There is a wonderful little Children's Zoo here called "Old MacDonald's Farm". Beautiful and serene trails, many picnic areas a large fire ring tucked away off the back of "Cannon Ball Hill" not too far past Old MacDonald's Farm on the other side of the road. a nice size playground, swimming pool open during summer months, and when the freezing temperatures hit, an outdoor ice skating rink is poured.

A wonderful, relaxing, and educational place to visit and explore nature and history of the area. There are many educational and community activities opportunities at the nature center, and I highly recommend a visit.

Having been to Ireland, i can honestly say that the environment at the I.D. is as close as you are going to get here in Cedar Rapids. The staff is professional and fun to interact with, the food is Fantastic, and the people are genuinely good to be around.
The kitchen has had some of the same staff for nearly 20 years and they really know what they are doing.
I Highly recommend the following:
*CheeseFries~A blend of two cheeses and bacon over a heaping plate of fries. $8.50
*Cheese Wontons~Wontons are hand-folded with Monterrey jack cheese and served with honey mustard. An ID original. $8.50
*Aussie BurgerTake a classic Bacon Cheeseburger and add a fried egg and peanut butter. 10
Personally I never make a trip to the democrat without ordering--
*Stuffed Portabella Mushroom Caps~A combination of crabmeat, garlic, and cream cheese baked in sauteed baby Portabella mushroom caps topped with melted provolone cheese. $8.50
AND a Fresh Poured GUINNESS!!!

Tomaso's has been a Cedar Rapids staple for decades now. It is by far the best pizza place in Cedar Rapids. I especially recomend the Detroit Deep Dish.
They have just moved into a brand new location, but fear not, they brought the magnificently seasoned ovens with them.
