Food Scene

Fratelli Paradiso is, quite simply, one of the best things about dining in Potts Point. We've been going here since they opened in 2001. It's a simple Italian formula, three entrées, three pastas, three mains. But that doesn't begin to describe the perfect service and the masterful Italian wine list, most of which the boys import themselves. Enrico and Giovanni are the ultimate hosts, some of their staff have been with them for more than five years - and the adjacent bakery fulfils your need for the most amazing Italian pastries for breakfast, either take away or dine in. This is our local, for breakfast, lunch or dinner almost every day of the year.

The Apollo is great modern Greek. The wonderful former owner of Sydney's legendary Longrain has opened this Potts Point place and it's consistently busy - reflecting the great food and great looking interior. It's sometimes busy but that's a good thing... arrive early and you'll get a table no problem.

Michelle Powell and her team, the dream team on the floor and the sommelier, have created just what Potts Point needed, the modern French bistro. The food is so good and the experience is terrific. If you're on your own, dine at the bar and be virtually in the middle of the kitchen and watch Michelle at her craft. This is great food, beautiful presentation and the most attentive floor staff you'll find in Sydney.

Drinks & Nightlife

The newest small bar entry in Potts Point is a welcome addition. Great selection of wine, great food and the experience of the team who put together Miss Tilley Devine... it's a bit loud but loads of atmosphere and just what the sommelier ordered for those chilly winter nights. In summer, they'll open up the windows and you'll be in the middle of pedestrianised Llankelly Place, which is great!

The Roosevelt, and their other place, Eau de Vie, are amazing cocktail bars within walking distance of each other. They're both very different vibes, the Roosevelt being retro Americana and Eau de Vie more a discovery of a hidden bar in one of Sydney's boutique hotels, The Kirketon. But these guys kill it in the international cocktail competitions. There's a lot to get through in the multiple page menu... and there is serious mixology going on with some of the more complex drinks. The food offerings are ok for a bar... but that's not really why you're here...
