointed children who didn't want to leave! Thanks for sharing your beautiful place with us and taking time out to show us the farm. Our children loved playing cricket, fishing and having fun with Hugh. Thank you for being so welcoming and hospitable. The little cottage is lovely and has all we needed. The real farm experience on our last morning was one we won't forget in a while! We enjoyed your meat and eggs as well as Rowena's bread, esp Noah! Thanks again, we plan to come back and cook bananas in the fire with you again some time.

Discover the irresistible charm, genuine hospitality and fascinating diversity of the Warwick region by staying at my 116 year old Queenslander on a working farm, "GLEN VALE" Emu Vale.
The homestead, "Glen Vale" is a 116 year old classic Queenslander situated on a working farm. Guests have a selection of 2 bedrooms (1 Queen or 2 Singles) and also have their own bathroom which is located down the hallway from the bedroom. Guests are accommodated at one end of the house and have access to the front verandah which overlooks the valley where they can enjoy a full breakfast and afternoon tea. There is plenty of parking under cover. I are happy to take guests for a walk down by the creek where hopefully, we can see platypus. Emu Vale is a safe and welcoming farming community where everyone has the time to stop for a chat. Dinner is available at the local Yangan Hotel (8 minutes) or Warwick (25 minutes) Visitors to this area will need their own private transport. I have 1 friendly cat, Simon and 1 small, dog (Marley) who are not allowed inside but enjoy walks with guests down to the creek for a paddle. If you have an interest in birds, then Glen Vale is the perfect location to view many Australian parrots and our family of kookaburras. Thomas Bancroft, from Seattle recently was a guest and recorded our kookaburras for his upcoming book on birds. .http://thomasbancroft.org/laughing-kookaburra-a-spectacular-australian-bird/

The accommodation itself is a beautifully restored Queenslander with amazing views. Dinner with Penny, Edward and son Chris was very enjoyable with many interesting conversations. Fabulous food, beautifully presented and breakfast on the verandah each morning was amazing. Penny and Edward are the nicest people one could meet, we will definitely be returning. Thank you Penny. • Welcomed on arrival with muffins and tea, directions to property were detailed and accurate. A great knowledge of the local area and accommodating to be involved with guests activity if desired.

  • My friend and I were made very welcome at all times. Cups of tea were offered when we arrived and again when we got back from dinner that evening. The room was lovely and everything was neat and clean and thoughtfully prepared. The house is lovely, and the views of the mountains and farm surrounds were really nice. After city life, I found the quiet truly blissful. It is nice when the only sounds are the songs of birds. I enjoyed two walks with Marlee, who is a very cute dog! Our hosts really went out of their way to make our stay pleasant.

  • Penny is a very hospitable host and made us feel at home right from the start. Her house has all the charm of the old Queenslander era and it was a very relaxing place to stay. Loved the outlook from the verandah while we munched our breakfast. A great escape from the city for a couple of days.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Montrose Farm. The cottage was beautiful and above all warm with the fireplace and aircon. Kids loved the heated spa on the back deck. Loved the open spaces. Jenny and Ross were the perfect hosts - made us all feel very welcome. Loved all of the local treats that were waiting for us in the cottage. Kids say it was the best holiday ever. We will be back for another visit in the near future. Thank you so much for your hospitality.

  • What a delightful time our family had at Montrose Farm over Easter. From the little bunnies beside the bed to the homemade cookies in the cupboard, Sheepwash Cottage could not have been more welcoming. Ross and Jenny are warm and open hosts and they could not have been more helpful to us. In particular, our children adored them and the toot from the tractor would bring squeals of delight as they knew Ross was on his way. We have spoken highly of our experience to friends and family and the kids are already asking when we will next return. It was a great experience and we look forward to returning for another visit. Thank you Jenny and Ross for a lovely holiday.

