Transportation in Uganda

Taxi’s are 14-passenger vans that transport people wherever they need to go. You’ll see taxi drivers shouting out the window “Kampala” or “Iganga” or another town or village name. Whatever they are shouting is where they are going. Boda boda’s are motorcycles for hire. You sit on the back of the motorcycle and the driver takes you where you need to go. You will find boda boda drivers waiting for clients on almost every corner! With both taxi’s and boda’s, make sure you finalize on a price BEFORE setting off. It’s common to be overcharged, especially if you are a foreigner.
