Used to be a really traditional pub until a recent refurbishment. Bright and pleasant restaurant. Very good food, though the wait can sometimes be a while. Totally worth it though.

Bar and restaurant on the top floor of the Marriott Hotel. Great views and nice outdoor terrace. More of interest in summer than in winter. Food is expensive and average, service can be hit and miss, but the views and sunset on a nice summer evening make up for it.

While Beethoven was actually born in a little village very close to Bonn, this is where his family lived during his early years. Small place, has some artefacts, instruments, partitures, etc. Sort of interesting. Not that expensive, so you might as well go and see it.

Almost untouched by war and reconstruction, the mostly stately houses remain in the same condition as when they were built between 1860 and the start of the First World War. Behind the wrought iron fences in the front gardens with leafy chestnut trees, they impress with eagles and battlements and other ornamental details. The urban planning discipline of block construction and its greenery in the internal courtyards and on the streets are worth admiring. This is where the bourgeoisie lived: civil servants, professors, businessmen, doctors, lawyers, rich pensioners. A large number of student inns and taverns are located here, which are worth visiting in the evenings.