  • Everything about our stay at Sheepwash Cottage was perfect. If you enjoy sitting by the fire at night watching the stars, relaxing in the hot spa after a day of adventure, and the most delicious home cooking that rivals any restaurant I have been to, this is the place for you. Jenny and Ross are extremely welcoming, and you feel instantly at home in the cosy little cottage. Jenny takes great pride in her cooking - I highly recommend you ask 'What's on the menu?' when booking. Our three days at Sheepwash Cottage was absolute bliss. We will most definitely be back again. We had a fun-filled adventure weekend, but next time I think we will bring some books and just relax in the spa. Jenny and Ross - thank you for your hospitality. You have created a piece of heaven on earth.

A stunning rural retreat, ideal for couples. There are 3 separate buildings each with own bedroom and bathroom, all with stunning views. Great log fires for winter. Enjoy the creek right out the front of the house. Escape to a country get away, surrounding by the majestic mountains of the Great Dividing Range, only 2 hours from Brisbane. Spend the evenings gazing at the stunning starlit sky, or toasting marshmallows at the firepit by the creek, or chalking up a cue for a game of pool.
Main house has a master queen bedroom with luxury bathroom and a couch/fold out double bed in the living room. This large open plan house has a new gourmet kitchen with large oven and convection microwave and a laundry with front loading washing machine. A spacious sunken lounge room as well as a large dining area and casual sitting area all overlook a fabulous view of the Swan Creek. The second building is a self contained twin bed cottage with it's own bathroom and cosy living room with sandstone fireplace and a kitchenette. The third building contains another ensuited queen bedroom with great views, as well as a small bedroom with 2 single beds. This building also houses a large shed type room with a pool table and ping pong table. There is also a gazebo looking over the creek for outdoor dining on a grand scale.
This location is only 30km from the beautiful town of Killarney nestled in the hills of the Great Dividing Range. This area is renowned for it's wonderful farming land (producing great beef, potatoes and corn) and the scenic 'Falls Drive' - experiencing Queen Mary Falls, Daggs Falls and Browns Falls - and the start of the Condamine River, the longest river in Australia. It's also a short drive to Warwick, the Rose and Rodeo Capital of Australia, and the great Jumpers n Jazz Festival... and of course, a short drive to Stanthorpe, home to some of Australia's great wines and wonderful fruit produce.
  • Cygnet is one of the most spectacular, comfortable and quiet holiday places we have yet visited. A true escape from urban madness it offers delights at every turn. Recently, and very tastefully renovated, the accommodation is both luxurious and comprehensively equipped. So many little details provided by Donna and her family make this a place you will never want to leave. Our 'disconnected' teenagers were perfectly catered for and not once did we hear a plea for internet, or cry of "I'm bored" - so it was a real break for everyone. My wife and I were very comfortable, and warm as toast given it was mid-winter, with our friends in the cottage, and teens in the 'top shed'. Everyone had a wonderful time, and there's lots to see and do nearby - although the temptation is simply to hang out and enjoy the peace and quiet. Thanks so much Donna for sharing such a wonderful property with us. We will be back soon!!!

    Matthew2017-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing place to stay! The house is gorgeous with big picture windows looking out over the river bend and bush, and so private and serene. Beautifully decorated and lovingly filled with everything you need as well as extra touches that will really make you feel at home. We woke up to sounds of the creek, the birds and the bush, sat on the veranda watching the kids play in the creek, and enjoyed a meal looking over the view as the sun set - perfect!

    Liz2017-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place to get away and unwind. Great accommodation in beautiful countryside. The separate buildings nestled together are ideal for groups sharing. Everything you need is there (I enjoyed disconnecting from the internet). Nicely positioned between Killarney and Warwick (both 25 mins drive). Thanks for a great trip!

    Ian2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautifully presented property, in a very picturesque location beside a running creek - it was the perfect country getaway for our family weekend away (3 nights). It was so lovely being able to have creekside fires each evening, before moving indoors to one of the fireplaces. Communication from the owner was thorough and very helpful, and we were given lots of suggestions for things to do and see in the local area which were great - the highlight being the visit to the 3 waterfalls before driving back to Cygnet via 14 crossings of the Condamine River (this part for 4WD only) . The owners have thought of everything with this property - we have a member of our family with a food intolerance, so usually self cater. This is the best equipped kitchen I've come across in a holiday home - with great appliances that work and are very well maintained (and clean!!). Furnishings/ decor is lovely and it's a really comfortable and wonderful place to stay. We would definitely like to return - particularly to bring friends from overseas to see some of our QLD country. Thank you Donna!

