Great food, cheap. Very popular so you might want to try to sit at the bar if it's crowded and you don't have a reservation. Great margaritas.

Go-to greasy spoon for...everyone! Gets absolutely packed on weekends but worth the wait. Try the lentilberry wrap, or substitute seitan in one of the crew specials on the back of the menu.

Really good and straightforward Italian fare- not Italian American, but like something you'd eat IN Italy. Two really nice guys own this adorable space, but gets crowded on show nights. Call ahead!

Light-filled cafe in the heart of Allentown, with soups and hummus and sandwiches so good you'll cry. You can also just grab coffee drinks. Not open very late, unfortunately. Nice people work here. :)

Drinks & Nightlife

Decent selection of local/national beers, owner Mike's American trivia is very entertaining, and the place is plastered with history. Oh, did I mention the building's historic too?

Recently renovated, plays host to lots of electronic music and DJs these days- great dance parties. I've heard the menu is good, but very meat-oriented (welcome to Buffalo). Decent beer selection.

Funky and run-down, but with a lot of great content, kind of like Allentown. Piles of books, somewhat organized; more about experiencing the space and the very interesting people who work there.
