A list of restaurants that we (or guests) have loved.
The best Mexican food in town (according to this Arizonan) at a great price and just a block away from the house. Highly recommend: margaritas (made from fresh fruit) or cazuelitas (a giant bowl of fresh-squeezed fruit and alcohol, essentially), tacos nopales (cactus), and chilaquiles. Family-owned and operated. Closed Wednesdays.

Walkable, local, and family-owned. Authentic Thai with myriad selections and great curry options. Please note that their spicy is HOT.

Fantastic breakfast and lunch cafe with a ton of vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options a little over a mile from the house. Their polenta cakes and the "hot mess" are both amazing, but we've never had a meal we didn't love. Tasty coffee, too. Will be super busy on weekends.

Pancakes are always a good bet, as are the plantains. Will be very busy on the weekends. Reservations are taken but only if 24 hours in advance.

Hungry after closing the bar? There are closer 24 hour options but Ma Fischer's is worth the trip for your midnight munchies. Classic, delicious diner food.

A little-known treasure of Indian food. Lunch buffet can get busy but dinner times are normally fairly empty with quick service. Navratan korma and saag paneer are highly recommended.

They have their own bakery and roastery (note that there is little to eat if you are gluten-free). And many locations have live music or poetry readings. All are a bit quirky. This location is right on the lake in an old water pumping station and has an outdoor patio and numerous nooks. Park across the street in the marina parking lot.