    Louise2017-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Cygnet for a long weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. The accomodation, equipment and features are above expectation and the setting so serene it is impossible not to relax and enjoy your time there. The 3 cabin/3 bathroom set up is ideal for families with teenagers or groups. Donna is a great host and couldn't have been more helpful to create a great stay. Our family will certainly be back.

    Brent2017-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • Oh wow! We desperately needed a break away in the countryside and this beautiful property was the answer. We appreciated the peaceful setting - no mobiles or internet to distract us from recharging and relaxing in nature. We spent 3 nights there - wish it was longer. The home is so lovely but mostly I enjoyed soaking in that awesome bath tub. We enjoyed our lunches out under the gazebo and dined inside of an evening - that kitchen inspired me to cook! An added bonus was actually seeing the mother cow with her newborn calf. We loved our stay Donna. We will be back. Thank you

Hello, my name is Eve, thanks for looking at my property. I moved from the Gold Coast to the beautiful historic township of Killarney to escape the rat race. I have a beautiful old Country Colonial with veranda’s to the North, South and East that overlook the mountain ranges – it is truly beautiful here. It’s a quiet life, and I love it that way. So if you are looking for a great escape after a day exploring the Granite Belt then this would be the perfect place to return home to.
Charming old Queenslander, with a comfortable double bed, big wardrobe (built in) drawers, plenty of room for storage of luggage. White linen, electric blanket for cold winter nights. Quiet and peaceful. My home has been undergoing renovations so there are parts that still remain old - it adds to the charm. Spacious modern bathroom which would be shared. The single bedroom has a bed only, electric blanket if needed, limited storage/hanging space in this room, but there is plenty of storage space in the double bedroom
Enjoy a meal at the local Hotel. Perfect location for exploring Queen Mary Falls only 10 mins drive away, walk to the local township for lunch or dinner at the Killarney Hotel or the local bowls club. Visit 2 Art galleries in town. A 20 minute drive to Warwick and the famous annual "Jumpers & Jazz" festival in July, explore Stanthorpe an easy 45 min drive away. Killarney has so much to explore with its natural beauty and renowned for its bird life. Bushwalking, trail bike riding there is a lot to do here. As my property is in residential Killarney, I would ask for visitors to respect the neighbours and be mindful of noise levels after 10pm. In other words - we dont do loud parties here :) I hope you understand. It is best suited for a couple or single people who simply need a place to relax and sleep at the end of a day exploring.
  • Eve went above and beyond the role of a host. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

    Kingsley2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • From our arrival (on a very hot afternoon) to departing the next (very hot) day, we found in Eve, the host, a down to earth warmth and generosity which made our stay very comfortable and relaxed despite being in a heat wave. The cottage we stayed in had "old world charm" indeed. Eve hasn't finished all the renovations, Ie: patchy paintwork is to be found in places but it kind of works in a rustic country cottage way and the bathroom is lovely and luxurious with heaps of thoughtful touches. Eve was the consummate host with a thoughtful attentiveness to detail such as providing cold water with lemon upon arrival - iceblocks and pedestal fans to beat the heat and later, a tray of nibbles to go with our after dinner drinks on verandah. There were lots of other little thoughtful things/touches which enriched our time there and makes us feel like we'd like to return one day, The host, Eve was sociable and liked to chat with guest but definitely knew when we kind of wanted a bit of "alone/self time and gave us lots of space. Thanks Eve for creating that "home away from home" feel. Next time we visit we'll come in Autumn and do some of the many waterfall bushwalks and visit the interesting art and crafty shops(which were closed being NY day hol) A heatwave was probably not the wisest time to visit this house and the district in general but Eve made our stay enjoyable nevertheless. Definitely and highly recommend Eve as an air b and b host.

