Duomo is the cathedral church of Milan, Lombardy, Italy. Dedicated to St Mary of the Nativity, it is the seat of the Archbishop of Milan, currently Archbishop Mario Delpini. Construction began in 1386 and took nearly six centuries to complete. It is the largest church in Italy (the larger St. Peter's Basilica is in the State of Vatican City) and the third largest in the world. This is of course a must see. You can easily take the Metro. Just get on at the Rovereto stop on Vialle Monza near my apartment and get off at Duomo the 7th stop.

The Sforza Castle is located in the center of Milan. It was built in the 15th century by Francesco Sforza, Duke of Milan, on the remnants of a 14th-century fortification. Later renovated and enlarged, in the 16th and 17th centuries it was one of the largest citadels in Europe. Extensively rebuilt by Luca Beltrami in 1891–1905, it now houses several of the city's museums and art collections. Transportation from my apartment is very simple. Just walk to the right when exiting the building and continue on to the Tram #1 Greco stop. This is the final stop on #1 and you can take it to the castle viewing the city as you go. This is definitely an important site on your list of things to see.
