The Casa Marina district is named for Henry Flagler's historic hotel in the area. Just to the north a few blocks is White Street's commercial district. Here you'll find many new and established shops, restaurants, several great yoga studios and Fausto's neighborhood grocery store. The White Street Pier, Higg's Beach and Astro City Playground are a few blocks south-west.

Here's a quick tip to sound like a local...

Conch is a common name of a number of different medium-to-large-sized sea snails. The queen conch is indigenous to the waters of the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean. Key West-born locals are called “conchs,” and those who are locals but were born elsewhere are referred to as “fresh-water conchs.” The island also holds annual conch-blowing contests, and the local high school mascot is the Fighting Conch. When ordering conch fritters, you'll notice the meat is coming from the Bahamas. And here's the lesson this fresh-water conch had to learn quickly... it's pronounced "konk":).