  • Beautiful home, lovely to have the log fire going, very quiet and relaxing setting. Charmaine went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable stay. Highly recommend staying here.

  • Great location,and lovely garden.

    Susan2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Charmaine provided a lovely clean home and was a very nice host to have. We would go back next year given the choice.

    Laura2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Charmaine's charming property in a lovely town made for a delightful stay. One night was not enough, however, we quickly felt very comfortable and relaxed as though we were in our own home. We greatly respected our very courteous and helpful host for what she has achieved at her place and for the way we were able to enjoy our stay. We would happily return.

    Michael2017-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Charmaine's charming home is Killarney is the epitome of country town warmth. On a particularly cold August evening, it was wonderful to be greeted with a roaring fire, comfortable bed and the following morning a delightful continental breakfast! My only regret was that I didn't have time to enjoy the garden and meet the other four legged residents! Thank you for a lovely night Charmaine!

    Angie2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Was an absolutely wonderful experience. The house was beautiful with its sunny spots to sit in.,very comfy beds and a warm toasty fire for night time! Lots for the kids to do, play with Steve the Dog, the small horses and cow and calf. Also got to see day old sheep and hold them! Was a wonderful experience for al of us and now we're making it an annual event so we'll be back! Charmaine is a wonderful host, lots of great information about the area, we had no idea there was so much happening in this little country town! Very warm and welcoming and we felt right at home! See you next year! thanks again Charmaine!

The house is a rambling wooden character home nearly 100 years old featuring 30's Autraliana furniture. Ten minute drive to Queen Mary Waterfall & 30 min' bicycle ride. Shady day dream spots in the garden and a house full of books.
The house itself is a lovely old, character home. Humble, wood, wood, wood and comfortable. The front veranda faces south and is always cool in Summer - a great reading spot. Your room is definitely quite Australiana - with period furniture and the austere simplicity and elegance we love about the old Australian home. Great beds and Australian timber everywhere. Some nice pieces of art here and there. The house is full of books & magazines to take advantage of. I love furniture - there are some distinctive arm chairs - just pick your favorite. I have a wood stove in the Lounge, Gas heater on the back veranda and other heaters. There are playing cards, divinatory cards and board games for small children. Over-head fans in all the bedrooms. "If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need." - Marcus Tullius Cicero.
Killarney is set in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range and a ten minute drive from Queen Mary Waterfalls which they say is the original head waters of the Darling River - flowing all the way to Victoria. I love to visit the Falls which is a very easy and a short bush walk. In Summer a dip in the water before it heads over the Falls feels positively baptism-like. I also love the café over the road from the Falls and the birds you can see in that vicinity - some of whom are also in my garden. The bird life is fabulous here. There is a more upmarket café/restaurant at Carr's Lookout, (Spring Creek Cafe) with stunning views into the Cambonoora Gorge on that road also. You can also drive in to the Cambonoora Gorge if you have a four-wheel drive - 14 river crossings - just stunning. Drives everywhere around Killarney are scenic and the skies each day are always a notable feature for enjoyment. Cycling is great around Killarney - quiet roads. Think about where you want to spend Sunset each day - its always special - you don't want to miss it. Great from my front veranda.
  • Judy was incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home from the minute we stepped in the door. Her home is wonderfully eclectic and absolutely charming. We had a wonderful stay with Judy and thoroughly enjoyed her little slice of Killarney. Thanks Judy!

    Pete2016-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay with Judy in Killarney! Judy's house was exactly as she said it would be in the listing. The home was a charming old Queenslander, filled with quirky pieces to take in and the garden was lovely! A highlight was the cooking that Judy did for us with her own garden pantry (she cooked a beautiful bush lemon roast chicken with lemons and herbs from her own garden and scrambled eggs the following morning with her own shallots). As a host, Judy was wonderful- very friendly and accommodating of our children and us. She also had fantastic local knowledge. Make sure you follow her advice and take the Queen Mary Falls Drive back through to Boonah if you're heading back to Brisbane. It was breathtaking (thanks for the tip Judy!). We'd definately stay with Judy again... in fact the kids are already asking when we are going back to see her again!

    Veronica2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Judy's quirky house and interesting garden- especially the fire pits! She was so accommodating and cooked us a delicious breakfast!

  • Judy is a most hospitable host and made us feel very welcome

    Sarah2017-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at Judy's place. Her place is quirky and have a lovely backyard. Her kale drink was delicious. Our dog also enjoyed the space and his freedom to be able to run around. Definitely recommend Judy's guest house.

    Stephanie2017-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely 'homely' old home. On our request Judy took us on a little tour of the beautiful garden after breakfast. We enjoyed sharing some stories, and our dog was happy to find such a welcoming host too! Thanks Judy, we hope to make it back sometime.

    Catherine2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Judy's place in Kilarney for two nights while compteting in a cycling event in Warwick. Really lovely little house to unwind in, was 100% warm enough and very comfortable. Judy was really accomodating and a great host. Would 100% recommend as a weekend getaway!

    Grace2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a delight to be a guest in Judy's home! A warmer welcome would be hard to find when reservation is made the afternoon of arrival and smells of homemade chicken soup greet you as you walk in the door! Luggage in, invitation for Judy to make dinner accepted [I thought I made good chicken soup, her's trumps] and a warm cup of tea in the garden, we were blissfully relaxed after travelling and sank into to the comfort Judy's home and the beauty of Killarney. Judy's is totally our kinda place - lovely garden to explore, rambling old house to appreciate, and more books and object d' art to pour over than this one stay would accommodate! Judy is the consummate host, easy going, hospitable, gracious and generous. We feel we've made a friend in Killarney and look forward to being in her home again.

  • Binnum, is an absolute escape from life. The quiet, scenic and peaceful location, ensures you relax from the minute you arrive. Beautifully presented and clean throughout, Binnum has everything you need for a short or extended stay. We were a group of 8, and the house catered beautifully for this number, the only thing you need to take is some outdoor chairs so you can sit out on the verandah enjoy a glass of bubbly and take in the stunning location.

    Suzie2017-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful, relaxing country property. The house is well appointed and feels like home. It was so lovely to wake up to the sound of birds and having the centre of town being only a two minute drive away while still feeling like I was in the middle of the country was a perfect balance. I would definitely stay again.

  • Magnificent period home set high on the hill overlooking Warwick township. Perfect location for that special photo and only a short drive to town and all amenities. Recommend a stay in the cooler months when you can sit in front of a log fire with a really fine port.

    Matt2017-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home! Lovely thick walls which helped keep the heat out - much needed this weekend! Excellent communication with host. We throughly enjoyed our stay and would love to attend in the winter so we can use the fire & make good use of the tennis court! My mother and father in law met a little tree frog who came up the toilet! Definitely keep the toilet lid down - hehe! My children loved the selection of board games at the house. "Most comfortable sofa ever" says my 8 year old and I'm inclined to agree! Very comfortable beds and lovely linen. We had a fabulous time & look forward to returning one day!

    Gaynor2016-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Mary made me most welcome. Initially I thought that the sat nav had taken me to the wrong place as it guided me to the front of the property which comprises very large formal gardens that extend a considerable distance from the house. At the back of the house I parked under a shelter & was shown a self contained unit with bedroom, kitchen /diner & shower room. Really beautiful setting - had access to the gardens. There was milk & breakfast cereal / bread for toast. So everything one could wish for. The town of Allora is very small & the options to eat reflect that. There was an interesting Indian take away van parked on the Main Street but unfortunately closed by the time I arrived.

    Ken2016-01-30T00:00:00Z

Which was cold especially being winter , no light at the entrance so you can see to unlock the door to get in at night time, no heating in the bathroom, and nowhere to hang your clothes also no spare blanket on the bed only the 1 doona.
